- Aura - Near Mystran encampment - With Helios -

"Actually, Rabiyu told me that besides Sifrei and a few others, not many angels dwell in the north. Elves? I think the largest concentration is in the City of Water, if what Rabiyu told me is correct," Aura answered as she sat next to Helios, "There is also dragons apparently, but she didn't told me where, only that they weren't very social with other races. The north sounds like an interesting place, that's for sure, but let's not get ahead of ourselves."

The young woman listened to everything Helios wanted to do, which was a lot compared to what she wanted to do. She was amazed with everything Helios said, but she reckon that the young fey, at least she thought he was young, would have more than enough time to do all of that and more, which made her feel a little bit jealous, but it was the good kind of jealousy. Sure, she could try to do all of those things too, but in reality Aurion was the one who sometimes thought about being a scholar, not her.

"If things go well, and humans can one day come to this world, I am sure your books will help a lot of them. Same with any fey who wish to go to the world below," Aura said while looking around the trees, "I am sure you will fulfill all your goals, Helios. You will far outlive any of us from the world below, but I am sure you will help future generations."

Aura never thought about that particular topic. Sure, sometimes Aurion would joke about wanting nephews or nieces, and she would do the same to him, but it was always that, a joke. She was still young, she was still in her mid-twenties, but she knew a few girls who were married at a younger age. Perhaps one day, but not in the near future.

"I am, thanks for asking. I think I felt a little oppressed being around such a place," she answered without looking at Helios, "The scent of blood, the cries of pain, the faces full of sadness or anger. I had to get away from all of that for a moment. You have my thanks for that."

--Curvis Sourati -- Leaving Kilkis Seres-

The brunet's fingers wrapped tightly around the coin that Aqua extended to him.  Despite the chill in the air, the coin felt warm to the touch.  Curvis didn't know what the currency looked like in the Overworld, but he presumed that this coin was far more than an object to be traded at a mere supermarket.  It probably held some kind of significance beyond what the eye could meet.  Carefully he slipped it into his pocket.

"I will treasure it, fair lady," Curvis said with a bow.  "Until we meet again, Aqua.  And good luck."

He then set upon his trek back to the Mystran encampment.  It was quite a ways from there, and he wasn't even fully certain on the direction, though he had a pretty rough idea.  He did, however, have a map and compass at hand, should he come to need it.  A part of him couldn't help wondering if his absence was noted, and if anyone would miss him.  Would they even be glad to see him?

--Yevgeni Malachite-- Kilkis Seres campsite--

The elf watched Soren curiously, his expression never faltering.  "I choose not to believe what I hear from the average soldier without having further evidence," Yevgeni told him simply.  "I was aware that you left your post in Isopolis, but what ever became of you thereafter I do not know for fact.  However, it would seem clear to me that you are indeed confessing that you have betrayed Her Majesty in aiding Lord Raiden.  My question is not why you did so, but rather: why you returned.  What ever gave you reason to have a change of heart?"  He lifted a finger.  "And why is it that she would be assassinated the very day of your return?  I will not lie and state that I find it a very odd coincidence, chiefly since it was Lord Raiden who supposedly last saw her alive."

Soren's next question stung Yevgeni, causing him to visibly wince, though perhaps for reasons other than those which Soren would assume.  He couldn't imagine how he must be feeling right now.  That statement couldn't have been further from the truth.  So many emotions coursed through Yev: relief, fear, excitement, dread, sorrow, and, perhaps surprisingly, regret.  It didn't bring him joy that Queen Shiva was dead.  No, far from it.  The fact that he just committed treason was beyond reason to him, and in his heart he mourned her, perhaps as much, if not more, than those around him.  Her death was only a necessary action in order to attain a greater world--that was all.  It was indeed regrettable to Yev, and even still he couldn't help once in a while asking himself: was there another way?

"You have no idea," he said simply, averting his gaze for perhaps the first time during their meeting.

It was then that Soren presented the cupcake, seeming to seek permission from the regent before devouring it.  Yev merely nodded in consent, reaching alongside the crate and procuring a metal pitcher and matching glasses.  He poured a clear liquid from it, which presumably was water, and handed one of the metal glasses to the Sentinel.

"Something to wash it down with," he explained smoothly, before resuming his seat and taking a long sip from his own glass.  "If you are famished we may take this conversation to the supply tent, where I'm certain we can find and prepare a decent meal for you.  I have many questions, as I'm sure do you, but they can wait until you are satiated."

--Everyth Castanova -- Mystran encampment--

Everyth's eyes widened in surprise when Mariel explained how long she had dwelt in the world below, and undetected, at that.

"I had no idea that a fey could still sustain that long of a life down there in our world without magic," said Everyth, impressed.  "Were you merely trapped, or did you ever want to go back?"

The raven-haired woman assumed that she had indeed been trapped, but was still curious nonetheless.

"Also, from one bodyguard to another, I noticed that you seem to have a very keen eye on your surroundings.  Or, rather, Lord Raiden's," Everyth continued, perhaps unwelcomely.  "Is it that you are looking for someone, or are you simply his secret bodyguard?"

Perhaps Everyth was giving Mariel too hard of a time, though there was something curious to her about the angel that just didn't feel right.

(Also, Riku, if you're trying to get Mariel over to Sifrei and Rabs I can dismiss Everyth in my next post.  I definitely don't want to hold you up in your plans. :))

- Lord Raiden, Mystran campsite -

Raiden eyed the two of the North curiously, unsure how Rabiyu was able to detect the essence of the two royals and internally questioning if she had such a gift to begin with, before clearing his throat.

"A small retinue is best, yes, especially after such an instance.  Risk to the prince or risk to myself -- neither is worth the trouble of inaction."

The addition of Henry in the tent caused Raiden to glance his way, fold an arm onto the other where the owl perched, and look into the distance meditatively.  The question both Rabiyu and Henry asked was difficult to voice in a summary, but he made an attempt.

"What happened," he started, "was as I stated and more, so I shall start from the beginning.  Shiva and I met in the field near Lake Kresnik.  She opted for a duel to the death while I desired conversation, and so we entered a parley.  I managed to convince her that the peace we both craved did not need to end in bloodshed, and we traded hands in honour of a treaty, but a taunting voice carried on from across the field, sneering at us.  It was the assassin of which I spoke, a callous man that traversed the distance faster than I could trace and cut Shiva down from behind.  Then . . . the front.  He was merciless in his carvings, with no sense of dignity towards the queen.  Instead the wicked individual showed delight."

Raiden balled his fists so tightly that his fingernails bit sharply into the flesh of his palms.  He again looked at his audience, this time with narrowed eyes and a nasty expression.

"I intend to avenge her, like I attempted before Soren came bounding in, the buffoon.  Turns out he was skulking in the shadows like the other.  Whether he was merely onlooking or not, I know not, but his hotheadedness may have saved my life . . . or the assassin's.  Of his allegiance, I know not, but part of me wonders if he was in league with the enemy, the assassin and the puppet master or masters behind the scenes.  However, that is neither here nor there.  All that takes place will come after I reply to the prince's letter."

- Jari Coriander, Kilkes Seres' campsite -

Jari tried calming himself down as he looked past the visor, but instead of eyes he found only an inky blackness, which only unnerved him further.  Coupling that with Maxis' menacing aura and demeanour, he should have been reduced to a pile of fluffy gelatin.

But he was not.

A spark of anger surged up from the wells of his heart and converted into an angry foxfire sheen in his eye.  He stared down Maxis with acrimony.  Even if he was very much scared, he realised it was high time to stand up for himself and stop being a coward, for Morana's sake and for Elia's too.  This anger only burned stronger when he grabbed Elia by the throat after she tried to help him, but before he could lash out with everything he had in his peppy soul she was dropped, and the armour went aside to sledge his head against a table.  Jari leapt up to assist Elia, attempting to keep her upright and raising his small blade in defense of his friend when the clone appeared and disappeared.

Jari did not know what to do regarding the living armour.  Maxis seemed torn in half, losing himself to madness and barely clinging to sanity like the clone dictated.

