Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 4, 2018 (edited) Helios listened to Aura, smiling at her touch and kisses. He gently leaned in, landing a kiss on her forehead as he held her hands. "No one is perfect, Aura. There is no road paved to happiness. So...let's make our own." Helios smiled, genuinely happy and grateful. He had never met someone who had made his heart flutter the way Aura did. That made him want to return, to look forward to. Despite being two species, two worlds, hundreds of years apart...he wanted to give her as many of his lifetimes as he could. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZVYZKcI8lQ - Arthur & Helios - Mystras - The Terrible News - When the news hit, there were no words for the reaction given. The army of men and women of the human world collapsed with all kinds of reactions. Grief, anger, despair. Many screamed in utter agony, their hearts shattered beyond repair as others screamed in anger. Tears were shed. They were lost. Their world, their families, their loved ones, everyone and everything who they had been fighting for, was gone. Just like that, the war was easily over. Yet along with sadness, depravity kicked in, anger rising. Someone, something had to be responsible, and they wanted answers. Was it because the barrier had been absorbing from the world for too long? Was it something that Kilkis Seres had done? Maybe it was no one's fault. But something had to be done. Arthur didn't even know how to react. The silent shock settled in for a while before he suddenly screamed as loud as his lungs would allow him, lightning following his outburst violently. He screamed and screamed for hours until his throat went raw, tears rolling down his cheeks, holding his chest as if he had been shot, the wild lightning circling around him like a protective instinct. This went on for hours, the knight isolating himself back into the forest nearby for the safety of those around him until he passed out. Even when he awoke again the tears only resumed, and so did the lightning, the once proud knight curling up against the floor as he held his head. Mother, sister, Visco- all gone, in a matter of seconds. His dream of returning home would remain at that; a mere dream. He would never return home. He would never get to eat his mother's cinnamon bread, or receive her kisses. He would never get to play with his sister or hear her laughter. He would never get to tell Visco how much he loved her, nor present her with the flowers he had gotten for her. He had never felt a pain this great, not emotional, not physical. Everything he cared for was gone, and as far as he was concerned, so was he. He held onto Visco's letter, his hands shaking as he was afraid to hold. The war for their world had ended, and they had lost. Helios took it just as bad. He tried to remain strong, yet his facade was easily broken down. His scream of horror pierced among the rest. It was gone. All of it. The world, its people, its animals, its culture. Gone. Like the wind. He only allowed himself to mourn for a moment, before forcing himself to swallow his sorrow as his mind went directly to Aura and Henry, reaching Aura first. He didn't even ask, his arms wrapping around Aura into a hug, offering any form of comfort he could. Everything had been turned on its head, and now the future was unknown, the single question hanging over everyone's head; what now? "I'm so sorry...Aura..." Vaude 536 Posted May 5, 2018 - Lord Raiden, the Infiltrator, and Nihil, in their villa near Mystras -The lord of Mystras locked himself away in his study and away from the clamour of the chaos outside, brooding over the maps born from many years of study of both the past and the present. From the oldest of maps, sealed in clear parchment and secured by simple but effective magics, to the youngest still-white sheets that he continued to work on, they revealed many landscapes he could only think of but never had the ability to visit. The northern continent remained a mystery beyond paper, and much of this continent lay untouched by his boot. Teshub's boot has stretched over every stone at least three times, he reckoned, and he envied the freedom that the Infiltrator had taken for granted. The dreams of grandeur, of ruling a balanced community of hard-working and honest souls, was all but realised, and yet his ambition for more ended up laying waste to almost everything. Shiva, once alive and well even if distant, was dead. Mystras now was inhabited by a number of human migrants as well as a smaller population of fae. The world below was decimated, its fragments either drifting or culminating back to its centre of gravity, but with a destroyed populace. It all could have been averted if he had not created the events that led to the destruction of the barrier and his beloved. It could have been averted, as well, if he were stronger, if he was his full self.Raiden slammed his hand on the desk he was sitting at and tossed his maps with a frustrated toss of his hand. The papers fell to the ground in a disappointing series of splashed manuscripts. He should not think of such things. He should not even imagine trying to become him.Odin was a relic of the past. He need not emerge again, after those seven hundred years since he last surfaced. Teshub and he were enough. They were enough."Frustrated, are we, brother?" the Infiltrator called out from the secret entrance in his study, the hidden panel opening to reveal his smirking, twinned face. Another face appeared behind him, the shadow with whom he was too familiar. Nihil enjoyed misery and seemed to grow stronger from it, the corruptive illusion magic adumbrating the darkness of the room and making it dance."How long were you watching me, Teshub?" Raiden called out in irritation."Long enough to know what is going on behind that skintight mask of yours, 'Raiden,' and it is time to renounce both of our names in favour of the real one. They are mirrors, fac similes, but together? Together we can be real once again, and not the imposters we once intended to be those seven hundred years ago.""Even if we once imposted the original, we are better than him. He lost himself many times, and we were the breakthrough. Together but separate, we found his true self, the core before his tampering with things he should not have touched, such as the Well of Wisdom. No other time has he wrought pieces from himself that lasted for more than a decade before fusing. Our separation proves something of value.""You preach as if you knew what you were talking about. There is no finding his true self unless we reunite. Our brethren, all of the other shards before us, knew this. You merely forgot over time where I have not.""Interesting," whispered the inhuman shade, so subtle it was difficult to decipher from movement outside of the door.Raiden's heckles were raised by Teshub's comment, and he rose to his feet with a swift movement that shook the chair from its legs. The object toppled to the floor with a resounding smack."It is you that forget, not I," he spat. "Our brethren were incomplete, partial. Out of the ashes of the many failures of the past, we arose as whole beings from a whole being, an impossibility brought to life.""Us? Whole?" sneered Teshub, shaking his head and chuckling. He pointed at Raiden's chest with a long finger. "Look deep within yourself and face the music. In time, you will know I am right, but just to speed up the process I will give you a nudge in the right direction. It involves Shiva."Raiden stiffened, biting down on his cheek until it drew blood. His hands balled into fists tighter than ever before."What about her?""While your love may have been genuine, it was given up. Odin was so distraught, so frustrated, that he in the end rejected her, and in time you will have to as well. Look at yourself, wasting away, pining for your lost queen consort. You were in the same boat as he once was, before he made the fateful decision that saved him. I only hope you will see reason before you die from self-negligence, and when you do . . . seek me out. You will know how to find me, part of Odin." The Infiltrator, along with Nihil on his shoulder, stepped back into the gloom of the hidden entrance and reset the panel into the wall. Like that, everything was as it once was, and the shadows returned to normality. Raiden swallowed his rage alongside his fear. Has Nihil found his way past his trained mental defenses, or was Teshub getting to him in ways only Teshub can? Regardless, a powerful point was brought up: when faced with that grave decision he would have to face a choice, one which will shape him into either of two things. He closed his eyes, reset his chair, and sat down upon it. Assistance from allies in this area was impossible. Hope was all he had left to depend upon, and right now he hoped he would make the right choice. - Raleigh Marin, seeking out Curvis - Raleigh took the destruction of the world below with difficulty, a strange phenomenon to someone who held such little love for the world she was raised within. She never felt at home anywhere at the time, but now it felt as if the world itself were her home, a home stripped from her by a malevolent and otherworldly force. Raleigh felt flushed with a brewing anger that did not seem to die down, no matter how many arrows she notched and let loose with a musical twang of her bow. Target practice became a method of relieving tension. It felt comfortable after the weeks of reintegrating it into her life, as if a piece of her were restored through the action. She became quite excellent with the bow after she healed from her wounds, the healers spending some extra time with her and assisting with the reparations of old wounds. The injury she received years ago to the tendon in her right arm was now entirely a thing of the past. Her once barely bleared vision was now fixed and corrected to the eagle eyes she once had. Physically, she felt good. No, she felt great. Every muscle sang with a new vibrancy, even through the darkness of her homeless scenario. After the thirtieth volley of practice arrows in the small clearing she housed herself in, she decided to call it a day and seek out Curvis. She did not know what that would solve, but his being around felt comforting. With luck, finding him would give her some sort of peace of mind, or with greater luck she could give him some peace of mind. He still had family on the world of their birth. If she could help him, maybe she could repair the situation between them. Maybe. - Rufus Contralto, in his lamp by Rabiyu's side - Rufus listened in on the conversations around him for some time, refusing to leave his lamp for much longer than an hour. With the whole destruction-of-the-world thing, he felt out of sorts and unwilling to communicate as well (or really as poorly) as he once did, and unwilling to make any sort of wish for himself. It was nearing that decided time where Rabiyu had to make a wish, and he hoped she would make one so he did not have to. ((I will make something for Jari later. I feel rather drained at the moment and unable to think of much for him.)) 2 Nero Kunivas and Mystics Apprentice reacted to this
