Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted April 24, 2017 --Queen Shiva and Yev -- Kilkis Seres-- The queen was relatively stunned as Henry spoke, unmoving and expressionless. Her lips stiffened, the only indicator that his words sunk through the ice. They wounded her. She didn't dare herself to speak, nor did Henry wait around for a response. He'd excused himself on his own, with Shiva not even bothering to stop him. Next came Helios who leapt in front of her, expressing his thoughts on the matter of the barrier. The queen's eyes widened at Helios' words, his compassion for all living things. A bead of a tear formed in the corner of her eye. "You should not concern yourself with these human's affairs," said Shiva gravely. "What is done is done; everything put into place is necessary. While I wish for there to be another way, to abolish only the evil from both realms so that we may be unified once more, I'm afraid that is an impossibility." And then there was the deal she had made with Raiden: she would permit his research into lowering the barrier if he could find a way other than costing her life, though even now she wasn't sure that enacting it would be a good idea. Especially after learning the human's motives and that Midnea was at the heart of them. A part of agreed because she didn't want the world below to be condoned either, but she couldn't let those feelings dictate her rule. No, this was the best solution for her people, but why did it feel so wrong? On that note Eclaire spoke up in favor of the queen, to which Shiva was immortally grateful. She began to rest a hand on the young woman's shoulder in thanks, watching Helios with a somber expression. "It is all right, child. You are a very curious one, and I know that you want what is best for everyone. I wish it were that simple, though I am afraid it is not, for all of the reasons that Lady Eclaire has explained. If it is for your friends that you worry, let me assure you that the destruction of the world below will not happen for a very, very long time still, perhaps even another millennia. Your friends will be long gone by the time their world is uninhabitable, so they are in no danger. If they were, I would permit them to stay here indefinitely. You have my word." Except for that one, Shiva thought disdainfully, thinking of Henry and his arrogant response. Her, playing god? Was he serious here? He had no idea what he was talking about, and with that destructive power that he possessed . . . . She could only imagine what kind of damage he could do if he didn't get his way. The queen turned around to face Eclaire, her expression girlish and worried. Shortly behind the succubus was the elf, whose expression was a bit more unreadable than usual. "I would like to speak with you both privately," she said at last. "There's some grave matters at hand, some of which I've recently learned and others that may require our attention. Would you both join me in my study, please?" At this Yev bowed his head, resting a hand on his chest as golden locks fell over his shoulder. "Of course, My Queen. Anything that you ask." Truthfully, he would've preferred to chase after Henry. There was something rather curious about the man, entertaining even. He wished to know more about his power, what drove him to the lengths that he went. He had mentioned his powers being from Ariana; had more than just her abilities transferred over to him? He had many burning questions, ones which only Henry could answer, but to excuse himself now that he'd earned the queen's favor was going to be out of the question. Both left the throne room, crossing several halls and arriving within Queen Shiva's study, Eclaire most likely in pursuit. The queen sat down at her desk, arms folded neatly. She eyed the two intensely, her voice partly cracking when she asked. "This barrier . . . . Am I truly evil for it?" --Curvis Sourati -- Raiden's Villa-- The brunet watched as his friend made his way over to Midnea. His eyes darted over toward Raleigh briefly and for a moment met her eye, though quickly broke his gaze and followed behind his knightly friend. "Yes, hello, Lady Midnea," said Curvis smoothly. "I hope you are well this morning. You have seemed rather tired from the journey to this world." He sat across from the woman, placing his own plate in front of him and considering a piece of bacon. Finally he bit into it. "I'm glad that Lord Raiden has been kind enough to permit us staying here a little longer," he said at last, carefully approaching a topic of mutual interest to the three of them. "Do you suppose we would be able to find a cure for the princess in this length of time, at the very least?"
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) Jynn Venas - Kilkes Seres Courtroom Jynn could only stand and listen to everyone turn the courtroom into a madhouse. But, Henry and Helios do call out Shiva for believing that all feys are good, to which Jynn knows is not true. But at the same time, all this hostility only proved that the barrier is needed. Also, his mother has apparently not told him the condition of the world below. Was there other things she was hiding from him? He was mentally torn, and has no idea who to side with at this point. But then Henry was done arguing with Shiva, turning to Jynn letting him know that he is heading out to the courtyard, as well as sarcastically trying to ease Jynn's worries of being attacked by him for no apparent reason. Then the Aeternum Siblings follow Henry, leaving Helios, Jynn, Shiva, and Eclaire in the courtroom. Eclaire makes a speech as well, in an attempt to prove Shiva's claims. But what Shiva says next truly shocks the prince. She exclaims that the world below won't become inhabitable for another millennia, which angered Jynn. He even snarls at her, but she didn't notice. He doesn't speak out loud, but he does in his head. So, you'd rather just let the world below rot instead of actually helping them? I may not be quite ready to rule, but I know that's a horrible way to maintain peace up here! You pretty much put everyone in danger! Now if the humans discover our prosperity, which they did, then we are a massive target! Then Shiva orders Eclaire and Yevgeni to visit her in her office, leaving Jynn and Helios. Jynn faced downwards in disappointment. All these years, his mother was hiding the fact that she chose to focus only on keeping the Overworld at peace, sacrificing the world below in exchange. He then orders the guards to leave the room, to which they do. He then faces back to Helios. "I cannot believe I've been told that everything is okay, when it's really not. Her hatred of humans is now obvious to me." He turns his back. What more was Shiva hiding from him? He faces up to the balcony to which Shiva usually sits. "I hope I am able to do something about all of this when I am crowned.........." Dawson - Mystras, heading to Flowering Hyssop, delaying his travel to Milos Dawson was not satisfied with the latest fight, as it was the first time in his life that he felt useless. Not only that, but he made a bad impression on Alastor, and now the latter probably views the Palico as a waste of time. As he approaches the mule-drawn carriage, the coachman notices him. "Ah, Dawson! Are you ready to depart?" Dawson lowers his head. He did not feel proud of himself, perhaps a drink will lighten him up. He then shakes his head. "No, I need a drink. I'm not myself right now...." The coachman nods. "Take all the time you need. The Flowering Hyssop is open." The Palico then quickly walks to the building. Dawson enters the bar. It was quite beat up from the duel between Yev, Rabiyu, and Baxter, (unbeknownst to Dawson) but it was still fit for operation. It was also quiet, as it was still morning. He finds a seat up at the bar table and asks for a drink. "I'll have a bit of ginjõ-shu sake, please....." Sora's Baby 729 Posted April 24, 2017 ~Aqua: Walk Toward Kilkis Seres~Aqua didn't mind the walk. It was how she did most her traveling after all. Needless to say, she hadn't spoken a word since the group had started to walk. She kept herself busy with her own thoughts. Her bad feeling had become a headache by now. Every now and again she would tune into Elia's prattle, but mostly she tuned it out and thought. She couldn't shake her bad feeling, it wasn't going to go away unless whatever it was about was dealt with. She heaved a large and heavy sigh. This day wasn't going to be remembered fondly. Aqua looked over an Elia who had stopped for the moment to rest. She fiddled with her staff nervously while she waited for their rest to be over. "Ice-cream, huh?" She muttered to herself. Aqua knew there wasn't time for such things right now. "Maybe later Elia. We have more important matters to attend to." Oh, how she wanted to eat something sweet. Sugar had always been there to help her went she felt low in the past.
