- Maxis - The Armor - Venturing into the tomb -

It didn't take long for Maxis to simply fade out as he left Kilkis Seres's gates, as he soon reappeared, in a secluded area, what secluded area? The forgotten forest south of Gladeus. A forest that hasn't been visited by life for millenia. Once a hideout to many bandits and their clans, even a war tribe in the ancient, uncivilised times of the Fey. However they simply vanished without a trace, and very few that venture within this forest come out. In gladeus, this forest is completely off limits and prohibited to all inhabitants.

Those foolish enough to venture within...find themselves overwhelmed by its apparently strong magical pressure, their minds broken and insane within hours of entering it. It was a cursed place...and cursed for one reason. It meant a lost tomb was within it, A tomb in which Maxis had felt its presence recently, an ancient power emanating from it...A familiar...power.

He walked through the forest, its power had no effect on him, as he was not fey nor human. He walked, with his hands on his inexistent pockets. Of course this made him look ridiculous as he literaly had his hands on his hips. Until he created two shadowy holes he could fit his hands into. "Much better" He commented, as he found where the tomb laid.

To his surprise...Seems like the previous adventurers found the tomb as well, but they didn't get far, at least two skeletons were left rotting at the entrance to the tomb's gate, which was a literaly trapdoor. Supposedly the deeper you went into the forest, the worse the pressure gotten, so he'd imagine the tomb was the hotspot for it.

He stood in front of the tomb The trapdoor, a stone door, trapped with vines and mold from ancient times, however with a faint, grey crystal on a circle in the middle. Maxis's eyes lit up, the eye symbol on his chest began to glow as well. "Magno ostio in oblivione. Aperire vas tuum." Maxis emited these words of the ancient tongue. As the door's crystal began to glow intensively, as the trapdoor slowly moved...to reveal stairs. "Huh, I remember the words!" Maxis spoke, joyful, even fist bumping the air in excitement, as he quickly recomposed himself and went down the stairs.

Stone lamps began to ignite and shine through the darkness of the tomb, seen these ancient constructs from his...physical time were still working. The stairs went on for a good ten minutes. Until he finally reached a singular room...with ancient, preserved statues. Three in total, one in each wall of the room. Each holding a different color of orb. One green, one Red and one Blue. And the stone coffin in the middle of the room. With a purple crystal in it.

It was time to begin the ritual...Maxis held out his right hand, pointing at the right statue, the one with the blue orb. "O stellam ab oriente" THe statue's orb began to glow, as it shot out a beam of energy towards his hand. The same color as its orb.

Then his left hand, pointed at the leftmost orb. "O stella in occidentem" He spoke, as it did the same with its green orb. Next, with his chest positioned towards the last statue. in front of him "O stella aquilonem" As it shot its bean of power towards his chest, in his eye symbol as the energy flowed through him. He concentrated for a second. Before all three statue's energies ran out and all that was left was an orb of power he held with both hands. "Et undo in hoc signavit vas vestro". He said as he slammed the orb into the purple orb in the coffin, as it glew extremely bright for a few seconds before exploding into to glass shards. As the coffin was magicaly unlocked.

Maxis simply began to push the cofin's lid out, revealing the living armor underneath it. "It is time for you to wake up...You've been asleep for long...My fellow armor." Maxis spoke with a happy, and respectful tone. As he waited for its response. Extending his hand to help it up if it needed it.

- The Gladeus Tomb -

The Living Armour, Maxis, had ventured into the long forgotten resting place of one of his kin, his will and presence alone was enough to stir the long sleeping comrade of his. Completing the rituals necessary, he slid off the Coffin's lid and beckoned the other living armour to awaken with an extended hand...

The Chaperone stirred, his body stiff from his oversleeping but his aura was still strong, the runes on his chest began to glow lightly and if one looked closely, they would see something similar to eyes behind the helmet, but they were not eyes, he was a living armour, not a simple Knight. An armoured hand, cold as it has ever been, reached out from the coffin to meet with Maxis's own, using it to hoist himself from his resting place and stand before his comrade in metal.

Meksis, the Forgotten Chaperone, had awoken.

-------------------

- Meksis, The Chaperone - His Tomb -

Meksis cracked his "neck" and stretched, moving his limbs to loosen them up, believe it or not, metallic limbs get a little stiff sometimes as well. He looked to Maxis, the one who awoke him at last and let out a small chuckle. "Figured I could count on you to wake me should anything go wrong, my friend...what have I missed?" Meksis spoke, his voice smooth as silk but deep with authority, pleased to see Maxis for the first time in thousands of years, the latter being the problem, Living Armours are not meant to sleep for so long and it was going to show, not only in how out-of-depth Meksis could potentially be, but what had worked it's way into his very being over the millennia.

"I wonder...how ever did you remember the incantations needed? You once had difficulty remembering just how cracked one of your opponent's skulls was when they made a passing remark against your forsworn!" His capacity for humour and talk hadn't been blunted, though Meksis did feel a little down as he, again, realized he had indeed slept for too long. "Hmm...I feel like I should say that was five hundred years ago...but it wasn't, was it? Whatever the case, I am ready to perform any duties necessary. Who's the monarch now?" Snapping to attention halfway through talking, Meksis's tone went from melancholy to attentive and steadfast as he became inquisitive as to the passage of time.

Dawson - Front Gates of Mystras

Dawson is returning to Milos from a Tigrex hunt in the mountains near Mystras. A Mystrain guard bows to the Palico. "Mystras thanks you for stopping that awful monster. Who knows what could've happened if it ventured too close to the city." Dawson bows in return. "My pleasure to be of service. Hunting monsters is what I do best."

As the two converse a little more, a howl echoes from the city gates. Dawson is a bit on edge. "Nya? What was that?!" Both Dawson and the guard run to the front gate to see some of the gatekeepers dead, most of them are unconscious. Dawson then looks on to see a dark, dog like figure walking away. At first, the guard confuses it with a monster. "It looks like a Zinogre." But Dawson knows monsters better than anyone. "Impossible. Those live only in tropical environments. It has to be something else."

The guard then turns back to the city. "I need to alert the authorities!" Dawson stays and keeps looking at the strange creature. What is this thing?

--Queen Shiva – Kilkis Seres—

A tender smile curved the queen’s lips.  “Well, I suppose you have a point.  I just can’t help but thinking of you as my sweet little boy who needs my protection, when in truth you’ve been quite capable of taking care of yourself for a very long time.  My apologies.”

Her hands remained on Jynn’s shoulders as he recounted the situation, her brow contorting into a frown upon the mention of Helios.  “He’s returned?” she asked, voice hardened.  “Where is he now?”

It had been many years since the queen had even thought about the fey that had fled to the world below, something that had been prohibited for two thousand years, and for good reason.  The last time that fey had intermingled with humans the result was devastating.

Eclaire’s voice infiltrated Shiva’s thoughts, as the rose-haired woman stood up in Helios’ defense.  Her gaze was hard as it met Eclaire’s, though softened as she further processed her reasoning.

“I can see where you are coming from, Eclaire.  You choose to walk the path of mercy as opposed to justice, but you will find in the royal court that such actions are not optional.  The very least I can do is have Helios stand a fair trial, though his actions are commendable.  What news he brings us is very disconcerting.”  She turned her head, studying a painting of a mermaid riding a pegasus on the furthermost wall from them.  “There’s also the possibility that Helios has betrayed us and is now working with the humans.  We must take his words with a grain of salt and consider our options carefully.  This has happened before, and it’s not impossible that it could happen again.

“I would like to speak with Helios in the morning.  Eclaire, would you fetch him for me tomorrow?”

Shiva tilted her head and offered Eclaire a warm smile, hair shifting so that icy-blue locks cascaded over her shoulder.   “And worry not, my dear, for this is only your first night as my retainer.  It will take some getting used to, I’m sure, but it would seem that you’re off to a good start.”

Jynn Venas- In his castle with Shiva and Eclaire

As soon as Jynn mentions Helios, Shiva's smile fades away. She asks him where the young fey was. Looking down, Jynn reluctantly answers. "I had no idea where to take him, so I lended him the living quarters......... I have guards keeping an eye on him.........." He partially turns his head to Shiva. "The kid's barely got any life in him. I could tell."

As Shiva makes her statement to Eclaire, Jynn thought to himself. Should I mention the hybrids' situation? Hmmm. No. I'll discuss it with my mother in the morning. Jynn faces downwards again. "There's.......... something else that I want to talk about. Although, I want only your ears to hear it......"

Bherna Lao - Kilkes Seres

Bherna arrives at Kilkes Seres and lands at the square. She is exhausted. As she lands, she spots Melstrome near the castle. "Mel!" The horse turns his head towards her. As Bherna runs towards him, she trips a couple of times due to the exhaustion. "Mel, is Dad alright?" After the pegasus confirms everything's alright, Bherna sits down. "I'm sorry, but I need to sleep. It's been a long day." She rests her head on a bale of hay and retires for the night. Mel lays down as well and keeps an eye on her.