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted May 5, 2018 - Soren Monroe, Servant of Shiva's Will - Present Day, Immediately after the World Below's Destruction - Today...the unthinkable has happened. Today, the universe mourns the senseless loss of a world, filled with life, marked by history and shaped by its people. Today brings an end to any prospect of unity, prosperity or even reasonable thinking. Today, the Human World was just destroyed, its circumstances desperately pictured as natural and unpreventable, but the keen-eyed would notice arcane devilry when they saw it. Whatever the case, an enraged Soren Monroe could only watch as the World Below was torn apart at the seams, all of Soren's dreams were burned into the same dust that encompasses where the World Below once stood. The scheming fool of an Elf had done it. Yevgeni enacted his plan to play God...and seemingly was going to get away with it. "Not on my watch..." So said Soren, as he departed the Kilkis Seres War Camp one last time, fully armoured up by his old friend Harrison and upon Meksis's Steed: Ella, as he rode to Mystras with the intent to keep his promise to Lord Raiden. Shortly before that, Soren had sworn his life to King Jynn Venas as well, in honour of Queen Shiva's memory, refusing to acknowledge Regent Yevgeni's authority and only recognizing Jynn as the one true ruler at this time. It was with a heavy heart that he had to meet with Raiden, not only for his promise, but to inform him of the true enemy here, to tell him about Yevgeni because he knew Raiden would at least listen. No one at Kilkis Seres would hear it, he just knew, traitor or not, such words would fall upon deaf ears. Regardless of what Lord Raiden told him, Soren would regardless plan to find and kill the Queenslayer, to bring justice to Shiva and all those he has wronged...never again would he laugh maniacally over spilled blood, royal or otherwise. He would instead taste his own and be condemned to a fate worse than even that Soren would wish upon his father. Even if it was the last act of his life. - Mystras, Raiden's Villa - Soren had arrived sooner than he had expected, for Ella was a persistent and mighty horse indeed. Dismounting, Soren then approached the door to said Villa and by extension the Mystran Guard at the door. "Name please." "Soren Monroe. Mystran Enforcer. I'm here to see Lord Raiden. I've important information for him." "He's locked himself in his study, but I'll let you through, Soren. Just be careful, it's chaotic in there, with all that's happened." "Such tragedy often does that to a populace, Human or Fey..." Soren then cleared his throat. "Understood." The door was unlocked and Soren stepped into the Villa, making his way to Raiden's Study, through the crowds of Humanity and Feykind alike, his armour and imposing figure were enough for a significant amount of people there to step aside, but others were too engrossed in chatter, grieving and other such hysteria, requiring his polite pushing through. The Lord of Mystras was sure to be just as, if not more distraught, but time was wasting as he approached the door to Raiden's Study and knocked three times, hard, before shouting over the crowds so Raiden could here. "Lord Raiden! It's me, Soren! I've important information for you, might I come in?!" Soren bellowed, then waited for a response impatiently. - Meksis, the United, Armour of Twilight - Present Day, Immediately after the World Below's Destruction - The loss of the Human World sent ripples through the universe and Meksis's spirit, such a disturbing amount of life...wasted. And Meksis was sure he wasn't alone in suspecting a serious case of foul play being afoot here. Both halves of him agreed that things were only going to get more hectic and terrible as time went on, but they knew that they could prevent at least one of them... By now, Maxis would be losing control of the Mad God inside of him, who would eventually assume direct control and wreak havoc upon all of creation, simply because the foul deity wanted to. With his increased power and the presence of two beings inside of him now, the united Meksis knew he stood a chance against the Mad God this time. He would purify his blood brother of this blight and save the Overworld from at least one terror...the other one, Nergal, would have to wait. Meksis concluded that Maxis would seek answers, so he kept a patrol route around the perimeter of Kilkis Seres and its War Camp, a Spirit Search Spell from his Tome was active, which would allow him to sense both Maxis and the corrupt Spirit inside of him from a considerable distance away...once he did, he would strike, regardless of Maxis's condition. - Nergal, the Queenslayer - Present Day, Immediately after the World Below's Destruction - The Queenslayer lurked in the shadows, waiting for Yevgeni to finish his duties and be alone for him to discuss their future plans. It had finally been done...the runes set by Midnea, the Punishers, particularly the ones he himself left behind in his free time, were a success. The World Below was utterly devastated and torn to shreds, though the people certainly didn't die slow, that was for sure. Nergal could only look at the humans around with a scowl beneath his mask...perhaps they would prove useful in time, but he could sense hostility. "This is sure to not be a smooth transition...but we must act now. The Source of All Life is within our grasp...oh, my dear Yevgeni, I hope you retain your loyalty to me, as I have to you. Together, we can achieve so much...I would hate to lose you..." Nergal's demented thoughts concluded as he approached the Palace, dressed fully as a Kilkis Messenger, complete with a simple, obscuring grey cloak and the Emblem of Kilkis Seres upon his person, all claimed from one he had murdered earlier and disposed of quietly, simply gesturing to the Infantrymen who had repositioned before he arrived, who allowed him in without question, his presence not as concerning as that of Midnea, who was within the throne room with the Regent. This Dark Witch was an especially delightful partner in crime during the planting of Arcane Runes, that had to be said. He waltzed past her, right to Yevgeni and simply gestured, signalling his desire to come closer with a whispered message. Regardless of what Yevgeni did, he would still approach and leaned to Yevgeni's ear. "Midnea's plan went off without issue, as I'm sure you've heard. Now, to our own, yes? My Regent, we must proceed quickly but with caution. Everything is in chaos right now and there are people who seek The Queenslayer, so we are short on time, my friend...Yevgeni, where can we find the Source of All Life...what does it do?" Nergal whispered insistently, but still calmly, seeking to comfort the distressed Yevgeni, even putting a hand upon his shoulder, Nergal's aura would do the rest as it naturally did without any intervention on his part. Elrandir 783 Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) - Aura - City of Mystras -The news had hit the city of Mystras, and to Aura, who could only stand still, processing what just had happened. The world below, her world, her home, was completely gone. It was strange to see more humans in Mystras now. Survivors brought into the Overworld while the rest perished in ways to horrible for Aura to imagine. She came to think about her old home, their farm, the place were Aulea, her mother, was resting, it was gone too, and it hurt so much to think that there was no place to return to talk with her mother. Her brother's body had been sent to the north if what Sifrei said was true, and there was no reason not to trust him, but what about her mother's? "...Yeah..." Aura replied quietly before hugging Helios back, leaning her forehead on his shoulder to hide the tears that were running down her cheeks. "I am too, Helios. I am too."- Rabiyu and Sifrei - Walking towards Raiden's Villa -Both judges remained silent on their way back to Raiden's villa. One wondering what the next course of action would be, while the other wondering what it would take to accommodate the human immigrants."Well, that meeting could have gone better if you ask me," Sifrei said, "But you shouldn't listen to Raishan. You know how she is. Always trying to get you to react.""I agree, but she was right, for once. The Dark Witch is gone and I feel it's my fault. She managed to avoid my sight, somehow, it shouldn't be possible, but she did," Rabiyu replied, a faint hint of anger in her voice, "The land below is also gone, taking with it most of humanity. I do wonder if this was part of Kilkis Seres's Regent's plan.""Yevgeni?" Sifrei asked."Blaming yourself won't solve anything, Sapling. Instead, you should focus on what can be done now," a familiar voice said, "Be grateful that even a small part of humanity is here."Both Rabiyu and Sifrei turned around at the sound of the voice of Mielinare, the Fire Nymph, who was currently holding the hands of two human children. Sifrei was the most surprised of the two since it would take days of travel to arrive at Mystras. Rabiyu was just surprised that she was there."I failed in my duty, and I can stop wondering if the Dark Witch's disappearence and the destruction of the world below is connected," Rabiyu said, "Perhaps if...if I used the help of my friend Rufus's power, a wish to save and restore the land below, bring those who are still alive here. Perhaps Lord Raiden, or I-""There are limits to what the wish granting magiks of a djinni can do, Sapling. The land would be torn apart once more in time, why bring it back now when it would be destroyed again," Mielinare said, her face was without her usual porcelain mask, and as calm as a still lake, "I am sure a time will come when that wish will prove useful, maybe not to you, but perhaps someone else.""Why are you here Mielinare? I thought you were in the Imperial City, or the City of Water. When did you-" Sifrei said nervously."I came to see how the two of you were doing, and to inform you that we managed to save a few thousand survivors who are currently scattered around the north," Mielinare said, "The Regent of Kilkis Seres is not the only one who is allowed to bring back survivors to the Overworld."Those were not the best news, but still good news nonetheless. There were more survivors on the north, that had to mean something, at least. That's what both Rabiyu and Sifrei felt at the moment."It is best to remain together in these dark times, Sapling. Do not doubt yourselves now, after coming so long. Believe that there is a reason to all of this, that there is a way to stop this from going further. Answers are within your grasps, you just need to reach out and take them." The Fire Nymph said, "I will take my leave now. These children need to find their mother among the survivors, and I offered my help. Keep your spirits up, children, give hope to those who are in need of it, give these humans the chance to rebuilt their lives once more, this is the time when fae and humans must stand together, unless both wish to face extinction."Mielinare smiled at the two children and both of them nodded slowly before holding Mielinare's hands tighter.. She gave the two judges a final look along with a gentle smile before turning around and walking away towards the city in search for the children's mother. That was tipical Mielinare behavior, taking her leave while leaving more question than answers, this, Sifrei knew, and Rabiyu knew to a far greater extent. After watching the Fire Nymph blend into the crowd both of them reasumed their way towards Raiden's villa. Rabiyu was sure that the Lord of the city would need some support after such an event. The two of them entered the villa, were now humans resided in, along with the fae servants, and made their way towards Raiden's study, where Soren Monroe waited outside." It is good to see that you are back, Master Monroe. We thought we lost you in battle." Rabiyu said calmly, now returning to her normal behavior, "May we accompany you to listen to this information you have for Lord Raiden. Perhaps it would give us an idea of what our next course of action will be." Edited May 5, 2018 by Elrandir 1 Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted May 5, 2018 The Order - City of Hunter Most of the Icarian people hadn't slept in days. Having taken in as many refugees as possible, many a park and church was full, homes filled with those needed shelter and succor. Healers had been flown in from the Four Angel Cities to assist, with the Dominion leading the charge, led by Dominus Hozinel. The Ithurians alighted and stalked down the street, each carrying on their shoulders deer and game, taking it to the slaughterhouse. They had hunted near and far, being careful to not deplete the wild game nor the farms. Many people would need food, and frantic hunting and slaughtering would only deplete it in a time of crisis. Around the Table sat the Convocation...or what was able. With one dead and the other mourning, Raz, Shar'aia, and Jeremy sat with Xion, who had been inducted following the Demise of the World Below. "We will be good for a while." Shar leaned forward. "I am directing my Valkyries north, to hunt the caribou along the border." Xion lazily raised a hand. "My lieutenants have gone towards the seas, to parley with the Merfolk for fish. If we can form a trade route, we can focus on feeding with that and lighten our hunting parties. The Overworld will have need of the deer and game." "True, Xion." Raz meshed his fingers before him, leaning on his elbows. the Demise weighed heavily on the Archangel, for he had been unable to save as many as he believed. Shar could see it in his eyes, clear as the sun did shine. "We must focus on the now, Prince." She sternly said to her liege. "We have thousands upon this rock, and millions across this world. We must talk with the Regent and further coordinate." "I don't like him." Jeremy finally spoke. "His eyes do not shine as Jynn's own. There is a dullness I see. I see him only as a leader...not as a King." Jeremy stood. "I shall head to Kilkis Sees, and find audience with the Prince. And yes. I will inquire about Eclaire." The Icarus turned, ruffling his wings loose. "Raz. Watch over my city." And he was away, leaving Raz to sigh. "He of course is our superior diplomat-" "Prince Ask'raziel!" Through the door came forth an Icarian, wild and panting. "Part of your Guard has traded words with the humans! The crowd is growing angry and desperate!" Outside Raz alighted down upon the street. A crowd of humans roared anger at a unit of Archangels, whom had one underfoot. "YOU SCUM. YOU MURDERED MY SISTER WHENCE