Location: Serenita; an island near the land Arete. In small town called Niphad. An outbreak of ‘Insanity’ has taken a hold of most of the town.

 

Mission: Find a cure, survive, find sanctuary.

In the distant future on the island of Serenita, the tiny snow-covered town of Niphad has been undergoing a change.

 

First, a little history about Niphad. It is a highly technologically-advanced town, despite it’s size, more so than Arete and the tiny Fiiyavic Isle. It’s home to both humans and various types of androids, and they live in peace and harmony in the town.

 

Following the footsteps of a certain closed-off city in the main land of Arete, scientists had began development of a type of serum to revolutionize the health of both humans and androids. While working, they kept the serum in a large, old container for storage as they worked out the kinks on the samples. However, because the container was old and unstable, it erupted with a loud explosion, and the contained serum spilled out and covered everyone on in that room, the liquid getting into their eyes and mouths. The serum infected them, and made every scientist slowly lose their minds after some time. They all became mentally unstable, and suddenly developed strength beyond that of a human, and only sought to infect others with the deadly new sickness that was literal ‘Insanity’.

 

The RP takes place right after the accident happened, and the cast of characters have to find a cure as well as find sanctuary from the town and not get infected by ‘Insanity’.

Even though she had been a big project, and had been worked on for 10 years, the scientist could not perfect everything about her.

Yue is sometimes unable to feel human emotion; unable to feel love, remorse, and sadness. Yue hates the people who made her for not letting her feel the emotions others have. 

 

Yue knew about the explosion just seconds after it happened thanks to her built-in news feed, and knew that is was not a good thing.

After the explosion, more and more insane people have been showing up, and Yue has had to use her "Battle Mode" more often.

BACKSTORY: When Dev was young, he was very introverted by nature. He had his few friends, but never really tried to get new ones. when he was in middle school, he had an android teacher who left a very profound impact on him. the teacher once kept Dev after class to tell him that he thought Dev had real potential as a student, and that he was sure Dev could do whatever he set his mind to. This motivated Devin, and by the time he was in high school, he was taking classes in computer science and robotics to pursue his dream of becoming a robotic scientist, in the hopes of improving the capabilities of androids and advancing society. Late in his high school experience he took up Bo Staff fighting as a way to vent his frustrations and build his confidence. this allowed him to branch out some socially. He continued to pursue his dream in college as he was accepted into the robotics program at the school of his choice. He kept up with his Bo Staff training as well as his studies. He was studying when he got the news of the vat explosion. Pretty soon he got word of the virus spreading across his campus and fled to safety, with hopes to find a cure to the virus to set the advancement of robotics back on the right track.

Before he became the Assassin for hire known Nero Angelo, which is Italian for Black Angel, Kyle Oliver was a boy who grew up with only one thing on his mind; satisfying his endless amount of boredom. Kyle was extremely gifted when it came to any task that was put in front of him to the point that it was clear that he could go on to change the world. However, Kyle was already bored with the tests and jobs that he knew would be coming his way. Everything was predictable. This is where a certain desire began to take place inside of young Kyle's head. A desire to seek out entertainment from the world, but his family were cautious and his tutors were worried about what might happen to Kyle if he went out into the world. Unfortunately, the tutors had made a grave miscalculation. It was not Kyle that needed protecting from the world, it was the world that required protection from Kyle. Without even so much as a glimmer of remorse, Kyle killed the tutors he had felt were holding him back and escaped into the crime underworld. Using his enormous potential for learning, Kyle studied for many years on how to become a killer for hire. Mastering combat, assassination, languages and even masking his own killing intent, Kyle became a stone cold killing machine by the age of 16. BACKSTORY: Jake was born in a wealthy family, and he was a top ranking student in grade school and high school. He then began to gain interest in equine activities and he was able to learn fast. He also trained in sword fighting and martial arts, and thanks to his high intelligence, he was able to finish his training in less than three years. When he got to college, he took four biology classes, and never received anything lower than an "A". At the time of the virus outbreak, he had his own horse, and he got a Master's Degree in biology. When he heard about the outbreak, he has been keeping a close eye on his horse, Celtic, and other people around him. He is more than happy to offer the non-infected shelter in his 10 bedroom mansion until he has managed to find new homes for them, but visitors are closely monitored to make sure no criminals arise. Due to his caring nature, he tries to find ways to help those who are in need. Since the outbreak, Jake has been working with the human/android police with providing shelter for those who are not infected by the disease.

Personality: Icarus i a matter of factually to a fault, and won't hesitate to say what he thinks outloud if he sees it fit. As a machine designed for the battlefield he will analyze and come up with the best situations possible before acting upon it. He is very patient, but will not hesitate to kill off anything he considers a threat, whether it be animal or man, sane or insane.

