Stardustblade358 806 Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Osn5hwmJmZg - Helios - Kilkis Seres - Preparing for War - Helios paused his petting of Mel as he listened to Jynn, glancing at the massing armies around them. "...I think...that this war will result in useless deaths and unneeded tragedies. Your mother has the majority of the Overworld at her side, but Raiden has humans...I guess this in the end is the result of each world's goals. Your mother's is her pride. Her father set up the rules that were to be followed. She followed them for years, and has experienced much more than we could ever know. It is hard for someone like her to suddenly change her mind and change something that has been done for so long. For the humans, it is survival. Once the humans became aware of our existence they became desperate enough to come all the way up here and beg for assistance from a world so lively and plentiful compared to their own. The humans want a solution, salvation from the death that is taking toll on their world, and Raiden has joined in order to help them. Now it's just a war of wills. I'll admit, your mother is stubborn, and has all of the qualities of a leader...which is why so many are willing to fight and die for her beliefs." Helios hummed, looking up at Jynn. He walked over next to Mel, gently patting Jynn. "You are not bad, Jynn, and certainly not a monster. You are your mother's one and only child. Though you two may disagree in so many things, at the end of the day, a mother only wishes what is best for her child, one way or another. Sure, they show it in very different ways, but it's always for the same result. I've seen her gaze when she looks at you. She may be feeling angry with you, but not out of hate, but out of fear. Maybe she fears that the humans will harm you like they did to her father long ago. She already lost someone dear to them. She doesn't want to lose you to them the same way." Helios smiled reassuringly. "You may be different from your mother, but that is how things are. No two people are the same, even rulers. Ruling is something that is learned through experience. Your mother has already had many years to that. If push comes to shove and your time of ruling arrives, you have to believe in what you have learned, and what your heart is telling you to follow. Don't be afraid of mistakes. Instead, when you do them, you must be brave enough to accept them, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them." Helios glanced up at the flying pegasi along with their riders. "But that time has yet to arrive. You must keep your mind clear and your heart strong right now. You have to remember that people look up to you too." - Morana - Kilkis Seres - Preparing for war - Morana looked up to Jari, smiling as she waved. "Not long at all. We were just getting ready and all. I don't think we've received any order either, so we're waiting on those too." Morana said. If she notice the scent of wine on his lips, she didn't make mention of it. Instead she clapped her hands together. "I managed to gain a whole lot of seeds for different species of trees, so if you see any trees randomly flying out in the battlefield, it's most likely me. Hehe!" - Arthur - Lord Raiden's Villa - Preparing for war - Arthur watched Henry walk away. Once he was out of sight, in another room, Arthur looked back down, frowning. He reached into his chest, taking out Visco's letter. He fumbled around as he picked up one of the flowers, getting the rest away and back into his safe place in his chest pocket. He stared at it. It had been in there for god knows how long, with no oxygen, water nor sunlight, and much like Raiden had predicted, it looked as if it had never been in such a constricting place. "If only the world could be like you. Regardless how rugged, to come back to life so easily." Arthur hummed, frowning as he spun the flower around a bit. So much had happened, and he could no longer act so ignorant, much to his dismay. They had tortured the Fey, held him against his will and forced their own citizens to death by experimentation all for the sake of...something. Henry's words still stung. It was impossible for them not to. But...what could one do of the past? Nothing. Only hope to make up for it in the present, and right now, they had a war ahead of them. One they had to win. Arthur gently got the flower in his hair, placing it neatly behind his hear. "I guess I'll back Henry up, if he doesn't end up destroying everyone else first." Saber Lily 1,543 Posted July 15, 2017 -Eclaire - With Shiva and Maxis, Kilkis Seres- The moment her hand touched Shiva's icy cheek, her own became hot. Fighting the oncoming blush, she gently cupped Shiva's cheek and draw close. She ignored Maxis, ignored Meksis...she gently leaned in and rested her forehead against Shiva's. "I will always stand beside you, Shiva." She whispered. "Maxis will always stand with you...I promise...we will always be here." She slid an arm around to hug Shiva. "We will get through this...we will bring peace..." her voice was still quiet. "...I promise..." Eclaire was scared. Scared, not of what could happen to her - but of Shiva. The Queen was clearly distraught, was torn...she needed them...and Eclaire swore...she'd never let go of the Queen. She held a spark of her life within her...a spark of her very being. She carried it to carry her will. And she would forever carry this spark. -Jeremy of Hunter, Amphitheater of Perdyx- The Daedalus of the Icarus, Leader of the Doomed, the Burning Oath of the Skies. His people called him many, many things...but he deserved none. He merely did what was necessary for his people. He kept telling the young ones to stop giving him titles. He was not Rhaedyn Thane. He was not an ancient lord of yore and power. He was a boy who became a king. A king who chose to fail at everything, to succeed. A boy who would rather wake up with his head in the lap of a cute girl, than the Hall of the Daedalus. Luckily a cute girl was currently fussing with his collar. "Thank you." "Anything fo -""Stop." He brushed her hands off. "Don't call me Lord, or Leader, or any of those damn titles the kids insist on giving me. 'Heroes need titles!' No heroes need a warm bed, warm food, and loved ones."He rubbed his head. Her hand gently laid on his shoulder. "Anything for you, idiot." "That's what I like to hear." He gave a good, hearty laugh. "Now it's time to make a speech, rouse the troops, and wait until the others arrive -""My Lord!" A messenger rushed in. "Prince Ask'Raziel has been detained by his father! His messenger barely managed to escape to warn us!" Jeremy gripped his fist. My'Chael chose such stupid paths...paths that lead to ruin. Jeremy pushed past the girl and to the messenger. "Send word to the Mares of Angels. Rally Maginhilde, rally Kaliel, rally Shar'aia. Shiva will need every single soldier, and Raz is worth ten." He gritted his teeth. "Messenger. Make haste, get going. I must rally Hunter, and prepare." As the messenger winged away, Jeremy took his spot at the top of the Pillar. It was the speaking point of the Amphitheater of Perdyx, and from here he looked down upon the hundreds of Icarians who chose to take up arms. He took a slow, easy breath. "Those who place your trust in me. Heed my words. When you elected me as the Daedalus, chose me to lead you to a new tomorrow, you placed more than the future of Hunter, of ourselves, in my hands. On my shoulders I have carried your weight in your time of need. I have shown a path of flow, to follow the river that is our Doomed Existence. But we cannot live as such anymore. We cannot live in fear, in terror of the idea we will fail. It is the nature of man and fae to fail. The nature of all of us, is failure. There will always be an inevitable sun, a terrible heat or an insurmountable cold. There will be death...but death is natural. All things that begin will end, one way or another. But God gave those of the Angelic Divinity the ability to ignore the most pressing of all ends - time. We were created at the dawn of time, and as we grew old and fought, as we failed and returned to the bosom of God, we could still fight time. But many fae cannot. Even now, thearmies of Mystras and Kilkis Seres march. They will clash upon killing fields, spilling blood of fae, of man, and of angel. But I am here now to tell you the greatest secret to my success. I fear, not failure. I fear not trying. I fear doing nothing. By our curse, our doom, we are scared. But as I stand here, looking out, I see something Hunter has not seen in generations. Courage. Courage is not fear being absent, but us ignoring it's existence for the sake of others. It is the courage of you that makes our curse afraid! So I call upon you, not to hold back, not to fear death - embrace it! Embrace death as an old friend, one you inevitable would meet again. For we fight not for ourselves, but those below! The Kingdom of Kilkis Seres has made mistakes, it propogates separation! But tell me. Who here would not have done the same? Who here would not choose their world over another? Would not you choose Hunter over Seres, over Mystras? he paused to take breath. He really wasn't good at speeches. It was clear his soldiers weren't fired up. He had to change that. Summoning Oathkeeper, he slammed it into the Pillar. "We fight for Seres, not because we agree, but because we know what its like to need friends. We know what it is like to be abandoned, downtrodden, and ignored. We know. That is why we must fight. Not for Shiva, but for her people. She loves her people, as I love you. And as she would, I would give my life for you. And we have enough dead heroes. It is time that, we do what My'Chael, what Gab'Rael, and what Anshar refuse. I shall follow the path of Zion, of the Valkyries. I will walk the road to dawn. So I ask you - follow me! To Mare Septim, so we may free Ask'raziel! Then, together, let us fly! Fly to the killing fields, fly to the slaughter. And as the guardians that we were once rumored and believed to be - let us descend upon those fields and show them the tenacity of the angels." As his men cheered, he threw his wings out. "We fly for Mare Septim! We fly to free our friends, and we fly for the sake of peace." He just hoped Rhaedyn Thane made it back in time.