THE BARRIER WAS ERECTED! I HAVE BUT A MIND TO TAKE VENGEANCE!" His sword raised high, eyes aflame. The crowd suddenly panciked, as the Archangel began chanting. "Enough." Raz spoke firmly, clearly, and without remorse. He strode forward as the crowd parted in fear. His station, his authority was clear. "In times of antiquity, did we not serve as stalwart protectors, sentinels against the night? When man and mer were not separate by barrier or by heart, did we angels not choose to be noble? Now today, what are we? We isolate, we wage a war based on ancestral sin. Not sin of the now but of the far dlung past. Before the barrier, before Alexander, before the first Eidolon walked." Now before his guard, he lashed out, grabbing the leader and hauling him off the human. "WE WERE GUARDIANS. We stood as beacons of light! Now what are we? We stared so long at an abyss we wished vanquished we created a disease! We have held hatred for so long the sin breeds in ourselves! How dare you call yourself Archangels and act as such!" He threw the man aside with little effort. "we were meant to protect. To guide. We were once guardians." He knelt, and extended a hand to the human. "Let us return whence we came from. The Light of mercy, compassion. Forgiveness. The light many do not wish to return to...for is vengeance not easier to feed and grow then love?" The man looked up fearfully. Raz did not falter. "We chose to fly at Yevgeni's call. We saved scores of humans, despite your hatred. When time came you chose to be what our Creator deigned. If you truly wanted to hold onto such hate...then why did you take wing?" Icarian guards soon arrived, dispelling the crowd. Raz dismissed his guards at once, as Shar and Xion approached. The man had taken his hand, and was being tended to. "Hatred has festered for time unknown. A single speech will not placate." Raz turned to face his friends. "Hatred will only breed more hatred. To vanquished such a for, one must cultivate and feed the love in ones heart. A single speech needs not slay the beast, but plant the seed of compassion, mercy, and forgiveness." "You're and idealistic son of a bitch." Xion said, crossing her arms. "But. Doesn't mean you're wrong." She turned away. "I have things to do. Tell me if Eclaire is located." RHAEDYN THANE, MAN IF IRON To Mikhail, Earlier: "I accept." Now: Thane had disappeared. To hunt, one must blend. A massive metal man did not blend. As such, he faded away with only a message for Mikhail. I will be watching.
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) Bherna Lao-Mystras Among the many feys and humans in the city, an aged and hooded Bherna sits atop of Melstrome, roaming around the city, unsure of what to do. Many humans were grieving at the loss of their world and loved ones. Some went to the Flowering Hyssop to drink away their pain. But needless to say, nobody was pleased to hear the news. Bherna soon reaches Helios and Aura's location. She couldn't help but listen to their discussion, and she herself drew a few tears. What would father do? Does he have a plan, or is it all over for these innocent humans? She heads over and dismounts Mel. With her hood still up, she tries to sympathize with them. She knows how it feels to lose her home and her family, not only that, she hates seeing others suffer. "I...... I'm gravely sorry about what happened........" Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 6, 2018 (edited) - Henry - Distraught man - Somewhere in the Overworld after the news of the world below's demise had spread - The moment the news came to his ears, Henry forgot entirely about all of his objectives, wherever he was and whoever was with him when he learned of his home world's destruction, he would have sent them away, as he wished to be alone and that he'd go on solo for a while...to better cope with it, after having retrieved the parts of the feyslayer, he had given them to Sifrei or Rabiyu and sent them to Mystras to give the pieces to Raiden, and saying that "he'd take a little longer to come back" for a while, that was the message they had to give the ruler to justify his absense. In truth Henry did not know what to do anymore, he also would have requested for Sifrei and Rabyiu to pass on a message to Aura and Helios. Simply saying 'That he was sorry and that he can't look anyone in the eye for the moment'. Henry soon was alone again, without rest, mourning for at least two days, his emotions bottling up as he stood in an unnamed cliff at its edge. Through rain, cold, sun, he stood there, sitting down, looking straight, his life's memories all coming back to him, as the lingering sense of failure overtook him. He stood still, like a statue for an uncounted ammount of time, completely still. After he couldn't bottle up any more emotion anymore, he let out an ear wrenching, heartbraking and depressing scream in rage, sorrow, regret and shame, as the scream could be heard as an echo in the horizon for others, he kept screaming for a few minutes before beginning to cry, putting his forehead on the ground, as he began to smack his hand against it, each smack cracking the ground further, until the last one shattered the clif nearly in half. 'Everything i've worked for, tried to protect. its gone'. 'It isn't your fault.' 'That doesn't matter...my world is gone, and I have nothing more' 'You have the others to protect...Helios, Aura.' '...' 'You have to press on, otherwise everything you've done will have been truly worthless'. - Henry - Rebel without a cause - Kilkis Seres - A cloaked individual could be seen entering the main city of Kilkis Seres, this cloaked individual was none other than Henry, not wishing to hide himself, only really using the cloak because it proved rather useful for traveling, his expression cold and focused now as he walked the streets of the capital. He noticed humans...alive and well? well wasn't the right word but...they were coping it seemed, however some royal-like and soldier-like with symbols on their clothes he'd recognize anywhere. "Helvadora" Henry muttered, with sheer contempt being the only thing capable of being felt from his tone. He did not draw attention as he passed some, most of which were simply walking around and others who were interacting with either amongst themselves or Feys. Henry's direction? the palace, the sooner he could get there the better, he'd either meet Jynn or Yevgeni within, regardless, he'd seek them out, get some answers, the means didn't matter to him anymore, far as he was concerned, he didn't have anything to lose. Walking right up to the palace doors and, of course, being accosted by two guards who were placed on watch over the gates. He pulled way the hood that covered his head as he looked at them. "Identify yourself and your business at the palace." One of the guards demanded while the other looked and tried to look intimidating. Henry simply looked at him straight in the eye, no sarcasm, no half smile, just a cold, serious stare at the man. "I wish to speak to your regent, or king." Henry answered him as one of the guards laughed, "And what makes you think Regent Yevgeni would see you?" The guard asked, laughing. "Because if you don't go call him now, and tell him he has a rather important guest. I am going to destroy this castle by the day's end." Henry threatened, with pure conviction and seriousness in his voice, unfortunately both the guards took the threat in stride and laughed even more. Before approaching closer to Henry, one of them was a bit taller tham him with a cocky smile on his face. "And what makes you think you'd be able to...huh?" The guard asked Henry, who promptly headbutted him square in the chin with his forehead, nearly dislocating the man's jaw through his helmet, and completely smashing the helmet in as well, as he was flung back to a wall. The other guard was stunned just long enough for Henry to kick him in the stomach, sending him reeling to the ground in pain as he looked ath the one he previously headbutted, and dashed straight at him, delivering a fist into the wall beside him, cracking it with little force needing to be put into the punch. And his free hand ripping the man's helmet off with ease, intimidating the man as Henry quickly grabbed him by the throat and raised him like a sack of potatoes. "What makes you think I won't break your neck and proceed to do the same to your friend there?" Henry retorted, with pure disdain in his voice. As he tightened his hold over the man's throat as the other guard had just gotten up to see the scene. "Now, tell Yevgeni im going in to meet him. I won't ask again." Henry spoke as he threw the man to the side, as both scrambled inside the castle to call Yevgeni about his new guest. 'Thats one way to get their attention...' 'Either that or we're not getting anywhere'. 'True...' - Maxis - The MadType - Kilkis Seres - Morning Stroll - Maxis had recently awakened from his comatose state in that deserted and forgotten alleyway, thanks to his clone that came all the way from Mystras to wake him up and re-join with him, now Maxis was left without much to do other than walk around and wait, or seek Yevgeni out to see if the sniveling bastard had any answers Maxis would be interested in hearing, he knew Yevgeni was suspicious, and the intel from his clone was all the information he needed to act. However he was taking his time going to the palace gates, without much of a care in the world, even though the humans from below were now inhabiting the capital en masse, he didn't really care. IT was regretful that they lost their world, but what could he do?. This would have been the perfect opportunity for Meksis to strike at him, As Maxis wasn't expecting any hostilities at the moment. - Alastor - The Storm - Mystras - Consoling Arthur - While Alastor gave his simpathies for the humans who lost their world so suddenly, Alastor was not one to mope around and not do anything, especially when interesting intel kept coming over from Kilkis Seres, the type of intel that brought a sense of foreboding and conspiracies that he could only guess was the Black Witch's doing, Midnea. Apparently Yevgeni assisted in the evacuation of many humans. Many important and many not so important. The problem was now he had an uncontrolled mourning man to deal with, Arthur, who was curled up in a ball somewhere in the villa, the area of which he pinpointed with ease and was there in a literaly flash of lightning. Seeing Arthur's sorry state, Alastor simply leaned his back against a wall, or tree if he was in a forest. And spoke the following words. "Guess that is one way to cope." Alastor spoke, with actual emotion and...comfort in his tone? almost as if trying to comfort Arthur in the only way he knew how, but he still sounded strict as always. "Come on, say it, anything you want to get off your chest. Do it." Alastor finished, letting the boy speak. Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 6, 2018 - Arthur - Mystras - Mourning - Arthur gasped a bit, looking up to see Alastor there. His eyes were red along with his nose, tears constantly dripping down his cheeks. He looked down at the flowers, only to curl around them once more. He was taught to keep his calm around his superiors, to keep a professional tone...but he couldn't do it. Not this time. "We lost." He whispered, sobbing between words. "We fought, we lost men and women and Fey alike, we came to war to save our world...and it was all for nothing." He spoke, his tone sounding broken. "The only home I've ever known is gone, along with countless of lives, including my mother and sister and...and..." He gritted his teeth. "Visco...!!!" He looked up slowly, staring at Alastor, as if he hoped to find an answer in him. "I am glad of the people that were saved. To save so much from a disaster like that, it's nothing short of a miracle. An entire kingdom and it's people! But..." Arthur felt his throat ache. "I didn't even get to say goodbye..." He whispered, forcing himself to stand. He got the flowers away with a shaky hand, only to stare down at his hands. "We have lost our world, Alastor, and everything and everyone I swore to protect and fight for is gone. Humanity is now an alien species in the only place left, and we still don't know what will happen next. I just..." Arthur gritted his teeth. "I shouldn't be angry...I shouldn't be angry at innocent lives that have been saved, but why them?!" He screamed, his face pressed against his gloves. "It was Sodon who have its life in this war! Who fought for its place in this world! It was our king who came here to try and defend...is that why...they couldn't save home..." He said, looking up. He looked exhausted, more mentally than physically. "I'm being selfish...when I shouldn't be..." He spoke, walking towards Alastor. The look in his eyes simply broken, from inside and out. "Sir Alastor...what does a knight do...when he has no one left to protect...?"
