On a distant planet, there's a race of aliens called Akians. The Akians live just like we do, with advanced societies and technology. They are the same as us biologically as well, physically their race and ours are identical. The only difference is that they are able to command one of four elements, Earth, Wind, Fire, Water. The elements form bands, or collections of akians with the same elements.  The Akians have lived in parallel to the people of earth for as long as the universe has been. This race has been at war with another, the Targans, for around twenty years now. When the invasions began, the Akains sent some of their young to earth to be safe. Those children never new of their heritage, but are now starting to learn of their powers. Their silent guardian, Damian, has kept watch from a distance, watching the kids grow, keeping them out of trouble as best they could, waiting for the time they would be old enough to learn of their kind. That time has come.

Damian - Damain sipped his coffee. He looked down at the paper and saw an article about two pages in titled "Power outage across three city blocks on thursday, police are lost." Hoo boy. He read on. "Last thursday, the police were barraged with phone calls from panicked citizens when all the power went out across three city blocks with no warning. The police investigated, to find a pole supporting a power line bent ninety degrees over a large dumpster, with the lines splitting and launching sparks. No one know how the dumpster got there, but a city engineer tasked with assessing the damage had this to say 'we really dont know what could have happened here. The angle at which the pole is bent suggests the dumpster was thrown by some immense force, but we cant figure out what could have launched it.' The police urge anyone " damian stopped reading. He sighed. He couldnt put it off much longer, these kids were gonna level the city if they didnt learn to control their powers. He made up his mind. Today was the day they would finally know. He stood up and pondered who to talk to first. But he had another thought. He sat back down. They would know after he finished his coffee.

-Kai-

The young boy sat in an alleyway next to the local church, taking a long nap. The young man was never able to sleep very well, so often he had to settle down to get some well needed rest. He was homeless- so the only bed he had was the cold concrete floor or the filthy used beds in the shelter. Kai didn't like sleeping in the shelter too much, for he didn't want to take the bed away from someone who really needed it.

Now what was strange is that the young man actually came from a very, /very/ wealthy family. He was the adoptive son to a dentist and a teacher for the school of deaf- two very smart indivisuals. The mother couldn't bare children, and found it unwise to go through pregnancy at their middle age anyway. As a result adoption was their best answer. They adopted Kai when he was five years old. The boy was a very happy bright individual. Despite this, the parents refrained from telling Kai the truth until he hit thirteen years old. Kai always suspected something- but he didn't want to believe it. Since the reveal, he has been much more reserved to himself and overall lost.

As soon as high school was over, Kai left his home. Even before finishing high school he loitered around his 'friends' houses. After high school was over and his friends left him, Kai became homeless. The young man was desperate to find himself- to find a purpose. He continue to sleep on the cold hard concrete in the alleyway, th only solace to him being the ground and himself.

- Osric Relic -

"Seven, eight . . . nine . . . ten."

Osric strained against the barbell, pushing it up on his third and final set of fifteen.  Sweat beaded on his brow as his muscles only barely agreed to lift a weight of 220 lbs, his anticipated goal for the end of the season, but it was more challenging than he anticipated.

"Eleven . . . twelve."

His muscles burned as he continued to strive towards the end of the set, his hands wedged into bent-in metal strangely grooved and contoured to match his hands.  He had not recognised it until a few weeks ago, but he concluded after much internal debate that it was not his physical strength that did that but rather always was there to service people in proper hand placement.

"Thirteen . . . fourteen . . . fif--"

Now his muscles were on fire, and Osric strove wildly to get them moving again as he reached the halfway point between his chest and a full rise of the barbell.  His body locked up and his mind contested with the body's mismatching will.  With a primal shout, he summoned enough energy to lift the bar all the way up and placed it on the rack, his breath laboured but the taste of victory sweet.

"Fifteen," he voiced quietly, lying on the bench for several minutes before deciding to move.  He looked at the clock and, realising that he had not had breakfast just yet even though it was nearing 11 o'clock, decided to head out for brunch.  With a wipe of a towel and a splash of refrigerated water down his throat, both of which came from the mini-fridge within the room, he left the room and locked it behind him.  Osric had no idea that the bar was bent inwards a little more after his workout session.

