Endless Thundaga 533 Posted March 24, 2017 (edited) Bherna Lao - Kilkes Seres with the Izanami Sisters Bherna was taken by surprise when Takao slipped by in front of her, it even spooked Mel a bit. But she remains calm when she finds out Takao was extremely friendly to them. Takao mentions getting a black cloak for her sister, which kinda sparked Bherna's interest. "Hello, I'm Bherna. Pleased to meet you. I just ran into someone who designs dresses, cloaks, and other garments." Bherna faces back to the lady she just met. "She's over there." Unfortunately, Bherna had no idea how to react to Takao revealing herself to be a priestess, as she was still a little bit young. Bherna tilts her head and plays along. "You're a......... priestess? Interesting." Mel was still a bit unsure about the newcomer. For now, he played along, but still keeps an eye on her. Dawson - Gates of Mystras fighting the doom hound As soon as the hound turns invisible, it appears behind Alastor and Dawson. The Palico takes note of this. "Invisibility, nya? Perfect ability for the coward. Alright then! Let me play along with ya!" Dawson immediately burrows underground, masking most of the scents the creature had on him. He then positions himself behind the creature and bursts out of the ground, using the water serpents Rabiyu summoned as a distraction. He then dives towards the monster's nose, axe first. Regardless if the axe managed to land a slash on the hound, Dawson immediately burrows into the ground again. Positioning himself further away from the creature, he bursts out of the ground again. Dawson then comes up with another plan. He tries to distract the hound so Rabiyu and Alastor can get some strikes in. "Hey smelly! You know why you turn invisible?! Because you know you can't defeat us in a fair fight! Think I'm wrong?! Then prove me wrong,..........." Dawson then smirks. "......... coward!" Stardustblade358 806 Posted March 24, 2017 -Helios - On the way to judgement - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), and Henry(?)- Helios looked back at the siblings, his heart beating so fast and hard it began to ache. Despite worrying for them, not wanting them to the face the Queen's wrath while in his judgement, part of him was glad he wasn't going alone. "You two are going to make me cry." He joked, smiling as he did. "Thank you." He added, looking back to the guards that led them. "I'm glad I'm not alone." He said, keeping a solemn smile the whole way. Internally, he was already going over and over what he would say, what questions he could be asked and answer, and how to to keep his new friends safe from the Queen's wrath. The Queen was fair, but was raised to be a ruler, and was as ruthless as she was beautiful when the time called for it. Things might get worse if that giant walking armor was there too! At the very least, it seemed that the prince was much more lenient. He could only hope that would play a part of it. "We're here." The soldiers said, stepping up to a pair of double doors. They opened them, leading the group into the throne room. Guards and servants stationed, the Queen and her son on their royal thrones, and the Queen's new soldier, guard, the young woman from yesterday that had stepped up for his claims, standing by the throne in high guard, ready to protect and follow orders. Helios was led right to the middle, just at the base of the stairs that led to the thrones. His eyes couldn't leave the Queen, wide and watching her every movement. All kind of thoughts raced through his mind. He was ready to protect these humans from her and her soldiers...but he also feared of what would await him. Yes, he was ready for any punishment coming, but darn it, who wouldn't be scared? He had so many questions, but he was sure she wouldn't even answer them. He only managed to tear away his eyes from the Queen to bow his head to her once he realized the guards have done too. "...your majesty." He finally managed to say. He was ready. Hell, he had to be. -Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Raiden's Morning Call- Arthur would've flustered and stammered excused towards Curvis about his comment had the current situation not be as serious as it was. Arthur held his own hands together, clasping them and holding them tight as he allowed that as a way to relieve any anxiety he had on the moment. His eyes turned to his king, hearing his words, and feeling the smallest hint of pride in his chest. As true to his reputation, even on a foreign land he stood his ground, and showed no fear, standing up for his subjects and partners even against such accusations. Yes, Alderon was right, their group was handpicked by the king himself, there couldn't possibly have been someone so cruel or heartless or even foolish to try such a thing among them. Though he didn't really had any personal opinions or theories...he put his trust, and well, right now possibly his head on his king. Though...there was someone missing that he would have expected to be right at the King's side, as she always was. "...where is Midnea?" He whispered to himself, glancing around. Vaude 536 Posted March 25, 2017 - Lord Raiden, currently addressing mixed news to the humans within Raiden's villa - Raiden listened attentively as Alderon expressed his concerns, eyes locked on the speaker except to gauge the audience's reactions. He agreed with all of them, especially Soran and the king as he spied them the most out of the two groups. Surprise, skepticism, ruffled pride, and doubt were only natural. However, while it was highly unjust to overrule the humans' desire to remain for a longer period than a day over the action of one or two, neither Alderon nor the rest could see what he saw, nor understand what he understood -- not yet, at any rate. "I have considered it largely and understand your desires and concerns. If I could have it any other way, I would, but Shiva has most likely discovered your flying vessel and has put me into an ultimatum. She assumes what she is doing is for the best of her people, but in a way she is right. The past is repeating itself, and I do not like these freak coincidences on the night of your arrival, actions which have not happened for centuries at the least. Three lives more beautiful than gold or any flower were taken over pettiness. "Also, King Alderon, it is not my intention to plague you with false accusations, but bring your eyes to the truth," rebutted the lord of Mystras. "I have firm confidence that there is a bad apple or two in the bunch, and I greatly intend to root out the problem before it becomes serious." His eyes drifted in search of Midnea, and if he spotted her he would have certainly locked eyes with her for a second or two before continuing. "The unity of our worlds will happen as we discussed in one way or another, and I will discuss this in length with you, and your guardian, if you wish. You may mete out the information you will have gathered to any of your affiliates afterward. "I will allow you all three hours to break fast, do some sightseeing, and pack your things. I can gift little more time than that before the queen grows leery and you must be sent back to your ship." He turned his head to the fey section of the group, chiefly the servants, smiling without mirth and offering a bow of the eyelids to them. "My fellows, you may begin the morning meal. Only the best foods you can find and serve on china will do for our esteemed guests before they regrettably leave." - Jari Coriander and Rufus Contralto, in the forest with Elia's group - Rufus nodded in agreement with the duplicate decision to go to Kilkis Seres. Not only was it the most sound proposition, being the location where the prince was probably carted off to (and not his mountain home, which was odd in his book, but the directions were issued by a child), but he could voice all sorts of dissent towards that one merchant that kept him imprisoned in that lamp. Oh, the thoughts he could think up. He wiped away a tear from the utter joy he brought himself. "I am in concord! Let us gather our wits and rush off in the direction of the capital! Here's hoping your fair prince will have his eyesight restored after that nasty gash of his. There may not be much modern medicine for it where I came from"--he paused in reflection, staring off into the distance for a second as if to recall anything else but could not--"but there may be hope there! Rufus, AWAY!" His subsonic take-off was short-lived, as thirty metres away he stopped and turned around. With a stamp of his foot on a surface not quite there, he made an annoyed face before floating off further into the forest. "Butter biscuits, I should gather the vulpine youth before we leave, should I not? It's only right, I guess. I'll fetch him." It did not take very long to find him, the foxchild having found a berry bush of red edible fruits and gathering them in a handkerchief. Very diligent, that boy, thought Rufus, blinking in surprise and, for a small and almost infinitesimal moment, impression. Nevertheless, he followed the Rufus code of doing things: he quickly acted, and he foolishly acted. "BOY!" he said boisterously, floating near. "AAH!" shouted Jari in turn, tossing more than half of the berries he collected as he rose in surprise. Frustrated by this, and perhaps for several other things, he was quick to respond further. "Look what you made me do! And stop yelling at me, you jerk! I'm doing as you asked, you know!" Rufus locked his jaw tight, blinked stupidly, and bowed his head in an apologetic manner. "Forgive my antics. That was, of certain, rude of me." Jari looked at him with a little less agitation this time but returned to gathering the fallen berries from the forest earth. "Forget it," the foxling stated. "My purpose here is not to yell at thee, but to inform you we are gathering at the capital. The prince has been injured from our recent fight. Perhaps you have seen him?" Jari looked up at him with surprise, then introspection, then realisation. "That . . . was the prince?! The one that had the black lightning? I didn't recognise him!" Rufus laughed nervously and scratched his ear. "Yeah, me too before today!" he answered. "We hath been getting off topic. I'm guessing from your actions that you are desirous of helping and not intending harm! Forsooth, I did not realise it before, but I do now." "Does that mean you're going to stop yelling at me?" inquired Jari with an unsure frown. "Indeed it does," commented Rufus, trying to pat the foxchild on the shoulder but failing. He cursed his incorporeality right then and there in his mind. "Come along and perhaps you can shake hands with the prince! A friend of a friend surely can be met, y'know?" Jari took some time to think on this, more so than Rufus anticipated, but he managed a smile and accepted. "Deal." The two left the spot and returned back to the clearing, carrying with them a handkerchief of ripe red berries. Things were starting to look brighter for Jari, though he could not help but ponder over matters. He once spied on the royal family, following Shiva for several years on the sly and keeping Raiden informed on matters. Can he really go back there without his prior ruse being discovered, either by his familiar actions or by his own conscience? He really could not say, and he was morose all the while as he went back to the mixed company. ((The Infiltrator will come into play in the defense of the gate after one more post for the Knight in Red. It's still a little too early for him to jump in.)) Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted March 27, 2017 - Alastor - Battle against the Doom Hound - Alastor was mildly satisfied that his attack landed and did some good damage onto the Doom hound, as Dawson also attempted his own attack against the beast Alastor was waiting for it to strike back, below the helmet Alastor held a serious face, expresionless and focused. He had fought worse things in the past. As the Doom hound vanished in a puff of flames Alastor scoffed for a second as he tried to sense it in the surroundings, it had to show up eventualy to attack or else. After a few seconds it reappeared behind him and Dawson, sending a flame breath their way. Dawson had already dug below the ground to dodge. Alastor jumped to the side and rolling onto his feet. As he finished the roll, he quickly channeled lightning energy into one of his swords and shot it towards the Doom Hound in a counter attack. "Don't underestimate it, little man." Alastor spoke towards Dawson. - Draksis - The Black Knight Commander - Raiden's villa - Draksis had quite the feast alongside his fellow allies the day before, he went to sleep the earliest out of all, being old he needed the rest and to adjust his armor a bit, its joints were starting to get uncomfortable after all. He had given everyone a good night before doing so. The next day he followed Alderon back into the same place they were feasting as per Raiden's orders. Who soon began to speak accusing them of stealing something from him. Draksis was annoyied and rather insulted, but he did understand the ruler's thoughts. After all it was one hell of a coincidence, Of course they'd be to blame. Draksis remained quiet with a serious expression as Alderon and Raiden spoke, noticing then that Midnea pulled Alderon to the side and spoke some things to him. Figuring after she did that Draksis might give his input on the matter, as he always did. Gesturing for Alderon to walk to him. "My King, mind if I give you a word?" Draksis spoke to him, asking permission first. - Maxis - The Armor of Illusion - Meksis's tomb entrance - Maxis stopped in his tracks for a split second as Meksis spoke about them not being infected, and many other armors. "Yeah..." Maxis spoke in a disheartened and honestly sad tone. Before shrugging. "They figured if a few would be corrupted and stop working or become threats, they'd better take care of all the others to not run the risk." Maxis explained. Or tried to anyway as they walked up the stairs. As Meksis then expressed his desire to see this queen himself it actualy made Maxis pretty happy, for once. "Im sure she'd be dlighted to see a friend of mine as well...maybe...Eh...I dunno." Maxis gave his commentary. Giving a slight chuckle as Meksis commented about the skeletons, same old bastard making fun of everyone, thats why Maxis liked having him around. "You see, she's determined, kind to her followers and ruthless against her enemies. Even if she does take things upon herself and it mostly ends with her getting hurt in the end." Maxis commented. Before he turned around, clearly surprised at Meksis's commentary about himself feeling unwell. Which was weird, normally armors couldn't feel many things other than just regular emotions. "That does sound familiar...I can't quite remember where i've seen this side effect before..." Maxis spoke, "I'l bring you to Ivany, aside from myself she's the only one who might know whats happening. She did learn a lot about us in the time I spent with her." Maxis then explained, giving Meksis an option. But deep down...Maxis knew what was happening...kind of. He hoped it wasn't what he thought it was. - Typhon and Mikhail - The mountain range - Typhon stood unamused at the Genie's and everyone else's surprises, he wasn't taken aback nor was he reacting much to them. In truth, he himself didn't know what happened, as he'd heard of it only in legends. Although said legends proved to be true...Typhon was glad that he was still alive, but without an objective in sight, especially since the prince just flew out of here. Mikhail just shrugged as Elia spoke to them. "You could say that." He commented dryly as Typhon scoffed. "I'd love to tag along, but once we're in the kingdom i'l have to leave." Mikhail spoke as Typhon looked at him for a second. "I have monster bounties to collect in other kingdoms..." Mikhail explained as Typhon simply shrugged, as the bug man began to speak with Elia. "The feeling is mutual, its good to meet a non-hostile bunch." Typhon commented as he crossed his arms. "I don't have anywhere else to go or anything to do...so I guess I can tag along, but if we get attacked because of my race, don't blame me for not warning you." Typhon explained the conditions of traveling with him. It was an annoyiance at most because most bounty hunters were weak and cowardly. But still, best not to have them attack with their guards low. - Henry -The Dreadnaught - Nightmare - As Helios, Aura and her brother left to see the queen, Henry was still asleep, like a rock, no, a boulder. Nothing would wake him up anytime soon. Especially with how tired he was, However as Henry slept his conciousness drifted off into a very weird dream. He dreamed that he was in a open field, full of plants and life. As he laid on the ground, a weird voice began to speak to him. "Wake up...Henry..." The voice spoke, as it echoed in his mind, forcing him to wake up, to gaze upon the open field. "What the..." Henry spoke surprised, "Who..." "You know who it is". The Voice spoke to him in his mind again. "No, I don't...who are you?" "I am to the east." THe voice echoed. As to the east of where he was located an old tree, and bellow it a figure of a woman. Not knowing what exactly was going on, and since whoever this was it could speak to him in his mind, decided to head to said tree to investigate. However as he walked and as he closed the distance between them, the landscape began disappearing, vanishing with his very eyes, this all seemed too surreal. Like a dream. Henry pressed on towards the tree and saw the woman figure, but she had her back turned. As he approached her his head began to hurt, he recoiled and went to his knees with both his hands holding his head in pain. Just then, in the blink of an eye, the area around him turned into a prison cell, a fortified one, desolate, almost like a solitary. As the woman figure was still with her back turned to him. "You did this." The voice spoke, as in Henry's hands materialized a dagger, as his body began to move by itself and walking towards the woman, slowly. Henry could do nothing but to watch as his body moved itseld towards the woman. Putting its hand on her shoulder and spinning her around. as it delivered the dagger onto her stomach. "No..." Henry spoke, as he regained control only after he stabbed the woman. As he overlooked her dead body, he looked into his hands, covered in blood. as his surrounding began to turn and change, (think Silent hill's otherword transition). As the dream slowly faded away. "You're..." Henry spoke, in shock. "Ariana...Yes." The voice spoke as she materialized behind him as he turned around in surprise, stepping backwards as well. "This is...impossible" Henry commented. "Is it Henry? After all wasn't the inheritance of fey power into humans thought impossible as well?" The woman, whose appearance consisted of a lonb black hair, narrow frame, beautiful face, with soft bangs as well. Henry recognized her violet eyes immediately. This was her...the woman he had killed. Regaining his composure for a second. Henry looked at her with a regretfull expression. "What do you want?! did you come to haunt me?" Henry spoke to her. As she laughed. "Haunt you? no..." Ariana spoke, "for we are the same now, we share the same body." As she said that Henry blinked in surprise. "What do you mean?" Henry questioned. "We'l see..." Her final words as the dream completely ended. With Henry waking up in his bed in the kingdom's bedroom. Henry woke in his bed soon after, breathing heavy and fast, as he did so, his eyes glowed with a violet color for a split second as he opened his eyes. "A dream..." Henry spoke, relieved. As he then looked around. "Where is Helios and the twins?" Henry questioned. his voice still cracking from reaction to that weird dream he just had. 1 Nero Kunivas reacted to this
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted March 29, 2017 --Queen Shiva -- Kilkis Seres-- The queen's lips tightened as Eclaire spoke, the softness in her gaze fading, her expression as cold as ice. She heard Eclaire's position, and could rationalize to a point, but she knew that she had no room to go soft, not when the fate of the Overworld rested upon her shoulders. "Your crimes are behind you and I could see within your heart," Shiva stated, her tone curt. "You are a fine woman who has noble ambitions, and I admire this quality about you. However, there is only an extent of how far mercy can travel within the royal court. While there are some humble and honest souls such as yours, there are others who are not so noble. "I am being merciful by offering the boy a trial, where he may confess his transgressions and the court may hear his story. If I were to adhere to the ancient laws he would've been confined to an eternal imprisonment without a moment's hesitation." Shiva clenched the arms of her throne tightly, knuckles turning a blue'ish white. The topic already made her uncomfortable, something which Eclaire might've been able to pick up on. Already the queen was cursing herself for ever considering a cooperation with Raiden on eradicating the barrier between their worlds; she wasn't about to simply abolish her father's laws and extend mercy to those she felt sorry for. Shortly after her son was seated beside her, her awaited guest arrived, with perhaps more than she had anticipated. A frown creased her brow. "You may rise," she said, voice authoritative. "You are Helios, I presume? And who has chosen to accompany you?"