How can I be hyped for this game?

There's no news for it,the last time we got something was December so why should I be excited again? I say this because some people in this community have the mindset of;

 

If you aren't hyped for kingdom hearts 3 every single day then you don't deserve to be in this community! You should love every single game in the franchise and think the franchise is completely perfect!

 

 

I'm still going to buy the game on day 1 more than likely, but there's no news so I shouldn't feel inclined to make a topic or a theory every single day. When more footage gets released I'll express interest if I want to.

 

No one should feel forced to make topics or theories about KH3 just because this is a kingdom hearts website. We don't have to be hyped 24/7 if we don't want to be. There's not really much to be excited about at the moment.

 

I have no issue if you want to make threads all the time about KH3 and make theories, I'm not hating on that. But those who don't want to shouldn't feel inclined.

Nice words and you actually speak the truth. The reason why I am hyped for KH3 at the moment is, because we are getting KH2.8. I know that sounds weird, but let me explain.

 

Since KH0.2 will be very close to the graphics and combat of KH3 and both KH3D & KHXBackcover are going to connect to KH3 this games makes me hyped about KH3 because I know once I have finished 0.2 I want to have more since it will not be enough to satisfy my thirst for some Next Gen KH Gameplay

I absolutely love Kingdom Hearts. I love the gameplay in most of the games, the worlds, the designs, the music and much more. I love the franchise. But the story is completely bonkers. Being able to recognize this doesn't take away from the fact that you're a fan. It shows that you care and only wants what you view as best for the franchise. A fan doesn't blindly accept everything the creators throw at them; a fan knows when the creators are being lazy and treats your favorite thing unfairly and won't stand for.

It's this kind of attitude that gives the community a bad name, and one we should get rid of. I never understood how some think they can exclude certain fans or followers of this franchise because they aren't as obsessed with the series as they are. Frankly, it's a stupid way of thinking.

I stopped paying attention to Kingdom Hearts III way back in 2014, I'll be interested again when it's actually near release. I don't keep my mind on something I'm not going to have anytime soon, no matter how much I care about it.

I need to be hyped 24/7 for the game otherwise I would lose interest and forget about it. I literally forgot about KH3 until they showed the action figure and the KHX art.

I love the KH series and games, but I'm sure everyone's probably noticed by now that I hardly ever post in the KH forums, let alone start any new threads.  I'm not much of a theories person so I don't really get into that, plus I'm looking forward to KH3 but not necessarily that excited.  You'll find some people that post KH threads often, but I'm not seeing the majority having THAT much hype for KH3, let alone expecting it of others.  Perhaps it is just me, but I'm not really seeing the expectation of "you have to be ecstatic about KH3 or you suck!" among the forums, or at least not within this community.

Yeah of course people are allowed to enjoy the story of Kingdom Hearts. I do to a certain degree, but even though I don't enjoy all of it, others are welcome to do so. However, the people I'm referring to are those kinds of people who eat up any sort of shit makers of a product put out.

Aside from the poll of the day, I don't post KH related topics very often. I haven't in a while. That will probably change once 2.8 is released and/or we get information on future games. To be honest, the best part of this site is being able to talk to people who have a lot of similar interests. The main one is Kingdom Hearts, but a lot of those fans have other things in common.

The fact that we are getting news 1 year after we received the last KH3 news is what keeps me hyped. This peaceful time gives the KH team the ability to still work on KH3 and 2.8 without being rushed to present the news. I think December is a good time to present huge news to the community and get us hyped. I don't expect any new titles after 2.8, so more than likely, we have all of 2017 to also be filled with KH3 news. (E3 2017, D23 in CA, Gamescom, TGS, D23 Japan, PlayStation Experience, Jump Festa, etc).

Recently I've lost hype because I actually think I won't like KH3 as much as previous titles. I feel like I won't enjoy the gameplay as much and it's kind of depressing.

You make a good point, Shinobi!  I mean, I myself love the Kingdom Hearts series to death, but when there's no recent news or developments to speak about, well, that's that!  I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm hyped as hell for Kingdom Hearts III, and I love to dabble around in the forums and see what theories and speculation members are cooking up, but well, let's face it!  When dry season comes, there's nothing much to do! I've posted lots of topics regarding the Kingdom Hearts series, but I don't do it every single day, ya know? I do the topics when I know what I'm going to write, ya know?

 

In the meantime, I'm just enjoying life, enjoying all the other video games I play, watching the anime and cartoons and TV shows I watch, and I'm always chilling on this wonderful site, plus, I have a job, so all these things help keep my mind busy from Kingdom Hearts III!  I mean, just look, only 4 months left till we get those KHIII announcements we've been waiting for, ya know?  Those months will fly by!

Dream Drop Distance actually acts as a set up for KH3... well, so does BbS2, but think of KH3 as a whole new numbered Kingdom Hearts game with the plot points in DDD being the main focus. A new numbered title couldn't be that bad, considering 1 and 2 were the best quality KH games. They're the most popular too because the numbered titles are the titles that gain the most attention to by fans and even the developers as well. The other titles act as mini chapters that help fill in any loose ends and answer questions a̶n̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶e̶x̶c̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶k̶e̶e̶p̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶3̶. But because of this, I expect for 3 to be just as great quality as the other numbered titles, so no worries. I'm not saying any of the KH games were terrible btw, some were just obviously not as good quality as others, especially the numbered.

that was more of a joke post than a serious post.

 

although it's interesting to compare KH3's potential quality to KH1 and KH2's success. While all three games are mainline numbered entries, KH1 and KH2 had the advantage of not coming after 5 games ranging from bad to serviceable. they had less plot points to explain and more time to develop the new ones they brought to the table. they weren't bogged down by the combined story of 5 previous games. 

 

KH1 was the first, so it's all good. KH2 had to follow up CoM, which wasn't a big deal because if you never played CoM you could easily start to grasp the idea of what was going on after the first couple of hours. KH3, on the other hand, has plot points coming from Days, BBS, Re:Coded, DDD and Unchained X. It's all being funneled into KH3's story and that's a lot to work with. 

 

at this point i'd say it's safer to wager that the combat will be more enjoyable than the story, at least depending on what you find entertaining in a story obviously, because as you said there would most likely be more attention on the game due to it being a numbered title. hopefully that means more attention will be placed on making the combat not terrible.

True. DDD's story was so nonsensical that it completely turned me off from the main story entirely. I mean BBS already contradicted stuff from the first two games, but 3D just went completely off the rails.

Couldn't agree more. We got news coming this winter, let's wait until then and get steadily prepared for 2.8. The final prelude to Kingdom Hearts III.