"You should be sorry!" he shrieked furiously, tears welling in his eyes as his sword lowered to his side.  Maxis laid a hand on his only remaining friend, which Jari thought was inexcusable and could never be forgiven.  "You can't do that to people, and should feel very bad for that, but if it means you leave me and my friend alone I'll tell you.  The blond elf left that way.  Now go!  Go and don't talk to us again."

He whimpered near the end, ears pinned backwards and tail stiff.  Amidst the sorrows that he already bore and the scare of a lifetime he recently experienced, he was close to breaking out in hiccup-filled sobs.

- Rabiyu and Sifrei - Mystran campsite -

"You look confused, Your Lordship. Are you wondering how is it possible for me to know who this owl belonged to?" Rabiyu asked while looking at Raiden, "I was close enough to both the Frostbearer and the Crown Prince, I have a good grasp of their scents."

"One of the boons of being the caretaker of the Forest of Illusions, I presume?" Sifrei said to Rabiyu, "Or else you could end up wandering the infinite maze for eternity."

Both judges looked at Henry once he was inside the tent, Sifrei was curious about why he was there, and Rabiyu simply stared at him. The two of them listened to what the Lord of Mystras had to say about the events of last night, apparently Shiva had wanted a duel to the death, a duel that Raiden refused. And that was when Rabiyu's remembered her vision, she remembered the handshake, and the looming shadow above the two.

"So, Soren Monroe is alive? That is good, I suppose, but his involvement in this chain of events is yet to be understood. What was he doing there, I wonder." she said to Raiden.

"The Frostbearer was a strong woman, young, but stong. To attack her on the back when she was vulnerable is unforgivable. The Crown Prince will have a lot on his shoulders now that the Queen is gone." Sifrei said calmly.

"The Prince has a good head on his shoulders, Sifrei. I am sure both him and His Lordship can work something. Although, I am worried about how the residents of Kilkis will react to your presence, Lord Raiden." Rabiyu stated. "If rumors of your involvement in the events of last night reached Mystras, then it is quite obvious that the rumors also reached Kilkis Seres by now."

"I do not wish to bring suspicions to either the citizens of Mystras or Kilkis Seres, but this unknown assailant could still be wandering around, hiding in the shadows, waiting for another chance to strike. Who can profit with this situation? And to what end?"

Rabiyu looked how Raiden balled his fists, this was obviously affecting him more than it should, it was not just the fact that Shiva had been attacked, no, there was something else, something more emotional, personal, whatever was going on inside the mind of Raiden was a mystery for the elf.

"Did you recovered the weapon that was used to attack the Frostbearer, Your Lordship?" Rabiyu asked, "Perhaps it could hold a clue as to who was the perpetrator of such act."

- Helios - Side: Mystras - /w Aura -

Helios nodded, resting his head back against the tree. "The injured will have some peace and quiet. The soldiers will get to relax for a while. Raiden and his people will be preparing for Jynn's arrival. No one will mind if we enjoy the day outside." Helios said, perking his head up at Aura's mention of dragons in the north. "No way, so there are some up there for real? The closest I've ever gotten to a dragon is Ren." Helios said, his eyes softening at the mention of his friend. "I hope his family is able to give him a proper burial." Helios hummed, looking down at the group of fruits he had collected. "Hm...I wonder if Raiden would mind if I sneak into the kitchen and use it. I bet we can make some pretty yummy stuff with these fruits." Helios hummed, smiling at Aura. "Unless you want to explore a bit more? If you get tired I'll transform into something and carry you...or we can take a nap." Helios said, closing his eyes momentarily as he basked in the sunlight. A nap in the sun did sound good. It had been a while since he'd done that, in any shape and form. "No one will notice we're missing. Henry can come looking for us afterwards." Helios purred, yawning slightly.

- Aura - Near Mystran encampment - With Helios -

"It is a nice day. Well, maybe nice is not the word I'm looking for, it still feels that something is wrong but," Aura said before looking up, "Anyways. Yes, Rabiyu said something along those lines."

Aura noticed the change in Helios's eyes, the loss of a friend was something that hurt, she knew that.

"I hope so too. Him and every person who fell." Aura stated.

Early in the morning she had asked about the whereabouts of her brother's body, and sure, she found him after asking a few healers. Apparently his body was infused with some kind of magic that would protect it from the passing of time. Such magic was of angelic nature the healers said. Which made Aura wonder if Sifrei had anything to do with that. She couldn't really afford to go back into the world below to bury Aurion's body, not now anyways.

"I do not think Lord Raiden minds at all. The servants? " she said with a smile, "They are a different story. I think I am fine for now, but perhaps another day. A nap does sounds good to me, though"

Aura got herself in a comfortable position and closed her eyes. The warm rays of the sun felt nice, the surrounding sounds and scents made her feel relaxed and calm. Perhaps it wasn't a bad idea to have a small nap.

"We could stay here for a little while longer , away from the stress that can be felt around the map at this moment."

- Arthur - Side: Mystras - Searching -

Arthur excused himself from the group, hurrying out of the tent as he hurried off to a specific tent, located closest to the battlefield itself. It was isolated, and large enough to have different sections of its own. The closer you got, the stronger the mix of scents became. The strong mix of multiple perfumes and incense forced to work together in hopes of covering up the most prominent smell of all; death. The smoke of the incense covered the tent in an eerie blanket as Arthur approached. There were multiple people there already. Some were civilians, others soldiers, the rest responsible for the tent itself and what they contained; the bodies of the dead. As he approached the entrance, a Fey walked over to him. "Do you seek someone?" He asked. "Yes." Arthur said, his eyes lowering in shame. "A human." The Fey hummed, stepping away for a moment before coming back with a scarf dipped in perfume. "You will need this." He said. Arthur took it, wrapping it around his face as it covered from his nose and below. The Fey gestured for Arthur to follow, leading him into the tent. He led Arthur to a separate section, walking into an area with bodies covered in white lined up from end to end, with enough spaces in between to walk. "These are the ones we have classified as humans." The Fey began, pointing at one group. "On this side are the ones we have been able to identify, their names are written on tags." The Fey then pointed to the other group. "On that side are the ones we have been unable to identify. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it." The Fey lowered his head. "Good luck." With that, it stepped out of the area, leaving Arthur alone to search. Arthur gulped, first making his way to the pile of identified bodies. He walked by each one, pausing to read their names. "No...No...No..." Arthur hummed, passing by each body as he felt both relief and fear that the next one would be the one. He searched for who knows how long and by the end of it, he did not find who he was looking for, much to his relief. But his stomach turned as he now stepped over to the unidentified bodies, feeling his heart racing as it meant that he would have to actually see them and see if he was there. He swallowed his fear as he proceeded to search again. He lifted the sheets ever so gently, his grip shaking at every time, anxiously waiting to see a familiar face staring right back at him. But it was not meant to be, as none of the faces that he looked were of the one of his friend. He felt ever so relieved...and yet ever so worried of what it would mean. Where was he, then? Arthur stepped out of the area, unable to stop shaking as he did. He hurried to find the Fey again. "Excuse me." He asked, the Fey turning to him. "I...I did not find who I was looking for, in neither side." He said. The Fey was quick to search through his list. "Maybe they have already been delivered to their families. May I have a name?" "Curvis Sourati." The Fey hummed, searching through the list in silence before eventually shaking his head. "He is not here." "What does that mean?" "It means, that if he is not in the unidentified pile, he is considered to be MIA. His body has not been found nor recovered." The Fey explained. Arthur felt his heart drop to his stomach. "Oh." The Fey's eyes softened. "Do not despair." He assured. "The fact that we have not found him means that he might not be dead at all. Maybe he still lives...we just haven't found him. So...have faith." The Fey said. Arthur nodded. "...Yeah." "Is there anything else?" "No...thank you." "No problem. Be careful, and let us both hope I don't see you here as a resident in the upcoming days." Arthur nodded, gently taking off the scarf as he held his breath, handing it back to the Fey before running out of the tent. He held his breath until he was at a reasonable distance away, finally taking a deep breath of fresh air as he frowned. "Ah...where are you, Curvis?"

(With Scrap at the beach and him wanting Henry to join up with Mariel and Sif, a delay with Everyth actually works out. Unless I'm holding you up, Elrandir?)

