HeyMouseSayCheese 1,133 Posted July 19, 2016 Anyone here excited for this? The trailer doesn't really make the game seem much different than the usual Batman fare, though it does seem a lot less grimdark than the Arkham games, which is refreshing. Plus the fact that it's going to be at least somewhat about Harvey Dent and (presumably) him becoming Two-Face makes me giddy. Telltale pretty much always has great writing in their games and if they can channel some Long Halloween into this, I'll be more than a little happy. 3 Firaga, Moochieh32 and TheWayToDawn reacted to this
Firaga 5,947 Posted July 19, 2016 Not a Telltale fan, but I do plan on playing their Back To The Future game. After I actually finish watching BTTF... This game, however, still looks appealing. Though, It might be a weird transition for myself and other people since it'll be such a different experience. It's essentially more of a visual novel than an actual game in some regards. 1 Xiro reacted to this
Xiro 3,468 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Story and VAs and stuff look/sound pretty good. Although I agree with Firaga about it probably being a weird experience. I'm also not too big of a fan of episodic releases... well, at least if it takes too long to release 'em (*cough*HigurashiHou*cough*) or if the price really adds up. They're not that bad; there's still a lot of adventure game style point-and-click puzzle solving in the games, there's just also a huge focus on characters and storytelling. It's not for everybody, and Telltale tends to exaggerate the whole "Your choices matter!" thing, but I've never played a Telltale game that wasn't an enjoyable story experience. The Batman one is going to be $25 for all five episodes on Steam (and I assume for every other platform too). I'm pretty sure that's the standard starting price for a full season of any Telltale game, not counting sales and such. 1 Xiro reacted to this

HeyMouseSayCheese 1,133 Posted July 19, 2016 I'm not saying it's going to bad, just different. I meant "bad" as in "not nearly as lacking in gameplay as visual novels". Telltale games have a reputation for being interactive movies, and in some ways that's true, but there's also a lot of gameplay. Just trying to makes things clear is all. That's what I meant by different. There's never been a Batman game like this before. Even the Arkham games don't get bogged down in cutscenes that much and it's mostly focused on there being constant action.
TheWayToDawn 775 Posted July 20, 2016 I'm psyched for this! When I saw it on my game informer magazine, I went ballistic
Awesome Sauce 634 Posted July 20, 2016 Good lord, the comment section is filled with hipsters hating on Telltale for no reason.
HeyMouseSayCheese 1,133 Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) Good lord, the comment section is filled with hipsters hating on Telltale for no reason. Really? Because all I've seen are a couple people who don't usually play Telltale games saying that it might be weird for them. No one's hating on anything here. Or did you mean for the Youtube video? Because yes, that's what Youtube is. Edited July 20, 2016 by HeyMouseSayCheese

There were at least 2 guys who hated on Telltale and the Batman game, saying it "isn't a real game" and "A Batman game should have more action!". Then there were other comments complaining about graphics (LOL) and a couple more that already claim this will be a bad game when it isn't even out. There were bad bits in the comments.
