{Saric}

Near the core of the Galaxy, an Imperial Tie Defender screamed across the eternal night of space. Its pilot, the Chiss named Saric, was simultaneously piloting his craft while he reviewed what information the ISB had dug up about the Shadow Galactic. Sightings of lightsaber wielding leaders concerned Saric. If the Force was with him, destroying them would cut off the head of the Shadow Galactic, leaving the body free to be safely absorbed by the Imperial Remnant.

Wanting to consider the intelligence for a bit, Saric shut down his data pad and keyed in the coordinance for his next step in this mission and triggered his ship's hyperdrive.

{Lady Calthin}

Lady Calthin stood on the bridge of a Star Destroyer, looking out at the next planet the Shadow Galactic was planning to subjugate. This normally would have excited her, with the prospect of battle making her feel more alive. But, it alway happened the same way. She went down, slaughtered some soldiers and a few would be heroes, and the will of the people was broken.

"No challenge." The Dark Lady hissed.

Where were the blasted Jedi?

{Jynn Venas}

Above the skies of D'Qar, a Jedi Starfighter comes to a halt from lightspeed. It's pilot, a Jedi Knight, Jynn, and his astromech droid, R2-D2, begins to pierce the planet's atmosphere. "So this is the Resistance's base? It looks kinda barren." R2 turns his head towards Jynn and lets out a few chirps, confirming. As Jynn steers the fighter closer to the ground, R2 aims his new master's attention to a landing area with many X-Wing fighters in dormant. "Well you seem to know your way around, so I'll follow your lead." Jynn comments. As the landing gear touches the ground, R2 pops out of the fighter. Jynn climbs out and follows the droid. "Artoo, are you sure everyone won't mind my presence?"

"Entering the planet's atmosphere. Estimated landing in five to ten minutes." Midnah spoke as she kept her hand on the wheel of the ship. Now most people wouldn't even think of letting her drive due to the fact she had no eyes, but her Miraluka blood and abilities proved to allow her to be independent enough to drive a ship without crashing it into something. The planet of Cateraine, where sources indicated that a lone person among the endless deserts knew where the Jedi Master Rey resided. Midnah had been tasked to search for that person, though she wouldn't be surprised if others from the rebellion were also tasked with such. Regardless so far it appeared she was the first one from the rebellion itself to arrive. She just hoped that this clue had not been tipped off to the Shadow Galactic as well. The small ship slowly landed among some reminamts of what used to be grand machines of war, somewhat blending. Midnah climbed out, feeling the heat already getting to her as she landed on the sand. "I've arrived at the planet. I will begin my search. I will leave my signal on for any other rebellion members to pick up on." Midnah spoke to the device. For someone of her kind who used Force Sight for everything, locating someone among here should be child's play. But even she knew never to underestimate anything. "No organics...yet." Midnah said as she pulled a cloak over her to protect her from the sun, and pulled up the hood over her head. She began to walk across the ruins, focusing on finding...anything that was alive, for starters.

{Thom Drasor}

"Probably not." Thom rumbled as he stepped out from behind a stack of crates where he had been watching Jynn.

He had his blaster carbine in hand, but was putting it away in its sheath on his back.

"They did let me in."

With his hands free, the big Mandalorian pushed back his hood and took of his helmet. His pointed ears wiggled for a moment, enjoying the freedom from the helmet. He then stuck it under his arm and offered his other hand to Jynn.

"Thom Drasor." Thom introduced himself. "Mercenary turned resistance fighter."

Jynn stopped and looked towards Thom's direction, immediately reading the Mandalorian's movement, despite him hiding behind the crates. Jynn grabs his lightsaber, but does not ignite it. Once Thom revealed himself, Jynn puts his weapon away. "A Mandalorian huh? The Resistance is lucky to have managed to recruit one." he thought to himself. When Thom introduces himself and offers Jynn his hand, Jynn proceeds to offer his hand as well in a handshake. "Jynn Venas, Jedi Knight and former apprentice of Luke Skywalker." R2 stops and turns his head to Thom. "And this is R2-D2." R2 nods with his cylinder body and then continues moving. Jynn then started to follow R2 again. "So what made you want to join the Resistance, Thom?"

{Thom Drasor}

Thom shrugged.

"I have some personal grievances with the current looming threat and figured I could use some back up." He said in a somewhat jovial tone.

He turned and waved for Jynn to follow him. He went back behind the crate he had been behind, revealing a makeshift lawn chair set up. He offered the chair to Jynn and sat down on a crate.

"How about you?" Thom asked. "You here for general Jedi reasons, or do you have a personal stake in this?"

Jynn stopped. He looks at R2. "Artoo, go ahead without me. Let them know I'm joining the Resistance." R2 obliged and went on ahead. The Jedi then turned towards Thom. Jynn takes a seat. "I want to do the thing that my former master would not allow me to do during the First Order's reign, fight and keep peace in the galaxy." Jynn sighs. "My master also gave me the task to help start a new Jedi Order, but I don't know if I can." Jynn grabs his lightsaber and stares at it. "But at the same time, I feel that I should do it." He puts the lightsaber back on his belt. Jynn looks at the ground. "My master has faith in me, I cannot let him down." Jynn gets up. "Sorry, I'm rambling."