Vaude 536 Posted July 16, 2017 (edited) {Mariel: Mystras; Raiden's Villa}Agatha made it through some door guards using a bluff that she was carrying an urgent message for Lord Raiden. This held some risks, of course, but that was unavoidable at this point. She did get pointed in the direction of Raiden's study, which was helpful. She still had the angelic presence to avoid for now, and to hope the source didn't come looking for her."What in the hells am I doing?" She thought angrily. "This is stupid."But she needed answers. She needed to know the humans weren't being set up for a betrayal. Setting her jaw, Agatha kept going, doing her best to keep track of the other Angel in the villa. After a false turn, she headed for Raiden's study when she saw two figures coming the other way. One she didn't recognize, but the other..."Sorry to interrupt, your lordships." She called out to Raiden and Alastor. She pulled off her helmet and stuck it under her arm."But my manners get lost when I encounter old friends." Mariel continued, starting to smile. - Lord Raiden, in conversation with Alastor and Mariel in Raiden's villa's main hallway - Raiden paused at the sight of the helmeted newcomer as she approached, both curious and anxious about the sight of someone foreign to his eyes. There was a hint of familiarity to the angelic individual, the voice and build particularly, and when she removed her helm he realised exactly why. His jaw hung open in amazement before he corrected myself, and he stepped forward. "Bless my stars!" he exclaimed, seizing her other hand in feverish excitement. "Is that you, Mariel? Yes, yes, it must be you! Where have you been all this time? I had thought you had perished or worse after failing to see you after the many centuries, but it is good to see you again!" He turned his head around towards Alastor and outstretching a hand to him. "Let me be the one to introduce you two," he started out, bubbling with boyish animation and losing his previous melancholy. "Mariel, please meet Alastor, my confidant and strong-armed companion over the course of many a year. Alastor, this is Mariel, a good friend during my military years who taught me how to properly--and uniquely, might I add--use the blade." - Morana - Kilkis Seres - Preparing for war - Morana looked up to Jari, smiling as she waved. Hehe!" - Jari Coriander, preparing for war at Kilkis Seres alongside Elia and Morana - It was difficult to restrain a laugh at the wendigo's actions and words, but Jari managed to do so, instead smiling for real at the girl. Morana was very friendly and bubbly, and it continuously impressed him as to how she could be so, even in the face of all of this danger. Perhaps it was her lineage, but death did not seem to faze her. Perhaps he could learn how to block the thought of death out of his mind from her. Someday, he thought to himself. "That's great!" he commented. "I don't know that much about trees except that there's tons of types. Pretty much the most I know about the forest is what berries are or aren't eatable, and what to pick fights with over food. Perhaps you can teach me later what trees are what?" rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted July 18, 2017 {Mariel: Mystras; Raiden's Villa} Raiden taking Mariel's hand sent a jolt through her. A part of a past she had long since buried was with her and still breathing. It had been so long ago. And yet, her once young pupil still recognized her, even in her human guise. A few tears welled up in her eyes as she truly realized her over two millennia of exile were over. There were still those who remembered her to greet her back. With a short snif, Mariel blinked away the tears as Raiden introduced his compainion. "A pleasure to meet you, Ser Alastor." She greeted, smiling again. "Good to see Odi--Raiden is still making friends." Her expression became more serious as she considered what could have happened in the Overworld in her absence. "I do apologize for this abrupt arrival. I've been trapped in the World Below since the formation of that barrier. I came to make sure the humans were not being set up for a slaughter by a silvery tongued Fey." Here eyes narrowed as that last line reminded her of an old wound. "Speaking of which, what became of King Alexander?" Mariel asked, a hint of venom in her voice and the glint of something dangerous in her eyes.
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted July 19, 2017 --Shiva -- Kilkis Seres-- The queen's eyes were glassy as they rose to meet Maxis', his words soothing her very soul, perhaps more comfort than he could even fathom. "Thank you for your loyalty, truly," she said softly, bowing her head. "Despite everything you've been through--that I've put you through--you still remain by my side, and not only out of duty but also concern. That's . . . that means so much to me, Maxis. After this, if you would accept it, I would like for you to remain awake. I won't return you to your slumber, and instead would like to give you the role of a general." Shiva had thought long and hard about this before proffering it, though now seemed like the perfect opportunity to give her thoughts a voice. It didn't seem fair for Maxis to be put back to a millennia-long slumber once this war was over, not after how hard he'd strove to aid Kilkis Seres. To aid her. And then there was Eclaire: a young woman with so much promise, yet Shiva selfishly put her in grave danger just because she didn't want her to leave her side. It made her feel absolutely terrible to hear Eclaire's promises and kind words, and yet she needed them. Shiva gently leaned into Eclaire as their foreheads met, the warmth of Eclaire somehow managing to penetrate Shiva's icy exterior and warm her very soul. There was something so very much like herself within Eclaire, something that created such a strong bond between them from the first time they met. Even now Shiva couldn't quite discern what it was, but she trusted Eclaire with all of her being. "Thank you," she whispered in Eclaire's ear, her lips mere inches from touching her flesh. "I will stay by your side, and will do everything in my power to ensure that you leave this battle alive. I promise you that." That wasn't too difficult of a promise to make; ensuring it, however, was an entirely different matter. It certainly caught Shiva by surprise when Meksis entered the room, the other enchanted suit of armor that Maxis had recovered some time ago. His existence still was a mystery to Shiva, for she had always assumed it was only Maxis that had roamed the Overworld ever so lonely. And yet there was a great many secrets that even the queen was left unaware of their world. Perhaps there was an entire underground society of enchanted armor, for all she knew. "No, it's fine," Shiva interjected, contradicting Maxis' call for him to leave. "We should be departing now anyway. Meksis, would you kindly gather the horses? I would like for us to hit the road by sundown." Releasing both Maxis and Eclaire, the queen strode forth, standing tall and appearing much more regal than she had previously. It was difficult to imagine the woman before them as seeming frail and desperate as she donned her mask of authority, power, and ice. A pair of soldiers opened the double doors to grant the four access to the courtyard, where hundreds--if not thousands--of their army resided. Shiva looked upon her men and women with an unreadable gaze, her features fixated and in control. Yet inside, she was screaming for help. -- Elia Cabret -- Kilkis Seres: Prepared to March-- The raven-haired girl bobbed her head enthusiastically at Morana's musings. "I know, right? I don't really understand why we even have as many troops as we do, or a need for medics at all. We can just use plenty of magic and we should be able to flatten the humans, though I guess we don't really know what to expect from Raiden's army of fey. I've heard tell that they even have a dragon on their side, which is pretty cool!"--immediately she lowered her arms, excitement flooding from her face--"not that I'm saying that I think Raiden's "army" is cool, but I wish that we had a dragon fighting for us." She bit her lip; the thought of any of her friends getting hurt tore at her heartstrings, and yet it was a reality. Especially those who were now fighting on the opposite side of the battlefield. When Jari appeared Elia gave a start of joy, her smile so wide that it threatened to jump off her face and flee. She threw her arms around the kitsune's neck, squealing in his ear: "Oh, Jari! I thought you left too! I'm so glad that you're going to be in this with us!" After a fair amount of time passed, soldiers with their rides started making their way along the field, proffering horses and pegasus around to those who would need them. Apparently they would be riding to the battlefield, though not all would remain on their steads throughout the duration of the fight. The majority of the army rode pegasus', though Elia declined both when they were proffered to her. "I can get there with my wings," she explained to them, flashing them enthusiastically. She took great pride in her ability to fly, especially with a little ounce of her time magic. "I guess it's pretty much time to leave," she said to her friends. "In case I don't see either of you right away before the battle, I wish you the best!" -- Ren Mordecai -- Raiden's Study-- He heard footsteps before Soren made his presence known, a smile of his own stretching his pallid lips. "Ah, good morning, my friend," Ren greeted enthusiastically, tearing himself from his maps to clap Soren on the shoulder. "I am fairing wonderfully this morning. The air is crisp and clean, no cloud in the sky. A perfect day for what is to come." Perhaps he were cruel, or bitter, or both, but he didn't dread the upcoming battle like many of his comrades. The thought of evoking eternal peace and prosperity between their worlds was something worth fighting for to Ren, and he'd come to terms with the fact that it may cost many their lives, his included. He also was extremely eager to save his friend Helios from Shiva's wrath, and he'd been counting down the days until this particular one arrived for some time. "I understand that you are our strategist, yes? I'm proud of you, Soren. Lord Raiden couldn't have chosen a better soul to do this task, if I may say so. Do you have your thoughts on how Shiva's army may be formed, or where her weakest points may lie? I'd love to hear a quick briefing, if you'd be up to sharing that is." He poured Soren a glass of wine, despite the early hour and the fact that they would be heading into battle soon. He extended both the glass and the map to the sentinel, wondering on whether he would accept either. --Everyth Castanova -- Mystras: Raiden's Villa-- A soft smile played on Everyth's ruby lips as she proffered Aura a nod, directing her attention back toward Rabiyu as she extended a rather heartfelt apology about not being able to provide her with similar armor to that of the twins. "Don't worry about it," she said, waving a hand carelessly. "Last time I fought your kind I was wearing naught but a simple dress and gauntlets from my world; I think even a suit of enchanted armor would be more than sufficient from Raiden's armory. But I appreciate the gesture." Everyth nodded respectfully toward Sifrei when he approached, placing a hand on her chest. "The princess has survived, thanks to your assistance, and I am indeed well. Had you not arrived, I don't know what would have become of us. It will be a pleasure serving in this upcoming war with you, Monsieur Sifrei. With my returned sight I hope that I can properly demonstrate my true power." Not that she was trying to brag, but she felt terrible that she was merely a damsel in distress the last time that they met, and she was desirous of proving herself. Especially to a potential candidate for marriage, despite a massive age gap. Her surprise turned into a playful smirk as Henry arrived at the scene. The man who was a wanted criminal in their world, a man who shared the same blood of a fey as herself. "Well, well, you managed to get here on your own after all," she said, mirth in her tone. "Tell me, Henry: does this make us friends now? Can you forgive me for being mean?" Her tone was playful, not sincere. She wasn't asking for forgiveness by any means, and Henry probably knew it. A part of her was indeed glad that the two would be working together now, however. She'd always been quite curious about the augmented individual and, in a very strange and yet literal sense, her other half by fey blood. 