{Mariel: Mystras Camp}

"Trapped." Mariel answered promptly. "Though I didn't really try to go back at first, there still being some loose ends that kept me busy for the first few hundred years."

The Guardian Angel eyed Everyth carefully. She had missed the aura around this one. Another augmented human. Though something was off about the aura. A side effect? Everth's observation of her behavior caused Mariel to tighten her jaw. She didn't like being read like this.

"It stood to reason to be cautious." She replied carefully. "He saw the real assassin, is a leader on an opposing side of the assassinated queen, and is vying for peace. Any one of these is worth taking extra precautions."

Forcing herself to relax, Mariel cocked her head to the side as she continued to study the raven haired human.

"So, as a bodyguard yourself, who is your responsibility?"

- Soren Monroe, the Penitent Traitor - Kilkis Camp with Yevgeni Malachite -

Though he didn't state it, Soren was pleased that Yevgeni didn't simply believe the hearsay from the troops or any passing common folk, preferring to hear it straight from the horses mouth so to speak. Try as he might however, he could not keep his cool when Yevgeni spoke of the coincidence of Soren's return and Shiva's death. "If you mean to insinuate that I had any part in Her Majesties death, Yevgeni, you would be gravely mistaken. I betrayed her, yes, but that was a rash decision!" Soren exclaimed, but it was more out of grief and shock than anything else, nothing in his words indicated any malice toward Yevgeni, as he did not shout.

"I...do not have it in me to end the life of someone I was once so...and still loyal to, noble regent." He then took a deep breath before continuing, attempting to quell his burgeoning sadness. "And if you ask me...I don't believe Lord Raiden does, either." Soren said, believing that mentioning his ability to vouch for Raiden personally might be damning to them both. "I came back to Shiva because my loyalty to her overruled any petty ambition I might've had a few months ago. Even in death, I am her servant." Soren then declared sincerely, feeling himself relax a little. Though he did catch Yevgeni's averted gaze after Soren's sympathy was extended.

After Soren had taken out his cupcake, Yevgeni politely offered him a drink, as well as a visit to the supply tent for a more full meal, as well as a continuation of their discussion. "A drink and dinner? You're very kind." He spoke, then he unwrapped his cupcake to take a bite, then swiftly washing it down with the provided drink. "Hmm...all right then. I accept. And you're correct, we've much to discuss, might as well do it over a fine meal, my liege." Soren then stood up, but waited for Yevgeni to take the lead, inside he had hoped his usage of the appropriate honorific would be pleasing to Yevgeni, as well as hoping the elf could fill the role of Ruler well, though only time would tell.

~Aqua: At the Camp, Kilkis Seres~

Aqua watched Curvis walk away. A gentle sigh left her lips. She looked toward the sky. No use in avoiding the truth anymore she would need to go see Elia. That being said she could almost swear she could hear a struggle. She rolled her eyes. Well, she might as go see Elia and check if there was a fight at the same time. She felt nervous to be honest and yet she needed to do it, besides the idea of a fight at the camp bothered her. She steadied her nerves and headed toward the sounds of yelling. It wasn’t very far from her tent and took only a minute or two of walking to reach her destination. “What’s going on here?” She demanded worriedly.

She could see Elia one the ground with a male standing in front of her in a protective stance. There was also a male in armor, or rather what she thought to be a male in armor. She couldn’t fully gauge the situation at a glance, but something felt wrong about the male even from a glance. He seemed almost to be acting as if he had to minds. Well, she could only guess anyway, regardless something about him felt off. Not that she knew of him of him in any major way, but the look on Elia’s face spoke of her both knowing him and being hurt by something he said or did. Well, she had known Elia made a few friends since she last spoke to her at any length.

- Lord Raiden, Mystran encampment -

The balled fists of the ruler of Mystras unravelled as Rabiyu mentioned the Feyslayer, and his eyes perused her in hidden mistrust.  How did she know that it was recoverable?  Would it not have been assumed that the weapon was taken away with the assailant?  The topic was a strange one, though the process was undeniably keen.  If the weapon was salvageable, there could have been some trace of understanding about its whereabouts, its owners, or its source materials.  Unfortunately, however, he knew two of the three.

"The weapon was my own," he answered after a great huff, deciding not to hide information that was common knowledge enough within the human ranks.  "It was a relic of great power, a Feyslayer which once killed many individuals with its keen edge.  It is interwoven with a special kind of iron not commonly found in the Overworld toxic to many of our magical kin.

"I kept the blade as a memento of the dark days when these were used, so that they would never be hefted again, but it was lifted within days of the humans' arrival and stolen from the premises."  He groaned and shadowed his eyes with a kneading motion of his hand on his brow.  "Had I but shattered that dagger sooner than on the battlefield, Shiva may not have died to its potency."

- Rufus Contralto, Mystran encampment -

Rufus clung to the campsite as if he was tethered to it, particularly because he was, in fact, tethered to it.  At times he cursed the fact that the wispy tail of smoke that emanated from his head restricted his movements, but he felt more akin with the people nearby because of it.  He breathed out a sad exhale as he sat in the air, spiralling as if suspended in a bubble and watching the world seemingly gyrate about his head.

"Why are memories surging even now?" he murmured to himself, itching his afro-laden scalp in puzzlement.  "This second life just baffles me.  If I could wish on myself like my prior masters, it would be to restore my memory as I desire it.  Taunting me with its ever presence, it shall verily drive me to lunacy."  He chuckled and slapped his knee, afterwards replying to himself, "If it hasn't already taken me already, yes, lunacy is definitely at my door.  But who is this young woman I see before me?  Her auburn hair, her starry eyes, her petite form that can only be thirteen in my mind's eye?  Some tragedy must have befallen her for this mayoral speech to cling to me so.  Who on earth is she?"

He gazed up, which then was straight down to everyone else, and listened to the murmurs of the many.  Some were relaxing and returning to their business, while others still remained nearby, with heavy hearts and, sometimes, with an abundance of dialogue.  Something within Rufus' fragile brain snapped, and it was no twig.

"If only I can think without all of THESE WAGGING TONGUES FLAPPING IN THE BREEZE!" he exclaimed with a harrumph of irritation, pouching his hands beneath his arms and locking them in such a position.  Few, if not none at all, seemed to pay him mind.  "Fine, I'll get a little higher," he gabbed on further, levitating a little more, "and when I'm done thinking I'll get back with the mistress who holds my lamp.  What on earth is she doing in that tent, I wonder?  I want to take a peek, but if she catches me, hoo boy, I'd be in for it.  Best not risk it, BUT I'M SO DESIROUS TO KNOW."

Still he held his position, pouting and levitating, until he appeared more like a crazed bird than a person at ground level.

- Henry - The Aug - Mystras Encampment, Raiden's tent -

The moment Henry entered the tent he faced the confused and blank stares of everyone, one person was blank, other indifferent but interested and Raiden had a more sublte reaction, but he could guess he wasn't exactly welcome in the tent. Regardless, Henry listened in on Raiden and Rabiyu and Sifrei, finding great interest in some parts of Raiden's dialogue.

Folding his arms as he thought for a second with Ariana.

'Lake Kresnik...?'

'Its not that far, actualy, then again nothing's that far in the overworld.'

'True enough, but what about the feyslayer?'

'An ancient weapon held in rumors and legends, its history is that it has slain a great many feys, even kings, all in one slice of the cursed sword.'

'I see.'

And just after they had this small interchange in his mind Raiden explained a bit about the sword, giving further knowledge of why it was lethal. "It is not your fault for wanting to keep mementos, however, I wonder how the assassin managed to get a hold of it, security over it must have been tight if it was such a deadly relic." Henry gave a comment. "Would it be safe to assume this assassin may have a connection within the ranks? Because how would he even know of the sword and acquire it?" Henry ended that line of thought with a further comment

"And while we're on the topic of the assassin...Raiden." Henry spoke, looking straight at Raiden, his tone tightening in seriousness. "Do you remember the killer's appearance? Clothing, any other apparel on him, it might be a stretch but it could prove useful." Henry asked, after all it seemed changing clothes to look different wasn't the trend these days.

