Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 13, 2018 - Typhon - Mystras encampment - As Jynn went to speak to Raiden, the boy's father, Typhon went for a walk around the camp, he would regroup with him later, but for now he had the nice natural air to breathe in, also the food to eat. And luckily, as he was looking around for things to eat a person walked up to him, not a fey, a...human? The boy came in asking if he was lost, offering him some fruit, telling him he never saw anything like him before, offere him some fruit, and told him he was really cool, but also offered him fruit. "I...uh." Typhon tried to come up with the words to speak to Arthur. "Thanks, I guess, Im one of a kind...you could say." Typhon replied, with his bug-like voice. "You're staring at my face, I know you are, look I don't have eyes, but I know you're staring, so stop it." Typhon also remarked as he just knew Arthur was probably thinking about what was wrong with Typhon's face, which was just a more complex face place in the form of an exoskeleton. "Anyway, thanks for the fruit, now- Oh look at that!" Typhon said pointing at the distance, trying to distract Arthur, if the boy looked towards where the Cyph pointed, he'd turn around to see nothing there anymore. Typhon had cloaked and gotten the hell out of dodge. Guess while cloaked he had nothing better to do than go check on Jynn. - Alicia and Typhon - Raiden's study - Alicia, shortly after Jynn had entered the study, had followed him inside as well, as she heard mention of her name by Rabyiu's familiar voice. "I did not get lost." Alicia spoke as she entered and looked straight at Rabyiu, with cold seriousness in her expression and tone. Before frowning. "As for Baxter, no one has ever seen him since." Alicia spoke, actualy somewhat somber in her tone. "As fo-" Alicia was suddenly stopped by Typhon. Who began to speak while Cloaked, directly behind Rabyiu and Sifrei. if they turned they would see him decloaking and sitting on top of a random table with an apple in his hand. "Really? World below's dead, Jynn's being hunted by a shadowy assassin and he has to have manners now? You're lucky the boy hasn't had a stroke from the stress." He snarked at Rabiyu's earlier remark, he had heard most of the conversation with his hearing and had just gotten in when Alicia had, Cyphs were tricky like that. Interestingly enough Typhon would have decloaked on the table nearest to Raiden and Alderon, to which he would simply turn his head to them and say. "Oh hey." With a blank tone. As Alicia would then pick up from there. Quite flustered by the Cyph's interruption, she recomposed himself and began to explain the situation about the throne. "As it said...Jynn cannot assume the throne as of yet, not while he is hunted by some assassin, we managed to fend him off the first time he came at us, which was mere moments after Jynn entering Kilkis Seres. He is most likely the same man that killed Shiva, now out for her son, and under someone's payroll..." She continued as Typhon raised a finger at the 'It' remark, but said nothing. "And my educated guess would be that he is most likely working alongside...the current regent, Yevgeni." Alicia finished. As Typhon simply looked at Soren afterwards. "By the way nice armor." He complimented the man's armor. But not out of looks, the armor looked tasty as hell.
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted May 13, 2018 --Elia Cabret -- Kilkis Seres palace gates-- Sweet syrup excreted from the raven-haired fairy's pastry as she bit into it, strolling barefoot through the streets of Kilkis Seres. The concrete felt warm on the soles of her feet, the air strong and toxic to her nostrils. The humans had seemed to change the city, in ways that Elia could not exactly put her finger on. Her heart ached at the loss which the human's incurred, their entire world decimated by a mere curse. While furious with Yevgeni for his actions, there was nothing that she could do, save for try putting a smile on the faces of those who survived, and ensure that the remainder of the human race was preserved. Upon reaching the palace gates she stopped, sticky pastry to her mouth, staring wide-eyed at the scenario before her. Two unfamiliar men stood at the gate in place of sentries, appearing rather hostile to one another. There was something oddly familiar about the human . . . . Wait!" Elia cried, interrupting their banter. "Don't I know you?" Yes, this must've been one of the humans that had visited Kilkis Seres long ago; she recognized him now. It had been quite some time, though, and she wondered what sort of business he had in the palace. There was also something even more familiar about him, an aura or presence that soothed her soul, yet she couldn't quite place what that was. --Yevgeni Malachite, Lady Midnea, and a surprise prisoner-- Kilkis Seres Palace-- The dark witch laughed without mirth at the guardsmen's announcement. "And so the assassins emerge," she said, wiping at her eye with her sleeve. "Enjoy, my dear regent, the pains of ruling a rebelling nation. My time here is up, however, as you so kindly reminded me. I have a palace to return to." Yev's emerald eyes narrowed. "Fine, then go." A mischievous smile crossed her face as she strode out of the throne room, tearing a spear from one of the sentries as she went. What she planned to do next was outside of Yev's knowledge and control, though he'd had a sickening feeling about giving her any kind of power or authority. "Thank you, Nergal, my friend," was the elf's response as his companion turned to greet this potential assailant. It did distress him slightly that he'd managed to upturn an entire nation in less than twenty-four hours, though it was to be expected. There would be those who would praise his efforts, and of course individuals who would oppose him and desire to see him cut down. He could only presume that this was one of Raiden's men, for the lord's ways differed perhaps the greatest from his. Yevgeni left the throne room, striding through the palace that had survived several millennia and housed thousands of souls. It housed new thousands, however, the lives of the humans whom had been granted salvation. Some had been grateful for their survival, though the majority had been resentful, seeing Yev as no other than a tyrant who took pleasure in playing the role of a god. The elf saw himself as neither of these things, but respected the human's feelings. Had he been in their situation, he likely would feel no different. He fled up the steps of the west wing, approaching a room that was guarded by two men. "I've come to see the girl," Yevgeni explained, to which the men--both humans--nodded and granted him entry. The room was nothing splendid, though certainly decent. Pale-blue drapes blew in the gentle breeze from an opened window, and sitting upon a bed of a similar blue silk was a young woman. Her tail twitched irritably, her dog nose scrunched up in annoyance. She glanced over at Yevgeni with a contempt look. "Hello," Yevgeni said calmly, closing the door behind them. "I do not believe we have yet met, Princess Visco." Her expression did not soften. "You're not Helvadorian." It was a statement, not a question. "No, I am not," Yev affirmed. "I am elven, a race which I'm sure you've heard of only in those fairy tales." Dark matted locks fell forward into her face. "What do you plan to do with me?" she asked sullenly. The blond drew a few steps closer, reaching for her hands. Thick rope dug into her wrists, binding them together and fastened with several knots. He waved a hand slowly over the ropes, which slowly disintegrated until all that was left was charred remnants on the ground. The dog princess rubbed her wrists. "It brings me no great pleasure to see a young woman of your class brought to suffer," he told her grimly. "I understand it that the Helvadorians mistreated you." No reply came from the princess, though she hung her head, gaze penetrating a cobweb in the corner of the room. "I cannot yet free you, but I can reassure you: I plan to reunite you with your father, but only once it is safe. There are others seeking you as well, ones which I fear may do you harm," he explained to her. A frown furrowed her brow. "Just who are you?" "A friend," was his response, offering her a slight smile before adding: "You may call me Yev. However, I implore that you tell no one of our visit. It is imperative that the Helvadorians do not yet know of my plans to release you." "Why won't you do it now?" "Because I cannot." Yevgeni turned to leave, though was halted by Visco catching on to his burgundy robe. He turned to glance at her, his eyes meeting her wide blue ones. "If you see my father, tell him I love him," she implored. "And Arthur the knight, tell him . . . tell him . . . ." The regent could only hope that this Arthur was not one whom he had killed during the war. "It shall be done, Your Majesty." --King Alderon -- Raiden's Villa-- The king was silent while Raiden spoke, though his hands tightened around the chair which he'd been grasping. When he removed them they were shaking. "Peace? We're still striving for peace?" Alderon stated weakly. "My friend, allow me to enlighten you if you were not yet already aware: a world has perished. My world. There is no peace or alliance left to strike. It is all done, that's it. Finished!" In his fury he threw the chair on its side, knocking over a lamp in the process. It hit the ground and shattered into thousands of pieces, though Alderon's fury wasn't yet satiated. He pointed at the broken lord. "This is all your fault! My entire world has been annihilated! My people dead. My daughter"--his voice broke, tears finally escaping his eyes and running down his cheeks--"is gone. All that I've ever worked toward and loved has been ripped from me, all because of your shoddy efforts!" He stomped forward, vein bulging near his temple. He pounded a fist on the desk before Lord Raiden. "I cannot believe how selfish you are, trying to claim peace and unity while simultaneously bring justice for your fallen queen. The queen who caused all of this to begin with, mind you." Alderon shook with grief, fury, and fatigue. While trying to remain composed for his subjects, he was truly beginning to crack, and now it was showing. "You can't make things right, Raiden. It is over, and as far as I am concerned there is no common goal between us any longer. I cannot--will not--just watch you try to find this assailant of your queen, while there is the mastermind who destroyed my world out there. Unless they are one and the same, our paths will no longer converge. I am sorry." The broken king now leaned into the table that he had pounded, his entire body shaking as he broke into open sobs, something that, likely, no one had ever seen before. --Everyth Castanova-- Raiden's Villa, approaching Arthur-- "Some strange things in this world, isn't there?" The voice belonged to the woman leaning against the wall, dark hair pooling over her shoulder with her arms crossed over her chest. She opened her violet eyes to glance over at the aspiring knight, eyes that were reddened and puffy, likely from crying. "I guess we'll be calling it home for good." She approached the youth and gave him a once-over. "Are you holding up alright?" Everyth took the loss of their world as a deathly blow, though had little earthly attachment. Everyone that she loved was already gone, and down there she was a witch and an outcast. At least here she could use her magic freely without being called an abomination, though the loss of their home world was indeed upsetting. What distressed her most was all of the innocents that had to die, chiefly, and most especially, her dear princess. The tears that she shed were for her alone, for she loved the girl about as much as an older sister would. "I know that you cared for her," she said finally, assuming that Arthur would know whom she meant. "As did I." 2 Stardustblade358 and Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 