--she turned her hard gaze over to Aura and Aurion, both fear and fury rising in her chest--"You do not appear to be from this region of the Overworld." Something about them seemed different, otherworldly . . . human. It would be no surprise if Helios were to bring humans with them, which made her wonder if Helios were indeed a traitor that brought the warfront to her, and if Jynn and Eclaire had simply fallen for it. -- Everyth Castanova -- Sondon Courtyards -- It had all happened so quickly before the raven-haired woman's eyes. Pracia began lecturing her, shortly before Effie charged and snapped her neck. Everyth had let out a soft gasp at the sight, taking a staggering step backward, falling back into a stone wall behind her. She barely managed a weak smile as Effie suggested they leave, but could only point in horror by what she saw. How is it possible?! Everyth wondered, thoughts swarming frantically in her mind, making it difficult for her to breathe. She'd seen the woman fall to Effie; how was it that she survived? Her own questions were answered by this woman who named herself a "Punisher," declaring that she was of a flexible race that could survive such blows. "You're from there, aren't you?" Everyth managed, once finally being able to summon her voice. "From the world above that His Highness spoke of?" What was she doing there? Was she trying to take revenge? Had things gone sour in the Overworld? Was . . . King Alderon already dead? So many questions swarmed through her mind, her senses heightened. The green beams that shot forth from Pracia next came as quite the surprise, though Everyth still had enough sense within her to attempt avoiding the beam, or at least the best she could. She lunged, though not far enough. Her left leg was caught in the blast, and boy did she suffer as a result! A yelp of pain escaped Everyth, sweat beading down the side of her soft face. She was normally a very tough girl, seldom crying at even the worst of torture she'd endured during her augmentation, and yet this was far worse than even those treatments had been. This was too much a distraction; she couldn't summon magic like this. All she could do was crawl away from the beam, eventually out of its line of fire. Her body was shaking uncontrollably as she attempted to bring her injured leg up with her, but eventually could only balance against the wall. "Effie!" she cried out, concern now focused upon her. Using a great amount of her strength, the girl summoned a violet aura that worked as a barrier between Pracia's blast and Effie. It would not last for more than a mere few seconds, but she prayed that it was long enough for Effie to get away. She couldn't return to Visco with Effie's corpse slung over her shoulder, after all. --Alderon Niles -- Lord Raiden's Villa – The king was at a loss for words, his deep frown only deepening as those around him exchanged words. He had liked Lord Raiden enough; he seemed to be an amicable fellow who had a sense of honor, respect, and humility, and yet he was not so certain on how far to place his trust in him. Raiden was still fey, after all, from a world so very separate from his own. While Alderon wished to take him at his word, he knew that he could not. “Please riddle me this, my lord: is the queen not capable of any ill? Has she not sentenced an entire race to extinction, only to ensure that her people live comfortable? While you wish for me to open my eyes, I would implore you to open yours as well. Perhaps one of my men are accountable for the deaths of these innocents, in which case he is no man of mine and I would not hesitate in the slightest to hand him over to you for your judgment, but your loyalty to this queen is quite dangerous indeed. You claim to know her, but do you? Are you certain that you are not merely a pawn of a greater scheme that you’re not aware of?” Alderon shifted slightly. He didn’t wish to confront Raiden, but he was not ready to leave. Not when he had yet to find a cure for Visco. Not when there was so much left to discover. What would he tell his people when they hear that their ventures were unsuccessful in promising them anything? Lady Midnea voiced all of these concerns and more to the king, to which he listened but responded angrily. “I am well aware of the consequences! Do not insult my intelligence,” he snapped, nostrils flaring. His anger was not so much in what she said, but rather he feared that there was much truth to her words. Eventually he calmed, shaking his head and stroking his short auburn beard. “My lady, I do apologize,” he murmured. “It was wrong of me to be cross with you. Allow me to muse over this. I need some time to think.” Not only did Midnea wish to voice her thoughts, but Draksis spoke up as well. Alderon was about ready to snap his head off, too, but thought better against it. Instead he offered a slight nod. “We may step to the side so that you may voice your thoughts,” Alderon said at last. Finally he turned back to Raiden. “I would still like to discuss this matter further, Lord Raiden. This departure of ours that you’re planning disconcerts me, and I am not certain that this is in our best interests.”
Stardustblade358 806 Posted March 29, 2017 -Helios - At Judgement - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), and Henry(?)- One of the remaining guards looked over at Henry as he stood by the door. "They have headed downstairs for Helios' trial. If you hurry you might be able to get there and say goodbye before they take the traitor away." The guard said, turning back to look out and down the hall. Helios frowned. The Queen's stare was...ruthless, cold. But he shouldn't have expected anything less from someone whose job was to rule and protect and entire world. Her attention turned to the siblings, and instinctively Helios moved to step in front of them. "I brought them here, my queen." He insisted. "They are some of the humans that freed me from captivity in the world below." Helios said, already feeling his heart pound painfully at the situation. So instead of giving the queen a chance to speak, he began to tell the same tale he told the prince. "When we went to the world below, we were held captive by an evil and selfish king who wished to use us for experimentation. He used our blood and his own subjects in an attempt to create warriors for his kingdom that could challenge the other kingdoms and their armies. Dozens died in the experiments...including Ariana." Helios said, the name almost sounding strange as he spoke it. "But...the experiments did succeed. Some humans that survived the transfusion gained supernatural abilities, making them something different than human and fey. Many of them ran away however, and have been persecuted. I've brought two of them with me as well...in hopes that you would grant them asylum in a world where they will fit...better than in a world that betrayed them." His eyes narrowed. "I came here to speak to you, to warn you, my queen. The same king, King Alderon, has created a flying machine and has arrived here in the Overworld with a party of some of his most trusted men. I do not know where they could be, but they have been here possibly over 24 hours by now...and I fear that he might be seeking more feys to experiment on, or worse. I returned in hopes of...warning you before anything terrible were to happen." Helios explained, feeling himself out of breath already. He glanced back at the siblings, and then back at the queen. "Your majesty, I understand that what I've done deserves punishment, but these humans risked their lives against their own king to break me out and allow me to come here to warn you. I beg that you spare them and give them asylum in this world at the very least. I'm more than willing to take on any punishment for them." Helios said, getting his hands together, shaking, pleading. If harm came to the very same humans that had risked limb and life just to break him out, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself. "I won't allow you to harm them, my queen...but you may do what you wish to me." -Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Raiden's Morning Call- Lady Midnea brought out the receipts at Lord Raiden, questioning him with the same authority as she felt to be hers as in the world below. He was a very scary woman, Arthur had to admit, and that wasn't even counting the fact that he didn't know half of what she was capable of. Of course, the King was not happy. He was quick to snap and demonstrate his frustration, his anger as scary as it was expected to be from the king himself. The same type of anger that Arthur hoped he wouldn't have to deal with when the time came for him to confess his love of Visco to him. Not today, for sure. He wanted to speak up, but what could he say? Then he began to ponder on what Raiden said; the past is repeating itself. His eyes seemed to gleam up at an idea, a memory. His eyes looked up at Raiden, staring right into his eyes. "Are we not the first humans to have arrived in this world?...or is this about the Fey that we found in our kingdom?" Arthur asked. The Fey was already known to exist, at the very least to those who worked and lived within the castle walls. The Fey was a guest of the king...though now he wondered why he never really saw more of him. "Feys aren't suppose to leave this world to ours either?" - Morana - Forest near Mystras - Rufus, Mikhail, Typhon, Jari and Elia - Morana crossed her arms, staring at Typhon. "Then why not disguise yourself? If its about being sniffed out you're worried about, I'm sure that if I stick around close enough to you my stench should cover you right up." Morana said, trying to come up with something, and idea. She hummed, looking around. "You're bound to get caught if you don't even attempt to hide who you are, Typhon." Morana said as she walked to the nearest tree, allowing her bone to grow out from her arm. With a quick slash she cut out a mask shaped piece of wood from the surface of the tree, pulling it out, and then cutting out two eye holes...if he even had eyes? She made two more holes on the side, before kneeling down and using her powers to have a certain piece of grass grow to an exaggerated amount before pulling it out. She tied the grass to make it like a string to hold the mask, and then walked over to Rufus and Jari, picking up one of the berries and crushing it in her fingers, using the red juice to draw a single smile on the wooden mask. She then walked over to Typhon, getting on her tip toes before gently getting the mask on him. "See? You're now Mr.Typhon wooden mask. All you need is a cloak to cover your body and no one will be able to recognize you. I'll take care of the scent." Morana said, smiling softly.