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 6, 2018 Jynn Venas-Raiden's Villa in Mystras Jynn is mentally exhausted after all that has happened. The human world is now gone, forever perhaps. He sits in a small office provided to him by Raiden to keep the young monarch from the mysterious individual that tried to take his life, and in return, Jynn has cleared Raiden's name from Shiva's death. He also had some followers permitted inside. He places his hand on the stubble he has grown. "What now? I was unable to stop Yevgeni from his ridiculous plan, and now, the human world has......... vanished." He looks around the room at his followers. "I have failed all of you......... for now...." He sighs heavily. "I plan to find a solution to this chaos. Does anyone object?"
Vaude 536 Posted May 6, 2018 - Lord Raiden, Mystras, Raiden's villa - The ruler of Mystras glanced up towards the door, startled by Soren's knocking and booming voice before recognising it. There was more too, the calming voice of Rabiyu on the other side. He slowly rose to his feet, feeling exhausted from his verbal debate with Teshub and from the mind-wracking illusions that once swayed within every corner of his study, and advanced to the double doors, pulling them open and neverminding the spread of maps on the silver-oaken floor. "Soren, Hisie, Sifrei, please come on in," he voiced to them, too tired to apply even a smile as he allowed everyone inside and closed the door behind them. While his body had recovered since the stamina-draining battles of the clash against Kilkes Seres, but his mind was still wracked with the pain of those events. "My room is now more bare than before, so I fear you will have to stand. What information of note do you bring for me"--he chuckled dryly as he eyed Soren from head to toe--"and why the great changes you have made to your fashion sense? I favoured the other suit you wore. This one looks . . . darker." - Jari Coriander, visiting his family in Mystras - The air was saturated with heat and the stench of exhalations in the city of Mystras, and while he was against Raiden's rebellion against the crown he was once again welcomed in as a citizen, regardless of his absence of leave in the city's defence. Had they only known that he took up the sword against them, they might have reacted differently to letting him in the city again, but what the guards did not know would not hurt them. Beside that, he was on unofficial business, a normal visitation of family after the absence of such a long time, and with this many people around he felt safe from Alastor's death threat in the Flowering Hyssop Inn about a month ago. Surely Alastor would not find him here in the throng, and certainly not within the Burrow. He travelled down the continually narrow streets until he ran into a dead end, the number of people dwindling through the maze of buildings, and in the corner of the alleyway there was a little door, wooden, circular, and of curious design, outlined with circles of sheet-metal foxes dancing around a bonfire at the very centre of the door. He felt the longing urge to stroke the door and acted upon it, his fingers dancing along the facet of his favourite fox, a seven-tailed ancestor of his named Ayumu, the ageless judge of myths back in the day. It felt like so long since he left home. Unlocking the door was a simple matter. With two levers on either side of the door and a simple raise of both, he popped the tiny door open and it swung open. There was a time delay, however, and he had to be quick before it closed on him. He shapeshifted into his normal form, a small fox, before he slipped into the inky darkness that lay beyond the door. He felt quicker than other times of attempting it, perhaps due to the late month of adventuring, and slipped through with three seconds to spare rather than two or one. The tunnel travelled around a few bends before brilliant light showcased itself on the other end. He reached the Burrow. Kitsunes and foxchildren of many families talked among themselves here, and he knew a grand number of them. Asha, Rummu, Shirou, and Garett were there, all best friends to each other, selling secrets to each other over a bottle of wine wearing their favourite skins and likenesses. Essil, the pretty kitsune lass he had a crush on for the longest time, was making rounds at the local eatery with the sweetest smile on her face. She warmed his heart and his cheeks to see -- beneath the fur he blushed heavily as he watched her -- but the past was the past. Strangely, there was no sign of young Kouroo's being in the Burrow. That was for the best, however. Jari was not ready for meeting him. He quickly realised that he was in fox form still, and he rose to full stature in his favourite skin and likeness as well. However, he had no time for idle chit-chat. He needed to talk with Grandfather Wit, and off Jari went in search of the aged one.
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted May 6, 2018 {Mariel: Mystras; personal quarters} Mariel sat in the room she had been given in her human guise, hugging her knees. She had failed. She had sworn to protect the humans and the world below. Now, only a few of the humans remained and the world below was gone. She waited too long, maybe if she had tried to return to the Overworld the moment she heard the path was open, she could have stopped this. Or maybe she should of stayed in the world below. She could have sensed the magic and done something to stop it. A small part of her recognized that none of this thinking helped any, but that part could get the rest of her to listen. Reaching out, the Guardian Angel picked up a bottle of cheap wine she had gotten and finished it off. It was the fifth bottle she had gone through today. She had seen alcohol's numbing effects in others, but it did little to her kind. Much to her frustration. She threw the bottle away, smashing it on an opposing wall. Mariel's thoughts turned to her returning to the hosts. Whatever punishment they had in store for her, maybe it would mean her mistakes wouldn't cost more lives. Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 9, 2018 Dawson-Mystras The young Palico exits the Flowering Hyssop after having a few drinks. The news kind of affected him in a way too, but he continues to stay loyal to Jynn, unlike most of those who stayed behind with Yevgeni. The city square was filled with homeless humans, suffering from the loss of their world. As he passes by, he notices the sorrow from the humans felt contagious. He wipes any small tears off his eyes. God damn. I haven't felt sorry for anyone this much in............ in a long time. It made him think, what would he do if there was no one for him to serve, people to protect, or his race driven to extinction? As he passes by a few structures, he couldn't help but notice two familiar faces conversing with one another. It was Arthur, the human Dawson dueled with in the battle, and Alastor, the knight who helped him fight the doom hound a few weeks back. Dawson couldn't help but interject in the conversation, as all three are loyal to different people. Arthur asks Alastor what should one do if there is no one left to protect. Dawson quickly interjects. "You know, at times, that is a question that keeps me up at night."
