KHBbS Could you save them? *spoilers*
AxiriDeschain replied to AxiriDeschain's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I would have simply changed how Eraqus handled the situation with Terra. If he had merely talked it out and explained then thigns would have ended much better. -
The reason I thought "Memento Morai" would be an appropriate name was because the Keychain is of two gear halves. The phrase, "Remember your mortality" links back to time and how short life is. Considering Vanitas' dark origins and his attatchment to the Unversed which are comprised of negative emotions it seemed fitting for his Keyblade to bear similar sentiments.

What does everyone think Vanitas' Keyblade should be named? I've never seen any mention of a name for it in the Japanese version, so I was curious as to the ideas everyone else had. I personally like the name "Memento Morai"

KHBbS English release date discussion.

So you're picking up BBS almost a month after it's released or something? Just curious. Coincidentally, you start school on the same day Japan gets Re:coded ^^ My bad, I meant 9/7! And Re: Coded looks so awesome! -

I think I'm really lucky 'cause the first day of school for me is 10/7, so I have three whole days to play BBS before I have to worry about school work. Sometimes life is simply awesome........... -

I know that, but what Stardustblade358 wanted to change was the extraction of Ven's darkness and thus the creation of Vanitas. Not Ven having met Master Xehanort in the first place. At least that was my impression. -
KHBbS How many times will you play through?

Dont feel bad. Try inward chaos in dissidia. That's an over-done superboss. Anyway, i'm gonna do 100% on standard, then try proud and critical That's not always the case, I fought him as Jecht without any equipment other than Sin's Talon and I still beat him. The only move that's hard to avoid is Scarlet Rain which is what I save my EX Mode invincibility frames for. If you're talking about the level 120 Chaos, then let me just say that it's not that difficult. He only has about five or so HP attacks that can all be dodged with proper timing and other than that it's just a matter of cutting down his HP with fast HP attacks and chase attacks. Sorry, I really love that game. His BP attacks can be a huge pain though, because they're pretty out of nowhere, and some break defense, and basically one missed dodge/block will kill you instantly. -

Ven was already a Keyblade apprentice before Master Xehanort extracted his darkness. While it's true that if that never happened some things would have changed, but the end result would have been the same. I'm sure Ven would have still met Aqua and Terra just because he wields a Keyblade. The reason why Ven is a Keyblade wielder is because of MX (Master Xehanort) who did the ritual. Nomura said in an interview, that everyone, but Sora tried the ritual. I'm a little confused, what ritual are you talking about? Before Master Xehanort extracted Ven's darkness Ven was already wielding a Keyblade. You can see him trying to fend off the Neoshadows with it. -

*Raises hand* I think it would be a great add on battle to go along with the cutscene, like how you get to fight Roxas in KH Final Mix. I'd imagine it being a lot like a sparring match between Sora and Riku in the first game.

If there was just one thing you could change in the plot of BBS, just a single thing made different, what would it be? Do you think that changing something might have been able to save Terra, Ventus, or Aqua?

Everyone else has a point, their reasoning for putting Critical Mode on hold is so that they can actually play the game first. I can understand that you're a "hardcore gamer" 'cause I am as well, but there should be a diifference between a hardcore gamer and somebody wanting to show off. To be honest, I also relish a challenge, but I want to know the game and enjoy it, the characters and the story before I make it all about grinding and calculations. Feel free to do what you want, but just know that you don't have to prove anything to anyone.
-
To be perfectly honest, for the most part all you need is to level up your counter attack ability to the max (Revenge Stamp fpr Terra, Revenge Rush for Ven, and Barrier Cracker for Aqua) and simply block and counter.

I was told by a good friend of mine who has a ton of connections that the boss fight occurs in an added Mirage Arena battle, which would mean that it has no real impact on the story and that the fact that it takes place in a Land of Departure setting means nothing at all timeline wise. It could very well be anyone, but I'm still kind of leaning towards Xemnas or maybe another well known BBS character.........