- Maxis - The Living Armor of Illusion - Reunion -

The very first question Meksis asked Maxis was how much time has passed. "You've been asleep far longer than me, friend. and last time I awoke was a thousand and a half years ago. You've missed a lot." Maxis told Meksis flat out. wheter it was what his fellow armor wanted to hear or not was unknown to him.

Then came the next question, how did Maxis know exactly how to break the seal. "Honestly?" He replied with a shrug. "I have no idea." Maxis flat out admited, he had barely any idea how to unlock the seal, he knew the ancient tongue, and the stars seal. But that was it. "And that guy was asking for it." Maxis added in, as he remembered. "Figured he wouldn't say things like that again with his head split like an egg." Maxis explained.

"You've been asleep i'd wager...Five thousand six hundred and fifity nine years. Thats when I remember 'they' announcing us failures and put us to sleep eternally." Maxis spoke. It was true. The Armors were once created to fight off an evil force, but in the end, after the deed was done, they either went feral from the corruption they suffered from battling said force or flat out stopped working. Soon after that, take it a few decades, they announced the failure of the Armors and began an en mass sealing of all armors. Which resulted in Meksis laying in this tomb today...As for Maxis...

Maxis's train of thought was quickly interrupted as Meksis, without wasting time, asked who the new Monarch was. "Hah, just like in the past, you never wasted time!" Maxis laughed, "My Monarch, at least, goes by the name of Shiva. Come, I shall lead you to her." Maxis spoke. "Just don't mind the skeletons near the tomb's entrance...they didn't have the sigil...I doubt it even exists anymore actualy." Maxis pointed out, just so Meksis wouldn't think it was him. "The tomb's curse killed them." He finished as he began climbing up the stairs, slowly, for Meksis to catch up.

- Henry - The Dreadnaught - Kilkis Seres Castle -

Henry's expression, for once, was of absolute awe at the view of the room they were in. Not only that, he hadn't seen such a comfortable looking bed in a very long time. "I could crash right now..." Henry spoke, as he looked at his arm. Which had healed sure, but now the itching and crawling on his arm was back. Making for a very unfomfortable time. As he motioned himself over to the bed in the rightmost corner of the room.

Before he could look into his arm's matter he heard Helios excitedly announcing to Aura he'd take her to all beautiful places in the world. "We can't get ahead of ourselves, we need to explain to the Prince, or The Queen what Alderon is doing here in detail, and what he's done with you and Ariana..."His voice notably cracking and sounding ver somber and melancholy at the end. After all, he was there when it happened.

"I don't know what they have in store for us tomorrow. And I hope we don't run into that Maxis person again." Henry added, clenching his hand into a fist in anger.

"But for now. I'l sleep, or try to anyway." Henry finished, as he, even with the uncomfort of his arm, fell to sleep almost intantaneously as he laid his head on the pillow. He looked rather peaceful sleeping like that.

And like that, Henry was out for the night.

-Helios - Guest Living Quarters- Aura, Aurion, Gel, and Henry-

Helios couldn't help but to smile as Henry was out like a light. Though his words stuck with him. He was right, they had a long way to go...regardless how much positive thoughts he would throw into it. "You're right." He hummed, his mind turning back to the name. Ariana. Thinking of her alone made his heart ache. She went through too much. When the two were locked up they would speak to each other, using the echo of the halls to carry their words until one of the guards got tired and insisted on them to quiet down. When one was taken, the other would be waiting for them in return, to bring any comfort in the hell that they lived. One day they took Ariana away...and she never came back. He didn't know what happened to her specifically, if she died painfully or if she died quickly, if there were any last words that she wished to share, he didn't even know what happened to her body. Was she buried? Burned? Who knows. Guilt attempted to consume his heart again, how he should have insisted on them using him instead of her, how he had done something, anything to have saved her, but what could he have possibly done, if he could do anything? He wanted to ask Henry and Gel. He really did, ask them if they saw her, if she suffered, anything...but he was also terrified of what they would tell him in response. "Henry has a point. We should rest. Tomorrow is another big day." Helios insisted, turning as he rested on the cushions, looking over the window. He whistled a tune, a small red colored bird flying through and landing on his hand. He had no idea what happened to Ren. He could only imagine, seeing that they didn't even speak of him as if he were alive...Helios feared that he might end up sharing the same fate. If he did...then he had to make sure that at the very least, they would try and stop Alderon. They had to. No one should suffer like Ariana did. Like Henry did. Like Gel did. He turned to the bird, tilting his head and whispering something into its ear. Once he was done, the bird flew off from his hand and back out the window. Helios rested back, curling up around one of the cushions and eventually drifting to sleep. For once, in so long, he dreamed peacefully, of if he could've done things different, maybe he could have seen Ren and Ariana's smiling faces again. Tell jokes. Annoy each other. But it was silent. He'd forgotten how their voices sounded like, after all.

- Aeternum Siblings - Living Quarters of Kilkes Seres Castle - Helios, Gel, Henry -
Aurion was the first one to get in one of the beds. It was like a little slice of heaven! it was soft and comfy, nothing could compare.
"Indeed," Aurion said, "Today was a strange day. Exciting, but strange, nonetheless."
Aura kept gazing out, the city was quiet and peaceful, she could imagine living in a place like this. The problem? They were outsiders. Maybe Henry and Gel would be permited to stay, but what about them? both her and Aurion were pureblood humans, and apparently humans weren't welcomed in this world.
"Rest well," She said to everyone in the quarters, "Let's hope tomorrow is a better day."
The young Aeternum made her way to the bed, and sure it was nice. Her mind wondering what would happen the next morning, she hoped that the Prince listened to Helios's words and took them to heart. Alderon was a threat and he had to be stopped. Sleep slowly took over Aura's mind, until there was nothing but darkness.

- Alastor - The Storm incarnate - Engage the doom hound! -

Alastor kept a steady pace as Rabiyu commented on the reveal of Midnea being alive and well, and plotting. He cocked his head to the side as Rabiyu spoke of Alicia and Jynn. "I doubt it wasted time with her." Alastor gave his input. Before he could ask who this other person was, he heard the screaming and howling alongside Rabiyu.

"I heard that, yes..." Alastor spoke, before beginning to walk faster. "No it is not...I believe that IS the problem." Alastor spoke, at the last word he vanished in a trail of pale lightning as he moved faster towards the position.

As he arrived he saw, A Doom hound, a very rare creature, a random guard, two corpses, and one feline-like warrior. He didn't quite remember the name of the species.

Alastor reappeared into scene, his armor crackling with all the lightning splendor possible, as he stepped by the guard, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Alert Raiden of a monster within the city." Was all Alastor spoke, as he looked at Dawson.

"If you wonder what it is, it is a doom hound. A powerful, yet rare creature, thought to be extinct by now." Alastor spoke, as he began unsheathing his dual swords.

As a literal tempest began forming around him, both lightning and water circling him.

"Its tough creature. So do watch out." Alastor spoke as he overlookedd the creature...and took advantage, before the Doom round (Red knight). Could get a bearing of its surroundings, Alastor had already flash stepped behind it with lightning.

As Alastor quick swung his blades downwards making a cross slash. Which exploded into pure lightning energy wheter it hit its mark or not. Regardless, the Doom hound would have to be quick and agile to avoid it without taking damage.

Right after Alastor stepped back, entering a guard stance, waiting for the beast's counter attack. "Its savagery is balanced by the fact it expends a lot of energy on its attack." Alastor commented. "Unless you make it angry, in which case it has infinite." Alastor finished. His voice sounding...unimpressed...very unimpressed.

- Typhon and Mikhail - The Bug man Evolves! -

"No...cities..." Typhon managed to mutter as he twitched and turned. "Yes...His kind is hunted by every capital in the Overworld. Kill on sight." Mikhail explained with a pained look in his face.

As Jari and Ellia offered help, it was far too late. Typhon's mutation had already reached fatal levels. His body was practicaly encased in what seemed like a body-tight cocoon. And Typhon stopped moving, His skin twisted and turned, basically destroyed. He was unrecognizable for a few moments.

"Dammit..." Mikhail spoke, with a pained tone, before his expression turned to that of  surprise as Typhon's corpse cocoon began wriggling and...moving...soon enough parasitic tentacles began shooting out of it, grabbing hold of anything with matter, trees, weapons... them if they weren't careful.

Mikhail quickly protected himself with a queen magic barrier, but he wouldn't be able to help the others. As Typhon began consuming mass...it detected the remains of jimba's corpse. A literal goldmine of matter.

The cocoon semeed to be growing in size with every bit of matter if consumed and drained. Soon enough it began shooting tentacles at Jimba's corpse. The huge giant's body was slowly dragged towards the cocoon. Now slimy, with acid pouring around it. The body was soon dragged close enough to physicaly contact. As it was quickly swalloed up and literally digested.

a few moments of silence later. And a fully developed cocoon formed.

