Let's show everyone that KH13 is above spouting hatred!

 

Let's all take a moment to appreciateee the staff members Article writers, mods, social media team members and everyone else

(besides the traitor) (I joke, the traitor gets a pass this time)

 

The staff work hard to make this site a really friendly environment wether it be writing articles or playing avoid the modswith us! (Or editing my joke posts in the random section *cough Lea) We do take it for granted sometimes, it's hard to find a down to earth community like this one and tbh KH13 is a LARGE portion of the community .

 

I've had some great memories on this site like meeting my best pal Felixx (Aka the traitor)

I appreciate this site cause I got to meet some awesome people! The following

 

Mythril is the coolest Austrailan person ever! He has a really awesome accent too .

 

Oh and Amy is just ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Firstly, I'd like to say a BIIIIIIIIIIGGGG MAHOOOOSIIVE THANK YOU to Flaming Lea This gal is probably one of the most patient, kind, firm, head screwed on damn tight people I ever known. And I needed that! Badly. I was doing stupid shit over and over and over, without realising, without stopping and thinking and I needed some cool off time to help me get that.She could've easily had it out for me, I could have gotten in so much trouble but we had a massive conversation and I like to think that I'm a little better now than before. Thanks mate :)Shoutout to all the mods except Felixx for being awesome and putting in so much effort when they could easily just not give a damn. Awwwww. Thanks for the appreciation guys!!This site was one of two major things (the other being my school's Foreign Language Residence Program dinners) that got me through a very hard time with my OCD when it skyrocketed through the roof. It has made me laugh, turned bad days into good, and gave me a great friend (hay Flaming Lea) that can understand at least some of what I was going through. I have truly enjoyed getting to know all of you. I love this place and I'm so happy to be part of the staff that makes this site so wonderful. You guys are the best!

So here's the thing: I've had my account here for just over five years now, actually it was Cricket who told me to join all those years ago and we haven't actually talked in years since then so that's how long ago that was. But part of the reason I didn't stick around was because the site felt very unwelcoming if I'm being honest. Everyone was already friends and had been for a while and as a new member it felt like everyone was already against you. So after making a few posts and no one was replying to them and I wasn't making any friends or anything I just sort of drifted away.But recently I really got back into KH again and decided to come back and make some posts. And now it's awesome! I've had some incredible conversations from of course talking about the games, to sharing and discussing writing tips and formatting with other writers here and even having decent conversations about politics. Now it really feels like everyone's opinion as long as it's presented in a respectful way is welcome. And it's easier to make friends. Since the staff members are the ones responsible for keeping the site that way, I have to tip my hat to them. And I'm not even wearing a hat. As someone who has been a moderator in an active community before. I know it's a thankless job where you get hate from people who don't like what you do. But this really is a great community you guys have built up here. You should be proud of yourselves. This place helps a lot of people.I went into the forum lounge and browsed a few pages back and there's people sharing stories about how they are depressed or there's just really bad things going on in their life and the amount of support they get from members is pretty incredible. I mean this forum could very well save that person's life. You're like a modern day super hero. That's pretty amazing when you think about it.

I can't agree with this enough. When I first joined, the site was laden with cliques and felt like an old boy's club, where if you weren't part of the in-crowd, then it was very hard to be noticed or make new friends. And given that a good number of the mods were part of these cliques, it was hard to get any kind of help if you weren't part of their crew (I can distinctly remember someone saying that if you were being offended, you shouldn't be on the internet). The tone of the site is drastically different now, and all for the better. It is more welcoming, more open, and a lot of that has to do with the mods making an active effort to keep people civil and make sure that anyone can come here and have a good time. A special shout-out to Shana and Lea is in order, and all of the people they've brought in and trained, because it has made it a fun experience to come to the site each day, rather than wondering what new status wars are erupting.