Stardustblade358 806 Posted April 25, 2017 -Helios - Diplomatic Showdown - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), Henry, Queen Shiva, Prince Jynn, Eclaire, and Yev- Helios looked up at the prince. He seemed distraught, and conflicted. Who wouldn't be? He had just found out truths that were once lies and myths. He was a kind prince, and everyone awaited for him to one day take the throne and rule as fairly as those before him. Helios stepped towards the prince, eyeing the watchful guards as he reached out to touch his shoulder. "Your mother is only one person, my prince." Helios said, trying to bright a tad bit of comfort in...well, whatever hell this all had turned into. "There is only so much one person can do while watching over a whole world, nevertheless two. Her...priorities as Queen are for her people. What is best for them. Sadly...The humans of the world below do not fall under that rule." Helios said as he let go of his shoulder, stepping back again. What a difficult situation. Worse part, none of this would have most likely happened had they had obeyed the damn rules in the first place. Though...Henry and the Queen mentioned someone else. Another person banished to the world below. What about them? Helios shook his head out of the thought, smiling at the prince. "I wish to thank you for volunteering to help my friends, my prince. I owe you a favor." Helios said cheerfully, trying to lighten the mood a tad bit. It was his one and mortal flaw. He was too kind and too trusting. - Morana - Towards Kilkes Seres - Rufus, Mikhail, Typhon, Aqua, Jari and Elia - Morana had to admit, the sound of ice cream sounded tempting. She hadn't had one in...who knows how long. She wasn't often entering cities, instead staying as far away from them to avoid bothering the local population. Would she be able to digest it after so long? Hopefully. The entire way she had been more than happy to bring up conversations to both Rufus and Typhon, much likely to Typhon's dismay. His eternal poker face didn't allow her to know if the conversation was working or not. But hey, she tried. Morana turned to Aqua, smiling at her softly. She seemed absorbed in thought. So she would try and form a conversation up with her too. "A flower for your thoughts, Aqua?" Morana asked. "You've been rather quiet the whole way here. You feeling well?" Endless Thundaga 533 Posted April 26, 2017 Jynn Venas - Courtroom in Kilkes Seres with Helios Helios tries to comfort Jynn. He speaks the truth. Queen Shiva could only do so much for the Overworld, but at the same time, leaving the world below to rot is something to take note. Both worlds are suppose to live in peace and prosperity so one does not become greedy and interfere with another. Jynn then faces back to Helios. "I understand it's a lot of work. But still....." Helios then thanks Jynn for helping his friends and the fact that he owes Jynn a favor, which causes the prince to chuckle. "Nah it's okay. It's the least I can do. By the way, you don't need to refer to me by my status. I understand it's proper etiquette, but I actually prefer to hear just my name, you know?" Jynn then faces the front door, gesturing for Helios to follow him. "Come on. You can visit your friends a little longer. I need to tack up my horse to a carriage anyway." Bherna Lao - Kilkes Seres with Izanami Sisters Bherna backed away a bit in shock after seeing Xion's arm. It was very gruesome to see, but Bherna could not help but look. Xion apparently head been exiled from her home because of this infliction of hers. Bherna had no idea what to say. "I..... I'm sorry to hear that...." Takao chimes in to say that she does not share the same infliction, but rather, she is protected from it. Then a random stranger comes to have a brief conversation with Xion about the deterioration of a place called "Luxuria". Bherna has never heard of such a place. The stranger then apologizes to Bherna and departs after one last word with Xion. Bherna is quite confused about the situation. "Who was that? And what is this "Luxuria" place he was talking about?" Stardustblade358 806 Posted April 28, 2017 -Helios - Grand Hall - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), Henry, Prince Jynn- Helios looked up at Jynn and nodded. They had a few more moments. He might as well say goodbye properly too. "Right! Thanks P-" Helios paused, clearing his throat before continuing. "Jynn." He corrected, before following Jynn to the courtyard. They were there, waiting for whatever awaited them. He wanted to ask something before they all left, now that they had the chance. Helios hurried over, grabbing a hold of one of Henry's arms playfully. "Henry!" Helios said before letting go and getting in front of him. "I...wanted to ask you something before you left." Helios said as he looked up at his eyes. "You saw Ariana before they took her away to isolation, right?...her blood runs through your veins. That's obvious now." Helios said as he gently picked up Henry's hand, poking at the palm of it. "Did...Ariana say anything before the ritual? Did she go down with a fight?" Helios asked. There was one Ariana he remembered...he could only hope that she fought until the very end. "She was always stubborn when she wanted to be...you two would have gotten along, I think." Helios added. Who knows what would happen if he knew the truth. Or that Ariana could hear. He would have so much more to ask.
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) - Eclaire: With Shiva- Eclaire bowed, and followed Shiva. The touch sent a brief shiver, one she did not understand...but it felt good. Once Shiva did ask, though, Eclaire...looked away. "In life, I found within ask way few short years that we cannot ever make a perfect choice...that we cannot always succeed, or save everyone. You were given a choice. To risk further war, to risk your people and your own family...or put a barrier up. Shiva...you are the Queen of the Fey. Not of the humans. You are responsible for Jynn, Maxis, Felicia (please tell me that's the maid), everyone who belongs to your Kingdom." She paused. "For me." She finally added, a reminder that she only was there because Shiva. "Humanity mad it's choice. They chose hatred. Selfishness. This Alderon chose to torture two Fey for his own gain, his own ambitions. If one ruler does this, how can we trust humanity as a whole...when they refuse to depose such a monster." She took a breath. "It was necessary for peace. And you are not evil for putting the safety of the Fey, your people, above others. Even Henry puts his people first. There is only subjectivity within this sadness. Not evil." - Izanami Sisters, with Bherna- Xion turned to Bherna. "Within the Overworld, there are four angel cities. Mare Septem, to the West. Mare Luxerion, to the North. Mare Regem, to the East. And Mare Aurum, to the South. Beneath each if these cities is a corresponding demon city. Mare Luxuria is the Succubus Capital. My former home. My former regency." She didn't seem very phased. "That was Jeremy of Hunter, the Daedalus of the Icarus Angels. He has this tendency to show up and be cryptic. It's when he seems perturbed, is when it means something." She turned to look at Bherna. "Your grandmother, if you would. Takao has a message." She said the last bit kindly, her stoic demeanor fading. Edited April 29, 2017 by Sabre Lily
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) - Henry - The Dreadnought - Shiva's castle Courtyard - 'What caused you to care about your world so much, you seem so different from the other humans' 'You mean the ones that tortured you.' 'kind of, yes. You're not a cynic, unlike them.' 'That supposed ot be a compliment?' 'Not really..."Crimson Death..." 'How do you know...' 'Oh please Henry, our minds are linked, we are one, except only I have the privilege of fussing through your mind' 'So then you know...' 'The countless raids on enemy villages, the kills you had, the innocent people you killed The capitals you ravaged alongside your fellow knights' 'Shut up'. 'The familes you ruined...and the event that started your rebelion.' 'firetruck you...' 'You're a murderer Henry, you know it, I know it. Everyone knows it, its in your aura, and your appearance.' 'Im not like that now'. 'Ooh how you're wrong. You still are...you merely repressed those feelings...those memories...your past self...you're running away from who you are...the naive child who thinks he what he is doing is right'. '...' 'No words huh? Fine, i'l leave it at this for now...' Henry left the hall frustrated and angry, but also very disappointed, so this is how it was to be. Complete inaction to the world below's impending doom, because of the fear of war between the two. An outcome that could be prevented, albeit it would be tough to do so. But with the right allies and actions it was possible...too bad. Either way, Henry was now without many options he could either go along with the escort and be brought back to the world below, and watch it die. Or stay in the Overworld, somehow and try to change his world's fate, some how. He couldn't really think about it much, as he had to deal with the constant death glares the guards would give him and the aura of hostility that emanated whenever he went. It didn't take very long for Helios to catch up to him, grabbing his arm playfully. The following statements of the boys's understandable curiorisity surprised and horrified Henry, as he was not ready to give such an answer yet. There was a prolonged silence before Henry decided to speak, as he looked visibly sad and distraught at the question. He turned, his back facing Helios as Henry's eyes began to glow a dark purple color for a second. "...Tell Helios...Im sorry." Henry spoke, breaking the awkward silence between them. "Thats all she said before the ritual began. Before she had her life force and blood were drained from her in order to give me this blasted power." Henry spoke, clearly distraught and in a strange mix of sad and angry. "Im sorry, but I don't remember much of it as well. The ritual put me into a week-long coma so there isn't much I can say." Henry spoke as he turned to face Helios again, his face that of a regretful man. "As for the events afterwards...Its best you not know." Henry followed. 'Helios...' 'I hate not being able to tell him the truth' 'Still, its best this way, knowing would just hurt him more' 'I know' 'On a side note, are you really going to go back to your world?' 