- Ivany - The Doctor who's way in over her head - Kilkis Seres encampment -

Ivany's expression turned into even more of a shocked one as Meksis further commented and came to the conclusion of his original body's hollowness. Which may have prompted the being to cause all of this in the first place.

"That is a possibilty, there had been cases of the vessels going on rampages, but none like this." Ivany spoke as Meksis mentioned the queen, which made her widen her eyes and bring a hand to her chin.

"That is also a poss-" Ivany was mid speech as Meksis almost sunk into despair. Which prompted Ivany to take up a concerned expression as she remembered she had something else. Quickly scrambling off to a shelf of books, pulling an old book and opening it, and smirking as she had gotten the right one.

"Here." Ivany spoke as she held the tome right in front of Meksis, this was an old book with key words used in the ancient times, and with other knowledge, all of which was in the old language, and she could not read it for the life of her, but was given to her by Maxis for safekeeping in case anything went wrong. She couldn't even read the book's title, it was that foreign to her.

"You'l do your job, find your other self, and fix Maxis. This book has key words used for a myriad of things, its in your old language, and you should be able to read it. Maybe there is a sentence in it that can help you suppress yourself, maybe even forcefully purge a bit of corruption..." Ivany commented, it was a stretch, but damn those researchers back then were paranoid and prepared.

- Maxis - The Mad - Kilkis Seres encampment -

Maxis stood still for several minutes, seemingly in a trance, he was completely still, like a truly empty armor as Jari spoke to him. A small, thin line of madness energy seeping from Maxis's eyeplate. "Seems like your tail isn't always between your legs." Maxis taunted, in a completely sadistic tone. Which might have seemed random after Maxis's prior reaction to his actions, but Maxis's wans't the same anymore. He was unhinged now, and it would show.

"Thank you for the directions...i'l leave you two alone...until we meet again, Fox boy." Maxis spoke, without facing Jari as he began to walk towards the pointed direction. Ignoring any bad looks and prying eyes the others gave him. He made his way to where Yevgeni, but did notice the blond was already conversing with someone else, Soren...in particular, someone Maxis held almost nothing but disdain for, a sentiment shared by a lot of soldiers alike.

Maxis hid behind a corner wall as the two spoke for a moment, none of their conversation proved much use other than further increasing Maxis's suspicion that something else was afoot. Maybe that clone he sent to Mystras might be able to find out...something. But he would do his part here while he could.

As they were about to leave somewhere, it was the perfect opportunity to have Maxis's presence known. He turned the corner, and walked towards the two. He walked over to them without saying a word until he was only just a few meters away from them.

"Hello." Maxis let out in greeting. "Yevgeni...Soren." Maxis added, his tone to Soren would lower in pitch a bit, just to show how he felt about the man. "Going somewhere?" Maxis asked, changing his tone to that of a carefree and excited one. "I've been meaning to speak to you Yevgeni."

- Rabiyu and Sifrei - Mystran encampment -

A Feyslayer? Now there was a name Sifrei knew too well for his own good. Rabiyu on the other hand? knew little of these weapons. What she DID knew was when she had heard of of such weapon. Weeks ago, when the group sent by the Frostbearer arrived at Mystras, in a bar called The Flowering Hyssop, and a plan to steal a rather peculiar dagger from Raiden's vault. All of that planned by non other than Yevgeni.

"A Feyslayer? There is a name I haven't heard in many centuries," Sifrei said, "I thought most of them were destroyed or sealed away, but for one to be wandering around in the hands of a mysterious assassin, it is worrisome."

The augmented human was right, that could help them pinpoint the culprit, but it was not that simple. There were spells that allowed one to change appearence and if that was the case then it would be a dead end.

"I think Master Henry poses a good question, Your Lordship," Sifrei said, "but let's not forget to take into consideration that a fey can change their appearance with the use of magic. His appearence may have been different."

While all of this was being said Rabiyu was thinking about Yevgeni, he asked the humans to steal a dagger from Raiden, a dagger infused with lightning magic that could take down even the most powerful of fey. Apparently he was going to explain what was his plan for the weapon, until Baxter showed up, now it would remain a mystery. What would happen if Yevgeni was the one who killed the Queen? He would be considered a traitor to Kilkis Seres, he would be executed. She had to learn more about this, and the journey to Kilkis Seres with Raiden could help with such investigation. She could ask a wish to Rufus, a simple worded wish to reveal the true culprit, but she wanted to give him the freedom he wished for. She had only one choice, to share her knowledge with Raiden.

"May I interrupt for a moment, Your Lordship, I think I have knowledge that could prove useful to this case," she said, "If you recall my arrival a few weeks ago, after the attack from a creature related to the Black Witch,a doom hound, I asked Master Alastor and the Infiltrator to permit me to have an audience with you. But before that, I told them about one other fey that was travelling with me, Yevgeni Malachite, who hired a stray group of humans to retrieve a weapon from your vault. Thanks to this new information I have a reason to suspect that Yevgeni Malachite of Kilkis Seres had something to do with the assessination of the Frostbearer. Either he comitted the murder or sent someone else. Perhaps you know of whom I'm speaking of. Was he, perhaps, the one who you saw last night."

- Meksis, the Divided - Ivany's Tent, Kilkis Encampment -

While Meksis focused to keep the Defiled at bay, Ivany surprised him with an ancient tome, a book from the time of his Armour's creation written in an older, now unused language...where Ivany procured an item like this was a mystery, though Meksis had to assume that Maxis gave her it, but even then it was unusual. "I won't look a gift horse in the mouth...thank you, Ivany." Meksis spoke hoarsely, taking the book from her hands gently. The mere notion of Meksis handling this book produced a sneer from the Defiled at the back of his mind, who knew this book held at least some answers, potentially a solution.

"The language is a much older form of Elvish...at least, the title and most of the magics are. But a few are in a tongue not uttered since the primeval days of the Overworld...every word of either language holds power in and of themselves." Meksis explained, though Ivany would find it hard to tell whether he was in reverence or terror at the book. "The, title translated says: "In Shaping Worlds and Nations, written by Those Before Us". Their idea of pretense, I'm sure." The Chaperone snarked a little, though it was only to abate his feelings toward the book. "With this book, you could bring light to darkness, purge corruptions...forge Rings of Power. And chiefly, create the Living Armours. Maxis was created in a time of desperation, so they missed a few words." Meksis said, dusting off the front of the tome as he did, pacing around just a little.

Timidly, he finally opened the tome, gazing at words beyond Ivany's considerable understanding, it almost felt like a privilege, but he knew so many words here can be a blight, a curse or an omen of death. "This book can do great and terrible things indeed, I just need to find...here!" He flipped through the pages, landing his finger on a particular verse: One that would abate the Defiled, but not purge him.

"Gwathren i na- min.

In i fuin, na n- naud.

Im am cín herdir, nifred nin magol.

Im mír-, cin luithi-."

Meksis spoke aloud the words of old, a presence of power could be felt in the air around him and Ivany as his voice echoed, a whisper akin to his own backing his spoken verse. The Defiled hissed at him inside, the Darkness lining his armour retreated below the plates, no longer visible with the weight on his shoulders lessened, yet present still. Finally, Meksis could sigh with relief.

"I already know what must be said to Maxis...it's just a matter of dealing with him, I'm afraid." Meksis rose to a straighter stance, closing the book and storing it with his weapons in the other space. "Now listen to me, Ivany." He then said, taking her by the shoulders as insistence. "Keep yourself safe, secure this tent or find somewhere with firmer foundations. Maxis could come for you while I look for him and..." Meksis hesitated, a brief moment of fear took him, but not was not the time. "I cannot bear the thought of what he would do to you. Stay secret, stay safe. Don't let anyone in, do you understand?" He affirmed, but waited for Ivany to answer before his departure.

Jynn Venas-Abode with Typhon and Jeremy

Typhon clearly doesn't like Jynn's idea of waiting, but regardless, he offers to help, if Jynn didn't mind having a wanted species around. "I don't mind. People like to think that me and my mother are the same. But in actuality, we are hardly alike. I don't know why she targeted your kind, but now I have the power to ban the outrageous slaying of any species." He sighs in guilt. "However, I don't think there's much I can do to help recover your species' population......"

