Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted November 14, 2017 (edited) - Henry - The Dreadnought - In the Presence of an almighty being - Henry's spine chilled solid as he noticed the temperature changing...and the presence of an aura he, nor Ariana had ever felt before. A being they had no chance of even getting near at that ammount of power, her voice echoed in his head, both the fact it made total sense...and hit him very close to home. No matter where he looked, he could not spot the figure, as it spoke behind him and vanished every time. It was then he felt it exactly behind him, speaking of him and his guilt...his burdens...and Ariana. "What the-" Henry muttered as he spun around, only to find nothing there. Only for the being to appear a few steps in front of him, forcing him to step back in surprise. He was in awe at the woman's appearance, hair like flame, but he was mostly distracted by the horns, as well as the smooth porcelain mask covering her face. 'This aura...its too powerful.' 'I've never...seen such a powerful one...' 'Ok, trying to not freak out' It was then the woman asked for his name...and the name of his friend. all the while introducing herself, "Judge?" Henry asked in surprise. He knew this world was full of secrets and other beings, but not of this magnitude. Henry took a moment to regain his composure as he looked back at her eyes, not breaking said contact. "H-Henry, thats my name....and for my friend...you must mean the one that dwell inside of me, Ariana" Henry replied to her. He grit his teeth and took a deep breath, managing the courage to ask a question. As stupid as doing so would be. "What, business...do you have with me, Melinare? You're not after my death, because if you were i'd be dead by now." Henry asked her a direct question. He knew he did not equal even a sliver of her power. But he was still the stubborn bastard as always. His legs were paralyzed, both in fear and under the pressure of the woman's aura. Elrandir 783 Posted November 14, 2017 - Mielinare - A.K.A. Valdra, The Incandescent - With Henry and Ariana -Ah, the human was scared of her, that was not good, or perhaps it was, Mielinare didn't had a preferance."That is a surprise Ariana, for I have seen others such as I," she said to Ariana, "ages ago, before you were even born. And yes, judge, as in one who enforces the law, Henry. Perhaps you know others who hold the title of judge. The Elf Rabiyu and the Archangel Sifrei are such examples."Oh yeah, those two were somewhere near, Mielinare could feel Sifrei close and Rabiyu, well, she cold feel the use of the rune around the city of Mystras, locating her would be an easy task if she hijacked the power of the rune."There is no need to rush child, death will come when the Goddess of Death deems you are ready to be in her embrace and cross over into the Elysian Fields. As for why I am here today," she said as she kept looking at Henry, "I was curious about the situation. You see, back in the north, Queen Leviathan is worried, for both the outcome of the war, and the fate of her long lost friend, the Frostbearer. We judges were supposed to be on stand by just in case, but I came to make a quick visit to my comrades."That was true, in a sense, she came to have a quick chat with the Elf who was currently fighting with her inner feelings, but on her way there she felt Henry and Ariana."I will admit that I felt your inner conflict Henry, and I decided to come and see for myself. Imagine my surprise when I found out that you, and the woman you were with a moment ago, have the essence of a fey inside you, effectively making both of you hybrids," Mielinare said calmly, her tone was that of slight amisement, "although i fear that humans were not meant to have the essence of a fey inside, the arcane energy is gone from humanity, giving the human body just a fraction of arcane energy will give way to some side effects, which I am sure, you already know about."The young looking Fire Nymph turned her head to look towards the way Everyth went, the woman's soul looked young, for a human, but her body did not match that soul."You must let go of the feelings that weigh you down, child. Only then you will understand your place in the world. Doubt, Hate, Fear, Anger, do not give in to those emotions, it will only lead you to a premature death," she said, "I am sure that your death would break the hearts of your friends. So, tell me Henry, what are you really afraid of? Why do you insist on punishing yourself for things that were beyond you control."
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted November 14, 2017 (edited) - Henry - The Dreadnought - Talking with Valdra - The woman spoke in cryptic ways, speaking of a goddess of death he did not know of, maybe it was the Fey's perception of death or something, he didn't quite know 'Did she just...' 'Speak with me?' As Mielinare spoke about the compostion of Henry and Everyth's bodies not being fit to wield the arcane. Having even a fraction of arcane energy would cause serious side effects, Henry knew this all too well. Her speech about the arcane prompted Henry to look at his hands. "Its true, my body is not the same anymore after the infusion of the arcane magic." The woman then began to speak about Henry's turmoil, telling him to let go of the hate, anger, fear and doubt. Let go of these feelings...else face a premature death, these words confused Henry, as he did not know how he could let go of such things...could he truly forgive himself for what he's done? "My failures always catch up to me...I was in control, of most. I have done...horrible things, Mielinare, I have killed innocents under order from my king, I have razed villages to the ground, I have slain countless people, ruined countless families, with my own two hands, stained with the blood of innocents." Henry began to speak, with a sorrowful and downright depressive tone. "The moment I realized what I was doing, it was too late. I had already killed too many. I ran, defected. my one redeeming act, was in a act of pure desperation, killing Ariana in her prison cell. setting her free from the tortures my kingdom had beseeched upon her, I thought I had done something good. But I was wrong..." Henry's hands then began to glow a faint, red light. "But her soul was absorbed into my body...and she is stuck within me, within this murderer's body." Henry spoke, dropping down his hands to his waist and lowering his head. 'Henry...' Ariana spoke in his mind. Henry was feeling like his heart was being tore out saying all of this, he did not want to relive those moments, even if for a second. He closed his hands into fists, "What am I afraid of? many things in fact. losing the ones I care about, the ones that Ariana cares about. Failing my people, not being able to fulfill the promise I made to my sister, that I would protect them all." Henry spoke as he started to raise his head to look at Mielinare's eyes. "But those are all elaborate lies. Aren't they?" Ariana spoke, through Henry, making sure even Mielinare could hear her voice. "Yes, they are. what im truly afraid of, is being powerless, to help others, being powerless to save my world from its doom, being so weak I could not even match the opponent I faced." Henry continued, moving his hand to his chest, where the wound laid under bandages. "But I have been powerless to protect my friends. Who I dragged into this mess, one of them died today, and I can't stop blaming myself that I had brought him here, to this world. And could not protect him!" Henry spoke, his voice beginning to crack as a single tear rolled down his eyes. "I don't have anything but failures to haunt me Mielinara." Henry finished. "How am I to understand my place in this world...if all I do is destroy everything I touch?". Edited November 14, 2017 by Scrapmaster