'Im not going anywhere' Henry's mental conversation with Ariana went on. The latter sounding hurt and sad, with Henry sounding emotionless but regretful. - Maxis - The Living Armor - Shiva's study - "You're stubborn, but you're not evil". Maxis spoke, as he emerged from the shadows within the dim light study. He and Meksis had arrived a short time ago, he had arrived just in time to hear the discussion between Henry and the Queen though, and while he wished to kill Henry for hurting his queen with those foul words. he couldn't blame the man for doing so, it was his world that was dying after all. And frankly, he had a bit of respect for the man's bravery...albeit it was foolish. "You know this is not the 'Good' thing to do, but its the necessary thing to do". Maxis explained. "Im back!" Maxis gleefuly announced. Only to meet an awkward silence..."Bad time?" He embarrassedly finished. WHere was Meksis now? Well there was two outcomes, either he had headed to Ivany's study...or he followed him into the study, and had only needed to step out and reveal himself as well. (More posts coming). Elrandir 783 Posted April 29, 2017 (edited) - Aeternum Siblings - Shiva's castle Courtyard - Now this was embarrassing, Henry left in such a hurry that the siblings actually lost sight of him, instead they were wandering the halls of the palace, the guards following their very moves while the servants just gave them a curious glance every now and then. "How did this happened?" asked Aura, "It makes no sense. Henry left mere seconds before us, and yet we lost him." Aurion was looking inside the different rooms, watching the different kinds of fey, every new room was a new kind. "I don't know what went wrong," he answered, "but we should keep looking for him. I do not think he was in a right state of mind after what the Queen said." The Queen, such a cold hearted woman in Aura's eyes, sure, she didn't knew the circumstances for that, but at this point it was useless to speculate. "She condemned a whole world, our world, and for what reason?" Aura asked quietly, she wasn't sure if that was public knowledge, "I know humans are not inherently good, but we try to do the right thing, maybe not everyone, but some do, as I am sure the dwellers of this world do too." "Aura, don't think too much about that," Aurion said to his sister, "We do not know how this came to be, and there is no point in speculations. Instead, let is focus on finding Henry." With a sight Aura nodded and followed her brother. A few minutes later they noticed both Henry and Helios in the courtyard, they walked towards them, but they could catch pieces of the conversation. "Sorry, to interrupt, but you left in such a hurry," Aura said to break the silence, "We lost sight of you." Aurion was out of breath now, the reason was for the bag that Helios gave them before, a bag that he put on the ground. "This thing is heavy!" he said calmly, "We really need to take our time to split it. Thanks, by the way, Helios. Now that Henry (and Gel?) is here we can share this gift you kindly gave us." - Sifrei Mond - Royal Training Grounds of Sondon Castle - It had been some time since the Archangel found something rather strange on the battlefield, sources of Arcane energy, one strong and few weaks, and so he saw the source of the person whose arcane source was bigger than the other, a fey. "I thought Queen Shiva de la Alexandria had prohibited the descent of her subjects to this world." Sifrei thought, "And yet there is a fey fighting against the humans. One of which possesses Arcane energy." The fight had been very one sided, that was to be expected, these humans barely had a chance. One was apparently unable to move for being in unbearable pain while the other was apparently blinded by the fey's previous attack. And then she arrived, the infamous Dog Princess, another faint source of Arcane Energy was coming from her, but it was not hers, there was something strange, dark, like that feeling when someone used dark magic. "What an interesting little human she is," Sifrei said, "She came to the battlefield all alone. And apparently to save these knights, her friends, perhaps? I cannot allow her to get hurt." It was at that moment that the fey swung her claw downwards at the knight, she was going to kill her. At that moment everything slowed down once more. Sifrei looked around and noticed the red haired man moving towards the fey and the girl on the ground. Friend or foe? Friend, probably, but just in case Sifrei walked towards the fey and the knight, he watched as the red haired man grabbed the fey's claw, impressive, for a human. The Archangel then picked the girl up and walked towards the Princess, he then laid her on the ground close to the Princess and time, once again, resumed its normal rhythm. "You really shouldn't be here, Little Princess," Sifrei said to Visco, as he suddenly appeared close to her, with Effie. "It is quite dangerous for someone like you. Just look at the state your friend are." Sifrei moved Effie's hair to look at her face, she looked like she was in so much pain, something that he had to fix. The Archangel touched Effie's forehead with two of his fingers and the whisperings began, whisperings coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time, normal people wouldn't be able to hear them, but at least those with a link to the Arcane could hear, to any one looking it would seem that Sifrei was only touching the girl's forehead. Sifrei was using a healing spell to help the poor girl while the red haired man was taking care of the fey. Once this knight was a little better, he was going to try and help the blind one. "Do not listen to her, Little Princess, she doesn't know what she is speaking of," Sifrei said to Visco, "She is born to be cruel, but only the weak are cruel. Gentleness can only be expected from those strong of heart." Edited May 1, 2017 by Elrandir
Vaude 536 Posted April 29, 2017 (edited) - The Infiltrator, currently in a moonlit/sunlit meeting in the streets of Mystras (What time is it? So confused.) - The Infiltrator looked at the two in surprise under the shelter of his mask. These two were rather trusting of each other, it seemed, or maybe Alastor was rather trusting of her. He himself could not afford to broach the subject of trust, not with one outside of Mystran influence, but he felt this information was at the very least true or felt true. So there were some that were not accounted for, thought the Infiltrator, perhaps spies under this King Alderon's orders. However, why would they be searching for a weapon? Was it the weapon? Alastor mentioned the vault. Yes, it could be so, and that bodes ill for us all, having that weapon handed to someone who can be considered an enemy. It was locked up for a reason, and I regret saying that it was not kept hidden enough. And Alastor . . . you are normally tight-lipped and chastise Raiden for being loose-lipped. Would it not be best to be so with her as well about the humans, even if she shares no love for Shiva? "True or not, I am glad to hear that you are neutral in these affairs of politics. It interests me that there are other humans that are not accounted for, though it gives me great discomfort realising they are seeking a weapon." He looked at Rabiyu with a small pause, internalising rapid bursts of thought garnered through many conversations with Lord Raiden. This is The Lady of the Mists. The rest were Yevgeni, Jynn, a traveling mage, and a few minor fey. Is her friend Yevgeni or the traveling mage? No, Raiden found out the name of that traveling companion to Jynn. Alicia was her name. She must have been the mage, not being minor in any way in his eyes. That leaves Yevgeni as the most probable suspect. Perhaps so, or maybe someone was hiding their identity and nature as an anonymous individual. And then there's this creature. He looked down at the ashes of the creature he and the other's had taken down and recalled that odd sensation. Perhaps Alastor would have known more information on it, as he could not pinpoint exactly who he got that vibe from, if it was even a person with which to begin. "Storm," he started towards Alastor, "you said you were hunting this doom hound. How did you catch wind of its existence? Something about it seems familiar." - Lord Raiden, currently in his study talking with Ren Mordecai in the reading study in Raiden's villa near Mystras - Raiden looked at the youth with surprise, quickly deducing that the man in front of him was none other than Ren, the one that ventured into the World Below and received a fate worse than death or exile. Imprisonment in Isopolis, according to his past knowledge on the subject, was reserved for the most secret or dangerous of individuals. In this case, it seemed like it was more of the former. But why was he freed, and who freed him? It was certainly not under Raiden's own orders, though he could definitely use whatever aid he could get. The trouble was lying to him, however. As soon as he would say that it was not he who wanted him freed, Ren would most likely not owe him any gratitude beyond relieving his great thirst. He smiled when he felt like frowning. That much lying he could do as he reached for the glass and the pitcher and gave Ren a full cup of ice water. "Be my guest," he replied, still deep in thought. "In fact, all of my storeroom is open to you, Ren Mordecai, though I have some unfortunate news to break to you: I was not the one who freed you. I had no idea where you were, in fact, and Isopolis' depths are not wholly known to me, though had I known I would have been the first to make an attempt." A flash of a well-meaning smile appeared on his lips before fading. "As much as I am glad to hear of your rescue and freedom, there is still the matter of your friend, Helios. Being a prisoner there might make a rescue attempt for Helios more successful should it come down to that, but it would be better to confront the queen about it directly. I have a feeling she will listen to me, and that you and he will most undoubtedly be great allies. "For now, however, you should get some rest, food, and, if you would like, a change of clothes and a quick bath. I have much to prepare for and may need your services shortly, so I would rather have you in good health and spirits." His hand rose to the top of his cloak, pulling off what seemed to be a button or a pin. He held it out for Ren to see, revealing it to be a small decorative medal made of ochre rock and decorated with a chevron of silver. "In the meantime, pin this brooch to your robes. It will prove to the guards that you are recognised by me