"What the..." Before Mikhail could express his surprise.

The cocoon began rupturing, cut open from the inside out. As Walked out a newly evolved Typhon. In his Warrior evolution. With a metallic looking exoskeleton. As slime and mucus slid off him, Typhon exchanged looks with everyone.

"So...I wasn't expecting that..." Typhon commented. As he looked at his hands and body. He had heard tales of his species having the ability to change form and evolve, but he never seen it before. It was...incredible. He felt more powerful, tougher, more agile. What new mysteries could this body have?

Typhon has reached his Level 1 form: Cyph Warrior.

vBdcM9E.jpg

The following bonuses have been applied to him and his stats.

  • Capable of forming weapons out of his Exoskeleton, much like his armblades. And coat them in acid.
  • Stronger, faster and less self damaging Acid generation and use.
  • Slight agility increase
  • Significant Durability and toughness increase, with both a sturdier physique and exoskeleton.
  • Small upgrade in magic resistance.
  • Bug generation and bug effectiveness upgrade.
  • His body now slowly heals itself, his exoskeleton passively fixes itself as well.

Bonus: Since Jimba's body was used in the evolution process, with the strenght of Jimba's race and high magical power of the same. Typhon has been granted an extra buff in magic sense and resistance. And has been given an even bigger boost in strenght. Equivalent of his adaptive ability when taking in Jimba's race's blood.

- Alex -  The Prodigy - Standing his ground -

Alex was at a loss for words at the scene of Everyth, Effie and Pracia, Pracia's sheer existence bugged him to no end, at how could something like her exist? And he caught a glimpse of Everyth's magical power, he was curious, but not exactly so much as to drop his guard against the Duke, whom Alex glared back below his helmet.

"Oh, its quite the contrary, you should be the one surrendering." Alex spoke as he waved a hand at the Black knights in the distance clashing with the Helvadorians and winning.

"Your army is surrounded on three fronts, the Royal army is mobilizing a push, your army will be sandwiched in no time." Alex spoke the truth to the Duke. As helvadorians continued to fall, and more bodies were pilling up.

"You are the one who should stand down...Duke..." Alex threatened the man. As he held out his sword and shield, prepared for combat.

Rabiyu - Front Gates of Mystras - Vs Doom Hound
Rabiyu was not that impressed when Alastor simply vanished, instead she jumped into the roofs and ran towards the source of the noise, her steps completely silent and her dark misty cloak provided the perfect camouflage after the clouds had covered the light of the moon, no one would notice her moving. When she arrived she noticed that the sight was not a nice one, not with the state of the two corpses.
"I do not think this is good," she thought as she took cover behind one pillar before the creature could notice, "Do not let it make any sort of contact, unless I want to get hurt."
The High Elf was watching as Alastor attacked the creature, this Doom Hound. He was Incredibly fast, she barely managed to follow his moves. She quickly got her bow and an arrow ready and pointed it directly at the creature's chest.
"Infernus santio dracmeel," Rabiyu whispered as the arrow began to get engulfed in red glyphs, "Ancient spirits of fire, come forth and vanquish everything in thy path."
She was ready to shoot at a moment's notice, it was only a matter of time until the creature launched its counterattack, she had the element of surprise and she was going to take advantage of it one way or another. This creature needed to be Stopped, no, destroyed would be better,no one would be safe if this thing was running around, the two corpses were proof of that.

Dawson - Mystras Gates joining the fight against the Knight in Red

As Alastor arrives, he tells Dawson the details of the mysterious beast. "A doom hound? The Guild has mentioned the beast and its rarity plenty of times...... Never thought I'd see one myself...." Alastor then explains more about the hound. The Palico is intrigued. Huh...... A challenge! He notices Alastor hitting the beast with powerful attacks. "Well, he seems strong. Very strong." Dawson's hunting instinct kicks in heavily. "I shall assist you in any way I can!" He pulls out a horn and plays a melody to give Alastor a temporary boost to his power. Dawson calls forth a large and extremely sharp boomerang coated with a paralyzing liquid, and hurls it at the beast.

Regardless if the boomerang paralyzed the beast or merely damaged it, the Palico then summons his axe and coats it with a strange powder. It made the axe blade heat up dramatically, and any strike from it may release explosive damage to the beast. He runs up to the hound and takes a couple of slashes before jumping back to Alastor's side.

Meanwhile, the guard heads back to the city. As he reaches the city square, he frantically looks around for any authority figure. But then he decides to run to Raiden's Villa. As he nears it, he yells out to attract any attention inside or out. "There is a hell hound on the loose at the gate! We need reinforcements!"

- The Infiltrator, pausing in the passages within Raiden's villa -

The copycat was like a sleuth as he maneuvered through the ancient pathways of Raiden's villa, the shadow on his shoulder more than giddy with a grin that seemed to shine brighter and brighter.  He felt for a strange moment or two on edge, even though those two should have been the only ones navigating the hidden tunnels.  Was it Nihil playing his dark tricks early or was it something else?  Whatever it was, it disturbed him to a great degree, and while it took little time for him to push his way closer to Midnea's chamber the sensation proved stronger as time progressed.  Finally, it clicked, and his pace ground to a halt.

"What's the matter?  Something up?" asked Nihil with a purr not so soothing.

"I sense . . . conflict.  The Raiden you know may be cautious, but I am more so, and I am registering a lot of spikes of activity by the sensory nodes I placed throughout the city.  One was short and unnecessary to check out, but this one involves someone familiar.  I have little doubt it is the great confidant."

"The sourpuss?  Oh, what was his name?" yawned the shade nonchalantly.  "Alastor?  Yes, that's him.  Is he going off the deep end or what?"

"I know not, but something has him on edge enough.  Into your lamp, djinni."

"You really aren't any fun at all," Nihil pouted, but the grin never left his face even as he slowly seeped into his lamp.  "Ah well.  As you wish, master."

The Infiltrator stood still until the lamp was entirely calm and devoid of any hints of magic.  Once it all was over, he cursed under his breath and plodded into the nearest secret entrance into the halls, removing a five-foot vase and its attached tiles to access the floor.  He quickly allowed it to slip back into place to not show his egress and walked over to the villa's entrance, slipping outside.

So much craziness had occurred within the last few days after so many years of stagnancy, and he had no doubt that it was caused by the great plan, but that was not enough information.  It was time to check what was happening in more depth than merely acting according to plan, and to his amazement it came to him in the shape of a very well-informed guard.

"One of the extinct race has come back?" he commented towards the guard, ensuring with his free hands that his mask secured his features.  The other held the lamp with an iron grip, perhaps embarrassingly so if he had remembered that he was carrying the awkward thing.  "I have not a moment to lose, if that is the case.  Thank you for your aid, sentry, and rest a while.  I will be all the reinforcements they need for the time being, and the bells will bring in the rest."

With a deep Mystras bow, he surged forward in the direction of the town.  In the back of his mind, so many questions churned.  The resurgence of an extinct race at this time was not in the great plan and was far more than coincidence.  Unless the guard was lying, he had a great inkling of its cause, and he had a greater inkling that he was correct in thinking such.

- Rufus Contralto and Jari Coriander, watching in horror in the mountain range -

Jari felt downright horrible, feeling as if everything he did had arrived too late, but he yelped and leapt back as the Cyph at his feet erupted with disgusting parasitic tentacles that creeped every which way.  Changing into a fox and scurrying away helped put some distance between him and it before he stayed put.  The glass phial once in his hand plopped to the ground once he transformed.

No matter how many times his instincts told him to run, he, most regretfully, found that he could not, lest he lose what could be his only chance of aid.  Besides, he needed at least one of those sleeping pills, as nervous as he was and as short of money as his pocket was.  Alcohol could not quell his fears enough to sleep peacefully, and this way he can escape a killer headache.

Rufus practically leapt out of his skin upon Typhon's actions in equal fashion, but, having no ability to transform, simply floated upward and pleaded, "Please don't get close!  Who knows what will happen!" to everyone.  In the end, however, he was just like Mikhail:  surprised.  Out and about in a brand new (Edgar) suit of armour was Typhon.  Will the mysteries never cease?  Rufus kind of hoped they would not!

"Z'ounds!" he piped, summoning up the courage to approach the bugman and circle him with abundant amounts of interest.  He was back to his jovial moods again.  "However did this astounding transmogrification of body work?  He astoundingly recovered to full form, and more besides!  How many times have you done this?  Answer me, youth!  This is all for science!"

Perhaps he was a little overbearing, but Rufus was exceedingly curious.  In the meantime, Jari sloughed off his fox form and returned to his appearance as a human.

"This is getting weirder and weirder," Jari muttered to himself, but he righted himself, swallowed his pride, and gave a decent bow to Elia.  "I owed you an explanation before . . . that . . . happened, milady."  He looked up at her, trying his best to look as sincere as he was.  "I'm from Mystras myself, but I am no longer welcome there.  I am seeking protection from a rather dangerous individual until I reach safe passage.  My coinpurse doesn't have much, but I'll make it worth your while.  I don't eat much and keep to myself.  You won't even know I'm here half the time!"

