- Soren Monroe, Servant of Shiva's Will (Just remembered that technically, Eclaire would be the Will of Shiva.) - Mystras, Raiden's Odin's Villa -

Mariel didn't say much, yet the few words spoken hurt Soren, serving as a grim reminder of his failings in life. Soren hardly had the best interactions with Angels in his life, it came with the territory, but he couldn't help but feel, or rather know, that his with this Guardian Angel were some of the worst he's ever experience in no small part to himself and an overbearing idiocy...one he was glad to be rid of as she leaned upon the wall.

"More than you'd think or care to believe, Mariel. Those here only know of the Source of All Life because of me..." Soren then became apprehensive, guilt settling snugly upon his soul like an overbearingly overweight pet on his lap. "It may not mean much at this point, but for what it's worth...I am sorry. For all that I have done, angel." He spoke clearly, despite the butterflies in his stomach, initially looking away, but attempting eye contact should she accept when he uttered his apology, regret plastered all upon his countenance.

Like Mariel and others present however, Soren too felt a disturbance in the force when someone entered the room, one that only conveyed an eerie weight upon the otherwise calm atmosphere, for it felt...wrong, though it paled in comparison to that of Shiva's Assassin, it still stirred his gut. It wasn't long before he laid eyes upon the source of his unease: It was...Lord Raiden? The Lord of Mystras was immediately different to Soren and eerily reminiscent of something, or someone, he had heard of before. A grasp of his arm did little to surprise Soren, who had already been shocked into reality, though he met Helios's gaze with a soft head turn.

"I know...I felt it too, Helios...take it slow, he seems shaken." Soren warned, eyeing Raiden closely as Helios approached, ready to act if necessary. He couldn't quite put his finger on what really made him uneasy, but for the sake of giving an old friend the benefit of the doubt, Soren waited for Odin to explain himself. Despite his stated observation, Soren noted in his head that Raiden was uncharacteristically calm, for having a severe eye injury.

- Meksis, the United, Armour of Twilight - Kilkis Seres, Palace Gates, Battle of Two Brothers -

Though his attack was successful, the damage to Maxis's face simply regenerated as he blocked Meksis's final attacks, holding his weapons in place, right before teleporting behind Meksis, who stumbled, then swiftly turned to face Maxis, who had neglected to do him the same honour. But then, something happened that shook Meksis to his core: Ariel's energy began manifesting from Maxis's body...her exact power, her essence, captured by his blood brother in perfect emulation. Meksis took a step back in shock, but before he could say anything, Maxis flashed in front of him and successfully delivered a crushing uppercut, knocking Meksis firmly on his posterior, rolling across the ground for a bit as he struggled to get back up, for Maxis had somehow winded a suit of armour, leaving him 'coughing' as he tried to listen to Maxis from then on.

As he spoke, Meksis slowly began to pick himself up from the ground. "I only remember...the swiftness...o-of going from life...to deactivation...nothing more about the process, *cough*, because, u-unlike other second generations, I was willingly deactivated...that...that much was certain..." Meksis then wiped residual Madness Energy from his chest, letting out a weak chuckle when Maxis reminisced over his absorption of the Mad God. "Indeed...*dry cough* How he screamed...!"

Any potential joy however was taken away when Maxis mentioned Ariel's return, as a twisted, fallen angel, who had to be put out of her misery by a now grieving Maxis. The Illusionist then utterly surprised Meksis, when he explained that he had to consume Ariel as well...hence her aura persisting amidst his own strengths. The passing mention of a "Third Generation" of Armours didn't help either, with the only successful Third Gen being lost just as all other armours were besides he and Maxis. Though it was the subsequent breakdown over his most recent Master, Shiva, that began to elicit a feeling that Meksis wasn't usually allowed to feel...

Fear.

Meksis tried to get a word in, gesturing insistently at Maxis, who ranted, raved and despaired over Queen Shiva, beginning to lose himself entirely to misery before Meksis's very eyes...until the unthinkable happened. Maxis surrendered to the Mad God's Will. The Mad God spoke through his newfound puppet as he simply gestured, forcing Meksis to a knee with sheer force of power, not being able to react fast enough to defeat the kick to the face, thus, Meksis was sent flying once more, grunting in pain as the God raved on once more, spitting on Maxis's name and by extension, Shiva and Ariel. As he attempted to get back up, Mad!Maxis flashstepped behind Meksis and punched him in the back, sending him flying once more, but this time, Meksis's aura flared and he righted himself in mid-air, extending both wings afterward as he floated back down to the ground, anger now at the forefront of his heart.

"So long as I live, Maxis will never be gone!!" Meksis declared, summoning his weapons back to his hands in a brilliant display of Light and Darkness. "But now I have no choice...but to not hold back my full strength, Mad God!" Soon, something occurred to Meksis, but he would ask this later, as he immediately charged at the Mad Maxis, preparing another frontal sword barrage. When he went for the first swing however, Meksis feinted with a feather-ridden teleport behind Maxis, then to his left, right, front, then finally back again with a crushing elbow to the spine almost instantly after he did, followed with a reverse shield bash and a Stinger, a flash-step like charge with the point of his blade toward Maxis, to knock him down again.

"I only ask one thing of you...what is your true name, God of Madness and Chaos Incarnate?" For reasons unknown to anyone present, the Defiled reared his head for the last words, clearly as enraged as Meksis himself at this whole ordeal.

- Nergal, the Queenslayer - Kilkis Seres, Royal Palace, All Alone -

As Yevgeni made himself clear, Nergal could only sigh, but not in exasperation, rather regret. Despite his intentions, he had left a bad taste in the Elf's mouth, so he gave Yevgeni a reassuring shoulder grab and spoke softly.

"All right, fair enough...you've made your point abundantly clear...I shouldn't have embarrassed you, my friend. I withdraw my previous comment and wish to say that I am sorry, Yevgeni. Above all else, I want you to be sure in your trust and faith in my abilities and my care for you."