and should give you access to much of what my villa has to offer." ((I will try to get Raleigh's, Jari's, and Rufus' post in later.)) Stardustblade358 806 Posted April 29, 2017 -Helios - Castle Courtyard - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), Henry, Prince Jynn- Helios felt his chest tighten up as he listened to Henry. It was brief, yet enough information for Helios. I'm sorry. "(No.)" Helios thought, gripping his fists tightly. "(I'm the one who's sorry. I should have fought harder, I should have looked for you, I should have done something, anything...!!!)" Helios thought, gritting his teeth before shaking his head. He could not change the past, even if given a chance he would. But what he wouldn't give to be able to talk to her one more time. To see her smile and hear her laughter. He wanted to know more...but he knew better than to push. Maybe it was best if he didn't know the details. "Thank you, Henry." Helios said, taking a step forward as he reached out and grabbed Henry's hand. "I'm sorry that everything turned out as it did, and that you ended up become a subject to the experiments that took place. But...I think that such power is in the right hands, right now. You're kind and determined, and very stubborn. If someone can make a difference for good in the world, it's definitely you." Helios said with a soft smile. "I know it hurts. That it feels like a curse to you. But you cannot turn back the past...so turn this curse into a gift, and don't give up, alright?" Helios added. Henry's energy was unstable. It had been off ever since he stepped into the hall. He didn't know what it was, but he hoped it didn't turn out badly. Henry surely didn't deserve more crap after so much. Helios' attention was turned to the siblings as they caught up, and thanked him for the bag he had brought. Helios let go of Henry's hand and clapped his hands together softly. "I'm sure you'll have time for that at the prince's estate. When my mom heard my story from the bird I sent she was ready to fly here herself. Oh I really wish I could have taken you guys to my home! My mother and father would have LOVED to meet you. Though I think that if you stepped in it would have taken an army to convince my parents to let you guys go, haha!" Helios said, feeling much better in the courtyard. The fresh air, not to the mention the flowers and the endless chatter from the birds and small creatures that called this place their home made Helios feel more comfortable than he would inside the castle. -Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Breakfast with Curvis and Midnea- Arthur took a seat on the other side of Midnea, picking up a few fruits from the baskets and settling them onto his plate before sitting down. He ate what seemed to be able apple, though it had a sour taste to it, and was colored purple. Or something of the sort. He listened to Midnea, and understood her concerns. They had spent some time and preparation to come all the way here. To return empty handed, not even allowed to explore further or create any connections or anything, was a hard blow to accept, if it could even be accepted at all. Especially when it came to the cure of the princess. Things were going so well, and just as suddenly things began to go down hill. The king really had his work cut out for. He fully understood Midnea's concern. "Well, we have to remember what lord Raiden told us. That humans used to coexist before something happened and the worlds had to be separated or something like that. I think it's a valid concern of the queen to question us showing up into her kingdom unannounced. Would it not be the same if a bunch of them appeared in our kingdom under the same circumstances?" Arthur asked, taking another bite into the fruit. Politics and relations were such a pain, but at the same time he admitted that it was an art on its own. This was just another game, just with higher stakes. The comment of the feys and whether or not they could trust the people of this world really made him worried, however. Could they trust them? They had to, didn't they? After all they did receive them and took them in and offered them all possible comforts. Despite all the bad trust was something vital in the whole thing. But could they? Should they? Though he admitted Midnea's admiration for the King was admirable and respected...even if some others didn't agree. "Well, we're in a foreign land, as guests. To try and anger anyone would not do any good. Right now we just have to trust that we can come up with a plan or something that turns the tides to our favor." Arthur said, his tone cheerful as ever in hopes of keeping it positive. He hated seeing anyone sad. Even if it was Midnea.
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted April 30, 2017 -- Queen Shiva and Yev -- Kilkis Seres: Queen's Study-- The elf's gaze remained unblinkingly upon Eclaire as she spoke. He took in every feature of the woman, from the loose strands of hair upon her head to the shoes on her feet. He'd never seen her before, but apparently she was given a high status with the queen during his leave of absence. And yet, he found nothing in her words that he disagreed with. Once Eclaire was finished the blond gave his nod of approval, offering Eclaire a slight smile before turning to the queen before them both. "I entirely agree, Your Majesty," said Yev. "You have sought to accomplish the task that your late father has set out for you, and I daresay your rule has been even more glorious than his. Your people are satisfied and everyone is living prosperous lives. You have taken the necessary steps to ensure the safety and happiness of your people, and that alone is your goal"--he gestured toward Eclaire with a gloved hand--"and I couldn't have said it it better myself: you are the queen of the fey, not humans. It is not possible for one to govern both worlds, and if one attempted such a thing it would never be justified, nor would it work." Shiva turned her gaze between both of them, her expression sorrowful. It looked as though she'd just aged ten years from the time that the trial had begun. "Thank you, both of you," she said at last. "You are right. It just pains me that such a choice must be made. Lord Raiden desires to remove the barrier and unify our worlds again. While he means well, I do not see how this could work. "If there was some way to restore the world below, though." Shiva propped her chin in her palm, staring out into the distance as she pondered the matter deeply. Suddenly she jerked her head up, life rekindling in those deep amber eyes. "Perhaps there is a way. Can we somehow share our magic with the world below, without removing the barrier? That way their world could live and we can still remain separated." A deep frown furrowed Yev's brows before he slumped into a chair in front of the queen. "I do not think that would be such a good idea," he replied, spreading his hands out on the desk. "Even if we were to somehow deliver magic to the world below it would only last briefly; we would have to keep supplying them with magic in order to survive, and even I do not know of such a magical item that could provide their world with such fuel. "Besides," he added after a moment of silence, "can we really trust the humans with magic, should we provide it to them? After all, when some of our men went down there they were drained dry to create augmented humans. How should our offering of magic be any different? Instead of fuel their world they would probably opt to augment themselves and begin civil wars, no doubt with this King Alderon at its head. Regardless of our actions it would not end peacefully; humans do not work like that." The queen pretended to ignore Yevgeni, instead turning to Eclaire. For a moment their eyes locked. "What are your thoughts?" At this Yev's eyes narrowed slightly, watching with intent curiosity on the sincerity and tenderness in the queen's voice. She always softened and seemed more gentle, more at ease whenever interacting with this woman. Why was Eclaire so important to her, and so suddenly? Who was she? --Ren Mordecai -- Raiden's Villa: grabbing some water before a snack-- Without hiding his eagerness, Ren grasped the glass of water that Raiden poured and gulped it down in one continuous motion, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand when he'd finished. All the while he had listened to Raiden's explanation, which caused him to frown in confusion. "Hmm, that's a shame," said the redhead with the utmost amount of casualty, pouring himself another glass shamelessly. "I wonder who this fellow was, then. He said that you were summoning me because I was needed for your cause." He drew another long drag of water, though did not down the whole glass in one go this time around. The glass hovered near his lips for a moment before he sat it back down, deep in thought. "Perhaps this man was working independently for you and thought you would need me. Regardless, I owe it to him for freeing me, and thus to you, for it was you that he directed me to and wished for me to serve. And besides"--he rolled up his sleeves, which continuously fell over his hands while he tried to make gestures as he spoke--"it seems we have a common interest in stopping the queen of her evildoings, specifically but not limited to torturing others and hating those who aren't her. "Oh, and by the way," Ren added as an afterthought. "You probably know this already, but I have been to the world below. It is what cost me my freedom, but I'm beginning to think there's other reasons why Shiva is keeping us from their world besides conflict. I could be very much wrong, but I have been thinking about potential theories along this line for years, and what I have come up with is this." He rose his index finger, as though preparing to give a dramatic speech. "I think she has done something to their human world, because it is now in shambles. It's but a wasteland of our world, and I even heard that only some parts of their globe have fertile soil for their crops. This is not how the human world was recorded in our history books from two-thousand years ago. Something has definitely happened. I am assuming that you are already aware of this, however, hence your mission to unite our worlds." --Everyth Castanova -- Sondon Courtyards-- There was very little that Everyth could make out beyond the pleas and screams coming from her comrade. She thought that there must be something she could do--but there wasn't. She was tired, blinded, and now weaponless after