Kaweebo 3,617 Posted June 18, 2016 (edited) Some films I think would have worked better as 2D animated movies and Frozen is one of them. I don't think as many people would complain about Disney 'using the same face' if they had Frozen be a 2D film. The way Anna and Elsa's noses curve just looks so much better in two dimensions and ends up looking kind of strange in three. I still love the designs, but still... Something like Zootopia works a lot better as a CGI film where the extra textures and hair that CGI can provide really helps make the animals feel 'alive'. I think it's more fitting for this fairy-tale kind of story and all that. 5 Kingdomhe, Mr. Boba, Geralt and 2 others reacted to this
BlankShell 638 Posted June 18, 2016 Preferred 3D. 2D is nice and all, but the 3D effects, especially in regards to snow, made Frozen a perfect 3D fit. 1 Setrex reacted to this
Guest Posted June 18, 2016 Preferred 3D. 2D is nice and all, but the 3D effects, especially in regards to snow, made Frozen a perfect 3D fit. Couldn't agree more. Frozen really utilised the 3D capabilities to it's maximum potential with the effects of snow at the time. I love hand drawn animation, but truth be told, Meander animation is the next step for Disney Animation (Paperman/Feast style).
Kingdomhe 1,362 Posted June 18, 2016 I would have liked it better 2D. 1 Movies798 reacted to this
Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted June 18, 2016 I'm actually a little more curious how Tangled would have looked 2D. But this is pretty cool too (gosh darn it). X)"

Mr. Boba 63 Posted June 18, 2016 Sometimes, I wish Disney would go back to 2D animated films, but at the same time I know they can't because this era of animated movies mostly prefers 3D graphics instead T_T
Robbie the Wise 5,050 Posted June 18, 2016 Frozen was a very environmentally driven film. As beautiful as this looks I think a lot magic would be lost. The world scenery was amazing in this movie(which is why I would love to see it in KH3). All that scenery was really brought by the 3D aspect of it. 1 HarLea Quinn reacted to this
KHUndertaleFan25 2,858 Posted June 18, 2016 While I like this artform, I think 3D made Frozen prettier than it would be in 2D.

Kaweebo 3,617 Posted June 18, 2016 (edited) How do you even notice this stuff? Can't we just enjoy the movie and not fret about the unimportant details? Because I've seen the movie? Character design is everything to get you invested in the...well, characters. And I happen to think that their faces would translate much better to 2D than 3D. I'm also not a fan of the trend that every film is CGI now, even if it is easier to make than hand-drawn. Just looking at the pictures presented, the curvature of Anna's face works way better as a flat image instead of fully round, in my opinion. It doesn't make Frozen a bad film, it's just not in a style I'd consider superior. Edited June 18, 2016 by Kaweebo 1 Movies798 reacted to this
Movies798 1,358 Posted June 18, 2016 In my opinion, I would've prefer the 2D hand-drawn over 3D cg. But even if the movie was hand-drawn I probably still wouldn't like it.
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) Good God, this looks beautiful! I've mentioned how I dearly miss the awesome, hand drawn animated style Disney would use for its films, and looking at this 2D version of the "Love Is An Open Door" segment makes me miss that hand drawn style even more!!! GOOD GOD, HOW I MISS HAND DRAWN DISNEY!!!! Edited June 19, 2016 by The Transcendent Key