The day was beautiful outside.  Everything was lively and cheerful, and he could hear the nearby church bell chime its hourly toll.  Having the day off, Osric enjoyed a breath of freedom and strolled towards the cafe on the other side of town, a local hotspot and the source of everybody's favourite pancakes.  As much as he loathed to admit it, Osric loved pancakes, especially with blueberry syrup, and that was just what he was going to get.

He glanced around at the town, looking at the neighboring buildings he recognised only too well.  There was the primary school, the police department, the fire department, and the church in all of their rustic charm.  Nestled near the church, however, was an alleyway with an oddity he did not previously see, and he had to return to the mouth of the alley to understand what it was.  It was a homeless man, or at least it seemed that way, unblanketed and probably uncomfortable.  Osric felt sorry for him and wondered if he could do anything for him, but he had little in his pockets and little time to spend.

After a few seconds of thought, he did what pretty much everybody else would do:  he continued walking.  It was cruel and selfish, but he knew nothing of the man and did not want to wake him of his agitated slumber.  Maybe next time he passed by he would present him with a sheet of some sort, or maybe a blanket from his parents' attic.  The man deserved that much, perhaps even a hot meal, but with five dollars in his pocket it was either Osric or that homeless man who would eat.  It was easier to turn a blind eye and wait, and so he did.

-Vera-

Most college students probably wouldn't awaken at seven o'clock in the morning if they had no classes that day.  But this was not the case for Vera.  At the crack of dawn the young woman was already up, having showered, fed the horses, fed herself, and brought herself into the den, which is where she had sat for the past three hours.  The room was well-lit, with several lamps and a parted curtain, which permitted a ray of sun to beam through the window and onto sheets of notebook paper.

The grandfather clock ticked in the corner of the room as Vera poured herself over her textbook.  She pushed her reading glasses up the bridge of her nose, stifling a yawn as she glanced out the window.  A morning dove had perched itself on the sill, seeming entirely oblivious to her presence.  It didn't linger long before fluttering off, likely due to the sound of the den's door opening with a creak.  Vera shifted in her seat to steal a glance over her shoulder at the middle-aged man standing in the doorframe, his hair smoothed back and his suit wrinkle-free.  "My dear Vera," he said, chuckling softly.  "It never fails to astound me at how dedicated you are to your studies. Your mother said that she heard you tiptoe in here hours ago, is that true?"

Upon his statement Vera's face darkened as she snapped her reading glasses off.  "I was trying to be as quiet as I could," she murmured.  "Sorry if I woke you two up."

"Oh, no, not at all," her father replied casually, leaning against the bookshelf alongside Vera.  "I had to get ready for work, anyhow, and your mother had to get your sister ready for school."

Vera merely nodded, before shifting to return to her reading.  "Well, I hope that you have a great day at work, then."

"Actually"--his words arrested Vera's attention again, this time turning fully to face him--"I have a favor to ask of you.  I will not be able to sneak away from work to do this, but I have a gift for your mother waiting at Hopedale's, and I was hoping you could pick it up for me."

It took Vera a moment to process his words, and when she had she smacked her forehead.  "Oh, that's right!  Mother's birthday is tomorrow!  I can't believe I keep forgetting."  Truthfully she hadn't gotten anything yet for her mother's birthday either; she'd been getting so caught up in her exams and meetings with her sister that she kept forgetting of her upcoming birthday.  "But yes, sure, I would be happy to get it for you."

A smile stretched her father's lips fine before he pressed them to Vera's forehead.  "That's my girl.  I'll see you later."

In response Vera smiled shyly as well, her father silently shutting the door to the den as he departed.  It was for the best that Vera departed into town then rather than later, as she ran the risk of forgetting again--or her little sister blurting her purchases.  She tucked a thin novel under her arm to keep her company, before slipping out of the room herself and departing from the house.  Maybe she would get the last bit of her chemistry assignment out of the way while she was at it.

Kai was still fast asleep in the alleyway. He roused up from this slumber upon hearing someone walk by, but he only brushed it off. He went off back into his sleep, slipping into some sort of nightmare. His hand began to twitch and his closed eyes went slightly narrow. What the young man wasn't aware of however, was the gutter above him vibrating in the slightest as the moist mud in the gutter shifted around. Kai clenched his hand tight, causing the gutter to break open and spill all over his head.