her throw of the broadsword. It was all she could do, however, and her last ditch effort to take down the demon that they faced. When she heard the familiar young female voice something knotted within her stomach, which Everyth immediately recognized as dread. Visco had come. After all of their efforts to keep the princess safe, she found her way back to the battlefield, and now they were all going to die in vain? No, Everyth could not allow this. "No, Princess! You must get away! There's nothing you can do but survive for us. Please." She knew that it was too late; Pracia was too quick, and strong. It was the princess that she was after, and now she had walked right into her clutches. While Visco was decent with a weapon, Everyth knew that it would matter not in the face of an enemy such as the punisher. Everyth could feel the wetness of her tears on her slick cheek, tears she hadn't even realized she was shedding. They were all done for, or so she thought. Strangely the screaming stopped; either Visco was in complete shock of her friend's death, or something happened that had interfered. Everyth did sense something strange on the battlefield, though she had no idea what was going on. "Visco?" she said weakly, hoping for some reassurance that the princess was still alive and well. Perhaps Pracia had decided to kill her first. Oh, what she would do to have her sight return; she was so useless like this. It was then she heard the sound of another voice, though it was unrecognizable to her. The individual was speaking tenderly to the princess, at the very least, which did bode well. --Curvis Sourati -- Raiden's Villa: Breakfast feast-- A sigh escaped Curvis as he bit into a slice of bacon with a very loud and audible crunch. He didn't know why he was expecting a pleasant conversation between themselves and Lady Midnea. She didn't seem particularly happy to have them in her company, though she didn't reject them, either. He attempted to compose himself and give Midnea the respects that were required of him. "Yes, of course. You have my thanks, milady. You have bought us valuable time, which we will need if we want to make any progress on our ambitions before returning home to our world." He also feared that she made their stay in the Overworld ever more dangerous after provoking Raiden the way that she had, but he didn't voice this. He nodded toward his friend after he'd voiced his words of wisdom, which were surprising coming from the young knight. He was wise beyond his years. "I agree. We need to find a way to prove our earnestness and sincerity to Lord Raiden before we leave," Curvis added. "There must be some way that we can assure him that he can keep us here. Maybe some kind of truth-telling spell or something." Admittedly Curvis had no idea if such a thing were to exist, but it seemed like a good idea if it did. Endless Thundaga 533 Posted April 30, 2017 Jynn Venas and Bherna Lao - Kilkes Seres When Helios goes to see his friends again, Jynn takes a long look back towards his castle, specifically, Shiva's tower. Mother. Why have you been hiding truths from me? Did you think I would never find out? He turns back to the square and briefly watches Helios and his friends meet one last time. I better not let anything happen to these humans. He then emits a whistle in an attempt to call Melstrome. Bherna was surprised by the fact that there are more lands in the Overworld than she was taught, but she remained silent. But then Xion tries to remind Bherna that she was to see Shiva, to which Bherna quickly remembers. "Oh, right! Please forgive me. Grandma's castle is straight ahead." As she looks forward, she hears someone whistling. It was her father. Melstrome quickly canters to him. Bherna then runs up to him as well. Mel passes by the humans. Should they notice him, they would see that he is a massive horse, standing 18 hands (six feet) to the shoulder, dwarfing most horses down in the world below. Just him dashing by causes a very windy gust in his trail. He soon comes to a sliding halt in front of Jynn, much to the prince's surprise. He even takes a few steps back to avoid colliding with the gelding. Bherna soon passes the humans as well. Jynn notices Bherna running up to him, and kneels down to hug her. She is happy to see him again, and is relieved to see that he is okay. "I'm so happy that you are okay Dad." Jynn replies quietly. "Same here." He looks up to see the newcomers that were with Bherna. "I see you've made some new friends. Who are they?" Bherna looks back to Takao and Xion, then looks back to Jynn. "That's Takao and Xion. They came with information for Grandma." Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 2, 2017 - Alicia - UltraViolet - Flowring Hyssop - Alicia had stayed a good long while at the bar, taking a few drinks, all on the house, out of gratitude from the owner for her stopping the baxter incident or out of fear of her magic, didn't really matter much, it was free, so she didn't complain. her body, tolerant and resistant to alcohol as always, she downed what seemed like five glasses of the bar's strongest drink. She was an avid drinker, believe it or not. Something you pick up by traveling, if there was one thing each culture had of unique...it was their drinks. Alicia noticed a cat, no, a CatKnight Walk into the bar and order some sake, pretty strong drink, in fact. This caused her to motion herself to sit next to Dawson as she smiled. "didn't know cats liked Sake". She tried to start a conversation as friendly as she could start one. "You got a name?" - Alastor - The Storm - Streets of Mystras - Alastor listened intently as Rabiyu spoke her side of the story and gave them what information she could. This made him satisfied enough to give her her payment he promised. "Here" Alastor spoke as he threw Rabiyu's way a pouch filled with coins. About six hundred of them overrall. Good payment, as these coins were worth quite a bit in Mystras. It was the only currency he really had anyway. "Theres the pay I promised. You're free to go" Alastor spoke to her, sternly and serious as always, before he turned to the infiltrator. as the man began questioning him as well. "Believe it or not it didn't have the form of a doom hound when I was tailing it. It had the form of a red knight...who was accompanying Midnea, That witch. I overheard some of her conversation about Jynn when the prince left. I figured I couldn't let it go, so I opted to go after it with Raiden's permission." Alastor spoke. as he cleaned his blades before sheathing them. "Didn't expect it to turn into a Doom hound, however." Alastor added, before crossing his arms. "Either way, That Midnea is plotting something, but we cannot accuse her without evidence, lest we want to start a war with the humans. And I think the fey's have had enough dealings with making an entire race extinct. Remember the Cyphs?" Alastor spoke harshly, almost mockingly as the last part. "I had friends in that village..." Alastor mentioned before being silent for a few seconds, "Lets go back, report this to Raiden." Alastor spoke, without adding anything else. As he promplty walked off, hoping the infiltrator would follow him. - Typhon - The Disguised Bug - En route to Kilkis Seres - Oh what had Typhon gotten himself into, not only was he wearing this ridiculous disguise, but he had all these people he didn't know...but he couldn't distrust them, after all, they helped him take out Jimba, and did not attack him or report him, this was worth something. "Whats an Ice cream?" Typhon asked, curious. Almost like a child asking something for the first time. His voice witha clear curiosity in it. "I don't think i've ever tasted it before...then again I haven't tasted many things." Typhon added, his voice muffled below the mask. "I just hope I won't get searched down. It would be bad." Typhon added sarcastically. - Maxis And Henry - The Living armor And the Dreadnought - Courtyard of Kilkis Seres - Maxis and Meksis arrived just in time to listen to most of what the discussion on the hall was about, about Henry's brave, but foolish actions towards the queen, while angered Maxis greatly, it gave him a bit of respect for the man. After all not many have the guts to talk back to royalty, and even better, he made him stutter! Something that was even more rare, as the queen was known for her icy stare. "Well thats something you don't see everyday eh Mek? Sorry, I expected your welcome to be more...you know...silent" Maxis sarcastically spoke as he and Meksis stood now outside in the Courtyard. Maxis with his back leaning against a wall. "Seems like I can't introduce you to the queen yet, she needs to cool off after that..." Maxis spoke, as an idea came over his head. "You know what?" Right then another Maxis materialized right beside Meksis, with an arm over Meksis's right shoulder. "How about I pit you agains that man eh? He's human...well...Human mixed with Fey blood, should be a good warmup to you, see if you still got the skills I remember you having?" The Maxis clone spoke. Then another Maxis showed up, on opposite sides of Meksis and the clone. "You don't really have a choice...so just go with it..." It commented. As the original Maxis quickly walked off towards Henry and company. Henry Was left agape at what Helios told him. 'Turn my curse...into a gift?' Henry was surprised, in utter shock. 