Video Kingdom Hearts DDD Graphics Comparison Original vs HD 2.8 (Part 3)

Recommended Posts

Looks pretty good so far, though they seemed to have dimmed down some effects, such as the light glow in the Stopza scene and Young Xehanort doesn't have that dark aura around him anymore. Still it looks pretty clean and promising, though I hope they will still make it 3D compatible with the PS4. I mean, it's KH 3D, it only makes sense, it would be a shame if they didn't do it.

The 3D thing was a pun on the game's title, some of the official merchandise (like the soundtrack) drop the 3D thing entirely. And it was never the main pull of the game anyway.

The most noticeable differences, at least to me, is that they rounded out the polygons for Sora's sleeves and gloves (why didn't they do this for Sora's KH1's model in 1.5?), and changed the kingdom key's model to have the normal teeth that they have in 1 and 2 versus the slant.

Looks like Riku's wristbands are more than just a texture, too.

Here's to hoping Sora and Riku's low poly models have actual fingers, too. Can't tell in any of this new footage.

I know what the 3D in terms of the title was for, but my point is that this was a previously 3D compatible game, it would be weird if it didn't have that option on a system that can also support 3D on it. It's like if you released a version of Fun Stix without the stick itself in there, it's just a bag of powder. Enjoyable, but not exactly what it's previously known for.