Nergal got the sense that Yevgeni didn't quite know how to be a friend, per say, not all learn the intricacies so quickly if at all. It had also become apparent that Yevgeni either forgot or didn't know that Nergal could sense a persons inner turmoils. If he could sense Ariana within Henry, then he could sense Yevgeni's faltering trust in Nergal that he was trying desperately to hide. He would not tell him this however, for Nergal hoped he could instead rekindle this trust over time, perhaps as they left for Isopolis.

"Shiva was...many things to me, as well. A Monarch. A Mother to her child. A mighty warrior. An...unfortunate victim of circumstance. My, delight, was overwhelming emotion boiling over to the surface, Yevgeni. For five thousand years, I've not known what it is to truly...feel, until my battle with a man called Alastor, the Storm Bringer. He brought me within an inch of my life and in that moment, I never felt more alive. So much so, it restored all that I had lost when Meksis abandoned me."

Even if Yevgeni didn't feel up to being open with Nergal right now, Nergal hoped his own confessions would help in this matter.

"But it truly was overbearing for quite a while, my friend. The slightest thing would bring me much in the way of feelings, so imagine what it was like taking a life? More to the point, a life of such grandeur? Of such, resplendence? I did indeed take joy in it, at first at least...yet now, I miss her. I hardly knew her, but I can feel the Overworld's pain...and it has become my own. I know it had to be done and I would do it again, Yevgeni. I promise you that. I too would rather put this behind us, comrade."

Nergal then gestured kindly to Yevgeni as he had to depart to meet with the Noble Retainer of the Queen, to explain his current "plight" to dissuade her and allow them to press on with the final stages of their plan.

Jynn and Dawson-Odin’s Villa

Alicia and Typhon seemed interested in the slinger Jynn had. Typhon asks if it was edible, with Dawson quickly replies. “Sure, if you like eating metal for some reason.” Jynn raises his arm with the gadget. “It is a device used by hunters nowadays. It launches projectiles and even has a grapple hook. I myself never needed it, I had wings at the time. But the guild wanted me to have it as a souvenir.”

Alicia seemed just as interested in it as well, asking if the prince would teach her how to use it after they go to Isopolis. Jynn nods, patting her back. “Sure. To be honest, it’s kinda fun to use it.” In the background, Typhon laughs and tugs on Dawson, obviously believing the interaction with Jynn and Alicia is a bit more intimate than just small talk. Dawson reciprocates, laughing as well, although he is just trying to embarrass Jynn.

Soon, Raiden appears once again, but something about him seems.......... different.

(That’s all I got right now)

- Odin, Mystras, returning to everyone's company -

Odin glanced about with his good eye, finding distrust that all was well with him within the company of men and women around him.  This was to be expected.  Raiden's key attribute was not analysis and tactics, but leadership, and he invoked many bonds with those allied to him.  This attribute was potent in reading individuals, but such strength worked both ways, in that others could read him better as well.  This flawed viewpoint of leadership had to be stricken from his person, whether it be slowly through withdrawal from company or fast through active killing of his allies.  He could not show such weakness as dependence on others.  It would have detracted from him to a fatal point, but for now he had to play the part.

"Yes, Arthur.  We should be ready now once Hisie comes back.  My apologies for keeping you all waiting," he voiced to the gathering through difficult breaths, offering a slight bow to the group as he did so.  He paused before continuing.  "While I left, an attempt had been made on my life, though I managed to fend him off almost unscathed with just a little eyestrain.  The attack was a friend of many centuries.  He showed his true colours and tried to corner me, so . . . I am a little shaken, to say the least."

Odin felt a faint buzzing from within, but not one of a physical nature.  Instead, it felt like the two parts of him, both Raiden and Teshub, were still listening in, and roiling or enjoying matters as a result.  With crushing willpower, he stoppered the palpable emotions coming from the both of them and quelled the distraction.

- Helios & Arthur - In Raiden's Study - /w everyone else who is at Raiden's study -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kZormFa0iU

- Some time ago -

"You shouldn't have lied." The voice sounded otherwordly, the echo of multiple voices speaking at once. The beast of lightning stood tall, his body surrounded by the lightning that made him as he watched his son. Time had stopped for everyone, and after he had given his goodbyes, now he stood in front of Arthur, staring at his son's expression of shock. "I lied?" "You know you cannot return." The voices spoke, echoing around him. The lightning beast stared down at the face of his son, frozen in time. He held his son's face gently, resting his forehead against his. "Can't I stay?" He whispered. "You know that you can't, for the sake of the world. Odin is soon to arrive, and we must prepare to give what needs to be given to avoid disaster." The voices spoke. The man nodded, frowning as he hugged Arthur tight. "I wish I could tell him so much for having so little time." He whispered, tears escaping his eyes. "You have truly become like a human." The voices noted. The beast hummed. "Maybe I have." He said, taking a deep breath. "I don't regret any of it." He confessed, closing his eyes. "One day you'll understand, Arthur, the responsibility that has been bared upon you. I wish it could have been different." He admitted, the electricity around him slowly shifting into Arthur's skin. The beast began to disappear, only leaving words and tears behind. "Stay strong, my son...only then will you understand." With that, the beast of lightning was no more, giving what remained of his life and power to his heir as time began to turn again, leaving Arthur none the wiser of what had just transpired.

Arthur gasped. Hold on-did he just say attacked?! "You were attacked?!" He asked, obviously concerned as he stepped closer to the monarch. He listened that he was alright, but even then, an attack was nothing to just brush off. "You are truly amazing, lord Raiden, but are you sure you're alright? Shouldn't we call for a doctor or a healer? Or send someone to find them?" Arthur asked. He looked up to Raiden ever since he had arrived. The lord had been kind to him and his people and humanity as a whole, going as far as to go to war for their sake. A father figure of sorts, as he saw in sir Alastor and king Alderon. But...even he knew that something was wrong in this picture. Helios stepped up. "Attacked? By who?" He asked, taking the chance to step closer to the lord. Yup. His scent was muddied. It was Raiden...but there was a whole new smell added to it. His pupils seemed to turn into slits for a mere moment before he blinked them back to normal. He wouldn't attack. He couldn't. Instead he took a step back to Soren's side, his eyes remaining on Raiden.

