Organization XIII: Has anybody else noticed?
ssceles replied to Sephiroth991995's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Yeah, we've known this since Kingdom Hearts 2. The apprentices (the first six members of the Organization) names are all in the Ansem Reports (and Aeleaus/Eleaus was spelling wrong or officially changed later on). Demyx has one of those names you're just not sure how its going to end up (like how Axel and Saix were before they were given officially). Luxord = Rould? Marluxia = Lauriam? Larxene = Relena? I've always particularly liked Lauriam for Marluxia over Lumaria simply because Lauriam is a real name. Just go to Google or Facebook. -
I never really used either. Ever. Not for serious fighting. (Unless Tinkerbell in KH1 counts. But that was only during one battle. ) As far as non-standard features I like go - Shoot Lock. I like that. Lots. I hope it stays. It's not really like the other two, but, whatever. Shout out to it because its awesome.

It really makes one wonder what Riku was going through all that time, doesn't it? He was dealing with the fear of Ansem taking over long before he decided that was the price he was willing to pay to make sure Sora could go home. Even if he couldn't, he would do anything to make sure Sora could. If Riku truly wasn't strong enough to defeat Roxas without Ansem's help, it's not like Ansem cared, except that it meant he had the power to hang guilt over Riku's head. If it weren't for Riku, Sora wouldn't be in the mess he was, and if it weren't for Ansem, Riku would be unable to help Sora. I think it was an actual deal he had to make - to give himself up to the point of no return. Riku's own will was pretty weak at that point - he feels horrible for the things he's done. He doesn't have a lot of willpower when he needs to act for himself, but if its to help his friends, his will can still overpower Ansem. Even after he gave up his body and looks, he didn't give up actual control of it. If Sora had gone home without him? ...he may have. And Ansem probably never would have gone anywhere near Sora again (it'd be kind of silly for revenge after you got outsmarted by a kid with a giant key, I don't think he'd want to go through that embarrassment twice).

What would you guys vote for?
ssceles replied to kingdomlanelover's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Answer 1: None of the above. I don't currently own any of those systems. As much as I want KH3 to be on a tv and not a handheld, I'm just as okay with another PSP game instead. Answer 2: KH1. Answer 3: .........358/2 Days. It would have been a lot more fun if it was more like the rest of the series in terms of.... everything from graphics to gameplay. Needs more video scenes, too. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png I vote for this because it needs it badly. Otherwise, I'd totally rather see KH1 redone. -
Whooo! Is it the data that Namine uncovered about the others to connected to Sora?
-
I made this about three months ago - a Xemnas x Aqua sort of AMV (and, forgive me, I reused quite a few scenes while making it). I know Mysterious Figure isn't, as far as we know, Xemnas at all, but for the sake of the video: pretend a little? You can pretend this actually a pairing video, or, just a video connecting Xemnas to Terra's past. As for the music... I saw these guys in concert this spring and I knew I wanted to make a video. So, here it is - "Though Glass" by Stone Sour. Go ahead and comment here or on YouTube, up to you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zattIYtsuc PS: I really wish I could get a few of those scenes in HD or something. T_T I can't find a good source for the KH2FM scene anywhere. Also: My 50th post here at KH13. YAY!

Master Xehanort is old and creepy and just because he has a new body it does not mean I should change my whole opinion on the matter. But that's shallowness for you: It's the insides that count. Give the insides a new outside and suddenly I'm drooling. *facepalm*
-
Me too. Then I would probably hate him even more, though. In that way that I love-hate him. Billy Zane is just far too sexy. It was bad enough I played the Japanese version of Birth by Sleep first and the voice actor didn't change in that. So the moment Terra was possessed my jaw just dropped and I think maybe my heart stopped. Master Xehanort is old and creepy and just because he has a new body it does not mean I should change my whole opinion on the matter. But that's shallowness for you: It's the insides that count. Give the insides a new outside and suddenly I'm drooling. *facepalm* It was awful. It was a very mixed feeling. It would have been even worse with Billy Zane because I would feeling even more like not helping Terra. ^^;;; I'm sure Riku thought so. I mean what was he thinking? 'Yeah, Kairi, I joined the dark side... but hey, I saved you! We're cool, right?' http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png

