The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted April 13, 2016 Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, I wanted to discuss an important topic regarding Kingdom Hearts III, and it concerns the team currently working on the game, which is the Osaka Team. Now, I know that this certain team hasn't had the best reputation when it comes to the Kingdom Hearts games, I understand that, but I'd like you to hear me out, as I want to share something with you all! Look, I understand how you all feel about Osaka team given how they've handled the portable entries in the Kingdom Hearts series! While I understand the complaint of slow, floaty combos and non-staggering enemy AI, I really think that we should support them with Kingdom Hearts III! After all, they're helping create the finale of the Xehanort Saga, and I'm pretty sure that they know how much is at stake here! They will obviously want to do their very best in order to craft an amazing game in Kingdom Hearts III! I'm not saying we shouldn't point out their flaws, no, not at all, but we shouldn't be so hard on them either! At least they've worked on the Kingdom Hearts games! Personally, I love all the KH games equally, and as such, I love Osaka's work too, even if they have their flaws, ya know? I guess what I'm trying to say here is that we should support them and encourage them, because I'm sure that they see how people react to their work, via through Youtube or through other Social Media. They've probably seen the complaints, and they're probably trying their best to make KHIII a masterpiece in terms of the gameplay! And with the added guidance that is soon to be provided to them by the KH crew that was working on FFXV, I think it's safe to say that their combined efforts will polish KHIII into a gameplay powerhouse! I know that we all want Kingdom Hearts III to be the perfect Kingdom Hearts game, but we must all keep in mind that the game will obviously not meet every single one of our expectations, and as such, we should be supportive of the Osaka Team! I've no doubt that all these years have been spent hard at work, polishing the gameplay mechanics and making sure everything clicks, ya know? Remember, what we saw in the trailers isn't the final product, so I'm sure things are being worked on to make the final product something grandiose! And plus, we'll have 0.2 to test the waters of how Kingdom Hearts III will be! We should be hyped up! But yeah, like I said, I'm not saying the Osaka Team is perfect, but hey, we should give 'em our support, ya know? Honestly, no matter how the game turns out, I'll love it to death no matter what! 17 Soravids, Hero of Winds, advfox and 14 others reacted to this
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted April 13, 2016 Osaka made my favorite gameplay in the KH series (BBS and its command deck). DDD's gameplay seems floaty from what I hear, but I don't have any complaints when it comes to the team. 3 The Transcendent Key, Power Jusho and ladydualwieldin reacted to this
MythrilMagician 6,963 Posted April 13, 2016 The Osaka team is great. I absolutely love their work. It's too bad they don't get the credit they deserve. 8 Soravids, The Transcendent Key, Power Jusho and 5 others reacted to this

RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted April 13, 2016 I'm straight with them or anybody who makes a Kingdom Hearts game. To be honest I didn't catch the flaws that other folks mention about the Osaka team. I really love the battle system from BBS and DDD. It's convenient to me. 5 atheist123, Exiblade7, ladydualwieldin and 2 others reacted to this
Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted April 13, 2016 After seeing the Jump Festa trailer last year, it's given me more hope in the Osaka Team that's for sure. KH3 looks to be improving. Peace! 3 Exiblade7, The Transcendent Key and CriticalAssension reacted to this
Movies798 1,358 Posted April 13, 2016 I honestly don't care about the gameplays in either games in general. I honestly like the Osaka Team's work in Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance. The command deck's in Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance are my favorite gameplays in the Kingdom Hearts series, plus I only thing I care about is the damn story. Tetsuya Nomura better give me a good KH3 story after the "Reconnected Kingdom Hearts" build up from Birth by Sleep, Re:Coded, and Dream Drop Distance. If Kingdom Hearts 3 delivers a decent, good, and satisfying storyline than I'm all good with a crappy/floaty gameplay, sorry KH fans but that's how I'am, I rather have a good game story over gameplay anyday. I will support the Osaka Team to make a fun fast paced gameplay, HOWEVER is Tetsuya Nomura what I'm worry about. Not speaking for everyone here but Nomura you better give ME a good story to end the Xehanort Saga once and for all so I can look forward to your new Kingdom Hearts saga in the future! 2 Lights_Guardian and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted April 13, 2016 I thought the KH3 gameplay we've been given looks fantastic. I see now problem with Osaka team working on it. 2 The Transcendent Key and Felixx reacted to this