1 Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Elrandir 783 Posted July 21, 2017 - Sifrei Mond - Raiden's villa's main hallway -The Archangel went inside the villa after sensing the presence of the other angel already inside, Rabiyu had told him that the woman was with Raiden and Alastor so he had to find them. It took a couple of minutes, but in the end finding Raiden was easier, even when the house was full of servants and other feys. He manage to listen to the last thing this woman asked, a question about the current status of King Alexander."King Alexander passed away after the last war, I'm afraid," Sifrei answered behind Mariel, "I suppose summoning the barrier took the last remnants of his life, but the Princess, now Queen, took command of Kilkis Seres's forces and the task of keeping the wall between worlds after her father's passing."Sifrei looked at Raiden and Alastor and offered a small bow to show his respect."I am sorry to interrupt, Your Lordship, Master Alastor, but I felt the presence of another angel and I had to investigate," he said calmly, "It is not often than the Heavenly Host offers help these days so I had my suspicions, but if this individual is one you trust then she is an ally of ours."- Rabiyu, Aurion and Aura - Raiden's Villa -Rabiyu nodded at Everyth and kept looking at her after she explained how she fought a fey wearing simple accessories from the human world."That is quite the accomplishment, but you managed to survive a fight against a fey," she said with a calm and neutral tone, "and that is quite a feat, considering the difference in combat prowess between a fey and a human."The High Elf listened the news about the Princess and her current status, which was fine, but something in the eyes of the human and the way she was looking at Sifrei made her wonder what was going on in her mind. The siblings were looking between Henry and Everyth, it felt akward."I know we are not entirely friends, but let's try to get along," Aurion said nervously, "we're about to go to war and we will have to work together to succeed."The air around Rabiyu changed slightly, it felt heavier, a small display of power one could say, only to stop the humans from fighting."Behave, children, this is not the time to fight amongst ourselves. As Aurion said, we are about to go to war and we must trust in each other," Rabiyu said, "You can continue your bickering after this is over. If you survive, of course."If anyone knew the truth Rabiyu's comment would have been completely hypocritical, she was the one who kept tabs on every human, mostly Midnea, in the villa for the past couple of weeks, but she made the effort to keep an eye on everything. She trusted in the humans, for they were thirsty for knowledge about the overworld, and that was fine, but the Black Witch was a whole different thing. While everyone else was focused on other things Aura was trying to stop her hand from shaking, she kept looking at the Elf near her, trying to remain calm, she felt the surge of power coming from the fey, and that scared her even when they were allies and friends. If Henry was powerful by human standars then the Elf was many times stronger than him.
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted July 23, 2017 (edited) - Henry - The Dreadnought - Raiden's Villa - Henry crossed his arms as Everyth spoke, as he raised an eyebrow and a curious expression in his face the whole time as the woman spoke, and teased, and joked. She was genuinely happy and honest for some reason, well, it didn't really matter much but it was still weird. Henry turned his facial expression into a smirk as he began talking. First, to the siblings, especially Aurion. "Calm down, im not gonna do anything. I know restraint." He reassured them. Before turning to Everyth. "Yeah, I guess I am pretty resourceful aren't I?" Henry played along with Everyth for a moment. "Well it'l depend, are you going to try to kill me after this is over?" Henry replied to Everyth's friend statement, straight and to the point, Henry did not waste time, even if he had a casual tone, one could very well understand he meant it. Henry's did not change expression as the air began to feel heavier, and magical. He wondered why, yet it was nothing much, didn't even get the hair on his back upright. oh well. Henry simply glanced at Rabiyu, as he sensed it coming off of her. As he turned to Everyth. Extending a hand for a handshake. "As I was about to say. I'l trust you, as a warrior in battle, we'l settle everything else at another time, over a nice dinner." Henry spoke, with a more serious tone, but chuckling at the end "Ohh, the old show off your power with the surrounding air trick" "Talk about disrespectful". "You do that all the time though." "Well most of the times I do it is to send a message" "Whoever sent it surely wants to send one as well." "Sure they are, but they could try harder," "Cocky as always..." - Alastor - The Storm - Raiden's villa- Alastor simply nodded his head as Mariel greeted him and Raiden, Noticing her hesitating at calling Raiden, Odin. Alastor didn't think much of it, as he already knew of Raiden's past...at least what the man told him anyway. Alastor's eyes widened as Mariel spoke about a certain 'slipery' tongue fey. Which made Alastor chuckle a bit. "Don't worry about that...we know of this 'fey'," Alastor replied casualy. But as always, with a serious tone. Then another angel came by, Sifrei, one whom Alastor didn't had the time to speak to much during the past weeks. Either way, Alastor stood rather silent as he conversed with himself and Raiden. (Thats all for now, very stripped for time, will edit Maxis's part soon.) Edited July 23, 2017 by Scrapmaster
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted July 25, 2017 Jynn Venas-Kilkes Seres Helios made some bold statements, but Jynn couldn't help but agree. "I guess you're right....." All the sudden, the surrounding soldiers' attention was drawn back to the castle. Shiva has risen, and everyone is ready to head out. Jynn turns Mel around, but looks back at Helios. "Thanks for the talk. You stay safe out there, alright?" Jynn then begins to ride through the crowd to his mother. More than likely, Shiva would spot Jynn immediately due to Mel's unrivaled size and Jynn's scar. His eye has been healed, reviving its brilliant blue color, but the scar remains. He nears the Queen, and the surrounding soldiers bow to him, as he could possibly achieve his role as Shiva's successor after this conflict, should something happen to her. As soon as Jynn reaches Shiva, Mel greets her by nudging her with his muzzle. It is clear that he is completely oblivious to Jynn and Shiva's now troubling relationship. Jynn turns him around, facing the courtyard. Jynn informs Shiva that everyone is ready, but he refuses to make eye contact. "The soldiers and the mages are ready. We await for your orders......." rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted July 25, 2017 {Mariel: Mystras; Raiden's Villa} Mariel's eyes narrowed at Alastor's comment. So, there was someone else to worry about. She was about to ask Alastor to explain when her question about Alexander was answered by the exact wrong person. She half turned to look at Sifrei with a wooden look on her face. The angelic presence she had been trying to stay away from and come upon her during her distracted reminiscing. "Yep, definitely an Arch." She thought sourly. How would this archangel would react to a Guardian Angel who broke doctrine and had spent so long away from the Hosts? She could try to lie...no. She had been living a lie for nearly two millennia. She was tired of it and she had to face the angelic hosts sometimes. If this Archangel took her back to face Seraphim judgement, so be it. "M'lord." Mariel said to Sifrei, giving him an angelic salute. "I am Archon Mariel of the 7th Guardian Legion, the only survivor of the 7th and witness to the loss of the 3rd and 12th Legions." Stardustblade358 806 Posted July 25, 2017 - Helios - Kilkes Seres - Eve of War - All eyes turned as her majesty made her appearance, fully dressed in the royal garments of war. Those closest to her and the prince bowed, many others simply taking in awe. No one expected to ever be able to see their queen dressed so frightening, and Helios was sure that many never wished to see it at all. All in all, he worried for Jynn. If things went wrong, and anything happened to Shiva, he would be thrusted into the seat of command, and would not even be allowed to mourn. Then again, the same will be happening to everyone here. Soldiers, friends, family members. Everything that could have been avoided had they- "No." Helios hummed, shaking the thoughts out of his head as he watched the soldiers beginning to prepare for the grand march. Getting into positions, giving their final prayers and goodbyes as they waited for the signal of their queen. It was a death march. For a war to resolve a problem that was already in motion long before many of them were even born. "(This is going to be a needless massacre.)" He insisted, but never once broke his composure. He would keep watch on the front. With a heavy sigh, he allowed himself to turn into an eagle, quickly flapping his way upwards to fly over the army, and keep watch in the distance. - Morana - Kilkes Seres - Eve of War with Elia and Jari - Morana offered a somber smile towards Jari. "When we make it out of this, I'll show you all of the trees I carry around and why." Morana offered. She looked over to Elia, nodding slightly. "If we don't make it out alive...it's been an honor to have met you guys." Morana said, chuckling in the end as she did so. She nodded towards Jari, shrugging slightly as she began to move. "Let's find a place among the army, and hope we don't tire ourselves before the actual battle." (I'll add Arthur later, maybe.)