If there's anyone I actually hate in the series... its Master Xehanort and just about any form of Xehanort. And its a very love-hate mixture. I hate that I love him. I hate... that 'Ansem, Seeker of Darkness' makes him any ounce likable. T_T I hate him because he's awful. I love him because he's, like, the only successful villain ever. *shakes fist at* Bastard ruined so many lives and got away with it. That's insane. He's insane. I'm not sure if there's any bit of him that's actually salvageable. Did you know its a perfectly common psychological response for females to be attracted to villains? It's because we're attracted to confidence, ladies. We're attracted to power. Power means someone who can protect us. We're not thinking with our heads or our hearts, just what instinct can tell us.

Birth by Sleep's battle system was awesome. I wouldn't be surprised if we get one like it in the next major installment.

Which Kingdom Hearts title do you think is the most overrated?
ssceles replied to DChiuch's topic in Poll of the Week
(Clearly you guys with load problems weren't using the install data. o_O No problems here.) I haven't played re:Coded. I wouldn't say its overrated. Overrated to me means a game that the people say they like that I disagree with. Yeah, official statements are one thing, but public opinion matters. It's no one's favorite, so its far from overrated if its already at the bottom of this thread's ratings. Overrated is a game everyone loves and you don't share the sentiment. My vote is KH2. It lacked the emotional depth and plot of KH1 and I nearly stopped playing. Everyone seems to LOVE Organization XIII. (And they did even prior to the release of Days.) I felt they were shallow as far as enemies go and I didn't see the point of fighting them to begin with. (But most people make comment on how easily Sora was lead around with the 'look, Sora, its bad, fight it!' routine. I'm not alone in this thought.) They made a better game, graphically, with better controls, but it had no actual life to it, in my opinion. Second vote goes to 358/2 Days and this has nothing to do with public opinion but from advertising prospective - you had no idea you were buying a game with such horrible controls and only a handful of actual pre-rendered video segments. It was disappointing. It brought the necessary depth into Organization XIII, so it has its saving graces. Stop for a moment and imagine a remake of this on a better handheld device or even a console. Smile over the fact this alone means the game is better both graphically, controller-wise, and with more of the scenes actually fleshed out for video. That'd be awesome, wouldn't it? I don't think Chain of Memories is overrated. It's the most underrated of the entire series because most people never even knew it existed before playing KH2. It was for the Gameboy Advance. re:Chain of Memories for the PS2 may come off as 'overrated' to those of you who never played the original. It's perfectly rated and totally awesome to me, as someone who did. -
Granted, yes, the DS is pretty dead. But that doesn't mean the 3DS won't play it. It doesn't mean all of us are turning in our DS to get a 3DS (okay, maybe a lot of us are, but not everyone everywhere) - so making another Pokemon game for 'just' the DS isn't a bad idea so long as it'll still play on a normal DS and a 3DS. But Pokemon for 3DS: Why? Pokemon has always been such a simple game that it didn't, and still doesn't, actually require the 3D element. Yeah, we have some slight 3D going on with the newer games so the trees and houses angle accordingly as we walk along. Do we need it? Nah. If we had Pokemon on a 3DS, what are we really going to do with it? Turn the 3D slider bar all the way down so we can play in 'flat' 2D mode again? Personally, I've always rathered they'd push toward game length rather than special effects. It's a very simple game, beautifying it doesn't change its core aspects and I want the core game to simply last longer. I liked Gold and Silver. I could finish with Johto and go back into Kanto. Those were the days! I want to see more games like. I want them to officially combine the regions so travel can take place. If bumping up to a 3DS cartridge, not for the effects, but for the space, can allow them to do that: yesplz. Do I want a R/S/E remake? Personally? No. Would I get it? Oh yes. The day it comes out. I'm just not a major fan of that generation. *shrug* A brand new game or a remake of an old one. Doesn't matter to me~~

