  1. Agreed, especially the first. One of the recent issues of the magazine(dec. I think) had a top 30 countdown of the best video game characters of the decade. As far as I know, the majority were all from games in the past 5 years, not 10, and mostly Western games. A lot of characters come from games i never heard of, or had but forgot about within a week of release, or as soon as walked outta GameStop like the game Bully. Although a small handful of characters deserved their spot... In short I hate reviews, just because a game gets bad reviews by critics doesn't mean it's bad. Typically when that happens for for I usually like the game... So don't listen to critics, half the time they're probably biased... Decide things for yourself!
  2. Also keep in mind you need 1000 points WITHOUT the height bonus! I made that mistake once....thought I'd get it with the height bonus, but I was wrong.
  3. I do not believe that it was unnecessary at all.... It showed us exactly what made Roxas leave the organization. Likely without Xion, Roxas would never have questioned the organization and left...He likely would've just stayed, and blindly followed orders. Also, Riku might not have captured him so he could be put into the virtual Twilight Town and go back to Sora at the time. It also shed a little light on some of the others. Sure the game may not have played the BIGGEST part, but it still played a part....Heck you could say BBS wasn't necessary...Did we REALLY need to know what happened 10 years prior to KH1? No, we didn't NEED to, but it sheds light on the series' storyline as a whole, adds depth, and still adds some effects to future events. With the idea you just put forward, then they only made BBS to explain the secret ending to KH2 as well...Just because Days didn't play the biggest part doesn't mean it didn't play one at all....
  4. Oh yes...very different...to me Roxas was more of an introvert, while Ven the extrovert...Now, comparing Ven and Sora....I say Ven was smarter, (to me it seemed like Sora was a bit slow at times)not easily fooled like Sora would be. Roxas is the quieter more introverted one, Sora the louder, more foolish one, and Ven is a bit of a balance between the two....not easily fooled like Sora, but more extroverted than Roxas.
  5. Just ignore those who call her such...she really isn't.... Many people nowadays use that term wrongly, applying it to female characters they don't like....you'll see it in just about every fandom... Guarantee if Xion was a boy, they wouldn't say a word...Many also accuse her of "ruining" AkuRoku, which of course is absolute nonsense! How can a character ruin a FAN made pairing? So if anyone calls her such, just ignore it...She doesn't fit the description of a Sue or the sub types of Sues anyway...
  6. Eh I doubt he would. Remember their friendship kinda faded after becoming nobodies anyway. And "They gave up their hearts, unselfishly for love"....Where the heck does it say ANYTHING remotely similar to that!!! It never did!!!
  7. An absolutely perfect, flawless, beautiful character, usually female...She has no flaws, and has practically every single guy in the series like her. Another trait common is that this character can bed the 'physics' of any game, ex. KH mary-sue can magically create hearts out of thin air for nobodies, she's exceptionally beautiful and has every single male after her. etc etc....No one likes them, and many accuse canon females like Xion of being one, when they aren't. Another example of a Sue is Bella Swan of the Twilight series....don't care what anyone says, she is....THe male equivalent is called a Gary/Marty-Stu.
  8. I agree about the boss fights.....they were a friggin pain!!!But certainly not as much as the entire game of CoM....hated the fighting system in that game!
  9. Kinda...in a way he did release the hearts, through Sora.
  10. Yeah, hate the idea....it wouldn't feel like KH. And people would undoubtably make Mary-sues(even if not all OCs are...hate when people think that...) THere's certain types of games where this sort of thing would fit, but KH is NOT one of them.
  11. I agree with FatesChance....it DID have an impact on the story. Without Xion, Roxas would have never left the Organization, but just accepted everything, and most likely would've had a different fate. It did answer a lot of questions for us. However it could have been improved too. Definitely more depth on the rest of Org. More variety of enemies, not just re-colors, and for some, not as strong...leave that for boss battles....The storyline was ok as is, but I'm sure it could also have been improved...I agree that there should have been more cutscenes, make the missions a lot less repetitive, and add new worlds to it. There's a lot of room for it to be improved, but overall, I think it was worth it....Especially if it made me actually WANT a DS...before Days, never cared much for it....but that's just me....
  12. It could be a combonation of things....don't forget these games are made in Japan, and Japanese don't have blue eyes, just brown and hazel mostly so they must like them...Also, Nomura tends to give a lot of his heros blue eyes. Go back to some of the Final Fantasies, a lot of characters there have blue eyes...It's also probably an archetype for the hero. After all, we have a lot of those here in the west. Even Sora's weapon is an archetype, a legendary sword only able to be used by a certain person. But I do admit we need some characters with different eye colors.