Elrandir 783 Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) - Mielinare - A.K.A. Valdra, The Incandescent - With Henry and Ariana - Mielinare quietly listened to everything Henry and Ariana had to say. It seemed that the young human's afflictions ran more deeply than she thought. "Everyone in this world, both above and below, have failures behind them, and just like you, they also have done terrible things," she said to Henry, "Let me give you an example." The Fire Nymph turned around, she was looking towards the tents, to one specifically, the one where the archangel judge was. "My two associates that are currently here have made mistakes in their beginnings. Take the Archangel for example, he was one of many who taught humans the ways of the arcane millennia ago, you could say that he was the catalyst that made your ancestors wish to conquer this world, so this outcome is part of the choice he made," Mielinare said before turning around, "And the Elf? Did you know that she is missing fifty years worth of memories? Those were dark times for her and those around, she was raised as an elf of the light while actually being born as one of the Dark Elves. She wished to destroy everything in her path and, by some divine prank, she erased hundreds of feys from the aristocratic sector in the Imperial City. She doesn't remember now, but she feels the urge to help those who, in her eyes, can't defend themselves." Mielinare raised her hand and slowly took off the mask, her face was very young looking and flawless, almost like a model from a painting from the human world, something that people would consider impossible to withness. "Do not try to hold all that weight on your own, or it will crush you sooner or later, no matter how strong you think you are. You want to help others, but do not want to be helped. You want to save your world, but you try to do it all alone," she said calmly, "You need to trust those around you Henry, because you alone do not possess the power to change the world, no matter what you think, but with the help of your friends anything is possible, they will allow you to see the way. It is true that one of them died today, but I assure you that he is in a good place now." The Nymph's eyes were focused on the human, like she was staring right into his very soul, and perhaps also looking at Ariana. "Learn from your mistakes child, If you fall, get up and try it again. If you realize that you can't succeed on your own, then ask your friends for help, for they will be there to help you succeed in that which you failed alone," Mielinare said, "It seems that we spend out entire lives trying to rewrite the past, Henry. We wonder if we can't heal the present, and we're frightened of eventually living in a broken future." The woman waved her hand and a faint glowing arcane circle with multiple different runes inside appeared on the ground. "If you enter this circle it will give your friend a temporary existance in the material plane," she said, "I am sure that settling the things that happenede between the two of you will give you some peace. Perhaps that way you can move forwards once again." Edited November 15, 2017 by Elrandir
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted November 17, 2017 - Henry - The Dreadnought - With Mielinare - Mielinare's words rang true on Henry's ears, they pierced his chest like arrows of truth, erasing all lies he was making up. He guessed as much that Sifrei and Rabyiu had some dark past, but Rabiyu's past seemed even worse than his. "And what if those memories of her comes back? Won't she pose a threat to everyone?" Henry asked, now concerned with Rabyiu's state. But before he could finish his question Mielinare spoke even more to him, about relying on others, which in truth, he wasn't relying on friends as much, that was true. 'Friends...I've been blind to them..." He thought. "I...will.." Henry muttered as Mielinare made a magic circle on the ground, and spoke to him about Ariana, that if he stepped into the circle, she would gain a temporary material existence. Henry simply nodded, and stepped onto the circle. A few seconds after stepping onto the circle, a dark purple aura began to surround Henry, as a spectral version of Ariana appeared in front of him. Henry was going to react, but he felt the stinging pain of his mutations...without Ariana there to control them. Henry gritted his teeth as his skin shifted itself. As he wished to speak with her. "I did not want you to end up like this, trapped inside me." He spoke, sounding regretful for her situation To Which Ariana let out a small chuckle. "You do not need to apologize for that Henry...After all, I chose to posess you with what little remained of my magic." Ariana explained. "The moment your knife pierced my stomach, I used up all my remaining life force to transport my life energy and spirit into you. Albeit I could only transport a fragment of it." She spoke warmly to him. "I see, but still, you don't deserve to be...guh!" Henry was interrupted by the pain he felt. The moment Ariana left his body, his mutations began to go haywire. Shifting his skin and deteriorating his life force, the shock alone could kill a normal human. "You don't deserve to be stuck with me, you deserve to be free." Henry spoke to her. "Henry...the moment the humans, with the help of someone of dark magic had captured me, I knew my soul would never be free. I'd say living inside you is more freedom than what they had in store for me..." Ariana explained her thoughts as Henry just nodded. "Midnea...She's the one who left you in that state?" Henry asked her, a question he never bothered to ask her before. "If that is her name...then yes, it was her. Who did this to me." The answered his question. "I only ask that you forgive me...on behalf of the humans." Was all Henry could ask of her. To Which she simply nodded and smilled. As he approached him. But before she could touch his chest, Henry stagged into his knees from the pain. Much to Ariana's surprise and worry. She kneeled as well, placing her hands on Henry's shoulders. "I forgive you, Henry. I know there are humans that aren't like them, and I admire your willpower in wishing to save your world from its demise...but as She said, you cannot...weight yourself down. I'l lend you my help, together we can achieve things not even the feys can achieve." Ariana spoke as she transported herself back to Henry. Immediately stopping the pain and reverting his body's mutations. A moment of silence plagued the air as Henry slowly got up, to look at Melinare. "Thank you..." Henry spoke, sounding genuinely grateful for the mysterious woman's help. "I won't keep you from your judges anymroe. Just that after all of this is over. If im able to travel to the north, I'd like to meet you again. I have to give a proper thank you. Other than just here, middle of the night." Henry spoke to her in a kindhearted tone, back to his normal self. "And if you ever need help, call upon me, not that you'l need it, but just in case...you don't mind help from a human." Henry vowed grattitude to the mysterious woman.