--King Alderon and Princess Athena -- Raiden's Villa--

The king had just finished outfitting himself in fine mythril, when Rabiyu's knock sounded upon his door.  A frown furrowed his brow.  Were more people coming to proffer their condolences?  He'd had about as much pity as he could take.  The human king began to make a motion for the door, but before he could do so the door swung open for him.  For a moment he stood stock still, face slackened and a blank slate.  There she stood: his beloved daughter, silk dress tattered and auburn hair matted, but it was his beloved daughter all the same.  And no longer cursed at that!  His jaw dropped, entirely lost for words.

"Father!"

He nearly fell to the floor when the princess tackled him in a bear hug, sobbing deeply into his chest plate.  It took him a moment to respond, though when he had tears fell from his eyes as well.  He wrapped his arms tightly around his daughter, kneeling so that she no longer had to stand on tiptoe.

"Athena . . . ."  he eventually voiced.  "You're alive, and look at you"--he ran his gauntleted fingers through her hair, patting at her scalp where her ears had once been--"your curse has been broken."

"These wonderful people helped me," Athena responded, pulling away from her father enough to nod in Rabiyu, Aura, (and Rufus'?) direction.  The king's gray eyes followed her motion, bringing his gaze up to meet with the others.

"Hisie, Aura," he managed, shaking his head in disbelief.  "You have no idea what this means to me.  My dear daughter, my . . . ."  He was unable to finish as tears consumed him again, causing him to shake violently.  Athena tenderly patted him on the shoulder, offering Rabiyu and Aura an apologetic look.

"My apologies," she murmured, biting her lip.  "He is not normally like this."

Her words seemed to bring Alderon back to his senses, as he regained part of his composure shortly thereafter.  He rose and moved over to Rabiyu, (Rufus?), and Aura, only to kneel once more and kiss each of the ladies' hands.  "You have returned to me that of which I hold most dear," he said.  "And for that you have my eternal gratitude.  I will reward you handsomely once my kingdom is restored, as well as grant you both any wish that is in my power to grant.  You need only say the words."

- Rabiyu and Aura - Raiden's Villa - Alderon's room -

Aura was very surprised at the change that the king had. Once upon a time she had thought the man ruthless and harsh, worried only with important topics regarding his own power over his people. But this? this made her really realize that even a man such as him was still that, a man. One capable of feeling sadness and joy, just like any other person. Both she and her elf companion walked into the room and waited until the king was ready. The young woman felt both awkward and confused when King Alderon kneel once more and kissed each of their hands, then offering a handsome reward for their deed. At this Rabiyu held the king's hand and helped him to stand up.

"There is no need for such reward, king, as your gratitude is more than enough to show your appreciation. I thought it would be in our best interest that you reunited with your daughter before we left to Isopolis," Rabiyu said while looking at Alderon, "Now that we know what the shrine holds, I am sure the risks of trespassing into it will be evident to all by now. I merely wish for your mind to be at peace in this difficult task that we have ahead of us."

"What she meant to say is that we are happy that the princess is well and safe now, and that she is finally cured of her curse and back with her father. Apparetly she was under the custody of the regent of Kilkis Seres," Aura said, "which is a great surprise when you think about it."

"I think it is time for us to return to the study. The time to leave is drawing near. I will give you and your daughter some time together, but I must ask that you do not take to much time to return. By your leave, Your Majesty," Rabiyu said while bowing.

"If you excuse us," Aura said without bowing, "we will let you have some privacy."

Aura was the first to leave the room while Rabiyu stopped at the door. She stood there for a few seconds before finally turning around to face the king and his daughter.

"We fey may live for a long time, and I am sure humans will think that is a blessing, but that also means that once something is lost it will remain that way for a very long, long time. Our lives are both a blessing and a curse in that regard., Rabiyu said while looking at the young princess, "Your daughter is young and inexperienced in the way the world moves, but I am sure that she could be a great queen someday. She showed that to me mere moments ago, when she wished for a way to restore your home rather than to cure her affliction. It shows that she cares for others, even when she has suffered. You have a good daughter, king, never forget what she means to you."

The white haired elf turned around once more, grabbed the knob and closed the door, then she followed Aura towards the study. It took only a moment but along the way Aura asked Rabiyu if she could hold onto the lamp for the time being, the reason being that it would be hard for her to conceal the item, Rabiyu accepted, as it would be safer inside her own pocket dimension. Both girls finally arrived at the study, Aura was the one who opened the door. She was about to speak but she immediately sensed something was different once her eyes saw Raiden. She scanned the room until she found Helios and made her way to him.

"Did something happened while we were gone?" Aura whispered to Helios.

Rabiyu, on the other hand, stood at the entrance, staring at Raiden, or rather, Odin, without saying anything, until she felt the hand of Sifrei on her shoulder.

"Is everything alright?" Sifrei asked Rabiyu, "You left quite suddenly."

"Yes. Yes, everything is alright. I just had to speak with Aura for a moment," She said while turning her attention to Raiden/Odin, "Your Lordship, I wish to report that the daughter of king Alderon, princess Athena, has been retrieved by means of a wish I made. I am sure that with this situation King Alderon will be in a better state of mind for our journey into the shrine of Isopolis. We also learned that the princess was in custody of Yevgeni Malachite, who told the princess that he would return her to her father, which I am not entirely sure was true or not. I think we should be ready to leave once the king come back."