Elrandir 783 Posted July 26, 2017 - Sifrei Mond - Raiden's Villa -Sifrei watched the angel, Guardian Angel, with a calm look on his face, never giving any sign of distrust, yet her face revealed a couple of things to him, such as her fleeting intent to lie."Please, do not think of me as your superior, Mariel of the 7th Legion." he said with a small smile on his face, "There is no need, for I am the same as you, there is no rank in here."The Archangel felt the need to speak with complete honesty with this returning angel, one that apparently was stuck in the World Below."My given name is Ophaniel, a name given by my father, Lucafriel, or Lucifer if you so wish," Sifrei said while bowing slightly, "That name is used by members of my family, the name everyone else knows me for, the one given to me by my mother, is Sifrei Mond, judge from the northern continent of Caligo."Sifrei kept looking at Mariel, something told him that she was keeping something hidden, something related to her time trapped in the human world."Am I correct to assume that you fear retribution for the time you spend away from the Heavenly Host, yes?" Sifrei asked Mariel, his smile still on his face, "Fear not, Mariel, for I will not deal punishment nor take you back to the divine city to suffer the judgement of the Seraphim. Just like my father, I am not part of the Host or have an allegiance with them, I am neutral on their ways."Slowly Sifrei raised his hand towards Mariel, offering a handshake."It may not be the best time, taking our situation in consideration," he said, "but it is nice to meet you." Sora's Baby 729 Posted July 26, 2017 ~Aqua: Kilkis Seres Courtyard~ Aqua wore a light set of armor with a dark blue mage's cloak over it. As she fidgeted around the cloak swished around her body. Despite the fact, her magic had improved in the last few weeks she still felt as if her magic was underwhelming, it was problematic for her to say the least. She tightened her grip around her staff. If there was one thing that calmed her it was her staff ( that and fulfilling her sweet tooth, but alas that’s for another time.) it always kept her grounded to reality. Aqua took one deep breath, then another. Her nerves were frazzled. War wasn’t something Aqua had pictured herself being a part of. Yet, here she was anyway. Life was fond of putting Aqua into situations she never thought she’d be part of. Ever since she had chosen to follow Yev, Aqua's already upside now life had flipped even more upside down. She couldn't say it had been a bad thing. It was just that Aqua didn't agree with the war. The act of killing something was something she disagreed with. Even worst was the fact she just didn't see anything wrong with the humans. Yes, they had flaws, but so did every living creature. To top it off this war seemed to be based on another war from long ago. That was the reason she had agreed to Yev's (for lack of a better word) plan. She wasn't sure of its full scale or all it entailed, but it would end this war and stop all others from starting. At least, that was the idea behind it. Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted July 26, 2017 --Everyth Castanova -- Raiden's Villa-- "Well, I guess I can cross 'killing you' off my to-do list, or at least for the time being, since you are indeed helping us lowly humans." She laughed, before meeting Henry's eye and offering him a true smile, playfulness aside. Everyth gripped his hand firmly, her small pallid hand being dwarfed by his own. She did give pause, however, when the mention of dinner slipped from Henry's lips. "Are you asking me out on a date after this is all over, dear Henry?" she teased, brushing long locks of ebony hair off of her shoulder. "Well, I have so many suitors, you see, but I will take a look at my busy schedule once this is all over and see if I can't just make some time for you. Assuming that we both survive this, of course, unless you don't mind taking out a corpse." --Alderon Niles -- Preparing for war-- The enchanted sword snapped into Alderon's sheath as he released the hilt of his blade; he could almost feel the electricity dancing off of the cool, crisp steel. It had been quite some time since Alderon had stepped foot on the battlefield, though memories of war were still fresh in his mind. The screams of the dying, the tears of the living, and, of course, the many times your heart would pound in your chest out of fear when your head is nearly cleaved from your shoulders. This was naturally the first time that Alderon would be indeed facing fey in war, though that isn't to say that Alderon wasn't a seasoned soldier. He'd trained long and hard from the time that he was a mere boy, and he'd won many a tournament back at home during the festivities in Sondon. Combat was thrilling to Alderon, in a sense, though war wasn't particularly his favorite sport. Especially when so much was at stake. The king wandered down Raiden's halls, awaiting the hour before their troops marched to meet the ice queen's. He'd been poking around in hopes of finding Draksis, though his general and friend was, so far, no where to be found. He'd hoped to go over some briefing with him before the combat began. As he passed the halls he halted in the library, enjoying the aroma of leather-bound volumes and coffee beans. Alderon stepped inside, the footfalls of his boots echoing in the large silence. It surprised him slightly to find Midnea sitting in a red armchair, staring at a chessboard before her. A grin crossed his face as he strolled over, clearly in view so as not to alarm her. "Though I have known you for years, I never knew that you were a chess player," Alderon mused, gesturing toward the board with a gloved hand. "Would you care to play? I feel that I have a bit of spare time left on my hands . . . before I leave." --Curvis Sourati -- Raiden's Villa: courtyard-- The brunet sat alone with his back against a wall, holding dandelion fluff between two fingers as he watched all sorts of antics in the yard. First he watched the human twins battle against an ancient elf, followed by the (altercation?) discussion between the witch Everyth and Henry, both from their world below. All they spoke of was survival, war, and more anguish. Where was the beauty in all of that? What was the whole point? Was the renewal of the world below worth the lives of thousands, if not more, or would it be better to allow nature to run its course, and watch the world below die as it were destined? Depending on your viewpoint there were multiple ways that one could view it, though Curvis' current viewpoint was that their fighting was wrong. Regardless of how much he lied to himself, he didn't think he could draw a sword to a fey's neck if he had to. It's all about greed, Curvis thought bitterly, squeezing the dandelion fluff in his closed fist. Everyone wants power and superiority. That's all that this is about. Fighting won't really solve anything, when history will only continue to repeat. The root of the problem still existed, which would always exist unless society changed as a whole: humans and fey wanted prosperity and to be the superior race, though neither could obtain this if they always sought to be on top. This war, he understood, occurred two-thousand years ago, and here it was today. None of them should've come, he understood that now. There was so much he saw, and learned, and now knew to be truths since he arrived in the Overworld. It pained him that it took him this long to see it clearly though, sadly, none of his comrades shared the same view. It wasn't that he didn't voice it. In fact, he even encountered Alderon privately to discuss his concerns with the war. He explained his viewpoint and said that it wasn't their fight, they shouldn't even be here. Alderon merely blinked, laughed, and ruffled his hair. "You are but a boy, you cannot possibly understand everything there is to politics," he'd explained. And yet, Curvis felt that it was Alderon who was delusional and didn't understand, but he knew better than to argue. And thus was Curvis' position and current predicament. His steel armor reflected the sun as he continued to sit there, uncertain of the best course of action. What could he do, after all, being a mere human who saw the wrong of his own war? It wasn't like he could stand against his own race. Or could he?