Elrandir 783 Posted November 17, 2017 (edited) - Mielinare - A.K.A. Valdra, The Incandescent - With Henry and Ariana -Apparently Henry understood the risks of the Elf being able to regain her memories, which was indeed a problem, one Mielinare was prepared for. "Worry not for the Elf's fate, Henry, she is destined to seek help when the time comes, maybe today, or tomorrow, or in a thousand years," She said cryptically, "she may not fully understand what is happening, but she is a smart woman." The Nymph was glad that the human agreed to face against his past, which came in the form of what he had done to Ariana. Even with Henry's mutations going haywire she could sense their emotions, their bond growing, giving way to new strength. Countless humans, fey, and races long gone were like that, often forgetting the importance of relying on others. Once Ariana went back inside Henry's body his mutations reverted back to normal, the young human then thanked her for the help. "You're welcome dear, and it is a date. When all of this is over and if you wish to remain in Caligo instead of these lands then ask the Elf or the Archangel, they will show you the way," Mielinare said while smiling slightly, "And thrust me, even someone like me needs help from time to time, I am not all-powerful either after all. Have a good night Henry, and never forget what you learned this night. Ariana, take care of him, and you Henry, take care of her. The arcane can do things that not even a soul can handle, she is not safe from harm in the Orverworld." The Fire Nymph put her mask on and bowed as a sign of respect, she then turned around and began to walk towards the city, her body slowly getting engulfed in flames as she rose from the ground and into the sky, once at a reasonable distance from the ground the flames formed the silhouette of a dragon for a moment before suddenly moving in the direction of Mystras, the form of the dragon quickly disappearing, the flame now looked like a shooting star flying through the sky. - Rabiyu - At the roof of Raiden's Villa -The night had been calm until now, nothing worth happening around or outside the city, that didn't mean that everything was going alright for the Northern Elf, her mind, while mostly calm and focused, was trying to sway her into giving in to her urge for combat, there was something lurking inside her, something dark and uncaring for the suffering of others, something that was hidden behind the wall of her lost memories. "It is unlike you to be this troubled, Sapling, and yet there is something bothering you right now," a familiar voice said in the ancient tongue of the dragons, "are you in need of someone who listen to your woes?" The Voice of the almighty Last Great Drake sounded behind her, she would turn around to greet her friend and mentor, but she knew better, she was not going to stop with her current duties. "It is a surprise to see you here Valdra, is there a reason for that? it is not often that you leave Caligo," Rabiyu replied in the same tongue, "I think our report was more than-" "I'm glad to see that you managed to retain some amount of control, not even the temptation of using forbidden spells was enough," Valdra said, "but your urges are something that you must face, eventually." " Valdra...I wanted to turn everyone into stone...to turn them all into ashes...I do not know what is going on inside my mind, there is something asking me to let it out, to unleash my true potential," she said, "but if my potential comes from the suffering of others then...is it worth it?""We all have a side of us we wish never existed, Sapling. What is it that you want to do from now?" "I want to keep protecting my former home...even when most of the people fear me. I want to know why, but I'm afraid that if I recover my memories something bad will happen. Maybe one day will come when I will be ready to face that which lies behind the wall, but I do not think that time is now." "You are syoung Eliltari, but you still understand that you can't run from your problems forever, and for feys that is a long time. You must steel your resolve, focus on the task at hand, and once this is over, search for the answers you are looking for. I need to return, but I will be waiting for your return, Sifrei's too." The presence of Valdra disappeared as suddenly as it appeared, leaving the Elf to ponder the true reason for the Dragon's visit. Valdra managed to help her find some amount of peace, the question was, how long until she had to face her past? Edited November 17, 2017 by Elrandir
Vaude 536 Posted November 17, 2017 (edited) - Jari Coriander, on the outskirts of Kilkes Seres' camp - Jari woke up in a fit of startlement from his unknown assailant, and if he weren't tethered down by a very tight-fitting Elia suit he would have bounced to his feet and ran clean off. Instead, he frightfully struggled against his bonds with great difficulty for a few seconds until recognition kicked in. "Wait, Elia?" he intoned, the words slung from his mouth in a slightly slurred and monotonous fashion. He relaxed his shoulders, and no longer did his heart threaten to beat through both of their ribcages and come out the other side of the fairy. He listened to her soft, melodic voice and was assured it was definitely Elia. "I was scared that I lost you too," he responded in turn, feeling emotions come into play within him as well. Thoughts of Morana sprang up in the fuzziness in his brain -- unwelcome thoughts of her on the battlefield around the time of her death. He did not say much more. Instead, he cried into the dirt, the newly wet soil clinging to his face. - Raleigh Marin, Mystran camp in the healing tents - Raleigh was a face in the crowd again, her robe and paper armour removed and replaced with a spare change of clothes that were more befitting of a middle-class man than a woman of her era. A stout shirt and men's trousers with one leg rolled up to allow a bandage rested on her shoulders and hip, and a ragged belt that clearly saw better days completed the ensemble. None of them seemed to match the other, but they were clean of blood and sweat, so she did not mind. She drifted from person to person, trying her best to avoid gazes. She hated death, and even though death was the trade of an assassin she never was around it for long in her adventures. Some of these people, regardless of the skill of the healers, had minutes or even hours to live, but much to her relief she did not find Curvis among the injured or deceased. An exploration gig turned within a week or two into a full-scale battle. I'm willing to bet that this has never been in the history books of man or fae, she thought to herself, slipping past the bodies of a deeply weeping individual and someone who passed on. I hope this is never repeated, too. This is too horrible. In the end, she caught some familiar sights, first the young fae from the feast in the World Below (Helios), and next Draksis of the guards, and next still King Alderon himself, all within a stone's throw away from each other. She closed the distance and wordlessly listened in, looking over the king's wounds grimly every now and again in worry. If he died, who would give her her paycheck? Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted November 18, 2017 - Meksis, Armour of Light, The Chaperone - Camp Outskirts with Shiva - Quickly shaking off his exhaustion to recompose himself, Meksis reciprocated Shiva's sign of respect with a bow of his own as he listened to her answer, though it did not bring him any respite knowing she was to meet with Lord Raiden, their most recent enemy in war. "Your highness, begging your pardon but...you are certain it is wise to meet with Raiden alone? He started all of this madness with the severance of all contact a long time ago now. Maxis mentioned this to me when I awoke...my point of concern is that he might try something. I won't stop you, far from it, I'm just...suggesting caution, despite your connection with my brother in armour." Meksis confided, then recalled why he had wanted to see her in the first place, soon enough he straightened up and spoke again. "If I also may, just one more thing...it's about Soren Monroe." Meksis then sighed, knowing this would be difficult. "I, believe you can trust the man. I took him to the Campgrounds myself and talked with him for a long time, extensively so..." The armour stepped forward, gesturing as he continued. "He is being destroyed by his guilt over his betrayal and he is fully willing to pick a side now...and he has chosen the side of Kilkis Seres. I believe he would give his life for yours once again, everything he spoke of was truthful and from his heart." Meksis looked back to the Camp, wondering quietly how the Demon was fairing, slowly facing Shiva as he concluded. "I understand you will find it difficult, I would in your position...but if it weren't for me, I believe Soren would've killed himself soon. He never said it outright to me, but when I told him what he had to do, he uttered something to me, a third option. You should've heard the dread and misery in his voice." Meksis cleared his throat, such talking left him with the sensation of being parched. If only he could drink. "I suppose you could say that, I'm just wondering if there's anything, anything at all you can do for him? Just to give him this chance? He truly wishes to make amends, my lady." The Chaperone's "heart" ached, contending with both Soren's guilt and Shiva's departure into an unforeseeable danger, potentially putting her life on the line. - Nergal, Remnant of Meksis - Healer's Tent with Yevgeni - Nergal could only listen to Yevgeni as he explained himself and his thoughts in great detail. It was perfect, Yevgeni's plans for the worlds lined up exactly with what he wanted and now he knew something could grant him the greatness he sought: The Source of All Life...the name indicative of its purpose and yet, it most likely housed a gargantuan pool of energies in order to fulfill its purpose, whatever that might be, yet he could not be certain, but if this Yevgeni was privy to its existence, he could easily lead him to it in due time, if they only had a little privacy, where again, their ideals aligned. "Then you and I share more than either of us thought up until now, Yevgeni. I never thought of you as a mere puppet, if I did, I would not think as highly of you as I od now. Forgive me for the pretense, but perhaps this was destined?" Nergal suggested, though he knew while they aligned in many ways, Nergal had his own ideas alongside. Regardless, he could only give a genuine smile as he continued his whisper with a hidden pride. "My name is Nergal. And I believe that together, we could achieve your goals with ease. Allow me to help you, Yevgeni, and I will see to it that your vision for this world comes to pass. In exchange, you will take me to the Source of All Life...I believe I could gain much from the Source, perhaps an elevated existence, power, knowledge, I can only wonder. If you help me like I will help you, I can promise a share in its potential." Nergal's own energies swelled within his body as he could feel his wounds complete their healing, thanks to his Healer and Saviour, paying a small glance to her as to ensure she doesn't hear too much. "As a matter of fact, to prove my usefulness, and loyalty...I can aid you in...shall we say, providing the scenario in which Queen Shiva is not around to get in your way. What do you say?" Nergal proposed, his internal bloodlust welling in his heart. (I've nothing for Soren to do currently, so only Meksis and Nergal for now. Sorry!)