- Helios & Arthur - In Raiden's Study - /w everyone else who is at Raiden's study -

Helios turned to welcome Aura. He approached her quickly leaning in and whispering in her ear. "Lord Raiden left, and returned...differently. He claims to have been attacked, yet he seems to be much too calm about it...something's not right with him. Soren senses that too." He whispered, eyeing at Lord Raiden. "Keep your distance from him...something's off." He repeated, straightening his back as he glanced back at Raiden. However, it was what tey announced about the king and the princess that caught his attention. "What?" He asked, gasping in surprise. "I thought...Djinns could not bring people back from the dead?" He asked, looking over at Rabiyu. Then they learned that she was never actually dead, instead at the hands of the Kilkis Seres regent before they wished for her to be here. Arthur could be heard gasping, his eyes wide as his body seemed to shake. "Athena is alive?" He asked, whispering a bit. He moved past Lord Raiden, and straight to Rabiyu. "She's alive? And she's here? In Mystras?!" He asked, sounding almost desperate, as if he were trying to confirm that this was more than just a dream. "You saved Athena." He whispered, stepping closer as he reached out, grabbing a hold of Rabiyu's hands. "Can I see her? Where is she?" He asked, his knees shaking as he bowed his head. "Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" He said, his voice a bit shaky, but still standing. "Thank you for wishing for our princess, Rabiyu! I wish for a thousand blessings on you!"

- Rabiyu, Aura, Sifrei - Raiden's Study -

"I noticed that too. He feels...different, his scent is the same but different at the same time, and I am sure Rabiyu thinks the same, " Aura whispered back, "Don't worry, I will keep my eyes open just in case something happens."

Rabiyu was about to answer Helios when Arthur walked closer to her and grabbed her hands, the second person who had done that that day. The young boy looked both surprised and relieved to learn that the princess was alive, Rabiyu didn't understood why he was thanking her, nor why was he so happy to learn of such news. She, nonetheless, offered a curtsy nod.

"Yes, the princess is alive and well. She is currently with her father in his room. And I am sure that you can see her, if you go to His Majesty's chamber," Rabiyu said while looking at Arthur, "Although I would recommend to give them some time together. The king just learned that his daughter is alive, and that her curse has been removed thanks to a wish she made with the wishing lamp, not without first trying to wish for the restoration of the human world, of course."

"So the princess is back to her human form?" Sifrei asked, "That's even better news."

"Indeed. I offered her the chance to wish for her curse to be broken, but she instead wanted to see if restoring her world was possible. Once she learned that doing that would require more powerful magic she wished for her curse to be broken," Rabiyu answered, "She is a good girl, I can see that. The suffering she must have endured during her time being cursed by the Black Witch must have been awful, and yet, she was more worried about the rest of the people. She is back to normal now, so the king can focus on the trip to Isopolis better now."

Jynn and Dawson-Odin’s Villa

A bit concerned about Raiden’s suspicious calmness, Jynn steps in front of Alicia, slightly holding his arm in front of her and the rest of his group. But his concerns were interrupted by Rabiyu and Aura. He was quiet during the entire interaction between everyone.

Jynn thinks about what Rabiyu and Aura said about using wishes to get Athena back. Using Djinnis for wshes, it was a subject he thinks very lowly of, believing that everyone should work for what they want, like he always did. But at the same time, he couldn’t help but think of one thing he would want to wish for, something he wants back so badly. He couldn’t help but scratch the area where his previous wings would’ve been on his back.

- Mad God - Maxis's Remains - Battle in the mind -

"Oh please do, i've been waiting for you to put up a fight for a while now." The mad god taunted Meksis, clearly egging him on. As Meksis rejected the thought of Maxis being one, the Mad god simply looked at Maxis's armor he now had posession over. As Meksis attacked, with a well acted feint maneuver and a teleport behind him, then in front, and the side, trying to throw the Mad god off as he appeared behind him to deliver an elbow to its spine. However the moment Meksis threw the elbow, the mad god spun around and blocked it with its left arm. Perfectly blocking as the entire force behidn the attack was nulled, however the shield bash smacked Maxis's armor shell in the faceplate, cracking it as it stepped back.

Meksis did a stinger maneuver at it, coming at it full force with the point of the blade, either to run the Mad God through, or to knock it down, either way. The Mad god stepped forward, and stopped Meksis's blade with its right hand, grabbing the blade's edge and with sheer force and power stopping the blade and Meksis's momentum, visible madness energy bleeding from the hand as it held onto the blade, which's sharpness was enough to cut a deep wound in its hand.

Without allowing Meksis to react the Mad God shifted forward, grabbing Meksis by the shoulder with it's left hand and pulling him close. Too damn close, close enough to Meksis to be able to gaze deep into the crack on what was Maxis's armor, in it he'd see a black and white energy...nothing else, no eyes, no facial features, nothing.

"Oh you know...Maxis, Mad God, The harbinger of histeria, I have plenty. You can call me whatever you want." It spoke, with pure hostilty and disdain for Meksis's very existence could be felt in the air around them as he pulled Meksis's sword with ungodly strenght, in order to try to knock Meksis's off balance as it let go of him, more madness energy spilling onto the sword and the environment around them.

"You know Maxis? Your friend who just firetrucking died? Well he and I go way back, waaaay back. I mean, he was the first of your kind I saw, and well. Guess he stuck with me for a long time, if you know what im saying." The Mad god Joked, spitting on Maxis's name some more, to both enrage Meksis and to appease it's own ego.

"When he came through one of the tears and slaughtered his way up to me i'l admit, I was legitimately impressed, even so much that I offered him a position at my side..." The Mad god spoke and immediately he was right behind Meksis whispering into his ear. 'Though really, I was going to kill him anyway.' Before reapearing in the area it was speaking originaly. Walking casualy around, "My amazement however, was shot down when I noticed he was just too weak, and his grief at being alone and having had to kill his precious friends, courtesy of yours truly, he was too easy to exploit and beat down." It taunted even more before laughing.