There was a long pause. It was becoming awkward for Jynn, and not only that, he had to prepare himself for what's to come. "Gather whatever you need. As soon as we hear back from Raiden, we are heading out. Please excuse me." He hastily heads back into the abode and into his office.

-Rhaedyn Thane, with Mikhail-

Soon enough, the forest edge was upon the duo.

"This way." He spoke, striding deeper. "Deeper still we must go. I can feel the weight of such hatred already...how vile our assassin must be."

-Jeremy, with Jynn-

He stopped, then turned and headed back, shrugging. Staying quiet and leaning against the wall, he just listened to Typhon and Jynn's conversation. As Jynn went inside, Jeremy followed.

"...I'll stick around, I guess." He shrugged. "Can't let you get hurt. Bad for alliances." his mouth quirked a bit, and he leaned against the wall. He liked leaning against walls, it was an alternative to sitting when he didn't feel like it.

"And bad for the world in general."

-Eclaire Oathkeeper, Shiva's Former House-

She groaned and sat up. The Rite of Naming had sucked from her magic power, and now she got up. rubbing her face with the back of her hands, she looked for something to wipe away the blood...before looking down at them. They were clean...healed. Not even a scar. But no Rite had ever ended as such. Confused, she flicked her ears...wait.

Wait.

Her hands shot to her head. Perched atop them were. two cat ears. She groaned and dispelled her Lionness' Roar regalia, slumping. She looked like a cat girl. How si...si...

"...What the frakk." She screeched, hands back to her head. The ears were still there! The tail! Why were they still there!

"I see they've been a bit mean."

Eclaire was up in a flash, her silver sword leveled at the door. Silhouetted by the waning light, was Takao. She relaxed, sword loosely held at her side, tilting her head. "A-Aunt Takao? Wh...how did you find me? And what do you mean, they?" She frowned, looking upon the small Succubus with confusion. Takao took a few steps inside, looking around. She seemed unperturbed.

"When Xion and I fled Luxuria, I was gravely wounded by a small faction who sought our deaths. These fanatics wanted to slaughter anyone with Consumption...and we were infected." She looked at Eclaire. "While I survived, the damage was done. Consumption found a great foothold, and I was being consumed by the virus itself. When we arrived at the temple, I was slowly dying. I kept this from Xion...because I couldn't see her cry. But we didn't end up there by mistake...we were led." She smiled. "I became a Conduit. I would channel the Goddess of Light so she may interact in what limited fashion I could...but mostly, because she was worried...you see, she didn't start as a Goddess. She ascended due to her deeds and great love for all, and was a beacon of light within the encroaching dark. And as I withered, she gave me time. I got to spend it with Xion, a little longer...but away from the temple, I began to die once more. But it's ok, Eclaire. Don't." She took a step back as the girl nearly rushed forwards. "You see, I wanted to come here. I have a little light left, to give my patron the one thing she desperately wanted. I know Xion will be mad...but one day she can have her revenge...for now, Eclaire..." She closed her eyes. "...she wishes to speak."

Engulfed in a tornado of golden feathers, where the small Takao once stood, was now a tall girl of maybe nineteen, with slightly tanned skin and a mane of golden hair that flowed with the energy that emanated from her. Two golden angel wings slowly came out as she moved closer, hugging Eclaire, arms, wings, everything.

"It's been so long, Clary..."

"M...mom?" She whispered. "Y...you're here?"

The goddess nodded. "I barely can connect to this world, dear. But Takao let me use her. I....it will consume her body, but she would rather go out in a warm light then be consumed. She deserved so much more time...now Clary...oh Clary...I watched your journey for so long...I watched as you struggled, and stumbled...but I always knew you'd find your light. I only wish I could have saved her." She looked...sad. "Clary...know, that I am proud...I love you...and that you have become a wonderful woman." She kissed Eclaire's forehead.

"Mom...don't go...?" She asked, burying her face in the god's shoulder. "We can be a family again...I...I've just wanted those days to return..."

"Shh..." She gently stroked Eclaire's hair. "We can't change the past. Nor can I stay. All I can offer is my love, and my support." She gently petted Eclaire's new ears. "...and, well...I sort of lied. Altriana disagreed, unlike Izanami...but I decided that, well..." She giggled. "I did want a cat of sorts - joking! Joking!" Tightening her hug, she leaned in closer. "I give you a new beginning, Clary. A new day. The strength to move fast, the balance to never lose to yourself in either blood. Is that not why you sought the Lionness' Roar?"

"Y-Yeah..."

The goddess pulled away, looking her over. "I have to go...please...tell Xion, that I miss her...and uh, tell her Takao is sorry." She looked sad. "I couldn't save her...but none of us could. Now go, Eclaire Oathkeeper. You have promises to keep, and a sword to uplift. And remember...even after the darkest of night?"

"...dawn still comes."

With one last smile, the goddess shattered into shards of light, leaving Eclaire alone once more. She slowly stepped outside, to find Reborn, Takao's sword, stabbed before the doorway. But it was not named Reborn any longer...no, the script on it's side bore the true name of the unleashed blade.
"Lightbringer...a fitting name...mom." She took it up, and stored it in her magic armory. Sheathing Shiva, she began to walk.

Ambrosia Forest, Pond

She came upon a pond, smooth as glass. The light twinkled on it, and she knelt down. Her eyes were red, for she had barely stopped crying. She looked at her reflection...then slid the knife out again. Holding her hair tight, she sheared off great lengths of it, letting her pink hair to fall and ripple the pond. Iroh'ku had taught her that in his culture, the cutting of one's hair could mean many things...but the most important, was it symbolizing a new beginning.

As she brushed her hair away, she stood up. "...I am no longer just Eclaire." She whispered. "...some say they aren't that scared little girl...but no...I am." She looked up. "I'll always be the scared girl who wandered for so long...but now...I won't let that fear control me...I won't keep running. Because I have things to protect now...right...Mom?"

Smiling up at the waning sun, she turned and headed out of the forest, the wind blowing past her.

A new day would soon be dawning, and she had a promise to keep. Extending her wings, she took flight. She felt...lighter. Much lighter. Even with the weight of the war and the sorrow of Shiva's death, and now Takao's passing...she could feel the weight of her past...gone.

She flapped and gained altitude. She would mourn Shiva, and Takao, soon. But people needed her, and she, them.

- Lord Raiden, Mystran Encampment -

A connection within the ranks?  The killer's appearance, clothing or otherwise?  This strange connection with Yevgeni Malachite, a name very familiar, though a personage he had not met since being graced by Alexander's court?  All plausible ideas and sound advice and clues, though he wondered about the depth of their observations.  Whether Henry's speculations were superficial or carried great weight, he did not know, but he might as well try to reiterate what he saw.  He concentrated more on the news that Rabiyu had mentioned, especially concerning the stray group of humans she had mentioned.  He snapped out of his unfocused gaze towards the entrance and turned toward her.

"You mentioned this fellow Yevgeni hiring a group of humans in the Flowering Hyssop, a name I know all too well, but that just cannot be.  All of those aboard the airship were accumulated and given residence at my villa.  Counts were taken of the crew numerous times, and they equalled out every time, with the exception of one member who seemingly went rogue in the streets of Mystras.  What made you certain they were human?  And Yevgeni . . . I recognise that name, though the one I remember and the one I am hearing about do not match, and the person who killed Queen Shiva was definitely not him.  The man I saw had ashen skin, a greyish purple, and opulent clothing of white fabric and gold trim.  Once his Feyslayer was broken, he summoned forth a double-bladed weapon of ornate gold with gaudy amethyst to fight with."

Raiden shook his head uncertainly and turned away, stroking his chin in meditation as he paced the open grounds of the tent.  No matter what, he could not fully understand the situation without additional information.

"No, this was not Yevgeni.  He might have had the weapon stolen from my vault, but someone may have usurped the dagger from him in turn.  I need more information to declare him a potential suspect.  He is smarter than this.  Yevgeni would not sic a flamboyant and distinguishable assassin on powerful individuals unless he was certain that he would kill both of us.  He would be much more secretive and taciturn if he ever were to benefit from this, or at least that is what I would have thought of him if he remained the same over the many years since we last conversed."