Stardustblade358 806 Posted July 30, 2017 - Arthur - Lord Raiden's Villa - Searching for conversation with Curvis - "You've been acting off for the past few days." Arthur said, walking up to the fellow warrior with a smile on his lips. The news of the declaration of war had many reactions. Anxiousness, denail, excitement, so on and so on. Curvis had looked to be confused, and that scowl on his expression didn't help in diserting which is was it. "Surely the prospect of war isn't what we arrived for, but that's what we're trained for, aren't we?" Arthur said, proceeding to rest against the wall next to him, but giving him his space in any case. "To follow our king and his orders until the very end...or until he isn't king any longer." Arthur said. He did not see that much difficulty of it. Their world was dying. They needed to get rid of the barrier or at least gain resources. The queen refused, war ensued. It was a natural escalation. If fighting meant to help the people starving in the world below, Arthur would gladly do it. Maybe somewhere in this world was the cure for Visco, too. "What do you think will be the outcome of it all? Regardless who wins?"
Elrandir 783 Posted July 30, 2017 - Rabiyu, Aurion and Aura - Raiden's Villa -Aurion smiled as Henry reassured him that he knew restrain, which was a good thing. Aura, after finally calming down, kept looking between Henry and Everyth. Rabiyu was absentmindedly looking at Henry, he did not give any sign of discomfort by her small display, which was not THAT surprising, considering his situation, or that she didn't even used a small fraction of her power, it was the way both he and Everyth spoke that caught her interest, at least for a a time."That's some dark sense of humor, Miss Everyth," Aurion said, "not that I have anything against that."The High Elf looked between Aurion and Everyth, then she shrugged slightly."That may be possible, to a certain point," Rabiyu said to Aurion, "I've had the pleasure to meet a couple of liches in the past, a type of undead creature, until I destroyed their respective phylactery and consumed their immortal souls. Miss Everyth could become a lich and accept Master Henry's invitation to consume food, even if she could be considered a corpse."It was Aura's turn to look uncomfortable."You're joking, right?" she asked, a hint of nervousness in her voice, "Please, tell me you're joking."Rabiyu turned to look at the younger Aeternum and remained silent for a couple of seconds, which felt like an eternity to Aura."About Miss Everyth becoming a lich? that can be arranged, if she so wishes. About the Liches?" she answered, "No. I had an encounter with a couple of them many centuries ago. Consuming their souls? I jest."The High Elf stared absentmindedly at the space in front of her without moving an inch."Their souls are tainted and they wouldn't be of much use to me," Rabiyu said flatly, "Maybe for one of my fellow judges, he likes to study the undead. Personally, I find the art of Necromancy somewhat unappealing, but to each their own."
Vaude 536 Posted July 30, 2017 - Lord Raiden, currently with Mariel, Sifrei, and Alastor in the main hallway of Raiden's Villa - Raiden allowed himself a moment to think wistfully back on the ancient past, but a smile still clothed his mouth. His guess was correct, and this was his past teacher after so long a period of time. To think that she was in the world below was as much of a relief as it was a surprise. It kept her safe, being so far from harm's way, but it took an exhausting number of years to have her free to return from her makeshift worldwide prison. She did not seem to lose an ounce of her personality too, though that could have been his memory failing him. And then there was the other angel in the room, an affiliate of Rabiyu and another Judge of the North who called himself the son of Lucifer. This left a poor taste in his mouth, knowing of the name, and yet Sifrei would indeed prove helpful to his cause just as much as Mariel. Sizing up either was difficult and perhaps impossible without a greater search magic, but Raiden assumed heavier use of magical capabilities from Sifrei and that Mariel still had her sheer physical prowess. Sifrei seemed friendly enough, however, offering a hand to a complete stranger. "It gladdens me to see everyone getting along," the Lord of Mystras commented, enjoying the friendly atmosphere. "Mariel, you have come at a strained yet apropos time. War is building and escalating, and soon a fight shall break out. My spies have not told me much on the situation in Kilkes Seres, and I have not heard from them for some time. They might have been caught, or they fear being caught and are lying low, which makes me suspect that Queen Shiva is making a move like we are. "However, if we convey a message to them Kilkes Seres may be as good as ours if we defeat Shiva's amassed army. This war, as young as it is, will dissolve when the queen is captured or if the capital is taken, and at all costs this city here must not be taken. If not for our peoples, our meaning to fight will not have much meaning. The queen will want my capture as well, and I will not give myself all too willingly." A quick grin crossed his features as he thought about the situation. The conditions of winning the war were simple, perhaps so simple that they were unnecessary to state, but it would be long and arduous before either side could achieve it. He would be targeted by all of Shiva's war efforts, but paired with so many worthy allies and his own skills tested time and time again he felt victory was destined for him, and every enemy would fall before his righteous ideals. - Jari Coriander, currently with Elia and Morana in Kilkes Seres - The foxchild did not know exactly what happened, but as he was talking with Morana a very chipper Elia suddenly pounced upon him and entwined her arms around his neck. "WAH!" Jari cried out, flailing his arms about to regain balance and potentially brush the ecstatic fairy off. He felt like he lost ten years off his life just from that moment, and his timid heart beat much faster. "I'm glad to be here too, but Elia! don't grab me from behind like that! I'm going to have a heart attack before I do anything courageous, I just know it!" That last bit slipped out a little bit too easily, and the foxchild felt a bit embarrassed by the entire ordeal, but he managed to regain his composure. Troops were starting to form their ranks and take flight for the battlefield -- where it was, he did not know -- and he had to become strong for the war. He really had to do so. "We'll see each other again, all of us, and please be safe," Jari continued, attempting to calm his rushing heart and failing to have it go down to normal. Worry still ate at him, and he wanted to offer some advice still. "Just remember that retreat is an option, and don't do anything rash. I want everyone to be in one piece, win or lose. I hope we win, though." He offered a toothy grin at the end, trying to convince himself as much as he tried to convince the others. Why was it so difficult for him to balance being self-serving and courageous? Someday he hoped he would know. - Raleigh Marin, occupied with her final round of archery at Raiden's villa's courtyard - After the course of a few rounds, Raleigh could consider herself much better than her opening round. Her years of training under the longbow as a youth had paid off wonderfully, and though her arms were sore from the odd tension she felt very pleased with herself. Now at the very end, most of her shots were as harmonious as the twang of her bow, and all hit close to or inside of the bullseyes. The bow was of a superb make, that much she could testify. The bowstring was taut but not sharp, the limbs were made of wood and rings of a metal she did not recognise, and the use of a scope in a makeshift bowsight made things considerably easier by judging distance better. With the training session over, she huffed a satiated sigh and went over to the targets to collect the arrows once again, glancing over to the company of individuals once again. They were very animated, even the fey that wanted to approach and the augmented humans. Some flared their power and showed off their abilities. In a sense, Raleigh did too, but they paid her no nevermind, and she did not mind too badly. Her intent was show off to Curvis, but it did not seem like he showed any attention on her either, instead talking with Arthur against that wall of his. She frowned at this knowledge, but she guessed it was time to move on from her hopes. Perhaps there was nothing there at all between them, just an idyllic dream shared over a few charming dinners that never will surface.
