New Main Story Content, Castle of Dreams world, and multiplayer mode coming to international version of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ in early 2017

It was announced through the international version of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ's notice board that many big updates will be coming to KHUX in the near future.

 

The first announcement was new main story content will be coming in January of 2017, featuring images of a KHUX player in Daybreak Town with Skuld, Chirithy, and the Anguis Foreteller followed by the teaser image previously shown for the one year anniversary of the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ and officially announced a few days after as the Castle of Dreams.

 

Next, it was confirmed that the multiplayer mode announced for the Japanese version of KHUX will also be coming to the international version in February of 2017. The notice explains "Party members will be able to stand side-by-side, and coordinate with each other to clear these quests!". The notice also includes a screenshot of what this mode looks like in development, which is included in the gallery below.

 

Proud Mode has also been announced for this version of KHUX, and is described as having "special conditions that will make clearing them [quests] a real challenge even for veteran players!" Those who do clear those quests will earn a new Keyblade, the Sleeping Lion.

 

Lastly, the development team promises that more exciting campaigns and events are planned and to stay tuned. Check out all the images from the notice below:

New main content story, and multiplayer mode are what I'm most excited for. Have a lot of work to do before the former is relevant to me though as I'm perpetually stuck in the 250's with story and no where near ready to attempt to face a Proud Mode challenge yet. Eventually though! It will be great to be able to play Multiplayer with my partner too, who I have dragged into the KH fandom, no regrets~

I'm thinking, we might be able to see Skuld before this year ends. And some other things I didn't experience in X[chi]. 

 

And for next year, it'll get to the more heavy stuff, thus X[chi]'s story will end. And Season 2 will begin.

 

And our one year anniversary, it probably going to be big!

No, that's not what it's saying. We'll at the very least get up to the point Skuld is introduced before then, but my guess is we'll get further than that because it implies Castle of Dreams is coming then.

No, that's not what it's saying. We'll at the very least get up to the point Skuld is introduced before then, but my guess is we'll get further than that because it implies Castle of Dreams is coming then.

No, we won't meet Skuld before Jan., the JP ver. has filler mission after we complete Beast Castle and we won't be starting Season 2 anytime soon. I feel bad for the people that didn't keep up with KH X if Back Cover talks about things that aren't in Unchained yet.

i agree with kingdomhe. the notice says new main story content will be delivered in jan 2017. quest 450 is the latest in Global UX right? since skuld is introduced at quest 536 and starting quest 526 quest batch was reduced to 15 quests/update which means 75 quests total until december. 
this should be interesting, since less quest batch usually means more event. and since proud mode is coming chance they will release events with Mickey & broom as reward.

Sweet! We will get to meet Skuld after all! Hopefully we'll still get some story updates before the year is over, filler or not. I'm actually kind of hoping for the Realm of Darkness events, that'd make a good way to kill time. Hopefully we don't have to complete too many proud mode missions to unlock Sleeping Lion. I really hope they still give us plenty of content over these next few months before Jan 2017. I also hope that the pacing of the story's events doesn't lead to confusion for anyone who wasn't keeping up with X once Back Cover is released, because if Unchained doesn't get around to recreating those events then there's got to be some way that they can give everybody the context necessary to understand the story from all perspectives.

Proud Mode is nearly impossible for people with terrible RNG. Our party members that still play INT actively don't even have a chance. Even for the very few who (also don't play anymore) did get a premium medal can't even guilt it. I don't know how they expect normal players to participate in Proud Mode.

Hopefully we don't have to complete too many proud mode missions to unlock Sleeping Lion. 

IIRC sleeping lion can be acquired within first ten quests. i don't remember which. the problem isn't getting it, but upgrading it. if JP has requirement "to clear all enemies within 1 turn" to get the electrum (material to upgrade), i won't be surprised if Global requirement would be "clear all enemies without attacking them".

since M&B isn't confirmed yet, let's put aside guilting medal for now. it's how many premium and wide range of medals you got for proud quest. for FTP with limited jewel their number of draw is limited while there's several nasty requirement for proud like "single target medal only" or "min.11 attack medal only". this require you to have wide varieties of medals which would be problem for FTP. interesting to see what SE NA will do before they released proud mode.

Co-op is something I know will be quite a hit for the game when the feature is available!  Proud Mode in this game looks like it'll be intimidating! I already thought we were having a tough challenge as is!  But if this isn't even the hardest the game is, then Proud Mode will kill us!
