There is a HUGE lack of homage towards Final Fantasy in the recent games.

Recommended Posts

There is literally no Final fantasy in BBS aside from Zack, there's no one in Days, DDD had twewy instead...

I want a lot more final fantasy in KH3, the series needs to pay homage to one of it's forefathers. Ever since KH2 there's been literally no Final Fantasy. You know, we could have Bahamut as a summon in KH2

(Yes I know he was originally planned for KH1, no need to remind me) but instead we got

We could have had badass extra bosses like Yiazmat (Although Sephiroth is still awesome)

but wow we get Julius. Yet another Disney character...

Please don't respond with the generic statement

"Kingdom Hearts is owned by Disney, it's meant to be a disney property blah blah blah".

I already know that, no need to repeat the same things that everyone in this community already knows...

This series should pay more respect to the other franchise that influenced it's creation.

Days-75% Kingdom Hearts, 24% Disney, 1% Final Fantasy (Moogles)

BBS- 75% Kingdom Hearts, 23% Disney  2% Final Fantasy (Zack and the moogles)

DDD 75% Kingdom Hearts, 23% Disney, 1% Final Fantasy (moogles),  1% TWEWY.

FF fans, don't tell me you don't fangasm when you see this.

KH1 and KH2 had a much better balance of the properties.

I'd much rather fight Sin or Genesis as side bosses than Julius. No worlds, but from KH3 I want every post game boss to be a Final Fantasy one, there should be at least 3 to make up for the lack of FF in the recent entries.

In DDD I played through all of the same Disney worlds twice, now let's see what the post game boss is

oh it's Julius, yet another disney property..................

The games should be a mix, not an over saturation. Of course there should be more Disney than Final Fantasy, but not to a point where there is literally no final fantasy.

Also, I feel there's a lack of interaction between the 2 sets of properties. I emphasise the word 'MIX' , the series should not have the FF characters on side, and all the disney on it's own away from the FF.

We've seen a fair amount of interaction, for example

Donald and Goofy speak to the HB committee e.g Squall, Cloud and Yuffie.

Merlin is part of the HB committee.

Cloud scenario with Hades in KH1.

Auron's deeds with Hades in KH2.

Zack talking to Hercules and Phil in OC as well as Hades.

The battle of 1000 heartless where we saw Disney characters and FF ones working together,

But the majority of this stuff happens in KH1 and KH2. Hopefully KH3 fixes this because it's seriously frustrating when they could have included so many crazy summons and optional bosses but they always miss the opportunity. KH1 and KH2 brought that perfect balance, especially Kingdom Hearts 1.

All the KH games that came out after KH2 were handheld and mobile games and those games aren't as big and ambitious as the two console games so it never surprise me,but I'm sure KH3 will more then make up for it by including tones of FF characters and cutscenes and hopefully enemies and summons as well

:). Elaborate further if you would be so kind.

Well, when we're first introduced to him in KH1, Cloud was always so isolated from everyone and was obsessed with Sephiroth. However, in the original FFVII, while he was isolated from others at times due to an understandable situation, he still managed to be funny/be snarky periodically.

I think they nailed Cid, just because of the way that he talks like an old man and helps you with your ship, which refers to his obsession with going to space in FFVII.

The point is, I want them to keep the FF character as close to their original personalities as possible while having them be meaningful to the world they're in, so it feels like they're genuinely there for a reason.

Interesting point aha, I guess the lack of ambition would make sense-but how hard is it to throw in 1 or 2 FF characters every now and then?

Ahh, I understand you now. I definitely agree with you there, we need Vincent and Barrett in KH3 though.

Please, no more FF7, we already have almost the entire main cast, FF7 is good but it doesn't deserve the over saturation of characters that are present in KH. We need to be getting more characters that actually represent something, like Cecil, or terra (we already have two Riku's so no one should complain). there should definitely be more FF bosses either Gilgamesh or rubicante( I personally want a KH rendition of battle with the four fiends),

TBH I fail to see why KH HAS to pay homage/more respect to FF. Yes, it originated from that Disney+FF idea. But I don't see how that makes it obligatory to have Final Fantasy everywhere.

For the games having mostly Disney-based worlds, it makes sense to have Disney characters in them. IIRC The FF gang tends to stick around in the KH-original worlds. The obvious exception (that I can think of) is Olympus, so Zack wasn't really too out-of-place there in BBS.

In Days, BBS, and DDD, the only non-Disney worlds we have are... Twilight Town, TWTNW, Land of Departure, Keyblade Graveyard, (technically Mirage Arena), Traverse Town, Radiant Garden, and DI. For the first four worlds I listed, it would make no sense to have FF guys there. For Mirage Arena... there could've been boss fights, but the Unversed bosses, plus Armor of the Master and No Heart, were fine. Granted, you could point out Monstro, who is Disney-based, but tbh I'm a bit biased because his level is nice for farming for MA medals. Having Sin or something instead... would probably be kinda weird lol

For Traverse Town, the HB FF gang had already left, plus they probably wouldn't have gotten themselves stuck in a Sleeping World, so yeah. Besides, having the cast of TWEWY instead was kind of a cool change to have (especially for fans of that game). Granted, we *could* have seen the HB guys in Radiant Garden in BBS, but then people would probably complain about Baby Squall or something. As for DI, I'm pretty sure people wouldn't really want to see Baby DI FF guys.

Sooooo there's all of that.

There's also the point about post game bosses. Yeah, it could've been possible in MA. But while you pointed out Julius a few times, you didn't mention how BBS/FM had *four* original postgame bosses. Days didn't really have a postgame besides Mission Mode, and besides Julius, DDD just had the Secret Portals, but hey, the Secret Portal fights are still technically original (even though in a sense they also aren't because they're story bosses, but I digress, you know what I mean).