((I left out the mask part because I was not sure if he had the mask on.  There was nothing referencing it, as far as I remember, during Shiva's death scene.  Also, I am assuming that Nergal was clothed in his usual raiment.  Correct me if this is not the case, Kuni, s'il vous plait.))

- Jari Coriander, Kilkes Seres encampment -

Jari breathed out a sharp gust of an exhale, expecting the worst from the suit of armour, but definitely not what he considered a compliment and, later on, an assent.  The foxchild stood there in shock, his weapon still upright and his little chest huffing and puffing as much air as he could inspire for a few seconds before raising himself proper and sheathing his dagger.

"You?" he remarked, glancing over in Aqua's direction.  It was the young girl that ignored him entirely earlier, but she came to Elia's and Jari's defense, it seemed.  He emitted a fragile smile at the thought.  "Thank you for coming to our aid.  If not for you, I might be a meat pie right now.  Please help our friend up along with me.  I'm feeling a little . . . dizzy at the moment."

His voice no longer held its whimper, and his ears perked up again, though he definitely seemed a little woozy.  This little bout of courage he had felt good.  No, it felt great, and he greatly desired to follow it up with another bout of courage later along the road.  He struggled to keep himself from falling over as he tried to help Elia to her feet.  Even if he seemed like he was normally proportioned, he harboured very little weight, considering his origins, and helping Elia up was difficult.

- Rabiyu and Sifrei - Mystran Encampment -

"And even though it seems impossible, Yevgeni and myself met with these humans. Three of them, two males and one female, mercenaries by the look of it." Rabiyu said to Raiden, "I thought it was strange that they mistook Yevgeni for the Crown Prince, even though Prince Jynn's face is widely known to the dwellers of these lands. There is also the fact that I did not sense any kind of arcane energy around those three. No magic whatsoever. They just asked for job and Yevgeni was happy to oblige. "

Rabiyu closer her eyes and tried to remember what the strange trio looked like. Sifrei, on the other hand, was concerned that these group was apparently unaccounted for.

"If this is true and Yevgeni Malichite used this group to steal the Feyslayer then we should investigate," Sifrei said to Rabiyu, "Don't you think so too, Judge Magister?"

"I have my suspicions. Yevgeni wanted secrecy, that the fact that he wished for that dagger remained unknown, but like Lord Raiden said, that is not proof enough," she said calmly, "The dagger could have been stolen from him, I didn't saw him again after that night when I asked for an audience with Lord Raiden. Nor am I completely sure that Yevgeni actually got the blade."

Both Judges listened to what Raiden had to say, and both agreed that more information was needed to make him a suspect. Rabiyu began to think to the time she had seen Yevgeni on the battlefield.

"I met Yevgeni on the battlefield for a moment. He said that neither your or Shiva's way were correct, but that there was a third option." Rabiyu said,

"And, pray tell, what is that option? What does Yevgeni Malachite think?" Sifrei asked.

"He said that his option would allow the peaceful and good humans a chance at true unity among fey, not a false dream of two worlds living in harmony. But," Rabiyu hesitated for a moment, "but what he said next worries me. He said that should the queen not conform to his ideals, he had means to enforce them."

"Interesting, very interesting," Sifrei said, "It seems that Yevgeni Malachite has plans of his own regarding the feys and humans."

"As you see, Your Lordship, while the act of stealing the feyslayer may not be enough to cast suspicion on Yevgeni, I have reasons to believe there is a connection between what happened to the Frostbearer and him," Rabiyu said while looking at Raiden, "Perhaps this assassin was sent by him, perhaps not, but there is something wrong with Yevgeni, we must keep an eye on him.

Rabiyu remained silent for a moment, thinking about what she could do to learn more about Yevgeni's plans.

"He said that we still had things to discuss. If I am allowed to accompany you to Kilkis Seres it is probable that Yevgeni will ask to see me. Perhaps we could use this chance to learn more, leak a small amount of information regarding our objectives to earn his trust and make him think that I am on his side. This, of course, is up to you, Your Lordship."

Jynn Venas and Bherna- Abode

Bherna spots Jynn heading to his office, and proceeds to follow. Her face was red, mostly around her eyes. It was clear that she got no sleep, and was traumatized by the announcement of Shiva's death.

She follows her father into the office and finally says something to him. "So what happens now?" Jynn turns, but seems to have known he was being followed. He kneels down and puts a hand on her shoulder. He went straight to the point. "Well........ I have to take grandmother's place as the next monarch of this world. It will be a difficult adjustment, but it must be done." He brings Bherna close to him for a grieving embrace. Bherna wipes off any remaining tears and backs up. "Dad, do you remember that day you told me about that human girl? Who has been turned into a dog?" Jynn raised an eyebrow. "Y.......yeah? Why?" Bherna runs past him and towards the private library.

It was crammed with books on mathematics, spells, history, and certain knowledge. Almost every single book is a copy of all books from the Kilkes Seres castle. If there was a book that was missing from the castle, Jynn most likely had a copy here. And some books were given to Jynn for safekeeping, containing content that not even Raiden can get his hands on. However, due to Jynn constantly being on the move lately, he has never had the time to study them all. Bherna hands her father a book titled Mysterious Powers and Objects. Jynn was obviously suspicious of Bherna. "Why have you been rummaging through my stuff?" Bherna backs up in guilt, but was quick to answer. "I found the way to help her....... I don't want someone to suffer for the rest of their lives...." She opens the book and locates the page containing said information. Jynn begins to read the page. Bherna watches as he does, but notices as he reads, his eyes widen, and begins grabbing the book's sides.

He then stands up with the book in his hands. He was obviously hooked onto the contents of the page. "Bherna......... this........ this is incredible." He looks directly at her and puts his hand on her shoulder. "Thanks to your curious little mind, we can make peace with the humans!" Bherna was becoming extremely excited, as was Jynn, but the excitement was short lived as Jynn hastily gets ready. "Unfortunately, I must make haste. I can't risk Yevgeni causing any trouble." Bherna pulls on his arm to try to slow him down. She wanted to be involved. "Dad, I want to go too!" But the prince advises her to stay. "No. It's too dangerous. I don't want to lose another family member." But Bherna insists. "No! I'm coming with you! Maybe the human king could use some mutual understanding. You know what it's like to be a father, so maybe it will make him feel better or something." Jynn pauses. The risk of Bherna getting hurt are extremely high, but at the same time, prehaps she was right. Alderon is a father, just like Jynn. He takes some time to think it through, before finally turning to her with a decision. "Alright. But you are to stay by my side at all costs. If I tell you to run, you WILL get on Melstrome's back, and fly far away from the position as you can, do you understand?" His daughter nods in agreement.

Jynn makes haste, packing everything he needs, including the book, and heads outside with Bherna in tow. He tells Typhon and Jeremy his intensions of leaving immediately. "Forget the bird. We're leaving now."

~Aqua: At the Camp, Kilkis Seres: Talking to Elia and Jari~
Aqua gave him a weak smile back. “Well, I’m glad no one got badly hurt.” She helped Elia up as well. “May I inquire why that happened? I want to prevent another fight, enough died already and I’d hate to see more die because of a verbal conflict going wrong. That and well he was acting very off kilter….maybe even insane.” She finished nervously. She gave a nervous laugh. “Ah, maybe that last bit was off color a tad, I’m sorry. I’m probably over-worrying again!” She shook her head lightly.

She still wasn’t good with confrontations of any kind it seemed. So much for her training helping her any, all the training wouldn’t matter if a simple fight left her wanting to flee into the woods. She needed to steady her nerves again it seemed before she said anything else idiotic. “Off to one of the medical tents, I assume.” She said as she wanted to ease the mood somewhat.

- Typhon - The Last Cyph - Jynn's abode -

With the short time Jynn went to his office, Typhon decided to rest a bit, even though he was already fully rested. Leaning against a wall as he waited for the bird to come back, Typhon knew he still wasn't truly welcome there, even if Jynn said so, the servants around the locale said otherwise, still, as long as they didn't bother him he'd be fine, he just wanted to gaze off into the distance and put his mind at ease.

