Greetings and salutations, Unversed!  I've been stuck for a little bit with three or four characters, namely Raleigh, Raiden, The Infiltrator, and Jari, but I most probably can do some fun stuff with Rufus.

 

As for the two new characters, I'm surprisingly thinking about the Cabbage Merchant from Avatar:  The Last Airbender and Typhon from Final Fantasy 6.  Good characters from good media, and hilariously portrayed, but I look forward to seeing these more serious characters.

...I was going to reveal Rhaedyn keeps accidently destroying a poor cabbage cart in battles, hence his title Bane of Cabbages...

Sit down while I tell y'all a story. About Cyphs and the "Demon Cyph" mutation, also about the cult of the Beholder and the forgotten tales of yore. I got the Loremaster here to help me with this.

The Cyphs.

 

 

 

This story dates back, not that much, but a few thousand years ago, aproximadetly, the Cyph species lived as a whole, Six thousand years before their destruction at the hands of the united power of the kingdoms of the overworld, which was kalled "The Cyph hunts". Where an entire civilization of neutral beings fell. To the fearful Kingdom.

 

But for now...i'l tell you how the Cyphs began. They are the unique case of a virus bacteria getting a bit too bonded with an insect, and said insect collecting DNA from many other animals/Feys and the like. This caused all of the DNA material (their blood) to be poured onto the Bacteria...it began growing, soon, it consumed the insect completely, taking the form of a small cell, and said cell began nurturing itself...and expanding, in the confines of the now dubbed "Cyphol Tomb," Where the Cyph civilization began as a whole, and also where it ended...However, this came at a severe disadvantage for the Cyphs, as the evolution to Bipedal, came at a cost of its natural DNA adaptation abilities, The Cyphs no longer could keep other specie's DNA effects permanently, only a very select few Cyphs managed to keep said attribute, all other's bodies began rejecting the new DNA after a short while upon fusing.

 

Now the question is, how did the Cyph mutate into humanoid/insect hybrids? the anser is simple, through centuries of evolution, in fact, the first few humanoid, bipedal Cyphs were only around "Generation 4", only around the specie's 4698th's aniversary. Only then did the Race began getting noticed within the Overworld, for they could think and act like normal Feys. Much to the chagrin of other kingdoms, who began fearing what they could do.

The Cyphs however, prohibited themselves from ever attacking other kingdoms without being provoked first, as to lower the already distrustful attitude of all other kingdoms. Did it work? Somewhat. The Cyphs always prepared for war, with its "Tribemaster" type of government, the Tribe leader and the Council decided what the Species would do as a whole.

 

The Cyphs took a liking to Martial arts, and swordsmanship. Even though they couldn't exactly make swords very easily, since they only had their armblades, they adapted their combat style fitting both Samurai swordsmanship, to Ninja's stealthy approach and Martial arts into their overrall specie's training regimen. 

 

The one fatal flaw of the Cyphs, however...was that they had no magic potential...and this would lead to their downfall during the hunts.

The Cyphs began and ended at the very place they were born. The "Domun Tranquilum" Translated to "Home of Tranquility". 

Located at the forest north of Kilkis Seres and West of Arta. The Domun Tranquillum was all Cyph's home.

 

Surprisingly, the Cyphs were very welcoming of strangers, their kind always showed a disposition to learn from others and showed extreme patience, their entire upbringing was all about "Respect someone, first and foremost." Every foreigner, stranger. would be greeted by the Cyph people with open arms, and the tribemaster would personaly welcome them and grant them passage through Cyph territory and free walking through the Cyph's home. 

 

Not only that but the strangers would get food from the Cyph hunters, who periodicaly were out to hunt wild animals to feed their kind. As well as a roof to sleep under alongside other Cyphs at their barracks, this made it so that MANY trading caravans began coming to Domun Tranquillum for trading and rest. Heck, even criminals came over to them to hide, but the Cyphs, upon discovering such transgressions have been made before, would exile the stranger. 

 

The Cyphs were a likable lot...They respected others, never attacked first...but then why were they wiped out? Fear.

 

Of all good, peaceful species, there are always the bad eggs...for Example, The "Demon Cyph" legend. Which was the sole cause of the Cyph Hunts.

Where one Mutation, changed a cyph to the point of it becoming an genocidal monster...

The Seven Fronts of Endymion

 

 

 

 

The city of Endymion sat on a lake. With seven bridges connecting it to all major roads, it was a veritable fortress along many trade routes through the territory. And the Warlord known as Alukir wanted such a prize for himself. A brave boy discovered the plans, and at his own peril traveled to Endymion. It was the actions of the boy that gave the people of Endymion time to send out a call for aid, for mighty as their walls were they could not stand against the march of time. Stocking up as best they could, the Endyminites became ensieged in the early spring, forced to wait for help that might never come. Furiously they fought to protect their home, but as Spring turned to summer, their morale and food stores ran low. Alukir was resorting to torching and torture of the local farms, the sovereign of Endymion torn between those trapped outside and those trapped within. For days he watched unspeakable things done to his people, unable to break the encirclement to save them. He nearly broke, but near the start of fall, the eve of the decision to surrender, the North Bridge was attacked...from behind.