13, 2018 - Helios - Mystras - /w Aura & Bherna - Raiden's Meeting - The three hurried to Raiden's study and the current meeting between the rulers and officials of Mystras. With Bherna they were allowed inside the villa with ease, and to find the study...all they had to do was to follow the yelling. Helios heard the familiar voice of the human king, exclaiming his woes to the Fey. Helios couldn't help but to feel an ache in his heart as he listened, understanding the pain that he felt. Helios frowned, stepping into the room as he pushed himself past the guards. He went directly to Alderon, his hands reaching as he placed his hand on the king's back. "...King Alderon." Helios spoke, glancing around at the other leaders for a moment before sighing, his attention back to the king. "You must remain strong. You are the first defense of humanity, the one human with the knowledge and security to provide for the refugees. Not even their king is as knowledgeable as you are at this moment." He spoke, his eyes narrowing. "These refugees, and I'm sure even their king are looking up to you for answers and reassurance. Not just them, but your soldiers." Helios insisted, taking a deep breath. "It hurts. I know it does...but your people still remain. Your soldiers still wear your flag. Will you allow them to fall with you?" Helios asked, not afraid as he stood tall. He sighed a bit, his eyes turning to Lord Raiden and Jynn, giving a small bow. "My apologies...I didn't mean to intrude...I came to ask if my shapeshifting abilities would be in the need of assistance of any kind but..." He frowned, looking back at Alderon. "...we're all losing, aren't we?" - Arthur - Mystras - /w Mariel & Everyth - Helping the refugees - Arthur blinked, turning away to see where he had pointed. "Where?" He asked, but as he looked, he saw nothing. He turned to look back at where the Fey was...and he was gone. Arthur hummed, tilting his head. That was weird. He shrugged, moving his way back and around, offering food. He saw a young woman (Mariel) staring at him, so he figured she must be hungry. He smiled, walking over. "Hey, are you alright?" He asked, offering the basket of fruit. "Are you hungry, or thirsty? Here, take your fill. If you're feeling sick, I can request for a healer too." He asked, smiling at her. His attention was then taken back by a somewhat familiar voice. He turned, seeing Everyth. "Lady Everyth." He spoke, turning to her though he made sure to keep the basket of fruits close to the young woman for her to take what she liked. He chuckled. "Strange things indeed...but beautiful just the same, aren't they?" He asked. He seemed to internally flinch when she mentioned that this place was home for good, and he could already feel warm tears escaping his eyes as he took a deep breath. "I loved her." He whispered, a soft smile on his lips. "She charmed me, like she used a spell on me." He chuckled. "I first met her in the garden, and I was so taken aback by her that I walked straight into the fountain. When I heard her laugh I knew what love at first sight really was." He spoke, his tone soft though it was obvious he struggled to not break down. She looked up at Everyth, smiling even as tears streamed down his face. "Sir Alastor made a good point. Mourning will do nothing. I'm sure...she wouldn't want me to drown myself in sorrows either." He said, quickly wiping away his tears. "I...I haven't even spoken to King Alderon..." He whispered, frowning as he looked up at Everyth. "Ah, sorry mam...are you hungry too? I really don't know how much resources we can spare, but the Fey have been very kind in providing all of the aid possible." He spoke, smiling as he looked around. Elrandir 783 Posted May 13, 2018 - Aura - Mystras - With Helios and Bherna -Well, apparently Helios knew who the woman was. The daughter of the prince of Kilkis Seres, by the look of it. She also said that an assassin had attempted to kill the Prince, which was bad news. Aura was about to hold Helios's hand when she felt a a nudge on her back from the princess's mount. She shook her head and held Helios's hand. "Let us go. I feel this meeting is very important." The yelling heard around the villa, and the faces that both refugees and fae had made Aura think that the meeting was not going well. And when they reached the room from were the yelling could be heard Helios did something Aura did not expect.- Rabiyu and Sifrei - Raiden's Study -"So, Baxter has been gone ever since that night?" Rabiyu said without looking at Alicia, "How peculiar, but not unexpected. It doesn't matter in the end."The moment an unknown voice was heard Rabiyu already had one of her daggers in hand, although he seemed to be a companion of Alicia and the Prince by the look of it."Such is the fate of those in places of power, I'm afraid. He will need to get used to that from now on," She said to Typhon without turning around and while hiding the dagger, "And it seems that even those of Kilkis Seres agree that someone under orders from a person of high rank is responsible for what has been happening lately. Just like we thought."And then, finally, it happened. The human king had lost what little composure he still had. He blamed Raiden for not having good results, for the destruction of everything the man held dear. After all was said and done, Alderon was not going to be working together anymore. And for a third time in a matter of minutes, another group of people entered without announcing themselves. Rabiyu and Sifrei quickly recognized two of them, Helios and Aura, but the other one was unknown. Aura quickly walked towards Rabiyu and waved her hands."So sorry, we didn't mean to interrupt, but we heard yelling and-" Aura stopped mid sentence after Rabiyu raised her hand."It's alright. At this point it doesn't matter," she said while looking at the door and using her psychokinesis to close it after everyone was inside, "How have you been feeling Aurora?""Uh? G-good, I suppose. Nothing weird has happened as of yet. " Aura answered, a little confused and while rubbing her arm, "I'm feeling pretty well. More hungry than normal, but well."Rabiyu didn't say anything else, she just looked at the young human before gently patting her head. This made Aura feel more confused, the elf was not prone to those kinds of displays of affection, it was something new, both she and Sifrei knew that. On the other hand the Elf was now looking at Alderon, the poor man. She wondered if she should use the power of Rufus to find out of his daughter was safe, and then ask for another one's help to bring her back to her father, but that would mean two less wishes to help the rest of the humans. At this point Rabiyu took the lava lamp in her hands before looking at Alderon and Helios.
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted May 14, 2018 - Soren Monroe, Servant of Shiva's Will - Mystras, Raiden's Villa, with a rather large Conglomeration now - It would seem that a study was now an optimum space for a gathering, for several more people had entered Raiden's Study, including His Highness, Jynn Venas, a Cyph that de-cloaked upon Raiden's desk which surprised Soren little, for the Cyph race was a difficult one for the Fey to eradicate, much to Soren's displeasure such an act of genocide was. What was surprising was the emergence of the shapeshifter, Helios, the Fey Soren had last met upon the battlefield, on opposite sides a long while ago. Perhaps his talk about the now late Ren Mordecai and such had gotten to him, though the mere thought of Ren brought a swathe of emotions to the already distressed Soren. Joy, yet grief. Pride, yet regret. Hope, yet sorrow. Such a waste of life, Soren could only think, as Ren's death only became more real to him as time passed. Shaking these thoughts away, Soren gave a quick bow to Jynn, then walked over to Helios and Alderon as the former attempted to console the grieving, despairing human King, setting his helmet down to his side and kneeling next to the both of them. Helios's words rang true in Soren's mind, he himself hoping that King Alderon would take them on board and stand tall once more. It was then that Helios addressed the Lord of Mystras and Prince Jynn, whom Soren recognized as King, no matter what, asking a question that forced Soren to spring back up into a stand and look at Helios. "Not until we're all dead we're not...Helios." Soren announced to Helios and by extension, everyone else, though he drifted as he spoke his name...to face him again was...more than a little trying. "You've learned much, I see...it's, good to see you well." He spoke with a little less confidence than he had hoped to convey, but Soren was truly glad to see Helios had not only survived the War, but was here now when someone needed help most. Soren then looked to Rabiyu for a moment. "The secret is safe with me, by the way. None shall know beyond this room." He affirmed, then turned to face Lord Raiden and King Alderon. "Listen to me, Alderon, Raiden, both of you." Soren began, rolling his shoulders, alternating looking between them. "It is no fault of Raiden's that we're in this desperate position, but Alderon is right. If I'm correct, Yevgeni has just destroyed an entire world and murdered countless innocents, all the while posturing as the paragon in all of this and sitting where Jynn ought to be. He has committed more atrocities than the Queenslayer, thus he is our number one concern!" He stated firmly, gesturing to Jynn when mentioned, but he didn't raise his voice beyond an urgent tone. "But if we are to succeed, we must work together, Alderon. Where would you go, otherwise!? Yevgeni has taken your lands from you and scattered them to the empty winds, you have no other option, unless you seek to resign yourself and your race to extinction." Soren's following words were harsh, but he wanted to spur the King into action, because this attack upon Humanity hurt Soren too, though it paled in the face of Alderon's anguish. "If we encounter the Queenslayer on our way, then, well...we'll be hitting two birds with one stone." Soren added, noting that the man is still dangerous despite their more imminent threat. Soren then pondered, briefly looking away from the both of them, before sharply facing Rabiyu. "That lamp is capable of much, but I doubt it would be able to restore the World Below the Sea of Clouds, ahh, the Human World..." He said, correcting himself near the end out of respect for Humanity. "But..." Soren then walked to Raiden and Alderon again, taking a quill and paper and beginning to draw. "When I was the Sentinel to Isopolis, I was charged with guarding the sacred, forbidden shrine with my life, along with managing the Prisons as their Warden. I was never to speak to anyone of what the Shine was or what it contained, only could I say what my duty was, otherwise I was sworn to an Oath of Secrecy." Soren explained, drawing a simple illustration of Isopolis as he did, highlighting the center. "As a technicality, however..." Soren then looked up to Raiden. "I'm no longer bound by said oath." Then he looked to the drawing again. "Along with it being closest to the Human World, hence that Infiltrator of yours deciding it was to be the entry point for Humanity I'd assume, Isopolis contains something truly sacred and legendary." He stated calmly, marking a spot with an X as he put the quill back in its holder. "The Source of All Life." Soren finished, slightly relieved as he revealed Isopolis's closely guarded secret, one that he was entrusted with to guard with his life once upon a time, something that he and a select few knew was real and where it was, though that list unfortunately included Yevgeni. (I assume Soren would know what Isopolis contained, as he was its sole guardian, so I'd think he'd have to know the stakes. That and plot advancement. ) - Meksis, the United, Armour of Twilight - Kilkis Seres, Battle of Two Brothers - Although Meksis's initial stun and barrage of attacks was successful, Maxis soon caught