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted July 30, 2017 (edited) Mystics Apprentice, on 19 Jul 2017 - 11:19 PM, said: --Shiva -- Kilkis Seres-- It certainly caught Shiva by surprise when Meksis entered the room, the other enchanted suit of armor that Maxis had recovered some time ago. -- Ren Mordecai -- Raiden's Study-- He heard footsteps before Soren made his presence known, a smile of his own stretching his pallid lips. Soren Monroe - Enforcer of Mystras, Lord Raiden's Strategist for War - Raiden's Study with Ren Mordecai: Preparing for War - Despite the oncoming war, Ren seemed unusually chipper about it all, perhaps he was looking forward to helping achieve peace between the worlds, maybe he was happy to fight by the side of his former Warden turned good friend, or he just can't wait for the thrill of battle. Soren felt it could go any way or all three, needless to say, he wouldn't have this any other way at this point, Ren had given him something to really live for after all, even given him some grounds for certainty in his goals. Regardless, Soren couldn't resist an almost bashful smile as Ren expressed his pride in him for becoming Raiden's Strategist. He was both surprised and not at all fazed when Raiden offered him the position, taking it gladly with little hesitation. Ren then poured Soren a glass of wine and slid it, along with the Map, towards the former Sentinel, requesting a briefing on their plan. "I would be honoured to do so, my friend." He spoke warmly, then he took a seat, adjusting the map a little before shifting his eyes up back to Ren, expression now more stern. "Now, listen carefully. Queen Shiva is an experienced monarch and strategist, more so than I, in both fronts. Do not expect an easy fight, you will die for sure for underestimating her. Take note, I've served with Shiva for over two thousand years, I know her well despite the mystery surrounding her, I also know how she fights. Her army is disciplined, loyal to the death and versatile. First of all, here, is the wall." Soren explained, then gestured along the map where Shiva's Palace walls were lined with his finger. "One of many steps that can make a Palace, Castle or any such structure into a Fortress. It is our ultimate goal should we win the battle. The other is a solid defense with a good, strong army. The bulk of Shiva's forces will consist of flyers, men and women who take to the air in a variety of fashions, mainly with winged mounts. She does not lack in ground forces, as Spearmen will take up the front lines and aside from the airborne forces, will be the first soldiers you see. Her airborne cavalry cannot fly forever, they'll need to swoop in to attack any of our ground forces, that's when we strike them. Otherwise, well-placed arrows and magical projectiles will do the trick of at least bringing them down to the ground." "Speaking of such, Magical Bombardiers will be taking the rear, only a few of them yet they will cause serious damage if they're left unchecked for too long. Anyone who falls to our assault will need medical help, that's where her Medics come in. Their Healers are far from defenseless but they will not be in the thick of battle, rather they will keep to the rear of either side of the battlefield, just out of harms way but close enough to provide invaluable support. Watch your flanks too, to the left and right, Shiva is full of surprises." "Any good army needs to keep their morale high and what better way than a General or some kind of higher warrior? Shiva will either preside herself as a Frontline General or she will keep herself safe behind her lines, maybe even her Palace, or rather retreat to the Palace if the going gets rough. Otherwise, I don't know whom she will choose as General, but I have a feeling you'll know them when you see them. Swordsman and more exceptional warriors will fill in for the Spearmen as they fall. What I mean by the latter is, well, anyone significant under Shiva's Banner and particularly strong in both tenacity and raw strength or power. Like the General, you'll know them when you set eyes on them." "We'll need to bear down the Spearmen, receive their pressure, then give it back to them in spades. Our forces will be split to cover all three main sections of our battlefield: The Center and the Left and Right Flanks. We will engage the enemy and take out the first regiment of Spearmen with our own, our backline will hound them with our own magical attacks and arrows, the latter from our Human forces with specialized gear we've provided them in order to stand even a remote chance here. Shiva's flyers will cause a myriad of problems, but any airborne forces we have can keep them busy while our ranged warriors pick them off. Any of them who survive being brought down will need to be dealt with in regular combat along with the Swordsmen. If at any point we see a more powerful Fey enter the fray, we need to take them out with our own, for instance me or you, Ren, to attack those powerhouses." "Their backline will need taking down and their Medics disposed of ASAP, otherwise we'll be fighting a neverending battle as both sides will continue being healed and tended to. Ours are at risk as well from any flankers or even assassins. They must be quashed and met with our own flanks upon their Bombardiers and Medics. If their backline crumbles, they're finished and vice versa. If the battle concludes in our favour, we march to Shiva's Palace and either we scale her walls or we tear them down. Whatever way we choose, it will only matter if we can withstand her unrelenting forces." "If I hadn't made it clear, their army is marching as well, both forces shall meet in the middle, as it were, meaning a retreat for either side would be an arduous task filled with further casualties along the way. This fight therefore, is do or die." Soren then took up his glass of Red Wine, drinking it almost desperately, he was parched and his throat was a little worn from the talking. Exhaling with a little relief, he raised the glass slightly. "Thank you for the wine, by the way." He uttered to Ren, taking another sip before placing it back down and putting his hands together, clenching them together. "Any questions or objections?" He postured to his friend, wanting his own views. "Keep in mind, this plan is, rather rough. The finer details have yet to be worked out, such as some of the terrain and, well...the fact that anything could happen." Soren added, making sure that Ren doesn't get too sure of himself in the field. - Meksis, Armour of Light - Kilkis Seres, Standing before Queen Shiva - Exhaling a sigh of relief, Meksis stood to attention, feeling amused as well, mainly due to his friend being, just, himself as per usual. He couldn't help but admire Maxis sometimes, especially now as he stood by his Queen, pledging to fight for her for as long as it takes. The sentiment warmed Meksis's metaphorical heart. The Queen then requested that Meksis gather their mounts, their mighty steeds, the horses for them all. "It will be done, your highness." He quickly said, giving a respectful bow and turning to follow Shiva and the others, as they were headed in mostly the same direction. As they emerged through the large doors into the Courtyard, the sight before them was one to behold: Soldiers, men and women, as far as the eye could see, all standing to attention and clad in armour. Meksis admired this sight, though he spotted one soldier nearer the front row who seemed excited, waving at the Armour of Light specifically. Must've been a fan, since he arrived, people took to his kind gestures, authority and the comfort his presence offered, though he was surprised to have a fan. He gave them a saluting-wave, which gave them pause, but they were delighted and more ready to fight than ever. Meksis allowed himself a chuckle, but when he turned in order to head to the stables, his eyes caught Shiva. She stood tall, steadfast and mighty, yet cold and unreadable. He couldn't truly tell what she was feeling, but Meksis imagined how difficult this must be, so before he left, he simply rested a hand on her shoulder. "Good luck, Shiva. We're counting on you." He uttered solemnly before departing, only allowing himself to sigh deeply when he was out of hearing range. - Nergal, Remnant of Meksis, The Dormant and Hollow Wind - Outside Kilkis Seres - Preparations for War were afoot. Armies on both sides, for Kilkis Seres and Mystras; two sides, once allies, now sworn enemies engaging in meaningless conflict that will ultimately bring bloodshed, misery...and the demise of a monarch. A soft chuckle rumbled behind the mask, the last thought was a desire of the man in white, not a guarantee...maybe. As he observed from the distance, in the shadows, he could just barely see the prominent figures who had emerged. Their army was no matter, they were the only ones of importance. He could see two, fully armoured figures...he had only heard of one Living Armour, the dreaded Maxis, now there was another? Yet the other...something was, wrong...he could smell it. There was also one who looked like a Valkyrie, she was the Queen's Retainer. A Succubus... "Pretending to be reformed, are we? No Succubus ever lets go of their primal urges forever..." His thoughts ended quickly when he saw the other armour leaving, and in following his movement he saw another: An Elf. Nergal grimaced under his golden mask, something about him seemed so very peculiar. Like he didn't want to be there... "Him. I must speak with that Elf...how am I to get in though...? Perhaps..." Nergal planned in his head, his mind racing, yet still he began a slow, hidden approach towards Kilkis Seres, to find this Elven interest of his. (As the great Gordon Ramsay says: DONE.) Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted July 31, 2017 - Henry - The Dreadnought - Raiden's villa - "Not looking to date a corpse, and im not looking to get stabbed in the gut while eating either." Henry replied to Everyth's dark humor with a serious remark, which probably told her everything she needed to know. "I am not doing this for Alderon." Henry spoke, flat and directly, with no emotion in his voice but a flat tone and a blank expression. To solidify the divide between him and Everyth, one was loyal to her king, and one following his motives and beliefs. Henry's expression and demeanor turned to pure confusion as Rabyiu began to speak about liches and necromancy. 'Little help here Ariana'. Henry thought for a second. 'Eh, forbidden magic, meant to bring back the dead, liches specially bind their souls to an object so they cannot die unless you destroy it.' Ariana explained to him. 'Thats messed up.' Henry thought, 'You don't know the half of it.' "Right." Henry said flatly as Rabiyu ended her undead talk. Still with a perplexed and weirded out expression in his face. - Alastor - THe Storm - Alongside Raiden - "In the end it'l just be a battle of attrition, whoever can seize the most territories and disable their supports will win. And Just like a bulding will crumble without a foundation. An army will crumble without morale." Alastor spoke, staying beside Raiden the whole time. Alastor crossed his arms as he looked at Mariel, the woman certainly looked like, and had an aura of an angel, Sifrei did as well, but Alastor hadn't had much interaction with him to give any opinion. Honestly? Alastor did enjoy himself a good war, Been a long time since he could practice in all out combat. Though he doubted his allies thought the same. Placing his hands on Raiden's shoulder, Alastor turned his head to his ruler. "We need to speak about one thing, still Raiden. What about our little 'friend'?" Alastor spoke to him. His tone and way of speaking pretty much epxlained itself to Raiden. He was talking about The Dreadnought. Who not that long ago came to the villa, and offered Raiden his assitance, a man who turned out to be a human, nonetheless. How he got the overworld was a mystery to everyone, but he never told anyone. "What will we do to him after the was is done?" Alastor asked him. - Maxis - The Armor - Kilkis Seres - Maxis was awfully quiet after all of it, even moreso after Shiva offered him a position of general. One of which he would like to have...if he wasn't psychotic. And well...cursed. It didn't take long after Jynn's argument with his mother to cause a massive shift in his seal with Shiva, since it fed off a part of her magical force. Miniscule ammount, unnoticeable and with barely any effect on her. Throughout all these years, however when she felt the emotional anguish of her son rejecting her like that...something changed. The seal began to be undone, maybe by the sudden spike of emotion, maybe through sheer time, it didn't matter. Maxis's old powers began to spill out, in secret of course, he wished not to worry anyone. But he feared that if anything were to happen to Shiva, Not only would he lose the will to live, since she was the sole thing keeping him emotionaly stable (or unstable). It would also mean that. 'he'. would emerge. His old self. The unrestrained vortex of madness and destruction from ancient times, to which the armors were designed to seal. Each armor sealed a different evil, of sorts. No wonder the project failed... He could not allow Shiva to fall, for his own emotional good, and the world...