Kai gasped at the sudden spill on him, falling out of the alleyway covered in the contents of the gutter. He was manipulating the water in his sleep yet again- something he was paranoid about. After he found out he was adopted, his abilities began to develop. At first it was just things he brushed off, but then it grew and grew. His distance from his parents didn't help either.

Kai wipped his head, grimacing once he saw the dirty water all over his hand. It was not a fun day.

"Oh christ oh jeez oh man" Nick ran home as fast as he could. He didnt know what just happened. He wasnt having a great day sure, but why this? Earlier that day, he was at an open mic. He didnt do great today, not many laughs. He left out the back after his set, and got a little upset. He got kinda angry, but he didnt touch anything. Just let off some steam, yelled a little bit. All of a sudden, there was a loud noise and the street lights all went out. The dumpster that was behind the comedy club was gone. Nick could put two and two together, so he started running. He was getting the hell out. He didnt know how to control it. Stuff like this just happened, he didnt want it to, but it did. it was gonna get him in trouble one of these days.

Damian sipped the last of his coffee and stood up to go. He tossed his windbreaker on and set out. He pulled out his phone. He should probably talk to kai first, kai didnt cause much trouble, but his powers were pretty obvious. Damian walked through the city, peering down back alleys looking for kai. Eventually he found him, dripping with gutter water. Thank god he didnt wait any longer. He approached him. "Hey, my names Damain" he held out a hand for kai to shake. "So, ive got some stuff to tell you. I know you dont know me, but trust me, i only want whats best here. this is gonna be alot to take in, so just let me talk. I know that you know you're special. I can see you just broke that gutter. You can manipulate water right? Thats because your not human. You are from a planet named Akia, just like me." Damian pulled the water pooling around kai into a ball and played around with it, suspended above his hand before tossing it off to the side with splash. "You were sent here as a baby because we are at war. Our leaders decided to send some young here to be safe. I have been watching over you and the others ever since." He sat back. "I suppose you dont have to believe me, but this is all the truth. You saw what i did. You and i are the same." Damian took a breath. "Ill let you think for a second."

Kai was rather aggravated, freezing wet with the dirty water soaking him when Damian came. Kai knew the man- well, didn't know him per say, as Kai always saw the man in the background before on a few occasions. He didn't think much of it. But then the next few seconds came and all of a sudden Kai's world was turned upside down. Even more so than when he first found out he was adopted. At first he was going to call Damian mad, but the man manipulated water right infront of his eyes. Kai was now dry. The young man's eyes widened. He didn't know how to take this in.

"..." Words would not escape his lips. He was utterly speechless. Kai felt as though he was in the twilight zone.

"... Well,-" Kai attempted to speak, but his voice only fell in silence once again.

He could see the distress in Kais face. "Look buddy. I know this is alot. take your time, process it however you need to. When your ready to learn more, give me a call. Theres alot more to talk about." He handed kai a slip of paper with his phone number on it. "I need to go talk to the others like us. everyones powers are starting to show up, and its gonna cause trouble." Damian started to take his leave. but he had one last thing to mention. "Now that you know, dont be afraid of your parents. Theres nothing wrong with you. Let them come to you. But be careful, dont let anyone know. Ill talk to you later." and with that, he walked out of the alley.

Damian strolled up to the cafe everyone in town liked to frequent. He figured he would find either Osric or Nick here. He walked in and ordered another coffee. He scanned the cafe, and found Osric. He strolled over and sat across from him. "Hey, my name is damian. I know you dont know me, but i need you to listen to me. You're special. I know you know that, and i know that. Its because you arent human. Your like me. We are akians, from a planet called Akia. Everyone there are just like you and me, in control of an element." He paused for a moment to sip his coffee and look around. No one was looking, so he took the lid off of his coffee and pulled a blob out with his powers. He let it hang in the air long enough for osric to see it, and then let it fall back into the cup as he raised it to his lips to make sure no one saw. "You were sent here when you were very young because our planet is at war. There are more like us here." he sipped his coffee. "I know you may not believe this, but its the truth. you saw the coffee, and i know youve done it yourself. With earth right?" He sat back to get a response to all of this.