Morana would say that she was disgusted, but that would be a lie. She ate dead people, it took more than this to strike a nerve. Instead, she was outright impressed. This...species, this kind, at the verge of death he was able to find something to supplement a spontaneous metamorphosis, creating a whole new body. It was horrifying, yes, but by all means, also a grander feat that most wielders of magic could only wish to produce. "Outstanding." She whispered, looking at Typhon. She wanted to jump right in with Rufus to get questioned asked and answered, but from the...well, she would say expression but Typhon had the best poker face she had ever seen, so let's go by voice, yes, that can work. Morana could tell by his voice, his own question, that Typhon probably had no further idea than what they all knew currently, and that it just happened, and well, he was there. It took Morana a while for her to finally mutter out something, the most outstanding thought coming first. "How pretty." She hummed. She glanced at Jari, then at Rufus, then back at Typhon, then at Mikhail. "If his species is meant to be hunted down, would records of it be in the same situation? If not, there should be at least documents or a book that speaks about his kind and...well, whatever just happened." Morana said. Though she sort of felt sad that Typhon hadn't left any scraps of the body behind. She was beginning to get hungry. She slowly turned to Jari, blinking at him. "Well, I guess you could join us, seeing that Typhon and you have somewhat similar circumstances." It was late. She was tired. After that fight, she would be surprised if the rest weren't. "I think we should camp for the night. That fight already left me exhausted." Morana yawned, crossing her arms and tapping her claws against her skin. "But...I'll go with whatever you guys do...I'm starting to get warmed up to you guys."

((*cracks knuckles*, all right, everyone.  Let the prelude of the timeskip end and the finished product for the party in Mystras with the humans and the fey and the pretty smart ponies that trickle across the sky riding billowing clouds and issuing beautiful rainbow vomit begin.))

- Rufus Contralto and Jari Coriander, with the group in the mountains -

Rufus would have been more than happy to reply in favour of Morana's response, quickly drawn away from his interest in Typhon, if only because he was rather oddly a little infatuated with her.  However, Jari beat the speedy djinni to the punch by taking her words and using it in his defence.

"Yeah!" he reverberated.  "My case and the Cyph's are very similar.  We foxchildren have had less than luxurious pasts, and most cities think of us as less than a race and more of an animal.  However, how can they prove anything else if they never give us a chance?  I guess that's one of the reasons why I like you guys.  Call me a great judge of character, 'cause I am, but you don't seem bigoted."

He smiled wide at the entire assembly, a canine tooth jutting forth from his grin.  Rufus, however, was there to pounce upon him in a storm, leaping in front of him with an angry countenance right in Jari's.  The foxchild yelped and fell backward.

"Not for a thousand and a thousand days would I go against lady Elia's words for or against, but if you are to be part of our merry band you must prove your worth!  Earn your keep!"

Jari stiffened and sputtered out, "But I was going to pay you all I have!"

"Not enough, not enough!" piped Rufus.  "You look like you have a good nose.  Find something for Mistress Morana to eat!  She looks famished.  Hurry, hurry!"

The foxchild flinched in worry and ran the other direction, back into the forest to do as he was bidden.  I swear, he thought to himself, I run into the craziest of demanding people!  But at least they will protect me for the moment, right?  Ech, I don't even know anymore.

~~ The next morning ~~

- Lord Raiden, within the dining or grand hall within his villa -

The entirety of Raiden's villa was summoned to the grand hall where the feast had been hosted, including the servants and guards from all shifts.  Some stood half-dead on their feet, eyes drifting steadily beneath sleepy lids as they rubbed their orbits free of the seven o'clock sunlight and slapped their own faces to keep awake.  Others were spunky and full of another day's pep, ready to continue their age-long duties with renewed vigor.  Others still were panicked, having secret knowledge of last night's events.  The mysterious death of one of the guards of the treasury, as well as the aggressive attack on one of the gatehouses, created quite the stir among those who have spied it or heard rumours, some saying Alastor, Raiden's right-hand man, had participated in the protection of the city.  Only murmurs of the present could be heard, however, and the past was left in the past.

An exhausted Raiden stood apart from the crowd comprised of, separately, humans and fey with the possible exception of Midnea.  He had seen better days, having taken little time to clean himself up after the multiple-hour travel time.  Traversing that much distance was straining for someone who had to be quick.

Trickles of people would most likely enter the room late, but he accounted for that as well.  Those within the room would be messengers to those who did not enter.

"I apologise for summoning you all so early," he started out with a strained voice, "but I have urgent news to reiterate to everyone here.  Much has taken place over the course of twenty-four hours, some causes worth celebration and others worthy of silence over fallen comrades.  It has brought me much shame to let such negative actions happen to our fair city for as long as they have.  However, I do not regret having met our new friends from below, a remarkable bunch that has made the journey over the oceans of sky and water to reach our kingdom."

He nodded in the direction of the humans, especially Alderon and, if he were there, young Arthur with whom he had conversed for a time.  Others too caught his eye, including the red-cloaked assassin in the far back who requested a walk, but he soon continued.

"It is for that reason I regret saying that, just as suddenly as you came, you must leave.  I will start with simpler matters first.  I have been in counsel with the queen last night and much has been discussed for the first official time since Mystras' town origins.  An arrangement has been made regarding potential solutions to the problems below, rectifying the world's issues with famine and lack.  However, one of her conditions was the eviction of humans from the entirety of our world, at least, for a time.  While I would enjoy the company of many of you, many of us will not be able to meet for what could be a few years.  And now for the more, ah, pressing matters.

"There has been two disturbances last night, both, I am assuming, has been caused by one of your company.  One of my estate's guards has been murdered, her throat cut by a hasty but practised hand, and my vault has been looted of important artefacts of important nature.  Furthermore, this member of your party has been spotted assaulting and murdering at least two guards at a distant gatehouse.  Getting in or getting out, I cannot say for certain, but he was unmistakably human and will no longer be travelling with you."

This was not the whole truth, of course, but it remained a truth, according to The Infiltrator's eyewitness report.  Ripped flesh exposed the monster within, and the red armour was unmistakable according to him, no matter the change in livery.

Raleigh, the aforementioned person in the red cloak, was very much disgruntled by the thought of it all.  First lay the thought of the two leaders they know of in this world reconvening and saying that the human group would have to leave.  Second lay the notion that because of two discrepancies the rest have to pay, including herself.  They just got to this new, unique, and marvelous place, and now they will be evicted just as soon as they went in.

She searched the company around her with a curious glint in her eye and very little movement in the head, wondering who was missing from the current party of humans that could have been involved with such practices besides herself.  She came up with a blank, but from what was said it was definitely a "he" and was practised with sharp objects.  It was too bad that narrowed the killer to 80% or more of the people she knew, if there was indeed one person that did this.

The sun has begun to rise, light shedding upon the twin worlds many thousands of feet apart.  In both worlds many tides are turning, some for better, while others for the incredible worst.

Queen Shiva and Lord Raiden have struck a temporary truce, their private council providing them with further insight into one another's views.  That morning both leaders have declared a meeting with their new company, each holding content of another matter.  Lord Raiden has news to propose to the council surrounding him within his villa in Mystras, undoubtedly prone to receiving a negative--if not mixed, at best--reception.  Meanwhile, Queen Shiva has just arrived within the throne room, taking a seat and sending for Helios to be brought before her.  She is still unaware that humans had ventured into the Overworld with him, something which is probably in the best interests of the humans.  Whether Helios ventures to the throne room alone or requests his friends' companionship is up to them.  Prince Jynn of Kilkis Seres has also been requested to attend the interrogation of Helios, though he has yet to give his reply on whether he would comply with his mother's request

Meanwhile, a destructive force proceeds to wreak havoc upon Mystras, starting in the dead of night and continuing on until morning.  Alastor and Rabiyu have made an unexpected alliance to find the source of this chaos: the Knight in Red, before any further damage beseeches the land and its civilians.  Dawson, a former companion of the prince himself, has chimed in to help, his aid likely very necessary in taking down the menace they are now faced with.

Within the mountain range, young Aqua, Elia, Rufus, Typhon, Mikhail the witcher, Morana, and now Jari are convening after the fall of the destructive Punisher.  Will they continue on and reconvene in Kilkis Seres, or will they choose to part ways?  A safe place is desired for Typhon and Jari, something which they may not find behind the walls of the kingdom that had once hunted both species.  Yet danger lurks from every corner, and trust is an increasingly difficult thing.  Can this group of companions trust each other enough to stick together and get to the bottom of this conflict?

The former retainer of King Alexander, Yevgeni Malachite, has disappeared without a further trace after the confrontation in Mystras.  His presence is likely not missed by many, and it isn't unlikely that he will make his presence known once again when he feels the need for it to be so.

