Yeah, it's a really lame way to go about things. "We're making the boss stronger! What's that? You can't keep up? Well here, here's a new medal that can make you strong enough to keep up! Mercy? What's that? Oh, it's that thing you can only get by paying real-world cash. This is 100% ok and there's nothing wrong with it, nope!"

They recently revamped the bosses to be stronger because of the increased buff cap. As it was, people were using +15/-15 strategies on bosses that were only ready to handle +7/-7 setups, which lead to people killing them within about 3 attacks (buffers included).

You know, the only reason we're getting a raid week in the middle of the month is because they wanted to have it happen before KH3 releases in Japan. If it were Global that they were taking into consideration, ours would be next week. This kinda doesn't work in their favor if you ask me. We had 2 raid weeks in a row for Christmas and New Year's, we get one week off, and now we're right back to this hellish event. Anyway, Riku Replica's back, and I don't recommend trying for him because, once again, he's non-mercy unless you pay for VIP. Not worth it at this point. If you already have a Riku but need new traits for him, it might be worth your while to pull once or twice. But no more than that: remember, chasing traits is never a good idea.

As a reminder whenever these events come around: if you can't get any further in the event, don't waste jewels trying to beat it. The prize is jewels, so you're wasting jewels to get jewels: it doesn't make sense. The event is challenging, and while the last round can be turtled/tanked (aka you can defend in order to survive), you'll only get the title, not the jewels. As for the medal, it's... Well, it's alright. The overwrite feature is neat, but there aren't a lot of good reverse magic slots to use it on, the gauge cost is pretty high, and the multiplier is somewhat low. The board is a decent deal if you really want the medal, though with the higher gauge cost mentioned before, you'll want to use a skill other than the one that comes with the board. -
And so the slow drip of story content continues with... filler quests. Greeeeeeeeeat... This banner is... interesting. For one, the mercy is a new format: you don't mercy a specific medal in the trio, but rather, you get one of the three, each with an equal chance of being your mercy medal. Not entirely bad, I guess. However, we got shafted on the "guaranteed copy medal" part. In JP the deal was "one T8 copy medal", but ours is "one of any copy medal" which means our rates are skewed in favor of getting the lower tier medals like Beagle Boys, Lion Pete, Key Art Sky/Bonds/Beginning, etc. One thing to note is that the VIP coins from previous banners have carried over, so if you didn't want to use your coins on the "lackluster" skills, then you can get trait medals for whichever Seifer/Rai/Fuu copy medal you get. Not exactly a bad idea, though it still expects you to pull a fair amount regardless. All that being said, I'd recommend waiting until Sunday to see what Xemnas+ is like. It's possible that he'll be a better purchase in the long run.

You know, when they said they'd be adding the secret ending at a later date, I approved of the decision since we've had to deal with all of these leaks and whatnot. But I figured it'd be more like a few weeks or a month later, not literally 2 days later.

Well, the VIP banners are still a thing. And this time there's no mercy medal either (though Maleficent wasn't all that great to begin with, so maybe not quite as bad). Seriously, is there a way to get SENA to actually acknowledge our frustration with this issue?? Meanwhile, the raid boss has returned to being time-limited (which makes some sense given that 0 AP is no longer active), but I doubt that they changed the coin output which means it'll still be a hassle just getting enough coins to complete the boards (again, problematic because they're time-limited). What's the point of feedback and surveys if nothing ever seems to change? Anyway, Captain Dark is... Well, he's ok, I guess. If you got Captain Justice, then you don't need this one as the only real difference is the -2 R-DEF debuff instead of a -2 U-DEF debuff.

PVP has become a chore ever since people started stocking their setups with Kairis, Xions, and Supernova medals.

The 4th chest is in the fountain area where you find the target enemy. It's hidden behind the corner of a building at the bottom of the map, just to the left of the target enemy. You might have to tap the scenery for a bit to find it, but it's there.

Well, one year of salt ends and another begins. So, those boards... They look good, but that price tag looks pretty bad. I'm not sure on whether anyone should go for those just yet. The new tier 9 medals are powerful, but we kind of got shafted compared to JP. Don't get me wrong, the fact that the banners are falling price and the lack of a VIP mercy banner are both great things, but this means there's no mercy whatsoever for these medals. Combine that with the returning "collect these medals to get this medal" schtick and you end up spending potentially double what you would've if there had been a VIP mercy. So it's like: nice gesture, but you're still screwing us over. Also, something else to point out about these medals: SN Terra, SN Aqua, and SN Ven will always use 2 gauges. This means that even if you have an SP1 skill on them, they will still use 3 gauges. So be careful when figuring out your setups. As for the raid week event... The good news is that it seems to be available all the time and not just for 4 select hours during the day. The bad news is that they probably haven't changed the number of coins you receive or the lux output, so more of the same nonsense as last time...