Which Pixar movies would you like future worlds to be based on?
ssceles replied to DChiuch's topic in Poll of the Week
I agree with KeyofVentus. Unless Tangled counts, I've never seen a Pixar film I enjoyed as much as a traditional Disney film. My vote is 'none of the above'. -
From another perspective, I'm lesbian and I like yaoi. There's a chance it could point to bisexuality, but only if you should choose to pursue it. It's what on the inside that counts. For some people gender is a non-issue. Being supportive of others' choices is just as well. You're perfectly happy being straight and you're perfectly okay with letting others be otherwise if they want. Go you!
-
Wow. I actually called some of that. I knew he was capable of feeling happy, he just had a really hard time with it. Furthermore... this increases my worries about Xehanort having a crazy!evil light side to lead the next arc of the games. Major do not want. Pressing poor Vanitas towards ideas of salvation like that but treating him like shit at the same time. Evil! Evil!

o3o Look a quote from the article! Here, my rant on piracy: The irony is still that in piracy no profit is actually being made. Content is not stolen for profit. Nor is any money being taken from the owner. A digital copy is being made. They're actually like the moment you steal something no one else can have it anymore. They're using the word 'steal' improperly. The only thing that could be possibly be implied to as being stolen is the money they'd otherwise be getting from people who, without a free alternative, would have to purchase a legitimate copy. If these same people never had any intention to buy a legitimate copy, no money is lost still. Not to sound like I'm supporting piracy here or anything but: Nothing is being stolen. They need to find a new word. Free copies are being made, and yes, this behavior may deny profits. Then again, that's assuming a purchasable copy still exists of whatever is being pirated. If a vhs tape was never ported to dvd, no one sells it, and no company has actually published it in 'x' amount of years, I hardly see what the problem is. With books, copyright went from meaning who had the right to publish the book in whole to who had claim over the characters, plots, and ideas held within. No one could duplicate those ideas and rewrite a similar book. Around this same time it was decided once an author has been dead for 'x' amount of years or once the book is 'x' amount of years old, it became 'public domain' and adaptions of it could be made. Is there any such public domain date after 'x' amount of time that film and music becomes public domain? Currently? The entire premise behind piracy comes from people all over the world who feel they are being overcharged for something so easily copied. From handwritten books to the printing press, from play by ear to sheet music, from live concerts to radio, from radio to that kid who wants to record it onto a cassette tape instead of buy a cd, to the people who charge $15 for a five cents of disk, to people who refuse to pay that much who want to be charged zero cents for their digital copy of the -one- song they wanted off a disk of twelve. It just gets easier and easier to copy things. Once upon a time the price actually had to do with the cost of materials and for paying workers the time it took to make the copy. Digital copies come at the cost of no material cost and no workers, so of course things are being freely distributed. The bad news? The artist isn't getting paid, either. I hate the music industries for their overpriced stuff mostly because the original artists aren't getting enough of the profit. It doesn't cost that much to make a cd, the artist sees less than half of the total cost of the cd, and it kills me to know that so much of the money is just being pocketed by the company who makes the cds when they really don't deserve it. BUY music digitally and you'll notice how inexpensive it really is in comparison to a cd. The artist gets their share and those greedy companies don't. It's a horrible cycle, really. If the prices were lower, maybe people would stop pirating. Then again, the more pirating goes on, the larger the loss of profits is, and the more the prices actually jack up. -__-