~(*)~

A vicious battle still is being waged on Sondonian soil, with the lives of hundreds having been taken the previous night.  Despite the Helvadorian Duke's wishes, many of the Helvadorian knights retreated, believing that further fighting was useless and drawing the conclusion that Princess Visco managed to escape in the night.  Those still alive are searching Sondon for the hidden princess, in hopes of bringing her back to their king for a pretty penny.

Effie, Everyth, and Alex are now facing a dangerous encounter, against a woman not likely from their world.  This punisher is dangerous as well as filled with ambition, and seeks the princess just as fervently as the foolish Helvadorian Duke, Sir Reynold.  Will she linger to fight, or toy with her food before eating it?  Perhaps she will seek out the princess and leave them all their to pick up the pieces.  It is difficult to determine, though it is certain that the trio's lives are in danger.

Flashback moment between Jynn and Shiva (Shiva's writing is in aqua, whereas the text that Endless Thundaga wrote for Jynn is in navy-blue).

Living quarters?  This came as quite a surprise to the queen.  She had expected for Helios to be contained in one of the most sturdy prison cells, though she managed to still her tongue.  Both Eclaire and Jynn were quite passionate about proffering sympathy and compassion to the fey, though she questioned whether a violator of the law, such as himself, were worthy of it.

"Very well," Shiva responded at last.  "A good guard watch should suffice, for now, at least."

The queen was preparing to bid her farewells for the night, until Jynn admitted wanting to share something with her.  He seemed either nervous or uncertain of sharing this information with her, which did concern Shiva slightly.  "Yes, yes, of course," she said tenderly, resting an arm along Jynn's shoulders.  "Lady Eclaire, would you excuse us, please?  Thank you."

She led her son away from the main hall and into a sitting room.  Instead of taking a seat, however, Shiva simply removed her arm from around Jynn and fixated her gaze upon him.  "What is it, Son?  Is everything truly all right?"

As soon as Eclaire left the room, Jynn turns back to his mother. "Alright. You're not going to be happy about this, but I lied about being alright." Jynn begrudgingly opens his eye. It was pale blue compared to his right eye, which was royal blue. "I got into a fight with a very aggressive punisher today. He was attempting to kill Bherna for no apparent reason." Jynn did not feel like getting into another argument about cyph.

Shiva's mouth dropped open in concern, her fingers on her right hand reaching toward her lower lip.  "Oh, goodness, Jynn!  Can you see out of it at all?"  She brushed locks of hair from Jynn's face, cupping his cheeks in her hands after she was finished.  Her gaze look tortured as she stared deeply into her son's eyes.

"We will find the best healers within Kilkis Seres immediately.  Surely someone will be able to help you."

Shiva didn't wholly believe this to be true, but she hoped that it were so.

Jynn looks down again when his mother asks if he could still see from his injured eye. Unfortunately for her, he couldn't. "No....... I can't...... My right eye is all I got now......." Immediately Shiva requests a healer to take a look at his eye, but Jynn gently grabs Shiva's hand. "There's more to the story.........." He sighs. He has a lot to explain. That incident did not deserve to be left unquestioned. "After I lost my eye, a strange power took over me. I was consumed by rage, my senses heightened to its complete and utter limit. Then my powers......." He raises his arm and little sparks appeared briefly. "......... turned black......"

There was more?  Once more the queen had to contain herself, listening silently as Jynn started to explain the situation in greater detail.  A frown knitted her brows together.

"Your powers had turned black?" she repeated, trying to understand.  "And you became stronger upon your injury?"  This was curious to her; seldom had she heard of those who could turn rage into pure energy or strength.  She didn't know much of the art, though the fact that Jynn experienced it indeed was a concern to her.

"What happened when your powers turned black?" Shiva inquired, now sitting herself in a nearby armchair.  "Has this ever happened before?"

Jynn takes a seat as well. He clenched his hands together. "I'm not sure if it was just my injury. It was probably my rage that initiated it. It felt like I was being controlled by something. I was so infuriated, I started to act animalistic. I felt extremely energized as well." It was clear that Shiva had never heard of such power. She asks if he's ever experienced it before. Jynn has never ran into this problem. "No, never........ Even back when I was hunting, I never encountered this power."

He crosses his arms and lowers his head. "I'm not obsessed with power, but if something like this lies within me..........." He turns back to his mother. "......... then I need to learn how to control it.........." He looks back down. "I've also been informed that me and one other person are the only feys in the Overworld that can achieve this power and survive."

Such a unique power, one that felt threatening to Shiva.  It concerned her that Jynn was out of control, even if briefly.  What if this were to happen again?  Would he potentially hurt himself, or those which he held dear?  Many concerns flooded her, though she tried to remain calm, at least for Jynn's sake.

At the mention of only one other fey having said power her heart skipped a beat.  Could Raiden potentially wield such energy, only she had never been privy to it?  She dared not voice it of her own volition, unless Jynn should manage to broach the topic himself.  Discussing his true father wasn't exactly the topic that Shiva had in mind for the night.

"Hmm, I see," said Shiva, running a finger along her curved chin.  "Who is this other fey?"

"I have no idea...." He sighs heavily. He wanted to know who this other individual was as well. Just thinking about it is making him irritated and tired. He rises from his seat. "I should probably get some rest. It's been a very stressful day for me." He lays his hand on Shiva's. "Thank you for hearing me out. We'll try to fix my eye in the morning. Good night."

A deep sigh escaped the queen as she clasped her hands together in her lap.  There was much more she wished to say, more that she wished to know, but admittedly she too was exhausted from her own long night and journey into the Ambrosia Forest.

Just then Jynn reached out and touched her hand gently, to which she grasped his tightly.  "Yes, yes, I suppose we could use some rest," she said at last, rising from her seat as she released his hand.  "I would very much like for you to take your place at my side when I interrogate the returned fey tomorrow morning, if you would be willing to attend."

Shiva smoothed down her skirt before offering her son a soft smile.  "Goodnight, Jynn, and welcome home.  I am happy that you are in one piece after the dangerous endeavor that I set you on."

(I'll write for the other characters at a later time, hopefully soon.  I just wanted to get this in for now!)

-Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Raiden's Morning Call-

The wake up call had been unexpected, and rather hurried, but seeing that everyone, including the servants and guards and all personnel within the villa was called upon it, then it must've been something pretty serious. His guesses were correct. Arthur stood by the side of his king and his group, his messenger bag strapped across his chest and his shield resting on his back, listening to room fill itself with murmurs. There was some kind of attack, though Arthur didn't really hear any of it...he had slept like a log. Lord Raiden began to explain, the Queen of this land asking the eviction of the humans, which was understandable. They were foreign and from a land far below, and different. Maybe the Queen just wanted to make sure that they didn't bring any danger, or any sickness that was foreign to these magical lands. Regardless, as sad of news such was that such a trip was cut short, he could put that aside, for such journey alone was more than he could have ever imagined. Besides, that meant that he could go back to the princess sooner, and tell her all about this land and give her the beautiful flowers that Raiden had gifted him. But that was not all that had happened, and Arthur couldn't help but to feel his throat tighten up in worry at the mention that someone from their party, a human, had killed one of their guards, and even stolen from his treasury, out of all things. Arthur's eyes instantly went to look around his group, looking to see if he could recognize a missing person among them that could have been responsible, but so far nothing. Darn it. He should have probably paid more attention on the matter of their group. It was a stab on the back, no pun intended, to their group. Personally, Arthur felt angry. How could someone take advantage of such a historic expedition to steal and run off. The fool, whoever it was, to have done it. "(How terrible.)" Arthur thought. How far could humanity's greed go? If only he knew he had the answer standing next to him in silk robes and a golden crown.

-Helios - Guest Living Quarters- Aura, Aurion, Gel, and Henry-

Helios awoke with a start, jumping as he heard the knock on the door. He yawned, rubbing his eyes to look around. So it wasn't a dream. They were really here. However it also meant that his punishment for breaking such rules was also due. The doors were knocked again, and a couple of knights opened them, stepping into the room, before turning to Helios once they had located him among the room. "The Queen has asked for your presence. It is time for your judgement." The knight said. Ah, speaking of the devil. Helios gulped, nodding as he got onto his feet. Oh boy, now this would be fun. That was sarcasm. This was going to suck badly. Though he had resigned himself to any fate by now. He had come this far, he wasn't going to run away and cower with a tail between his legs. Ren was gone. Ariana was gone. They both paid for the mistakes made, and now it was his turn, and he would not turn away from it, whatever it may be. "Of course." Helios paused, glancing at his friends. Did the Queen even knew of them? He was afraid that if the Queen wasn't feeling merciful today, that they would be next. He was the one who brought them, they didn't deserve any punishment darn it. "What about them?" "The Queen only asked for you...but if they wish to come with you we won't stop you." The guard said, somewhat sympathetic. Helios looked up at them. "...I don't want you guys to face the Queen's anger because of my insistence of bringing you here..." Helios admitted. He was already ready to take the blame for himself. "But I will not stop any of you, either." Helios said with a soft smile. Heck, he didn't know if it would be the last time he saw any of them. One of the guards tapped his shoulder. "The Queen awaits." He insisted. "Right." Helios said, looking back at his friends, and then beginning to follow the knights. Whether they followed or stayed, he had already promised himself that he would protect them until the end. He had already lost two of his dearest, he wasn't about to lose any more. Even to the Queen.