'But...how?' Henry was battling with these thoughts as Ariana was simply silent. He turned towards the twins as they mentioned how he ran off and they had lost him. "Yeah...sorry about that." Henry spoke kind of embarrassed. "But THe queen just pissed me off, figured i'd need to cool down a bit...sorry for bringing you two into this" He apologized as they soon spoke about the bag Helios had given them. "Doesn't look heavy to me" Henry cockily remarked. As Helios began to speak about his parents. "Come to think of it you never mentioned you had parents Helios, I'd love to meet them as well...though I think i'l have to leave whenever the prince deems so." Henry remarked with genuine care and kindness in his voice, putting aside his emotional problems to talk with Helios and the Twins. As Friends. "An army wouldn't be enough with me there!" Henry cockingly remarked again. He was pretty full of himself, even though it was mostly talk and no bite...until he was mad of course. "You know Hel-" Henry was interrupted as Maxis walked into the scene. "Hey there kids!" Maxis spoke in his regular nonchalant manner. Turning his head towards Aura and Aurion. "You got a cute sister, Some of the guards have been eyeing her, so keep watch, who knows if they're gonna try something." Maxis commented. Before turning to Helios. and chuckling. "Welcome to the 'Loyal servants of Queen Shiva' Club Flyboy!, look forward to working with you." Maxis spoke with genuine enthusiasm in his boice, before he turned towards Henry. "You...How's your arm?" He asked his voice with a mockingly tone. "Better now that you mention it." Henry replied, with a serious tone and expression. As Maxis simply shrugs it off, "Hey no need for hostilities, I was only protecting my kingdom...though I meant the part about you being a splicer of both Fey and Human blood. Regardless, I have a proposal for you." Maxis spoke. "Would you like a new sword?" Maxis asked. As Henry simply smirked, "Depends on the sword." He replied. "A good, strong, way more reliable than the dinky piece of crap you were using." Maxis spoke, as he snapped his fingers as a Sword materialized on Henry's hands. A longsword, like his last one he gave to Aura, but this one was with a more grey color and more slick design. As well as having a feint magic energy coming from it. "Should work well with your magic...you can keep it if..." Maxis spoke, as he pointed towards Meksis, who was being dragged by the two Maxis Clones. "You beat my friend or reach a draw with him...on a fight to the death." Maxis spoke, as in that moment the entire atmosphere in the courtyard had darkened, everyone, even the Twins could feel such a turn. "Hey Mek, this is the guy I was talking about. You up for it?" Maxis asked him a rhetorical question. "Who is he?" Henry asked. "Oh yes how could I forget. Introductions!" Maxis spoke as he vanished from between the two and appeared to the side. "Meksis, Henry, Henry, Meksis." Maxis spoke. "Say hi". "Uuhh...Hi?" Henry simply followed along. Before shrugging and throwing the sword to the ground. "But im not fighting." He spoke seriously as Maxis simply laughed. "Oh Henry Henry Henry...You don't have a choice..." Maxis spoked as the sword simply materialized in Henry's hand's again. And Maxis teleported to Henry's side and pushed him forward, a few feet towards Meksis, who had no more clones pushing or dragging him. "This is a warmup for My friend, and im not letting you off here, especially not after insulting my queen. so thats why im giving you this ultimatum....fight or firetrucking die," Maxis spoke with his voice sounding more demonic as it went. "Or fight and die, that works too." Maxis spoke as he laughed like a child. He then pointed at Helios, Aura and Aurion. "Don't interfere or else." Maxis threatened them, the atmosphere intensifying the threat. As the entire courtyard began changing into what seemed like a medieval arena...ahh the wonders of illusion magic. "I'l let Meksis speak before starting." Maxis finished. 1 Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Elrandir 783 Posted May 2, 2017 - Rabiyu - Streets of Mystras -Rabiyu stared at the pouch filled with coins while Alastor talked with the Infiltrator. It would be rude to say that she didn't had any need for gold, but who was she to tell Alastor what to do, instead she put the pouch inside her cloak. This time she did listened to what was being said, it was somewhat interesting, more so when the name of the Cyphs appeared, their tale was a sad one, one worth remembering. Alastor then walked off, but Rabiyu still had to fullfill her mission. With quick and silent steps she catched up with Alastor."Forgive my forwardness, Master Alastor," Rabiyu said calmly as she walked next to him, "I see you as the one with the most authority at the moment, and I would like to request a meeting with Lord Raiden to discuss what I just told you."She hoped that her request could be fulfilled, besides, she was the reason that they learned about the humans wandering the city, that had to be enough, maybe."If you will be reporting this to Lord Raiden, I wish to ask for your and your companion's permission to be allowed to be there when you give your report," Rabiyu said while biting her thumb, "That way, when you report my presence and the fact that you have three unaccounted humans wandering the city, I could ask Lord Raiden his reason to open the barrier."Rabiyu looked at Alastor, her face calm and without any hint of emotions."I have confirmed that Lord Raiden is playing host for the humans from the world below." She said quietly, "but that is not enough information for my King and Queen. I must listen to Lord Raiden's reasons to open the barrier, and report those reasons to King Asura and Queen Leviathan so they can reach a verdict. Either help Lord Raiden, help the Queen of Ice, or remain neutral."The eyes of the elf once again focused on what was infront of her."Think of it as an exchange for the information I just provided." Rabiyu said, "I am sure that the unaccounted humans was something that was not known to any of you before I spoke about it. So I ask once again. Would you allow me to meet with Lord Raiden?"- Aeternum Siblings - Courtyard of Kilkis Seres -"Hey!" said Aurion while smiling, "I was carrying all of this while we were looking for you, my friend! Cut me some slack."Aura looked at her brother and waver her hand."You're such a lazy boy, brother," she said while shaking her head, "You wouldn't dare to make a fair lady like me carry that, would you?"Aurion laughed and was about to reply, that was until the guy from before showed up. Both siblings turned around and focused on Maxis, sure, it would be impossible for them to win in a fight, but they were going to watch him closely. Aura actually looked offended by his comment of her being cute, not because she hated to be called that, but because it was coming from him, she was going to reply, but Aurion put his hand in front of her before shaking his head. This guy, Maxis, was not someone they liked, he was rude and smug, and it looked like he wanted to bring harm to Henry, even if it was going against the Queen's orders."Henry, do not play it's game, he just want an excuse to hurt you," she said while glaring at Maxis and holding her chest, it was hard to breath "sword or not, this is not worth it! We are allowed to remain in the Prince's home for the moment, but if you play his game then this could be seen as a transgression in the Queen's eyes, even though it is her knight the one doing all of this."Aurion moved in front of his sister, the atmosphere was dark and full of danger, nothing in the world below could compare."Let us just wait for the Prince's return, Henry," He said to his friend, "Let's not cause more troubles while we are here. Besides, think of Helios, this could be bad for him in the eyes of the Queen. He was the one who brought us to this world, after all."The older Aeternum then turned to look at Helios, his face full of worry."Helios, you need to get the Queen," he whispered while scowling, "she needs to stop this guy before something bad happens. Henry's life, and maybe even ours, depends on it."
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted May 3, 2017 -Eclaire: Queen's Chamber- She paused. Asking her thoughts? That felt off...she really...wasn't that important to the Kingdom though. She nevertheless gathered said thoughts, then looked at Shiva. "Even if we find a way to send magic below, the fact remains that eventually another will rise and use it to attempt to conquer. We already have one who has a taste of magic, a taste of this power in his hands...and he is here. My Queen...I don't see any good outcome from this. Yes not all humans are evil and will misuse it, but should we trust that those in power down below will use it right? The barrier was made to keep peace, even if the supply of magic cutting out will end up killing all of them. As I said...a terrible peace outweighs a terrible war." She looked away. "It's a sorrowful choice...but we are not their keepers, nor thier rulers. They made a choice and now, they reap the fruits of their transgressions." -Izanami Sisters, with Jynn and Bherna- Xion and Takao curtsied before Jynn. "Hello, Prince." Xion said. "My sister and I are here to deliver a message to the Queen. it is quite urgent, so I hope we are not interfering with anything." She said, looking up at him before straightening up. Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 4, 2017 Jynn Venas and Bherna Lao - Courtyard of Kilkes Seres Jynn faces towards Xion and Takao. They claim that they have news for Shiva. He gives it some thought, then concluding to let the two enter the castle. "Alright. When you enter, let the guards know that I allowed you access. They'll........" Then the atmosphere turned dark. He looks around to see the person that harshly interrogated the humans last night, the living armor, Maxis. It also appears that he brought backup with him. Jynn unsheathed the sword on his waist. He finishes his instructions. "The guards will lead you to Shiva if you ask." Bherna is confused about what Jynn is doing. "Why are you carrying your sword?" Jynn kneels and turns to her. "Don't worry about that. I want you to stay in the castle for the time being. There is trouble brewing, and I want you to be safe." Bherna looks down and sighs, reluctantly agreeing. "Alright." She then gestures to Xion and Takao to follow her inside the castle. She holds the front door open for them to enter. Jynn walks towards the seemingly medieval arena, walking through some boulders in the way, as the prince could sense that it was an illusion. He gets to the area where Maxis, Henry, and Meksis are standing. "And what do you two think you are doing? Going against the Queen's promise is what I'm witnessing." He faces Maxis. "It was promised that no harm is to come to these humans, especially Henry. Now, Maxis, I will warn you one last time. Stop this nonsense...." A red aura illuminates around his sword, awakening the dark power of the extinct demonic dragon it was forged from. "......... or I will force you to. I don't really want to find out what this blade can do to fellow feys, or living armor like you." (Sorry if I ruined your fun Scrap, but this is Jynn we're talking about.) Dawson - Flowering Hyssop in Mystras with Alicia Dawson was then approached by a lady, Alicia. She was curious that Dawson was into sake. "Yea, tried it the other day. Normally my kind doesn't drink, but I don't mind it." He takes a sip. Alicia then asks for his name, to which he was happy to tell. Not many feys from Mystras were friendly, especially to him. "My name is Dawson. I'm a hunter. What's yours?"
Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 4, 2017 -Helios - Castle Courtyard - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), Henry, Prince Jynn, Meksis, and Maxis- Helios' attention is instantly drawn by Mel. He was absolutely gorgeous, no less for the royalty of the Overworld. His eyes gleamed as he walked over to Mel, careful not to startle it. "Hello." Helios hummed. He didn't know if Mel would even talk back to him. Just because he could speak to them, did not mean that all creatures were so willing to have a conversation. But usually due to his calm aura it gave him the reason of doubt for most of the time. He once lived an entire year migrating in between species, learning their ways and migrating patterns. Maelstrom was just another beauty he could not help but to admire. "You're beautiful." Helios hummed, mindlessly reaching out to gently stroke it across the neck. Princess Bherna had arrived with guests, and while Jynn went to attend to them, the magical trashcan had returned with a friend, much to their dismay. He even had the audacity to challenge Henry to a fight. Helios let go of Mel before growling at Maxis' attempts. "(He's trying to get them in trouble.)" Was the first thing that came to mind. Helios nodded at Auron, but luckily Jynn had stepped up to stop it before it began. "I think Jynn has it handled from here." Helios said with a sigh. Only a fool would fight against Jynn for many reasons. His attention turning back to Mel as he gestured for the siblings. "This is Melstrome. A Pegasus belonging to Jynn. Isn't he a beauty? Come!" Helios said, taking Aura's hand gently and pulling her closer to Mel for her to pet. "Pegasus live in teams in the higher planes where the mist usually hides them from predators. They're strong-willed and hard to catch, and even harder to tame. But once you gain their heart and trust, they're the strongest of allies. Melstrome is a prime example." Helios explained, already blabbering on and about as he used to do with Ren and Ariana long ago. He once hoped to one day create an encyclopedia of accurate information of every creature in the Overworld, all gained from experience that he had lived through and throw away the old definitions. Maybe he would do that one day. "Maybe we should get your some wings like Mel so you can fly with us!" Helios joked, the image of Aura's expression of fear whenever she took to the air causing Helios to burst into giggles.
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 6, 2017 - Maxis and Henry - The Living Armor and The Dreadnaught - Maxis watched as Aura and Aurion reacted to it, asking Helios to go fetch the queen. "You're half right, she has orders to not hurt any humans...except this guy here" Maxis spoke as he pointed at Henry as he faced Aura and Aurion. "Not because he has those powers, but because he had the courage to speak back to the queen. An act not many dare to do, most feys respect their rulers, for they have almost godly power, not him though. He speaks back, he needs to go..." Maxis spoke as his voice emanated a threatening and vicious tone. But he began chuckling, "Nah He's protected too, im just doing a spar. I was lying about the death part." Maxis spoke, "And don't bother leaving, its a barrier, you can only enter it, not leave it", And as he explained that...he cursed under his breath as he jynxed it, as the prince soon arrived at the scene. Spewing out threats and trying to act cool. To which Maxis stood with his arms crossed. "To be honest I didn't think she cared." Henry commented on the situation as Maxis simply waved back at him like nothing. As he turned to Jynn. "Warn? Force?" Maxis spoke as he slowly began to chuckle as he stepped forward. "Really?" Maxis spoke as he shrugged. "If you're trying to sound threatening you're gonna have to do a helluva lot more than just a random glowing sword and a few threats" Maxis commented as he shaked his head. One clone manifested beside Jynn, Leaning an arm on the boy's shoulder. "You don't look threatening either, even if you're missing an eye" The Maxis clone commented, before reappearing besides the real Maxis. "What do you want to do?" The clone asked the real one. As The original Maxis shrugged. "Meh. I dunno other me I can't decide..." He spoke. "He's our queen's son, we can't hurt him even if he threatens us." "I am aware of that...hmm." Maxis pondered for a second. "Fine" He snapped his fingers as the illusion disappeared, they were back at the Courtyard now. "Im not feeling it anymore...you can keep that sword" Maxis spoke gesturing towards Henry. "Y'all are free to go I guess." Maxis said, disappointed, now completely ignoring Jynn. "Except you, Meksis I need to take you to Ivany" Maxis said while pointing at him. Meanwhile Henry just walked over to Aurion, confused. "So uuh, that just happened" Henry asked. Not knowing how else to react to the whole ordea. - Alicia - The Violet Storm - Flowring Hyssop - "Alicia" She told Dawson her name with a gentle smile as she ordered a drink as well. "Same as before please." She ordered the bartender as she turned to Dawson again. "Im a wanderer, doing jobs to keep myself afloat...Hunting is also one of these" She spoke. "Latest exploit?" Alicia asked Dawson, curious, and friendly like always, wanting to strike up conversation with the cat.
Elrandir 783 Posted May 6, 2017 (edited) - Aeternum Siblings - Shiva's castle Courtyard - Aura was actually surprised when Helios grabed her hand to pet the massive horse with wings. She smiled awkwardly once the fey stopped. Wings, for her? No, thank you. "I do not think that is a good idea, Helios," Aura said while taking looks at the Prince, her brother and the talking armor, "I think you have noticed that I do not get along with heights." The young Aeternum smiled a little, it was sad that they had to go, but Helios still could be happy while they were still there. Aurion on the other hand was still watching Maxis, his eyes never wandering away from it. "Godly powers or not, it was completely obvious her disdain for not only him, but for humans in general." Aurion answered to Maxis, "Do not speak of respect when one ruler does not offer respect back. Henry had the courage to talk back and that is good, but do not mistake me and my sister for cowards for not talking back." Aurion shook his head and sighed. True, both of them were scared, the abilities of the fey were on a whole different level, far beyond of a human, but it didn't matter in the end. "We were in our best behavoir for Helios's sake. He was welcomed with open arms, yes, but those same open arms are now holding a chain, a chain that is now on our friend's neck." Aurion said coldly, "We hope that not all fey are like her, or you for that matter. It is true we are not going to remain here for long, but your Queen will, and something tells me she is not going to have a happy ending if that attitude of hers remains." The older Aeternum left the situation unfold. Apparently this guy didn't even respected the son of his ruler, which was a little surprising. In the end, the illusion vanished and the armor spoke with his comrade. Henry then walked over, he sounded confused by the event. "I would like to know too, my friend. He acts like it doesn't bother him, but something tells me that is not completely the truth, " he said quietly so only Henry could listen, "It also seems that he doesn't respect the Prince the same as he does the Queen. Let's try to avoid him while we are here." Edited May 6, 2017 by Elrandir 1 Sora's Baby reacted to this
Vaude 536 Posted May 7, 2017 - The Infiltrator, locked in conversation with Alastor and Rabiyu - The Infiltrator bobbed his head as he trailed along with Alastor, summarising everything internally in a methodical manner. This was certainly incriminating against the recently surfaced witch, but Alastor, Raiden's right-hand man, was not enough to convince everyone in a room, knowledgeable or not, that she was a danger to all. To them, there would be no evidence. He would be just a witness, maybe even a false witness unless Raiden -- or himself -- would like to disrupt the good situation they found themselves in. "Wait, a red knight . . . in red armour?" voiced the Infiltrator in a sudden glint of interest. "I remember one that was in such gear, or maybe two, but one stood out more than the rest. When did he discard his armour, and where? His armour would be evidence in and of itself and--urgh!" His body locked up in tremors of pain as Rabiyu homed in, and just as suddenly as that happened the pain stopped. It was almost as if it were a warning, and he quickly deduced its cause: Nihil. The shadow was probably using its dark powers without detection of the others through its close proximity, but the reason why escaped him. He quickly tried to recover as if nothing was the matter. An exchange for information, huh? thought the Infiltrator. This is more forced than that. You practically have us ensnared now with the notion of swaying neutrality, unless we kill you before you pose a potential issue. However, killing or imprisoning a diplomat is dirty business and poses worse threats later on. What can we do but acquiesce? "I would have no qualms with the matter," he agreed, facing Rabiyu, "but Raiden is different in that regard and will need arrangements set up. Never would you see him enjoy uninvited guests to be in his home, and as such I will deliver the news myself as a messenger, by your leave, Alastor." - Lord Raiden, currently with Ren in his study at Raiden's villa near Mystras - Meanwhile, Raiden was enjoying the uninvited guest's being in his home. Ren Mordecai, while a little naive, was understanding of what he had explained and still offered his services to his cause. Readily would he admit that having a drakon of the wind tribe on his side was a huge boon should the situation become gravely serious, and Raiden was not the type to look a gift horse in the mouth. "We certainly do, if that is the case," he mused tentatively, walking closer to the young man, "and you are spot-on with your deductions. I worry greatly about the land below. Its deprivation of what makes it truly vibrant with life is why I have rallied forth my cause, but I have come to learn secret knowledge that not all is what it initially seemed. The queen is not involved with this, not directly at least, and the fault lies with our predecessors. However, the sins of our fathers brought us to our own errances, and right now we are dancing on tightropes over the threat of an unnecessary war between Shiva and myself. We must now be tactful and shrewd to prevent this war from happening, but I will do my utmost to save your friend." He placed a hand on Ren's shoulder, smiling at him, before letting go. "That is enough talking for now, however. More time would be awarded to us later, and you must be half- or wholly starved, if just looking at your gaunt face. Grab yourself a meal from either the kitchen or the hall and enjoy yourself. Courtesies can wait for a hungry stomach." - Jari and Rufus Contralto, currently with Elia and party - Jari poked around at the front of the group, assuming that nobody would have enjoyed his being at the back of the group in the case that he was about to stab them in the back, even though he would not have dreamed of it. They were a likable group, even if an odd bunch, and he enjoyed the pleasantness of polite conversation again. It helped ease his mind and bring him back to a sensation of normality, as if Kouroo, Asha, Rummu, Shirou, Garett, and the rest were still around, all gabbing away in the Burrow. He missed his foxchildren brethren and friends, but there was no harm in making new friends if he could, right? Besides that, he could not return, not yet. He needed this current posse to protect him from that rough and tough storm lord should he ever come back to finish the job. Rufus, on the other hand, was more than happy to talk to someone, anyone, who would listen to his idle chatter. There was so much to learn and so much to explore along the way, and he did not have to do any walking, which was pleasant. He seemed to remember the pain of blistered feet and coarse calluses, even if he did not have much recollection of anything at all. Long story short, he often said to himself, I remember and that's that. Then the talk of ice cream came up, and that echoed in both sets of ears. It was Jari's favourite guilty pleasure and Rufus -- well, Rufus just thought of the unicorns. Both drooled at their respective thoughts and wiped away the residue. "I'd be very much for the idea! Sweet, sweet ice cream sounds very good afterward" Jari replied with mirth. "Unicorns," Rufus murmured under his breath with equal fervour, hovering over the party and lost in thought. "However, I agree with the others," commented Jari further towards Aqua. "You seem . . . distracted, or distant. I might be new, but something's eating away at you, isn't it? I know a little something about that myself."