As for the Bahamut Summon... Eh, I'll give ya that.

Ummmm so what was the point of this block of text? I honestly don't think that KH3 should have to make up for the "lack of FF". It's been fine as it is (not including other issues lol). I ain't saying that  "Kingdom Hearts is owned by Disney, it's meant to be a disney property blah blah blah", but "KH can do its own stuff".

BUT, as I say all of this, I do think it'd be cool to have and FF world (along with a TWEWY world but that's another story) or fight Gilgamesh or meet new characters.

I do think that having some FF in KH3 is (hopefully probably) a given anyway. We'll probably have the HB crew, hopefully conclude the Sephiroth vs Cloud thing, and maybe have a few new faces like Terra or Lightning, and idk what else.

And now that I'm off track... I'll say... The percentage of FF things in KH3 should probably be the least of our worries.

Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't want any more FF7 characters.  I don't want anymore FF10 characters either for the same reason.  I really wish that SE would give the FFs before 7 more love (as well as 9).  I would love to see Cecil, Kain, Golbez, Locke, Celes, and Zidane (just to name a few)!  Unfortunately, if we get anymore FF characters, they'll probably all be from 7, 8, 10, 12, and 13, since these seem to be the only FF games SE cares about.  Although, SE did remake FF4 twice, as well as give it a sequel, so there may be hope for that one.

I think everyone agrees that Gilgamesh needs to be a boss in some way in KH3, as well as have a FF summon (hopefully Bahamut)

I don't care about who is there, AS LONG as it's a final fantasy character. It's ridiculous how we could have had so many awesome FF inclusions but square would rather include hewey, dewey, louie and uncle scrooge...............................................................

Did I say I wanted FF everywhere? Nope, read my post properly and you'll see that I said "Of course there should be more Disney than Final Fantasy,"  So that statement is kind of silly.

For the games having mostly Disney-based worlds, it makes sense to have Disney characters in them. Of course they should, but an FF side boss or character every once in a while isn't going to kill anyone. IIRC

The FF gang tends to stick around in the KH-original worlds. The obvious exception (that I can think of) is Olympus, so Zack wasn't really too out-of-place there in BBS. Auron in KH2? Cloud in KH1? That demonstrates that Final Fantasy characters don't always have to be in the original worlds to have a presence. Although Cloud did eventually get to HB in the end.

Granted, we *could* have seen the HB guys in Radiant Garden in BBS, but then people would probably complain about Baby Squall or something.  Baby Squall? You know it's really not too difficult for them to just add a few FF characters that just happened to be passing through that world or say they moved to another part of the city so that's why they weren't present in KH2.

As for DI, I'm pretty sure people wouldn't really want to see  Baby DI FF guys.

Sooooo there's all of that. Nah, there's really none of that.

What was the point? The point was to try and educate people like you, who want the series to be oversaturated with Disney to the point where it'll just be a Disney game. This series has 2 forefathers, and the fanbase as well as the games should pay homage and respect to both of them. If it wasn't for Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts wouldn't be as good as it is today. Show some appreciation.

BUT, as I say all of this, I do think it'd be cool to have and FF world (along with a TWEWY world but that's another story) or fight Gilgamesh or meet new characters.

The percentage of FF things in KH3 should probably be the least of our worries.  This is a ludicrous statement, you can literally say this for half of the arguments against the series. "Oh this should be the least of worries, it's not important." Yes it is, the small things count and if you keep that attitude up the series will eventually stray from it's roots.

They will probably put more in. Didn't Nomura once say that it would be a surprise which FF character makes it in?

Lmao it's going to be lightning since everyone in Square practically loves her. A lot of them have said they absolutely love lightning (I think it was Toriyama and Yoshinori Kitase, can't remember). Lightning was a model for louie vuitton too, she's basically confirmed. But I don't just want a single one, I'd like at least 2-3, plus 1 FF summon and 1 FF post game boss (besides Sephiroth).

Okay, I get it. And I agree; we definitely need more FF characters (I'd like characters from other SE games, but I'm not holding my breath on that). I mean, there are so few npcs in KH anyway, so there might as well be FF characters filling that void. Although, I do like Hewey, Dewey, Louie, and Uncle Scrooge. But we definitely don't need anymore Disney characters in non-Disney worlds (except for Max and Pete's family, just because it'd be hilarious to see Sora's reaction to them)I really would like to see another secret FF boss besides Sephiroth. Kefka and Gilgamesh are my two choices, but anyone would do. As for summons, like I said, we definitely need at least one. It shouldn't be that hard SE; you have a huge choice of summons from the FF games. I meant to say this before, but I totally agree with you about excluding Bahamut from KH2, but having stupid Chicken Little instead (its ten times worse too since the movie he's from is so awful and despised, by me included)

I love Chicken Little! But the summon was for promoting the movie................. Very poor choice, he's cute though.

Lol , Yiazmat would be a pain in the ass to beat assuming he has a ton of HP . I agree that FF characters are lacking after KH2 and I really hope to see more newer characters(hoping for noctis , lightning ,ramza ) and interaction between one another . Would definitely agree on coliseum adding more ff secret bosses and side plots ( Gilgamesh quest to obtain keyblades for collection , Zack needs to return for KH3 to see how far he's grown assuming he's not dead , etc ..)

Kingdom Hearts is owned by Disney henceforth being a primarily Disney intellectual-property orientated narrative. Square Enix creates the original characters and narrative of the series. As far as Final Fantasy contributions go, they were heavy in the core games, the ones that were lacking were the side games, but again, they were the side games. Let Nomura experiment in the side games. If anything, I'm glad we got Julius for KH3D. It means we can get more Disney inspired secret bosses.

Don't worry, there'll be more than enough Final Fantasy characters for Kingdom Hearts III.