"The moment I was to deal the final blow, the absolute maniac grabbed me and fused his very soul with mine. And what came next, you already know..." Silence followed for a split second before it reappeared behind Meksis, throwing a uppercut, fueled by madness that would send the very air reeling into a shockwave from the force, the force was so strong it completely tore away Maxis's armor's arm. Should Meksis dodge it, he'd follow with a flying kick, also erasing the armor on the leg, whether the attack was succesful or not it would follow with a chopping motion with the still armored hand as a massive madness shockwave followed in a cutting motion.

"Time to get rid of this, don't you think?" The mad god commented to Meksis as it began to rip out the remaining armor pieces from Maxis, as they vanished away. Only leaving a black and white sillhouete of pure energy. Before in a few moments a mask formed on its face, covering the entire head, much like a helmet, as the remainder of the armor began to form in an intricate line of plate and leather as madness swirled around it. Soon enough, it was in full armor, starting down at Meksis.

"Ahh, its good to wear these old clothes, it is a wonder how they are still a perfect fit." It spoke, marveling at its armor, almost completely ignoring Meksis.

- Henry - The Dreadnought - With Elia in Kilkis Seres -

"Another mess I see we're gonna have to deal with I see." Henry commented dryly at the entire conversation of the source of all life. So this was the grand scheme of Yevgeni and Nergal, their master plan or some such, it really didn't matter much to Henry their reasoning behind it, other than his world was sacrificed for it, probably, and that he'd have to be the one, or one of the ones, to fix the mess they caused.  Ariana shrieked inside of him at the realization of the source of all life existing, something of a myth to the feys, most of which never knowing and some only hearing rumors about it. Throug that didn't surprise Henry one bit. There was always something else.

As They heard footsteps nearing the door, Elia quickly slid behind a column to hide herself, Henry did the same thing, seeing no other column to hide behind, he hit alongside Elia as they watched Yevgeni pass by and head for the entrance. Henry and Elia standing rather close while hiding as he went by, he took a step back as she spoke afterwards the coast was clear.

"You're god damn right we can't...We keep an eye out and when they're about to leave we follow." Henry spoke, with conviction and a hint of anger in his voice now. "It's up to us to fix this...isn't it?" He asked her.

- Alastor - The Storm - With Odin -

Alastor quickly found Raiden, or rather, Odin as Arthur finished his inquiries. "So that explains why I couldn't feel your aura for a second there..." Alastor commented as he stepped into the scene, analyzing Odin top to bottom, Noticing the wound on his eye was the easiest part, nothing else seemed out of the ordinary other than the eye. the aura and clothes were the same, everything about him was how Raiden would act, Alastor had some suspicions as Odin mentioned the one having made an attempt on his life was a friend, but didn't explicit questions. Simply crossing his arms as he spoke.

"I think that counts as a bit more than an eyestrain...you sure that'l heal?" Alastor spoke in his usual dry tone. As he would normaly act around Raiden. Right now trying to get a feel of how 'shaken' Raiden was.

- Rufus Contralto, in Raiden's villa with Athena and Alderon -

Before Rufus could react, he saw Athena flying towards him with outstretched arms to hug him.  Unfortunately, she went through him, but that did not stop Rufus from feeling warm and fuzzy.  With a sheepish expression on his face, he batted his eyes and said the best thing that was able to come to mind (or rather the only thing):  "Doho!"  A mental love-heart or two escaped him as he blushed, hugged himself, and, after quickly realising that he was still within mixed company, fled off the side of the roof to hide from the bunch and chuckle to himself.  It may not have been real, but it was the thought that counted, right?

"I was hugged!  Doho!" he said to himself, another little love-heart escaping him visible to his eyes only.

At 3:24, you'll see what I'm trying to go for here.  =P  I recommend muting the commentary if you want to see more.

The others seemed to be heading off soon afterwards, so he tailed them, trying to seem distracted whenever they looked over to him, whether it be by people within the same room as himself, or the strange head of a five-eyed plant still with rancid breath mounted on a rack in one of the rooms, or an imaginary piece of lint that seemed to hang about him for minutes at a time.  When everybody was in Alderon's room and attention was directed toward him, he waved only a little towards everyone sheepishly before drifting off in thought, this time truly distracted.  What a disgusting plant creature that was he saw, something that seemed to come out of an JRPG or something . . . whatever that was.

- Odin/Raiden, in Raiden's villa in Mystras -

Odin glanced among the whispering individuals with his exposed eye, then towards Alastor.  This is a group not easy to fool, especially not Alastor, who seemed to discern that he was more crippled than with mild pains, but he was determined to win their trust.

"This might heal, if given time.  I am aided by electricity, so restoration of the body is easy, but this"--he shook his head with a deep furrow on his brow--"who knows?  I might go half-blind forever, but I have no time for healing, however, nor a moment for seeking out the one that did this to me, my Infiltrator who led me away.  He knows the city well, and was a close ally and friend parallel to Alastor and Mariel here, only not quite as much of one."

He smiled genuinely towards the two.  Mariel was an old friend, and Alastor a new one with much kinship.  However, could he truly be friends with them now that he had become whole in all ways?  The thought dissipated his smile.  They were allies and "friends of family," of sorts, though given time he could regrow that relationship that Raiden had with both of them.

"However," he soon continued, eyeing Rabiyu, "it is good tidings that the good king has been reunited with his dear daughter.  I know precious little of family, but I know some."

His gaze flickered toward Jynn a mite before migrating elsewhere.  He could read it on Jynn's expression and in his actions, especially his defensive draw of his hand towards his allies in an effort to "protect" them, that Jynn too was suspicious of him.  The prince may have been his son, and the slight provocation was easily forgiven, but it will be remembered.

"There has been enough time, I suppose, for preparation.  Let us leave for Isopolis soon and not tarry.  The longer we stay, the sooner others encroach upon the Source of All Life.  We must get to it in time in order to restore the World Below to its full power."

{Mariel: Mystras; Raiden's Villa}

Mariel was confused by all this. Here was Odin, feeling more like his old self than ever, yet something wasn't right. But she couldn't put her finger on it. And this talk of an attacker. A close friend.