Elrandir 783 Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) - Aeternum Siblings - Judgement Day in Kilkes Seres Castle - Helios -To think that both Siblings were actually scared of the woman sitting on the throne was a total understatement. To Aurion, she was a beautiful woman, same as the one next to her, but the sense of danger those two emitted surpased that of his wonder. To Aura, both women, and mostly everyone in the room was a potential danger, she was looking directly at the Queen, and yet her mind was in a total different place, thinking, scheming for possible scenarios should the need arised. The Queen 's voice was cold, something the siblings learned to take into consideration in any situation, one such as this."May I have the chance to speak, Your Majesty" The younger Aeternum said in a neutral tone, "As you, and everyone here, just heard, Helios was used as a literal scapegoat, fueling the Mad King's ambition to magically enhance his own knights, using them to wage war against the kingdom of Helvadoria and probably the Kingdom of Augustus."Aurion was watching his sister through his peripheral vision, things could go very, very wrong, but they had to try something or Helios would be punished."It was when we heard, from a mutual acquaintance, about Helios being a prisoner in the castle, we wasted no time in trying to free him from such a terrible situation." Aura said to the Queen, "It was hard, I can admit that, but no one deserves to live like that. Make no mistake, Your Highness, my elder brother and I ARE humans, to which I implore you to look past that. We had, and still have, the best intentions, we want to help Helios, and while it hasn't been a long time since we first met, we do not want any harm to come to him."The Older sibling nodded, and looked at Helios with a small smile."He is our friend," he said calmly bofore turning to look at Eclaire then at the Queen, "And whether you and your kind granted us asylum in your world, or send us back to the one below, we do not care, just do not make Helios suffer more. I think he has had enough suffering ever since he fell in the hands of the Mad King."Both siblings looked at each other quickly and then walked to stand next to Helios. They were not going to leave their friend alone, not now when he needed support and when he was willingly going to get hurt for them. Vaude 536 Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) - Lord Raiden and Raleigh Marin, in a meeting within the grand hall of Raiden's villa - Perhaps Raiden probably should not have been surprised that Midnea came out of the woodwork with a tirade few could and would even dare utter, but he was. She stepped forth from her hiding place behind the fey population within the room and attempted to ream his agenda full of holes, and Alderon proposed his own and sometimes matching questions soon afterward. Last but not least was Arthur, the youth catching a piece of information most probably have entirely missed. An astute listener, that boy, thought Raiden. Some of the servants still stayed in place, either curious or not understanding that now was a good time to leave, but he locked eyes with them and they quickly understood what he was trying to convey: Leave now. They scurried away without trouble, leaving behind only guards and the remaining few required fey. He listened to all three with a curbed tongue and a few nods, smoothed his brow, and smoothly engineered what he wanted to say before he replied. "I shall attempt to answer in order," he stated, turning his tired gaze first to Midnea. "I will keep the idea open and seek out the possibility, madam advisor. However, do note that you are speaking of perhapses and maybes. All of this talk of corruption and one of the queen's, or even my own, servant's involvement is weakly enforced and spoken out of heat . . . unless you are more knowledgeable than you reveal. If you are, please, do tell. Otherwise, keep your venom under restraint. "King Alderon, while I do not always agree with the queen's decisions and have been in great dissent with her ideals for a while now, there was no doubt in her sincerity during our summit. That is not to say that I have dropped all defences, nor that I am taking her side in full and withdrawing my support to your cause. These late actions may indeed be privy to the queen, but I will investigate and strive to get to the bottom of this." He sighed deeply. "It is for that reason that I will delay this further. You may stay for a while longer than the three hours I have provided. However, if she adds any emphasis that this is reason to go to war, you will leave without question." Raiden turned next to Arthur, looking the boy over with an inward smile that never did reach the surface. He developed a liking towards the boy from the conversation they had the other day, though it did not shine forth very well through Raiden's tired nature. "As for your query, youth, you are correct. You are not the first humans to arrive here in the Overworld. Long ago humans and fey coexisted, but the results of broken-down diplomatic relations nearly involved the end of both of our civilisations. Countless lives were taken for the sake of ideals, desperation, and vengeance, and the cycle of hatred was continuous until the barrier was erected. I had you all invited here because I hoped that this would not happen again, but now we must tread cautiously." The assassin Raleigh was dumbstruck at all of the information provided within a short period of time. She quickly switched from great displeasure with Raiden and agreement with Midnea and Alderon to solid enjoyment of Midnea's humiliation and a subsequent agreement with Raiden's decision. What caught her ear, however, was Arthur's excellent catch and the response to it. So they were not the first of humankind to reach the floating lands of the Overworld, but the history between the two peoples was stressed at the very least. What a poor representation it would be on all of humanity if this strike force were to passively or actively instigate a second war. However, who was it that started the first war? The question inspired her to bring her voice to the table. "Lord Raiden, which side tossed the first stone?" she voiced curiously, stepping forth a few steps from the group. Raiden's expression wizened into a frown before replying: "It does not matter. Both were at fault, and both did grievous things against the other which instigated conflict." The assassin was not satisfied with this answer, but she decided to back down. If Raleigh wanted additional answers, three or more hours of time was probably enough, provided the lord of the villa would not pass out in the time being. - Rufus Contralto and Jari Coriander, in the forest near Mystras - Jari observed with no great lack of perturbment and confusion the wendigo lady extract a bone from her body and carve into a tree and then take a berry from him, squashing it within her fingers to paint what was in her other hand. The stench of death followed her as well, repulsing his fox's sense of smell, but if there was any moment to make good first impressions it was then. Not offending the corpse eater was a smart choice on his part, as Rufus had that dopey look of puppy-dog love on his expression when looking in her direction. "Hitherto a lovelier mask I have never seen!" the genie commented with abundant jubilance from the side lines. "Had I the ability to wear one I would conscript your services for a play of some manner or fashion!" That provided a flood of memories, including that of his making a wonderful play revolving around and starring himself, but like every other moment he could not list them all and could not pull any of them into the limelight to study. He closed his eyes to attempt this and opened them to find Jari looking at him quizzically. He grinned with whimsy and asked, "What?" "You're an odd duck," came Jari's reply, the boy entirely stupefied. How the foxchild wished he were home, eating something sweet, drinking something sour, and not at all surrounded by confusing--even if nice--strangers. He shifted the conversation to Morana and Typhon. "A disguise would definitely help, though you might not be able to go anywhere heavily guarded with a cloak and mask. There's lots of peoples in the capital, though hiding one's face in a place of great need for governance, well, I'd not recommend that to anyone not wanting to be found." Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted April 1, 2017 --Queen Shiva -- Kilkis Seres -- If Shiva was affected by Helios' words, she didn't show it. Instead she sat and listened silently as Helios retold the tale, unmoved, her hands clasping the arms of her chair tightly. Once the boy was finished she placed her chin on one hand, head tilted to the side. This was a lot to consider, much more than she had anticipated. Was Raiden being played by the humans? Did they have ill intentions, just as those before him? She doubted that Raiden knew, unless he too was playing with her. Could she even believe Helios? There was no way to say for certain. There were so many stories and so many words; trying to find the truth among the many grains of lies was nearly impossible, and there was no such magic privy to her that could ensure one was speaking with a truthful tongue. When her words came her voice was smooth and calm, and no one--except perhaps Eclaire and Jynn--could assume that Helios' words left her in a state of uncertainty. "I am aware that humans have arrived in our world," she said. "They are currently residing under Lord Raiden of Mystras, where they are discussing possibilities of reuniting our worlds. It is my understanding that the humans desire to preserve their own world through the destruction of our barrier, but it is rare to find a mortal without a thirst for power beyond his reach." Finally she offered Helios a brief nod. "It must have taken great courage to return here to provide this warning, given the fact that you've violated the most ancient of laws and traversed to the world below. As you may already be aware, your friend Ren Mordecai has already returned to us, and while he expected embraces and strokes on the back for his accomplishments, he has been received harshly and resides in Isopolis as we speak." Briefly her gaze flickered over toward the twins. They seemed innocent, harmless even, but she could not take her chances. Not after what happened last time; she couldn't possibly be held responsible for starting another war. "There is no place for humans in the Overworld," she responded to the fey. "While they may not fit in down there, they most certainly couldn't fit up here. Where would they belong, in their old age surrounded by youth? Would they wed fey, create a half-breed and a clan of misfits? We have tried it before; it is not possible. They must go back." She offered a small smile toward the children, listening to their words and sensing their fear. "I will see to it that no harm befalls you. You have proven yourselves virtuous, and, should times be different, I would love to welcome you in my home to find a place for you to dwell herein. However, for the reasons I mentioned earlier, this is not possible. You have the choice of reuniting with the humans in Mystras, where Lord Raiden shelters them, or I will have you personally escorted by my royal guard. It is up to you. "As for you, Helios"--her gaze hardened, her brows furrowing into a frown--"very few have dared to venture into the world below, with only two of which returning. Both have been purified with the Forgotten Flame, and then sentenced to a life of solitude and seclusion within the depths of Isopolis. Normally you would endure the same fate, but given the circumstances I am willing to offer you a chance at redemption." She thought of Eclaire standing over her shoulder. It was mostly for her that she was doing this, though she hoped she wouldn't regret "going soft" later. "You are to be watched with a careful eye by the royal court and will serve for the good of the realm. While I pray that this news you've provided is