on and broke out of his restraints and prevented a second casting, Meksis's hand was now restrained as he got an uncomfortably close look at his blood brother, particularly the strange liquids and energies leaking out of him, as he had seen previously before the Chaos God that inhabits Maxis's mind destabilized Meksis and his brother escaped. This close to the madness, Meksis was able to feel its power, the presence of the Chaos God bore down upon him and despite Maxis doing the talking, he could feel the deity's presence as if he were the one staring him down and speaking. Maxis quickly retrieved his removed arm from Meksis's assault and delivered a crushing uppercut to Meksis's gut, though it didn't have the intended effect. While he felt something akin to pain, Meksis did not move an inch, electing to tank the punch as he was strengthened by his resolve and a little aid from the Defiled behind the scenes. "You'll soon find out...brother. I wanted to make this quick, for both our sakes." Meksis's aura of light then flared in response. "Now I must fight. Fight, to free you, Maxis, to purge you of this, God of Chaos...this blight upon your mind, I will destroy it this time!" Meksis spoke with a commanding tone, one that he rarely if ever in the last few millennia had to use, but it wasn't by choice, he felt his passive power driving his words as he watched Maxis back off. "The Shadow fears the Light, for that is why it lurks beneath. You have much power, but even a God can bleed. And today, you will suffer me, blight!" Meksis declared, then he was lifted into the air by a Shadow Clone of Maxis, after the real thing had closed in on him to psych him out, allowing the Clone to immobilize him while Maxis prepared to strike with the madness itself empowering his punch. Meksis's hands were still free, so he was able to conjure a metal shield, infused with Light, which blocked the Madness Punch, attempting to throw Maxis's off with a shield bash. He would then replace his broadsword for a small axe that he would bury into one of the Clone's arms, forcing it to release him as he swiftly turned on the spot and rung its neck, destroying the clone, before facing Maxis quickly, his "eyes" glowing brilliantly beneath his helmet as he charged toward Maxis, briefly summoning a Crossbow to shoot a bolt at Maxis's foot to immobilize him and attempt to assail him with two, bigger, but still one-handed axes. - Nergal, the Queenslayer, Disguised as Brave Kilkis Messenger/Bouncer - Kilkis Seres, Palace Gates, facing off with Henry - It seemed to Nergal that Henry wasn't intending to back down, for his stride did not slow, never mind cease. The change of colour to one of Henry's eyes did surprise Nergal, if only a little, but it was curious indeed. Keeping up his facade, Nergal brought out the sheathed blade from beneath his grey messenger cloak and loosened it just a little from the scabbard threateningly with his thumb. "I will not ask you again, Human. Back. Off!" Nergal declared in the same perfectly emulated voice, preparing to do battle if he must. However, the two potential combatants would find themselves interrupted by the call of a stranger, a girl, who wanted them to wait, for she felt she knew Henry it seemed. Killing her would blow Nergal's cover and surprisingly, he would also feel it unnecessary, not to mention reckless even if he weren't trying to hide. In his messenger persona, Nergal decided to show concern, extending his free hand toward Elia in a warning gesture. "Stay back, young one! This man is dangerous and hostile! He intends to bring harm to the Regent!" 'The Messenger' declared in warning, not wishing for Elia to interfere and get herself hurt or even killed in a crossfire, though if she did know him, perhaps she could reason with the Dreadnought...though that seemed incredibly unlikely, or so Nergal hoped. rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted May 14, 2018 {Mariel: Mystras; Among the Refugees} Mariel's eyes narrowed as the bug fey distracted the human and disappeared from sight. Instinct kicked in and she began looking for other signs of the creature's presence. She thought she had it when Arthur addressed her and offered a fruit. "No, I-" The disguised angel began, but cut herself off when she heard Everyth's voice. Stepping back a pace, Mariel watched the young soldier and the bodyguard speak. They spoke of a mutual loved one, now gone. More guilt poured into the angel's heart. Another life she might have saved if she had been patient. But Arthur still managed to push through his pain and seek to comfort others. The boy had a strong heart. Something she knew she needed as well. "I recommend the green ones." Mariel said to Everyth, a few tears welling in her eyes. "Though they can be quite tart." She took a deep breath, then looked Everyth in the eye. "Well met, again." She greeted. "Though I wish it was under better circumstances." The angel's gaze switched between Everyth and Arthur. "My apologies for eavesdropping. And I am sorry for your loss." Vaude 536 Posted May 15, 2018 - Lord Raiden, within Raiden's villa - Raiden quickly found himself amidst a swarm of people crowding the increasingly shrinking room, some appearing out of thin air and others just entering through the door. With such a conglomeration, it was difficult to keep secrets, but now, while all was falling apart, there seemed to be no reason to keep secrets. WIth Jynn in the room and Alderon as well, it was a fine time to enact diplomacy, at least until Alderon exploded in wrath directed at him. Him. Raiden bit back a snarl, glaring at King Alderon with a fit of anger that made him want to lash out in defence of his own sense of justice and judgement. Regardless of the fury in his shaking fist, he stoppered all thoughts of getting vengeance for the verbal thrashing he received, but what held him back, he wondered? Was it honour, or his sense of peace, or popular standing? He hoped it was none of the above, and that it was merely his sense of good character, but that might have not been it at all. He held check his tongue until everyone seemed finished, but the latest revelation was one with which he was not able to quell his surprise. The fabled Source of All Life, an ancient mystery merely hinted at in the remaining passages of antiquated texts written in dead languages -- could it have been real, and buried in the one place that started all of this mess? He inspected the map as if to ensure what he heard was real. The illustration was crude, but the location should not have existed. Teshub and he checked all possible records of the location, and no rough map they looked at ever told of such a location. This intrigued him. "Soren, do you speak truly? Does the Source of All Life exist within this nigh unassailable fortress?" he spoke with a weighted tongue, looking up at the armoured individual with a finger on the X. "With this tremendous artefact, great things can be done. The World Below could be restored to its former glory, the people lost found again, if the legends of sacred mystery are true. I have gleaned a little into knowledge of this area, long ago, but it is still fresh in my mind. Things can change. "Alderon," he continued, looking toward the man with a mixed expression of pain and earnestness with a clearing of his throat, "I will not wholly take responsibility for the charges with which you judged me, but with this new knowledge I can help correct what was done, with everyone's combined assistance who can help. That includes you, if you are willing. "Once this is done, we can go after Yevgeni. The information people here have gathered has led me to suspect he truly is behind the destruction of the world below, but he must be second. Time is of essence, and I must have answers from everyone here, and from everyone of proven strength in our combined armies, if we are to break into Isopolis and find the Source. Does this sit well with all of you? Alderon?" He looked about the room, chiefly at Alderon, hoping for a positive response. This was it, a chance for restitution. Even if he did not receive good feedback, he wondered if he would charge right up to Isopolis alone, if need be, and try to break down the gates himself to gain access to this old secret. Such power was beyond him, currently, but with Teshub maybe he stood a chance, if his twin ever got over himself. - Jari Coriander, within the Burrow in Mystras (part 3 of 3)- A hundred grueling minutes passed by of poking and prodding in the forms of questions, and Jari felt more and more defeated with every inquiry. The questions ranged greatly, from the simple "What is your favourite colour?" to the highly personal like "What are the desired traits in a love interest?" to invasive interrogation of his innermost self. Almost every time he answered, he was met with a judgemental nod, gruff and inconsiderate, and lately the queries stumped him. They were either difficult or on the verge of strangeness. However, according to Grandfather Wit, he had to answer as truthfully as possible every time, and answer he did. "While in town a baker gives you a sweetroll. Delighted, you take it into an alley to enjoy only to be intercepted by a gang of three other kids your age. The leader demands the sweetroll, or else he and his friends will beat you and take it. What would you do?" said Grandfather Wit. "I would give him the sweetroll, then take it back with my other family members later when I have the number advantage," Jari answered with as much honesty as he can muster after much pause. He was practically related to everyone else in the Burrow, so this made some sense. Grandfather Wit looked at him with a raised eyebrow before jotting something down on a chalkboard the size of a tablet. "A girl you know very little about professes her love toward you. You do not like any other girls, but you know this girl is very sensitive. What do you do, and why would you do it?" "I . . . um . . . will give her a chance. I do not want to hurt her, and if she is sensitive turning her down would end really badly for her." "Uh-huh," commented Grandfather Wit tersely, with another scribbling of chalk. "Second to last question: how do you think you fared right now?" Jari's tail dipped between his legs, though he tried to hide it. He swallowed hard, feeling the pressure of the situation, before he voiced in a squeak, "Poorly, honestly." "And poorly is right," sighed Grandfather Wit, clacking the chalk against the board in annoying fashion. He paid little attention to the young man before him, staring intently at the marked up slate. The younger foxchild felt as if he were stabbed. His heart beat wildly within his chest as his lungs tried to yield oxygen to his brain but failed. Tears fell from his face as his knees wobbled and threatened to buckle. "You had potential, Jari, truly," continued the elder, halting his drumming instrument. "You have had much happen to you in your young life, but your inaction stalls you. Your love interest died on the field of battle, and yet you did nothing. Your angry lashouts do not even hint of bravery, nor does it suit you. You are just a coward, young one, a sneaky coward. You are unfit to be a kitsune. You were meant to be a foxchild, and you will always be a foxchild." That was the twist of the knife, an undeserving comment after a string of undeserving comments that crushed him thoroughly. He fell forward in a fit of sadness, staring down at the ground with tears blearing his vision and his hands outstretched before him. "You shouldn't be too sad. I told you before I asked you all of this that there was a penalty to becoming a kitsune. In exchange for better prowess in battle and a stronger mindset against adversity, physical or otherwise, you lose much of what makes you, well, you. You lose your cunning edge, almost all sense of strategy. Your self-preservation goes kaput. Cloaking yourself in skins does not work, no matter how practiced you are. Jari, don't you want to live long, to