 

Alukir's troops were caught unaware, smashed asunder to an unstoppable might. Within the hour the North Bridge had weathered magic of all elements, until thirty armored figures strode towards the weary besieged city.

 

Capes flapping in the wind, each of these warriors were a standard bearer unto themselves; their weapons of polished iron, of a quality unseen by those of the city. And as they crossed the threshold of the first bridge, three turned to face away, standing vigil.

 

The first true battle of the mighty Ithurians had begun.

 

Within three days, the seven bridges had been secured. Striding through the front gates were nine of them, led by Lady Arthuria. She stood atop the steps of the palace of Endymion called Kaer Peres, and sword to the Sovereign of Endymion their assistance.

 

 

"We are the Iron Lords of Ithuriel, and we have come to defend this city."

 

 

It is claimed the seige lasted years. In truth, it lasted halfway through winter. Lady Arthuria was a brilliant strategist, using those adept at water and ice to cause tidal waves upon the bridges, dragging man and beast down under, then frozen beneath to drown. It was a brutal efficency that broke morale of Alukir's mercenary army, and over a month his soldiers dwindled to one hundred. Thirty Ithurian Knights, three per bridge and nine wandering, held back the tide. Then they set out. The one hundred fifty either died or ran, and Alukir was slain by the gilded blade of Arthuria -Caliburnys. The siege broken, ended, and won, the Iron Lords of Ithuriel, the Paladins of Justice, had come forth into the dawn, and chose to reveal themselves. This began the fearful rumors amongst the Warlords of the North, for men and women of justice and right, wielding weapons of divine metal and speaking no words beyond truth, had come forth in darkest hour.

 

Those who once feared now hoped. Those who crushed hope, now feared.

 

The Seven Fronts of Endymion became the legendary first appearance of the Ithurians of Ithuriel, but was lost to the annals of time, relegated to broken whispers and myths untouched by the wretched acts of a single Warlord.

Its time.

 

 

 

For the Demon Cyph's tale, the legend..the scourge.

 

 

 

We all know about the Cyph's evolutionary hierarchy, every few poiints in their lives, they 'evolve' per say, as in their body mutates into something new, this is affected by both their emotions and genes, and all Cyph's are different during an evolution. The Process is extremely painful,'try getting every part of your body warped in order to make a new one'. Its much like the evolution of a Larvae to a Butterfly, It takes a long time for the process to be complete, the longest one yet. Was about four months, the process took long, very long. And it was extremely painful.

 

Who evolved? you ask? why the tribemaster of course! And his evolution was...well, weird. 

He became what we may call "The demon cyph" today. But what caused his tranformation into such a savage beast? whose's beastial instincts were stronger than their own sanity?

 

Well, remember what I said about emotions fueling the Evolution process? The Tribemaster was a: Honorable and kind man, if a bit hotheaded. But He began acting weird after a fey, whom his men saved the life of and brought him to the safety of their home, turned to be part of a bandit group, who not only killed women and hurt children during their raid, they also demanded payment so they wouldn't go any farther. It was a that time, that not only the Tribemaster...but Typhon as well, faced the harsh reality of the Feys, the bads ones didn't care what you did to them, if you helped them or not, they were out for your blood, and they took it. 

 

It passed for 5 months until the Tribemaster's evolution began, He struggled and writtled inside his locked room, some day the screams lasted for an entire month, and some said for the next month, whispering and moaning could be heard from inside the cocoon. 

 

It was at the fourth month of the evolution thats the "Scum" went back to collect their stuff, but the Cyphs refused to comply, as they were tired of being oppressed and the Tribemaster could not keep true to the traditions of "never attack first" while in a Cocoon anyway. The bandits began ravaging the town, the children taken hostage, the women too, men died protecting them...The bastards had magic, a Cyph's only weakness.

 

Apparently not to the Demon Cyph. Who, coincidentaly began bursting out of its cocoon, now no longer the Tribemaster everyone loved and followed. Now a hate fueled beast, out for Fey blood.

 

"That was not our tribemaster, our tribemaster would have never killed them the way he did, nor would he had hurt Typhon during his hatching, he ripped the boy's entire arm off!" That was what one witness of the evolution's completion had to say, Typhon was severely hurt from that, thankfuly Cyph physiology allowed for limbs to grow back...albeit very slowly, in fact it took one entire year for Typhon's arm to heal, since the boy was at his first form, his regeneration was only given to him by the mosquitoes he had living in him, the boy was a weird one, no other Cyph had bugs living and assisting them...Then again, every cyph was different.