- Morana - Forest near Mystras - Rufus, Mikhail, Typhon, Jari and Elia -

By the time that the sun rose, they still had no idea what to do. They had all come together to defeat this evil thing, but now that the danger was gone, all alliances and personal problems were on focus. Typhon and Mikhail insisted that they could not go to the cities, due to Typhon being a wanted species. To their credit, they were correct, the cities were a bustle of news and activity. If they got caught inside of it, there was a good chance that someone, or more, would end up dead, and was betting it wasn't going to be those two. Then there was Jari, who was also running away and seeking for refuge away from the city. She didn't know of Elia or Rufus' personal agenda either. Morana decided to speak up, looking over at Typhon and Mikhail. "There are some ruins nearby, where a couple lives among one of its many clearings. They are secluded, and kind, and I doubt that they would not offer you a place to stay and food if you asked, seeing your situation. The ruins are like mazes. It should be easy to hide out there." Morana offered. She then turned to the group in general. "I have no clear destination, but after what happened here, I was hoping to maybe go to Kilkes Seres in order to find more information on who that guy was. Not to mention that the prince was injured..." Morana hummed. They were quite the group, but their ideals were different enough to keep them apart if they truly desired of it.

-Eclaire: Throne Room of Kilkis Seres-

As Shiva sat upon the Throne, Eclaire was just behind it. Turned a bit, resting on the back just slightly, she eyed the entire room, on guard. Clad in her regular clothes, she had a hand on her hip, ready to summon any one of her weapons from the depths of her magic storage unit. The woman had to avoid looking directly at Shiva...Goddess why was she such a young girl right now?! She had kissed thousands of fey before, men, women, even teenagers. How is it she was acting like a fool after a single kiss? Was it because she was a Queen? That she was a mother? Or because..she was the old one who believed in her?

Love at first kiss...no...she was infatuated by kindness...she could not fall for feelings that could prove...disastrous. Not now.

Not ever.

She straightened up. Focus. She was the Queen's Retainer. She had to stay focused. Mature. Not...like a young teenager after her first kiss.

The Sisters Izanami: the Road to Kilkis Seres

Xion was asleep under a tree, the warm breeze like a blanket on the skin exposed through her proactive outfit. The Exiled Princess of the Succubi, the Dethroned to be Regent of Mare Luxerian, fed off of onlookers as she slept, a small steady trickle of energy filling her hunger through her nap. Said nap was interrupted by someone managing to sneak up on her and straddle her belly. Only one person could to that.

A hand shot up and flicked a forehead, causing poor Takao to yelp. "Ow!"

"You know better."

"You're not asleep?"

"No." She opened her eyes, lying of course. She reached up again, but only ruffled her younger sister's hair. "News?"

"Almost there!" She said happily. "Only a few more hours of walking! Or we could fly if you want."

"Yeah. Should cut down the time needed considerably."

Takao didn't get off. Xion sighed. "It happening again?"

"Yeah..."

Xion pushed her off and got up, then picked up her sister. Wings spreading, she took flight for the nearest Grove of trees. "Let's take cover."

Her sister hugged her tightly. "Thank you, sis..."

"We have to stick together." Was all she said, alighting in a tree. "Now let me see your back."

Soon half declothed, Xion was tracing the Goddess Sigils on Takao's back, gently massaging the sigil as she chanted. They glowed briefly and fades back to normal.

The dichotomy that the sisters had produced at the Parthenon was invaluable. The Sigils were of Valkyric Light, making them usually incompatible to the black magic of Succubi. But it worked with Takao, with only this minor hitch. Occasionally they'd start to cause discomfort, requiring Xion to chant a stability charm on them. She patted Taka's back.

"Alright."

"I'm hungry."

Xion groaned. Thankfully normal hungry. The boat ride here was...not the best. Eating the crew would have been...bad. luckily those mermaids really liked her adorable sister, and filled her to the brim.

No.

She wanted food-food.

Xion couldn't cook.

"...we'll see."

Xion helped her get her upper clothing back on after the charm, then together they took flight towards Kilkis Seres.

Jynn Venas - Kilkes Seres waking up

It is morning, and Jynn wakes up to the sunlight beaming through the window. As he gets out of bed, he looks around his room. It has been a while since he's been in his old bedroom in the castle, as he usually stays in his abode near Mystras. One of the servants enters his room with his cleaned uniform. "Good morning Jynn! Your outfit is clean and ready." She hangs his garments up. Still tired, Jynn tries to reply. "Huh?......... Oh........ Thanks........................ What time is it?" The servant just laughs and replies. "It's morning." After she left, Jynn takes a few moments to wake up.

As soon as he was ready, he got out of bed and changes from his nightwear to his uniform. He stretches a little bit to make sure the garments are battle ready, to which they are. He then walks to the door, but stops when he notices his old sword in a glass display. He removes the glass and holds the weapon. "Huh. I see it is in good shape, despite being dormant for a couple of centuries." This sword was made from parts of an extinct dragon that once dwelled in the Overworld. He removes the blade from its scabbard. It made a soft, yet high pitched hum upon leaving its shaft. The scales glowed in the sunlight and displayed many colors in certain angles. He then sheathed the blade back into the shaft. "I can't help but feel something bad may happen soon.........." He decides to clip the sword to his belt, and as soon as he does, he exits his room and reaches the throne room where his mother, Eclaire, and a couple of soldiers were in. He greets everyone with a happy tune. "Morning everyone. Sorry if I'm late."

Bherna Lao - Kilkes Seres waking up as well

A nearby rooster signals the rise of morning. Bherna slowly wakes up to the sight of Melstrome walking up to her. "Mel. It's morning already?" The gelding is carrying an apple by the stem. "Is that's for me? Aw, thank you buddy." She grabs the apple, but doesn't eat it yet. She looks up to the castle. "I hope everything is alright with Dad............." She then starts to eat. Mel also begins to chomp away at some hay.

- Meksis, The Chaperone - Leaving his Tomb with Maxis - (Unsure if this should be classified as a flashback now.)

Meksis folded his arms over his chest, intently listening to his friend explain what he could, nodding when Maxis stated off that bat that he had for sure slept longer than his master of illusion for a comrade. "Hmm." Was all he uttered.

The Chaperone was greatly amused by Maxis being his usual blunt self when it came to his remembrance of how to unlock the seal, furthermore by his affirmation that the poor sod was asking for a cracked skull. "Well, I certainly remember his mouth remaining shut for a long time afterwards..." He added, the tone of his voice was laced with amusement and pleasure at remembering their times together.

Then came the bombshell: Meksis had slept for 5659 years total, according to Maxis. Five millennia had passed the Chaperone by like the spring winds...all because their creators deemed them failures, denouncing their worth and status as people, not weapons, then locking them away for eternities. "That...would explain my long rest...but has really been so long?" The living armour was understandably shocked at this revelation, pacing with his hands behind his back as he did. "I understand them disposing of the actual failures, those that you mentioned that...went feral, or just ceased functioning...but not me and you, Maxis..." Meksis spoke, he was upset by this, but he was not deterred, standing up straight again and in front of his friend.

Afterwards, he chuckled again at Maxis. His friend had remembered much about Meksis, bringing a measure of joy to the spirit within it's metal case. "Queen Shiva, hmm? I would be delighted to see her. Lead the way, my friend." He mused on the identity of the monarch, then followed Maxis up the stairs, listening to the armour defend his status when mentioning the upcoming skeletons. "Trust me, I wouldn't be surprised if it was you. Besides, they would have "asked for it", wouldn't they?" With visible air quotations, Meksis spoke with a light-hearted, yet sardonic tone. The Chaperone became inquisitive again, however. "So, this Shiva...what's she like?" He wanted to conclude his questions for the moment there, but something felt...off.

"And Maxis, when we get there, I need to ask her about something, or one of her more proficient personnel...I, feel like there's something crawling up my back..." Meksis rubbed the back of his neck as he spoke. It truly felt like something was there, but he couldn't quite tell what it was...

- Soren Monroe, Loyalty Wavering - Lord Raiden's Morning Call -

The need for sleep overcame Soren, much like it did for others, sleeping the night away as best he could for it was difficult, the man still not being sure where he stood in the Overworld.

Unfortunately for him, his restlessness would not be aided by his rude awakening. Raiden called everyone for a meeting in the Grand Hall, so he had to attend, looking quite groggy to any sort of onlooker. Soren would feel less bad however, upon sight of the Lord himself, as he was looking far worse for wear than he ever could, seeming like he hadn't found time to clean up, brush his hair or anything, having just made a long trip and needing to make haste.