Of course he couldn't do that, as Jynn came walking out alongside his daughter, the conviction in the boy's voice was enough to make Typhon lazily push himself off the wall as he waved towards Bherna in a friendly gesture. "Alright then. Lead the way Prince." Typhon spoke, following him.

- Mikhail - The Witcher - With Rhaedyn -

As they crossed the forest, he could feel the atmosphere shift slowly as they walked...they were truly getting closer to the murder scene.

"I can feel the atmosphere of the act from here, lets go." Mikhail commented.

- Henry - The Dreadnought - Raiden's Tent -

"Not to be the pessimistic guy here, but this so called 'Third Option' he proposed screams bloody murder all over for me." Henry spoke, without any pause, serious as he folded his arms. He had to admit, he was surprised that Yevgeni would go to such lenghts for this, though to be fair , the man did seem like a grade A snake who would backstab even his own mother if given the chance. Even if he vouched for him in the past.

"Think about it, if he went as far as to criticize both Raiden and Shiva and say a third option was in play...then it all lines up perfectly, Shiva's death would give him the perfect lee way with the kingdom, if he is what you say he is, then he surely has taken a position of power after her death." Henry commented with a sequence of educated guesses, whether they were right or not he'd find out in the future, but this was his strain of thought. "It all adds up to his 'third option' agenda".

Henry then stood silent for a few seconds, thinking about the descriptions of the Assassin Raiden offered. Before something snapped in his memory and he remembered his earlier battle, during the skirmish between the armies, with the strange man that attacked him. It had to be.

"Flamboyant...huh? I believe i've met this assassin you speak off during the war, he attacked me, we fought for a bit, and he retreated, but not before saying these exact words to me." Henry spoke, with a blank expression. "Find me after the dust settles...we have much to discuss." Henry spoke plainly and truthfuly. Before he looked at Rabiyu and Sifrei.

"If he is connected with Yevgeni, then I can use that to draw him out. I'd be a lot less suspicious considering this Yevgeni and I have met before and are on neutral terms. And the assassin aknowledged me on top of that." Henry proposed, it made sense in his head, and he hoped they'd agree.

'Aren't you making a lot of guesses?'

'Guesses is what most investigators have to do to find the culprits'

'Only bad ones, and you're not an investigator at all.'

'Shush, you let me dream.'

- Ivany -  THe Mad Alchemist - With Meksis -

Ivany was taken aback at everything that just happened in front of her, not only did Meksis manage to suppress whatever troubled him, but he now had a way to save Maxis. This pleased Ivany, but her hopes were shot down the moment Meksis told her the possibility of Maxis coming after her.

"If Maxis comes for me then im afraid even if I protect or secure myself there won't be anything I can do;" Ivany commented, with a depressed tone for a bit.

"Best of luck to you Meksis, and please, bring Maxis back, he deserves better than this." Ivany pleaded for Meksis as the armor left

"I cannot abandon my position, I have a duty I promised to Shiva and I intend to follow it through. But i'l be fine, or at least i'l try to." Ivany comforted Meksis's worried thoughts in her own way. Before walking over to a few potions on a table a bit to the right of the tent.

"Now Go!, Maxis needs you!" Ivany shouted at Meksis.

- Soren Monroe, the Penitent Traitor - Kilkis Campsite -

Before Yevgeni and Soren could depart to resume their discussion, someone called out to them, a voice familiar to Soren and yet, something was off...about Maxis, Shiva's most faithful servant, the original Living Armour. Maxis addressed them both by name, but when he uttered Sorens, a chill was sent down his spine and he had to resist the urge to shiver...out of all the people in Kilkis Seres, Maxis was surely the one who felt his betrayal the hardest and deepest, particularly after Shiva's murder.

"If you must know, Maxis...me and Yevgeni were planning on having a little chat over some dinner. He offered, I accepted." Soren swallowed his dread and responded to Maxis's question, cupcake and water still in hand, but he tried to be curt and calm with him, despite feeling something was definitely wrong with Maxis. "Did, you need him for something in particular? Or is it a personal matter? I'll step aside if you want." He added, hoping to avoid a confrontation.

- Meksis, the Chaperone, Armour of Light - Ivany's Tent -

Meksis nodded in reply to Ivany's words, releasing her shoulders to allow her to proceed to her potions. "I will do all I can, Ivany...I promise. Farewell." With that, Meksis swiftly departed Ivany's Tent, his fists clenched and the air around him feeling less stifled. He knew it was only a matter of time before Maxis totally lost control and went on a rampage across the land, bringing chaos and terror to an already distressed Overworld and its people so Meksis had to act quickly. Yet, he had no idea where Maxis was, so he just ran out toward the Campsite, stopping between Ivany's Tent and it before simply yelling:

"Maxis! Where are you!?"

But the reply he received was concerning, as a voice in the back of his mind answered...

"And what if you do find him, Meksis? Will you free him of his torment, one way of another...?"

"You...I will save him, not kill him, fiend."

"You might not have a choice, brother."

"You are not my brother! Not by blood or anything else!"

"But you and I, we are much the same, you see. Our dedication, our perseverance? Our honour?"

"You have no honour! We are nothing alike, you are but a shadow of me..."

"I'm not some glorified parasite, you know...do not deny who I am. Who we are, Meksis."

"WE ARE NOT THE SAME!"

"No...we are different. But make no mistake..."

Suddenly, a violet-tinged shadow realm formed around Meksis, overlapping reality as a murky figure approached him from said shadows, its form becoming clearer and clearer as it approached, freezing Meksis with shock as it finally spoke.

"We are Meksis now. And only together, can this madness be put to an end."

A wraith-form of Meksis the Defiled stood before Meksis the Chaperone, the same as him, yet with the same dark energies pouring from the armour along with it being a ghost-like, translucent purple as it was not a physical body. Only Meksis and those with True Sight could see the wraith, but regardless, it only shook Meksis as he realized just how powerful his Dark Side had become.

"I will help you, but we must work together on this, truly...you cannot deny that this was meant to be. The union of Light and Dark, no?"

"I...I cannot..." The Wraith placed a hand upon his shoulder, leaning to the side as he spoke softly.

"Yes we can. You may not like me, but our powers combined may be enough to stop that devil, an armour housing the energies of a Chaos God. We can settle our little property dispute afterwards, whether you go the route of Union of Light and Dark or simply purging me is up to you...but right now, everything is in danger as long as he roams the Overworld."

"Hmm...reasonable...too reasonable. You're trying to emulate me as to appeal to my compassion...it's working, but not for you." Meksis looked his mirror self dead in the eyes before resuming. "I do this for Maxis. And the Overworld...but I will stand with you. For now. Any wrong step or action and this is over...Meksis."

The dark Wraith seemed to smile, as he faded away back into Meksis's mind, their energies seeming to calm down as Meksis mentally dispelled the protective spell he had put upon himself to allow them both to flow freely around his body. A deep breath later and Meksis was marching toward the Kilkis Campsite, hoping to find Maxis sooner rather than later.

"Understood...Meksis."

--Yev Malachite -- Kilkis Seres Campsite--

The blond watched as Soren went through a myriad of emotions while discussing the late queen.  He was indeed passionate about his role in serving her, even in death.  Such an admirable trait, Yev thought, his expression relaxing some.  If only we could all be so loyal.

"Forgive me, Soren.  It is ill of me to insinuate anything.  I can merely look at all of the pieces to the puzzle and try to place them together in a manner to which they align, though this is not a very good practice.  I am intrigued, however, to know what makes you think Raiden is incapable of her assassination.  Not that I wish to argue, but rather out of curiosity."

It was shortly thereafter that Soren admitted to being hungry, to which Yevgeni responded to by rising from his seat.

"But of course, let us continue this conversation over a meal.  If you will follow me--"

He was unable to continue, however, when a very mad Maxis graced them with his presence.  He did indeed expect Maxis to seek him out, though admittedly not this soon.