"Are you sure your attacker can be left at large and unknown?" The Guardian Angel asked her former charge. "With a dangerous task ahead, we don't need a danger from behind, O-...mi'lord."

She had wanted to call him Odin there, yet had slid into thinking and referring to him as Raiden almost as soon as they had reunited. Why? And why did the name seem foreign now?

~Aqua: At the gates; Kilkis Seres~

Aqua smiled at Eclaire. “Well, I’m sure whatever it is you someday make up for it, but don’t spend so much time worrying over things you can’t change.” She says in a supportive manner. She had said just as Yevgeni had come out to talk with  Eclaire. When he had noticed and spoken to her she couldn’t help but flinch. The truth be told Aqua hadn’t known what to make of the events that had taken place after the war.  In truth, Aqua had used her research on Humans as an excuse to avoid Yevgeni and it had worked for a time. It was only the thought that she might not be as much of an Elf as she thought that had brought her to the castle. “I’m still a bit shaken,” She admitted. “But hello. I wanted to ask some questions, but it seems I’ve come too late.” She shrugs slightly. “Don’t worry about it, but when will you be returning by chance?" She asked.

Isopolis: The Forbidden Shrine

The evening air gently caresses the faces of Odin's companions.  Perhaps excitement fills your heart, or fear, or a bit of both.  Isopolis, the forbidden shrine, lays mutely before you on a bed of assorted boulders.  The terrain is a rocky one to climb, though with proper footing you should have little difficulty accessing the front gates.

The shrine rises high into the sky, its levels impossible to discern from the outside.  Its windows glitter like many emeralds along its gray stone walls.  There is a large set of gates leading into the shrine, guarded by two heavily-armored men.  They do not look in your direction or seemed bothered by your closeness, though they might decide to make use of those long katanas at their waists should you approach.

Footsteps fall from behind you, which reveal the arrival of four individuals that had not traversed with your party: Henry, Elia, Eclaire, and Aqua.  You have not seen these individuals in quite some time, though it would seem that they have an interest in joining your plight.

The end is nigh; you have reached the final destination . . . .

How will you choose to proceed?

Jynn, Dawson, and Bherna-Isopolis

Jynn gestures to the group to hide behind a large boulder. Jynn and Dawson peek out, investigating the situation. Dawson strokes his chin. “So what’s the plan of gettin’ past these guys?” The prince was very quick to answer. “We should spare them so they can slow down Yevgeni, if he decides to come. So I would say live bait.” He stares at Dawson, obviously wanting the palico to be the said bait. Dawson was not a fan. “What? Are you asking ME to be the bait?” Jynn nods. “Yes, you need to create some kind of diversion.” The palico starts to get frustrated. “Whaddaya want me to do?! Dress up in a skirt and do the goddamn hula?!”

Suddenly, Dawson appears out of the ground next to the entrance in a skirt, a flowery headdress, and with a makeshift ukulele in his arms. “LU’AU!” The palico quickly pulls out a pig he found on his way, obviously wanting to use it as food, but now decides to sacrifice it. He continues with his act. “If you're hungry for a hunk of fat and juicymeat

Eat my buddy here because he is a treat

Come on down and dine

On this tasty swine

All you have to do is get in line

Aaaare you achin'

Foooor some bacon?

Heeee's a big poogie

You could be a big poogie too.” Bherna couldn’t help but laugh internally.

Dawson then screams in fear, running in a different direction and away from the group, hopefully luring the guards away from the entrance.

- Typhon, Alicia and Alastor - Isopolis entrance -

"Oh you have got to be shitting me" Typhon spoke in compelte disbelief at Dawson and Jynn's antics. But he shrugs, "As stupid as that looks, its a good diversion." Typhon spoke, as he looked over the two guards, heavily armored. But even armor couldn't stop blunt force. He began to vanish as he began to use his chameleon ability, soon enough vanishing from sight. As Alicia and Alastor watched on, Alicia with the most perfect definition of a poker face and Alastor in a straight up facepalm stance as he looked at the mess.

"Im not even going to question..." Alastor commented dryly.

Soon enough, behind one of the guards, Typhon appeared from behind them, aiming at the leftmost guard he entered a charging stance as he charged for a few seconds before releasing a charged up fist at the back of the heavily armored man, if the attack hit his back in full, the man would be sent back flying forward as he'd no doubt faceplant onto the ground, good enough to let the others get a few hits in...as for the other guard.

- Henry - The Dreadnought - Isopolis Entrance -

He didn't even remember how he and Elia got Aqua and Eclaire to come with them to Isopolis, but they tagged along, and Eclaire seemed strong enough so he wasn't going to complain too much. As they appraoched he noticed the other group of individuals at the same location, which consisted of familiar faces like Mariel, Sifrei, Aura, Helios and a few others he remembered, a small smirk began to form on his face as he then noticed the utter mess that was happening by a palico dancing for the guards.

"What the hell is happening." Henry spoke in an extremely dry and unamused tone, as he saw Typhon attack one of the guards, Henry quickly followed suite. "Fine then." He spoke as he broke into a sprint, gradualy gaining speed and armor forming around him as he very quickly became the equivalent of a freight train, slamming into the rightmost guard with his elbow, enough to pierce the armor and possibly knock the man out cold if it colided, and if it did Henry would grab them by the throat, using his enhanced strenght to lift the man effortlessly as he'd slam him onto the ground.

"Nice dancing, kittie." Henry commented. As the partial dreadnought began to dissipate.

- Rabiyu, Aura and Sifrei - Isopolis Entrance -

It was finally time for their last mission, both judges were ready to face whatever they had to face to ensure that the Source of All Life was obtained, the three of them were surprised when another, smaller, group joined. Some of the faces were familiar ones to Rabiyu and Aura, but not for Sifrei. Rabiyu looked at the queen's retainer for a moment, taking into consideration that she was no longer the same as she remembered to be when they had met during battle. When Aura was about to greet Henry she was stopped by the sudden actions done by the palico. Rabiyu was just staring at the running fey while Sifrei simply shrugged and sighed.

