tfw no one loves your characters.

 

 

And to be honest, it's difficult to pick favourites with a great cast like this, seriously. But really...I'd personally say Shiva's my favourite. For many reasons, but all of which make me wish I was in the RP earlier just so I could see her more or have my characters talk to her more.

 

The same can be said for Helios and Henry, both awesome characters, the former being so developed and the latter being badass as hell while also having his intricacies and struggles, particularly with a dead Fey in his head.

 

But really, I love all of ya.

 Third has to be the twins. Seeing them evolve from characters who got involved into something big, to seeing them take responsibility and go as far to give their lives in a war that they could have easily said no to or run away from. I've loved seeing them evolve as characters, and showing us how tough humans can be.

And to think their goal was to cause some problems for the King and then disappear!

 

Aulea, their mother, was killed by supposed guards from Sondon, which they weren't, forcing those two to search for a new place to call home.

 

The Overworld was going to be that place, but sadly one of them died. It broke my heart to pick one over the other, but I knew Aura was going to be the one to suffer the most, since she always thought that Aurion was going to be there to annoy her.

 

I remember that they weren't going to be related at the beginning, but things changed and I'm glad they did.

Henry didn't expect things to escalate that far either. But now we're here. Fighting at the world above the clouds of our own.

For first place I'd have to say Henry. His stubbornness and evolution as a character from this mysterious ex-knight who is all bad@$$ and strong, seeing him slowly let his guard down and show his humanity. It's been so interesting to witness, and I really like him.

Henry, at least this RP's Henry anyway, is much like Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza, he looks tough, is tough, can break a man in half easily, but once you get to know him you know he's just a kind guy who just wants the best for everyone he likes. He'd gladly end his own life to save his friends, for one.

 

 

If I had to choose characters really now. It'd be Raiden and Shiva just because they are perfect foils to one another. That and I regret not having Henry interact more with Shiva while she was still alive.

If I had to choose, I'd probably pick Helios as well. He feels incredibly realistic, relatable, and conveys a number of emotions. Shiva would probably be a very close second. She had a slightly fearful personality when it came to her duties asd a ruler, but she also had a soft and caring side when it came to those she treasured, especially Jynn and Maxis. Maxis is probably third on my list as I am a sucker for comedy. I love all these characters though.

I gotta tell ya guys, reading the earliest posts in these Sign-ups/OOCs warms my heart honestly. The enthusiasm for a new RP, discussion regarding how the RP will play out before starting and the anticipation of when the OP/GM began the RP proper...I miss that feeling.

 

With me being more reliable with posting nowadays, I really wish I, as I am now, were there when this all started. I would've had the chance to develop Soren further to be honest, but you know, beggars can't be choosers.

 

The RP started on the 21st of July, 2016, as I recall from my reading, so Overworld's over a year and a half old. What a journey most of us have had, with me tagging on in the middle of the third act and having poor old Soren be mostly silent as I had done my usual rubbish of not posting for too long, then hastily re-developing Soren into a usable character, yada-yada, but I think I've done all right, all things considered, even managed to get two more characters for my efforts.

 

I'm really glad I jumped on board this when I did though. It's been a really damn good RP and we're not even done yet. And I look forward to (hopefully) continuing to be a reliable poster. (Like right now for instance, I really hope I haven't forgotten about an RP. Feel free to slap me if I have. lol)

 

On a side note: Is there a usable Map of the Overworld/World Below right now? The images originally posted have been deleted by Photobucket.

It has been an amazing ride, that's for sure! I can't wait to find out how this journey will end.

 

I think I can speak for the both of us when I say Mystics and I are very happy to see that you and others have enjoyed this RP as much as you have over the years.  Keeping this RP active over the course of two revolutions of the Earth around the sun has been a great pastime for the both of us, and it is a shame the roleplay will be over sometime within this year or so, but being with awesome roleplayers such as yourselves really brought out the gift of writing in all of us, I feel.  I have seen such improvement not only in myself, but also in everyone else.  =)

 

Kuni, while things were slow at first your dedication shown through the veil, and I think you have improved the most of all, coming in stronger and stronger as time goes on -- a tsunami after such mild waves.  Don't sell yourself short due to the past, and stand tall knowing that I consider you, as well as others, to be among the best roleplayers with whom I have ever had the pleasure to roleplay.

 

As for your side note, the maps should be up on the roleplay thread itself on Page 1, Post 1, though please tell me if you are not able to see it.  It might have something to do with being in a different country, sort of like international laws not permitting Youtube videos to be seen outside certain jurisdictions.

Aww...thanks, Vaude. That really means a lot to me, to hear you say that. I won't let any of you down, we're seeing this RP to the end.

 

And I'll check the first RP post, make sure the maps are still there and get back to ya.