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted July 31, 2017 -Eclaire, with Shiva- The woman blushed. "I'm the one supposed to promise you that..." she whispered. She didn't hold onto Shiva...not now. The Queen had to be a Queen, and she...merely the Retainer. She stood beside her as the doors opened...then slid a hand over and grasped her own. She nudged her with a foot, nodding if she looked at her. You can do it. The woman wouldn't stay in contact for long. She'd let Shiva go and not interfere should she need to speak, there for emotional support above all else. -Jeremy, the flight to Mare Septim- His flight was quiet. He had much ground to cover, many places to pass by. He knew that Xion and Takao would go to Mare Luxuria to regain the city, but he had to regain Raz. He had to. He was his best friend, and right now his greatest ally. Shiva's greatest ally. His wing beats were powerful, not aiming to fail but aiming to succeed. The curse had no chains, it had no bearing. It would break as the night broke for the dawn. It. Would. Shatter. "Daedalus! Mare Septim is nearing the horizon!" Called one of his soldiers. The Icarus nodded. "All forces...prepare for combat. Aim to wound, not kill. They are brethren. There is no need to lose life this day." The unsheathing of swords met his words. He held out his hand, summoning his magic greatsword. "Let us go, my friends. We must succeed."
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted August 1, 2017 --Queen Shiva -- Leading away her troops South toward Mystras-- The hand of her other enchanted armor friend fell upon her shoulder, causing the ice queen's gaze to rise up to meet his helmet, eyes boring into the place where Meksis' eyes would have been. "Thank you," she murmured softly, so that only the two of them could hear. When she felt Eclaire's hand meet her own she gave it a tight squeeze, offering her a sideways smile before slipping away to the head of the show. The queen's expression told nothing as she moved forward, coming to a halt upon the final marble step which led down into the courtyard, where all of her brave men and women awaited her. Ice emerged from where she stood, freezing the entire step on which she stood her ground. She pretended to pay no notice. "My fine men and women, who serve in the name of Kilkis Seres," she spoke loudly, hopefully audible enough for all to hear, or at least those closest. Shiva was naturally quite soft-spoken, so even her shouting was mild at best. "Thank you for coming here today. It is the day that we shall march for the good of the realm, for the peace that has known our world for the past two-thousand years. It is in honor of our late king, my father, King Alexander, that we march forth on this day, for he has shown us the necessary path to peace. The peace that has permitted us to laugh at the thought of death, to continue to raise and know our families without fear, without dread that one day we will be separated from them for an eternity. It is with much sorrow that Lord Raiden, ruler of the Mystras land, has decided to breach this peace with his actions"--she placed a hand on her chest, bowing her head momentarily in sorrow--"but we shall rectify his actions today. "Today, we will return the humans to their own world, where they will not threaten our lives and belongings. We will not allow them to draw our blood for their petty, selfish whims, nor will we allow them to take what is rightfully ours by birth. Our bravery will be rewarded with our continued freedom and salvation from the cruelties of humanity!" Shouts and cheers resounded throughout the courtyard, from the many who have sworn their lives to their queen and country. Shiva nodded out of respect. "Now, may we ride victorious! May good fortune be upon you all!" In mere moments Jynn approached, Shiva's hand gliding along Mel's nose and forehead as the massive pegasus nudged her. She could sense the distrust and rift between herself and Jynn as the prince spoke, the fey refusing to meet her eye regardless of how hard she tried to catch it. "Very well," she said, voice strained. "Jynn, I will have you lead on one of our fronts, though I must implore you to be careful. I--" I love you, my dear boy, she wanted to say, to grasp him firmly and plant a kiss in his soft locks of hair. I don't know what I would do if something were to happen to you. She didn't want him out there, to fight at all, and yet there was no stopping him. Heck, there was probably little influence she did have left on the young man, save for holding his title of Bherna's father upon his head and protecting himself for the girl's sake, if not her own. "There are those who rely on you, little Bherna included. Please remember this when you're out there on the battlefield." She stepped off her icy perch, moving away from Jynn and toward her own ride that had been brought for her: a unicorn with a silver coat, its eyes a deep sapphire blue. Almost childlike, she buried her nose into its mane, patting its head as though greeting a good friend. Shiva mounted her unicorn, nudging it with her heels to move forward. Slowly their numbers began to follow suit, and eventually they were on their way. --Yevgeni Malachite -- En route to Mystras-- The blond clapped politely at Shiva's speech, a slight smile tugging at his lips. If only Alexander could see her today, he thought idly to himself, lost in thought, he would be so proud at what she has become. Yes, it seemed that Shiva would follow her necessary path, the one which would ensure that they all lived in peace and harmony. Intervention may not be necessary after all. Of course, after the war it was possible that she would be perceptive for council. After all, shouldn't proffering sanctuary to the good humans match her whimsy, once the world below had finally met its match? If he'd learned anything about Shiva in her years, it was that she wasn't set in her ways. Easily could she be persuaded in any one direction. Or, at least that was Yevgeni's take on her. Yev glanced over toward his fellow mages, emerald eyes pausing upon Aqua. His shoulders stiffened, head tilted slightly to the side. "I know neither of us wanted it to come to this," he told her gravely. "War is not what we were born for, but if all goes well we'll have the true peace that we've desired, one where good will prevail always. You will see." He wanted to apologize. He wanted to tell her that it was his own selfishness that caused this. He wanted to tell her to go home and forget that any of this was happening. But he couldn't; there was only so much that even he could do. His discussion in Mystras went the way that it had to, and the result was what would have to come to pass. It was inevitable; he'd accepted this fact long ago. It was seeing the cost, however, that made his choices start to sting. Not that he would re-do anything; no, he had no regrets. Yev left the other elf briefly to come alongside Meksis, gesturing toward one of the horses with a white coat and mane. "That one is mine," he told him calmly. "Thank you. And I will be taking this other for one of my mages." It was a statement, not a request, and Meksis could probably tell that any amount of protest would've led up into a fight. -- Elia Cabret -- En route to Mystras-- "Oh, Jari, don't be such a spoil sport," she chided, hands on her hips. "A little scare is good for you! Tests the heart to make sure it's still in tip-top shape! Or so I've heard." She fell silent long enough to listen to Shiva's speech without interruption. It was brief, yet encouraging, and Elia probably cheered louder than many of those within the vicinity. Horses, unicorns, and pegasus were being offered around, where Elia managed to get a white-winged pegasus that she immediately wanted to name "Snow," despite her original name being Nymphadora. "We can still ride together," she offered to her friends, the sound of beating wings near-masking her words. --Everyth Castanova -- Raiden's Villa-- A look of disdain crossed Everyth's face as she wrinkled her nose upon Rabiyu's proffering. "Oh, thanks, but no thanks. I think I will take my chances with the afterlife should I make an early departure from our worlds," she said, waving a hand as though passing away a disturbing thought. She then turned her attention back toward Henry, letting out a sigh. "Henry, dear, you truly are no fun. Always so serious." She tapped Henry's nose with an index finger before offering him a girlish smile. "You have to live a little, you know? I understand that you have no interest whatsoever in helping me, my king, or my country, though I am still gladdened that you are willing to fight for humanity. Perhaps that alone is something that I admire about you. But I suppose that thought never crossed your mind." She turned her back on him, prepared to leave, glancing over her shoulder at Aura and Aurion. "You two should stay close to your elven friend. She can protect you, which you may need out there. We'll be fighting beasts of an entirely different color from that which we're used to." Of course, Henry could probably protect them, too, but she wasn't going to mention that. She was slightly offended by him. Or maybe it was just his rejection of her corpse at dinner. --Curvis Sourati -- Raiden's Villa -- Curvis jerked his head up in surprise as Arthur approached. Somehow he hadn't heard him coming. "Oh, hello," he murmured in greeting, allowing the dandelion fluff to fall from his outstretched palm as he braced his hands on his knees. "I have seemed off?" He pretended to sound surprised, though it probably didn't work. Him and Arthur were good friends, their bond increasing during their time here in the Overworld together. He let out a sigh. "I don't know, Arthur," he said, gaze shifting over toward where the Aeternum Twins, Henry, and the others stood. "When I thought about going to war I thought it would be to save our kingdom