dabestgamer 62 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) The only things I hope for in KH3 that they didn't do well in BBS and DDD is avoid the following: - some command that was either one of the only truly viable commands (Surge) or obsoleted every other method of combat (Balloon) - too much superarmor on bosses (they should stagger more) I don't think bosses should be easily loopable, but I don't think they should retaliate so randomly that you could never complete, say.... an Ars Arcanum. In general, I'd like if they could avoid having something be a go-to option for dealing with bosses, and actually require the player to learn the fight to do reasonably well. But that's a lot to ask. That said, I prefer the Command List over the Command Deck and I'm glad they seem to be sticking with that. For all its flashiness, Command Decks limit you to eight commands. Now, I'm not saying I didn't enjoy BBS or DDD, because I did, but I felt that the Command List in KH1 and KH2 at least allowed me to mix up my gameplay, and no single combat option (attacking or magic) obsoleted the others in most situations (that I can think of off-hand). I'd like to see KH3 do well, but I'm not necessarily going to hold my breath. Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted April 13, 2016 Seriously this is a first for me, I've never heard any of these complaints before, nor have I ever had them myself. The combos and physics seem fine to me. This is why I don't get Smash players sometimes, they put more focus into finesse instead of just trying to have a good time. The portable games are fine, I don't get what you're all fussing over, I see no reason to be worried about this team's abilities. It'll be a good game, nay, a great game, end of story. 3 atheist123, Movies798 and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
atheist123 583 Posted April 13, 2016 Osaka did some things better than the original KH team so I'm not worried at all. I don't like copy-paste gameplay so the fact that they experimented on the handheld entries means that hopefully KH3 will have an interesting style unlike the games we have seen before. 2 ladydualwieldin and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Zerrick 43 Posted April 13, 2016 To be honest I have always considered them to be kingdom hearts "B" team which is the only reason I'm disappointed that they are doing a numbered title and not just any, but fricken kingdom hearts 3. I don't know, it's just that the Tokyo team has always felt to me like the creative team that tests what it can do, while Osaka just does whatever Nomura tells them; "I want this op mechanic here"(looking at you dodge roll trio/ flowmotion) "I want this world to do this this and this,...do whatever you want to fill in the space" *does nothing* they should stick to the handhelds, but who knows maybe they actually learned something while doing the remixes, and this might sound weird, but I don't want to enjoy FF15's gameplay significantly more than KH3's because then for the rest of my life I'm going to wish that the teams were reversed. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Kalebninja 188 Posted April 13, 2016 I'll hold my judgement but i do not trust them with KH 3 and I know without a doubt that If the original team had been given this game then it would be better than what we'll get. I did not enjoy either games they've made as much as the numbered titles. They've put too much faith in a handheld developer and that's what worries me. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
thatkingdomheartsguy 153 Posted April 13, 2016 So I see a bunch of people here saying that they were never "aware" of the issues in BBS and DDD, so to clear some things up: these issues that people refer too usually come from the most experienced players, especially those who have played through the games several times. As such, we are far more experienced and knowledgeable of the battle system. The point is that even though you are given so many commands and attack options, through a bunch of experience, people find that none of these commands are useful except for chosen few. In addition, those who has experience would most likely be playing on the most challenging difficulties, where the game seemingly even encourages you to spam one command/ability to win (for example, Mysterious Figure fight in BBS; it's unbelievably difficult/near impossible to win