Okay, this will be the official thread for our KH13 tournament from here we will discuss the details and set up the actual tournament. Depending on the success I might make this a regular thing. We will be playing the tournament via Pokemon Showdown.

This is simulator that also has a built in team builder. This way it will be fair for those who want a certain team but don't have time to EV/IV train mons.

As it stands right now these are our current competitors. All players please confirm your entry by posting your Pokemon Showdown account name, also follow the topic.

Competitors, this will be the place where we will arrange the battles and post our replays, so it's imperative that you follow the topic to keep up to date.I will routinely update this thread as we shape things up! First order of business is entry confirmation and deciding what style of format we're play.The poll is included so vote on what you want and we'll pick based on the most votes. Current Ruleset

  • 3 OU Pokemon Limit (Unanimously decided)
  • One team used for entire tournament(Majority decided)
  • You may adjust sets and items, barring mega stones. Mega stones are locked in once entered.
  • The Mega you enter must remain for the entirety of the tournament, unless you lose a match and switch that mega for another.
  • Losing teams may adjust up to two members of their party. 
  • Winners must keep the same team members

Round 1 Matches- Here is the first round of matches. Winners will be responsible for sharing replays, this is mandatory. Just save the replays and post them into the thread. Each contestant has until Saturday to arrange and play their match. Any player who fails to do so will automatically have a loss added to their record. If your opponent doesn't fit your schedule due time zones, send me an IM and I will either give you a new opponent or allow you more time. Good luck everyone and remember have fun!

Okay guys, first things first. How do we want to structure the tournament. Do you want to have everyone to battle every competitor once and the top four won-loss records advance to the semi-finals? Or straight bracket style elimination.

 

I'm down for a standard bracket - with clashing time zones, it's the best way to ensure this doesn't drag out too long.

I'd prefer to battle everyone, I think it would be better, but if for whatever reason, like the tournament becoming too long or problems with timezones, I'm also ok with standard direct elimination

I think that elimination style could cause a bit of drama and people getting upset. Battling everyone is much friendlier in my opinion, although as Ajexmi said, it could take ages to finish.

 

I would go with battling everyone.

How about we do friendlies for a bit, so people can have a bit more time to prep for the tournament. We all get to battle each other and give some advice, then we compete on fairer terms. But teams will have to stay the same other than movesets or items

That could be done. The only bad thing about that is that when the actual tournament starts we'll already know what pokémon the other people will be using.

 

But yeah, I like the idea, I would rather have it this way in fact.