- Osric Relic -

Osric looked up from his pancakes with a look of disgruntlement, not recognising the man in front of him and not caring to know a perfectly good stranger over breakfast, but something about Damian screamed that Osric had to listen to him.  He listened intently, questioning the man's sanity more and more as the conversation went on, but when the orb leapt forth from the coffee and levitated in the air like a raindrop in standstill Osric almost sprang to his feet.

He attracted attention from many within the diner, the sound of conversation and clattering silverware and plates dying to the newest low and Osric's waitress and crush Natalie looking up in surprise.  As soon as he returned to his seat and answered a few "Are you okay?" questions, everything returned to normality, the most of all being the orb.

He listened with a bit more of an eager ear as Damian continued, eyes searching the man in cautious analysis before replying to his question.

"Elements . . . like those in the TV shows and comics?  Fire, earth, and air and all that, and you think I'm like you and from a different planet?"  He scoffed, unsure of how to react any differently and knitting his brow.  "Being special, I can understand.  Heck, we're all unique, but not everyone's special, but never did I think of myself as Kal-El with earth powers."  He looked up into Damian's eyes with a mixed expression trapped between amused laughter and distrust.  "Sorry, man, but this is unreal.  I'm nobody of interest.  You've a neat trick, but it'll take more than that to prove anything you've said."

(Osric needs an additional push.  His sense of reality and fiction is rather firm and not very homogeneous, but Nick or the possibility of Damian showing off his powers to a greater degree would definitely make him a believer.  As for his latent earth powers, he probably does not know of it yet, or his mind buried it deep within his subconscious to save his sanity.  Maybe contact with a Water bandsman would jog his memory, having an affiliation with healing.)

Damian - Dang. Damian supposed they couldnt all be as receptive to it as kai was. He pondered for a second. "Look, i understand this might be tough to believe, so how bout this. You eat your pancakes. Im sorry i interrupted your breakfast. Ill go stand outside and sip my coffee, once youre done, come meet me. You can come with me to meet another person like us. he controls the wind. Maybe that'll help make this a little bit more believable. And you'll get to see some more of my powers. Of course, you could decide this is all bullshit and just go about your day. I cant stop you. Its your decision." Damian stood to walk out. "Thanks for not freaking out too bad. Saves me a lot of trouble." he went out to the sidewalk and checked his phone. Nick would be out of class soon. Hopefully they could catch him on his walk home. That was, if Osric came with him.

Nick - Nick grabbed his bag and tossed it over his shoulder. AS he walked out of the building his class was in, he thought, as he often did, about his future. He was going to school for engineering, even though that isnt really what he wants to do. He liked building things, so he figured civil engeneering was an okay fit, but what he really wanted to do was perform. Was he wasting his time in school? Or was he being unrealistic in thinking he could make it as a comedian. Nick was not a hundred percent sure where his life was headed, and it worried him. But he had to press on, hoping things would work out. Stopping to mull it over wouldnt do him any good. He walked home at a leisurely pace. He had plenty of time before his taekwondo lesson. He passed all of the usual buildings, lost in thought. As he passed the cafe, he suddenly felt his stomach growl. He broke from his practiced route home and crossed the street and walked into the cafe. As he walked though the door, he noticed someone. It was that guy. He had noticed that man before, always in the background of whatever the situation was. the man didnt look like he noticed nick, so he simply walked past, letting the though go.

Damian - As Nick walked past, damain cursed under his breath. That messed up his plan, now he had to figure out how to swing this situation. he decided to wait and see who came out first, make his decision at that point.

- Osric Relic -

Osric was admittedly impressed by the man's tenacity.  Damian had an assured look and sound tethered to him like few other madmen out there, but what made Osric shudder was the thought that he was not insane or even a dabbler in party magic.  The orb of coffee certainly looked convincing, especially how the heat rose from it.

Looking down at his half-eaten pancakes, he wondered exactly what he should do.  Should he take the man up on his offer after his plate, or should he bolt for the back door and avoid being spotted by this Damian fellow?  It would be a waste of two perfectly good blueberry pancakes and a glass of milk either way should he abandon them to Natalie, so he packed in some bites aided by boysenberry syrup, drained his cup, placed five dollars' worth of check and tip, and rose to his feet.  There, he settled with his decision.  If Damian spoke the truth and knew someone with control over wind or maybe showboat some more of his powers, maybe--and that was a big maybe--there was some truth to his claim.  Paying a word of thanks to Natalie, Osric left the cafe with the bell attached to the door jingling behind him, finding Damian in the front with his coffee, as dictated.