wed and have kids and grandkids and great grandkids? You told me you did. To do that, you need to accept your role in the world, the one you were born into, or would you sacrifice more for less?" For Jari, this was the last straw, and he looked up at Grandfather Wit with fierce eyes. "What would living long do for others when I look only after myself and outlive everyone else? Grandpapa, others choose causes they believe in and die by the day. Morana, the girl I liked, was beheaded because I failed to act. My friend Kouroo could have died had I not acted a while back against a Storm Lord. If I be the coward everyone assumes me to be, just because of a few genes, I cannot live a good life, just a long one. Even if it isn't long, I want a good life, and I would sacrifice whatever I need to within reason to defend the people I know and love, even at the cost of myself." Grandfather Wit batted his amber eyes before tossing a serrated grin towards Jari and motioning for him to turn his head. When Jari did, what he saw shocked him. Two tails greeted him, longer, bushier, and full of vibrant life. The tears in his eyes dried from radiant heat as he felt strangely warmer, an inner fire unleashed within him. When did this happen? When did it start? "Congratulations, Jari. You've done it," the elder fox stated, placing the chalkboard and chalk down onto his lap as he smiled. "I admit I misled you, but you were so close. You just needed some extra oomph to push you over the edge, and I wanted you to be sure of your decision. That, and you tested out my new personality quiz for me, ho ho!" "You mean I'm--" "I do indeed, young one. You are a kitsune now, and now there is no going back. However, for the price of a good life you can protect, this will be worth it for you, won't it?" Jari glanced down at one of his hands as he raised it close to his face, gripping it strongly. Every cell in his body felt lit with an indwelling flame, and energy seemed to course through his blood. Strength now coursed through him, greater than he thought, but still novice in comparison to someone with millennia or even years of training. He needed to get better somehow, adept enough to defend his friends and loved ones, but that will take time. Now, though, he wanted to celebrate. He wanted to show off. First, however, he wanted to give credit where credit was due. "Thank you very much, Grandpapa!" he exclaimed, rising to his feet and hugging the elder tight. Grandfather Wit bashfully squeezed his descendant lightly back before they broke away. Coughing in embarrassment, he set everything on the table and shifted his posture in his cushy seat. "You're very welcome, sonny, but don't come back wanting to be a foxchild anymore, because it is absolutely impossible for that to happen. Now, go, have a drink with your ugly friends and celebrate before you leave. You have people to defend or whatever, and I have my paper to catch up on." ((I put this in spoilers because of its crazy length. Have fun, those who dare to tread within this three-page monstrosity.)) 1 Mystics Apprentice reacted to this
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted May 15, 2018 --King Alderon -- Raiden's Study-- The fey sympathized greatly with his loss, though no amount of apologies or understanding could bring back what had been lost. For several moments the man stood, palms against the smooth mahogany, shaking as tears streamed down his face. He gave pause, however, when Soren brought up The Source of All Life: an object with immense power hidden within the depths of Isopolis. Isopolis. He knew of this place; it was where their journey began all those months ago, back when excitement filled the air at the prospect of venturing through a new world. It was a place of many secrets, but the answers to his prayers? There was only one way to find out. "Let us go to it," Alderon spoke, striding over to examine the map that Soren proffered, his head bending in toward Raiden's. "All vengeance can wait. We must save everyone. But, I must ask: is revival of such great magnitude really possible? What will happen to the Overworld as a result? I thought the human world was draining your magic." Would it be a revival, only at the cost of their current world? He dared not imagine it, though he feared that it were so. At the cost of one life another must pay; perhaps that is why this Yevgeni made the decision that he had. --Everyth Castanova--Raiden's villa-- The witch's eyes glittered darkly as Mariel made her presence known to her, having just declined fruit prior to Arthur proffering it to her. She took the angel's advice and accepted one of the green fruits, turning it in several different angles before taking a bite. "Thank you," she told Arthur. "It really is marvelous. I never tasted anything like it back home." She listened to Arthur's tale, smiling as she too thought back on the fallen princess. "There certainly was something charming about her, wasn't there? She had the sweetest smile, and it was such a joy being in her service." Everyth met Arthur's eye. "I know that she cared deeply for you in like. She never said the words, or not to me, but you could see it within her eyes and hear it in her voice whenever she spoke of you. I do wonder how His Highness would've accepted your engagement." Everyth turned her head, glancing out one of the hall's long windows nearest her. "Sir Alastor would be correct: nothing good will come from mourning, though I think what he doesn't understand is that us humans all need a chance to get it out, at least for a short while. That's what makes us human." The raven-haired woman's attention shifted toward Mariel, whom had apologized for eavesdropping. She shook her head. "No need, we are out in the open anyway. If I didn't want you to hear I would've ensured that you wouldn't." Everyth regarded her for a moment before adding: "So what does this all mean for you? What are you going to do next?" Meanwhile . . . . "Idiots," Midnea thought to herself, ruby lips stretching into a contorted smile as she traversed the damp soil, spear in hand. It dug into the soft soil every few steps she tread, long violet dress trailing behind her. "They merely thought that I was after my kingdom. That blond bigot thinks everyone's intelligence is below his. Well, I've outsmarted him. What I was really after--" The wind picked up around Midnea, blowing her skirts and tousling her hair. She lifted her head toward the heavens and laughed, giving flight to all the birds in the deadened trees whom feared her. Before her rested the tower of Isopolis, its mysterious aura emanating a greenish hue that danced into the clouds. The Source of All Life: an object of collected energies from a great loss, spawned to rejuvenate and compensate for the destruction. Its creation occurred due to the loss of the World Below and the billions of lives, though what was done with it was all up to the beholder. Few knew of its existence, but Midnea was among the collective individuals who had. Too many years had she fingered through books and legends in the World Below, this one catching her interest most of all. With it she could be queen of both the universe and her beloved, she could inflict pain and cause her subjects to both love and fear her simultaneously. "Was this." Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 15, 2018 - Helios - Mystras - /w everyone in Raiden's office - Raiden's Meeting - Helios knew that his words would mean nothing, yet he tried still. Would he ever forgive Alderon? No. Did he still hated the man? Partially, but not as much as before. He sympathized the fact of his loss. He quite literally lost everything. No amount of consolation could fix it. But no harm in trying. He looked up, recognizing Soren's voice. Last time he saw him they had tried to kill each other in the battlefield before Soren screamed at him rather...constructive words. Those words still stuck to him. Helios nodded at Soren. "You...I'm glad to see you as well...you really knocked some sense into me back there." Helios hummed, his voice calm as she smiled softly at Soren. He backed away from Alderon, returning to Aura's side as he listened to Soren. The name of Yevgeni rang familiar, but not enough. He knew of the man...a noble, rather powerful politically wise...but nothing more than that. "(He was behind it?)" A crazy move to force himself onto the throne? Maybe. Most likely. After all, Jynn was here still. Helios remained quiet, listening Soren scold Alderon and insist on a solution through unity, which was the most profitable option available...to recover- "The Source of All Life?" Helios whispered, his eyes widening. He had never heard of anything like that. Not in books nor stories nor libraries...and it was hidden within the ruins this whole time? It sounded...powerful. Dangerously powerful. More than anything else that they had encountered before. Helios peeked at the map, watching the reactions ever so carefully. Even Raiden didn't know of it's existence, it seemed. It could do amazing feats, fix everything, even- "Bring the human world back?" He asked under his breath, his heart racing at the thought. He looked at Aura to confirm that he wasn't the only one hearing this, looking back in awe. Once Raiden asked if everyone agreed, Helios carefully stepped up. "I wish to offer my powers and abilities to you for this endeavor...if you wish for them." Helios offered, bowing his head. "My lord." He added. He stood before many power figures, and was careful not to sound too intruding. Maybe he should step back? If asked so, he would. Alderon's question did cause concern, however. "That is a concern indeed." Helios whispered, perking his head up. "Unless this instrument has a power comparable to that of a god..." Helios's eyes narrowed. "(It could end up making things worse.)" He thought, considerably worried. Because there was no power to be gained without a cost. - Arthur - Mystras - /w Mariel & Everyth - Helping the refugees - Arthur looked at Mariel, quickly wiping away his tears. "No worries! We're just talking, no need to apologize." Arthur insisted, trying to keep his cheeks dry, even as Everyth's words only caused even more tears to escape his eyes. He pursed his lips, looking down at the basket. "Maybe by having a chat with him while his elite knights stand around us?" Arthur muttered, a smile on his lips at the thought. He had great respect for his king. He had done everything that a human could do for the sake of his kingdom, no matter the cost...and even now, he would follow him to the end. "Yeah...Sir Alastor keeps smacking me back into composure, so I guess it's not all bad after a bit." He chuckled, holding the basket closer. What would be the next step? What now? Was it still a war, or was it now a standstill? "Where is the king? Is he alright?" He asked, frowning. "I...I know he must be mourning, as we all are, and must be busy with lord Raiden too..." He hummed. He wouldn't want to interrupt such meetings, as the refugees and Fey surely required more assistance than him...but mourning alone didn't sound good, either. Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) Jynn and Bherna-Raiden's Villa Thankfully, Typhon and Alicia were able to fight back for Jynn without him saying a word. But Baxter's whereabouts did raise some questions, but for another time. As soon as Bherna, Helios, and Aura enter the villa, Alderon starts to blame Raiden that the World Below's disappearance is his fault. Alderon's frustrations seem to disappear as soon as Soren brings up his past duties at Isopolis, explaining that the shrine holds "The Source of All Life". The Source of All Life, why has he never heard of such a thing? His mother has never mentioned such a thing. Regardless, he was not all that surprised to hear about something like that resting in the Forbidden Shrine. Jynn looks towards Raiden when he asked if Soren is positive that there is such a source. "Well, he did say he served there, so I don't think we have much of a choice but to believe him." Both Raiden and Alderon agree to go there, so that left Jynn. He crosses his arms and gives it some thought. What would happen when they do find the shrine, and will Yevgeni be there? "I have so many concerns about this venture, but it could probably be the only way we can restore the World Below. However, everything usually comes at a cost. And my question is; what? I'll join this venture as well, but I have a feeling that we should tread with caution." (Suffering a bit of Writer's Block as well. Just trying to keep up.) Saber Lily 1,543 Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) Jeremy of Hunter - Facing down Smokey Monster Hidden Queenslayer with THE HULK Hogan The Daedalus of Hunter alighted behind Henry, and began to calmly walk up. "Hey, cloaky hidey guy." He had no care in the world. "I'm here to discuss with Yevgiovanni what we're going to do to keep famine away, with what, five million more people now in the Overworld?" He caught the tail end of the conversation, but honestly was only here for the refugees. If Yev had enemies, well. Regents whose eyes seemed dull yet sparkly...they didn't sit well with him. The Icarus turned to Henry. "So, I'll call you Kaz until we get introduced. So Kaz, do you want to kill the regent, or is this...thing...just hate that your armor looks cool?" He jerked a thumb Nergal, seeming to have zero care in the world. Eclaire Oathkeeper - Palace of Kilkis Seres The Retainer of the Queen awoke. The commotion from below had awoken her from sweet slumber, and she groaned. Feeling arms around her, she remembered last night. Right. Feeding. Sliding away, she climbed out of bed and tucked in Fiona, before turning away, body engulfed in light as she summoned to her armor - the armor of a Valkyrie. the silvered wings appeared in shattering light, and to her hand she summoned Shiva, the silver sword that bore her love's name. "...sleep well, Fiona." She whispered, before heading to the door...not that she had to touch them, as they opened. The guard look...well, he looked pretty whelmed. "Your house arrest is over, Retainer. As you know of the calamity below, there are far more important matters." Eclaire frowned, then saluted. He returned it, before backing away. This...false arrest was to keep people off her, following Shiva's death. But this was enough. She stormed past him, not in range but purpose. She leaped from the upper floors, falling fast. Wings flaring to life, she landed behind Nergal a good twenty yards, and began advancing. "You..." she frowned. His energy...his life...it was faint. It was...foul. "The one with the cloak. What is going on down h...hello, Jeremy." She said. "Is my mother at the City?" "Aye. Guess that explains one thing." Eclaire sighed. "He who is cloaked, please explain the situation." _________________ https://imgur.com/a/AAVzNTA Eclaire's armor, and upgraded wings for later Edited May 16, 2018 by Sabre Lily
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 16, 2018 - Henry - "Kaz" - Kilkis Seres castle gates - "One...how do you know im human? Far as I know humans an fey are indistinguishable from one another." Henry replied narrowing his eyes at the cloaked man as he heard a voice behind him, a woman's...something about her voice filled him with...nostalgia? and...sorrow? What did this mean? who was she? Henry turned to face her as she asked if she knew her. "I...don't think so?" Henry replied, confused and thoughtful, before turning to face Nergal again as he spoke, claiming Henry was there to hurt the regen, possibly. Only further confusion was increased as Jeremy, someone he had no idea who he was, appeared behind Henry and Elia and walked calmly towards Nergal. The guy instantly nicknamed Henry "kaz", a nicknamed Henry strangely wasn't exactly against it, he was actualy quite fond of it, simple to say and carries around weight, still, he asked about his intentions to the regent, to which he sighed. "I do no wish to kill the regent, I have something important I must speak to him, that is why I came here. If I was going to kill him you really think i'd come in the middle of the day? and through the front door for that matter?" Henry explained as he then looked right back at Nergal. Extending his arm in front of Elia as if to tell her to stay back. "Stay back, this is about to get ugly..." Henry noted the obvious, as Eclaire soon appeared by dropping behind the cloaked individual...since when was she...a cat girl? what the hell?! Henry was surprised but he didn't say anything. Henry stepped fowards to adress them. "This is between me and him, please stay out of it." Henry spoke to them, trying, possibly in vain, to keep them out of it as a fight between him and Nergal was almost guaranteed to occur. - Maxis - Dementia - Battle of two brothers - Maxis emitted a joyful laugh as Meksis blocked his punch with a shield he made with his free hands. "I always lurked beneath because light was always too proud to look under its own nose!" Maxis joked in an unnervingly friendly tone as if to remind Meksis without insulting him. Meksis did not send him back with a shield back, as Maxis quickly recovered fast enough to jump away to a semi-safe distance. As Meksis caved an axe on one of the clone's arms, forcing it to release him as Meksis went on to twist the Clone's neck. "Really? I don't even have a ne-" THe clone was about to taunt Meksis as it was simply recalled back to Maxis mid sentence as its job was done. "Well." Maxis spoke extending his arms to an incoming Meksis, "Your turn!" Maxis gleefuly announced. As Meksis charged at him, conjuring a crossbow to shoot Maxis's leg in an attempt to immobilize him, Maxis simply sidestepped the bolt as he stood completely still so Meksis could assail with him axes. However this time Maxis didn't just stand there and took the axe blows, as Meksis assailed him, Maxis weaved, dodged, blocked, deflected most of the blows, most of them got through, but the same ones would have been met with quick punches towards Meksis's torso, throat area and stomach if he did, making sure his brother didn't get out undamaged as well. After a few repetitions of this, with madness energy being spilt from the blows he took, Maxis vanished on the spot for a split second as Meksis was about to strike him with the axe, at the exact moment of Maxis's vanishment he reappeared with a karate chop with crushing force to the back of Meksis's head. Should Meksis react in time to dodge the chop he'd also have to contend with Maxis's other hand about to blast him away with madness energy. "Oh I get it, your earlier corruption or whatever is now gone...you seem more stable, thats good to hear!" Maxis spoke happily, as he laughed. "Well I guess Ivany came through to you as she always came through to me." Maxis happily explained, even though Meksis was now trying to kill him and his god inside of him, Maxis still treated Meksis like a friend, even if he had to beat him up a bit, Maxis had no intention of killing his friend. "Maybe we can take this up a notch?" Maxis spoke as a very powerful aura of pure shadow energy began to emanate around him. As he had his arms extended in a 'come at me' motion. Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted May 17, 2018 --Elia Cabret -- Kilkis Seres palace gates-- Bring harm to the regent? Good, was all that Elia could think when Nergal commanded her to stand back. She squinted at Henry, placing her pastry-free hand on her hip. She didn't recognize him, yet something about him screamed familiarity; what could it be? "You should let him through," Elia commented, licking some syrup from the back of her hand. "I don't know why, but I get this feeling that he's telling the truth." What would her word matter, though? She was just some fairy passing through, though she did have a history with the regent. "Why don't I help you see him?" She smiled from Henry to Nergal in turn. "Why don't you tell Yevgeni Malachite that Ariana Cabret's sister is here to see him. He won't refuse me." Not that she particularly wished to see that elf's face, but she did desire to help this human, for reasons she herself couldn't fathom.
Elrandir 783 Posted May 17, 2018 - Rabiyu, Sifrei and Aura - Raiden's Study -Aura was confused as to what the "Source of all Life" was. Apparently it was something so important that it was inside the forbidden shrine. Rabiyu thought about it for a moment, trying to remember if she had heard such a name in the past, but she came up with nothing. Sifrei had heard the name many, many thousands of years ago, but he didn't exactly knew what the Source was, only that it was very important and very powerful. The two judges looked at Raiden and nodded."It will be our pleasure to help you, Your Lordship," Sifrei said while bowing slightly, "We will assist you, just like we have been doing all this time.""I concur. We will join you in this task," Rabiyu said, "This situation must be rectified. And if this "Source of all Life" is the key, then we will help you.""I wish to go too," Aura chimed in, "If this can help restore our world then sign me up."Objects of such power were often coveted by dark individuals, and Rabiyu was sure that, if in possession of such knowledge, Yevgeni would try to get his hands on it, just like the Dark Witch would do too, no matter where she was at the moment. The Elf was looking between the human king and Raiden, she was sure that there would be some tension thanks to the current situation, but perhaps there was a chance to offer the human king some peace of mind."If I may be excused for a moment," Rabiyu said to Raiden, "Aurora, please, come with me."Without waiting for an answer Rabiyu turned around while the door opened on its own. She left the room while quickly being followed by Aura, who was confused as to why the elf wanted her to follow.- Rabiyu and Aura - Raiden's Villa - Rooftop - The quick journey to the rooftop was silent, for the most part, thanks to the servants and refugees, but once in the solitude of the rooftop Rabiyu turned to look at a confused Aura."I am sure you know what this lamp is, correct?" Rabiyu said while holding the lamp on her hands."O-Of course. It is Rufus's lamp. The djinni who can grant wishes, yes?" Aura replied."Correct. Now, while I offered Rufus's wish-granting abilities to help, I'm afraid that I do not fully trust everyone with that kind of power, not yet anyways," Rabiyu said calmly, "I need to make sure that once I do what I'm planning to do, you are the next person who gets ownership of the artifact.""What are you planing to do, Eli?" Aura asked the white haired elf, "Are you going to make a wish? now?""I do. I know that you noticed that Raiden and Alderon are not on the best terms at the moment. The human king has a wound that cannot be healed, unless we obtain this Source of all Life, or so he thinks," Rabiyu answered, "The world below cannot be restored, but I am sure that we can wish for his daughter's safe return, if she is still alive and well, of course.""I suppose that could work, but what if his daughter does not show up? Do you realize what that would mean for Alderon, Eli?" Aura said, a slightly worried look on her face, "It would break what little pieces of his heart he has left. It could make him do things that otherwise would not be normal for him to do.""I do, and I see no other option with the little time we have left. In any case, that is what I wanted to say, Aurora. Once I make my wish you will be the new owner of the lamp for the time being." Rabiyu said to Aura.Aura didn't knew what to respond, it was a sudden responsability that fell on her shoulders. But if the elf thought that she was capable of doing it then she had to trust in her. The young woman gave a small nod of understanding. Rabiyu inderstood the meaning behind that nod and without hesitation she looked at the lamp and rubbed her hand on its surface."Rufus, can you come outside for a moment? I'm afraid that the time to use your services has arrived."
