Ok so the more that I think about this, the more I believe this is exactly what is going on.  His inclusion on this card is such an awkward choice that there has to be a deeper explanation, and I think you may have hit the nail on the head with this one.  There is a clear reason why Nomura decided to put him on here, rather than adding someone else or nobody at all.

 

This theory needs to get out there.  It feels more valid than the Rebirth Theory ever did for me.  Im all in on this one, I hope it is right

This KH theory is very intriguing. It gives a greater depth to Ventus' character rather then just being the happier version of Roxas. It does debunk the reincarnation theory that's been going around the fandom for a few years but has such most have probably already mentioned that.

 

Why not take this theory even further. What if Ventus is the player character of Unchained X? We never notice because of the mechanics of the game. Being able to customize the player to his or her hearts content. I know it seems a bit far fetched but anything could happen in the kingdom hearts universe and it would be pretty mind blowing has well.

Back Cover is the pov' of the Foretellers soo... if the Player is actually Ventus, "Player VS Lady Ava" in KHX become "Ventus VS Lady Ava" in Back Cover.

... Even if my friend think Ava don't see anything and the Player can easily deceive her.

But maybe it was a sort of illusion, if you know what I mean... Maybe Ventus wear a sort of magic disguise ? or it's a illusion like in the battle "Player(maybe Ventus) VS Your Union Master(Ava)"

 

"Ventus is the happier version of Roxas" OR Roxas is the bad version of Ventus! Roxas is "born" AFTER Ventus!

And I don't believe to the "reincarnation theory"!

 

When you said "Being able to customize the player to his or her hearts content.", maybe Ventus see himself like that, but in fact, he can't change who he really is! It's psychological... don't worry about him!

 

But I hope "Player" is a real person... even if a random person can't be in the story of KH3. Remember, KH3 and KHX(UX) have a link!

(Theory) Okay, The Foretellers, Ephemera & Skuld can be in KH3 during a cutscene or something else... but someone who don't have a "personality" (because your player IS you and YOU can be a bad guy or a good guy) can't be in the game, and nobody have the same face(because you choose your face!)! ... except for the two guys in the end of the trailer when Ava speak to the Dandelions !

I'm just stating a theory that is unlikely but it's possible that Ventus might have changed his name from Vanitus, a bit like how Xehanort changed his name to Ansem.

 

And I said this as the person who created that thread said Vanitus was a potential name for the Master of Masters, which links to the joke post I made earlier in this thread that Ventus was the Master of Masters.

This theory is super interesting!!! Ven may indeed have a connection to the Keyblade War, but maybe not as a Dandelion. Remember the reincarnation theory? Ventus is Master Gula. This may be why Badlands are depicted in the Dive to the Heart.

No, I did read them.I'm just a fan of the reincarnation theory, that's why i refer to it whenever it seems logical. But, I really like your theory, too. It is indeed very interesting and has a pretty good chance of being true. Congrats for coming up with it!!

I don't buy into this, it sounds far fetched tbh .

 

Mate, this theory is far more tame and plausible than the Reincarnation theory is.

I really hope this is true, and I wanna see Ven holding a backward Starlight Keyblade.  This would make a lot of sense since we know absolutely nothing about Vens past Pre-Xehanort, and this would finally be a retcon-free twist!

 

I like it and I wanna see it happen.  Think about the story possibilities for KH3, Ven as a 7 and possibly someone like Luxu as a 13.  Would be incredible.

I'm genuinely glad that you're affirmative of this theory. There's too many things that just seem to click together to ignore. It'd also add to the irony that Terra and Aqua have about Ventus being the "kid", when in reality, he's older thna the both of them and has experienced more battles his lifetime than both of them.

That'd be one of the greatest plot-twists of all time in the Kingdom Hearts series. But the only factor that prevents this from being true is that, in the regular realm, the player character refuses to go into the Unchained world. Unless they survive beyond the Keyblade War, how is the X player character going to continue on as Ventus?

Cheers man, I feel as though Ventus' past is the foundation that keeps this theory strong. Xehanort chose him for a reason beyond a vessel. Sure, it may have not been logged in Xehanort's BBS diary, but Nomura didn't really think of the X universe during 2010 so it's still possible for Ventus to be from Daybreak Town.

Indeed, it's entirely plausible!  And heck, one of the side effects of being brought back into the world as a Dandelion could be memory loss, hence why Ventus has no prior memories of his past, other than his training with Xehanort!  Yes...this is a story twist I want to see in Kingdom Hearts III, badly! Now, as a side note, I would like to state that Ventus may not necessarily time travel. There are two other possibilities that I can think of:

 

1. Realm of Darkness: Time flows much more slowly in the Realm of Darkness. With all those years, Ventus may have aged slightly.

2. Realm of Sleep: There are many Chirithy's in Chi and we know that they're Dream Eaters. There must be some connection and explanation on how they end up in a separate realm unaffected by time.

 

I can honestly see both of those factors into play when comes to linking Ventus from the past to the present.

 

I personally feel as though it may be both those factors. Ventus could have been in the Unchained Realm (realm of sleep) and eventually ended up in the Realm of Darkness only to come out in a different time period. The outcome of being in the real world from the dream world through the realm of darkness may have damaged his memory hence his frequent migraines.

And this is just something I'm really looking forward to see expanded upon in Kingdom Hearts III! With this, I can understand why Nomura said that X's story is important and melds with Kingdom Hearts III!  There's probably gonna be all other manner of things from X that pass over to III, such as the Foretellers, the Dandelions and all that! It's going to be awesome!