"So," he started, burly arms crossing over his chest, "where's this wind fellow to be found?"

Damian - Damian noticed Osric appear next to him, and an immense wave of relief washed over him, though he tried not to let on. "Right behind us. Seems he got hungry, so hes in the cafe getting some food. Hopefully he just gets something small and walks out with it; we can catch him on the way out if he does. Otherwise we wait. I cant go back in there and do the same thing i just did with you or someone is sure to call the cops." He took another sip of his coffee. Come on nick he thought. I dont know how long osric will stick around.

Nick - Nick stood in line for a few minutes, deciding how to curb his hunger. He decided just to get a muffin and bail, getting home early would let him get a jump on some school work. He took the bag from the cashier, smiled and said thanks, and left. When he walked out the door, he saw the man was still there. Seemingly waiting. There was someone with him this time too. Huh. Nick decided not to get paranoid about it and go home.

Damain - Nick walked path. Show time. he leaned into osric and whispered "There he is. his name is Nick." with that he took off after nick. He caught up and began "Hi, Nick?" once he had his attention, he got right into it. "Hey, im Damian, and this is Osric. Listen, what im about to say is going to sound crazy, but i need you to listen. You arent human. You are from a planet called Akia, same as me and osric. We can control elements. I know you can. That dumpster fiasco was you right? got a little angry and suddenly the bin was gone? Thats because you control the wind. I know you know this about yourself. You are on earth because our planet is at war, and some young were sent here as a precaution. It's time you all knew the truth." Damian took a breath. He needed to show nick his powers. he checked to make sure the coast was clear, and then dropped his coffee. The cup fell, but the lid popped off and the liquid hung in the air. He let it hang a bit longer this time, so both nick and osric could get a good look at it before tossing it off to the side far enough away that no one got hot coffee on them. "Look i know its not my best pitch, but im on the spot here. I didnt expect to see you at the cafe." He waited for nick to say something.

Nick - Nick's brow furrowed. This guy, of all guys, stops him on the street and starts spouting all this crazy stuff? But then, the coffee thing. It was all very confusing. He was just a crazy guy with delusions of an alien race, but then he pulls that off. And how did he know about his powers? and that the dumpster thing was him? There could be some validity to this, because Nick was at least smart enough to know that his wind powers weren't normal. But an alien planet? He had questions. HE pulled out his phone. He had some time. "Alright, if thats all true, i have some questions. One, if not, why not tell me sooner? Two, why shold i believe this?" The second one was mostly to try and catch him off guard.

Damian - "Okay, i suppose thats fair. I never told you sooner because we, we being the akian governmental figures that set all this up and myself, decided it would be better to have as few people know of your powers as possible to mitigate the risk that the Targans discovered that you were sent here and chased after you. Telling you outright sooner would increase the risk. At least now your all old enough to know what it would mean if you spoke of this to anyone but me and the others. As far as why you should believe me, it would explain your abilities. You've seen me manipulate water. Well coffee, but same difference. And because its the truth. You know it is."

Nick - He crossed his arms and exhaled heavily. He did fell it. There was just something about the things damian said, it just made sense to nick. "Okay, so say i believe you. What now?"

Damian - "Good question." He stepped back and faced both boys. "I'm in the process of talking to all of you right now, theres just two more, the fourth, a girl named Vera, and the fifth a guy named Ash. and i need to confirm with Kai. hopefully he'll call soon. Anyway, once ive touched base with all of you, ill have you guys over to my place one day soon, and ill answer all your questions, and we'll decide where to go next." He pulled two more pieces of paper out of his pocket and handed them to Osric and Nick. "Thats my phone number. call me once you thought through all this." That was mostly all he had to say. "Well, thanks for humoring me and listening to all this a second time Osric. Hopefully your more convinced this time. And nick, i get this is a lot. Take whatever time you need and then give me a call. thanks for not freaking out on me. I better go talk to Vera, so ill see you two later."

(Looking forward to it. ;)  Also, sorry for the delay in responding!  I wasn't sure how to proceed with Vera, so I delayed posting for a time.)

