Limited quantities of PlayStation 4 Pro Kingdom Hearts III Limited Edition still available for pre-order at some Japanese retailers

Yoshirai

PlayStation 4 Pro Kingdom Hearts III Limited Edition was announced back in E3, and although initially available through a lottery system, it became available for preorder through numerous Japanese online retailers soon after.

You can check here below the list of Japanese retailers that are still taking online preorders:

Please notice that although you might be able to place your order, some of the listed retailers may not offer a shipping service outside Japan (e.g. Amazon.jp) or to your country of residence.

Are you going to pre-order one of those Limited Edition PS4 Pro? Let us know in the comment section below!

I'm...STILL holding out hope that it will come to the US. I mean, what good is a special edition PS4 from Japan if you can't even get it out of Japan?

Exactly, Square Enix would shoot itself in the foot if they don't release it internationally.  If this was released outside Japan and how hyped people are for KH3 then...

I don't know. I mean I've often considered how stupid it would be for a company to announce a special edition console at an AMERICAN gaming convention and only release it in Japan. But then I remembered that this is Square Enix we're talking about.

Anything goes, I suppose.

So every one of those links says the console's sold out lol. So they are not still taking online preorders. The only places in Japan that have it available are either with re-sellers or on auction sites, which are also re-sellers basically. So in the list in the post for example, Yamada Web (ヤマダウェブ) and Yahoo Shopping (Yahoo!ショッピング) are sites that allow re-sellers to put up products, similar to how Amazon has a Marketplace (even in Japan). That's why there's an incredible markup on the PS4 Pro on those sites, which are the only ones that still list it as "available".

In all honesty, the PS4 Pros were gone pretty much the instant they went up on Japanese retailers' sites. Don't mean to be cheeky, but I'd rather this post be retitled to not give people false hope. That may be a list of retailers that carried the PS4 Pro, but they haven't had any stock of it for quite a while now.

The PS4 Pros were also not just available by lottery system in Japan. Amazon JP, for example, sold them without a lottery system, which is why they were pretty much one of the first retailers to sell out of the PS4 Pro. From what I saw, the JP Square Enix Store was one of the remaining retailers that still had units almost a month after they went up, but they were selling by lottery. They too are now out of stock though.

It's basically the same with how the Collector's Editions of FFXV appeared on ebay for pre-order after they were sold out from the only source that had them available.

I'm not saying that there aren't some official retailers which still offer them for the regular price at some location but it's hard to find it for a reasonable price online and from a reliable seller nonetheless.

Not that I would consider buying this from overseas. Sony's customer service is so-so here and if there's an issue, it will become even more expensive really swiftly with shipping costs.

Limited stuff like this is always gone really fast but to be honest, I don't really see a point to buy this unless someone was planning to buy a console anyway. If I wanted a special type of PS4, I could order a skin for 10$ or something. It may not look as fancy as an engraved one but it's still personalized and cheaper.

Don't get me wrong, that PS4 Pro is awesome, but my regular one is working just fine...