I was thinking more along the lines of immature Keyblade wielders that hadn't participated in the War because they lacked the power to substantially contribute. I'm already more or less sure that Xehanort was either a survivor of the War or he simply stood on the sidelines because he knew how everything would play out. He says numerous times that he has waited countless years for the chance he gets in Birth By Sleep.
-
That story appears in Birth By Sleep so yeah, I remember it. I was curious as to why all the characters in Birth By Sleep acted like there was a great number of Keyblade wielders out there that hadn't been a part of the Keyblade War. I understand that the participants of the War were obliterated, but the sheer number that must have existed before suggests that there should be more than we've seen. They can't have ALL vanished can they?
-
This is a question that has probably been asked before, but if there were enough Keyblade bearers for a war that decimated an entire world then why have we seen so few of them? To my current knowledge there are less than a dozen (Not including Xion and Roxas) In BBS Vanitas plans on "Allowing other Keyblade wielders to gather here and re-start the Keyblade Wars" so that means that there ARE more of them. -Sora -Riku -Kairi -Mickey -Ventus -Terra -Aqua -Master Xehanort -Vanitas -Master Eraqus -Yen Sid Anyone have a theory behind why this is?

KHBbS How many times will you play through?
AxiriDeschain replied to hatok's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I'll play through on Proud mode first just to get a feel for the game, I don't want to jump for Critical Mode first thing and get firetrucked due to the combination of difficulty and new gameplay. However, after I 100% Proud, I'll move onto Critical mode and after I've beaten that I'll just play through again a binch of times and then start doing Deck limitations to make the game harder. -
Not really, it's not that much more difficult than the previous games. It's just different, you can however compare the differences to make them seem similar. The Shoot Lock commands are like this games Limits, the D-Link is just a slightly different method of summoning and the Battle Commands are just another way of utilizing magic and special attacks without the use of an MP bar. Yes, the North American version will include a Critical Mode, Crown Stickers, new Keyblades such as the Vanitas Sentiment's Keyblade, a new Secret Boss and added minigame goodies. Hope this helps.

KHBbS What happened in that fight....
AxiriDeschain replied to Mr. Abyss (bb)'s topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
You can look at it this way: Just because Terra's body is younger than Master Xehanort's doesn't automatically mean that it's stronger. The reason Terra beat Master Xehanort the first time is because he gave in to the darkness and obtained great power in exchange for leaving himself vulnerable to possession by Master Xehanort. The Lingering Sentiment was able to defeat Terranort (That's just what I've grown to call the Xehanort possessed Terra) was due to the fact that it was more or less an even fight now that Master Xehanort was in his body. You can think of it as a one on one between two Terras, one who uses Darkness and one that doesn't. Hope that helped some. -
KHBbS KH Connections: Xigbar and BBS Theory
AxiriDeschain replied to Memories's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Although the release of new information may have already cleared this question up, Xigbar wasn't an Apprentice to The then Master Xehanort. Xigbar, Briag at the time, was merely working side by side with Master Xehanort to make Terra fall to the darkness for Master Xehanort's benefit. Xigbar knew Terra, Ven and Aqua from his time as his Somebody Briag, and that's why when Xigbar faced off with Xion he saw her as Ventus, because he was in his memories relating to the Keyblade. As for the other things Xigbar knows, it's merely due to his involvement with the then Master Xehanort. Also, if you look closely you can see that the armor and Keyblade that lay in the Room of Sleep belong to Aqua, hence Xemnas reffering to it as a "friend". The other friend he speaks of is Ventus for reasons I won't divulge due to the fact it would spoil the story for others. Hope that cleared some stuff up. And yes there are Heartless in Birth By Sleep, they simply aren't the main enemy or focus of the game. In the cutscene that explains Ven's past you can see Neoshadows summoned by Master Xehanort.