The bell to the shop chimed as Vera stepped out of the old brick building.  A paper bag hung from one arm, her book being nestled under the other.  The order that her father placed for her mom's birthday was certainly a mystery to her.  It was all wrapped up when she'd received it, and the shopkeeper chided her when she attempted to pull the ribbon to take a peek.  Ah, well; it wasn't that it really mattered, but Vera did always like to be in the know, especially when it came to surprises and secrets.

The day was still fairly young; her mother would be off to work sometime later in the day, and her little sister wouldn't be home until three in the afternoon.  The rest of the day was still free for Vera to do whatever she pleased, and right now she greatly desired a nice frosty drink.  She thrust her hand into her coat pocket, feeling for her wallet.  Surely she had enough time to stop into the local cafe and order a frappucino.  Perhaps she could get some reading done in the meantime.

Inside the cafe was unusually crowded.  Normally when she arrived there was normally a stray person here and there.  In the corner of the cafe sat three people huddled together, until one--a man older than the other two--rose from his seat and started to bid the other two young men farewell.  Vera ignored them all as she approached the counter, offering the waitress a soft smile before stating,  "I would like a peppermint mocha frappe, please.  Oh, and with whipped cream."

After paying the young lady she snatched her frappe delightedly and made her way over to a lone table, across the way from the trio.  She sipped at her drink as she began to flip through pages of her book, attempting to find the page that she had left off upon.

Little did she know that those group of three had some things very common to herself, and little did she know that a conversation with one of them would change her life forever.  Let alone the fact that they were looking for her at that very moment.

Damian - as he finished talking to Osric and Nick, damian saw Vera walk into the cafe. Man, this really was the place to be today. As he approached the building, two thoughts occured to him. First, the thought of a third cup of coffee in less than an hour made him sudder. Second, going in and sitting down to talk with another kid might look suspicious. He paused on the sidewalk for a moment to consider it. After some short deliberation, he decided to push his luck and go in to speak with vera. What was the worst that could happen? He reentered the cafe and got a muffin, because another cup of coffee so soon would make his heart stop. He took a bite of the fresh muffin and sat across from vera. "Hi. I know you dont know me, but i have something i need to tell you. You are special. I know you know there is something different you. Im too wired to try and ease you into this, so ill just say it. You are from a distant planet called Akia, where we all command an element. You command the wind right? i control water. Here, ill show you." He made the coffee swish around in her cup so she could feel it move, and then made some come out of the top. It threaded the small hole in the lid and swirled it up into a ball. He quickly willed it back into her cup before anyone could see. "And there you have it. What do you say?"

The lilac-haired youth's attention snapped from her book as Damian approached.  He was certainly an interesting-looking fellow, and certainly not someone she had met before.  She listened without interrupting him as he introduced himself, watching as he played with his coffee.  At this Vera's eyes widened and she let out a yelp.  She leaned away in her seat, causing it to tilt over, creating a scene that now everyone would be watching.  "I don't know what you are, but you're a freak, for sure!" Vera cried out, scrambling to her feet.  "What you say is nonsense.  There is no such planet known as Akia.  I've never heard of it in my life, and I'm very much human, thank you."

With that Vera began to scoop up her frappe and walk past Damian, as though to leave.  The truth is . . . deep down, she knew that he was right.  She knew that there was something different about her, what with the way an unexplainable windstorm struck when she was upset, and how she managed to control her kite exactly as she wanted it when her sister and parents had a tremendously hard time wielding theirs.  His words were maddening, however, and she was certainly not going to believe it.  Or at least not yet.

Ashford Quar

A car pulls into the café parking lot with a thirsty driver named Ashford (Ash for short). As he gets out of his car, he notices the wonderful smell of brewing coffee and tea. "Why does this place never get old the more I come here?". As he closes his door, he notices that there is a large crowd inside, which upsetted him. He can already tell that he is going to be waiting for his order for a while, as he is not too patient when it comes to food or drinks. Nevertheless, he heads towards the entrance. He pulls out a pack of electronic cigarettes, and begins to take a few vapes. He then throws away the cigarette in a trash bin next to the doors. "I hope I won't be waiting for hours..." he thinks to himself. He then opens the doors and enters the café.