true, I have no assurance that you are not simply lying to me and are instead working for the humans below. You will obey me and the crown prince, and will do whatever we command. Should you work independently or do anything out of line, I will have you executed before the entirety of the royal court and even the North will be invited to watch. Do you accept these terms?" --Elia Cabret -- En Route to Kilkis Seres-- "I don't think anyone will attack you in the capital," Elia said at last in response to Typhon's fair warning. "I think anyone would be hard-pressed to discern that you're a cyph at first sight, and perhaps even the queen would be able to do something about you being chased around like a demon child or something." It wasn't fair to Elia that anyone should be oppressed for their race, but ofttimes the youth lived in her own world of fantasies where everyone was good and no one wished the ill of others. Rufus and Jari seemed to be conversing, more on friendly terms than they had been previously. That was a good thing; it would've been difficult to keep the two from snapping at each other's throats the entire journey back. Elia was already aching from her fight and she felt that a bruise on her shin would last for weeks. It was a day's travel, at least, if not longer considering their injuries. While she could indeed fly back she would've left the others behind, something she felt uncertain of doing. "We'll get everything straightened out once we get back to Kilkis Seres and meet with Prince Jynn," Elia announced at last. She took her friend Aqua's hand cheerfully and swung it, a reassuring smile played upon her lips. "Let's cover as much land as we can, and perhaps try to find a decent meal. Goodness knows it's been forever since I've eaten." And with that the mismatched group of fey ventured off deeper into the woods, down the path toward Kilkis Seres. Elia for one hoped that they wouldn't encounter any more dangers on their path, but everything was entirely unpredictable for their lot, especially in this current day and age. --Ren Mordecai -- Arriving at Lord Raiden's villa -- Mystras was vastly different than Ren remembered it. It'd been over a decade since he had stepped foot within the independent lands of the southern lord, but everything had built up remarkably so. He smiled as he watched families of varying races make their way down the street, laughing jubilantly as their half-breed children followed behind them. Yes, this sort of inclusion and unity is what Ren always desired; not the elitist group that the queen had formed. It was difficult to say from the outskirts of the town, but this Lord Raiden seemed like a fellow he very much desired to follow if this was his ideal world. It had taken Ren half a day to travel throughout the whole of Mystras, stopping once in a local cafe for some bread and cheese. He'd nibbled on it along the way, not daring to spare even a fragment of time in making it to Raiden's doorstep. The young man most certainly attracted many stares and sideways glances, being dressed in tattered rags and being nearly as thin as a twig. He hadn't a proper meal, clothing, or even a bath in ages past. He really hoped that Raiden would proffer all three. When he finally reached the steps of the villa he was greeted by the scowl of one of Raiden's knights, who eyed him from head to toe. "What business does a pauper have with the lord?" the guard inquired, smugness present upon his ugly face. Ren drew in a breath to maintain his cool, watching the knight with his dark eyes." "I have been summoned by His Lordship," Ren responded simply, to which the knight chuckled darkly. "I don't recall Lord Raiden relying upon the aid of beggars." Now Ren was starting to lose his cool. "Please, I only wish to speak with him. He"--the boy stopped himself before blurting even more information. No, it would not be wise to inform this knight that Raiden's men freed him from Isopolis. Instead he finished with: "He feels my qualifications will aid him in his goals, of uniting the world. Please, I must see him." "Oho! Now the pauper is giving orders!" the other mocked, shoving Ren to his knees with a heavily-armored arm. "Begone! We have no need for the likes of you, nor will we waste Lord Raiden's time with your whimpering." The insults stung, knowing that he indeed was only a shadow of what he used to be. Slowly the young man rose to his feet, fumbling in his pocket for a silver chain. Upon it hung a large jewel in the shape of a teardrop, its hue a shade of pale green reminiscent to a peridot. "I am a descendent of the Wind Drakon Tribe," he declared, his gaze sharpening. "I know that Raiden wishes to see me. If you do not let me pass, I will have to make my way, though I promise you that I do not want to." The first knight spat on the ground between them, offering Ren a glare that would've frozen water in July. Finally he drew open the heavy wooden doors of the villa, granting the wind dragon entry. "Tell him you forced your way through," he grunted. "I'm not going to be responsible for letting a beggar in the walls." In response Ren merely offered a polite smile and a bow of his head, before entering the villa and making his way down the carpeted hall. Hopefully Lord Raiden would aid him and listen to his plight. Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted April 2, 2017 - Maxis - The Armor of Illusion - Meksis's tomb entrance - Maxis stopped in his tracks for a split second as Meksis spoke about them not being infected, and many other armors. This departure of ours that you’re planning disconcerts me, and I am not certain that this is in our best interests.” - Lord Raiden and Raleigh Marin, in a meeting within the grand hall of Raiden's villa - Perhaps Raiden probably should not have been surprised that Midnea came out of the woodwork with a tirade few could and would even dare utter, but he was. The assassin was not satisfied with this answer, but she decided to back down. If Raleigh wanted additional answers, three or more hours of time was probably enough, provided the lord of the villa would not pass out in the time being. - Soren Monroe, Loyalty Wavering - Lord Raiden's Villa - It seemed like all was not well, nor would it get better anytime soon. King Alderon was extremely displeased, downright offended at the suggestion of their years of work to enter the Overworld going to waste due to the words of Queen Shiva. Lord Raiden was extremely worn out, weary and desperate to get the Human King to understand his reasoning, not to mention this scandal of his comrades being murdered by what appeared to be Alderon's own men exacerbating things further. Soren's own internal plight had gone unnoticed, but after many more words were exchanged between the rulers, he decided that his own issues would need to be secondary to what was happening in the now, so he cracked his neck and shook off a little bit, composing himself before beginning his approach towards Raiden and Alderon. "If I might interject, my lord, your majesty." Soren spoke his words calmly, addressing Lord Raiden and King Alderon by their appropriate forms of address respectively as he strolled towards them, his hands behind his back. "I will be honest here. I don't pretend to know the inner machinations of Queen Shiva, much less our ever hospitable Lord here, nor do I quite know...where I in particular stand right now." The Sentinel admitted without shame, lightly extending his arms from his sides in a low shrug, his approach slowing as he got closer to them. "What I do know...is that you, I and Raiden, are very similar, your majesty. We have our visions for both worlds. You wish to save yours from it's impending death, Raiden wishes for co-operation and co-existence between us once more. I am much the same as Raiden in that respect." Soren stopped between them, a suitable distance from both royal men and looked to Alderon in particular. "You came here, in a ship and used Isopolis as a, gateway, of sorts, due to the weakened barrier. Finally, your plans and ideals were coming to fruition...but now, Raiden is showing you the door. It is most unfortunate to see. Queen Shiva is bound by tradition, the last will of her late father and old ideals...on top of that, I've never agreed with her when it comes to our worlds." The demonic fey spoke freely to Alderon, a small smile formed on his otherwise gruff and stern face. "Your own efforts are to be applauded, I am truly impressed. But I do not believe your work will go to waste, your majesty." Soren then looked to Lord Raiden. "You're in a difficult position here, I know that, yet, it surprises me that Shiva is so lenient here...I'm wondering what happened that caused her to consider such...an interesting turn..." His expression then returned to a gruff, now solemn and concerned frown. "I have to ask; Do you trust Shiva, my lord? Do you believe she will keep to her word? I don't wish to overstep myself here, but, her offer strikes me as...too good to be true, especially for someone so hellbent on keeping the Underworld in a chokehold." Soren tried to keep his respectful tone, but as he uttered his final words, anger overtook him, if only mildly, but the growl in his voice could just be heard when he touched upon the World Below's situation and inevitable demise. - Meksis, The Chaperone - His Tomb, exiting with Maxis - The Chaperone was disgusted with their creators decision, shaking his head as Maxis told him what had occurred. "It only took a few armours...makes you wonder if they even believed in us in the first place." He mused, a solemn undertone to his words. His mood improved quickly however as the Armour of Illusion mentioned that Shiva would be pleased to see him, his response to Maxis was positively beaming: "Well, I will be glad to see her too!" Maxis of course elaborated upon the Queen's character, which intrigued Meksis, figuring that she was indeed brave, strong, yet her heart tends to guide her, sometimes true, other times she wouldn't be so fortunate. After his complaints, Maxis suggested seeing someone named "Ivany", as to give insight into what might be wrong with Meksis. "Good to hear you give a damn, friend." Meksis snarked, chuckling afterwards but still rubbing his neck. "If she knows anything about this, then I'm more than happy to see her. Willing to bet she's a Witch Doctor, Plague Doctor, whatever they call them these days, but that's just me. Lead the way, Maxis!" He concluded, catching up a little and sticking close to his comrade. - Nergal, Empty Remnant of Meksis - Kilkis Seres, far, far outside Shiva's Palace - A cool wind blew through the lands of the Overworld, their relaxing and even cleansing effects could be felt by any passer by...well, save one in particular. The plants and grass around the landscape swayed in the air, the footsteps of an approaching man sounded in the distance, growing louder as they approached a cliffside. This cliffside faced towards the prestigious and glorious residence of the Monarch of the Overworld; Queen Shiva de la Alexandria, ruler of Kilkis Seres. Her residence was extremely far away, yet easily seen from this sheer drop into an abyss none would survive a tumble down into. The man who approached had much presence and yet, at the same time, none at all. He felt nothing from the wind, his white robe clad body seemed so elegant in the wind...yet he was far from beautiful, though if one could see his face behind the mask, he is rather handsome to behold and still, he is not to be admired. His hollow presence brought dread to all he passed, his aura would reek of the Void itself, the power of Nothingness was all over this empty vessel, discarded many eons ago, left to wander for eternities passing. He was not meant to be alive, much less exist in this realm, but as fate would have it, he did. His heart did not beat, but he was very much a living being, despite being colder than ice inside and more hollow than the promises of evil men. The robed and masked man knelt down to the ground, cupping a Rose in his hand and gently plucking it from the soil before rising once