Name: Inazuma "Ina" Koyl

Bio: Ina was born in Radiant Garden, where she lived with her parents until Ansem the Wise's apprentices doomed the world to Darkness. Ending up in the Realm of Darkness, she fought to survive on her own as others who were with her slowly succumbed to the Darkness. On her own, she eventually was found by a Keyblade Master named Malnar, who had himself been trapped in the Dark Realm for years. The two became partners, and later master and apprentice after Malnar discovered that Ina could wield a Keyblade. They eventually made it out of the Dark Realm, though finding that time had gone quicker in the Realm of Light. While Malnar's armor and training had allowed him to escape the Dark Realm's effects relatively unscathed, Ina was...effected by the Darkness and traumatic events. Because of this, Malnar decided against trying to send Ina to the Keyblade Academy, and continued to teach her on his own, which suited Ina just fine. Recently, the Seekers of Light attacked the world they lived on. Malnar tried to fight them off, but was killed by them, allowing Ina to escape. Knowing that she couldn't defeat the Seekers on her own, Ina now searches for allies to take the Seekers of Light down!

Gonna give him combo skills. (Original ones). And Burst spells (Burst spells being sorta original meele exclusive).

Something like Xiro's idea works, too. You could just say he was distracted in the ship or something like that.
