A misty white and blue light culminated on the end of the staff as the Mage prepared an ice spell to counter whatever attack the captain might unleash. This particular spell was an ineffective attack as it's power was spread over a wide range, but he had said 'blast you into kingdom come,' so fire spell was a pretty safe bet. Ice wouldn't stand long against fire, it would melt, but it would absorb a lot of energy in doing so, and hopefully that with a bit of water at the end would nullify most of the effects. "I'm collecting a favor for this later, blondie," she informed the swordsman. Well, it was his fault they were all wanted criminals now, so Taria thought it was fair.
