Hey there everyone, how's it going!?  So then, one of the most exciting announcements from the Sony conference at E3 came in the form of a new Spider-Man game being made for the PS4 by Insomniac Games!  In this video, I, The Friendly Neighborhood Webhead, talk about my thoughts on the game!  Enjoy! :D

I want this game so bad!!! Are you all looking forward to it as well? :3

Yeah! The game has NO TIES TO THE MOVIE SO WOOOP. I feared it would be a rushed game to be thrown along with the movie like the games of Amazing Spiderman 1 and Amazing Spiderman 2 were, but it's not a movie game! There is HOPE.

Oh my god, YEEEEEESSSS. This was favorite part of E3 by a long shot. Insomniac has such a good pedigree and I'm totally confident they'll make this game fantastic. You took the words right out of my mouth in the video, I agree completely.

plus that new costume mmmmm so good

Having recently purchased Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, a pretty good game in its own right, has really helped my hype for the game. Also, I've personally heard that the first Amazing Spider-Man video was actually pretty good too while the second one is a massive drop in quality.

On topic: What I'm most concerned with is what the game's formula is. It seems like it's going for another take on the open world, exploring New York City structure that was popularized with the Spider-Man 2 movie game, but honestly, if that's the case, I would need it to be switched up a little because putting Spider-Man in that environment has been done way too many times in my opinion.

Shattered Dimensions, since I already brought it up, is a good example of how to put a new spin on Spider-Man. Sure, it's a lot more basic, it's essentially just an old-school level by level beat-'em-up with an excuse plot just to see four different versions of the same character fight with each other, but even then, the creativity is still there, and that's what is important. It did something different and it did it fairly well and made it entertaining. That's what I want for this game. I know it's in good hands gameplay wise since it's being developed by Insomniac Games, but still, I'd prefer something new is all I'm saying.

I'm actually looking forward to it. Hopefully it actually stands out as a great game, like the Batman series has :)

Yeah, I'm psyched up for it too!  And yeah, I think Insomniac will do to Spider-Man what Rocksteady did to Batman!  We'll see if that's the case! :D

Indeed!  It's a whole new Spider-Man experience, and we'll probably get to see more of Spidey's rogue gallery, ya know? :3

Haha, yeah, the reveal of this game was definitely unexpected, and yet so cool!  2.8 was the highlight of E3 for me, but the Spider-Man reveal comes at a close second!  But yeah, hopefully, this game will be amazing! (No pun intended, lol. xD)

Yes, I agree, the costume looks badass!

Ah, I see!  I've always wanted to play Shattered Dimensions, and you certainly bring up a great point with your thoughts on the game! I should get it when I get the chance! X_X

But yeah, we'll see what Insomniac cooks up with this latest Spidey game! :D

And well guys, I saw a video about E3 where the guy from Insomniac and a guy from Marvel were discussing about the game, and they really seem hell bent on making the best Spider-Man game ever!  They also go on to say that they want to make Peter just as important as Spider-Man, because in the comics, both personas make the character what he is, ya know?  They want a really cohesive story, and they want to ensure that this game symbolizes what Spider-Man is, ya know? Also, they said Spidey will be a lot older in this game, as he'll be more experienced, as evident with the insanely sick moves he displays in the trailer!  Gahhh, I'm so hyped! X_X

If this game proves successful, then maybe Spidey will go the way of Arkham and have his own trilogy! That'd be nice! :D