"Oh, brother. I do not know if I should be surprised or..." Sifrei said as he looked at Rabiyu, "you know what, I won't say anything. That will cause a distraction at this point."

"That was completely random," Aura asked, being slightly confused, "What was the point of that?"

The elf watched as the Cyph vanished from sight, only to reappear behind one of the guards of the shrine. The Cyph looked like he was about to charge an attack that undoubtedly would sent the guard flying forwards, giving the perfect moment to restrain the poor fool. At this point there was no point in holding back her magic, not when so much was at stake. Not even if the backlash of her way to cast spells would come back to bite her at a later date.

"Zii do Lund, fahraal dii faan," Rabiyu whispered in ancient draconic, as her voice gained a faint echo, "Zu'u uth hi wah zin thy sos kiid do wuth ahrk jakah thy heyv wah zey."

With the spell finished, vines would begin to erupt from the ground and would lash out towards the guard that was attacked by the Cyph, surrounding the fey's body and pinning the man into the ground, leaving him unable to move. If there were more guards inside the shrine, all the ruckus that was currently happening outside would have alerted them by now.

- Arthur & Helios - /w Isopolis Infiltration Team - Isopolis Shrine -

They were here, and they were ready. Even if they weren't, there was no turning back. The tension was high, and so were the risks. Even Henry was back, to which Helios was quick to hurry over and hug tightly. The cool night air pricked against their skin as they eyed at the guards at the entrance. Grand, armed, dangerous. They could spill some blood or cause a distraction long enough for the guards to walk away from the gates and let them inside...until Dawson does the distraction dance. Helios almost loses it. He has to slap his hands over his mouth, almost bending over as he muffled laughed into his hands. He would've turned into a rat, seeing that their laughter are in frequencies that the normal ear cannot hear, but he wasn't sure if these soldiers were normal. Besides, they had to keep themselves ready in case he had to transform into something bigger once they get inside. Arthur was just the same, holding onto Alastor to keep himself from bending over. He didn't let out any laughter, instead swallowing it up. Yet the red on his cheeks was more than enough to show that he had been holding back. "Holy crap..." He hiccuped, smiling wildly. However, the distraction seemed to be enough, because along with Typhon, Henry and Rabiyu, the two guards were knocked down and over. However there was the risk that there would be more inside. Arthur wiped his tears away and looked up at Alastor. "No point in hesitating." Arthur said, rushing out of the hiding spot and straight to the gates. He was quick on his feet as ever, jumping before disappearing into lightning and reappearing right in front of the pair of gates. "Let me help secure if there's something inside." Helios spoke, hurrying out of his hiding place. He rushed to Henry's side and smoke covered him. Soon enough he rose into a new shape. There were different types of basilisk, and this one was a Glass Basilisk, standing tall and growling at the door, ready to attack anything that might be on the other side of the door. Arthur backed away as Helios stood on his two back legs, pressing both his front paws against the gates and trying to push them open.

- Odin, with the Mystran raiding party at Isopolis -

Odin raised an eyebrow at the interesting scenes being presented at Isopolis' great gates, as some of the stronger members of the group attempted to batter the guards down and, later, the gate itself.  A reckless action, but it was seemingly a working one.

"Soren, you could have talked down the guards and avoided all of . . . this, right?" he asked, sweeping a hand over to the crazy situation ahead of him.  He wondered what it was that triggered the early aggression when they had a possibility of entering and then attacking if needed.  Those inside would be alerted early, and the situation can be much worse than what was predicted.

Regardless of the answer if one came, he later craned his head to eye the remainder of the party.

"Rufus," he called out, his remaining eye glancing over to the addled djinni.

"Yuppers!" resounded Rufus above the din of the gate's groaning from Helios' efforts as a basilisk.  He hovered into view with a goofy grin beneath that mat of hair.

"You seem incorporeal.  Can you slip through the defenses?  Maybe divert their attention with a distraction from within?"

"Oh-h-h," droned Rufus, smiling and tapping his nose.  "Doubtless can I do that!  One screaming session coming right up.  Rufus, AWAY!"

And with that he took off, legs tottering speedily with arms flailing above his head.  He phased right through the gate and, afterwards, quickly started to shriek his head off and run around aimlessly.  He hoped that nobody would have had wind or sonic magic within the gates, but more than anything else he hoped that all attention would be thrust upon him.  He had the mindset of a thespian of the highest calibre, and any kind of attention was enough for him, even if it were negative.

- Soren Monroe, Servant of Shiva's Will - Mystran Raiding Party, Isopolis Exterior -

Soren Monroe could not muster the words necessary to comment on what he had just witnessed. Nothing about Dawson's..."diversion" made sense to him and he could not dignify the moment with a response. He had been defeated by many things in the past and crushed opponents all the same...this was quite possibly his truest, most final defeat of them all, so he simply accepted it, albeit with a facepalm and moved on.

Somehow more perplexing however, was the Human/Fey Dreadnought, Henry Hansees and the Last Cyph, Typhon, deciding to forgo the distracting "lu'au" and electing to attack the Isopolis Guardsmen. While it was working, it was definitely reckless. And pointless, as Odin proposed a good point.

"Lord Raiden...if it helps ease the confusion wracking our minds...ye-yes. Yes I could've talked to the Guards. I had a good relationship with them, treachery or no...now?" Soren sighed deeply. "They'll be picking their teeth from the dirt in a few minutes. While we traverse a forbidden and legendary shrine's trials of ordeal." He spoke in a deadpan tone, being bothered more by this act of aggression than even the silly dance. Harrumphing to himself, Soren then gave a pat on the back to Odin, giving a small smile before putting his demonic helmet on. "Never mind, let us not dilly dally further, friend. I'll see you through these trials soon enough, as best I can." Soren stated with some confidence, a more lively tone than previous had taken hold.