However he does have a soft side for small children and animals (which he considers "innocent to a fault"), especially for the child he protects, to which he makes sure he is healthy, comforts him, helps him sleep, and cares of as if he were his own. He deeply respects this child, and will consult him through any choices he makes, but will also follow his orders if teh child seems determined enough.

BACKSTORY: Icarus was a unique android designed originally for military purposes. However a rather wealthy family managed to buy him right out of the assembly line thanks to a few pulled strings, bring him all the way over to the island, where he was presented as a gift to their only child, Ezekiel. He became Ezekiel's friend and personal bodyguard, given the name Icarus after the story of the boy who got too close to the sun. He went with him everywhere from school to the park, reassuring his parents that nothing would happen to their only child.

When the explosion and leak occurred, it was no mystery to Icarus who quickly learned about it through the web while he played with the child. The father who worked at building managed to escape the explosion, but the moment he entered the home Icarus could tell his vitals were abnormal and that time would be running short. He waited and prepared, making sure to keep Ezekiel away from his father until one day it happened. The father snapped, murdering and infecting the mother before running to reach Ezekiel, to which Icarus didn't hesitate to kill off. He continued to travel by Ezekiel's side, willing to accomplish the only mission he was ever given: Protect him at all cost.

When he got to college, he took four biology classes, and never received anything lower than an "A". At the time of the virus outbreak, he had his own horse, and he got a Master's Degree in biology. When he heard about the outbreak, he has been keeping a close eye on his horse, Celtic, and other people around him. He is more than happy to offer the non-infected shelter in his 10 bedroom mansion until he has managed to find new homes for them, but visitors are closely monitored to make sure no criminals arise. However he does have a soft side for small children and animals (which he considers "innocent to a fault"), especially for the child he protects, to which he makes sure he is healthy, comforts him, helps him sleep, and cares of as if he were his own. It also wouldn't strike people as odd to see her as an infected individual as well, since she is diagnosed with intermittent explosive disorder. Yet, at the same time, she like action when it arrives even if it's dangerous. She also does not like androids and sees them as sub-par to humans.

BACKSTORY:

Ellen's backstory isn't all that exciting. It wouldn't be to her, anyway. The city she grew up in a city that was very hostile and dangerous. The hostility and violence in the city is what probably caused her disorder.  She liked to call it, " an inescapable city full of monsters and wizards." It was in a closed off city on another piece of land near Serenita. She used to have a childhood friend before drastic changes underwent the city. Let's just say it wasn't so closed off anymore, and her and her friend went their separate ways as a result. She was rather torn by that. Also, she actually used to have cryokinetic powers before they burned out after a heated battle at her old city. Now, she lives alone as a student in Niphad, taking advantage of the peacefulness there as well as trying to find that special someone that she was so desperate to find. She achieved none of those things. In her mind, no love equals being a loser. Anyways, ever since the outbreak she's been well on her way to survival, meeting as many humans as she can. Just not androids. They can fend for themselves for all she cares. What good are they?

Well, usually androids are the type that garner the more human-like appearance and traits mixed with highly advanced AI while robots are...well just that; robots. They are usually emotionless, take orders and have a dumbed down AI and such, but can vary in visual design. Does that make sense?...

lol, Yes, I understand what you mean! However, I feel if you were to do that, I'm not sure it it would fit in the particular place of this RP, you know? Unless they have a very good reason as to why they are that way in the first place, or if it is something they themselves "build" up over time on their own whim. Personality: Art is a very nice girl despite her appearance. She can't stay mad at a person for too long but in her mind, you're all trash. There's a definite battle in her that doesn't let her be mean or harsh to anyone despite her thoughts. She just doesn't see the point in getting angry with someone or getting in an argument when she knows its all going to blow over at some point. Best to just let it go right from the start. That and..friends are a good thing to have even when she disagrees with herself otherwise. Artemis does have her days though, where she shows her true thoughts and emotions. Those are the days you should not interact with her.

BACKSTORY: Artemis doesn't have much of a story. An only child with a loving father. A mother was never in her life and she never bothered to ask, in fear of what the answer might be. She was always one for the arts. You could always find her drawing, or writing, or dancing, anything in that category. Her father also felt the need to give her a bit of an edge, since he won't always be there to protect her given his occupation as inventor. So, as she grew so did her fighting style from self defense to something more. Always close combat, she was never one for long range weapons when her father offered the suggestion of something not so personal. 

 

Today, Artemis still lives with her father in fear of leaving him by himself although she yearns to go find a place for herself and spread her wings.
