AzureAce 544 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) So I think we're all in agreement that the orchestrated soundtracks of Kingdom Hearts I FINAL MIX and Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX in 1.5 and 2.5 respectively were easily some of the best in Kingdom Hearts' history. But the question now stands. Will Dream Drop Distance's soundtrack get Re-Orchestrated like KHIFM and KHIIFM did? I would hope so because hearing songs like The Dread of Night and L'Impeto Oscuro as an orchestration would be amazing. It would also be nice to hear Re-Orchestrations of Night of the Dark Dream and Night of Tragedy in 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage- What do you guys think? Do you think Square will allow Yoko Shimomura to Re-Orchestrate the Dream Drop Distance OST for 2.8 and the PS4? Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted August 27, 2016 Yeah I think it would be strange if the OST wasn't re-orchestrated. Peace!
MythrilMagician 6,963 Posted August 27, 2016 Dream Drop Distance had a great soundtrack. It would be a shame if there wasn't an orchestra version of it.
RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted August 27, 2016 Some of them except the Fantasia tracks and the ending credits...
Isaix 924 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) I think DDD sounds great as it is,but maybe they'll do something like ReCOM and BBS and remaster only a couple of themes, but it'd be great if they could somehow make the soundtrack even better Edited August 27, 2016 by Isaix
KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted August 27, 2016 I think so. She might have reorchestrated a few pieces.
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted August 28, 2016 (edited) I agree with everyone, it'd be awesome if we heard DDD's soundtrack in re-orchestrated form! I bet it'd sound fantastic! Just imagine how amazing Oscurita dell'Ignoto, Distant From You, La Cloche, and Le Sanctuaire would sound like!? Gahhh, I really hope Yoko Shimomura re-orchestrated these already amazing tracks! Sendou Aichi 2,356 Posted August 28, 2016 Since the game really isn't that old, I guess that only some of the OST will be re-orchestrated, but just a select few themes(Xemnas and Young Xehanort's boss themes, for example) Yeah I think it would be strange if the OST wasn't re-orchestrated. Peace! Reiji would be happy.
Kinode 3,056 Posted August 28, 2016 I honestly doubt it. They barely remastered BBS's tracks and DDD's were mostly recorded with live instruments anyway, so there wouldn't be that much payoff overall. As much as I'd like to see it happen, it's actually something really expensive to do and I doubt they'd do it to remaster just a couple of tracks. Unless Back Cover has an entirely new soundtrack(As if it were an actual animated movie), I don't see it.
Adam DR 11 Posted August 29, 2016 I honestly hope they remix some tracks
LightKeyDarkBlade 72 Posted August 29, 2016 According to VGMdb, only 6 tracks are orchestrated in KHDDD OST out of a total of 52 tracks. There are some others which are done with instruments but not orchestrated. We also have some new tracks from χBC (χ and Uχ) and perhaps 0.2 as well. Some tracks from 0.2 were taken from BbSFM so this is their chance to re-orchestrate them. They also have a chance to appear in KHIII. We have OSTs on every single KH game except for the original CoM and coded since they're remade. So I don't see why not. The 1.5 and 2.5 HD Remasters have their own OSTs. Why not this 2.8 which has a HD Remaster as well as new additional contents?

I have a good feeling that all of the Xehanort battle themes will be re-orchestrated so that's three out of the six covered.

Yeah, considering that this whole saga is about Xehanort. After they're re-orchestrated here, they could be used again in KHIII or maybe different variations of them like what they did with Destati. They has to be an OST for 2.8 with re-orchestrated tracks.
