Three Pokemon Games Coming to Virtual Console this Week; More to Come Throughout Summer

Recommended Posts

This Thursday, three Pokémon™ Mystery Dungeon titles come to the Wii U™ Virtual Console™ service: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team from the Game Boy Advance™ library of games, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky both originally Nintendo DS™ titles. Rediscover these great games or try them for the first time on your Wii U console, and look for more Pokémon Virtual Console titles coming later this summer.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team & Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team

What if you woke up one day, and you were a Pokémon? What if all of a sudden you find yourself in a NEW world, where you can speak and interact with other Pokémon? The adventure begins when you and your partner Pokémon set out on rescue missions in a world ravaged by natural disasters. But, what is your true purpose and destiny in this Pokémon world? That's the REAL mystery...

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky

Become a Pokémon and Save the World! In the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky game, players become a Pokémon and team up with a partner Pokémon. Together the two set out on an adventure of exploration and discovery, ultimately saving the world from destruction. This game is a great starting point for players to enter the world of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and for returning players to discover even more secrets.

As a huge fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, I'm super excited to get to play all of these again on the Wii U. I believe Europe already has these three games, too. I'm also excited to see what Pokemon games come to Virtual Console next. Maybe we'll get Silver, Gold, and Crystal on the 3DS?

Why won't they release these games on the 3DS instead? 2 of those games were originally on the DS, it's the same with Pokemon Rangers I really wished they released them on the 3DS

The 3DS can't really emulate GBA or DS games as well as Nintendo would like, or at least that's what my research has suggested. Either way, the two on the DS can still be played on the 3DS anyway with the original cartridge. It was impossible to play them on a TV until now (at least through official means), so I'm excited to play them that way.

At last,I've been waiting for those games for ages,I played Explorer of time and I loved it but I lost my copy of the game,so I can't wait to try Explorer of Sky and I never played the originals.I'll probably pick blue rescue team over Red,I assume the DS version is better then the GBA game.

I never really got into the Mystery Dungeon games. I like being a Trainer more than a Pokemon. GSC VC games are where it's at, though; I will spend forever and a day replaying those.

We've had these in Europe for some time now. I picked up Red Team, but haven't had a chance to play it yet as I'm still neck deep in Xenoblade X.

While I do think it's inevitable for Gold/Silver/Crystal to hit the 3DS I wonder if it'd be all that worth it... After playing the remakes I'd find it extremely tough to go back to the Gen II versions, but as the remakes aren't readily available any more a VC port of GSC would be definitely ideal for many people. Although, now I realise that Gen II ports would greatly benefit from Pokemon Bank.

Much like the Virtual Console as a whole, I'm disappointed with the Pokemon games we have gotten. Not sure if America have it, but here in Europe we have that Pikachu Poké Park thing, like that's barely a game :/ They seemed shocked then when RBY did well on the 3DS...

Why why why does nintendo keep giving the ds and gba games to wii u and giving the 3ds players frikkin SNES games! This is so stupid and it pisses me off, I know Shulk said that the 3ds cannot emulate those games well but still I am sure there is some way. For DS at least, the DS games are still playable on 3ds so Nintendo not making them downloadable is beyond my understanding. But these things as they keep giving the games that people are actually pretty excited to play to Wii U and giving us 3ds players much older and not as interesting games makes me feel like I should have spent my 200 bucks on a wii u instead of the New 3ds.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I've always liked the original more than the remakes. I'd be pretty happy if we got them on the 3DS, personally. xD

We haven't gotten Pokepark, but I get the feeling it'll be one of these summer games... As long as we get something like Snap or Ranger to make up for it, it won't be too bad I guess.

Nintendo seems to be testing the waters for downloadable DS games, given that WarioWare: Touched is available as a download game on My Nintendo. If they make more progress, then I can see them releasing more, but they'll need time to figure out how to properly emulate them.

Also, while the 3DS might not be getting much in terms of Virtual Console titles, at least it's actually got a decent game lineup this year. The Wii U has two upcoming games this year, neither one of which being a big hit among owners of the system (I have no interest in either one of them, personally). Virtual Console is pretty much the only way to keep Wii U owners' attentions until Zelda comes out next year. The 3DS has a lot of great games on the horizon, and I'd take that over a bigger Virtual Console lineup anyway. Also, this is more personal preference than anything, but the SNES has a great library and I'm glad that we're finally getting SNES games on the 3DS. Playing EarthBound on the go was a huge surprise.

Oh I still like the Gen II versions, but the remakes are great too. :D

I'd love for Snap to be added. We've got all the Ranger games on our VC, but I get the feeling they'd wreck the GamePad like they ruined all those DS screens haha.