It feels like their tweets are getting more and more sparse, almost like the social media manager has been changed out for someone else. Like, they didn't tweet about the countdown challenges, they tweeted at a weird time about the coliseum changes, and now this tweet just has the VIP medal (not even the VIP gem or brooms/mirrors quests). Like, don't get me wrong: I know that they might have more coming for the end of the year, but the tweets don't even hint at that. This is concerning...

Wow, a bonus jewels campaign and KH3 Kairi comes back? This totally wasn't planned at all! Sarcasm aside, the new boards look pretty solid. They've got DB4Max which many people have been wanting, and the other 2 skills are high level Atk Boost Max skills as well. Coliseum can go die in a fire for all I care.

Yeah, they had to adjust its HP due to the recent buff cap increase. The whole idea of Union Cross quests was to make people work together; if you can't kill the thing by yourself or survive by yourself, it forces you to play with other players. (There was a time when I was strong enough that I could just go in by myself and take out the boss, but not anymore.)

These boards aren't nearly as outdated as previous returning boards, which is nice. I'm not sure they have all that much that's really "needed" but what they have is pretty good. If I recall correctly, I believe the Hayner/Pence/Olette boards have Def Boost 4 Max, so that's definitely worth investing in.

Well, he's not bad as a buffer, but I feel like other buffers do more than he does. Still, he's one of the only random target buffers with a defense debuff, so... Hard to say for sure. (Also, he's tier 8 which means it'd be harder to evolve him if you wanted to.)

So, here's Xion. As with Kairi, I don't recommend wasting too many jewels on this. Maybe a couple pulls, but no more than that. Both of them will have non-VIP mercies eventually, anyway. Free pulls are nice, but they're also terrible because I always get 5* medals. And this time the minimum jewels you can get is 1500, which is 500 less than last time. It's almost like they're trying to get us to spend money on this game... Also, why a raid week during Christmas? That ain't right! (I know not everyone celebrates, but still.)

Yeah, Illustrated Xion EX (the one you mentioned) is a great buffer. HD Xion is a copy medal, so it can copy whichever medal you put after it. Great if you want to copy your Illustrated Xion EX (gonna refer to this one as XEX going forward).. Just remember: use Xion buffers for reverse medals and use Kairi buffers for upright medals. If you have more reverse buffers, try making a reverse setup instead of adding in upright medals. Also, post screenshots if you have them, since it makes it easier to see what you're working with. (Best filter would be 6 and 7 star medals, tier 4 and higher)

Yeah, confusion is natural. Maybe if this game was handled a bit better... But whatever. Do you have any Kairi or Xion medals? Larxene+ is only gonna be good for buffing herself and the medal after her, but most Kairi/Xion medals give buffs for all your medals for the entire turn.

What sort of medals do you have? You'll want a good buffer as well as an overwrite medal, and you'll want medals with the Ground Def -60 trait as you go further. If you're doing 1 damage, it's either a lack of attack, defense debuffs, or a combination of both.

On the one hand: boooooooo, VIP coins suck!! On the other hand: that's all you can get with your coins? That's pretty sad. As with all of these no-mercy/VIP-mercy banners, I'm gonna say "don't waste your jewels". It's just insulting, really. They know we don't like it, but hey, if at least one person takes advantage of it, that must mean they're doing something right, right? The answer is no, of course. Oh, and don't waste jewels on trying to beat the new event. If the prize is jewels and you spend jewels, you've squandered your prize. If you can't beat it, try asking around for advice, and even if that doesn't work, just let it slide: we're bound to get more free jewels soon enough.

Well, the only real "good" news I got from this update was that the weekly raid boss has updated HP, so it'll be time to make a new raid setup again. As for the bad... Why bring Sephiroth back as a VIP mercy? Why remove the guaranteed Prime Cloud? Why do they still think this nonsense is ok??

FINALLY! No more trash medals in the banner! Fun fact: the board costs as much as the total jewel prize from completing the event. Think that was planned?

Ugh, more of these VIP-locked banners. They're killing their game... Alright, my advice: pass on the boards, pass on the medals. Sure, they give great buffs, but it's for a 6 gauge cost. There are better ways to get to the buff cap than these medals, honestly (aside from KH3 Kairi). The boards are alright, but they're not as great as the Santa boards currently available.

It is VIP, and I'm sorry that it's such a useless medal. Makes your toon collection feel just a little less worthwhile. "I got this one and it really helped me, even though it doesn't as much now. Oh, that one over there? It was never good to begin with..."