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted May 10, 2018 --King Alderon -- Mystras-- Many emotions coursed through the king's heart upon the destruction of his world, each one presenting itself at different times throughout the day. At times it was anguish, other times resentment. This time it was fury that led him to rap his knuckles against the door to Raiden's study before he barged in without awaiting a response. The king did not appear as the powerful, honor-bound figure that Raiden once knew. In his place was a man who hadn't slept in days, dark circles engraved under hard, sunken eyes. His beard overgrown, his auburn hair greying. Permanent frown marks were embedded along the sides of his face, while his brows were furrowed into a perpetual frown. "Raiden, we need to talk," he said, a hint of urgency in his tone. "What's happened. What's happening"--he choked on his words, leaning into a nearby chair--"it cannot go on like this. Surely you have a plan, do you not?" He barely so much as glanced at the figures around, uncaring that they had been in Raiden's company before he arrived. He was king, gosh darnit. It was time that he took precedence. --Curvis Sourati -- Mystras-- The news hit him like a fatal blow. It seemed surreal that his world was swept away from him in less than half a day, and quite literally at that. Curvis sat in the soft soil outside the practice grounds, stabbing his sword into the earth again and again. Each blow let loose a small amount of his anguish, though his entire body still trembled. How could this have happened? What had he done wrong, and what could he have done differently? He was moments too late in meeting Queen Shiva before her death, but what would her survival have meant? Probably a fair bit, for she likely would never have permitted the utter obliteration of the world below. While this fate was inevitable, did it have to come to this? Ever since he learned of the End he did not feel very much up to eating, or socializing, or any aspect that made him human. Perhaps he would sit rooted to this spot forever, or at least until he wasted away like his world had. All the while he repeatedly asked himself this: was all existence this destructive? --Midnea and Yevgeni Malachite -- Kilkis Seres throne room-- The Queenslayer's presence was not warmly embraced by Midnea, who harrumphed and crossed her arms over her chest. "How rude, whispering like that, as if I were not here!" she scowled. "We were not even through yet." The regent tore his emerald eyes from his accomplice, a silent fury burning within them as they fell upon the dark witch. "Oh, no, we are quite, thank you. You have what it is you sought, now I would like to ask you off the premises. You have no further business here." He waved his hand for emphasis. Clearly his distaste for Midnea ran deep, despite her efforts to aid him. He knew that the woman was only looking out herself, and no amount of make-up and fancy facades would change that. The longer that she resided within Kilkis Seres would only pose greater problems, chiefly among the civilians who knew of the witch and were well aware of her previous transgressions. This made the witch scowl even deeper, lips pursed in a fine line. "Well, no matter. It's not like you're my favorite person anyway." The look on Yevgeni's face made it quite clear that this didn't bother him in the slightest. Instead he turned his back on her, focusing on Nergal whom had whispered in his ear. "Yes, it should be complete," Yev responded, tone low. "We shall depart tonight for Isopolis, you and I. I will explain further on the way." A soft smile played on the elf's lips as Nergal placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. It felt good to have a friend, despite his mistrust in the Queenslayer previously. (Sorry for the short and incomplete posts--I had less time tonight than I previously thought. I will post for Everyth and Elia soon.) 1 Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 10, 2018 (edited) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb8pZ935Oms - Arthur - Mystras - Mourning - /w Alastor & Dawson - Arthur gasped at a familiar voice. He turned, his attention turning to none other than Dawson. "You." He whispered, rather surprised. He hadn't seen the warrior since they clashed against one another in the battlefield. Yet, his words did not bring comfort. If anything, it just surged more emotions inside of him, turning away as he glanced down at the floor. "At least you have a home to fight for." He whispered, his voice rough after his screaming. He frowned. "The Kingdom of Helvadoria and the Kingdom of Sodon are ruled by two different monarchs. If Sodon no longer exists, what will happen to us?" He asked out loud, worry in his tone. They were now pariahs of their own kind. What remained, at least. Serving a king with no kingdom. "And princess Visco is...gone." He hissed, gritting his teeth as he turned to face Alastor, anger mixed with pain in his eyes as he swallowed the lump on his throat. Fresh tears began to fall down his cheeks. "And it's her fault, isn't it?" He asked, his tone almost grave. He took a deep breath, looking away as he turned. "We should've killed her when we had the chance. You knew...everyone KNEW!" Arthur screamed, his attention back at Alastor. "Now our world is GONE! You all knew from the start how dangerous she was and instead you sat back, waiting for the right moment?! How many right moments passed in front of your eyes and you simply thought, 'next time for sure'?! There is no next time for us anymore!" He screamed, his sadness turned to rage, pain and agony in his voice as he screamed, his heart beating ever so fast. In a moment he seemed to loose himself, all etiquette thrown out the window as he stepped forward to Alastor before landing a single punch against his chest. Yet, it wasn't meant to kill or harm, as there wasn't even an attempt of electricity on it. Frustration. That's what it was. Arthur punched Alastor's armor again. "There is no home to fight for anymore! There's no mom to visit or sister to play with! There's no kingdom to serve! THERE'S NOTHING!" He screamed, punching at Alastor, using him as a way to fuel his anger even if it only ended up with him bruising his own knuckles until they turned purple hues. "She took Visco, our home, SHE'S TAKEN EVERYTHING!!!" Arthur screamed, slamming both fists against Alastor's armor one more time as he breathed heavily. He then found himself sliding down, falling onto his knees in front of the knight, before pressing his head against the floor beneath. His body shook as more tears came from his eyes, sobs and cries escaping his throat. The proud knight knelt in defeat and sorrow, his own heart barely able to keep up. "She's taken everything...we've lost..." Edited May 10, 2018 by Stardustblade358
Vaude 536 Posted May 11, 2018 - Lord Raiden, with Soren, Rabiyu, Sifrei, and Alderon - Raiden was perturbed that the knocker of his door came in unannounced and readied a hand to deal with the invader of the solitude of the room, but quickly had second thoughts when he set his eyes on Alderon. His irritation was quenched by the sullenness of the man, the tired restlessness and unkempt appearance that he himself endured for a time. There was much on his mind, and he did not need any type of search magic to be able to discern this. "No, Alderon, it certainly cannot go on in this manner," he answered with tact, shaking his head. "The plan is simple at the moment, to feed and shelter the many migrants to this location and assist in the efforts of protecting the survivors. The farms are bounteous and meat scarce in this land. As long as poaching is denied, this land will help your world's occupants as long as it will take, building settlements and creating infrastructure . . . but you are not talking about that kind of plan, are you?" The lord of Mystras pinched the bridge of his nose, deep in thought, before gazing piercingly into Alderon's eyes. King or no, they both were of elevated birthrights than the common individual. "The main plan is the same, with some extra concerns on the side which hold otherwise equal weight in requirement. Peace will be established with the killer's capture and the World Below's mastermind's death. I will not let this slide, and will give my full dedication to delivering judgement. The anger and frustration is shared by all, though no anger and frustration can be more than those of humankind. You have my promise that things, while profoundly turbulent right now, will settle justly." - Jari Coriander, within the Burrow - Grandfather Wit was a cautious oldster, and he opened up his door upon the seventh rap upon the most ornate door that Jari had ever laid eyes upon. If there was anything that foxchildren cared for more than secrets and wine, it was the art of craftsmanship. The brilliance of the tapestry of metalwork and woodwork was astounding. The two materials wrapped around each other unnaturally but beautifully, and paint accented the design beautifully. The door showed two hundred years of events, which every foxchild in Mystras learned at a young age. Some kitsune, let within the confines of the Burrow through intermarriage and sometimes simply by similar bloodlines, did not harbour much knowledge of these events beyond hearsay, but most knew. "Is that you, young Jari?" Grandfather Wit asked through the crack of the door, suspicion on his furry face. "It is, great grandpapa. I have come to ask for a favour." "What is new? Come in, come in, and don't trip on the rug. It's ancient, older than four of you, if you remember." Jari nodded and padded around the square rug in front of the door, more difficult than not considering its size and closeness with the door. He took a moment of time midway to look over Grandfather Wit. The man was short, shorter than he was by a head, and his face, feet, and hands were that of a fox's, even if the rest of him was more human than not. Coupling the fact that he walked traditionally on all fours, he was mainly viewed as an old geezer, though the knowledge and power gained throughout his century and score of living showed itself through his sagacity as well as his appearance. To have such a level of control on his appearance was seen as mastery to Jari, and he marvelled at his older kinsman. "Have some tea or cucumber water. It's good for you, those things. Can't say what I would have been like if I drink wine like the rest of you youngins, but I guarantee it would have been far worse off than I am now. What can I help you with, sonny?" Jari bit down on his lip, unsure of how to voice what was on his mind and, after some time of coming up with nothing, decided to send the message out without fluff and flowery language. "I want to learn how to be more powerful and courageous, great grandpapa, and was told you could help." "Who told you this?" asked the aged foxchild, amber eyes narrowing in interest, or maybe it was in a condescending manner. Jari had to admit to himself the lunacy of his statement at least partially, but what if it were true? With that in mind, Jari continued. "Hestu, the kitsune warrior who once brought down a tribe of ogres long ago, said that you helped him become who he was. Otthan, another kitsune warrior, said a similar thing, and Mogo, a kitsune mage, said that she learned much about the magics of the land through you. How I learned of this was because I was curious, more curious than most as I asked this over a number of years, but the other piece of information I learned was more surprising." "And what precisely is that?" Grandfather Wit queried. His expression was definitely showing interest now, a smile reaching his face as if he already knew the answer. "Two of them, Otthan and Mogo, said they were foxchildren once, but had kitsune blood in them. I have kitsune blood in me, and I'm guessing Hestu did too. With that said, I want to learn. I want to learn how to be more than what I currently am." Grandfather Wit scoffed, his face immediately showing disapproval. "More than what you currently are? A rubbish answer. Many can say that and mean differently than everyone else. But what the others before you said was true, I s'pose. I did help them, but only because that was their true selves, the kitsune side of them. Your mixed blood doesn't mean you could poof yourself into something new just because you will it into being. It just means that you may." Jari looked at his senior in confusion, understanding lost in translation. Grandfather Wit coughed out a sound of annoyance and went on. "What if you were meant to be a foxchild and not the other side of your mixed blood? Sniveling, craven, full of suspicion and secrets, overflowing with knowledge -- these things are what makes up most of us foxchildren. Can you successfully say that you aren't any of these things or are able to supercede them? Are you willing to sacrifice your lineage for something like bravery, foolhardiness, trust, and withdrawal from all you know?" Jari paused, unsure of what was meant by this and meditated over everything. Grandfather Wit waited for a time patiently, sinking into a fluffy cushioned chair. He had nothing but time on his hands. Five minutes passed by before the younger foxchild opened his mouth to speak. "There are friends I want to protect, people I want to save, but I cannot do anything when I think first of myself. I watched someone I cared about die in front of me, and I was too weak. What can I do with the traits I was born with if I am not able to live beyond them, to cast them off if they become intolerably burdening? I do not want to be a slave to them. I want to break free of them if it means I don't have to stay on the sidelines and do nothing because my instincts say otherwise." Grandfather Wit's expression lit up as he angled himself further in his seat. His vulpine grin was indescribable. "You are just like them, those who were before you. I will teach you." Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted May 11, 2018 - Soren Monroe, Servant of Shiva's Will - Mystras, Raiden's Study - As he awaited Raiden's reply from beyond the door, Soren was approached by Rabiyu and Sifrei, the former greeting him and expressing relief at his presence, something that Soren found oddly comforting as he gave her a quick, but respectful bow. "Good to see you alive and well too, Rabiyu. Regarding Raiden, well--" The former Sentinel was accosted by the door opening to reveal a tired and utterly done in Lord Raiden, who couldn't even muster a smile as he allowed them all entrance. Lord Raiden's study was barren and a bit of a mess, little in the way of seating was available and seemed ransacked if he had to guess, though his thought process ended with Raiden's comments regarding Soren's attire. Rolling his shoulders, Soren allowed himself a small smile. "It's traditional Demonic Armour, wore it in my service days...you could say I was feeling nostalgic." He stated firmly, though he ended casually. Soren then cleared his throat, deciding to get to business. "As to the information, I've--" Soren was then totally silenced by the sudden arrival of King Alderon, one of the rulers of The World Below, looking in just as a sorry state as Raiden, if not worse, demanding to know their next action. Desperation was at the center of Alderon's thoughts and actions, it was clear as day to Soren, keen eye or not. Raiden's plan in response was certainly in the right direction, but Soren could sense it wouldn't be so simple. "I'm sure the Humans will take all the help they can get from us. Rest assured I'll do all I can to aid in relief efforts, your majesty." Soren turned his attention to Alderon, deciding to take off his helmet before he addressed the Human King. Holding his helmet under his arm, Soren itched an eyebrow before remembering he had to tell Raiden something, gesturing before talking. "Regarding the mastermind, Raiden..." Soren became rather solemn as he contemplated on the words and later actions of the Regent of Kilkis Seres, anger was soon brimming to the surface, but he had to stifle it. "I've great reason to believe that the one who orchestrated all of this...is Yevgeni Malachite, Regent of Kilkis Seres." He finally uttered, sighing quietly through his nose. "He and I met shortly after he assumed the position." Soren began, moving to the leftmost part of the room, pondering over the bookcases. "Yevgeni wished to make nice with me, it seemed. After some brief chatter, he offered me dinner at the Cooking Tent of the Kilkis Camp." He continued, looking down for a moment as he realized the impact of Yevgeni's words again, breathing deeply. "It was there I asked him what he had planned next. Just, nonchalantly. At the time, I was interested in what he could do for the World...but then he just, told me." Soren's free hand clenched in barely contained rage, the thought of Yevgeni's plan did more than just not sit well with him, that was certain. "Yevgeni said...that Humans were the problem and that Mystras was a pointless war to fight, though that I agreed with." Soren then shook his head to the side, walking back to the middle. "He then told me that the World Below must be destroyed, first by marching armies to their Leadership and decimating the Human Armies, then by choosing the...th-the..." Soren had to stop for a moment to recollect himself as he recalled the very words spoken that day. "The Pure of Heart, the "good" Humans, to save...and the rest would be left to die when the World Below was destroyed." Soren concluded on what Yevgeni said, though his barely contained fury still loomed. "I told him exactly what I thought of him and departed. I didn't care if he labelled me a traitor for life, I wasn't going to be an accessory to a disgrace of an Elf playing God!" Soren bellowed, then caught his words, holding his throat and closing his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Raiden...I'm just...the Humans don't deserve this." Soren finished, choking back a surge of sadness as he adjusted his armour's collar. - Meksis, the United, Armour of Twilight - Patrol Route, Kilkis Seres - The opportunity had arrived...the time had come and so had Maxis. Meksis sighted his blood brother approaching the Palace Gates, the energies coming off of him were palpable and foul indeed. He knew that he couldn't use the Tome's Words upon him now, the Chaos God's presence needed weakening first. In Shaping Worlds and Nations still rested in Meksis's pocket dimension along with his endless supply of weaponry. Meksis and his Dark Half both poised for the battle that would take place...Maxis held much power, both his own and the Chaotic Deity's, even their own increased power as a result of uniting would struggle. "Are you ready, brother?" "No...but we've no choice, neither can either of us truly be ready for such an undertaking." "Perhaps you are right...but as you say, if we don't...who will?" The Defiled's words rung true as Meksis activated his base Aura of the Chaperone and summoned a regular broadsword, as regular as he elegant weaponry got, then charged Maxis's position with blinding speed, stopping short and going into a walk when he got close enough, immediately channeling Light toward Maxis in order to try and subdue him, with the aid of powerful words: "Nan iChir Chaperone!" If successful, Meksis would waste no time in assailing Maxis with several slashes to his arms and legs, would attempt to block any retaliation and resume stunning Maxis with more intense Light, attempting to blind him overall. - Nergal, the Queenslayer - Kilkis Seres, Palace with Yevgeni - Yevgeni's smile brought genuine joy to Nergal's dark heart, for seeing the elf he held in such high regard as anything but happy or calm did truly hurt Nergal. However, Nergal could say no more to Yevgeni so soon as they, including Midnea, were surprised by the Guardsmen from earlier suddenly entering the Throne Room, rattled and battered by something as they hurried in, shouting. "Regent! Noble Regent, someone is at the Palace Gates! They want to speak with you now!" "They might mean to kill you, sir!" "Someone...?" Nergal inhaled deeply and let his senses do the work for him, analyzing every detail about the presence outside their safety...Henry. It was Henry Hansees, the one Nergal intended to test, he had arrived...and was very, very angry. "Yevgeni, stay here...I'll deal with him. Guardsmen? Protect the Regent!" "Are you sure? Aren't you just a messenger?" "I'm much more than that, esteemed Guard. Trust me...and would you please lend me your spare blade?" The Kilkis Guardsman carried two swords, clearly as a precaution, but didn't hesitate to grant him his wish after hearing Nergal speak, handing him the sword. Clearly, Nergal wished to keep his identity a mystery, or at least a surprise, as he was disguised and using a different weapon. The shrouded Nergal looked back at Yevgeni for a moment, nodding reassuringly, before leaving the Palace to confront Henry Hansees in person. ------------------------- "I'm afraid the Regent isn't seeing anyone right now, stranger!" Nergal would call out in a different voice, putting on one that sounded similar to the Messenger he killed to acquire his attire, the borrowed sword hidden from view beneath his disguise robe. He emerged from the Palace Gates, but kept some distance from the Hybrid, his mask hidden mostly by the hood, but Henry could tell it was a Messenger's Mask. "If you would please turn back now, we would all be grateful."
Elrandir 783 Posted May 11, 2018 - Aura - Mystras - With Helios and Bherna -Aura instinctively stopped hugging Helios and took a step back once she heard a female voice. She quickly wiped her tears away, as she was not comfortable with others seeing her at her most vulnerable, and turned around to see who was talking to them, but she didn't really recognized the woman thanks to the hood covering her face, and the fact that she didn't really knew many in the city."T-Thanks, Miss. It means a lot." Aura replied to Bherna, "Do you have any idea of how many humans managed to make it into the Overworld?"The young woman was curious about that. Just how many had made it into the heavens, and how many had been left to perish in the land below? - Rabiyu and Sifrei - Raiden's Study -Rabiyu took a look at Soren's armor while he was talking to her, it was of nice quality, she would know about that. She gave a slight nod when Soren bowed and was about to speak when Raiden opened the door and let the three enter his study. Rabiyu noticed the sudden change of the room, which was understandable in the current situation. Sifrei on the other hand took notice that Mariel was not there, which was both strange and, somehow, expected. Maybe she was not at Raiden's side if she was helping the humans who arrived in the city. At least, that's what he thought. At this point Rabiyu was not surprised with the entrance of the human king into Raiden's study, not with the current situation. The man looked exhausted, sleep deprived, overgrown beard, nothing like the powerful, noble looking king from before. And then Soren said something that made Rabiyu's mind instantly focus on him, that Yevgeni could be the mastermind behind everything that had happened. Did he meant the Frostbearer's assessination, or the destruction of the land below the Sea of Clouds? Or perhaps both? Sifrei had told her that the fragments of the dagger were found, and that they could detect faint traces that the assassin left behind, then Henry was gone. Perhaps looking for said assassin. The things that Soren was telling seemed strange for Yevgeni to say, he had been a little reserved, and didn't showed many emotions, but so did she, they were similar in that regard. But to learn that Yevgeni wanted to get rid of the land below, to save only those "pure of heart", that was someting that Rabiyu couldn't understand. This, and the fact that Yevgeni wanted the dagger, made Rabiyu wonder what was going through Yevgeni's mind at this exact moment. Was he happy that the world below was gone? that most of humankind had perished? She needed to take her mind of those thoughts, for now, at least."If I may, Your Lordship, Your Highness. While not fully a solution, perhaps this could be of help," Rabiyu said as she took out Rufus's lamp from inside her misty cloak and put it where everyone could see it, "My friend, a djinni by the name of Rufus, could use his wish-granting magic to help gather the necessary resources to help humankind. Food and shalther shouldn't be a problem.""We suppose there are limits as to how much it can be done with such magic. Reviving the dead, for example, would be out of the question, but," Sifrei said while looking at everyone in the room, "we suppose it could prove beneficial to the humans's current situation. I do not think time can be turn back and the land below restored, but like the Judge Magister said, this could be used to ask for resources to help humankind.""There is a catch, though. This information must not leave this room. I was thinking of informing Lord Raiden of such item in my possession in private, some other time, but now? the situation has changed, and something as a lamp of a wish-granting djinni could be an object that others could covet," Rabiyu said calmly, also looking at the ones in the study, "I have means to fully erase the information of your minds, but I trust that both the ruler of Mystras and a King of a human kingdom can make this work, and that you, Master Monroe, can keep this a secret."Sifrei knew that Rabiyu had wanted to wish for the djinni's freedom, she had told him before, but now? they needed all the help they could get. Sure, they would get a wish for each one of them, but how long until someone outside knew about it and wanted to have the lamp, and djinni, for themselves? If they couldn't agree to use the power of the djinni for the good of everyone involved, then Rabiyu's choice to erase such information from their minds would be the best solution. Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 11, 2018 - Helios - Mystras - /w Aura & Bherna - Helios looked up at the young woman, nodding at her condolences. There was something off, however. The scent was familiar. But...he couldn't narrow it down. He frowned, looking down at Aura and then back up at the woman. "The amount of lives that have been lost are irreplaceable...I don't think anyone even thought of such horrible events to be possible." Helios spoke, his tone low as he tried to ignore the woes of the humans. "I've heard that a whole kingdom was saved, but that's all I have on information." Helios hummed, his hands reaching to his necklace. A whole world just...gone. Like nothing. In the snap of a finger. And all he could hope for is that it was fast and painless. He perked his head up, looking up at the young woman. "Is there a way that we can help? We'll be receiving human refugees. If lord Raiden needs help, I'm all ears." Helios spoke, looking up as he took a deep breath, pausing at a thought. "(Oh no...Lord Alderon's daughter...)" He bit his lip. So much happened in such little time. Not to mention that all of these humans would have to be settled and adjust to the fact that they're in a whole other world with all new customs and magic...oh this would be a very very long week. He sighed. "Though, I would have to be careful not to be much of a bother..." He muttered, thinking. "But I think I can convince a few friends on helping out, provide transportation and such...and my shapeshifting abilities can prove useful on other ends." He hummed. Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 12, 2018 - Maxis - The Mad Dog of Shiva - Battle of two brothers - Maxis stopped on his tracks as he heard...no. Felt something weird in the vicinity, a famiiar aura...but he couldn't quite distinguish it...well that was until Meksis flash stepped near him, and seemingly walked towards him for a split second. As Maxis energeticaly turned around to face him and greet his blood brother. "Oh hey Meksis, how ar-NANI?!" Before Maxis could finish his sentence he had been bound by him, with a combination of light and what seemed to be words of power, but to Maxis it was just gibberish. And like that Maxis was bound by runes of light, unable to move or break out, Meksis had wasted no time wailing on him with his sword, as the sword impacted on Maxis, more and more madness began leaking and spilling out, one arm got knocked off and one leg nearly so. But as Meksis stopped his wailing and began to cast more light. Maxis acted. "Alright enough of that." Maxis spoke flexing out of his bindings as the madness weakened them nearly instantly as he dashed at Meksis and grabbed his hand mid cast and stared dead center into his brother's face. Madness leaking from his eye holes as he let out a small chuckle. "Hm, you feel different, I wonder what is it." Maxis commented, friendly as always as his missing arm flew back to its place in an instant as Maxis would then deliver a crushing uppercut aimed at Meksis's gut area, with the intent of knocking him back. Afterwards Maxis would extend both his arms for a second to speak to Meksis. "Well lets see whats so different about you. You know light has no effect on me, for I am the shadow that lurks under it." Maxis spoke to Meksis as he then dashed at blinding speeds towards his brother, but...stopped. This was more of a psych tactic, as a shadow clone would have emerged from behind Meksis and grabbed him by the waist and lifted him up. As the real Maxis would then lunge right at Meksis's face with a madness infused punch, fully intent to hurt the hell out of his brother. "Show what you got MEKSIS!" - Henry - The Hulk - Facing down the masked stranger - "And im afraid Im not giving any firetrucks today." Henry retorted right back to the man with the messenger mask, who had a robe as if to hide himself. This man was strange, Henry couldn't read his aura right away, man must be hiding it, no matter, he had ways to draw people's auras out. Henry took a few slow steps towards the man without breaking eye contact. Henry's eyes now different, one eye was of normal color...the other was dark purple. Much to his opponent's possible surprise. As the man told him to leave Henry simply chuckled. "Can't do that, though I suppose you're here to stop me from moving inside the castle. Cute." Henry spoke to the man, without stopping, Henry was slowly walking towards him, practicaly daring for Nergal to attack or do something. Henry's aura was not rising, at least not yet, As he wasn't exactly in combat yet. - Alastor - The Storm - Consoling Arthur - Alastor's expression during Arthur's outburst was...blank, and serious to say the least, his expression never changed other than a stare towards Arthur, who beat his hands on Alastor's armor incessantly until he bruised his own hands. Alastor felt for the boy, but the boy had ticked a nerve. Alastor lowered to one knee and put his hand on Arthur's head, before pulling the boy's head up by the hair, and using his other hand to grab him by the collar and lift him up with extreme ease. "Yes, yes we knew." Alastor began, "We knew of Midnea, and we couldn't act because of the war, it was the perfect opportunity for her to strike, but knowing her, she didn't destroy the world below intentionaly, she had help, someone who convinced her to assist them in doing so, I know her enough to that she's ambitious and malicious whore and she wouldn't pass up the chance to rule a whole world." Alastor explained Midnea to Arthur. "And now she is somewhere else, probably basking in her own god damn narcissism while you stand here, scream and mope." Alastor tore into Arthur, tightening his grip on the boy's collar. "Your world is gone, everything is lost, yet your friends, army and king move on, they have lost their families and friends, they have lost everything as well, yet they are acting, albeit clearly distraught. But they are doing a thousand times better than you, you damn wimp." Alastor did not cease his critique as he threw Arthur back. "Midnea is out there, in enemy territory, and you want to know the best part? your friend, Alex? has ventured there alone to gather intel. Alone." Alastor spoke, now with pure disgust in his voice. "Your friend is going to die there alone you know, and yet here you are moping and beating on my armor." Alastor spoke, turning his back to Arthur. "Humanity lives on, protect what is left, stop lashing out at nothing and thing straight, the real battle has just begun, one where Midnea is now a major enemy..." Alastor spoke, as he began to walk away. "Prove me wrong and go do something useful with yourself other than cry in the middle of a forest." Alastor's words were harsh, yes. But Alastor's words had a hint of care within them, it wasn't all hateful, Alastor cared for the boy, somewhat. But he wasn't one to console others, it was just his personality. 2 Stardustblade358 and Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 12, 2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtguFyOdj2g - Arthur - Mystras - Moment of Determination - /w Alastor & Dawson - Arthur yelped at the pull, though he didn't expect anything less from a man such as Alastor. He stared at him, listening with sunken eyes. He felt his words echo, his heart aching as he listened. If there was any hatred for Midnea, it had tenfold after this. The words seemed to knock some sense into him, his eyes slowly gaining that light again, his eyes widening at the mention of Alex. "He went alone?!" He yelled, for the first time reacting as he grasped Alastor's hands. "Why didn't he bring anyone with him?!" He yelled, more warm tears escaping his eyes. He felt his head ache, his throat sore as he listened Alastor. He frowned, closing his eyes as he moved them from Alastor's hands to his eyes. "Home..." He whispered. Maybe home wasn't gone. Not fully. The world was gone, his friends, his family, everyone and everything they've ever knew. But he was still alive, still beating, still standing. "(Visco...Mom...)" He thought, opening his eyes with a frown. He had worked so hard to become a knight. Endured through the initiation, the training, the exhausting preparation. Yet he survived. He remained. Arthur looked up at Alastor, catching his own reflection against the armor. He stared, tears streaming down. His armor was worn, scratched of war...he was a knight first and above all. Was it alright to sob and sorrow? He was human after all- "No." He finally spoke, looking up at Alastor. The light that remained in his eyes gleamed, the spark of naiveness that was once in him slowly dulled out and replaced with something anew. "...I'm sorry, sir Alastor." He spoke, his tone almost different from before. He pushed his hands, freeing himself from Alastor's grip as he fell onto his feet. He backed away, looking up broken. Yet, he seemed to compose himself, quickly properly bowing. "I'll take my leave, sir." He spoke, his childish smile on him once again as he saluted. "I don't know what I'll do. All of my life I have followed orders, and lived to serve to save my home...but I've failed on that. The same goes for the other knights. But...you're right, Sir Alastor." He spoke, frowning as he looked down at his hands, blood seeping through his gloves. For a moment he paused, his head slowly rising up as he growled. "...You're firetrucking right." He hissed, a surge of determination in his eyes as he walked away, not saying another word. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UopuMvi0SCw "Guys we have to get up." Arthur stepped into the tent of the Sodon knights, blinking as he glanced around. "Arthur now's not the time-!" "No, get up!" Arthur insisted, beginning to flip off the bed sheets of the soldier's beds. "HEY! Gancelot what the fu-!" "We have to get up and help with the refugees." "...why?" Arthur looked around. "What do you mean why?" "They're from Heldevora...they aren't our people." "There is no 'our' people anymore. Home is gone. If you don't get up I'll have sir Alastor smack you around!" "H-Hey don't threaten me like that!" Arthur looked around. "Come on...we have to help. We're the experts here." He said, gesturing to everyone. "We're the first humans to ever step into this world. We are the link between the humans and the Fey. We are the ones they will look up to for answers besides the Fey. We have to teach their knights how to fight against the creatures. What they are to expect. To people about the current situation. Who are the ones who stepped first into this world? Us. Who are the survivors against the very first war against this world? Us. Who are the witness to everything so far?! Us!" He spoke. Silence. He sighed for a moment, pulling out his sword and raising it to his neck. Gasps rose. "A-Arthur?!" "Why are we knights?" He asked, looking around. "We are knights in order to protect the people. We wear this armor and flag with pride. Yet, you won't do anything?" He asked, his sword remaining to his neck. "If we aren't knights, then we might as well save the people the time and kill ourselves right now!" He yelled, tears still streaming down. "Alex is already being sent on a death mission!" He yelled. "All to find out Intel on the enemy! Can you all say the same?!" Silence reign the tent, soldiers wiping away their tears. "Please rise out of spite if of nothing." He lowered the sword. "This witch has taken so much from us...so let's show her what humans can really do." He spoke, sheathing his sword. Whispers spread, and soon enough they began to rise. "We have an entire kingdom of people who rely on us now. We can't let everyone lives to have been gone in vain! We fought for the future of humanity! And even though this isn't how we expected it, this is it!" Arthur yelled, knights rising to their feet as he placed a fist against his chest. "For the memory of our kingdom, of Sodon and its citizens, and our princess! As long as we live, then so does Sodon! As long as our king lives, then we serve the people! We shall earn our right to be buried with our armor! No one will forget of Sodon or its soldiers, were it be Human of Fey!" Arthur yelled, his eyes glowing. "FOR SODON AND ALL!" The clashing of metal armor rose. "FOR SODON AND ALL!" The unison of the voices echoed, roaring loudly within the tent. Arthur sighed, looking around. "We have to move. Tent section D and E will have to search for the rest around the camp and drag them over to help, limbs attached optional." Arthur flipped his coat, the emblem of Sodon still embroidered proudly against the blue fabric. "Let's show them what humanity can do." Within the ranges as they Fey received humanity, it was a struggle for organization. Of course, humanity was wary of this new, strange land, and everyone in it. "It's fruit." A fey spoke, insistent on the children to eat it, who instead hid further behind their parents. Before the Fey could speak, Arthur gently took the basket out of her hand, walking over to the group. "Hey now. These fruits aren't harmful to humans. They actually taste like candy." He spoke, taking one and taking a bite out of it. "Hmm! Just like taffy!" He cooed. The children began to slowly step up. "You're human?" "Yes. A knight from the kingdom of Sodon." Arthur spoke, glancing around as he could see the soldiers of Sodon step up, volunteering to help, the hall slowly fulling up with human veterans. "How did you get here?!" "Well, that's a long story. Which I can tell you later...but first you have to eat." Arthur said, offering the fruit. The child stared warily, before taking the fruit and eating it. Before long the child began to scarf it down without hesitation. Arthur smiled, quickly offering the basket of fruits to the rest. "Go ahead. They're all safe for humans." He insisted, children taking the fruits before adults began to take them also. Soon the previously full basket was empty. Arthur turned to the Fey, smiling. "How can I help?" "Hey." A child spoke, getting Arthur's attention. "If you're from Sodon...why are you helping us?" The child's mother hushed him, telling him not to be rude. Arthur shook his head. "From now on, we don't serve Sodon alone." He said, quickly pressing a fist against his chest with pride. "We serve humanity." 4 rikunobodyxiii, Nero Kunivas, Scrapmaster and 1 other reacted to this
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 12, 2018 Jynn Venas-Raiden's Villa Nobody seemed to object Jynn's words. He gets up from his seat and heads to the door leading into the room Raiden and the others are conversing. He sighs and slowly opens the door. The room was filled, and there were a couple of visitors talking to Raiden. As soon as he saw Rabiyu, he thinks to himself. Oh boy, this is not going to go well. He is unsure if she'll even let Jynn into their conversation with Raiden and Alderon. He prepares himself. "Rabiyu........ long time no see." Bherna Lao-Mystras Aura asks Bherna how many people have made it to the Overworld. She hasn't been fully informed about this, but she knows that a lot of humans died. She clasps her hands. "Unfortunately, I do not have that knowledge." Helios was quick to state that a whole kingdom was saved from the disaster. He then asks if there is anything he could do, and if Raiden needed help, he was more than willing to help. She thinks for a second. Isn't father good friends with this Helios fellow? She never personally met Helios before, but she has seen him from afar, and Jynn has mentioned him to her before. "Yes Raiden could use help, so can my father, Jynn." She turns to the direction of Raiden's Villa. "They should be up ahead, but I'm not sure if they have a plan."