Stardustblade358 806 Posted November 19, 2017 - Helios - Side: Mystras Rebellion - Healer Tents - With Aura, King Alderon, Arthur & Draksis - Arthur seemed to freeze up when Draksis mentioned that Alex and he had taken down a beast and its...companion. "(It was a girl.)" Arthur clarified in his head. He cleared his throat, bowing his head. "If you excuse me, I'll go ahead and go check on Alex." Arthur said, smiling as he quickly turned, hurrying away. Helios frowned at Draksis before giving a nod. "Thank you, Draksis. He...is another one of the many casualties that have been lost in this war. I wish we could have had more time. He honestly deserved better." Helios smiled softly. "But I'm going to make sure that his death isn't in vain. His and Ariana's." Helios said, feeling the necklace around his neck momentarily before lowering his hand. "The beast Arthur and Alex fought was a Wendigo. Their stench is unmistakable. Ironically, though not immortal, they are associated with death. They feed on the recently deceased. I've heard that they had a deal with the Queen to be allowed to live under certain conditions...I wouldn't be surprised if more were to show up on the next encounter." Helios hummed, biting his lower lip slightly. There were beings that would remain out of the conflict...sadly it would seem that the Wendigo would not be one of them. "(Please see reason, Queen Shiva. Otherwise, you might end up destroying the very same world you claim to protect.)" - Arthur - Side: Mystras Rebellion - Healer Tents - Visiting Alex - Arthur walked around, looking for Alex. Among the lines of injured soldiers laying down, he found him, quickly hurrying over. "Alex, you're awake." Arthur hummed, walking over as he looked down at the fellow knight. Alex could have died. He gave his time, and almost his life to help Arthur out of the field. Gladly, however, he was still alive. Injured, with fever, and an infection, but hey, alive. "And alive. I'm glad." Arthur said. "The King is alive. Injured, but alive, and so is Draksis. Lord Raiden is on his way to meet with Queen Shiva. If all goes well, the war might come to a ceasefire, or even an end. If it goes badly, however...well, it's war, isn't it?" Arthur said with a nervous chuckle. How he was capable of holding himself up was a question even to himself. He already suffered at least two breakdowns in a matter of hours, and now it was just an anxious waiting game for the next set of orders to see if they would get to live another day or not. "Thank...Thank you for helping me out of there, Alex. For having my back too." Arthur said. He needed a distraction, small talk if possible. All to avoid overthinking. "How are you feeling?...Nevermind, dumb question. Instead, do you need anything? Water or something?"
Sora's Baby 729 Posted November 20, 2017 (edited) ~Aqua: To the camp for the Kilkis Seres~ Aqua looked behind at Curvis. “Ah, you’d kill me now that you know I won’t be of much help to see Queen Shiva if you were lying. Besides, you couldn’t hurt a fly, could you?” She urged the horse back towards camp. “Now no more of this killing talk.” She stated firmly. The horse trotted toward the camp. The horse arrived at the camp and she jumped down and took a glance around the camp. “We’re here, well at the camp at least. You can go explore around, although I’d recommend staying with me. As you saw before some fey dislike humans. “ Aqua sighed. “Although, I’d like to change that.” Aqua eyes land on one form in particular. She stiffened slightly. “ I really should try to explain things to her, I owe her that much.” She thought to herself. She started her walk over slowly. As she got closer she noticed another form on the ground. “Just my luck, she would be here and now.Ofcrouse she isn't alone, should I stop and wait this out? Ah, I'll stop and wait for now. ” She stopped a distance from them both. Edited November 20, 2017 by Sora's Baby 1 DarylTrect reacted to this
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted November 28, 2017 {Mariel: Mystas Camps; Near the Healer's Tent} The healing glow around Mariel faded as the magic finished its work. It was still another couple of minutes before the Angel opened her eyes. She took a moment to analyze the sights, sounds, and magical auras around her. She identified a powerful presence nearby she hadn't felt before. It was alarming at first, but the presence didn't seem to be causing trouble and others were with it, so it could wait. With no immediate danger detected, Mariel began to take stock of her physical condition. She looked up at her formerly impaled wing. While dried blood remained in the feathers, the wound was healed. Stretching her wings experimentally, she felt twangs of pain and fatigue, her right wing in particular feeling weak. Not ideal, but still better results than she could have hoped for the short healing session. One of the healers must have added in their magic to the mix. She would have to thank them later. Beside the Guardian Angel, the Ice Queen's spear had melted, leaving a small pool of water unsullied by blood. Mariel could feel the crusted blood from her nose covering a lot of the lower half of her face. While she couldn't really do anything for the blood on her wings without a major time investment, she could at least clean her face. Tearing off a piece of cloth from her cloth skirt, she dipped it in the water and scrubbed at her face. Using a little reflection in the pool, she cleaned herself up as best she could. Half way through, she stopped and peered closer at her own reflection. She could see freckles dusting her nose and upper checks. She had those in her human form, but they weren't part of her natural form. Had she remained a human too long and now parts of it had changed her? And was that change only skin deep? Memories of Shiva's words echoed through Mariel's mind. Was she following others blindly? Had her time among the humans corrupted her in some way? She was sure the Hosts would say yes. At least Sifrei seemed to understand. He might be one of the only arcs that would. "Even if they don't understand, the Legions did." The Angel muttered to herself as her resolve came surging back. "We were made to defend those who could not defend themselves. Maybe I am a fallen angel, but I have not forsaken my duty to protect. Corrupted or not, I will follow the Guardian Angel's calling till my last breath and beyond." Disturbing the water to refresh her cloth, Mariel finished washing her face. After only a second of contemplation, she began braiding parts of her hair like she had in her human guise. It was a part of her now. No need to hide it. 1 Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Elrandir 783 Posted December 2, 2017 - Sifrei and Aura - Healers tent -Aura looked around for a moment, now fully understanding the real consequences of the battle. There were wounded everywhere, some only had cuts, bruises, or burns, nothing critical, others though, they were missing limbs or worse, they died."Is it worth it?" she said quietly, "throwing your life away for someone you barely know."Sifrei stared at the young human for a moment, he could understand that her feelings were at a disarray by all that was happening around her, she had lost much already after all."Believe it or not Aura, we believe that you humans are worth it. Perhaps the Frostbearer thinks otherwise, but others like Raiden, my King and