What is your favourite generation of Pokémon?
ssceles replied to DChiuch's topic in Poll of the Week
Woot! Gen 1 is winning. *cheers* -
Do you think KH13 should include a community calendar?
ssceles replied to DChiuch's topic in Poll of the Week
Not necessarily birthdays (we have a lot of members) unless its just people on our friends' lists. But release dates, convention/expo dates, and anniversaries would be neat. I'd use it a handful of times just to stare at the expo dates whenever I forget exactly what days of the week they fall on. It'd also be good to keep track of news events that have passed, also. That way we know exactly when and where something important was found out so when we look back we can accurately give a source. (ex: When and where we first heard about the game at all, where the major trailers came from, when the identity of a new character is released.) It'd be too hard to go back and track the long build up of information prior to Birth by Sleep's release (do you remember how long we went calling Vanitas 'Dark Soldier' for lack of a better name? how long it took us to learn Ventus' name long after we knew Terra's?), but it'd be nice to do something like that for KH3Ds as we find out more. We know about these new games almost immediately after the prior games get out and then it takes them ~2-3 years to actually get it out. (You have to admit, Nomura must be just as excited to tell us about KH3Ds as we are to find out about it.) o3o That last suggestion might be way too much to implement, but shoving a link to important news items on the calendar would work, so long as the news doesn't, like, spontaneously combust once it falls past the front page. New bits of information always feel like milestones to me. -
The card system is still awful, but: Now that its all in 3D, you have much more freedom to run around and actually dodge attacks and target exactly who you want to be attacking, making it so much likeable. All the important scenes that take place within Castle Oblivion are fully rendered scenes with voice acting, but scenes on the worlds themselves are still very much like they were in CoM. It's a decently long game, even with the ease of Riku's side (although his has interesting plot going on, in my opinion). More fun? Definitely. Should you get it? Sure! And once you beat Sora's side, you get all his scenes in theater mode and once you beat Riku's side, you get all of his. You basically never have to replay to watch the content again at a later date and its much more fun on a TV than on YouTube. The only reason you'd want to replay is if you actually wanted to challenge some of those bosses again. Prepare for some odd disappointment if you've played KH1 recently. Sora and Riku's voice actors got older, so its a really awkward transition to listen to. I think the rest of the voice acting was really hit or miss. Larxene and Vexen had wonderful voice actors, although I'm not fond of Marluxia's and I think Axel's voice actor was trying far too hard to sound sexy with his lines and not actually reading them the right way. If you liked Ansem, Seeker of Darkness from KH1, his voice actor is (as it has been since KH2) different. Not necessarily bad different, just different. (Myotismon from Digimon different.) He pulled off the lines well, but he's no Billy Zane. I love re:CoM. It's better than 358/2 Days in my opinion.

*is so in love with Tumblr* KH13 needs a Tumblr, man. I'd follow that and reblog important stuff in a heartbeat. Tumblr is addictive.
-
All the ones in the lead. Yup... just your average visitor.

Interestingly, if it were real: This isn't the first time Nomura has called Riku the 'master of shadows'. In an interview in KH2FM Ultimania he said exactly the same thing. If this is fake, the person has a lot of time on their hands to remember that. I caught onto it right away. =/ source for kh2fm ultimania interview I'm so glad I've got a good memory, because the first thing I did was remember he'd been called such before and went to go find out where.

How long have you been interested in Kingdom Hearts?
ssceles replied to DChiuch's topic in Poll of the Week
To be safe... 4 years. An old sketchbook I have on hand goes back to 2007. I wasn't around since the very beginning. My nieces and nephew got me into the series. The first time I saw Kingdom Hearts it was the gba game and my niece wanted help. I didn't realize that's what it was until way over a year later when a friend convinced me to play KH1 and I found out about the gba game. -
Would you use an AMV sharing feature on the site?
ssceles replied to DChiuch's topic in Poll of the Week
Hell yes. Because I'm sick of not being able to share all my work on YouTube because of all those blasted copyright issues. I'm too scared to keep posting to YouTube because I swear if I get another strike against my account I'll be banned or something. =/ What part do music companies not get about AMVs being free advertisement? I like a group's music, I want others to enjoy the music, they see an awesome video TO awesome music... what is the next thing that person does? Finds more of that group's music - and hopefully buys it so they can rock out as much as I do. So, partially, my answer is C - it'd be most useful to me if I could upload here, if by that you mean your system will not compromise entirely of YouTube links. I upload to Google Docs to share with my friends these days since it has no copyright filter. (Lol, you just spent over an hour saving and uploading that but, LOL, no, we're not letting you show your friends. Thank you, YouTube.) But whatever's cool. I'd find a way to use it no matter what.
