I need your help! - Survey for College

I really need the help of this Community!

Hello all, I'm a HUGE long time fan of the series and I regret not being a part of the community for such a long time. I have so many friends in real life who also enjoy the series (not as much as me though!) and they're all amazing!

Long story short, I have a huge problem! I need the help of as many of you as possible. I have an assignment that needs to be in on Tuesday and I have nowhere near enough results. My assignment is a survey. I've asked a few of my friends, but I'd really like opinions from the actual community, too.

I'm currently doing a game development course since I at least want to make a Kingdom Hearts fan game some day. (or maybe even be a part of Square Enix... ) All of your input will help me pass my course with a high grade.

It'd be so helpful if you could fill out my survey. All it asks is your opinions on Kingdom Hearts as a series including things such as the gameplay and stuff.

I also want to ask the community so I have evidence that you're all loyal fans and caring towards others in the community. I'm not sure if many of you watch TGJ or anything but we, as a community, are being slandered as 'toxic'. I HATE that. I don't personally think this community is toxic... I think this community is the best community out there.

(I've also seen the "toxic" label thrown around, and... no. Anyone who says the KH community is toxic has clearly never been in an actually toxic community. There are a lot of opinions in this fandom that I don't agree with, but rarely is anyone a jerk about it. We're definitely one of the more open and friendly groups out there. ^^ )

Just finished the survey!  It was quite the entertaining survey to complete!  I wish you the best of luck with getting all the surveys out to as many people as possible! Kingdom Hearts is just the best!

 

And yeah, I remember Cynical's video about people labeling the KH community as toxic, and I think that's messed up, ya know?  At least for me, in the five years I've been a member of this site, I've always seen this community as one of the friendliest and most humblest gaming communities out there!  Everyone here gets to express their thoughts, and we all have respect for each other, ya know?  I mean sure, there are some debates sometimes, but that's only natural, but not to the point it would be toxic!  If anything, the KH community is healthy!

 

But yeah, KINGDOM HEARTS FOR LIFE!!!

So a few days ago I posted about a survey I needed you guys to fill in. (It REALLY helped so thanks to everyone who has so far. If you want to take the survey and haven't already, the link is down below).

Anyway, it's been delayed a whole other WEEK. So I was thinking, maybe you guys could give me some advice, some helpful fun facts about the series that I may not know and others who haven't played Kingdom Hearts may find interesting, and telling me perhaps a detailed opinion on the series as a whole in the comments for this thread?

I know it's a lot to ask but it would really help me out and I'd be very grateful for your time.

First, I would like you to know that I've hit quota so I can't like your post at the moment

 

Secondly, I think I could give you my opinion of the series: (I'll try to make it short )

 

OK, so all the way up to KH2 the series is amazing, it has a perfect ending, the 3 friends are back at the Destiny Islands and the worlds are safe. Then making 358/2 days to know a bit better the Organization is cool too, even though they added Xion who's quite a meaningless character, everything's still cool.

 

However, BBS started bringing the series down to pieces. In first place making the trailer look a lot better than the actual game wasn't a great idea (Jump Festa trailer, that was amazing), then the story was very meh (let's be honest, it was only good from the Destiny Islands onwards) and short, obviously this had to be done this way because there was 3 characters so the stories couldn't be inmensly long. More things, in BBS some retcons start to show up here and there, and the gameplay was cool... just for the first playthorugh, it was too repetitive later on, I much prefer command menu.

 

Moreover, Re: Coded came with it's useless gameplay and stupid story. Having Pete and Maleficent as some of the main bad guys despite them proving to be worthless in KH2 wasn't an amazing idea either. Moreover, they kept BBS's battle system but a lot more boring and repetitive. The best thing this game had was the leveling system where you could change a lot of the game settings, and Olympus Coliseum.

 

And then the series was stabbed again with DDD. Just like the previous games, no command menu. Gameplay wise, it has even more things that make it bad: while flowmotion was amazing, having the bosses not stagger and having OP commands like Baloon made flowmotion useless and was only used to move around quicker. Now, gameplay wise this game doesn't deserve to be treated this way, it was OK, let's be honest, not as good as KH2's one, but hey, still acceptable. However, story wise this game is awful for the overall KH story. The first time I played the game I loved the story, but it's been 4 years since then, we've all had time to think about the story, and having included timetravel has killed KH, plus adding more retcons than ever before (for example, in BBS the X-Blade was forged one way and in DDD another way, having a Light clash with an identical Darkness in BBS and having 7 lights fight 13 darknesses in DDD).

 

To end this I would like to add how unnecesary II.8 is and how it's just there to milk KH. Of course, you're all free to get hyped for the game and buy it and stuff, but I still think that paying 60€ for a game that I didn't really enjoy that much (DDD), a one hour long film (Back Cover) and a demo (0.2) it's unfair. Also, 1.5 and 2.5 were fine, they could help newcomers to understand the story and get more people to play the game, but 2.8 is just stupid, even the name, it sounds like a joke. I just couldn't stop myself from laughing when I saw it announced, I couldn't believe they were really going to do something like that, and when I saw everyone hyping up for the game I was just confused.

 

I would rather not mention X, I haven't really played it that much.

 

 

 

So basicaly, KH was amazing until KH2, and acceptable until DDD, but the announcement of II.8 made me lose all interest in this game

I was dreading that presentation but thanks to all of you (and YouTube) I had built up enough courage to do my presentation on Kingdom Hearts!!
