VisitJoan 2,713 Posted July 13, 2016 http://www.gamespot.com/articles/pokemon-go-player-catches-pidgey-as-wife-gives-bir/1100-6441624/The man, whose real name is Jonathan Theriot , told BuzzFeed that he just couldn't wait to catch the Pidgey."As soon as it popped up, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, there's a Pidgey sitting on your bed!'" he said to his wife, Jessica. "So, I screenshotted it, then caught it and showed it to her."Some people spoke out against Theriot for playing a game while his wife was in labor, but he said, "She wasn't mad at all.""She just kind of laughed at it," Theriot explained. "It was primarily an eyeroll once she realized what I was doing."The baby, Ireland Sage Theriot, was born on Thursday, July 7The thing that gets me is, all of that... for a Pidgey? But like my cousin said, "I don't care if you're catching a mewtwo and an entai [or however it is you spell it] at the same time. You're about to be a father - put the phone down!" 6 Exiblade7, Nora Valkyrie, Movies798 and 3 others reacted to this

Veemon 1,540 Posted July 13, 2016 That's funny, and also lame at the same time. Pidgey is one of the most common Pokemon, why waste time for that one in particular? Especially when your wife is having a baby, that's a seriously dumb excuse to not tend to her genuinely. What's next? Is there going to be some other couple who will get caught up in Pokemon GO during a wedding? Rock on! 1 Joker reacted to this

Revolart 431 Posted July 13, 2016 You know I don't get these people. I mean there is a place and a time to play and obviously this is not one of them.

Awesome Sauce 634 Posted July 13, 2016 A grimer on a toilet . This is a combination of funny, convenient, logical, stupid, outrageous and sad at the same time. 1 KH4Real reacted to this
KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted July 13, 2016 I swear if someone found a pokemon at the bottom of a cliff, they would run off of it and try to catch it. Their chances of doing so are probably slim.

Yup but if you are in the middle of nowhere the app won't detect anything.

Shulk 8,623 Posted July 15, 2016 If it was something like Charizard or Chansey, it would be absolutely understandable. Just a Pidgey, though? Geez, people these days...
Penny 128 Posted July 16, 2016 Labor can last a long long time for some women, if they were rushed to the hospital it could be less than an hour but if it was just the beginning of labor it could be 12-13 hours or more. He could have just been taking a breather because they could have already been there for a few hours. She said she was fine with it so i doubt the baby actually came quickly after that. They don't say anything else so we don't know if she was in labor for a while and something happened, or if it was a scheduled c-section to begin with. Either way, it's not like she was pushing the baby out when he caught the Pidgey.

I mean, you just said yourself we don't actually know a single thing about this and you guys all judge as if this was the worst father of the year. He was sitting right next to her with the phone in his hand from the picture, just trying to make time pass in a way or another. What's the big deal if he did so playing Pokemon or playing Tetris? You guys act as if Pokemon Go is the end of the world when all of us are on a KH forum, making theories about a videogame and replaying the same videogame over and over, without going out, unlike them.
