Kupo 31 Posted July 16, 2016 It's too good of an idea. It would be great for a perfect world, but this isn't that, people have already started manipulating the game to attack people and people aren't paying attention things, heck they weren't as is. So maybe this would have been a good card to pull by Nintendo a long time ago before things got really bad but not right now. I agree. Too many dangerous things are happening and people are really getting hurt. Some, though, it may be their faults, but there are just too many problems altogether. Dude you don't really have to walk to where the Pokemon exactly is. You can literally just touch the Pokemon on your screen when it's at a close enough parameter while you're setting inside a car or anywhere safe People are being dumb just because they're too lazy to check safety warnings that the game LITERALLY TELLS YOU WHEN YOU BOOT IT UP EVERYTIME You don;t have to jump off a cliff to get a pidgey........you can safely get it from the safe zone you're in and if you don't get it now it will pop up in a safer place later

Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted July 17, 2016 Except Ingris, doesn't have the popular name that Pokemon has and has established over I-don't-know-how-many years. I don't know why you think I'm blaming the game. "what idiots do with it is not of concern of the devs cuz they never intended for it to have a malicious use and no matter how many times you try to fix or patch such things out of the game it will keep on happening cuz that's the nature of humans" Still at some point you have to think, whether the game was not intended to cause harm or not, whether it's a game or a freakin bird, was this the best idea to release right now or is making something for idiots to be even stupider with a good thing? This is good, go with friends or groups. Well aren't you a happy puppy. While I do agree that bad things will happen, you can't deny that things have escalated over the years, I mean this is a time were people are getting into strangers cars and are driving off into the sunset to maybe your destination or maybe someplace else that no one would want to go too and cops are now painted as bad guys. ..........okay, let me make this clearer. All the stuff you're talking about. It's been happening for years. Yes, even the cops being vilified thing. Surprise surprise, lots of people aren't too fond of the people who tell them that they can't do certain things. Look we're not being pessimistic here, the fact is terrible things like this have been happening for thousands of years. While these recent events are terrible, they're nothing new. It literally would not have mattered what year it is, there would have been someone out there that would have done terrible things with this stuff. 1 Dio Brando reacted to this
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted July 17, 2016 (edited) I'm pretty sure if you're not paying attention while playing go, you were never paying attention in the first place, which just points to the fact that you're just stupid. That's the way people like that work and then because they're too embarrassed to admit that they were stupud, Pokemon go gets the flak. Remember the asshat who blamed Pokemon go for his accident on the highway? Well yeah, that's stupid in many ways, but most of the simple point here, is that Pokemon aren't on highways so that people can avoid such accidents, plus you just look stupid saying you were playing a game on your phone in the middle of a damn highway. Like you shouldn't even use a phone while driving at all. Anyeay, the point stands, people are stupid, Pokemon go just helps provide us with the revelation that some are dumber than we first thought. EDIT: The guy getting stabbed wasn't even the story though. The story was that the guy just continued to play Pokemon go and went to the hospital the next day. Pokemon go is involved but not the reason why this guy was stabbed. Besides, he's dumb and crazy, deciding that a wound was insignificant enough for him to go a day without getting the stitches he needed. Kingdomhe 1,362 Posted July 17, 2016 No, I HAVE read the previous comments, and all the events you're describing are nothing new. Granted, we hear about more things happening more rapidly lately, but the events themselves aren't a sudden revelation or anything. People in general have always been kind of stupid, I don't think it would really matter what era Go was released in, people would have managed or mismanaged it the same way they do these days. The real answer here is to make people smarter, not wish this thing was never released or try to take it away or limit it. Please pay attention to what I say before you instruct me what to do. "You know what, I don't know why I'm starting to care about this stuff. I'm going to sit back (like I was before) and watch the world burn and hope that whatever man does with Pokemon Go is entertaining." "I'm not blaming Nintendo and it's too late to do anything about it (although Nintendo might be sued soon if things keep escalating and then they might cancel it). I just don't think it would have been the best idea with what's going on with the world right now." I'm not saying that it shouldn't have existed or to take it away or limit it. I'm not saying that this stuff isn't terrible and that it shouldn't be addressed in any way whatsoever. But I also don't see it as an excuse for something fun like this to have never existed. As much of a potential hazard this is, it's also a potential benefit. My younger brother never had any reason for being active ever, he's been a homebody most of his life. Now he's actually getting out and walking around with no fuss and he's actually discovering more about the town we've lived in for 15+ years. Granted our town is a relatively harmless one, but he's still aware enough to pay attention to his surroundings and he's been walking around every day. Just going out the door to go for a walk is a potential risk in it's own right, with or without Pokemon Go, people are always going to find ways to be stupid and neglectful or malevolent and predatory. Whether it's what you're saying or not, adding or removing Pokemon Go isn't going to change that, and it having never been around wasn't going to change that either. If Pokemon Go didn't get made, something else would have been made that would have had similar effects. People have a right to enjoy their time outdoors however they please, though some steps could be taken to prevent at least targeting from happening so much. I'd rather steps be taken to keep people from manipulating this thing for their foul reasons and hurting others, not to limit where people can go, what they can do within the natural barriers of the game, or anything that would sour the experience. There should be ways to make the game safer without ruining it for everyone. Edited July 17, 2016 by Mystics Apprentice
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted July 17, 2016 Guys, let's keep this discussion friendly and productive. We all need to respect each other's opinions and understand that our viewpoint isn't the only one that's right. While it's okay to voice your concerns about Pokemon Go, let's not take this to a personal level and get upset or offend other people. Thank you! Kingdomhe 1,362 Posted July 18, 2016 The point is he could have asked anything and the result would have been the same. It's a 50/50 chance that he would have asked something or not without it, but the same could be said with it. So idk.