Queen, or even myself only wish to help the humans once more," Sifrei said calmly, "You will find a peaceful life when this is over Aura, we will make sure of that. It was my promise to your brother and I will fulfill that promise."Now if only her brother was still there to be part of that life, but that was not meant to be, she was going to see him again one day, for now, she had to keep living. A slightly painful headache made Aura lay down again, putting her arms over her eyes she sighed and frowned, she was feeling a little dizzy."I'm not feeling well Sifrei, I think I will take another nap," she said, "I hope you don't mind."" Of course not," The Archangel shook his head and bowed slightly, "you need to rest and heal for tomorrow. Have a good night Aura, if you need anything send someone to find me."The young woman nodded and in mere seconds fell asleep once again. Sifrei watched her for a few more seconds before looking at the Helios and the others, they looked like they had a lot to talk about and he didn't wanted to interfere, so he walked away. After a moment he managed to get a glimpse of a familiar face, that of Mariel, this made Sifrei feel like relieved, he had been worried that the Guardian Angel was not able to return at all."I am happy that after all those years in the world below you still hold your duty in such high regard, but let us hope that this conflict can be resolved without further bloodshed. There are many who will not return to their homes today and the sadness from their loss will be great to their families, both fae and human," Sifrei said as he got closer, "Glad to learn of your safe return Mariel, and by the look of things you are already in better shape than when I left." rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted December 5, 2017 {Mariel: Mystras Camp; Near the Healer's tent} Mariel was finishing with the last braid when Sifrei approached her. She felt a little self conscious that he had overheard her private pep talk. At least she hadn't vocalized some of the doubts she had been feeling. "That duty is what kept me sane during my exile." She responded. "Too much rides on that duty, both now and in legacy, for me to turn my back on it. While i hope this war to end, others will come later. I will be ready for them." She gave the archangel a shy smile. "your concern for me is touching, but unneeded. Guardian Angels are built to last and there are more important people to worry about." Glancing at the healer's tent, the red headed angel took on a more business like demeanor. "Do you know how many we lost?"
Elrandir 783 Posted December 6, 2017 - Sifrei Mond - Healers tent -"For anyone as long lived as us war is always in our future, I suppose," Sifrei said calmly, "We can only hope that we are always ready for when that time comes."The Archangel looked at the Guardian and the smile she gave to him, he didn't knew why it happened, but he thought that smile made her look cute"You may be build to last Mariel, but remember that nothing last forever, not even us," he said, "and do not think for a moment that you are not important, bacause you are, everyone is important for someone in the world, no matter where."Sifrei noticed the change from the Guardian Angel, and just like she did, he also looked around the tent."While I do not have the exact number I think it was less than we initially thought," Sifrei replied, "taking into consideration that we fought against a force bigger than our own. However, I do know one who fell during the fight, one of the human siblings who was training with myself and my associate, Eliltari. Apparently there was another one, one who was close to Lord Raiden. Sadly, I do not know yet, everyone is more concerned about helping with the healing right now." Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted December 8, 2017 (edited) --Shiva -- Leaving the Kilkis Seres camp-- The queen expected no less from Meksis; of course the chaperone would be resistant to her meeting with their archenemy, alone of all things. At least he remained respectful of her wishes, even when voicing his own opinion. She placed a hand on her chest. "I understand you reasoning, and I thank you for your concern. It is my decision to meet with our enemy in hopes of coming to a peaceful resolution. If I know anything about Lord Raiden it is that he hates bloodshed, and this war was not something that he wished upon any of us. And, should I have to use force to get him to cooperate"--her fingers brushed the hilt of her sword at her hip--"then I will do what I must." Before she left, however, Meksis brought up Soren, to which the queen tensed. "I will give him the chance to prove himself and earn his redemption, but that is all that I can proffer him. He betrayed me once, even fought and slew my men, and while I may have his word now I would be a fool to trust him again, even if he is sincere. Once he shows me he is trustworthy I will trust him, but only then." Shiva stole a glance at the sky, the moon shining brightly upon their faces through parted clouds. "Now, I must go. I assume that I can trust you to watch over our sentinel friend and ensure that he is indeed on our side." --Yevgeni Malachite-- The blond straightened, watching Nergal intently. The man made him more than wary, and everything in his body screamed at him to turn away from that healer's tent and not return. And yet, curiosity and a desire to see things through won him over. "An elevated existence? Like a god?" He crossed his legs, gripping his elbows as he leaned in closer to Nergal so that he could speak softer. "I am still failing to see why I should accept your aid when I could easily accomplish my own means on my own." The truth, however, was that Yev needed allies. Powerful ones, ones that he could trust and aid him in his ultimate goals. He had some acquaintances, earned the trust of a few, but none that would help him succeed in his vision of a revolutionary world. Could Nergal secure this for him? Did he trust Nergal to do this for him? "It may not be too late for the queen," Yev said slowly, reaching to an inner pocket of his robe and withdrawing a dagger wrapped in worn leather. "She may still be reachable. I believe I owe King Alexander to at least give her the chance, though thus far my words to her fall upon deaf ears, and she seeks the advice from those whom will not aid her." "How do I know that I can trust you? What can you give me that I cannot guarantee on my own?" He had so many questions, and yet he was being won over. Nergal seemed earnest and enthusiastic, two things that he needed if his mission were to be a success. --Everyth Castanova -- Mystras camp-- The slender woman returned to camp after her meeting with Henry, slipping in unnoticed by the fey knights that stood guard of the entrance. No one seemed to notice her at all, and a part of her wondered if she were merely a ghost to them. She found her cot and slid onto it, rolling onto her side and bringing her knees up to her chest. It felt so lonely there, not even her human comrades paid her any heed or took any interest to her or her well-being. She never had many any friends in Alderon's army, apart from perhaps Effie. Many times she felt alone and ostracized, and it didn't help matters that most thought of her as a witch that should be burnt at the stake. A silly grin crossed her face as she closed her eyes, thinking back to Henry and