- Osric Relic -

Osric kept silent as he observed the two men converse, nodding along with Nick's rebuttals and chuckling under his breath as Damian performed his water trick on another individual.  However, it greatly surprised him that Damian knew about Nick being around the dumpster that was all over the news, and the little act with the coffee was better than last time and a little more difficult to discern whether it was magic or trickery.  Perhaps there was some truth to this old codger's tale, or at least more than met the eye.

Pocketing the phone number that Damian handed to him, he watched as the elderly chap followed a pretty girl--probably Vera, he thought--trudged away, halted for a moment in deliberation, climbed the well-travelled steps, and entered the cafe once more.  Osric shook his head, wondering how many people were in an imaginary line waiting for Damian to reveal his big news.

"Nick, right?  I'm sorry you were wrapped up in this.  This kook's probably off his rocker more than he realises, but answer me honestly:  do you really think you have reins on the wind or powers of any kind?  If so, maybe there's more out there than I know, and, well"--he chuckled, scratching his ear--"I'll admit it'll be pretty sweet to have powers, minus the tights.  Too bad I'd be an alien."

Nick - Nick was deep in thought. He was staring at his hands. When Osric commented on Damians sanity, he looked up at him to acknowledge the comment, and then back down at his hands. He looked back up once more, and said "Lets find out." He focused on the palms of his hands and intensely as he could, and then thrust them forward facing away from him. There was an strong gust of wind from behind him, and across the street some mailboxes and trashcans were thrashed against the brick. He felt an emotion he couldnt quite describe wash over him. Pride? Excitement? Power? Maybe none of them, maybe all, but whatever, it felt good. "WOOOOOOO!" after he exclaimed, he looked around for the first time. Cars were stopped, people were staring, and he started to worry. Would they know it was him? He freaked a little bit. He turned to Osric, said "Run", and bolted.

Damian - Damian took another bite of his muffin and looked around at the people staring with an expression on his face that said "I dunno what just happened". He looked over to the line and saw ash. Oh shoot, he almost forgot ash. He stood and walked over to him in line. "Hey, i know you probably dont know me, but i have something you need to hear. Come sit with me once youve got your order." Damian sat down and hoped Ash would come sit. He did, thank christ. "Okay. ive gotta make this fast. Your special, and you know it. So do i. Its because you arent human. you are from a planet called Akia, just like me." He paused and tried to come up with something to demonstrate his powers with, he realized he probably should have gotten a coffee if for no other reason than this one. In the pause, he heard a crash outside and suddenly fear washed over him. He could already tell Nick did something. He cursed under his breath and ran outside with the a lot of the other cafe patrons, and saw the broken mailbox and trashcans all thrown against the wall. He put his head in his hands. Son of a......

Ashford Quar

Ash was slightly spooked by Damian walking up to him. After the man asked Ash to have a seat when Ash gets his tea, Ash tilted his head in confusion. Then one of the café employees handed him his tea with a "have a good day!". Ash took the drink and walks towards Damian's seat, taking a sip of his tea. As he sits, Damian explains to the young man about how Ash is special. The young man raises an eyebrow when Damian mentions that Ash is an alien. "So I'm an alien technically? I don't get it........" Ash raises a hand to make gestures as he speaks. "Look man, I'm just a normal human be.........." Suddenly a swirl of water constricts his hand and then forges a liquid sword. "What's this?!" Ash looks around the room to see if no one is looking, lucky for him they weren't. He then somehow quickly withdrew the water. He quickly understood what was going on. "Okay. Now I understand what you mean."

Suddenly, he heard a crash outside the parking lot. Ash looked outside to see if his car was intact, which it was. He then looks back at a distressed Damian. "Someone you know causing trouble?"

(A thousand apologies if the RP slowed up due to my absence.  Brainstorm ACTIVATE!)

- Osric Relic -

Osric flung his arm in front of his face at the sudden burst of wind, the intensity and power of the burst feeling like twin knives grazing his face.  There was no doubt in his face now.  He was a thorough believer.

Unfortunately, there was more than one eyewitness to Nick's great gust.  Cars pulled over or squealed to a halt in the middle of the road, and dozens popped their heads or entire bodies out of buildings to inspect the damage of the sudden windstorm.  Glancing over to Nick, it seemed that they had the same reaction:  incredulousness and panic.

