Every Hint Towards a 2017 Release.

I'll keep this thread saved somewhere and I'll update it as time goes along. I think that 2018 is more likely but as time moves on we are seeing more subtle nods towards a 2017 release date.

 

July 20th 2016, every hint so far:

 

A Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora Play Arts Kai is revealed, the release of that is January 2017. Hint Level-Very subtle.

 

A Kingdom Hearts Orchestra is happening next year, the very first one.

 

The 15th Anniversary of the franchise is next year in March.

 

Nomura has said in Famitsu that he wants to jazz things up next year for Kingdom Hearts fans.

2.8 is confirmed to be the final game before Kingdom Hearts 3, in addition Square Enix have given us 1 Kingdom Hearts game a year since KH3 was revealed in 2013.

People are being hired for post production elements, therefore the game may be in the last few legs of it's development cycle.

Technically we did not get a game in 2015, as KHuX was Japan only until april 2016. Otherwise, great points! I've thought for several years that it would be a 2017 game, I'm betting on a fall worldwide release similar to that of FFXV this year.

We got UX in NA and Europe, so you could argue that we got last year's game this year and this year's game (2.8) this year.

And for people who come with the defense "Oh but what about 1.5 and 2.5 for PS4!", Square Enix is only considering that. And even if they were to hypothetically go through with it, X, 2.8, Kingdom Hearts III is already enough of a burnout for Square Enix. Kingdom Hearts III will eventually have to be released to please shareholders.

Won't count on it before KH3 bro. They said once they will think about it but they are busy with KH3.

Oooooh, here's another one: everyone remember Disney Infinity and the announcements of how KH was involved within that series? Well, if you are a Disney Infinity fan, and you've been catching up with the latest news for it (at least before it got cancelled), after the release of DI3.0 in September last year, there was an interview with one of the people who worked on Disney Infinity and it claimed they were going to save the next installment for Disney Infinity for 'next year', 2017, which was odd since they used to release a new installment every year from 2013-2015.

Why wait so long? Anyway, if you didn't know, Disney Infinity tends to use a a theme based on the previous game's ultimate unlock (the ultimate item in which you get for purchasing all available figures for that game) for it's next installment. Star Wars items were ultimate unlocks was for 1.0 and 2.0, which ended up being the main theme of 3.0. In 3.0, the ultimate unlock was Sora's keyblade. Would this have meant the theme for 4.0 were to themed around the Kingdom Hearts series? Back to what I said earlier, DI crew member said specifically, 'There will be no new Disney Infinity game for this year'. Which meant 2017 was going to be the release for it... which strangely might be the same year KH3 comes out... Kingdom Hearts 3 would have a great impact for DI, showing off the new KH3 models of Sora, Riku and Kairi in figure form, with other characters to be added from the series.

 

 

Exactly what I was thinking. 2017 is so far a more likely date for Kingdom Hearts 3, with all of these hints given to us. Now what we should be doing is getting ready for an Uncovered event for Kingdom Hearts 3 in December, possibly within the week of the release for Kingdom Hearts 2.8 FCP. Even if it's months away, this event could be huge. I can see a 10 minute trailer being showed at the very end like we got with DDD in TGS with a release date window announcement.

Yup, let's hope all of this ends up being true even if not, at least most of it lol. I'd probably die from excitement, considering how excited I got during the Uncovered event for FF15, and I'm honestly more of a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, no offense

Well, that is a good guess, and it does fall within the exact month the first Kingdom Hearts released on in Japan!  But I'm thinking the game will be a worldwide release, like 2.8, so if it would release in March for Japan, it would also release for the rest of the world, ya know?

I'm one of the many people hoping KH3 drops next year. Definitely tons of hints relating to it and we have the classic "one KH a year" statement that backs it up. Regardless, SE knows how to hype us up! Looking forward to the news coming in December.

If it comes out next year there's no way it'll be out March, it won't be done by then. December 2k17 is more likely.

I feel like it will come on September 29, 2017. A year after FFXV. Maybe a December release if they need more time but I feel like they will be able to go full force during October of this year which would give them a good 11 months.