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 17, 2018 Jynn and Bherna-Raiden's Villa It seems that everyone was wanting to go. Rabiyu and Sifrei step outside for a moment after agreeing to the plan. Bherna sighs. "Well, it didn't take much to get everyone to settle down." She turns to Jynn, who seemed troubled by something. "Father? Is everything alright?" Jynn doesn't immediately reply. It was easy to tell that something has caught his attention. What is this ominous aura he is feeling? "Something's troubling me. I sense something that I haven't felt for centuries............." He looks around, everyone was listening to him, and he didn't want to cause a panic. "Sorry. Just thinking out loud......" Bherna scratches her head in confusion. Jynn then faces Alicia. rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted May 17, 2018 {Mariel: Mystras; Among the Refugees} Mariel took a steadying breath as she looked around at the humanity around her as she considered Everyth's questions. "All this means I failed." She said simply. "I came to the Overworld to prevent more loss of life, but it turns out I wasn't looking in the right places for danger." Her eyes rested on a mother huddled with her children, clutching them tightly. The angel wondered who they had lost. "As for what's next, I don't know." She said, dragging her attention back to Everyth. "I still have the Hosts to answer to. I don't seem to be of much use anymore." With a thoughtful look, Mariel looked over at Arthur. "Though perhaps that is the sorrow speaking, looking to drown what's left."
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 20, 2018 - Typhon And Alicia - Bug and Mage - Raiden's study - As the most prominent figures in the group began to speak, Soren raising the topic of the source of all life, not only sparking everyone's curiosity as well as also giving a spark of hope for some, they could bring back the world below with such power, if its what it truly allowed. As Rabyiu and Aura proceeded to leave the study and head somewhere else, Alicia agreed with Jynn's thoughts about the venture for Isopolis. Bringing a hand to her chin. "To be fair, it would be of no doubt that it'd be dangerous, especially if it was meant to be a secret." Alicia commented. "So, you're telling me in that temple, there is something that can bring the world below back?" Typhon asked, curiosity fillling his tone as he jumped off the table he sat on. "I don't really owe anyone here anything...but...eh. Screw it, my species are already dead, right?" Typhon spoke, shooting a glance with his face place towards Raiden "Whats one less, hm?", even after all these years, Typhon's grudge still remained. "Seems like a win-win. I die y'all don't have to see me anymore, I live I can keep tormenting you all forever more!" Typhon spoke with actual...gleeful snarkiness in his voice? it was strange that the bug man would find a time like this to poke fun and be an arse, but he was always bitter, and it was his first time meeting Raiden anyway. "And don't worry, I don't have magic so I don't think i'l even be able to come close to this source of all life, so you don't have to worry about me stealing it." The added in. Jynn soon looked at Alicia, and asked about Baxter...a topic she didn't exactly like talking about. "Baxter...Baxter's dead." Alicia spoke, immediately looking down onto the ground, "A group of traveling merchants found his corpse out in the woods, stabbed in the back by someone or something, I could barely believe my eyes as they brought the body to the city I was staying in." Alicia explained what she knew of Baxter's death, the details were unclear to her. She didn't know anything else, who did it...or why. - Alastor - Storming - Raiden's Study - As soon as silence would befall on the study, a loud knock on the door would be heard, followed by Alastor's armored boot's stepping on the ground as he entered, as he eyes everyone in the now very crowded study room. Looking at Jynn, and then at Alicia, his expression didn't change, but Alicia could tell he felt something as he looked at her. "Hm." He muttered as he looked around, there was a Cyph here too, interesting, as he looked towards Soren and Raiden. "I do believe I am late to this...but I did overhear a few things from outside the door...and I thought i'd walk in to comment." Alastor explained his sudden entrance to Raiden, "Wouldn't it be prudent to believe Yevgeni knows of this as well? and will head there as soon as possible?" Alastor asked them, serious and cold as always. "We should consider leaving as soon as possible then." Alastor spoke. - Henry - The Dreadnought - Kilkis Seres palace gates - Things were getting tense with the pseudo mexican stand-off the entire area around the gates had become, The cloaked individual now ambushed by NekoClaire, Jeremy standing somewhat beside him and Elia behind him. Henry stared and had prepared himself for anything to happen. He wasn't prepare for what Elia would say however, the brunnete soon walked past him. What was it about her? Her eyes? Her looks? she just looked so...familiar to him, he couldn't understand, and yet, he felt as if he knew. It was only after she said her name and surname out loud for all to hear that he pieced things together, his expression was that of surprise at first, then of pure shock. "...no...way..." Henry muttered under his breath. 'No...way...you had a sister?' 'Elia..." "So thats why she felt so familiar..." "I never expected to see her again...she still looks the same as when I left.' 'Ariana...Im sorry you're in this state and can't talk to her.' 'Its alright...its not your fault.' Quickly recomposing himself before the girl could turn around and see his surprise, he walked beside her, and looked at Nergal. "Well...will you let me through then? Or are you still adamant on stopping me?" Henry asked Nergal directly. With a serious face expression forming as he spoke.
Sora's Baby 729 Posted May 20, 2018 ~Aqua: Hotel Room, Kilkis Seres~Aqua ran her hands through her hair as a frustrated sigh left her lips. She got up. Her research had to be wrong. She couldn’t be human or even part human, it wasn’t possible! It couldn’t be possible. Yet, all the signs pointed to it. Her lack of control over her magic and the fact she needed the staff to help control it. How she had aged so differently than any other elf. The reason she couldn’t bring herself to blindly hate humans during the war. Even how fast she had become friends with that human. He slammed her head down into the desk. She didn’t need this- no she couldn’t handle this in her life right now! She screamed into the wooden desk in frustration. She needed to know for sure. She’d need to get cleaned up before she left her hotel room. Twenty minutes had passed and in that time she had showered, changed, and finally eaten. She put her research into two piles and put her journals away. Now that things were mostly cleaned up it was time to step outside for the first time in days. She could pay for another week while she headed out. She grabbed her bag reached inside and grabbed the money she needed before she put it on her back and stepped out. She walked to the front desk and paid for her room for another week.