that fight w/o surges). So obviously newbies wouldn't see this, but hopefully you can see that if an issue like that persists and arrives in KH3, it could be a serious problem, since I'd imagine many people are planning to play through KH3 multiple times when it inevitably comes out. "Supporting Osaka Team" may be a nice gesture, but it won't help them resolve potential issues that can damage our KH3 experience. Having seen their work, I'm honestly not that optimistic; people are doing all they can to reduce the potential of them screwing up KH3. At this point, I don't think moral support will make much of a difference; something like a shoutout to them to make them pay attention to the issues of the handhelds are what we need. Like I said: I'm not optimistic about KH3. But hey, I'm sorta a pessimist so who knows, the game might just surprise all of us. For now though, I'm keeping my hopes down, just in case I get disappointed; it won't be as big of a blow to my emotions. *inb4 fanboys flame me for "hating" on KH3* *I'm not hating, I just want the best for one of the most anticipated games for me ever* 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Komali 594 Posted April 13, 2016 Are you serious? BBS and DDD have been developed under limited hardware power. These issues you mentioned will never be in a console game, especially in the current gen. It's not because of the Osaka team, so I don't understand the problem. ^^ 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
GroovingOnUp 163 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) At least they're showing improvements. Remember that 3 hit air combo he does in the Hercules section of the e3 trailer and now compare to the air combo he does at end of the recent trailer in Yensid's tower. That's a big improvement if i do say so myself and it's old footage too so who knows how much they've improved since then. Guest Posted April 13, 2016 Glad to see some positivity about the Osaka team. At the end of the day, the original team will be collaborating with the Osaka team to finalise Kingdom Hearts III so we shouldn't be too concerned!

Veemon 1,540 Posted April 13, 2016 I'm not saying we shouldn't point out their flaws, no, not at all, but we shouldn't be so hard on them either! At least they've worked on the Kingdom Hearts games! They've probably seen the complaints, and they're probably trying their best to make KHIII a masterpiece in terms of the gameplay! Amen! I 100% agree with you! These game developers are working their behinds off while they are getting so many complaints. It just ain't fair, am I right? So like you just mentioned, they have flaws. All of us do, it's just natural. And as you also said, why only look at the negatives? I believe there are so many misguided fans of game companies nowadays that forget how much time these games take to build from the foundation. We should make a list of all the great and positive things about the Osaka Team rather than a list of the negatives! Personally, I could wait for KHIII! Let them take their time, hide a bunch of info from us, and wait to announce the release date! I would rather see a nice, clean game than a rushed, sloppy one. And hey, yeah, they actually worked on the Kingdom Hearts games (Unlike most of us! ). They know what they're doing. The Osaka Team has MY support! Rock on! 2 Movies798 and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
ladydualwieldin 212 Posted April 13, 2016 Echoing the sentiment that I love the Osaka team! BBS is my favorite game, DDD is great as well, and tbh I was never a big fan of the combat in KH1 and KH2, so I was very glad to hear they're handling KH3. What we've seen of KH3 so far looks amazing, so I don't doubt that the team's only managed to improve on their previous successes. we shall see in the 2.8! 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
KeybladeLordCheeseCurd 1,542 Posted April 13, 2016 Some people always seem to focus on the negatives of the Osaka team instead of the positives. Look, they have flaws. Everything has flaws. Just because Osaka didn't have any of the mechanics of KH1 and KH2 in the KH games they made doesn't make them horribly bad. They haven't made a KH game before BBS, and they certainly haven't made a console KH game, so of course the mechanics of the console games aren't gonna be in BBS or DDD. Osaka probably didn't know about those mechanics. Now they're working on KH3, one of the most highly anticipated games in the series, and I'm certain that they are trying their best to make it great. I have faith in them, even after knowing their flaws. And besides, the original KH team[or what's left of it]will probably come in and help them after FFXV releases. Sorry if this sounds poorly written by the way 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
