Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted July 14, 2016 (edited) Hey guys, I'm really sorry to say this, but there has been another attack in France. It's just utterly sad, seeing news like this every day. It's becoming a common occourance. Just a few hours ago, as citizens in France began to celebrate Bastille Day in Nice, France, a truck plowed through the crowd watching the firework display. It's hard to say how much have been killed, but instantly the death toll hit thirty. I've seen so much to say that the death toll is already at eighty with hundreds and hundreds of people still injured. EDIT: As of right now, MSNBC says the death toll is at 70 officially. News say that the driver exited the car and shot at police, so it's most likely this was in fact an attack. There is talk about this being an Islamic terrorist attack, so only time will tell as this story unfolds. If you are near Nice or know anyone in Nice, please contact your loved ones to ensure that you're safe and their safety. It's utterly heartbreaking to hear this happen. Just last week I was celebrating the Fourth of July. To think that someone could do such a vile thing during a time of celebration is utterly unimaginable. My heart is with France. Dio Brando 5,810 Posted July 14, 2016 I don't wanna sound like an asshole cuz this is horrible and I feel sad for what happened But I find it hypocritical of people that their outpouring love and support is so selective depending on who suffers a tragedy Like...............thousands of people in places like Syria,Palestine and other places in the world get murdered on a daily basis yet we hear no such support........just for the big ones like France, the US.....etc A tragedy is a tragedy no matter where it takes places and just putting the flag of a country on your profile pic or signature isn't enough if anything it shows how selective humans are 9 TheEightMelodies, Exiblade7, Yuya Sakaki and 6 others reacted to this

I think it's because France is closer to home than Baghdad, but that's not much of an excuse. It's difficult to cover all the atrocities that go on in the world. 2 Yuya Sakaki and Dio Brando reacted to this

My ancestors escaped Syria when it was getting bad and I don't have any family in Syria anymore because they were all murdered by bombings. But yeah, I agree, it matters wherever these tragedies occur and not one place under a terrorist attack is more important than another one under an attack; everyone under these terrorist fires are important and equal. My heart really goes out to all these people suffering from these attacks and to all the people who have lost their lives and their families. This cruelty and monsters who do this need to stop. I agree, it is difficult to cover all of these horrendous acts taking place lately...There's too many now and it's getting hard to even go out into my city because I'm losing trust in my safety and my loved ones' safety; and I'm sure others feel the same throughout the world. 2 Dio Brando and Moochieh32 reacted to this
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted July 15, 2016 I hate hearing about stuff like this, regardless of where it happens or how many people die. A single murder is about as tragic as many, and it's impossible to compare acts of terror and which is more atrocious, no matter what country it happens in. Sure, I think the media sometime chooses what we hear more of, but it doesn't make such events any less tragic no matter who gets hurt or where it's at. My thoughts and prayers extend to those families who have been affected by this tragedy. I wish the world wasn't so sick. 5 WakelessDream, Cricket, EchoFox23* and 2 others reacted to this

RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted July 15, 2016 Oh no! Not again.... My condolences to the ones that lost their family and friends. This is just messed up... Just like I think about 1 to 2 weeks ago, shooting in Dallas,TX. And before that, some police guy killed a man, for no freaking reason. Guy was getting his licence out of his back pocket, and he told police guy that he was getting his licence out of his pocket. This madness has to stop... Too many people in some parts of the world are getting killed...
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted July 15, 2016 My Mom told me about this about an hour ago! It's seriously messed up! I've said it before, and I'll say it again...humanity will bring forth its own self destruction! Sadly, we humans are despicable! Not every single one of us, but a lot are, which makes news like this sad, since people who were celebrating died at the hands of stupid terrorists! It's messed up stuff! My condolences go to the families of the people who lost their lives in this attack! God protect them!

BlankShell 638 Posted July 15, 2016 The details of this story just have me so utterly bewildered; usually it's "why", but I'm still struggling to grasp the "how" on this one. Regardless, this is horrific and depressing, and unfortunately becoming far too commonplace. We can't let these kinds of tragedies keep happening. I'm not going to pretend to know the best way to stop it, but I know we need love to defeat hate, more than anything else.