what he thought she implied in her request. She hadn't really thought about it before, but now she couldn't help but wonder what it would've been like to have been in his arms in that particular moment, feeling a sense of belonging, warmth, and security under the protection and approval of the dreadnaught. At least Henry seemed to approve of her, unlike everyone else. Eventually the raven-haired woman drifted off to sleep, curled in a ball on her cot within the corner of the room. --Curvis Sourati -- Arriving with Aqua at the Kilkis Seres camp-- Curvis looked around expectantly as Aqua announced their arrival, though was mildly disappointed when he saw nothing particularly noteworthy. The only true differences between the campgrounds of the opposing fey were that of quality: the tents seemed to be made from slightly more expensive materials, and they extended over more land. It seemed that Kilkis Seres indeed had the larger army, though the young knight was uncertain on which troops were of better training. "Thank you," he said to Aqua at last. "You didn't have to bring me here, and yet you did. I do not wish to bring any trouble upon you. As such, I will inform the queen that I came here of my own volition and found my own way. Whatever my fate, I will allow it." He did, however, think twice about strolling around their campgrounds in apparel of the opposing army. It would probably bring much fury into the hearts of the soldiers before they even had a chance to hear what he had to say. "Say, might you have a spare robe that I could borrow, or know where I may be able to change clothing? I may antagonize your people by the very sight of me, I fear." It was then that he realized something--or someone--had Aqua's attention beyond himself; he wasn't even sure if she could hear him. --Elia Cabret -- Kilkis Seres campgrounds-- It slightly surprised the young fairy when she saw Jari burst into tears. She drew her face from his shoulder and looked up into his usually bright and energetic face. It filled her with fear to see him this way; the kitsune wasn't supposed to be so distraught. So far he'd always been so cheerful and optimistic. But, perhaps that was before he had lost a friend, and watched so many die before his very eyes. Elia took one of his hands, pressing it to her damp cheek. "I don't think I can go out there again, if the battle goes on," she murmured softly, shaking her head. "I don't want to be a deserter, and I want to remain loyal, but I don't think I can do it again. I don't think I can see . . . well, all of that again." Her gaze surveyed the many soldiers within the premises. Many of them had a rather empty look in their eye, a few of them clutched bottles that Elia highly suspected to consist of liquor. Did they secretly feel the same way inside that Elia felt? Did they lose best friends today? Family? It was while she scanned the crowd that her eyes fell upon an old friend, one that she hadn't seen since she'd undergone training under Yevgeni. Elia stood, watching Aqua with hesitation, uncertain of how she should feel to see her. She then noticed a brown-haired young man making a motion toward her, one that distinctly didn't look to be from Kilkis Seres . . . or perhaps fey at all. --King Alderon -- Mystran camp-- The king listened intently as Draksis gave his report, eyes closed all the while. He finally nodded when Draksis was finished, indicating that he was indeed listening despite seeming to have drifted off. "I see," was his response at last. "So this 'Henry' is working on our side now. How interesting, the way that the world works." He coughed into his arm, only to find traces of blood upon it. He took several deep breaths before finally continuing, his voice slightly more strained than it had been previously. "It seems that we have gained the upper hand, despite having fewer numbers. I would expect no less, what with your Black Knights and the Mystran mages. If you would, please inform Lord Raiden that I wish to speak with him. I would like to know what his next course of action is, and what integral role we shall play. "For now, I shall rest. This old man was nearly sent to an early grave today. That succubus woman was more powerful than I had initially anticipated." rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted December 13, 2017 {Mariel: Mystras Encampment; Near the Healer tent} Mariel nodded to Sifrei's words on battle. There was always another. You just had to hold to what was right and defend it. His warnings and rebuttal about her importance got the Archangel an odd look from Mariel, but she said nothing as he went into answering her question about casualties. As a former Archon of the Legion, she understood the good fortune this rebellion had had in its limited losses, but other instincts were not so easily swayed. For her, there were foes, those to be protected, and other Guardian Angels. Those who she had stood with that died on that field fell into the middle category, which made her not help but feel like a failure on her part. This wasn't a healthy point of view, she knew, but that didn't really help right now. Sifrei's mention of the human siblings caused Mariel to think back to the beginning of the battle, and the young man and woman that stood with the Archangel. Mariel hadn't even managed to get their names. And now, she would not get to use one of them. "Smaller than we could have expected." The Guardian Angel said as she gazed out onto the battlefield, her voice distant. "Still more more than we could have hoped." Drawing her mind away from the barbed trap that was second guessing and recrimination, she brought her gaze back to Sifrei and gave him a brief smile. "And don't worry." She said. "I'm well aware of my own mortality. My fate is to die protecting others, as it is for all my host." Her expression became more quizzical as she cocked her head to the side and studied the Archangel. "You are different than most of the Archangels I have know, Ophaniel. Most understand the purpose for which Guardians were made. Though other beings might think of us as friends, our true importance comes from our duty to others. Is this something you were not aware of or reject?" Saber Lily 1,543 Posted December 13, 2017 The Floating City of Hunter The wounded had overflown the hospital, reaching nearby homes, into parks. Anywhere a bed could be laid, did a wounded angel or succubus now lay, some beside their mortal enemies, others apart. Healers from both sides worked, not a single argument on patients. The war over division, at least, had begun mending an old wound, one that the former Queen of the Valkyries had been attempting with Xion. Said Queen of Succubi, was currently sitting alone, letting the wind blow. "You'd have been amazing out there, Zi." She whispered to the wind. "Why did you leave me?" Only the wind answered. She sighed. War. And the one woman she loved, gone. Jeremy was higher. Sitting atop the highest tower, he was staring down at the carnage. Beyond his town was the city, beyond the city the land, and it was the land that cried out. he sighed, rubbing the back of his head, watching the birds. He entered a war...but was ever right? Maybe. Maybe not. All he could do was fight. And fight, most likely...he really didn't want to deal with the strategy meeting Raz was dealing with. He just wanted to rest...he just wanted the danger to end, so he may be at peace once more.