more. The crimson plant, in a strange occurrence, seemed to flourish in his hand, its blossom wider and more brilliant as he held it. A soft voice could be heard, slightly muffled by his mask. "Hmm.." His lack of admiration for this spectacle would be disconcerting at the very least, but as he let go and watched the plant seem to gracefully float away into the abyss below, this person, regarded as an abomination by all, including himself, turned his dull gaze towards Shiva's Palace. "The Monarch lives here...the woman who perpetuates a dead man's wish ever still. The man is dead, why bother...? Why even rule over these worthless husks?" His inflections were unnatural at best, nonexistent at worst, the man spoke with a voice that would send strange feelings up any Fey's spine, it was laced with an overtone that something was amiss, his voice and tone was...just...not right. Though this should all be expected from the discarded body that once contained the soul of dear old Meksis in Gladeus. A body, that came back to life and walked away of it's own volition, without identity and seemingly without purpose. The "Hollowing" was a rare occurrence, but when it did, the empty vessels usually just...wander. Not this one. He once sought purpose, meaning in his life, but thousands of years kept passing him by with little results... Now, he stands before the grand structure containing a Sovereign in its walls, the sole forbearer and last descendant of the name Nergal, the first and only member of his family. His body once that of a noble man, the bones stronger than steel to accommodate the steadfast will of that man. Same flesh, same bones, yet he was so very different. His initial optimism was devoured by the night so long ago, everything good was consumed by the void and as he watched the sun fall on the last day of his nameless days, he gave up all hope to claim a new birthright. This shell of a man now feeds off of hope, denounces compassion as a pitiful display, spits in the face of idealism, sees no point in the creation and sustaining of civilizations or structures when they'll only be destroyed or the clinging on to life when all should know that they will have to die and believes the concept of mercy to be completely worthless. Oft-times, he has trouble telling if he is of the Void or of the Dark, they're both so similar to him in the end. Nergal stared at Queen Shiva's home, his expression beneath the mask was...one of longing, his words a hoarse whisper. "I'll put an end to these sad stories...and I think I'll start...with...you, your highness. Oh yes." He had made his decision. Where better to start his decimation and destruction of everything than with the Monarch of Kilkis Seres? It was so perfect, the man could cry if he was able to muster the required emotion from his dead heart. He did however allow a soft, empty chuckle, as he just knew, he could feel it in the air that the time would come: Queen Shiva was to die soon...and he wanted to be the one who did it so very badly, his extended open hand slowly forming into a soft fist that gradually clenched. From his perspective, it was as if he were crushing the palace in his hand, wanting it to crumble into dust that would flow freely from the gaps between his gloved fingers... "I'll be seeing you very soon...your majesty." (Take Nergal's desire to kill Shiva however you wish, Mystics, perhaps it can be discussed in private. But either way, thought I'd introduce him finally!) 1 Mystics Apprentice reacted to this
Stardustblade358 806 Posted April 2, 2017 -Helios - At Judgement - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), and Henry(?)- Helios could feel a wave of relief slowly wash over him as he heard the Queen. She was going to spare them. Hell. He was going to spare him, all as long as he ended up making for his mistakes by following orders of her majesty and the prince. Otherwise, any other mistake, and his head would get cut off. It was relief mixed with utter dread. His friends get to live. Ren has been in Isopolis, locked up ever since he returned. He would be spared at the expense of serving. But Ren...oh god, Ren. He had been locked up all this time? "(That's a fate worse than death.)" Helios thought, frowning slightly. Ren was a free spirit, a Drakon, and an amazing scholar with curiosity and gleam in his eyes that could compete against the stars and yet...he has been locked up all this time, inside a small cell. Death would have been a much more lenient judgement. But one thing at a time. Helios nodded at the queen and her demands. "I will accept these terms, your majesty. I thank you, so very much, for your mercy and kindness." Helios said, looking back at the twins with a smile, then back at the queen. "Though last night, I did send a small messenger bird to tell my parents of my arrival, and ask my mother for a favor. I do warn that a message shall be returned to me soon enough...I will not disappoint you, and will follow your every word." Helios said, bowing his head. Ren, his mind screamed. He had to ask for Ren. But soon. Right now he felt to not push boundaries. Not yet. Just as he did, there was the sound of squaking, and then a small squeak. Speaking of the devil. He looked up to see something open one of the windows, and one of the guards jump up in surprise as two flying monkeys simply made their way into the hall, carrying a familiar, yet heavy looking blue colored bag. They looked around before their eyes landing right on Helios, dashing right at him as he welcomed them with open arms. They dropped the bag in his arms before rubbing themselves against Helios, as if rubbing off their scent against him. "Romeo, Juliet!" Helios chuckled, giggling at the ticklish fur holding the bag tight. The Queen was right. Even if they stayed...Feys and other creatures here would outlive them. But, he could at least, do their travels worth while, even in the smallest of ways. He looked up at the Queen with a bow. "A second, my queen." Then he turned to the twins, hurrying to them and handing them the bag. "My...mother is an alchemist. I asked of her a favor last night. It's not much, but hopefully, it will help you guys when you reach home again. Divide it with Gel and Henry, if you will as well." Helios said as he handed them the bag, opening to show them the insides. His mother's work true, inside there were bricks and rocks turned into solid gold, and a certain flower. Helios took out the flower, colored red as he offered it to Aura. "This is specifically for you. It's called an Amaranth. They're called undying flowers. As long as the bud of the flower is undamaged, it can survive any kind of treatment, and live for eternity." Helios said with a soft smile as he gently settled it on Aura's hair. He couldn't help but to feel a small ache. After losing two of his friends, and meeting them, even as human- I don't want to say goodbye.
Elrandir 783 Posted April 2, 2017 - Aeternum Siblings - Judgement Day in Kilkes Seres Castle - Helios -The Siblings listened to what the Queen had to say, all of it. It seemed that it would not be possible for them to remain here, not now or ever. It was unfortunate, but that was reality."We came seeking a peaceful place to live, Your Highness, but if it is a place beyond our reach, then we simply must keep looking for another one." Aurion was the first one to speak, "Our world is filled with wars, thanks to the Mad King, but I am sure uncertainty and distrust have a place in your heart for our kind. The reasons are irrelevant at this point, I think."Aura was next, her eyes looking directly at the Queen."We do not wish to reunite with the Mad King, he is no friend OR King of ours," Aura said in a slightly angry tone, "If a place in your world is not in our future, so be it, we will continue our way. Our only concern was the fate of Helios, and that issue has been resolved. For your forgiveness you have both our thanks."The Siblings slowly bowed to the Queen of Ice, it was too bad they didn't had the chance to stay, but they were not going to give up in their search for a place to call home. Aurion was the one who took Helios' bag, and was surprised once he saw the content."It is a shame we have to part ways like this, Helios," Aurion said, his smile never faltering, "I know this will help us back home, but not even the total worth of all this gold could compare to the worth of your friendship. It is sad, but everything happens for a reason."Aura touched the flower on her hair then looked at Helios. The younger Aeternum didn't smiled often because there wasn't enough reasons to do so, but she did smile now, even if her smile was there for a few seconds, She was not tall nor too short, but she hunched over towards Helios before kissing his forehead."We are grateful for the chance we had to know you," she said calmly, "and we will never forget you, you can bet your life on that. The time we spent together may have been short, but it will remain alive in our hearts until our last breath."
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted April 2, 2017 -Eclaire: Kilkis Seres, Trial of Helios- Eclaire held her tongue through the trial, keeping herself in check. Taking a breath, a small, quiet one, the outcast tensed. The uncertainty in Shiva's voice...well, it only made her on edge. The pheromones coming from Helios and the twins mixed. The unease of helios, the anger of the twins. Emotions... She then was caught off guard. She visible seemed to stumble, very briefly, at Shiva...giving leniency. She had not pushed when Shiva grew cold, not pressing. D...did she...she did it to the other one, no? Even with the warning...why? Why? She glanced around a bit, taking it all in. Her word was weighed. She had to focus on that. She actually...meant something now. -Izanami Sisters; Market of Kilkis Seres- Xion took the coin purse from Takao and went for a cloak. The Priestess bounced a bit. "So how hard is it to get to see the Queen?" She asked Bherna and Mel cheerfully. "My Goddess has a warning about blood and sorrow and I wanna tell her! The Goddess doesn't just saaaay go across an ocean and possibly get a mermaid harem for kicks!" An annoyed sound was heard. Freshly cloaked in black, Xion stood stoic. "..." she sighed. "Takao has no sense of discretion." She said. "My apologies. We should be going." She then grabbed Takao by the ear and started to drag her away. "OW! XIXI!" Xion said nothing. "Thank you for dealing with us." She said to Bherna and Mel. "She is a handful."
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted April 3, 2017 Jynn Venas - Courtroom within Kilkes Seres Jynn was quite surprised that the twins showed up, but thankfully his mother was merciful towards them. But when she mentions they must return to Alderon, he becomes very uneased by this. He was also thankful that Helios is receiving redemption, as the prince believed that Helios suffered enough down in the world below. Once Aura made her remark about Alderon being a foe, Jynn thinks of something to say to his mother. "Pardon me if I sound rebellious of your solution for the humans, but hear me out at the very least. I don't think returning them to this Alderon guy would be a wise decision. If what Helios says is true, which I strongly believe it is, then these guys would have a large bounty on their heads, therefore technically severing your promise of a safe return. I think I may have two alternatives, if you would like to hear them." Bherna Lao - Kilkes Seres with the Izanami Sisters As Xion changes into a black cloak, Takao immediately asks about the difficulty of meeting with Queen Shiva. But before Bherna had an answer, the young succubus continues on about mentioning about a warning to the Queen. Bherna is entirely confused. "Uh......... Sorrow and blood?" But then Xion, dressed in her new attire, apologizes and takes Takao away, as not to cause more disruption. But then Bherna refers back to Takao's question about seeing Shiva. "Well, I am the granddaughter of the Queen. If that helps..... Prehaps I can convince the guards to let you in the castle, if that is what you want."