"Maxis," Yevgeni greeted, tone pleasant.  "Yes, we must speak, though presently I am preoccupied.  I must feed Sir Soren so that he doesn't perish before our eyes.  Where might I find you once we are finished?"

Neither fey had offered for Maxis to join them, and Yev preferred to continue on that note.  He would need his full concentration on Maxis when he spoke with him.  The enchanted suit of armor was more than dedicated to Shiva, and he would need to be especially cautious if he wanted to keep his lovely head attached to his shoulders.

--Elia Cabret -- Kilkis Seres campgrounds--

Elia gasped for breath after Maxis released her neck from his grasp, and everything following shortly thereafter passed by in a blur.  She couldn't recall Jari's words, nor the fact that Aqua had approached.  She remained sitting there, crippled on the ground, both hands clutching her neck as her body shook with fear.

What had happened to Maxis?  The kind and loyal servant to Queen Shiva never would've reacted the way that he just did.  The thought made her start to cry, though this perhaps confused both of her companions that continued to tend to her.

Both Jari and Aqua helped her to her feet, to which she aided by standing up on wobbly legs.  "I'm fine, really," Elia insisted when a healer's tent was mentioned.  "Just a little shaken up, is all."

It was then that she processed Aqua standing there, though she didn't have the strength nor gumption to shoo her away.  "What brings you here, Aqua?" she asked, tone hesitant.  "I thought you were busy chasing Yev's coattails."

--Everyth Castanova -- Mystras Campsite--

The raven-haired woman smiled slyly in response to Mariel's question.  "Wouldn't you like to know?" she answered, a question with a question.

She half-circled around the angel, choosing her words carefully before continuing.  "In truth, though, I would like to know whom I'm guarding myself.  I have been hired to guard one, but I find myself guarding another.  Should I ever have to choose between the two I'm not so sure that I know which one I would guard.  I do not suppose you have ever found yourself in such a predicament?"

A sigh escaped Everyth as she glanced around.  The meeting with Raiden was over, and already everyone began to disperse.  "But I suppose I am keeping you.  I'm sure an angel such as yourself probably has more angelic or holy things to do than to speak with a witch like me, I guess."

She nearly winced at the title she referred to herself as, one that was so commonly used for her in the World Below, but she had grown accustomed to hearing it.  It wouldn't surprise her if Mariel thought the same of her.

- Arthur - The Lightning Knight - Mystras Campground -
Arthur returned back to the main camp, constantly sniffing himself to make sure that he hadn't brought the stench of death along with him from before. Ever since the announcement, the soldiers and civilians alike simply returned to their 'normal' routines until further orders. Groups made rounds around the perimeter. Soldiers dressed in white from top to bottom took shifts to explore the battlefield for anyone, or anything that still needed to be recovered. The entire aura of the place was filled with dread, even when many tried to lighten the situation up with conversations and the sort. Everyone tried to look for something to do. Something to get their minds busy. Arthur was no exception. He only paused when he noticed a large traffic of people walking back and forth in a specific area of the camp, right around the middle. As he got closer he realized that they were all surrounding a large tree. It was isolated from the forest, a large, old stone base surrounding it as old stone benches surrounded it on four sides. As Arthur reached closer to the tree, he realized that everyone was hanging different things on it. Some had written stuff on paper or wood before hanging it on one of the branches. Others were making makeshift decorations of pieces of cloth or even personal items before hanging them on the branches. Soldiers and civilians alike helped each other reach the higher branches, the tree quickly gaining colors of all kinds. "Do you want to add a wish?" Arthur looked up, turning his attention to a young man standing by. His uniform spoke that he was a monk of sorts, and his gentle gaze could make any soldier feel at ease. "A wish?" Arthur asked. "Yes. It's...a little tradition sometimes done in festivals. We thought doing it now would help bring up the morale." The man explained as he gestured to the tree. "People hang something to decorate the tree. Some write their wishes on paper and hang them on the branches. Other whisper their wishes into items and do the same. The point of it is for you to hang a wish you want to come true. As long as the tree stands, and your wish stands, you have a chance for your wish to come true. Most of it is just tradition. It gives people hope, in dark times, and inspires them to make their wish true themselves." The young man said, quickly offering Arthur a piece of paper and pen. "Well? Would you like to make a wish?" He asked. Arthur thought for a moment, before nodding and taking the items from the monk. He thought for a while before quickly scribbling down his wish. He followed the lead of the others, climbing the benches to reach one of the higher branches and hanging his wish with the rest.

'I wish to go home.'

- Helios - The Shapeshifter - /w Aura - Napping nearby the Mystras Camp -
The nap under the sun was definitely something needed. No stress of the crowded tents. No strong stenches of blood or death. Just the sound of the breeze against the branches and the scent of flowers and fruit. The sweet scent brought sweet dreams, or memories.

The royal castle of Kilkis Seres was one of the most fortified and secure place within the Overworld. The capital and residence of the royal family, as well as the base of their alliances and all political decisions meant that there was nothing spared to make sure that everything was safe. But they failed to count on the smaller intruders. Those which were welcome among the royal garden and the castle balconies and windows. Whether they be rabbits or small rodents or birds, one would pay no mind. Which meant Helios was quick to find a way to the Royal Library. He flew right towards one of the high windows, before transforming into a rodent, using his tail to flick the lock of the window open. He gently opened the window before allowing himself to drop right in, transforming into his true form as he landed silently on the marble floor. The Royal library had many scriptures and books that would usually not be allowed to be viewed by the public eye. The most recent and rare writings were quick to be brought to such a place when it would take a while to reach other places. Helios was quick to decide he would do his readings here when he could. He always waited when no one was around, or when there were so little people that his presence could easily be avoided among the large room. He always made sure to be quiet, and to leave everything as when he found it. He was quick to begin his research, searching for books to copy notes from. He would spend hours on end, always careful, always alert. Part of him promised himself that he would one day simply stop coming around before he was caught by someone, but he always returned with more questions that needed answering. One day he sat in the very back, copying notes to his weathered down notebook, when the sounds of the library door opening caught his attention. They opened briefly before closing just as quick, the sound of footsteps echoing in the hall as someone made themselves comfortable in the hall. Helios rose from his place, quickly changing into the shape of a cat as he quietly stalked towards the person, hoping to see their face. This one he had seen before, but hadn't interacted before. A young woman, whose beauty matched her wit, with hair as dark as the wings of a raven. She always came with company, and sometimes was annoyed by some elven man, but this time she was alone. He went for it, deciding to have fun. He waited for her to sit back at the table before hurrying over, jumping right on it with a light purr, certainly catching her by surprise. "Where did you come from?" Helios stepped closer, purring as she petted his head. "I didn't know cats were allowed in here. Are you the royal mouse trapper?" She joked, smiling as she scratched behind his ear. "What's your name? I'm Arianna." She spoke, finally letting go before returning to her studies. Helios smiled, chuckling to himself. "Hi, Arianna...I'm Helios." He would never forget the look on her face, nor the day he met her.

Jynn Venas and Bherna-Heading out to the battlefield

It appears everyone was set to go, and Jynn immediately retrieves Melstrome and throws Bherna aboard. He takes a second to remind her of the situation. "Now listen to me. Someone dangerous is lurking about out there, so I want you to stay by my side at all costs." Bherna nods. "I understand." Jynn climbs aboard and almost squeezes Mel forward, but not before being stopped by one of his servants. "Your majesty! I think you'll be needing this." In his hands lies Jynn's double edged sword of darkness, La Justicerè. The prince takes the blade. "Ah yes, thank you." Attaching it to his belt, he faces back to his destination. He quietly thinks to himself. This plan of his was risky. Sure, there will be suspicions, but with Jynn's reputation on his side, things will probably work out, one way or another. He puts a fist on his chest. Mother, if you're watching, I know what I'm doing is something you are not sure about. But I hope in the long run, I will make you proud. I will not carry vengeance or spite with me, nor shall I be consumed by these feelings. He is finally ready to go. "You got the book, Bherna?" The girl holds on to it tightly. Jynn faces back towards Typhon and Jeremy. "Let's go!" Mel spreads his wings and quickly takes off, gliding down the mountain range.
