Kingdom Hearts 3D English eShop demo coverage

DChiuch

Last night, a demo for Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] was added to the Nintendo 3DS eShop in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The North American version allows for 30 free plays, while the other versions allow for 15. We definitely recommend that you download and play the free demo, however, if you can't do so for some reason, we have prepared the following summary of the demo for you.

The demo is split into two sections, the "Tutorial" and the main section. On the menu screen, you have the choice of which you would like to play. "Tutorial" lets you play through the very part of the game on Destiny Islands (as Sora), where you are on a raft, shown the controls of the game, and have a short boss battle with Ursula, ending with some more tutorials in Traverse Town. You can see a recording of the tutorial below, thanks to Limen123 from KH13.

The main part of the demo takes part in Traverse Town, again, playing as Sora. When you arrive in Traverse Town, you are treated to a cutscene between Sora and Neku. After that, you can explore Traverse Town and fight Dream Eaters, with the demo ending after you beat the Dream Eater boss in the world. You can see a recording of the main part of the demo below, thanks to ELTheGeek.

Here is the cutscene from the demo, thanks to Blike from KH13:

After you complete the demo, you are treated to one of many random "thank you for playing" screens, featuring Meow Wow. Awesome! Make sure you play through the demo multiple times in order to see each one.

Lastly, since we've received so many pieces of news today, we wanted to make sure that you check out each of the articles below (all of which were posted in the last day).

- Kingdom Hearts to appear at Japan Expo celebrating 10th Anniversary
- European version of Kingdom Hearts 3D to contain AR cards
- New "Flowmotion" Kingdom Hearts 3D trailer from Square Enix
- Kingdom Hearts 10th Anniversary soundtrack announced
- Kingdom Hearts 3D demo now available on Nintendo eShop

I love it so much that I'm planning to buy the actual game - despite not being a Sora fan in the slightest. I was against KH:3D at first, but I feel good about it seeing as none of my favourite characters get killed. :P

Played it once so far, although the lack of translated text for both Spain and Italy left a kinda bitter taste in my mouth while I was playing. That's a wound that'll take a while to stop aching.

Still, the game itself is beyond awesome regardless of this detail.

In the place on the map that is kind of lite up there is a pink dot and once sora stands over or near it a box will challenge link portal or something like that.

dont go back to the home menu on your 3DS.

I NEED MAH 3DS ;A;

*RUNS OFF TO GAMESTOP*

firetruck ORDERING, I NEED IT NOW.

Anyways, when is the demo GONNA end?

By ending, do you mean when it's going to be taken off the eShop? Never, I guess. If you mean when it's gonna end length-wise, well, I guess it depends on how long it takes for you to beat it. About 5-10 minutes?

It would be nice if Theatrhythm Demo is also available on NA eShop

Yeah. Lucky Europe. They get the KH3D and the Theatrhythm demo. :P

Took me a little bit to get used to the flowmotion and to figure out what the hell the link portal was.

, but definitely lots of fun. I'll have to play it many more times before the game is released. <3

Anyone know how to get the boss to break the glass roof? Because i was curious how to get into the planty area below it and then during one play through he decided to crash through and im like..... WOAAAAAHHHHH! *spazz* It felt random... because I dont think it's based on how long it takes to kill him... thoughts?

Also I can't help but laugh at Sora's suffering where the boss traps him and repeatedly punches Sora in the head xD idk why I find Sora abuse so funny.

It's when the boss is on his last life bar that he breaks the glass roof (and I absolutely love the cinematics for that, Just beautiful). And, no, I haven't played the demo ten times already to notice that pattern <.< >.>

And is it bad to say whenever I see that hammer I run towards it? :D

Why was it so short? I beat it in 15 minutes.

Its better than nothing isn't it?

Yeah it would've been nicer if it was longer, but i'm happy with having any of it.

i already played and beaten it over 100 times and played thu the tatoral a few times also you have a time limit when your dream eaters are koed Yes i let my dream eaters die in the demo so if it gets koed you have 30 secs to go to and rappidly tap A to revive him back at 1 hp if you do not there is a cool cynematic were he is engohed by light and turns into an item.

I like the flow motion, but the fact that you can glide forever kind of defeats the purpose of flow motion, am I right? But the flow motion is still fun for combat.
