Do You Think Square is Making Bad Decisions Concerning KH?

Recommended Posts

I recently found a lot of people complaining that a lot of what Square puts in their games, such as what they did with time travel in KH3D and saying that time in every world moves differently, is just an excuse to make up for their bad ideas.  Some of them were also complaining that KHX ruins the Keyblade War, among other things.  Do you think that there is any truth to this or not?  What are your thoughts on this?

Not Sqare Enix but Nomura

Tbh I don't think that all these things are THAT bad as many other think. It simply shows that Nomura hasn't planned out the whole story beforehand, and therefore plotholes, retcons and so one were created.

But since it's Kingdom Hearts I just got used to it over the time xD

But I think what SE is doing with Unchained X is bad, they're kinda forcing you to spend money on that game, or else you have no chance in any challenges whatsoever. That sucks, and really annoys me.

Well, plotholes are one thing, retcons are another. Plotholes are always bad if they are not "filled": even if it's just "he didn't plan the story beforehand", it's still a hole in your story. And DDD is not written well, whether or not you like the time travel stuff.

Yeah of course. But as I said, I got used to it. And it doesn't bother me that much, I just try to accept it.

No writer has the whole story written out before hand.  It's a stupid reason to complain about it.  People complain because they can.

This could not explain it any more perfectly. I agree 100%.

Well, I don't think they are bad decisions!  The whole idea about worlds running on different times is interesting!  Heck, our countries of the world run on different times! :P And I think X is doing a nice job of depicting the Keyblade War to us, ya know?  We still have Season 2 and Back Cover to look forward to, so I'm sure that the remaining pieces of the puzzle will fit in nicely!  Hey, no story is ever absolutely 100% perfect!  Nothing in this world is perfect! But I honestly think that KH's story is amazing, plotholes and retcons though there may be!  In my honest opinion, they aren't fatally noticeable to bother me, ya know? But that's just what I think! :3

You want to see Square Enix make bad decisions? look no further than this video...

Honestly, as far as Kingdom Hearts goes, it's a Nomura thing. Part of the reason as to why the story is so complicated is to engage discussion. By that premise, Kingdom Hearts is doing its job perfectly fine. It's not perfect, but at the end of the day, nothing ever is.

Sure, but at this point I've just learned to just roll with them. Things like the retcons usually didn't bother me (in some cases, are even preferable to what was established before), or I can at least tolerate them for the sake of following the story... like the time travel thing. Really wish that one didn't happen, but what can we do? At least Nomura writing by the seat of his pants is giving us a wild adventure.