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted May 21, 2018 - Soren Monroe, Servant of Shiva's Will - Mystras, Raiden's Study - Soren didn't need to reply to Lord Raiden's warranted question, for Jynn interjected with a justification, something that Soren was grateful for. Not just the reason itself, but being stood up for by the blood of Shiva. Helios and others were all more than willing to join Raiden on this endeavour, though a few questions were raised as to the capability of the Source of All Life, forcing a dour look upon Soren's face as he turned to look more generally at everyone present. "The Source of All Life was devised long ago as a failsafe, for if the World Below endured a cataclysm, man-made or otherwise, we could restore it and all of the souls that perished to life..." Soren uttered, no reverence was in his tone, only calm, yet a sense of foreboding was behind his words. "To accomplish this, the Source is composed entirely of the purest essence...of absolute power. Seemingly infinite energy flows around and from it, in fact, should the need arise, the Tower of Isopolis would be aglow with the aura of the Source, completely engulfed by just the scraps that bleed from the Altar within." He explained as clearly as he could, the sheer magnificence of the Source of All Life and why it was so capable of its purpose. Then a backing of dread set in, the mention of the word "God" by Helios just occurring to him. "However, the Source can do whatever the beholder commands, so the responsibility would be entrusted to only those who would never, ever even think of using it for selfish...or malicious purposes." Soren spoke, hoping not for the worst to come. "So, theoretically, a Fey could indeed take the power and absorb it into themselves...and, for want of a better term...ascend." He added, then became more firm, believing what he would utter next to already be known, but knew it had to be made clear nonetheless. "Which is why Yevgeni cannot be allowed anywhere near it. He's played God once already, let us not allow him to take it any further." Soren declared, picking up his helmet and placing it back upon his head. "I am with you, Lord Raiden." Uttered Soren, who then began to address everyone else, becoming solemn as he did. "You'll all do well to be careful...Isopolis is not kind to the careless. Raiden's Infiltrator did not enter unscathed before he faced me, nor will any of us. You will all be tested!" Soren pointed to them insistently as he went on. "Some of us may not be lucky enough to pass the Trials, I need each of you to understand the risks you'll be taking. Failure to pass the Trials of Isopolis at best will result in denial of passage, but worse and usually, imprisonment until the deed of using the Source is done...or death." Soren ended with a sigh as he spoke of death, yet still, there was more. "I will do my best to guide you all, but be warned: The Trials will adjust and test you accordingly...to who you are. It may prey on your fears, your weaknesses, it may simply seek to test your mettle, or it may even be cruel and subject you to nigh-impossible tasks, I cannot account for all of the variables, but know that Isopolis knows you...and at times, it will seem to hate you, spit on you." Then Soren's spirit seemed to rise. "But should you come out victorious, Isopolis will praise you, just as I will. And hopefully, we'll make it to the Source of All Life before Yevgeni or anyone else who is curious and evil enough to brave the Trials and steal the power for themselves." Soren then gestured to all present, wanting them to be strong for what lay ahead. "Know that I believe in you and that the Overworld and those of the Human World are counting on us to succeed...I only ask, that you make them all proud." Soren concluded, soon enough he relaxed and prepared for their departure to the Forbidden Shrine. - Meksis, the United, Armour of Twilight - Battle of Two Brothers, Kilkis Seres - Meksis's crossbow bolt was a failure and though he was able to close the distance nonetheless to attack his blood brother, Maxis fought back, each successful blow with his axes was met with counterattacks, punches landing upon his chest and stomach, but the ones aimed at his throat were smacked aside as he prepared to retaliate further, only to be met with Maxis vanishing. Neither Meksis had time to think before Maxis delivered a crushing blow to the back of his head, though he managed to resist its potential stunning effects and withstood the blast of Madness Energy, only sliding back a few inches at the cost of his dual axes, which disintegrated. Then it hit him as Maxis spoke: His brother didn't know about the Defiled's continued presence within Meksis, believing it to be purged after the visit to Ivany. The element of surprise was on Meksis's side, so he held off on using the power of Darkness for now. Maxis's friendly tone brought no comfort to Meksis as it once did, for he knew that would melt away sooner or later...he had to save Maxis, he had to kill this God of Chaos once and for all, this understanding brought a more intense aura of Light around Meksis, particularly in response to the Aura of Shadow around Maxis now, who gestured for his brother to attack. So attack he did, Meksis flaring his aura briefly as he began a charge, deciding to go with a Lance and Shield, the former tipped with explosive Light. Meksis knew Maxis had something up his sleeve, even if it were but a simple dodge, so he would continue his charge as a feint, before throwing the Shield at Maxis in whatever direction he moved if he did and would perform a jumping flip over Maxis. During this, Meksis would supercharge the Lance, so that when he threw it, regardless if it hit Maxis or not, the resulting explosion would cause some serious damage. After all was settled and Meksis landed, he would summon a Scimitar to his side, preparing for Maxis's next move. - Nergal, the Queenslayer/Disguised as Brave Kilkis Messenger/Bouncer - Kilkis Seres, Palace Gates - A displeased man was all that lay beneath the Cloak of a Messenger, for Nergal looked at the additional company for a good while. "Why is it I always find myself outnumbered...?" Nergal's internal thoughts rung in his head, as he glanced between them all, listening to Elia Cabret intently however as she vouched for Henry as he stated his lack of desire to cause trouble. The disguised Nergal spoke again in the perfectly feigned voice once more, keeping a hand upon his blade. "Those of us who can sense auras can indeed tell the difference between a Human and a Fey, though you are a mix of both it seems...why else do you possess such power?" Nergal then sheathed the slightly exposed sword and covered it back up with the cloak and stood sharp. "You disarm me with your words, Sister of Ariana. I'm sure the Regent will be pleased to see you." Nergal then gestured to Henry and Elia in a welcoming fashion, yet still firm as a guard. "Come with me, both of you. And stay close. But leave this...other guest." He stated insistently, pointing lightly to Jeremy of Hunter. "The Regent has everything under control regarding feeding the millions, your issue can wait." Nergal uttered, his persona's words were mildly dismissive, but professional, though the true Nergal couldn't care less what he had to say. As he left, he simply nodded in respect to Eclaire, recognizing her as the Queen's Retainer. "Noble Retainer." He simply said, while leading Henry and Elia to the Palace Entrance. --------------------- "My Regent! We have guests! Are you here? They say it is of the utmost importance!" 'The Messenger' bellowed, noticing Yevgeni's absence and hoped he would hear his calling, despite the differing voice. 1 Mystics Apprentice reacted to this
Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 21, 2018 - Helios - Mystras - /w everyone in Raiden's office - Raiden's Meeting - Helios glanced as Aura and Rabiyu excused themselves, smiling a bit before his attention returning to the meeting. Specifically, Soren's explanation. It made his blood run cold. It wasn't a sentient being, nor something with a conscious that could either accept or deny its user. It was a weapon. Nothing more, nothing less. A weapon that could fall into the wrong hands and be used to it's fullest potential without any safe key or plan b were things to go horribly wrong. It was a one way ticket...and he couldn't even phantom the possibility of Yevgeni or Midnea gaining access to this. "It must be a Fey do to its origins, correct?" He asked, his eyes glancing around the room. "Then...I can say it's obvious which two candidates are in line to possess it should they succeed the upcoming trials." Helios spoke, glancing up at the leaders. "Lord Raiden, and his majesty, King Jynn. Both sovereigns of their own right. I may be getting ahead of myself, as we will enter Isopolis blind to the trials that we will be facing but...I believe it's the right choice for one of them to take upon the burden of this weapon...unless they believe otherwise." Helios spoke, his tone low as he kept his head bowed his eyes staring down at the map. To have sneaked into Isopolis all of those years ago was merely scratching the dusty surface of the significance of such ruins...it was now or never. "I support either candidate, or whoever they deem responsible enough to wield it. Though there is always that question of what shall happen the user once they ascend, isn't there?" He asked, a small frown on his lips. No power simply came to one freely. Something had to be exchanged in return. Even after passing sch trials, he couldn't help but to have that one small thought in the back of his head, constantly asking what if. He glanced up at the group again. "Regardless I am ready to provide my assistance the moment you call for it. I am behind you, Lord Raiden, King Jynn...and King Alderon." Helios spoke, this time with his head high, a spark in his eyes that screamed of determination. For the irony was still there, the fact that it would end in the one place where it all began; Isopolis. - Arthur - Mystras - /w Mariel & Everyth - Helping the refugees - Arthur listened, looking back down at the fruits. "Sorrow can't be helped. It's normal to feel it. Without it we wouldn't be able to empathize nor feel other emotions. It's with sorrow that we realize that we love someone so much that we mourn them. It's with love that we realize how happy something makes us...however instead of drowning, fighting against it...let's go with its current and use it to our advantage." He sighed, forcing a smile. "Mistakes happen. We have a saying, to er is human. But I believe that can be applied to Feyhood as well...no one is perfect. But in our imperfections we strive forward." Arthur spoke, bowing his head towards Mariel. "So, I thank you for trying, milady. For caring for the lives of us humans as well." He said, gazing at Mariel with tired, but kind eyes. The pain was still there. It wasn't ever going to leave him...but he would live with in rather than allow it to drag him down.
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 21, 2018 Jynn, Bherna, and Dawson-Raiden's Villa Jynn was a bit upset to hear that Baxter was gone. Slain by an unknown assassin. He may not have been keen on following Jynn's specific orders, but he was still loyal nonetheless. But Jynn's thoughts were interrupted by Alastor's sudden appearance. The latter took a glance at Jynn and his friends, with Alicia taking a long glance back. He then speaks, saying that this mission to Isopolis should begin as soon as possible, to which Jynn agrees. Suddenly, someone else jumped into the meeting behind Alastor. "You jackasses ain't gonna forget me are ye?" It was Dawson. He seemed to have caught wind on the conversation as well. "Jynn adds a concerned remark. "I dunno Dawson, that depends. Are you going to keep yourself under control? Less bombs, more clobbering?" Dawson immediately places a paw on his chest. "Fine. You have my word." He seemed honest with his statement. But Dawson quickly became unease after hearing Soren explaining the dangers and the Trials. Helios expresses that he supports Raiden or Jynn being the ones who can take the burdens of wielding the weapon. But, he still has many questions. Jynn turns and places his hand on his chin. A weapon? It must be something powerful. I definitely cannot let it fall in the hands of Yevgeni or this 'Midnea'. "Well, I think right now, we should head out, We are closer to Isopolis than anyone at Kilkes Seres is, so we cannot waste time and let this chance slip by." He glances back at Alicia, who still seemed upset about Baxter. Jynn took it upon himself to try and comfort her. He places his hands on her shoulders. "Hey. I understand. Don't feel the need to be harsh on yourself."