The planet itself was like the trashcan of this particular solar system, or maybe more than that. Ships of all sizes, machinery from different eras, rusting and falling apart as only the insides, protected from most elements, could possibly contain any spare parts that could have any type of value in the market. Planets like these served as a last resort for people to make some money while scouring for parts...others simply had no choice besides this one. The market itself was full of people. Not necessarily the best kind, but it was a start. None were force sensitive either...so far. "This might take longer than I expected." Midnah sighed as she began to walk around, doing the basic and asking everyone she saw fit if they knew anyone by the name of Rey or someone who could know of someone by that name. If only she could just read minds. It'd be lots easier!

"Cultural expectations can be a killer." Thom replied with a chuckle. "But don't worry too much. Mandalorians and Jedi are more alike then people think. We've survived nearly being wiped out before. Jedi can too."

Putting down his helmet, Thom banged his fist on the side of the crate he was sitting on, popping it open on that side. He reached in and pulled out two water bottles. He opened one with one hand and offered the other to Jynn.

"So, while I'm enjoying this 'get to know you' conversation, that's not why either of us is here." He said before taking a pull from his water bottle. "How up to date are you on The Shadow Galactic?"

{Jynn Venas}

Although Jynn is enjoying Thom's company, he does not forget what they are here for. He takes the bottle from Thom and takes a quick drink. He then crosses his arms. "Well, before I made a jump to lightspeed, I did see a Star Destroyer. It looked like it was pointing towards us, but I don't know. I sensed a very dark presence in the cruiser. It was unpleasant." Jynn looked up towards the main building. "We should probably alert the Resistance about the Star Destroyer." Jynn looks back towards Thom. He gestures for Thom to follow him to the base. "Shall we?"

Despite being a market, it wasn't the prettiest place in the galaxy. The merchants sold spare parts, some that worked, some that looked suspiciously broken and unfitting. Others sold odd looking items that made one question what their actual use was. Not shy to strangers, the merchants wasted no time to try and sale their wares. "You sure you haven't heard of someone by the name of Rey? Any of you?" Midnah asked to the group of scavengers. They shook their heads and shooed Midnah off, walking away to continue their day. Midnah held her head and shook it slightly. "This is so not my day." Midnah sighed in disbelief. She was about to move on to ask someone else, when a merchant caught her attention. "You're looking for someone?" A merchant asked. Midnah turned, narrowing down the source of the voice, walking over to the man's stand. "Yes. Do you know someone with the name of Rey?" Midnah asked. The merchant shook his head. "Don't know anyone with that name. However there is this one girl who's been here for a LONG time...Aelia. Young and a bit of a loner, quiet too. Been here pretty long for someone her age too. She might know something." The merchant admitted. Finally, a lead! "Where can I find this girl?" "Last I saw her she was heading to pick out from the remaining AT-ATs, just up north. They're all grouped together. Can't miss them." The merchant. "Thank you very much." Midnah said as she hurried to follow this lead. Maybe Aelia had the answers she needed.

Following the directions given, Midnah walked over to the wasted group of At-Ats. They were fallen apart, and looked like eerie ghosts of what they once used to be. She hummed, concentrating as she walked closer to the remains. Out of the nothingness, she sensed only one aura in particular simply laying down against one of the feet of the At-Ats. "(Oh dear let this be the lead.)" Midnah thought with a sigh. It wasn't that she didn't like her job. She would do anything to stop the new order...just that there was so much sand. Sliding down on one of the dunes, she reached the foot of the At-At, and quickly jumped to reach the figure. The closer she got the more features the aura gave off. It was a girl, whose force was stronger than most. A padawan, maybe? Midnah walked over to the resting girl, leaning over and glancing down at her. "Are you the one who knows Rey?"

{Thom Drasor}

Thom's eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of the star destroyer. He then glanced up at the sky, looking like he was making calculations.

"Doubt they'll know we're still here." He said thoughtfully. "But Finn's gonna want to know, for sure."

The big Mandalorian scooped up his helmet as he stood up and put it on.

"Come on, the boss should be in the control room."

{Lady Calthin}

Lady Calthin stalked through the busy main hanger of her star destroyer as the Shadow Galactic troops prepared for the initial landing. This was a back water mining world, so resistance was sure to be light, much to Calthin's annoyance. One more boring little world to bring under the Shadow Galactic's heel.

The Dark Lady stopped suddenly as a view a night sky flashed in her mind. She had seen it before. Alway that sky.

"Captain!" She yelled.

A Stormtrooper appeared at her elbow.

"M'lady?" He asked.

"Prepare a squad and my shuttle." The Dark Lady ordered. "You will be in charge of the ground assault until I return."