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted April 3, 2017 -Izanami Sisters: With Bherna- Xion stopped. Wiggling free, Takao bounded over and hugged Bherna. "Fortune! Yay! Please, if it's not too much trouble!" She let go and bounced on her heels. "It would be a lot to me! And Xixi! And my goddess!" Xion facepalmed. Takao was a handful and and half. Eclaire could control her. Damn girl and her emotions... Endless Thundaga 533 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) Dawson - Front gates of Mystras participating in the fight against the Knight in Red To Dawson's surprise, the creature did not do what the Palico wanted it to do; attack him. Instead, its body doubles in size through its anger and injuries. And even more surprising, it targets Rabiyu instead of Dawson. The cat looks back to Alastor. "I never underestimate my opponents! I was trying to divert its attention!" He then immediately thinks of another plan. He quickly burrows into the ground again, but this time, he bursts out of the ground in front of Rabiyu with a large barrel full of explosive powder. "Sorry if I'm in your way miss!" He then throws the barrel high in the air, barely clearing the flames the beast created. Luckily, the fuse touched the flames and lit up. Regardless if the barrel strikes the beast or not, as it was also planned to be a distraction, Dawson then pulls out another horn and plays a tune that gives Alastor and Rabiyu another temporary boost to their powers. He then turns back to Rabiyu. "Use that water wall magic! It should be bigger and stronger now!" Edited April 4, 2017 by Endless Thundaga
Elrandir 783 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) - Rabiyu - Front Gates of Mystras - Vs Doom Hound -Everything looked like it was moving in slow motion for Rabiyu. The fire attack was coming towards her and the other feys, the one she didn't knew told her to cast her water shield and she was going to, but she did notice that the hound was getting bigger."This is not good," she tought, "it seems our attacks, either magical or physical, only make it more resistant to them."Rabiyu was floating, almost touching the ground, but she then made a swing with one of her daggers and all the water from her previous attack and defense gathered and spread in front of her, also protecting Alastor and Dawson. The wall was twice the size of her previous one, it also covered more space and that meant more protection from the fire attack of the hound. Slowly the wall began to change form, it began to surround the Doom Hound and turning his own attack against him, if the barrier could trap it inside, the hound would suffere from his own attack and the explosion from the barrel."I think you should stop taunting the creature, sir," Rabiyu said to Dawson, "it began to grow once you began taunting it, our attacks helped too I suppose."The High Elf then looked at Alastor, her bow ready to shot another arrow."The more we prolong this fight, the harder it will get," she said in a neutral tone, "It is highly recommended that we stop fooling around and completely destroy the creature before it gets stronger and more resistant to our attacks, or else it will run rampant in the city, and I doubt Lord Raiden would like that, nor his guests."Rabiyu felt that Alastor was important enough to know Raiden, so she just said what was on her mind. She talking about the Lord's guests was half a lie, the group from before were no fey, so it was obvious that they did not belong in the overworld, perhaps they were part of the reason the barrier was disturbed by either Lord Raiden or someone else. Vaude 536 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) - Lord Raiden, arguing inside the grand hall of his villa - Raiden imbibed Soran's words with deep consideration, pleased with the fact that he was understanding of both parties and their ideals. There was a man he was glad to recruit, even if it has been a day thus far, even if his confidence was shaken. Who could doubt the reasoning behind it, however? For a long length of time, Raiden was opposed to many of the queen's decisions and was building up a force to back his plight to unite the two worlds, with or without her help. With her help, however, might have been far worse than without, strangely enough. And then there was Midnea. That spiteful crow, thought Raiden with an inward frown. Would that I could, I would greatly desire to verbally strip her of her power by exposing her identity, but that might damage my plight and come off as petty. Beyond that, it seems her talons are deeply embedded in the king's mind. Nevertheless, I shall be the victor. Brushing back his hair, he started: "Lady Midnea, is it? You should go back to your notes so that you can find your fallacies. I have evidence where you have no backing beyond speculation. From what I have heard, the missing individual may have led you astray and not given you full information, but for now I will look into this theft with the potential that this is not the same man performing two crimes. However, don't underestimate the strength of my associates' detective abilities. I know more than you know, dearie, and I will find out all there is to know within the day, possibly before you even leave." He cast a wide grin at her, mischievous yet sincere. "Let these be the final words of our debate. "Moving on to you, good Soran. I am . . . speculative regarding the queen's backing, like yourself. We share a troubled history, but we also share an understanding that survived all those years that the gains far outweigh the potential for loss. It is for that reason that I am assuming this as the best course of action, but in the case of deceit I am bracing for the worst. Restoration will be provided to the world below, I assure you." The tone of his voice dropped to a whisper as he murmured in the end, "One way or another, it will." - The Infiltrator, arriving on scene of the ongoing battle at the gate of Mystras - Rushing down the streets with an tasteful light fixture now affordably stashed to an assembly on his back, the Infiltrator cut every corner he could to rush to the ongoing fight with the doom hound at the gate. He could hear the sounds of chaos: clashes, howls, cries of thunder, and small warning chimes which sounded off from the gatehouses and intermediary positions of the walls, difficult to hear unless you were out in the open air so as not to awaken the general public. The general public near the commotion, however, was probably more than alarmed at the present. It took some time, but he breached through the last gatehouse to the final tier of Mystras and found his way to the scene. All sorts of confusion could be viewed from the fight in the streets, and he had difficulty discerning friend from foe. Was it one versus all, or was there a number on either side fighting the other? It was wisest not to rush in without knowing the enemy, but luckily he recognised Alastor amidst the group. "Alastor, a report, please! What's going on here?" The Infiltrator barked over a surge of electromagnetic energy, EM armour building upon him as he started walking closer to the field of battle. The majority of the action happened around the wall of water that started contouring around something. If the enemy was inside and if there was any time to talk, it was now to step up to the plate. Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted April 7, 2017 --Queen Shiva and a familiar face -- Kilkis Seres-- A soft smile played on the queen's pallid lips, sitting gently back in her seat, fluid as water. "Very good. I am glad to hear that you will accept. I look forward to having you with us, Helios. And"--the hardness in her voice softened, even if briefly--"welcome back to the Overworld." The conclusion of the twins, however, was not greeted with quite as much enthusiasm. Nearly everyone protested their return to Raiden's humans, which certainly filled the queen's heart with discontent. If this king that Raiden held was as dangerous and cruel as they claimed, why would he be helping them? There was something certainly amiss, something which she would have to delve further into. If this Alderon was indeed as chaotic as the others claimed, he definitely had no place in their world, and she partly had to wonder what kind of madness was tossed into Raiden's head to ever consider an alliance with him. "Yes, Prince Jynn, you may speak," she offered, tilting her head in his direction, gaze moving to her son. "What suggestions do you have?" "I would also like to add one as well, Your Royal Highness, if it pleases you." The doors to the throne room closed with a dull thud as two tall fey with elegant fairy wings closed them, having allowed the newcomer into the trial. His blond hair flowed with radiance over his shoulders, emerald-green robes new and freshly pressed. Yevgeni walked down the carpeted rug, kneeling to Shiva and Jynn from his position behind Aura, Aurion, and Helios. "My queen, I must beg your forgiveness for my absence from your side. I will not bore you with the trivial details presently, but I would like to vouch for these two"--his green eyes darted up toward Aura and Aurion sharply, before fixating the queen with an intense stare once more--"to remain here, in our care, within Kilkis Seres. Or at least for a little longer." Much silence fell throughout the court, with the exception of one of the guardian fairies dropping their spear. --Curvis and Ren -- Raiden's villa -- All of this arguing was making the young knight feel sick to his stomach. He could partly understand Alderon's concerns, but it put him at unease that they were tempting fate so greatly by instigating an argument with the fey. After all, these creatures were thousands of years old and powerful beyond belief. It seemed to him that it would make the most sense to walk away quietly, while their lives were still guaranteed. He'd seen Alastor, and he could only imagine how ugly Raiden could get if angered. As Midnea was doing right then. He wanted to say something to her, so desperately, to get her to leave gracefully and join them for breakfast, but he couldn't. It wasn't his place. Such an action could have him heavily prosecuted. Midnea was Alderon's royal advisor--and perhaps much more, if given from their exchanges and kisses--but that was none of Curvis' business or concern. Instead of do anything he continued to bite down on his tongue, praying that he could at least plead for Raleigh's life if things got ugly. A heavily-armored knight entered the room, walking right in between Raiden, Midnea, and Soren, as though such gatherings were a common occurrence, and he were rather used to getting in the middle of things. "Milord," he began, proffering a Mystran bow. "Your guest has arrived. I hope you don't mind that I have brought him into your audience." Keeping a distance away from the curious group of fey and humans stood a tall slender man, dressed in rags and a very tattered cloak. His red hair was greasy and hung in clumps around his gaunt face covered in stubble. It clearly had been a while since he'd taken care of himself in any manner. Ren stood there nervously, watching as the Mystran knight and Raiden communicated, heart pounding in his chest. It had been some time that he'd been in the company of people, let alone those of great importance. He stole a glance at the congregated humans, watching with curiosity twinkling in his dark eyes. There seemed to be something rather serious going on; he truly hoped that he wasn't interrupting. Stardustblade358 806 Posted April 8, 2017 -Helios - At Judgement - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), and Henry(?)