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 21, 2018 (edited) - Maxis - The Mad Dancer/Slugger/Thug - Battle of Two brothers - Kilkis Seres - "Lets the music on!" Maxis visibly twiched for a bit before moving his body as it preparing himself for something as Meksis did his attack, unopposed by his aura Maxis only did a slow walk forward as his brother did his move, Maxis simply raised his finger and seemingly played along a nonexistent beat in his head as...his aura seemingly began to change color? from the usual dark shadow it became...pink? bright pink to be exact, what was this?! as Meksis did his charge feint and threw his Shield, which Maxis simply did a short sprint towards it and slid under with his body arching back, narrowly avoiding the light charge shield, and in this position he could Meksis flying over him and throwing his spear towards him. Maxis quickly spun around onto a standing position as a bat materialized in his hand, and his aura turned yellow! "Homerun!" Maxis spoke as the bat was supercharged with shadow energy as he slammed the bat into the spear as it nearly hit the ground in front of him, like a pro-baseball player, the spear got sent flying away, but it did spill blow up a bit in front of Maxis, but the damage was minimized from the bat's dark energy nullifying the light, it was a sight to see the spear fly into the sky and explode in a fiery display of light. "How'd you know I wanted to play ball?" Maxis taunted his brother. As he suddenly vanished again, and reappeared right in front of Meksis, trails of madness followed his dash, but they were all colored yellow as well. The change in auras was to no doubt confuse Meksis, As Maxis began with a flury of attack at his brother with the bat, two horizontal swipes, and one diagonal which he quickly followed along in momentum to swing the bat around him like a nunchaku at Meksis, before having the bat vanish mid way through the act as his aura changed again, but to a blue color. In the blue aura from Maxis threw out a series of lightning fast punches and leg sweeps towards his brother, all aimed at knocking him around and onto the ground if possible. At the end of his flurry he went for a straight punch towards Meksis's right cheek, however he intentionaly missed it and let himself fall with the momentum, it was then Meksis would also see his aura changing again to Pink, once again as he began used the momentum and flexibility to spun his legs onto Meksis's, if Meksis wans't ready he'd get smacked around by a now breakdancing Maxis, who would end with him using his hands to propel himself a bit higher to deliver a devastating kick using the momentum of the spin to throw Meksis back like a ragdoll if it landed. At the end of the attack Maxis would fall onto the ground and simply strike a pose upside down with with pink aura now flaring. Striking a laugh as well as he soon spun into a standing position and extended his arms again. "Surely you haven't forgotten of my fighting styles?" Maxis asked his brother. (Most of my character are waiting for other's to reply, so here's just Maxis for the moment.) Edited May 21, 2018 by Scrapmaster
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted May 24, 2018 --King Alderon -- Mystras: Preparing for the Final Battle-- The human king stroked his beard while Soren spoke, contemplating what sort of challenges awaited them in Isopolis. If what the former Sentinel of Isopolis said was true, then much was at stake in retrieving this Source of All Life. They didn't pass any trials upon exiting Isopolis during their arrival into the Overworld, but perhaps it was within different chambers of Isopolis that this threat lived. Much mystery shrouded the shrine, after all, and anything was possible when it came to magic. Despite the risks, Alderon was determined to venture into the heart of Isopolis, for he felt any amount of risk was worth the gain of his revived world and daughter. "I am with you," he informed Soren with a nod, before turning to leave the study. "Raiden--" He turned to glance at the ruler of Mystras over his shoulder, gray eyes softened. "We may have our differences, but we are much alike, you and I. We hold close to our hearts that of which we find precious, and will stop at nothing to attain our dreams. We are not defeated yet, so let us not throw in the towel just yet. Fight this final battle with me, Friend. Let us see our dream of unity come to fruition after all." With that, Alderon left the study, his cloak of Mystran blue trailing behind him. --Elia Cabret and Yevgeni Malachite -- Kilkis Seres Foyer-- A satisfied smile crossed the young fairy's face, turning to Henry with smugness. She entered the palace at the dreadnaught's side, neither speaking a word. The palace was very much as Elia remembered it, on that fateful day when their adventure first began. The marble floors were no longer frozen, however, so that difference was significant. The same stained glass windows remained intact, depicting histories long past, while the spiral staircase hugged the outer wall and lead to the upper floors of the palace. The foyer was magnificent, and it was there that they met with the regent himself, having been summoned by Nergal's cry. "My apologies, good sir," the elf murmured to the Queenslayer. "I was seeing to a matter concerning the young human king. What can I do for you?" He then caught sight of Elia and Henry, causing him to draw in a sharp breath. "I see . . . . So these are the visitors that you brought me." It was a statement, not a question, to which Yev pursued with: "So, if it isn't my sweet fairy admirer and this so-called human Dreadnaught"--he turned to Henry and offered his gloved hand--"we meet again. It is good to see you under better circumstances. Might I get you anything? Tea, coffee, wine?" He turned to face a set of doors, clasping his hands together charismatically. "But how rude of me; allow me to offer you a seat, where we can discuss whatever business you brought me." The blond elf led them away, and as they followed Elia hissed in Henry's ear: "I hope you have a good reason for wanting to see him." The disdain that Elia carried for the regent seemed misplaced by many, though within her heart she still blamed Yevgeni for the death of her sister. It seemed that Yev potentially felt responsible as well, for why else would he give Elia such high regard and proffer her special treatment at every turn? --Everyth Castanova and King Alderon -- Mystras: Raiden's Villa-- "I do not think any of us could've predicted what happened down there." Everyth wasn't the type for self-pity or to comfort those in need, yet she found herself fulfilling the role more times than she could count at present. "You did what you thought was right, as did we all. No one foresaw the death of the queen, or the corrupted takeover that led to the death of billions. What more do you really suppose you could've done?" It took all of the raven-haired woman's willpower not to break down whilst discussing the loss of their world. It was doubtlessly hard on them all, and yet it struck the hearts of the humans the hardest. It was their mother planet. It was home, and no amount of pretending or integration could ever replace it, regardless of how pleasant the Overworld may be. Down the hall she heard a door slam shut, followed by heavy footfalls shortly thereafter. Everyth glanced over to find their king walking past, which instigated the sorceress to sweep down into a curtsy upon the cold stone floor. "Your Highness--" she started, but was interrupted as Alderon rose a hand. "Please, not now," Alderon interjected, glancing between Everyth and Arthur with a look of weariness. "We have important matters to see to. It will be dangerous, but if you desire to serve your country, now is the time to do it. Prepare yourselves to join me once more. We might've just found a way to restore what has been lost." At this Everyth's gaze danced from the floor and to the wrinkled face of her lord. "Restore?" she repeated. "Is what you say true, milord?" The king was silent, turning his gaze to Arthur. Taking in a deep breath, he recounted the tale that Soren shared, finally explaining his stance and determination to set forth. "Well, count me in," said Everyth, rising from the ground at last, as though forgetting that she had been there all this time. "If I can save the princess and our world, I will gladly lay down my life if I must." 2 Stardustblade358 and Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 24, 2018 - Arthur - Mystras - /w Mariel, Everyth & King Alderon - Helping the refugees - Arthur perked his head up at the sight of the king. He quickly settled the basket to the side, taking a step forward to greet him. Yet, the king was not in any mood for greetings or reports. The weariness in his eyes surging an ache in Arthur's chest. Before he could speak up, maybe offer condolences, however, the king spoke first. He explained of the situation, and the possibility of bringing home back to them. Arthur's jaw dropped, his eyes wide as he took a step forward. They could bring them back? All of them? Their families, their people, their world-it was possible?! "(Athena.)" He thought, moving his hands to his chest. He was quick to make his decision, no second thought or consideration required. He straightened his back, placing a fist across his chest as he faced his king. "Count me in as well, your majesty." He spoke, determination in his eyes as he smiled a bit. "I serve my king and my kingdom, and I have long decided that I would follow you since the moment I was knighted into your service. Right now is no different." He paused, pursing his lips before continuing. "Consider my life to your service as it has always been. If we can save home...then I'll lay my life down as well, my king." Vaude 536 Posted May 25, 2018 - Rufus Contralto, Mystras with Rabiyu and Aura - Rufus listened in with more and more curiosity throughout the conversations that enveloped him, from the dialogue about the genie wish to that of this mysterious Source of All Life to further dialogue about a genie wish. It seemed as if much was going on within the course of a short time, and while he was blind within the all-encompassing lava lamp he felt as if he could see them purely through their voice, as if knowing some people had given him a better understanding of judging what they may have looked like. He did not like at all what he pictured a few people to be, Raiden having a wrinkled big nose and Alderon almost obcenely rotund in every feature imaginable, like a sentient bologna, but he had to remind himself that that is all in the mind's eye. Withdrawing from the lamp upon the summons of his mistress, he erupted forth from the cap and stretched out wide. Loads of molten wax came out with him and fell to the ground, but they disappeared within it. The globules of fake lava was just as ethereal as he was, it seemed, though he paid no nevermind towards it. "You beckoned, milady? Am I to understand you wanted a wish from moi, the illustrious sole resident of Lampland?" he voiced beautifully, puffing out his pathetically skinny chest in great pride. In all honesty, he was proud. Rabiyu's wish would mean someone else's happiness than just his own, if it were to be successful, and that would have brought a tear to his eye had he not been drifting in water originally. He waited patiently, a wide smile on his face. - Lord Raiden, within his residence in Mystras with lots of folks - Raiden listened carefully to everyone within earshot, obtaining a great number of yeas from within the audience, including the obscure acceptance of Alastor who listened in from the opposite side of the door and stepped inside the room. Much insight and cleverness was provided by the audience as well, by which Raiden had to be impressed. This group was well-traveled and well-versed, especially with Soren's provided knowledge, and he had to agree with a great many people. "If Yevgeni is indeed in full knowledge of this information, and the reason for the mess of the world below's destruction, we must head out at all speed, after a moment to collect everyone who may be willing to join us. The more people there are, the better our chances of entering Isopolis with a wider pool of experience, though . . . this trial situation leaves me worried. Once we make our way through, the trials may prove to best a great number of us, and I would rather not lose anyone to imprisonment or death. "Regardless," he continued with a heavy sigh and a small smile, "through our combined efforts we will prevail. Wrongs will be righted once we reestablish the world below to its prior glory, and this final battle, as the good king had mentioned, will be fought in recognition of the unity of two peoples." He rose to full height, feeling renewed vigor coursing through him. "Prepare for the trek. Whether by travel or by wishing thanks to Rabiyu's djinni, the road before us will prove tiring." - Jari Coriander, within Mystras and post-celebration - A fair amount of time spent with people he knew had passed, and Jari, after receiving many pats on the back and farewells from his extensive family, left the Burrow through a hidden passage leading to the sewers and out of a manhole. He could not fit through the normal entrance and opted for the next best fit. The stench was not as strong as it previously seemed to be, even if it was still overwhelming. Was this due to his newfound ascendance into being a kitsune, or was it that his nose grew duller since his youth when he last frequented this passage? He did not know, but he was relieved all the same. Entering the open air, he felt the need to leave the city, start fresh. Had he not had prior arrangements and people to protect, he would have tried hitting the road and doing more adventuring, exploring his newfound abilities and seeking out lively action. All that dwarfed in comparison to protection, however. Kouroo, Hesil, Elia, Shirou, Aqua, and many others -- he wanted to defend them all and ensure their happiness. If he could do that, he could die happy. The thought resonated deep within him, a tremendous difference from the mere heartpatters within his cowardly foxchild self. It was as if he were reborn. With that kind of attitude, Jari stepped forth from the Mystran gates, feeling ready to tackle any obstacle, even if it meant entering another war.
