Leonard Nimoy (Master Xehanort's English voice actor) has passed away

As of today, Leonard Nimoy (Master Xehanort's English voice actor) has died at age 83 from Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California.

For those of you who don't know, he was born on March 26, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts. He began his career in his twenties, teaching acting classes in Hollywood and making brief TV and Film appearances. Leonard Nimoy was perhaps best known to the public and Sci-Fi fans as Spock from Star Trek.

Many Kingdom Hearts fans were hoping to see him reprise his role as Master Xehanort in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III, but sadly it was not meant to be. His final tweet said "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP" He will be missed. Live long and prosper.

This is truly a sad, sad day...not just for the roles that he played, or the movies, shows and games he appeared in...but a sad day for his family, his friends and his adoring fans.

Rest in Peace, Leonard Nimoy...may you forever prosper in the afterlife. :(

In his honour, we shall all Live Long and Prosper....goodbye, Spock...Xehanort...Leonard. *Does the Vulcan LLaP Gesture*

I feel priveliged to have had his voice in the KH series. I was never a fan of Star Trek, but I could tell that by the way people talked about him in it that he was well accomplished. Definitely a tragic day all around for both his family and his fans.

I'm not a big Star Trek fan either (I'm more into Star Wars) I was more familiar with Nimoy in his other works, including Kingdom Hearts and Galvatron in The Transformers: The Movie. I did see him in the 2009 Star Trek movie though.

Really sad day. When he was hospitalized with chest pains, the first thing I thought caused it was chronic obstructive pulmoney disease. Now I find out that was the cause. In February 2014, he was diagonosed with it(http://kh13.com/forum/topic/69978-leonard-nimoy-has-been-diagnosed-with-copd/?hl=copd), and now he's gone. I hope you young people take the necessary step to avoid this. Smoking has taken away another person earlier than planned. Don't let that be you.

Leonard Nimoy was an amazing person who made people, young and old, feel joy and laughter. He prospered and has now lived long. Time to take a long rest now. You deserve it. R.I.P

how is celebrating the man's career offensive?

Posting the scene of his character's funeral is what made me think it would offend people. Thats why I apologize in advance.

Darn it smoking!  You've claimed another victim!  Gives me another reason to hate it and never do it.

I've never seen the Star Trek shows and movies with him in it.  But I know he helped create a phenomenon unlike any other, and became one himself.  I hope everything goes well with his family and friends.

RiP, Live long and prosper Leonard Nimoy.

This is a truly sad day indeed.  When my best friend/soul brother Jonathan came over to my house today to visit, he told me that Leonard Nimoy had died, and at first, I couldn't believe it! I felt shock!  Then I told my dad about it, and we looked it up on Youtube, and it was true!  Leonard Nimoy had died! :(

This was a truly big blow for me and my dad.  My dad was a longtime fan of his back in the days of Star Trek, and well, that's how I learned about him, even though at the time, I was a child and I didn't watch Star Trek.  My dad always talked about the show and about how his favorite character was Spock.  Years later, when I play Birth By Sleep for the first time, I hear Master Xehanort's voice, and I feel a chill run down my spine.  When I see Nimoy's name in the credits, I think: "Hey, this is the guy who played Spock in Star Trek!"  Over the years, I became a big fan of his, and I noticed that I had indeed listened to his voice before in Atlantis: The Lost Empire way back when I was a kid, and I hadn't even known it was him!  I also heard his voice in a kids movie called Zambezia, if I'm not mistaken, and I saw him in the 2009 Star Trek film.  Nimoy was a great man and a wonderful actor, and well...to learn of his death, well, it hit pretty hard.

But alas, even though he has passed on, he shall forever be immortalized in all the roles he made during his career, and to us, the Kingdom Hearts fans, he'll always be the one and only Xehanort!  And you know, right now he would say: "Do not grieve, live long and prosper!"  May he rest in peace. :

My sincere condolences go to his family, friends and fans everywhere.

I was never big on Star Trek and my only exposure to it was The Next Generation but since then I learned of the original series and how Spock was a fan-favrote and he along with that crew was intramental in jumpstarting the modern science fiction genre as well as a legacy that continues to endure to this day along with a pletora of voice-overs including his most well known role as Master Xehanort.

I was always more of a Star Wars person but it is undenyable what this man has done and continued to do for the genre up until his passing. Your time is over now and it's time to join Bilbo Baggins in The Gray Havens.

The world feels alot less bright with him gone but as long as we keep him in our memories and hearts he'll never truly fade away.

Live long and prosper.

My other choices for Master Xehanort include Christopher Lloyd, Frank Welker, Christopher Plummber (Charles Muntz in UP), or any impersonator who is so good that you would not be able to tell the difference