Elrandir 783 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) - Rabiyu - Streets of Mystras -And there it was again, those barely noticeable tremors coming from Alastor's companion, and once again Rabiyu said nothing. The man obviously wasn't that hurt for that kind of movements, but this was something Rabiyu didn't choose to persue. Perhaps there was something else making him have those tremors, The High Elf looked at the ground, the shadow casted by her hood was now covering her face, making it unable to see her features. "zii do su," she mouthed without saying a word, "genun zey tol fos Zu'u yah." It was a very weak spell, so weak that it would be unnoticeable for anyone, one that would tell her if something was happening around them, which there wasn't, not easily observable, at least. She could feel a slight threat coming from the Infiltrator, but that was to be expected in that kind of situation. Rabiyu once again looked at Alastor's companion and listened to him. "I understand that this is not an easy request, but just like you, I am following orders from my superiors. And once a decision is made, I will either leave, or remain here to offer assistance to Lord Raiden." Rabiyu said to the Infiltrator, "Worst case scenario, I will return to Queen Shiva, but she is not in a good position with my superiors, which means there are more probabilities for Lord Raiden to get help from the North rather that Queen Shiva." The real question would be if the King and Queen would help Raiden in the end. Rabiyu didn't care that much, she was below and above the rulers of the North at the same time, which meant that if the situation turned to the worst, she, along with the other judges could overrule their decision. Only time would tell. "I will wait for an answer outside Lord Raiden's abode if it is not too much trouble. Once my assignment is complete, I will give my report and the answer for Lord Raiden will be received in a few minutes." Rabiyu said calmly to both men, "And before I forget. It is obvious that I cannot stand in the presence of Lord Raiden with my guise of a merchant, that would be rude and irresponsable of my part, but that is protocol in these kind of situations., I suppose." Rabiyu looked at Alastor then back at the infiltrator. "Master Alastor knows my name, and that I reside in the Forest of Illusion in the North, which is true, to an extent. So, please, allow me to properly introduce myself. My proper name is Lady Eliltari of the Calaquendi, or Elves of the Light, if you will." she said, "Judge of the Knights of the Round Order, an Order created to protect the denizens and execute laws around the Northern continent. Also known as Rabiyu, or the Lady of the Mist, by those who were rescued from Praestigia, the Forest of Illusion. You can call me by either one of mine names, or by any of my titles, I do not mind which one you choose. I am not too fond of titles, status, or any of those things nobility likes to play." Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 7, 2017 -Morana - Towards Kilkes Seres - Rufus, Mikhail, Typhon, Aqua, Jari and Elia -Morana was quick to gasp dramatically at Typhon's question. "You haven't had ice cream? That alone should be a crime." She said, her smile never wavering. "It is a cold, lactose dessert and treat that comes in a variety of flavors depending on what you put in it. It's sort of like ice, but soft, and with flavor." Morana said, doing her best to explain the concept of ice cream, though she doubted that she was doing a good job at it. "It is a popular treat in hot days. It's settled; we have to get you a scoop of ice cream once we get there. No excuses!" Morana insisted. She chuckled to herself a bit. "Kilkes Seres is a busy place. People constantly enter and go. You'll blend right in." Morana assured, though she personally wasn't sure of that either. She was still keeping an eye out on Aqua.-Helios - Castle Courtyard - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), Henry, Prince Jynn, Meksis, and Maxis- Helios petted Mel for a bit longer, before letting go of him, walking back with Aura to Aurion and Henry. Aurion seemed relieved, Henry seemed confused, but all shared the anger and annoyance towards Maxis trying to create a scene to get them in trouble. Especially Aurion. He had to admit, that whoever Maxis was, he was either unafraid of death or was just that dumb to contemplate to challenge the Queen's only child. "I'm glad that the prince put stop to it before it could begin...even though I'm confident that you would be able to kick his butt." Helios said, winking at Henry. His eyes glanced at Maxis once more, glaring at him slightly before returning his gaze to the group, getting his hands behind his back, thinking of Aurion's words. "The worlds have been separated for so long, they had completely forgotten about the existence of each other so easily. To the point of fearing what they do not know. I think the fear is equal." Helios hummed. "(Or is it the fear of our world dying like the world below?)"
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) - Alastor - The Storm - Mystras's streets - Alastor kept quiet as Rabyiu and the Infiltrator exchanged words, He listened to their conversation intently, without missing a single detail. When it was his time to speak, as the infiltrator asked him about the subject's armor. "Afraid the armor burned up and disintegrated the moment the knight turned into the Doom Hound." Alastor remarked, a doom hound disguised as a knight, the fact alone would be intriguing. How did Midneah Manage such a thing? it mattered not, as The Hound was now dead, and her plans were thwarted for the moment. Alastor then listened to Rabyiu give her full name and title and where she came from to the Infiltrator. "If you're wondering how I know her, we met in said forest." Alastor remarked as he chuckled for a moment. he then looked towards the Infiltrator, giving him a nod. "I will escort her to Raiden, you move on ahead and give him the news and that im bringing her in." Alastor suggested the Infiltrator. "We have a lot to talk about, especially now that the witch is back". Alastor finished. - Typhon - The Bug man - On the way to Kilkis Seres - "Uuh...alright then?" Was Typhon's only reply to how Morana acted, hesistantly nodding and accepting the promise of having ice-cream. Franky, he didn't have much experience with cities, he mostly kept himself to forests and rural areas, where he could move undetected and unbothered by others, and hunters of course. He had never went into a city, much less with a group of people before. But this would be a good experience, or so he hoped. Anything that could get him closer to the Queen and the royal family was enough. "I hope so..." Typhon remarked about the Blending in statement. As he continued on, with the wooden masks's continued discomfort growing worse. But he'd have to endure it for now. "Try not to scare the merchants with your smell..." Typhon remarked sarcastically to Moranaas they walked. (Waiting For Jynn so I can post for Maxis and Henry, until then, enjoy the Mental talk between Henry and Ariana). Henry: How far have you dug into my memories? Ariana: Enough to know your entire life's history. Peasant boy turned Royal knight, Royal knight turned Magical Tank, Magical tank turned rogue and deserted. Henry: Right. Ariana: I also know of your missions for Sondon, the ones you undertook during your career. Henry: Rather forget about those... Ariana: Im not going to let you...these memories make you what you are...and I can use them. Henry: Use them? Ariana: I can project these memories to you and make you remember them...in vivid detail, for one. I am posessing you after all. Henry: Why the hell would you do that? Ariana: Don't know...though they look rather gory... Henry: ... Ariana: Oh come now...you liked doing what you did back then. Henry: What the hell have you got against me? Ariana: Other that you're a hipocrite and a coward? Well...you did kill me. Henry: I put you out of our misery. Ariana: A misery your people put me through... Henry: Fair enough, just remember. I die, you die too. So don't go trying to kill me Ariana: I know, I know...I could take control of you... Henry: Think you got what it takes? Ariana: Not for now...