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted December 13, 2017 - Meksis, The Chaperone, Armour of Light - With Shiva - Meksis could only admire how steadfast Shiva remained in the face of this war and how adamant she was in resolving this war peacefully. If what she said about Lord Raiden was true, then it should be over within a heartbeat with only one battle and minimal bloodshed...but one shouldn't be too optimistic, especially in the midst of such turmoil. "Of course, my queen. I will not stop you. My concern is both my nature and my own to give. I have high hopes that you will see us through to the end...though, I cannot claim to not be a little afraid of what may happen." Meksis admitted, then he chuckled a little to himself. "And believe me when I say I don't say that often. Being afraid is something I simply cannot be, my duty is to alleviate the fears of others and guide them to their future...I am the Chaperone for a reason." He spoke with a tinge of pride, yet arrogance was not even a glimmer in his mind. "I just find that...I can be open around you. Ahh, forgive me if that is out of line, your majesty. I don't know if my brother in armour is open with you like this, or more." Meksis spoke honestly with the Queen, though he had a moment of incredulity at how he was being with her and as such, amusement at himself, his gestures small and rapid as he backpedaled and laughed it off before straightening himself quickly as Shiva stated her thoughts and regards to Soren Monroe. "I understand. My only concern really was that, if anything, Soren needs meaning in his life again. It is his own fault, but the power does indeed rest within him...I can only hope he can see this through and prove himself worthy. Thank you nonetheless, my queen. I swear on my life that I will ensure he is trustworthy." Meksis professed to Shiva, then declared his swearing to uphold his duty to the Demon Scorned. Before Shiva left, Meksis reached out a little with his left hand and called out. "One more thing, before you depart." And so he stepped forward and spoke again. "Good luck, Shiva. We're all counting on you...and I believe in you." Meksis concluded softly, his hands now behind his back in his straightened pose. - Nergal, Remnant of Meksis - Healer's Tent with Yevgeni - Nergal could see the myriad of feelings stirring within Yevgeni, his heart leaping as, after professing his own feelings on the matter, making reference to the prior monarch, Yevgeni questioned how he could trust him. The concerns were quite valid, Nergal was still naught but a stranger to the ambitious man, but he felt he knew exactly what Yevgeni needed. "I will not force the issue, Yevgeni. But I can assure you, your life couldn't be safer in my hands. Neither could your vision. The world deserves a change and you and I together? We can achieve this with ease...we just need to kickstart this motion in whatever fashion is necessary, do we not? If we join together, I can grant you this motion." Nergal then lowed his voice to a softer whisper, beckoning Yevgeni closer. "If you need Queen Shiva to co-operate...or dare I say, out of the way, I can grant you this. Just say the word and I will prove myself to you and grant you the unthinkable." Nergal promised to the Elf, smiling softly, yet sincerely. - Soren Monroe, the Regretful Traitor - Kilkis Campgrounds - It did not take much wandering for Soren to become unsettled. As he paced the grounds after Meksis's rather spectacular departure, his thoughts raced. Shiva had departed the campgrounds, for what purpose? A simple walk? Clear her mind? ...meet with Raiden? Soren remembered what she had declared on the battlefield as the fighting ended and began to worry. Would Lord Raiden really be so willing to give it up? Soren knew he could not be trusted, he was a traitor...so how can one trust the leader of an army of traitors? He had to do something...but what? "I cannot sit on my hands and watch the world pass me by...if Shiva is to trust me again, I need to act now, something must be done, I--...I must follow her, but I have to hurry." Soren's thoughts concluded as he swiftly departed from the Campgrounds, into the shroud of night he disappeared, as he followed the sound of distinct chatter and kept a considerable distance, sticking to the shadows and enveloping himself within them. Soren's affinity for Darkness would keep him sight unseen and sound unheard...he was scared. Scared of what could happen if Raiden proved to be more dangerous than Soren ever could be. Elrandir 783 Posted December 15, 2017 - Sifrei Mond - Healers tent -"You have to realize that I am not your avarage Archangel, Mariel. I was not born nor was I groomed for such position. I know of the teachings of the Host, I just simply do not see eye to eye with how they deal with things," Sifrei answered Mariel, "My father was once like them, like you, always thinking about the well being of others, to protect those who weren't able to do it themselves, he took pride on his work, but somewhere along the way he realized that angels often prefered to stay still rather than to get involved in matters that actually concerned everyone."The Archangel turned his head to look the the people currently being treated for their injuries, each one worse than the last."So he left, wandered for centuries until he arrived at the north, he offered his services to the late King Bahamut. "Judge those with impure hearts, help those who suffer discrimination. Protect the citizenry, for the King is nothing without his people." He sought after an important role to actively help people instead of waiting for the Host," he said calmly, yet his tone sounded proud, "And I chose to follow in his steps after he, my mother, my step mothers, and my siblings decided to leave."Sifrei once again looked at Mariel, his face, and the air around him, radiated a strange calmness."I have to admit that I was surprised when the leaders of the Divine Cities appeared on the battlefield. It is only in times like these that they actually bother to spring into action," Sifrei said, "Unlike everyone else, they needed a strong enough reason to act. That is why I am different Mariel, I do not see the need to wait until the safety of the world is at stake, not when there is a person who needs help in front of me." rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted December 20, 2017 {Mariel: Mystras Camp; Near the Healer tent} Mariel listened to Sifrei's answer while watching him closely. She had heard in part the tales of archangels who had left the Hosts. It was enlightening to hear the other side of the story of one of them. The pride with which Sifrei spoke of his father intrigued the Guardian Angel. While she believed in what she and the Lost Legions had done, she was not without regrets. Was this pride due to a greater gap of time or a better understanding of everything involved? Maybe things were easier for Archs. "Hmm, you seem to understand Guardian Angels more than I realized." She said, a slight smirk twisting her lips. "It sounds like your father sacrificed his position in the Hosts to do what he thought was right because he thought it was more important." The smirk faded as memory played its part. "It took us a long time to get to that point. But only a few hid behind doctrine when we came to a consensus about aiding in the war against the world below. More would have marched with Zauriel, Asmodel, and I, but there were still duties we could not abandon." Looking up at the sky, Mariel took a deep breath. "When this is over, I'm going to have to return to the Hosts. To tell the story of the Lost Legion and accept what punishment may come."
Elrandir 783 Posted December 22, 2017 - Sifrei Mond - Healers tent -"My father was...an interesting individual," Sifrei answered, "never one who liked to show his real feelings to others. Actions speak louder than words, he used to say that a lot."It had been a very long time since Sifrei thought about his father, the last time he saw him was when he was still young. It still bothered him sometimes, but he was still proud of being his father's son."I will not try to change your mind Mariel, I can feel that it would be pointless," he said calmly, "the story of the Lost Legion must be told, but you shouldn't be punished for that, not for doing what you believed was right."The Archangel got a little closer to Mariel and put his hand on her shoulder."If possible, I would like to accompany you," Sifrei said to Mariel, "I do not wish for you to face against that ordeal alone." Sora's Baby 729 Posted December 25, 2017 ~Aqua: The camp for the Kilkis Seres~ Aqua looked back to the male behind her. “ Ah, that’s right. Well, I kept a few spares in my bag...ah, well another bag at any rate. Those robes are kind of big for me at any rate so one might fit you. I’m not too sure of that fact, so take it with a grain of salt.” She sighed. “I should take you to my tent.” She gestured for him to follow. “Elia later we should talk later, I have a lot I need to explain to you.” She says walking past her. A sigh escaped her lips. Aqua couldn’t escape the feeling that the worst was yet to come for her. Yet, she didn’t focus on it. She knew she had to press on and she would. (Okay, this is short but I wanted to post SOMETHING.)