"Yes ma'am!" The captain acknowledged, then ran to fulfill the volatile force user's orders.

Fuming, Lady Calthin stomped towards her shuttle. She could picture the land scape and the stars. She could find the world.

Midnah didn't flinch. In fact she sort of expected it. "So you do know her. You are the right contact." Midnah hummed, raising one hand. "Please don't be alarmed. I don't mean any harm. My name is Midnah, from the planet of Alpheridies from the Abron System. I am here with the Rebellion, looking for you, actually. A source told the Rebellion that there was someone who knew Master Rey personally, and could possibly know where she is. The source was correct. That person is you, isn't it?" Midnah asked as she lowered her hand again. "I can already see you're force sensitive as it is. Were you Rey's padawan, maybe? Regardless. The Rebellion would like to greet you, and ask you about Rey. We actually hoped that maybe you would have an idea of where she is. Better of us to find her than the enemy." Midnah explain.

{Darth Mortem}

On the bridge of a Super Star Destroyer, the leader of the Shadow Galactic looks out the viewing area. An officer approaches behind him slowly. "Lord Mortem, we have found the backwater mining planet, Lady Calthin is leading the raid." Mortem's chair turns towards the officer. "Good. Everything is going as expected." Mortem pauses. "But, I now have a bit of a change of plans. I believe I have found numerous Resistance strongholds in the area. As well as..... some Jedi." Mortem stands up from his seat. The officer nods. "So, we shall change our target?" Mortem paid no attention to the question. He walks up to a hologram transmitter. "Clear the room, I wish to discuss our new plan with my apprentice." The officer bows. "Yes my lord.." After the officer leaves, Mortem activates the transmitter in attempt to reach Calthin.

When Jynn and Thom reached the control room, Jynn looked around the room. Everything was high-tech in here than it was outside. He spots R2 talking with a man in the center of the room. R2 then turns his head to Jynn. The man does the same.

"(So there were two.)" Midnah thought as she gave the girl a warm and reassuring smile. "The rebellion hopes that you would join us in the fight against the order. As a padawn of the Jedi master Ray, we would be honored to have you. Maybe you can also help us to locate master Ray as well. Right now Jedi are scarce and all." Midnah said casually as she rubbed the back of her head. "You wouldn't have to stay in this planet any longer. I can take you to the headquarters of the resistance and you can fight alongside us. The planet has much more greenery than this one does, that's for sure." Midnah added as she offered her hand. "So, what do you say? Want to join the rebellion? I won't force you...but I can assure you it is much better than hanging around this place."

The man walked up to Jynn. "So you're also a Force user as well, huh? Pardon me, my name is Finn. Yours?" Finn offered Jynn a handshake, to what Jynn happily accepted. "Jynn Venas." The Jedi pauses. "What do you mean by "other" Force user?" Finn puts his hand to his side. "We sent someone named Midnah, who is strong in the force, to look for my friend, Rey. She is a Jedi Master." Jynn raises both of his eybrows in amazement. Another force user? A Jedi? "So, Midnah's...... like a Jedi or something?" Finn shakes his head. "Well, no, not really." Jynn puts his hand up to his chin and thinks to himself. "Not a Jedi huh?" The room goes silent, until Finn ends the silence. "Well, I'm glad we can use your help, Jynn." Jynn nods. He continues to think to himself. He then comes up with an idea. "If she is truly force-sensitive as he says, maybe taking on an apprentice will determine whether or not I have the confidence to continue a new generation of Jedi."

A small hand tugged on Darth Mortem's cloth. There was Kim, standing at the Dark Lord's side. The boy was a silent boy, truthfully only speaking to those he considered his friends or caretakers. Before he approached Mortem, he had waved to the captain that was leaving."Master Mortem..." He uttered silently, looking up at the Dark Lord with a silver eye. "Is Lady Calthin leaving again?" The boy had a red lightsaber holstered at his hip.

The dark lord looked down to Kim. "Yes my boy. She has been sent to raid a backwater planet. However, I sense Jedi in our midst." Mortem looks back to the transmitter. "I plan to send someone to deal with the strongest one first, the one located in the Resistance stronghold, D'Qar. He is a great threat to the Galactic. He has Ben trained by Luke Skywalker when he was at a very young, giving him an edge over Izan and Calthin." Mortem looks down at Kim again. "However, Izan may stand a better chance against him. But he must still use caution when approaching the Jedi." Mortem closes his eyes. "As for the other one, Calthin's sister, we need not to worry about her, yet. She has been abandoned by her master, Rey. She is not a big threat." Mortem pauses. "But, if we don't make haste, the Force will call the two Jedi together, and if that transpires, the young Jedi will grow stronger." Mortem places his hand on Kim's shoulder. "Summon Izan hither. He has some dangerous work to do." He thinks to himself. "Perhaps I should send Calthin to turn the other Force- sensitive user to the dark side, but she must make haste."