Elrandir 783 Posted May 12, 2018 - Aura - Mystras - With Helios and Bherna -Aura was both saddened and relieved at the same time that the young woman didn't had the exact answer of how many humans had survived. Helios also made a good point. They had to help the people who arrived at the Overworld in any way they could."I agree with my partern. There must be something that we can do to help," Aura said to Bherna, "Even if it only is handling food to the survivors. Every little bit counts. I am sure Lord Raiden and Alderon will think of something soon. Both of them are rulers, both with kingdoms of their own. I am sure they will think of something."The people would need to adjust to a completely new way of life, new and different types of fae and the sudden appearance of humans for the fae. Aura knew that there would be some mistrust between the the humans and the residents of the Overworld , and even among those same humans. She could see some soldiers with the crest of Helvadoria in their armors, others from Sondon, other she could identify. This was not the time to fight among each other, but to help those who had survived the destruction of the world below. She only hoped that no fights would happen between the remnants of the different armies.- Rabiyu and Sifrei - Raiden's Study -Both Rabiyu and Sifrey turned to look at the entrance of the study when it suddenly opened, only to reveal that the person behind it was no other than the Prince of Kilkis Seres himself."The lack of manners is not fitting for one such as you, Your Highness. Perhaps you should knock next time to announce your presence before entering a room where a private conversation is happening. But who am I to judge you," Rabiyu said calmly before turning around once again, "While I would have prefered to meet under different circumstances our current situation has left us with but a few choices. How is your hotheaded Royal Knight, Baxter, by the way? Did you made sure that the necessary disciplinary actions were taken to deal with his insubordination and complete disregard for orders coming from his superior? Or did he and Alicia got lost along the way?"Sifrei looked between the Prince and the Elf, paying close attention to his friend. Her words, while usually calm, were almost void of emotions when speaking of this "Baxter" fellow. Sifrei was sure that that would go unnoticed by everyone but him, thanks to being around the elf for a long time, and because that was almost considered normal behavior for the elf, but for now there were more important things to talk about."Do come inside, Your Highness. I am sure this meeting concerns you just as much as it concerns Lord Raiden and King Alderon, as it involves your home" Sifrei said to Jynn, "My condolences, by the way. I am sure that the passing of your mother must have been hard for you."Rabiyu's head turned a little but not enough to look at the Prince. Sifrei was right, the Prince had lost his mother at the hands of a mysterious assassin, and yet here he was, instead of being in Kilkis Seres, sitting on the throne."I expected for you to be sitting on the throne by now, Your Highness. Instead, we find out that it is Yevgeni Malachite who holds control over Kilkis Seres." Rabiyu said, "Is there an explaination as to why that happened? Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 12, 2018 - Helios - Mystras - /w Aura & Bherna - Helios listened, his head perking up at the mention of Jynn as her father. "Wait." He hummed, taking a step forward. "It can't be...princess Bherna?" He asked, blinking as he tilted his head. She looked so...grown up. Despite only being months since he last saw her. He had never met her personally, but how could anyone forget Jynn's daughter, always by his side? "You've grown." Was the first thing he said, chuckling before giving a small bow. He turned to Aura, smiling. "Maybe we could go ahead and ask them. Though I'm sure they're all pretty busy...no one expected this happen." He hummed, looking back at Bherna. His eyes narrowed for a moment. "But...why is your father here, your highness? He should be a Kilkis Seres, should he not? or at least you in his stead if he is here?" Helios asked. Even he knew a bit about royal politics here and there. There was just some things that were expected. Yet as with everything so far, the only thing they should be expecting was the unexpected itself. "This doesn't look good." He finally decided, looking back down at Aura. "I'm sure that this is a thing between leaders...but I can't stay here and remain blissfully ignorant. Not after what's happened so far." He said, looking back at Bherna. "I'll go see if I can meet your father and Raiden, then...or eavesdrop on the conversation. Either way." He said, a smirk on his lips. Helios was still Helios. As he began to walk, he paused, looking back at Aura. "Come with me? I'm sure we both could use some answers." He said, offering his hand. - Arthur - Mystras - Helping the refugees - Whether it was his speech, of the threat of having sir Alastor smack them silly, the soldiers of Sodon stepped up to the plate to help the Fey take care of the refugees the best they could. It was an entire kingdom, and they had to make sure everyone was alright. Every single one. Among so many people no one had seen the king such yet, so they figured that he was speaking with lord Raiden, or King Alderon. The elderly were helped to move, the hungry were offered food, and the confused were offered answers. Human soldiers were already collecting names and districts of what they knew from the kingdom. It wasn't perfect, but it was as good as they could do under the circumstances. Arthur paused, carrying another basket of fruits as he glanced at a...strange looking Fey. He had never seen his kind before. It was like looking a giant bug. He seemed lost? Confused? Hard to tell considering it had a great poker face...and by that we mean he had no face at all. Arthur hummed, pursing his lips as he walked over to the bug Fey. "Hey?" He asked, lifting his basket of fruits. "You seem lost. Are you hungry?" He asked. "If you're looking to volunteer, we could use more people to set up more tents." He asked, smiling a bit. "I...haven't seen your species before...you're really cool!" 1 Scrapmaster reacted to this
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 13, 2018 Bherna Lao-Mystras It seems that Aura was wanting to help as well, but Helios took a minute to realize Bherna's identity. He even bowed and referred to her by her status. "Oh please, there is no need for that! Just 'Bherna' is fine." She was a lot like Jynn, she'd rather be referred to by her name instead of a royal title. She lowers her hood, revealing her short brown hair with a single pigtail hanging down her left shoulder. A few surrounding male fey take a glance at her, most likely the reason she has her hood up. Thankfully, friendly faces made her feel comfortable with it off. Helios then asks why Jynn would be here in Mystras instead of Kilkes Seres. "My father was on his way to take the leadership from Yevgeni, but he was attacked by what we presume to be the murderer of Shiva. But once he repelled the aggressor, he was too late. Yevgeni had already clouded the minds of most of our men, so we had to retreat here to keep my father out of harms way." She then explains how she aged so fast. "I took it upon myself to complete my training in a undisclosed location. I've aged by three hundred years, but my father says I've been gone for two days." Helios then recommends seeing the three leaders, to which Bherna agrees upon. "Absolutely. I could probably get us in Raiden's Villa, being Jynn's daughter. Come on!" She starts to dart over to the villa. Melstrome sneaks up behind Helios and Aura, and nudges them to go forward, probably in a way to try to make the two feel awkward. rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted May 13, 2018 {Mariel: Mystras; Quarters} Mariel jerked awake from a fitful sleep. She didn't remember falling asleep, and it had done little to absolve her of the depression she felt. With her attempts to block it failed, it seemed all she had left was to wallow in it. "No right to..." the Guardian Angel murmured, memories of her old mentor surfacing. Early in her training, Mariel had failed to a training exercise to protect a target during a skirmish. She had taken it hard and cried. Archon Zauriel had been observing and asked her what she thought she was doing. Mariel had tried to stammer out words, but Zaurel silenced them with a hand. "Do not let failures keep you from doing what must be done." He had said, his tone kinder than before. "Mourn the lost, but keep fighting for the living. As guardians, we have no right to put our misery ahead of our duties to others. And in continuing our sacred duty, we can find the courage to move on from past failures." Mariel smiled briefly at the memory. She had learned later that the exercise about learning what to do when your principle died. Not a lesson she took well to heart, it seemed. "Or two thousand years away has made me soft." She thought. Clinging to her mentor's words, the Guardian Angel cleaned herself up and left her lodgings, heading for where the human refugees had been placed. {Among the Refugees} Still in her human guise, Mariel wandered through the human refugees, unsure of where to start. If only she had been around to prevent this. Her wandering feet brought her to a scene of a human soldier carrying a basket of fruit speaking with a fey. Something made the disguised angel pause. There was a determination in the soldier, still enact in the face of great tragedy. She remained in place as she watched Arther go about his business.