 

The Demon Cyph stormed out of the Tribemaster's house, with its already imposing form, the Bandits were surely scared, but the Demon attacked first before they could even react.

 

Jar, one of the band of 10 bandits, was caught first, off guard, by a armblade to the chest, as he was thrown at his friend, Marky, supposedly, Jar's body exploded in a explosion of acid when  it landed on Marky, killing them both. 

 

Sul and Soe attacked it soon afterwards, Their magical weapons, and the bandit mage's magic had no effect on the Demon's armor. In fact it did nothing, as he slashed Soe's throat off and Grabbed Sul, holding him hostage for a few moments...before ripping the man in two.

 

After that the bandits picked and ran for their lives. In fear, the Demon gave chase. Taking them out, one, by one. Until one of them actually made it to Kilkis Seres, hell the man made it even into the Throne room, where Shiva was it broke through one of the ceiling's windows and right on top of him, right in the middle of the Audience hall. The thing knew no stop, no rest. 

 

What followed afterwards was the reason why the Cyphs were feared and destroyed years later. The Demon jumped on top of the Bandit, as the man began struggling around, the Demon gave him a Death stare for a moment...it was the man whom the Tribemaster had taken in, and who had betrayed the Cyph's trust. This made the Demon go in a fit of rage as it began...to rip the man to shreds right in the audience hall, and drink his blood like a Vampire...as the Demon did that, it began to visualy mutate in reaction to taking Fey dna, and it became vulnerable for the Royal guards to strike it, it flew away as it was endangered, and escaped...the man was still alive. His last dying words were... "The...Cyphs...They did this..." He dropped dead soon after from blood loss, the demon had ripped his arms off and drank his blood. 

 

This horrified everyone in the room, to have a species which could evolve into something so...evil and cruel...it was a threat, and it had to be eliminated, peaceful or not. It took a few hundred years of investigations about this thing's whereabouts, and it had one heck of a time, slaying countless villages and innocents  making some of them turn into crazed bug like creatures totaly unlike the Cyphs to follow its will. But suddenly it vanished, it was gone, it and its pets. 

 

This was the nail in the coffin, while it was gone, the Cyph home was vulnerable, and for the first time ever. The armies of all continents rallied together to kill the Cyoh...in a cowardly act. But they cannot be blamed...for their actions were based on fear...and fear alone.

That's a lot of characters! But it is easier to know who is from which world.

 

Rabs would be slightly offended to be considered to be ruled by Shiva, when in reality her liege is The Maiden of the Lake, Leviathan. And King Asura to some extent. Both rulers of the Northern continent, Caligo.

 

The Twins, now they would be angry to be considered subjects of King Alderon. They know the King is a bad man, but they still don't know the true extent of his ambition.

I was away for the weekend, but now I am trying to get caught up on stuff.  Right now there's so many things going on that I have contemplated putting this RP on hold, but that will surely kill it and I do not want to do that, not when I have so much planned and everyone is enjoying it thus far.

Thought I'd help you understand whats happened so far from your last post, so here it is in a quick nutshell. I'm sure I got everything... I'm sure, hope so anyways haha

 

Overworld info

- Maxis wants a polishing. Eclaire speaks about her helping others was simply her way of atonement & not heroic. Rhaedyn's at a inn & beat up some bad guys. Morana left Shiva's house & headed for the Nymphadora Sea. Aqua is training her magic outside of Jynn's house. Jynn is within a dark room awaiting Shiva's response. Baxter is checking rooms for an armory room to fix his armor. Both Rabiyu & Alicia want to go with Yev to Mystras without Jynn & the rest of the group. 

 

World Below info

- King Alderon, Midnea, red knight, Arthur, Draksis & Raleigh are on the Phoenix ship. Manel is running back to the ship with Curvis. Midnea with red knight are talking to Raleigh at the captains quarters. Arthur is talking to Draksis about the griffin. Helios with the Aeternum twins are heading to Lyonee talking along the way. Visco is doing paper work in her father's royal study room with 2 guards just outside the door. Roger's walking towards the castle walls to see if anyone has seen the person his looking for in a photo. Henry has gone dreadnaught on us & is ready to fight both Effie & Everyth but Effie is confused about what happened to her fellow knights Henry & Everyth, then Draksis black knights that he sent to the dungeons entered with Effie telling them to capture both Henry & Everyth alive for questioning.

Eh. I'l admit its not the best story. But I felt Thatcher It couldnt have been any random cyph to turn. I felt that the tribemaster would have a bigger impact as a whole.

 

And as for Typhon. It is a possibility o him going demon But that will depend on how the RP progresses. And how other characters interact with him, if he is constantly treated badly by everyone or attacked too much for being a cyph. He will mutate into Demon Typhon on his third evolution.