Jynn and Bherna-Isoplolis

Jynn looks back to his confused allies. “Not exactly what I had in mind, but that would have to suffice. Sorry for those who are disturbed.” But as soon as he finished speaking, Typhon, Henry, Helios, Arthur, and Rabiyu start attacking one of the guards, which clearly upsetted Jynn. He plants his palm on his forehead, while overhearing Odin and Soren’s concerns. He turns to everyone. “The point of Dawson’s, rather interesting, diversion was to lure the guards away from here, and we would enter before they return to their posts. When they return, if Yevgeni shows up, they would spare us some time. But, it appears that some of our allies are alright with the idea of possibly alerting the rest of the guards, and Yevgeni just waltzing inside. If this is their idea of ‘teamwork’, then this mission will end horribly.”

He then turns to Soren. “Even after this reckless attack, do you think there a way that maybe you can try to convince the other guards to take our side?”

- Henry, Alastor, Alicia and Typhon - The Four -  Isopolis Shrine entrance -

"Yeaaah...because they'd both follow the cat and be lured away...I doubt that both would." Typhon sarcasticaly remarked on Jynn's plan. "And besides..." Typhon was interrupted as Henry, after finishing knocking out the other guard turned to the group and shrugged.

"Well, we didn't get a chance to speak before this happened, so here's what I got. Me, Elia, Aqua and Eclaire here, we only got here by following Yevgeni and...none other than the Queenslayer himself here, so odds are...Yevgeni and Nergal are already inside, considering he's nowhere near the entrance." Henry spoke, pointing out, it was true, he only got there by following Yevgeni and Nergal as they set off for Isopolis.

"And excuse my manners, but I highly doubt these two guards, whom are supposed to no doubt defend this place with their lives, would let A Lightning swordsman who tore away at Kilkis Seres's ranks in the war's skirmish, Raiden, the lord of Mystras, this thing." Henry said pointing at Typhon, who only glared back at him.

"Me, and all these others ready for combat... but if you want to convince the rest, then be my guest, i'l stand by." Henry spoke as clearly as he could, in his eyes, diplomacy was out of the picture, especially when they were already short on time as they were.

Alicia then stepped forward, putting her foot down. "That was reckless still, but. I'l give you credit, we're starved for time, and we're not gonna gain anything from bickering at the entrance. Lets get inside." Alicia spoke, with clear distinction and zeal in her voice. Alastor simply scoffed as he stood silent the whole way.

- Rabiyu, Aura and Sifrei - Isopolis Entrance -

Aura moved closer to Henry and patted him on the back. Although still a little confused, she gave Henry a smile.

"It's alright, you did what you thought was right," Aura said, "Welcome back, by the way."

"At this point it is worthless to wonder what would have happened, Prince. Let us move, there is no point in standing here without doing anything," Rabiyu said to Jynn without even looking at him, "And if you think this mission will fail, then, by all means, you are free to return to Kilkis Seres. We will try to reach the Source before the Regent or the Black Witch."

The elf walked towards the restrained guard that was punched by the cyph, she kneeled next to him and touched the poor guy's back. Her hand glowed faintly as a small healing spell was casted. Sifrei looked at the prince and shooks his head before walking next to Helios and pressed both hands against the gates in an attempt to open it.

"Alright. Let's get this over with." Sifrei said to Helios.

{Mariel: Isopolis Shrine; Entrance}

Mariel stood beside Odin, her eyes scanning Isopolis for anything of use. Sneaking into places was a skill she had picked up in the World Below, it not being seen as very important for Guardian Angel training. Still, this wasn't quite her element. On the bright side, others seemed to know what they were doing. At least, that's what she hoped for Dawson at least. Still, the others moved on the guard, making the diverter's exit strategy less problematic. The Guardian Angel kept back, watching the gates in case of reinforcements.

Moving to help with the door, Mariel paused when Henry began sharing information. The news wasn't what she wanted to hear.

"Great." She thought. "Even more perils inside."

"Thanks for sharing." Mariel said to Henry, sounding a bit grim. "It's not like they've been considerate up to this point, so why start now?"

Moving up, the Guardian Angel joined Sifrei and Helios at the gate. She moved to flank the Archangel, one or her swords drawn, ready to cut down anything that came out of the gate once opened.

-Eclaire: Outside Isopolis-

Eclaire was quiet. So much was happening that she barely could think. Yevgeni and that "messenger" going after the Source of All Life, Raiden's party already here...and now, the truth - Nergal, the Queenslayer? The journey with Elia, Henry, and Aqua had been...tense. She barely knew them all, staying aloft in the air so she may enjoy the whistling of the wind. But now...on the ground, looking at the group that Henry had walked up to...she squinted. "Wait..."

Some may call her a woman, but truly she was a girl. One whose confidence after naming her sword, now shaken...for now. Because, as her brain finally settled and clicked, her eyes widened...her tail went bushy....and her angelic wings flared out, throwing her at Jynn in a flying tackle. Arms wrapping around him, she knocked him over, half yelling and half sobbing at him.

"You nitwit, you idiot, I was so worried about you! I made a promise you, you stubborn prince, I made a promise and I had no idea if I had broken it! Don't you dare be away without telling me again!" she sobbed and yelled at him, not really caring how really anyone thought of her. "I g-gave her my word Jynn. D-don't you dare disappear like that again or so help me gods above, I'll...I'll.....I'll think of something ok."

Rolling off and W-sitting, she covered her face. Taking deep breaths, she settled down. "...Jynn...I made a promise....a promise to Shiva. I told your mother I would watch after you...so for the love of the gods don't run off like that again." Her tail calming down, the amalgamation of light, dark, and cat hung her head. "I find you...find the man who killed Shiva....and the man who might have even orchestrated it...here...from a war to this...wh...what even is going on anymore?" She asked softly. "Why has fate drawn us all here...?"