Lord Raiden spoke, his voice audibly straining, but working to get his words out: The Humans from the World Below were required to leave. Raiden had allegedly negotiated an agreement with Queen Shiva that required them to vacate, but it would in the end benefit both worlds. A tricky arrangement, it must have been, but one that could see the start of a new age of collaboration for both worlds...so it seemed.

Soren felt like he should be happy, his dreams would be coming true...but, it all seemed too good, despite the implied difficulty in acquiring this deal.

He had little time to mull over this just yet, as Raiden then spoke in a more melancholy tone about his next piece of news: One of his guards had been murdered and much treasure had been pilfered from his vaults. What was going on? He did not know, but Soren felt like he had to know...

Little did the former Sentinel know, his face could be read like an open book, his emotions all over the place, which would catch the attention of those who were attentive, or at least paying attention. That wouldn't take much, as Soren was in the front row of the audience.

--Depths of Isopolis, unknown figure--

The sound of dripping water was the only one that the man could hear.  At times he thought he'd heard whispers, those of his dying friends, and screams of his enemies as they were torn asunder, but they were naught in his head.  Many many years had gone by, his isolation never ceasing.  Occasionally he would be visited by a sentinel or a guard within Isopolis' walls.  He especially missed Soren, one who would occasionally spare him a few words, but it had been some time since he'd seen him. Perhaps the queen thought he was becoming too friendly with him.

It were time likes these that he wished he were dead.  It would've surpassed the haunting silence and the painful memories, the years of burns and torture inflicted upon his physical body as well as his soul.  He wished for it to end, the torment that encircled his very existence, but even that was out of his reach.  He could refuse to eat the food brought to him, but the servants would only force it upon him.  No, Queen Shiva very much wished for him to be alive, and to suffer for an eternity.

The man's auburn head jerked up as he heard the sound of footsteps, letting out a sigh.  Apparently he was being dragged off for special treatment.  Just great; he'd felt that the week was a little dull.

A hooded figure approached the cell, grasping the metal bar as he peered inside at the pathetic man.  The redhead merely scoffed, crossing his arms and sitting back on his cot.  "It is rude to stare," he stated flatly.  "The least you could do is state your business, or at the very least your name."

"My name is of no importance," the figure replied.  "What you need to know is that there are those who wish for your freedom."

The redhead eyed him coolly, eyes as black as the night.  For a moment he considered his words, before scoffing and crossing his arms.  "It doesn't matter whether someone wishes for my freedom or not.  The queen does not wish it, and that is all that matters."  He crumbled his hand into a fist and set it harshly on the cot, a layer of dust clouding the air around it.  "Besides, even if I were freed I could never escape.  The guards here would see to it."

But perhaps they'd kill me if I tried to escape, the man thought idly, that might be worth the effort.

"So you're saying that you've given up, that nothing could persuade you from leaving this prison cell?" The hooded figure scoffed.  "That's truly a saddening thing.  You wouldn't even try to get out if I were to tell you that Helios is here?"

At this the imprisoned man's eyes shot open and he was over to the hooded figure in a flash.  "Where did you learn that name?" he demanded harshly.

Instead of responding, his request was ignored and instead the hooded figure continued.  "He is to be put to trial under Queen Shiva today, and unless someone can save him the same fate as you've endured is sure to befall him."

Fury was visible in the redhead's eyes as he shook the bars violently.  Eventually he swallowed hard, trying to remain composed.  "You are lying," he said, though a trace of doubt remained within him.  "There is no way that Helios managed to escape after all of this time.  It's just not possible.  You are probably one of those evil dark sorcerers, trained to read the minds and thoughts of individuals and torment them with them.  Go away.  I don't want to listen to your whispers anymore."  He turned away, relatively certain that the visitor would take the hint, but instead he whipped around in astonishment as the door to his cell was opened with a loud screech.  He glanced from the door to the man.

"You may have given up, but you have much left to live for, Ren Mordecai."  The hooded figure stepped into the cell with the redheaded man, who stood quite befuddled at this point.  The visitor procured a vial and extended it to him.  "Consider this a gift for Lord Raiden, a man who opposes the queen and wishes for peace and unity among all.  If the safety of your friend is truly what you seek, as well as the fall of Her Highness, then you know what to do.  This concoction will remove the nullification of your magic, and then no one can stop you."

Ren eyed the figure sharply, considering him.  Was this all a trap?  Did the vial actually contain poison, and this was someone's cruel way of getting back at him?  There was nothing left for him to lose, however, and thus drinking it seemed to be the most viable option.  As the liquid ran down his throat he could feel the warmth returning to him, the tingling in his fingers and limbs.  For the first time in a very long while he felt alive again.  A soft smile curved the edge of his lips.  "I owe you my thanks."  He tossed the vial in the air and caught it again, his hand clasping around it.  "Lord Raiden, you say?"

"Of Mystras, yes."

"Well, then, I suppose it's time for me to stretch my wings and see what I can do.  I will not let anything happen to Helios."  At this, the redhead threw his head back, and within mere moments a sleek black dragon stood before the hooded figure, taking up nearly the entire prison cell.  He thrashed his spiky tail, destroying half of the wall, making the entrance large enough for his escape.

And Ren was free at last.

--Queen Shiva -- Kilkis Seres--

The ice queen glanced up to see Eclaire standing over her.  She offered her a soft smile from below, noticing Eclaire's silence and seriousness.

"Something on your mind, dear?" she inquired.  "You've been as stiff as a statue ever since I sat down.  Is it the trial?  I do hope you are not upset with me for not extending my hand in mercy just yet.  If my late father taught me anything it is to exercise extensive caution, and perhaps I still take it too literal even these days.  I will be fair, however.  I have yet to meet the boy."

It was then that they were interrupted as footsteps could be heard coming down the marble hall.  Shiva glanced up to find Jynn, dressed in his finest, sword at his waist.  For one long moment Shiva could only watch him, realizing just then how very much Jynn resembled his father.  Perhaps not solely in appearance, as Jynn's looks were very much his own, but in the way that he carried himself.  She smiled as he approached.

"Good morning, Jynn.  I trust that you slept well?"  She gestured to the lesser throne beside her.  "Please, have a seat.  You are not late at all.  I've just sent for Helios to be brought in, and the remains of the royal court are still filtering in.  I still don't know where Maxis is."  The queen frowned at the thought.  It was known that Maxis had left the castle late last night before she'd returned, but his whereabouts were unknown to all.  Even Ivany, who usually knew everything about Maxis.  She wished that he were there to aid her in forming this decision, though it was possible that she would have to do so without him.

(Scrap, I hope it was okay that I assumed Ivany didn't know of Maxis' whereabouts?  Maxis seemed rather quiet about it, but I can change this if need be.)

--Alderon and Curvis -- Lord Raiden's Villa--

Curvis stifled a yawn as he emerged down the stairs and into the central hall, catching sight of Arthur first and offering him a grin.  He met up with his fellow knight and clapped him on the shoulder.  "Good morning, my friend.  Any dreams of dear Princess Visco?" he teased.  While he meant his words in jest, he was only playful on the matter.  He knew how much Visco meant to Arthur, and he fully supported them.  He'd encouraged Arthur's encounters with the princess before and urged him to follow his heart.  Despite their age gap, he considered Arthur a friend, and, apart from Raleigh, the only one he could really relate to upon their journey.

He silenced himself as Lord Raiden seized their attention, beginning to speak.  Curvis caught a glance of King Alderon standing at the front of their group, hands clasped in front of him, his grey eyes fixated on Raiden.

The king had enough manners to stand silent as Raiden spoke, his frown hardening further as he delved deeper into his speech.  Once Raiden was finally through Alderon cleared his throat, as though hoping to gather the attention of all within the room.

"With all due respect, my lord, I feel that assuming one of my fine men here assaulted Mystras is an insult to our kind," King Alderon spoke stiffly.  "While I will admit that it is quite the coincidence that these attacks happened upon our arrival, how do you not know that we aren't being framed by this queen who wishes us gone?  Is it outside of her capabilities?"--Alderon made a hand gesture to those standing behind him--"I carefully hand-picked the men and women that I have brought with me from the world below, and while each are equipped with a good weapon and skills I know that none of them would ever wish harm upon anyone here of this world, unless they themselves were threatened.  I can vouch that none of my good men and women were involved, thus I feel it is most certainly unfair that you would make the accusation that I must somehow be responsible.

"I also do not feel that we should so readily be evicted from this world.  After all, much time and resources has been delegated to The Phoenix Project and the cooperation of the two worlds.  In fact, we have barely spoken about the unity of our worlds.  I would implore you to reconsider, my lord, and to not be so hasty in casting us away.  Please consider yourself in my position; surely you would feel similarly."