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted December 30, 2017 --Queen Shiva -- Leaving Kilkis Seres' Camp-- The queen offered Meksis a shy smile as he admitted being more open with her than others. While she didn't know Meksis very well, he did possess a few traits that reminded her greatly of her guardian, Maxis. She wondered if they were very good friends; she really hadn't seen them together very much. "Worry not, dear Meksis. I know Lord Raiden, and that he will not bring me harm unless I choose to bring harm upon myself. I cannot say that I know the outcome of our meeting, but I can be certain that what it will bring is better than what would happen should I decline this meeting and we resume our battle come dawn." She grasped his hand and nodded, bowing her head deeply before him. "And . . . thank you, for your belief in me and your service. It is with people like you that I know Kilkis Seres' fate is in good hands." The queen then released his hand, brushed her braid over her shoulder, and strode into the dark of the night, full moon reflecting on her minimal armor as her form disappeared into the forest. --Yev Malachite - Healer's Tent: Kilkis Seres-- What Nergal proffered should've raised red flags to the elf, and perhaps it had, but he managed to blind himself by his own desires. A powerful companion was something he needed, someone with the same vision as himself that could aid him in his goals. Too much time had already been spent setting this stage; it was time to take things to the next step. Yev's fingers froze on the dagger at his waist, its blade wrapped in thin strips of worn leather. What they were proposing was worse than treason and an utter betrayal of King Alexander, and yet, sadly, felt necessary. "I fear that this war will not end in our favor," Yevgeni replied grimly, snatching the dagger by the hilt and holding it on his outstretched fingertips. "Raiden is adamant and Shiva is stubborn, and yet the two have the strangest way of seeing things eye for eye and working them out. Should this happen"--he extended the blade out toward Nergal--"I entrust you to do what you must. I believe that I do not need to explain what this is?" If Nergal was as well-versed and ancient as he claimed, he would likely have no trouble identifying the weapon that he proffered. With that, Yevgeni rose from his position, standing over the wounded man. "I believe that we will do great things in the future to come," said Yevgeni. "And perhaps show Kilkis Seres a golden era that it has never seen before, but very much deserves." --Curvis Sourati and Elia Cabret -- Kilkis Seres camp-- The brunet froze in place as Aqua had been leading him to what seemed her tent. He raised a brow apprehensively. "Your tent?" he repeated, running his tongue over his dry lips. "It's alright. I do not wish to invade your privacy. If you have the robe I would gladly tread to the outskirts of camp and change somewhere within the forest." Perhaps it wasn't an invasion of privacy, but still. He felt awkward entering her personal tent, especially since he just met her, and they were surrounded by those who would likely want to kill him on the spot, let alone if they noticed Aqua and Curvis together. He hated to think of what they might do to her. When Aqua approached Elia stood up, hands clasped behind her back as she eyed her friend suspiciously. It had indeed been a while since they had seen one another, and Elia had mixed feelings about their encounter. "I suppose you do," she said finally in response, flinging herself back down alongside Jari. "I will be here when you want to talk." She felt dejected, to which she probably informed Aqua of given her stiffness in response.
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) - Meksis, Armour of Light, The Chaperone - With Queen Shiva outside Camp - Queen Shiva's certainty about Lord Raiden's potential actions served as great relief to Meksis, despite her not knowing what their meeting will bring, she affirmed the Chaperone that Raiden would not hurt her. And that was enough for Meksis, who relaxed, up until Shiva took his hand, prompting him to resume a firmer stance and reciprocate her bow with one of his own. "Think nothing of it, your majesty...I know that my faith is well-placed. Light be with you, Shiva...I will await your return." Meksis concluded, going into a deep bow of respect and farewell to Shiva after she released his hand and departed into the night, the full moon light reflecting off of her armour was beautiful to behold, like the monarch herself, though thoughts like that, Meksis knew, were better kept to himself, despite Shiva potentially appreciating such flattery. "You know she won't return, Meksis~" The words of Meksis's Darkness hissed at the back of his mind as he turned back to the Campgrounds, heading back toward them in ignorance of the Defiled's words. "Ignore me as much as you want, I know you cannot shake the feeling...what she is doing only garners risk, not salvation." His infection continued, though despite his deafened ears to the shadows, Meksis couldn't shake the feeling after all...not helped by the ever disturbing fact that Meksis, the Defiled, was more of a presence in his mind and body than even during the Battle Between Worlds. - Nergal, Remnant of Meksis - Healer's Tent: Kilkis Seres, with Yevgeni - Yevgeni's grim tone did nothing to dissuade Nergal, nor his ambitions, instead his interest was peaked as the Elf reached for a Dagger...one that he recognized from the chapters of history. "A Feyslayer...Zeus's Dagger, yes? Oh yes it is...Where did--Oh, it matters not. A more finely crafted dagger, one could not ask for." Nergal whispered, completely hiding his internal delight and replacing it with a calm exterior, though his affirmation and sincerity were not mere masks. Nergal listened to Yevgeni as he took hold of Zeus's Dagger himself, the power encrusted into the blade could be felt almost immediately. The true power to kill a Queen was in his hands. The once hollow man looked up at Yevgeni and offered a small smile as he sheathed the dagger upon his waist and began rising to his feet as well, having recovered enough to stand. "On my word, it will be done. Once I have performed the deed, you will know it. Meet with me again and together, Yevgeni, we shall lead Kilkis Seres to the Golden Era you so desire. On this, you have my solemn vow." Nergal's final whisper was followed by a swift departure, but not before placing a hand upon his Healer's shoulder as thanks for her services, to which she only smiled softly. To see one she saved recover from their injuries bought her delight, in spite of the unbeknownst to her fact that Nergal was now out to end the life of a Monarch... Nergal stepped out to the borders of the Campgrounds and deeply inhaled the air around him...many scents were in said air, but only two caught his interest: The stench of Darkness tainting a bountiful Light, a spirit encased in steel...a Living Armour of familiarity to Nergal...Meksis...? And of course, the royal aura, and perfumes, of Queen Shiva, her icy demeanour and power laced into both aromas, oddly producing a sweet smell to Nergal, however, that might have been the scent of death in the air. Meksis was of no interest to Nergal right now, so he set off after the still fresh aroma of Shiva, sneaking around Meksis's general area, keeping to the shadows to avoid sight as he departed from the grounds entirely, in ravenous search for his target. It was time the Overworld knew pain. Edited January 2, 2018 by Nero Kunivas 1 Mystics Apprentice reacted to this