from invasion. I didn't think it meant fighting another race that just doesn't want us here. I feel like we're invading, you know? Imagine how we would feel if we were them; I can't imagine it'd be any better." There was only so much that Curvis dared utter. He couldn't let out his true thoughts, and how he was considering desertion upon arrival at the battlefield. That would be considered treason, which would easily be worthy of death then and there on the spot, and how heartbroken his friend would be then! He caught a glance at Raleigh across the way, who seemed to have glanced at him briefly. The image of her at dinner that night in her lovely grey gown only seemed to further infuriate him, her blatant rejection the following day followed by her immense fascination with a fey man she'd met. Why, she'd probably be perfectly content if she never returned home! She probably hadn't even spared him a single thought since he proffered her bread sticks. "I really don't know what the outcome will be," he said, finally meeting his friend's gaze. "Probably another war in a millennia, maybe further famine in our world. It is difficult to say. I'd love for all of us to be happy, but I guess people are just never satiated with what they have, huh?" --Ren Mordecai -- Raiden's Villa-- The redhead seemed truly fascinated by what his former Warden had to offer on the situation. His attention was riveted as he explained Shiva's probable positioning, and ways to counter her strategy. Once Soren was finished Ren drew in a breath, studying the map and mulling over Soren's words in order to digest it. Eventually he nodded. "That sounds like an excellent plan, Soren," he replied, taking a long drink of wine before gesturing toward the map again. "Rough or not, I can tell that you put a lot of thought into it, and I believe it will work well. I agree with you that the medics should be taken out first and foremost, as they will prove to be the most problematic in the end. Even though I too served Shiva many years ago, I cannot say whether she will serve as general or appoint someone else to do the job. It has been years since I have seen her men, though she didn't seem to have any favorites, nor did she appear to put any in a position of authority. I trust that we will know, as you said, whom is acting as general, and perhaps we can clue in others to look for signs as well. "For assassins I would recommend that Raleigh human woman that we were both conversing with over breakfast a few weeks past. She was a hired assassin with impeccable skills with a bow. I think she would do well. Beyond that, I would like to appoint myself for early capture of the queen. If we can capture her we could probably ensure the closure of the war early, but I trust your judgment. I will be stationed wherever you see fit. However, I will not be able to maintain my dragon form during the entire duration of the battle, so perhaps we can time it just right. Yes, everything was becoming all the more real. A soft smile stretched Ren's lips as he nodded toward Soren. "You have done marvelously, my friend. I am sure that Raiden will be more than approving of your plans. I will see to it that we have our rides near ready, as well as find out when we are to set off. I believe that I saw some of the higher-ups in battle armor already." Soon you will be free, Helios, he thought to himself. Just hold on. 1 Nero Kunivas reacted to this
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted August 1, 2017 {Mariel: Mystras: Raiden's Villa} Mariel's eyes narrowed as Sifrei introduced himself and his lineage. She knew the name Lucifer. It was not one she would trust easily. But as a possibly fallen angel herself, it was perhaps not her place to judge, especially not his child. She took Sifrei's hand in a strong, sure grip. "A pleasure to meet, Ophaniel." She greeted. "If you do not mind me using that name. It is good to meet another angel, though I doubt my return to the hosts will be well received, for more than my time among humans." Raiden's explanation of the situation matched the bits and pieces Mariel had put together herself. Another war. Part of her was thrilled. The joy of battle lives in the heart of all Guardian Angels, Mariel included. But the wise ones among the Guardians knew to curb that desire. Battle was a means to an end. A way to ensure a greater good survived. "While I've been out of touch for a while, I would honored to try to make contact with your spies in Kilkes Seres, or escort another to do so." The former Archon offered. "The sooner this war is ended, the better off everyone will be." She raised an eyebrow at Alastor mentioning a friend, but didn't comment on it. Stardustblade358 806 Posted August 2, 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G09CK_hCEP4 - Arthur - Lord Raiden's Villa - Conversation with Curvis - Arthur played with his fingers, pulling and picking at them even when covered by gloves as he listened to Curvis. "...I wish it could be like the fairy tales." Arthur began. "Where the hero saves the world and they all live happily ever after. Yet, our world is dying and now we are at war with an entire new species and continent. But it doesn't change the fact of why we came here in the first place; because we are dying." Arthur said, gripping his own hands tightly. "We are dying, Curvis. Our fertile soils are perishing up, our animals and crops are dying on us, our waters are drying up. Small towns are vanishing from the map as the population retreats further and further to their respective cities. Sure, it might be a long, long way before that happens. Before we even suffer from it. But what about those that come after? I don't think I could live so easily with the thought that there could have been a chance to save the human race from extinction, and instead ignored it out of morality. I want to understand that if I were them, I would react the same way. To fight tooth and nail to protect a land that belongs to one by birthright. But..." Arthur frowned, his gaze turning rather cold. "This isn't a fairy tale, and there are no happy endings so easily given. Her majesty has known for many human generations that this so called barrier between our worlds was slowly killing us. Yet she didn't do a thing. She didn't even think that we would ever even figure it out. That we would remain ignorant forever and die while her kingdom flourishes with every day passing. By all means this world belongs to them. But the energy it absorbs...it used to belong to us too." Arthur said, looking up at Curvis. "This war is happening, one way or another. I understand her majesty's concern, for as a Queen she watches for the well being of her people. But our king does as well, and right now...it's the only option we have left. Unless a miracle blesses us with a miraculous compromise. But until then...I will fight for the sake of a possibility, the strand of hope that hangs in front of my eyes that the human race, that our world can be saved, its progress of death reversed just in time." Arthur paused, catching himself in a breath he didn't realize he had run out of. He was tired, no, not tired...he was scared. Scared of the outcome. Scared of what they had gotten themselves into. Would they emerge victorious? If they did not, what would happen to them? Worse, what would happen to their world? Would the Queen bring her wrath upon them to satisfy her rage towards humans? Would she leave them alone? Would all of these soldiers die in vain of a silly dream? He pursed his lips, looking up at the twins and at Henry. "...They spoke with the Queen, I heard, as well as the obvious fact that they helped the fey escape. If you want a chance of a possible alternative...I think you're good off starting with gaining information from them." Arthur gave a wary smile. "I'll have your back out there...you're not alone." - Morana - Kilkes Seres - On route to war with Elia and Jari - Morana listened to Shiva. Her words and presence alone captivated the soldiers all around them. Some were in awe, to see their queen dressed with the royal battle armor, something many never thought they would live to see. Others listened closely, taking her words to heart with proud smiles upon their faces. A radiant beauty, loved and respected by all. By the end of her words, roars of cheers and cheerful tones spread across the men and women. With the Queen's signal and blessing, they began their march. Morana smiled at Elia and Jari. "I can't fly. You guys can head in the sky, I'll follow closely on the ground." Morana said, beginning her march as she followed the mass of soldiers around her, all heading in one direction. Endless Thundaga 533 Posted August 2, 2017 Jynn Venas-Heading to Mystras alongside Shiva Jynn could somewhat understand what Shiva wanted to say to him, she is his mother after all, he knew her better than most fey. She clearly doesn't want him in this battle, and he doesn't want to be either. But he must participate in order to possibly fulfill his role as a prince. If it weren't for that, Jynn would not be in this conflict. He then commands Mel to walk alongside Shiva's mount, and while doing so, Jynn tries to comfort her. "Look, I know we have different views on the subject at hand, and I am very disappointed that you kept the truth away from me for centuries........" He quickly thinks to himself. It still kind of makes me want to hit you with a stick. He then finally makes eye contact with her, the thing he deprived her of for the last few weeks. "......but you're still my mother, and I will always love you." He looks back at the soldiers behind them. All he could hear was the sound of footsteps and clanking hooves. He faces back to her. "If it will make you feel better, I can have my troops stay outside of the city, making sure nobody makes an attempt to escape and try to raid Kilkes Seres. I bet that's one strategy Raiden has thought of."
