Awesome Sauce 634 Posted July 4, 2016 Whenever someone says that any piece of entertainment (that isn't marketed toward kids, made specifically for them or is an educational show) is for little kids only makes me want to suck the ignorance out of them and show examples that are clearly the opposite. I don't hate or despise anime, but it just doesn't grab and keep my attention like it does with some people. What is called "fanservice", or the oversexulization of female or even male characters. This is a reason I don't watch so much "mainstream" anime because it is full of it!! Whether it is boob jokes or what, it's disgusting and just degrades both female and male genders...but mainly female genders. Gore, Violence, Blood, etc. Now I watch Kuroshitsuji, and I have to admit, there are very very dark themes and there is a reason I will not let my 11 year old sister watch it. There are moments sometimes just in the manga in which I say "oh my god don't let my little sisters see this" because its horrible! Sebastian rips the heart right out of a man's body...AND IT WAS ANIMATED...censored, but still disgusting. You really gotta watch out for blood, gore, and violence because you don't know when a happy little day in anime will end in a bloody fist fight....or when a trip on a ship ends up in a zombie massacre or something like that! Language- now I know it's something not usually that bad in anime, but there have been anime I have watched with my little sister in the room and it says something and I say "I hope they didn't read that". One character said something while I was watching anime, my dad kind of peeking over it over my shoulder, and it said something, and my dad was like "what the hell did that just say" because it was so bad. There may be some for kids, but I have seen a good number of very adult-themed anime that I would not want my child watching. Neko really nailed it well in her descriptions. I myself watch mainly 'kid' anime, but that's no ones firetrucking buisness. Let me do me. I pay my taxes, I go to work, therefore no one has the right to talk shit what I want to do with myself. (Even if you don't pay taxes or whatever or work, no one shouldn't talk shit) The thing is, a lot of people have just dull lives, where all they want to watch is the news and stupid bullshit like that. All they see is black and white, getting up in the morning, going to a job that they hate and doing the same thing over and over again day in and day out. They just think that to be an 'adult' you have to be miserable and do 'gown up' things like sit in an office all firetrucking day. What pisses me off even more is when people talk shit when all they do is watch even worse shit like these stupid reality shows. Honestly they're the ones that really need to get a life.! And I'm not saying they can't hate anime. Don't get me wrong, there is a LOT of anime I can't stand. Even bringing it up just makes me like gag. But if someone else watches it that's none of my firetrucking buisness. Sure if my best friend loves it I'll be like "omg why do you like it" but I'm not gonna talk shit just because my best friend likes it. And I'm not gonna shit on what my best friend likes either. I just say 'it's not my cup of tea' and move on. Ugh, I'm like rambling on now.