At Nick's worried utterance before fleeing the scene, Osric tried his best to keep a calm face and quietly step back inside the cafe.  En route, he found Vera heading outside with a grab bag of goodies and some sort of beverage, and he decided to throw a few words of caution in her way so she too would not fly into a bit of panic.

"You might not want to head out here just yet, miss," he said with a mock smile, his face perhaps a little too pale to assure anybody that it was genuine.  "A bit blustery this time of year."

Gesturing a respectable nod to her, he headed inside and held the door fully open for a moment. A few friendly faces, including Natalie's, were surprised to see him come back in, and more than a number of people asked what was going on outside.

"Not to worry, folks.  Just a gust, is all, and a few trashcans were knocked into the road, but I have a feeling its still pretty blustery.  He chuckled lightly thereafter.  "I think I'll get a tea to get rid of the fright I got out there"

A few others laughed lightly as well as the roomful of panicked customers regained their composure, and Osric let the door go to close itself as he headed over to Damian and another interesting man sitting next to him.  He brushed aside Natalie and asked her for a cup of tea with one sugar before sitting too at Damian's wing.

"You, me--we need to talk.  Is he with you?" he asked with a nod in Ashford's direction, unsure of the young man.

(nah man youre cool)

Damian - He looked over at Osric once he sat down next to him. "Glad to see you've come around. I wouldn't say he's with me, but he's like us and i needed to talk to him. " He looked back to ash. "This is Osric. He's like us." He took a bite of his muffin. He sighed. "I take it nick has caused a scene out there?"

"He's caused more than a scene out there," Osric affirmed, keeping his voice low.  "Scared me half to death in the process, too, but people are taking note, and it's only a matter of time before the government tries to take matters into its own hands if they know it's a person.  They'll bring in an investigation . . . or a round-up."

It was known to some in the town that Osric was a conspiracy theorist, seeking out answers to unanswerable questions, but this time he was pretty sure he could be correct.  Elemental powers used by the military would be a step in the most devastating of directions, weaponising the seemingly innocuous without a weapon, and Osric hated the idea.  The clinking of a teacup beside him reminded him that he ordered another beverage, and nodding his thanks to Natalie earned him a smile as she walked off to other patrons.

"Say I do believe we are aliens," he continued, cupping the tea.  "What would happen to us?  Are you gonna whisk us off to protection or this other planet?  What are we gonna say to our families?  Will we have any say-so on staying, and if so could you teach on how to control these powers should I ever get them?  I've a life here, and I'm comfortable with it without all of . . . this."

He sighed, knitting his brow.  Why him?  Why now?  He was starting to get life in order, perhaps getting ready to even ask Natalie out on a date, but these supernatural events decided to rear their heads at a poor moment.

Damian - He took a moment to decide how to respond to Osric's volley of questions. "Well,  As far as what happens next, I want you all together in one place so you can meet each other and  i can fully explain the circumstances. I'll tell you exactly what is happening on our planet, pay attention ash this concerns you as well, and what i think should be the course of action. You can decide what to do with this information. And i will of course mentor you all on your budding powers, if you want to maintain a low profile you'll need to experiment in a controlled environment so you dont do anything stupid like Nick." He peeled the paper off the bottom of his muffin to get another bite. "I suppose i'll just tell you now that i think you should return to Akia, but i cant make you do anything you dont want to do. If you really want to say, you can, but youll have to keep your powers under wraps. Regardless, i'll want you to be fully informed on who you are and where you come from, but your life is yours to do with what you will. "

Nick - Nick ran. He ran until he was clear of the scene he just created. He ducked into an alley once he was far enough away so he could catch his breath. He was already bent over huffing before he noticed Kai. "Oh hey man, uhh, i, uhh" He stuttered "I just needed to catch my breath." He sat down near Kai. "Im Nick. Whats your name?"

Ashford Quar

Ashford leaned back in his chair and listened to the conversation while taking sips of his tea. He understood that he is most definitely an alien. Since when can a human summon a blade made of water? He listened to Damien explain that he believes everyone should return to the planet of Akia, which confused him. "How do we get back to Akia even if we wanted to?" Damien then tells everyone that he wants them to meet up somewhere. "Okay, but when do you want us to meet?"