- Helios felt that the situation was unreal. He was given a mercy that was rarely unheard of, a chance to make up for the mistake he had made of leaving to the forbidden world. Yes, in a way, he was once again under imprisonment. With golden chains and a watchful eye by the entire royal staff, to serve and make up for mistakes. But it was merciful, and better than what he had imagined and hoped. He felt...undeserving of it, in a way. Ariana had died and Ren was still trapped and jailed up for doing the very same thing he had done. He felt that he shouldn't have been treated any better. But one thing at a time. If he proved himself to be useful enough, maybe he could eventually ask for Ren and a possible pardon for him too. But right now, the safety of his human friends was the first thing at hand. To make sure that they didn't end up being delivered to Alderon on a silver platter. He was happy that at least the prince understood the dangers of the situation had they be brought to Alderon. He smiled at them, yet, such as suddenly, someone entered. Yevgeni. Who, to the surprise of everyone, actually vouched for the twins. Now that was suspicious right out of the get go. Who was this guy? And what the heck did he want with the twins? By the surprise and actions for everyone else, he seemed to be respected. His aura alone was...a tad bit overwhelming. Not as much as Henry's but it was notable. Instinctively Helios stepped between the twins and Yevgeni, ready to protect them again, and from anything. He wasn't complaining that someone else wished for their safety...but it also brought worry. What did he want from them? For experiments much like Alderon had done with him and Ariana? Leverage? He was too paranoid to simply see it as a sign of good will. "What do you want with my friends?" Helios questioned. The flying monkeys, Romeo and Juliet, sitting each on Helios' shoulders before also glaring at Yevgeni just out of the fact that Helios was doing it. Monkey see, monkey do. -Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Raiden's Morning Call- Arthur felt like a child watching a fight between their parents, eyes darting back and forth as each spoke their own concerns, trying to one up the other and bring the discussion into their favor. In the end it seemed that Raiden had the last word of it, even though it seemed that Alderon was not very happy about it, and was planning on adding to the mater, once he had cooled down, of course. He got something out of it, however. His question was answered. As it turned out, they weren't the first humans that had been in the Overworld, that humans lived alongside Fey, yet something had happened between them, and much like in every situation before, it ended up in a war that ended in death, the barrier, and the separation between the two worlds. It made Arthur's imagination to run wild. A whole history of humanity that was never mentioned before, lost to history and time, generations ago. Now he wanted to know more. He wanted to talk to Raiden further, and ask more questions. Were there books that he could possibly read? How long had all of this occurred? Was he present when it all happened? He was already starting to see Raiden as the father figure he had lost long ago, and such questions only intrigued him further. Somehow, Arthur managed to keep himself from bursting out into a flurry of questions, looking up at Curvis before shrugging at him. Well, they could probably bring back some Overworld breadsticks. And if they had a few hours, maybe he could find a book to read and take notes on before returning. Soon someone new entered, a guest that Raiden seemed to be expecting. The young man looked like he had seen better times, clothing tattered and his appearance disheveled, not seen proper care in who knows how long. But Arthur had learned from very early on that appearances could be deceiving. Considering he was Raiden's guest, too. The thing he found most stunning was his eyes. They were...so dark. Elrandir 783 Posted April 8, 2017 - Aeternum Siblings - Judgement Day in Kilkes Seres Castle - Helios -Aura could feel a strange feeling of uneasiness when a new voice was heard behind her. It was not a good feeling, not at all. She was working multiple scenarios in her head after she heard the words of the newcomer, most of them not good. Aurion meanwhile was looking around, this person made everyone in the room remain silent, besides the sound of a spear falling, of course."Oh, um...thank you?," Aurion said quietly, "But it seems to us that the Queen had other plan for us."The younger sibling turned to look at her brother and slightly shook her head."We do not wish to cause problems," she whispered in a neutral tone to Aurion and Helios, "While we would be grateful to be allowed to stay, I feel that this would not be a wise choice, same as confronting that man. Let us watch how this situation develops, and then we can decide what to do." - Cave deep in Isopolis Shrine -Apparently one of the prisoners escaped from Isopolis, if all the ruckus was to be trusted. It was an impressive feat, for being almost impossible to escape from this place, of course. The white haired man was sitting on a rock near the opening of the fabled barrier that separated the worlds, his eyes closed and his presence completely unnoticed since the time he had arrived.------------------"Go forth, investigate the cause of the disturbance and, if possible, descend and look at the state of the world below. Eliltari is yet to report to my wife. If Mystras' lord is indeed involved, then we must learn of his reasoning. King Alexander doomed the world below, and Queen Shiva is following on his footsteps. Eliltari's report will allow us to decide if we support Raiden, or if we remain neutral."------------------Those were the words given to the white haired man before leaving. The youngest of the Judges was currently traveling to Mystras, maybe she was already there, and if she was then it begets the question, why her report was late? Oh well, Eliltari's mission was different that his mission, one that he needed to start before his luck actually ran out."Millennia ago I descended," he thought, "Ages ago I saw those weak creatures and helped them. Now it is time for me to return and see the state of the world I watched grow a long time ago."The white haired man jumped and landed near the edge on the cliff and spreaded his arms out, it was time to move, if there was a change in the overworld then he was going to be notified by the King, the Queen or any of the other Judges. With one last look at the strange floating boat that held the essence of humans Sifrei Mond made a leap of faith. He could feel the wind on his face, and how the arcane energies of the overworld slowly made themselves thinner and thinner with every passing second. The magic of the world below was faint, obviously caused by the separation of both worlds, perhaps the humans forgot about the concept of "magic" after two millennia, which was good in his eyes, but it only served as small consolation for his sin. It would take time to get to the world below, meanwhile Sifrei turned around and watched as Isopolis slowly disappeared in the distance.
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted April 8, 2017 Jynn Venas - Courtroom within Kilkes Seres Jynn was relieved to hear that Shiva was willing to listen to him. He takes one glimpse at the twins and faces back to his mother. "Prehaps we can......." But then Yevgeni enters the room and vouches for the humans to stay in the Overworld a little longer. While this was an option that Jynn was suggesting, the fact that Yevgeni wanted them to stay was a bit concerning to the prince, as the elf can be quite unpredictable. He faces back to Shiva. "He pretty much stated exactly what I was wanting. We could give them my abode near Mystras until this Alderon has left the Overworld. It is well hidden, not even Raiden is aware of its presence, well guarded, and it's troll and monster free. These guys will be safe there." Returning to his concerns, Jynn turns back to Yevgeni. "I am glad you're siding with me on this matter. Though I do ask, is there something that your planning to do with these humans? Hopefully you understand my concerns Yev." Bherna Lao - Kilkes Seres with Izanami Sisters Bherna nods once Takao lets go of her. "The Queen will let me and both of you in. She is very kind and friendly. So is my father, the prince. Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted April 8, 2017 --Shiva de la Alexandria and Yevgeni Malachite -- Kilkis Seres-- Helios intense glare was met with one of equal fervor, his pallid cheeks intensifying in color. "If I understand this correctly," he began, voice low yet perfectly clear, "I believe you are the one who has been granted a very merciful pardon for your treason, and I, a very old friend of the throne, am merely petitioning for the best interests of our country and your friends. I would get your tone in check and remember your place, boy, unless you really disregard the lives of your friends that much." "That will be enough." The queen lifted her head from her hand, clearly unimpressed by the new chain of events within the throne room. "Yevgeni, this is unexpected. I didn't even know of your arrival. You do realize that these are humans that you're suggesting stay within our realm, don't you?" Yevgeni rose from his position on the floor, smoothing his robe down with his gloved palms. "Yes, I have been debriefed about the situation, Your Highness, and I beg your forgiveness for overhearing the majority of the trial as well. I think it is in our best interests to host the humans with us for the time being, as well as their own." It was now the prince's turn to speak, his words, surprisingly, echoing his own. With a catch. "I am disappointed that my time in the services of the prince have stirred such great distrust in me," he stated, his tone nearly as stiff as his stance. "However"--he turned to glance at Jynn, his green eyes expressionless--"I will respect your concerns, Your Highness, and I would happily explain. "Clearly these children are of interest to our enemies: the mad king that Lord Raiden hosts within his home. Sending them back would inevitably put them in harms way until this situation remedies itself, or at least until a substantial amount of time has passed and there's no longer wanted posters on the walls for them. "Of course, there is also the inevitable possibility that Helios is playing us all for fools, and none of them can be trusted. Sending them back unwarranted and unwatched may only lead to a recipe for disaster, especially since they have a way to return now, along with allies that reside here. They may even be in league with King Alderon." He drew in a breath, but that was the only pause he took within his longwinded explanation. "I would very much doubt that they are with this king, but we cannot be too careful. Overall, I feel it is a win-win situation to keep them where we can ensure their safety as well as keep them out of trouble if their intentions for us are ill." This was a bit more than Shiva had bargained for. She shot a glance over at Eclaire, wondering what the valkyrie would suggest, though didn't wish to seem feeble and openly ask her opinion here in the court. Many moments of dull silence passed as the queen processed their options, before finally turning to Prince Jynn. "Until this situation is settled and we understand what we're up against, I suppose it is fitting that the humans stay within your home, Jynn. If you would be so kind, would you be willing to stay with them?" But only if you feel up to it, Shiva so desperately wanted to say, to extend her hand and grab her son's. He'd already been through so much and she'd already feared losing him. It felt too soon for them to part ways now. Furthermore, Raiden now knew that he was his son, and if Raiden really were being dishonest and there was more awry than she'd once realized . . . . "I would also be willing to accompany the prince and ensure their safety," spoke up the blond. "If it pleases you, My Queen--" "No, it does not," Shiva interrupted the elf harshly. "You will be staying in Kilkis Seres. Your services are needed here, and I have some matters which I would like to discuss with you, particularly of our position with Mystras." The harshness of her tone and words seemed to visibly wound Yev. He bowed his head low, reminiscent to a child who wished for his punishment to end. "Very well. I am forever yours to command, Queen Shiva." You've always been my father's, but never mine, Shiva wanted to snarl at him, but chose against it. Instead she ignored him and rose from her throne. "So it is settled: these two humans shall stay within my son's home, with his companionship should he feel up to the task. Helios is being granted a conditional second chance. Should he perform his duties well and remain loyal, he will be granted a full pardon." She turned to her companions, chiefly Eclaire and Jynn. "This court is adjourned."