--Elia Cabret -- Mystras Mountain Range--

The evolution was certainly a shock to Elia, though she was relieved that the cyph was unharmed.  After the surprising event, Jari caught up Elia's attention once more, explaining his plight.  At this Elia nodded, considering the rest of the group carefully.  "I think it is time that we headed back to Kilkis Seres," she spoke finally.  "There's much for us to sort out, and we can hardly do it here."

The raven-haired fairy turned toward Mikhail and Typhon.  "I understand that the two of you are companions, and you probably have places to be.  If you'd like to join us I'm sure that you would be welcomed in the kingdom, but if you have other places to go, well, I understand that, too.  Nonetheless"--she offered the two a slight curtsy--"I'm glad that we got to meet you, and I'm very glad that you're now safe from that . . . crazy . . . thing."

- Aeternum Siblings - Living Quarters of Kilkes Seres Castle - Helios, Gel, Henry -

It was early in the morning and most of the people in the room were sleeping, every one except Aura, no, she was once again resting in the balcony looking around the city. She had been awake after sleeping for a couple of hours, her body sometimes didn't agree with her sleeping schedule, but she grew up doing that. She turned to look at the members of her small group, each one sleeping soundly, altough Helios looked rather distraught even while sleeping. This was going to be an important day, for Helios and everyone there.
"They have a better chance to be allowed to stay," she thought as she looked at Henry and Gel, "Unlike us, just for being humans."
Yes, apparently they weren't welcomed, perhaps, if fate permitted, she could learn about this new world, that was something she loved, learning stuff, her brother too, but to a lesser extent. Aura didn't believe in the gods, but she did offered a prayer. It was then that someone knocked the door and Helios woke up along with Aurion.
"Wha..." he said quietly, "What time is it?"
"Early," Aura answered, "It's time to meet the Queen, Aurion. You should get ready."
Aurion slowly got out of the bed and made himself look presentable, it was an important meeting after all.
"Helios, we came here to help you," Aura said calmly, "And we are not going to leave you alone, not when you need all the support you can get. Me and my brother will stand by your side, no matter the outcome."
"You can count on us, kid" Aurion said with a smile, "We got your back. Now, let's do this."
Both siblings nodded at each other and follwed Helio and the knights.

-Eclaire: Kilkis Seres, Trial of Helios-

"No, my Queen." She started off with softly. "I am...I've never had such a high station during these type of things...u....usually, I am begging for mercy. I am standing before a judge for my crimes, begging to be forgiven for failing to fight a hunger I had to fill. Helios and his friends may have not directly killed nor have ever planned things to go this badly...

But when you have let someone who has left dead behind due to her mistakes, reckless mistakes that ruined families, and make them your retainer...then put on trial someone who sated a curiosity that...everyone would have, in actuality...to me, that feels wrong. But...I trust you, Shiva...you saw fit to give me a second chance, at only a glance. I have faith...I believe...you will rule mercifully, no matter what choice is made. Your gaze is icy...but your voice is soft. Your hands slightly cold...but no word spoken in truth has ever bitten like the first fangs of winter." She paused. "Sorry...rambling and...my mother's could be poetic at times. In...any case." She shifted.

"I'm more nervous at being so...important I guess? I've never been seen as anything other than a terrible mistake. Being told I have worth...I guess I just...don't want to let you down..."

She looked away, despite enjoying the soft smile that made her nervousness fade, and her heart beat a bit stronger.

-Sisters Izanami: Approaching Kilkis Seres-

"There is is Takao."

"Finally! I want food."

Xion shook her head. Takao was a ridiculous girl sometimes, especially for a succubus. Angling down with her and alighting, she ruffled the priestess' hair and strode for the gates. In hindsight she should have packed more...stately clothes, but even the most elegant dresses of a succubus were about as modest as a hooker. For beings who fed on lifeforce through intomacy...well, nothing was very modest. She strode up anyways, and crossed her arms.

"We wish to enter the city."

"State your business."

"Streetwalking." She replied with a sarcastic flair. "Sightseeing. Haven't been here before."

They didn't look amused. "Affiliation?"

"Some lesbian goddess whose a pain in the ass."

Taka giggled. The guards rolled their eyes. "Another god. Can't we all just believe in the theology of Kilkis Seres?"

"No, that would be a theocracy and forced conformity, and since I'm dressed like this, I clearly don't care if your god has ten wives and a husband."

He looked taken back. The other guard sighed. "Don't cause trouble. We will be watching."

Xion could only laugh. "They all ask that. But no one controls discord."

Jynn Venas - Kilkes Seres Court room with Eclaire and Shiva

Jynn was asked about his rest. He nods. "Yea. I see that you did as well." Upon his mother's request, he takes a seat next to her. He looks around the room. Everyone was taking their spots. Deep down, he wonders what will happen. What will his mother do to Helios? The poor kid has undergone years of pain, to which he may endure even more of. He faces down. He also is worried about Helios' new friends. I hope his friends will not show up today........... If mother finds out, I have to deal with another one of her rants........ I also don't want them to have come all this way saving a fey, only to suffer for doing so.......

Bherna Lao - Exploring Kilkes Seres with Mel

The city started to come to life, and Bherna was interested in looking around. She turns to Melstrome, who finished his breakfast. "I'm going to check around the city!" She then runs to the city square and looks around. Mel quickly follows behind her. The citizens were bustling about. The blacksmith fired up his fire pit, the farmers started tilling their crops, and the monster hunters are bringing in a large wyvern they slayed overnight.

She then walks up to a lady sewing some dresses. "Hello! What kind of garments do you have?" The lady giggles. "Oh, I have plenty!" She pulls out some dresses with different designs. There was one made out of wool, one made of a fine fabric, and even one made out of scales. Bherna gasps. "Wow, they're all really pretty!" After a few more moments, she and the lady parted ways.

As Bherna reaches near the entrance of the city, she notices two girls entering, both of which were wearing unusual clothing. It was making Bherna uncomfortable, as well as Melstrome. Who were these two? Where did they come from? Why do they dress weirdly? Despite all the questions she had, Mel nudges her to turn back, to which she willingly does.

-Izanami Sisters: Entrance to Kilkis Seres-

The more weirdly dressed Xion slid to the side and stuck to the shade. Takao, more modestly dressed it her Priestess outfit, slipped happily over to Bherna and Melstrome.

"Hi! My name is Takao Izanami! I'm looking for fora place to buy a black cloak for....uh, five gold! Know a place? We just arrived and I figure my elder sister's garb will only cause problems." She said cheerfully. "Happen to know where I c- " she cut herself off, eyes dilating a bit. She only stayed like this a moment, then shook he head. "Sorry. When you're the only priestess of a goddess, you tend to get directly called." She laughed softly, then bowed. "Sorry about that!"

The girl was utterly cheerful. As if nothing could stop her smile or happiness

- Rabiyu - Front Gates of Mystras - Vs Doom Hound -

It was no surprise to see Alastor land a hit on the creature, his speed was impressive, something Rabiyu had to respect. The other one used a boomerang with some sort of concoction followed by an attack with his axe. Rabiyu watched as flames engulfed the creature, but it was obvious that it was not an attack from neither of the fey. The Elf closed her eyes and focused her senses, she had to track and follow the source of the arcane energy, perhaps, with some luck, she would be able to anticipate the creature. It used fire as a medium and probably to attack as well, she had to change tactics for this, and watching Alastor she quickly came with a solution. Water and lightning.
"Ekrah do faal Okaaz Zu'u faan fah hin hiif," she said as four orbs of water formed in front of her, "Bodiir zey hin suleyk wah jaaril ahrk qahnaar dii paal!"
The orbs remained in place for a couple of seconds before two of them made a sudden movement towards Alastor, the guard and the other fey, and once they stopped behind the feys they combined and created a shield of water, at that moment the creature reappeared and attacked with its fire breath.
"Hein zimaon tal ilan," Rabiyu whispered while the glyphs on the arrow changed from red to yellow and a faint crackling sound could be heard by her, "Spirits of lightning lend me thy aid."
The High Elf quickly came out from behind the pillar and jumped towards her new fightmates while aiming at the Doom Hound, if the arrow touched the shield her companions would get hurt, well, maybe not Alastor as he used lightning too, but she was not going to risk it. The arrow was now flying towards the shield and between the others, but before it made contact a small black orb of mist formed and the arrow disappeared inside it, only to for the orb to reappear on the other side of the water wall and the arrow once again was flying towards the Doom Hound, it would need to notice an arrow flying among the fire to be able to dodge it, if not then it would receive an arrow to the chest along with a lightning spell and some of its own fire. Meanhwile the two remaining orbs quickly moved behind the Hound where they transformed into serpents made of water before they lunged towards it.
If the citizens of Mystras were sleeping soundly then they would suddenly wake up to the sound of a fighting taking place at the front gates, a fight between a group of feys and a seemingly extinct creature. This was not a situation Rabiyu thought she was going to get into when she chose to help the Queen of Ice, but fate worked in mysterious ways.
