A Roxas X Xion love story (I couldn't help myself)

I sat down on the edge of the clocktower. The sunset seemed to glow brighter today. A bit of melted ice cream trickled down my wrist, but I wouldn't start until she got here.

Appearing almost silently behind me, Xion laughed. "Zoning out again, Roxas?"

"Ahh!" I jumped, startled, and then laughed lightly. "You got me," I agreed, grinning. I handed her one of the two sea-salt ice cream bars. She smiled, and pulled down her hood.

"I wonder where Axel is..." She murmered after a few minutes. I didn't like the mention of Axel--he thought Xion meant as much to him as to me. And she might actually end up believing that.

"Yeah," I grumbled. "Let's have a pity party for Axel, who at least has a good chance of staying alive." Xion frowned, lowering her ice cream bar.

"Oh, Roxas," She sighed. "You know I didn't mean it like that." She pulled down my hood, her face a few inches from mine. "I know what you're thinking." My cheeks turned bright red. "And I like Axel more."

Thank you ^^

My jaw dropped automatically. I couldn't think of any response. I stammered, "B-but--thought--maybe--" I finally got the sense to snap my mouth shut instead of sitting here babbling.

I swallowed, my throat feeling abnormally tight. She grinned slightly. "--on missions. I mean, come on, Roxas, you want all the glory!" She laughed. "Axel at least gives me a shot. And I usually do great with my chance." She winked, and I exhaled loudly.

My chest seemed to unconstrict, and I smiled weakly. "Yeah," I finished my stick, and stared out at the sunset. Beside me, Xion pulled up her hood, and yanked on the cords, tightening it, shading her face. "Xion?" I looked over, almost about to pull her hood down myself.

"Axel's coming," She muttered under her breath. I sighed internally--of course.

He leaned against the tower. "Hey," He smirked. "You all started without me!"

"We didn't think you were coming, Axel," Xion giggled. He plopped down next to her, instead of me, as he usually did. I bit my lip to keep from scowling. Suddenly, he spun to Xion, face shifting to become serious.

He sighed. "Orders are orders, you all." And he pushed her off of the side of the clocktower.

Thanks y'all (:

I felt frozen in place. It was like time slowed down. Xion's arms flailed, reaching out for something. I started to reach over the edge, but Axel pulled me back. "No, Roxas,"

"Axel!" I yelled, writhing, and my eyes widened as she reached the bottom. Instead of crashing, as she should have, she sank right through the ground. I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. I stared, but nothing was left where she fell.

I yanked away from Axel, and ran.

I reached the spot where she'd fallen. I touched the pavement, but it was cool. I frowned, and something... odd happened. I felt water on my cheeks, but it wasn't raining. I stood up shakily, and glared at Axel. "You pushed her!"

"Now, now, Roxas," He waved his hands. "I had to! Orders are orders, Roxas."

"Who gave you the orders!?" I yelled, summoning my Keyblade. He made a 'calm down' gesture with his hands.

"Who relays all of the orders? Saix's mission for me today was to eliminate Xion, without fighting." My grip tightened on my Keyblade, and I raised it. Axel was going to pay for that.

Thanks (:

The chapters are usually kind of short, though, because most of them I write on iPhone xD I'll try to make them longer, though ^^

Axel's eyes widened in surprise. He wouldn't lift his gaze from my Keyblade. "R-Roxas, I'm sorry. They were o-orders. I had to!"

My knuckles turned white I was gripping my Keyblade so tightly. I gritted my teeth. "No you didn't!" I yelled, more of the water droplets sliding down my cheeks. At the moment, I really didn't care that they seemed to be appearing from thin air. "You could have lied!"

He glared, staring me in the eye. His voice shifted from shaky to firm. "Roxas, you know that I couldn't have. Saix would have made sure. The second she turned up, do you know what they'd do to me? How much trouble I'd be in?"

"You're a traitor!" I snapped. "Xion was--I mean, she is your friend! How could you do something like that!?" Axel sighed, and summoned his chakrams.

"You just don't understand, do you Roxas?" He looked up, glaring at me. "My orders were to either take out you or Xion without a fight."

I lowered my Keyblade for a second. "Wait, what? Your mission was to--"

He took a deep breath, and I realized he'd been expecting this reaction. Axel lunged, and I lifted my Keyblade to parry. He was faster, expecting this.

Pain flashed through my head. "Ahh..." I moaned, and I started to collapse, but Axel caught me. The edges of my vision went fuzzy, then blackened. The wall of darkness started to creep in. I wanted to scream, thrash, and fight, but I couldn't seem to move.

Faintly, I heard Axel whisper something. In the haze, I couldn't be sure, but I thought he said, "I'm sorry, Roxas,"

Thank you ^^ It really does mean a lot

My head pounded, like someone was blaring rock music. I sat up slowly and rubbed my head. "Ahh..." I moaned in pain. Flashbacks of Xion falling, the cold pavement, and Axel's mission made me bolt out of bed. Was it just a bad dream?

My throbbing head made me think not.

I threw open the door and sprinted down the hall, crashing head-first into someone. I didn't bother saying sorry, immediately starting back down the hall, trying to reach Xion's room. Whoever it was caught my arm and jerked lightly. "Roxas, you shouldn't see--"

"Axel!" I exclaimed. I tried to keep a glare off of my face. It could've been a dream, after all. Why was I overreacting so much? I probably made up the entire thing. More of the odd water droplets cascaded down my cheeks. Where were these things coming from?

I stammered, desperately hoping for him to say I was crazy or something. Desperately hoping for him to laugh to whole thing off, and Xion come up behind him, laughing about my overreaction over a dream, too. "A-Axel, is Xion okay--"

The edgy expression on his face made me cut off. "Roxas... Roxas, I'm sorry." I felt frozen in place, and the spot where my heart should be tightened.

I yanked my arm away from him, and started running. "Roxas!" He yelled. "Roxas, stop! Calm down! Roxas!"

I ignored him, and shoved past anyone in my way, feeling their eyes on me. I ran straight into Saix. He apparently was well aware of what I was doing. I backed up a step, glaring. I couldn't find any words to express to him what he'd done.

Instead, I created a dark corridor, and darted through.

Thanks, y'all ^^

Saix shouted something behind me, but I ignored him. If Xion wasn't here and Axel was a traitor, then I wanted nothing to do with this place. I'd go find her myself.

I looked around, a little surprised at where I'd ended up. I sighed slightly. Well, I usually came here, so it shouldn't be a surprise I made myself a portal to Twilight Town.

I looked up--I was directly underneath the clocktower, the spot where Xion had fallen and disappeared a few feet from me. I winced at the thought.

Someone came running up to me, dressed in an organization cloak, hood up so I couldn't see their face. I hadn't actually expected them to send someone after me. Fighting them would just slow me down. I hadn't searched the rest of Twilight Town yet...

I tried to skirt around them, but their hood fell back, and my jaw dropped.

Suddenly, my head pounded. Almost like someone was dropping a bag of needles on my head repeatedly. "Oh," I groaned, reaching up weakly. I refused to collapse this time.

Pictures flashed in my mind, but not of the boy in red and red-haired girl from before. Instead, it was one of Xion smiling at me, up on the clocktower, holding a bar of sea-salt ice cream.

"Roxas," She grinned. "You shouldn't worry about me. I'm alright--I promise."

"W-Where are you!?" I stammered, lunging towards her image. It evaportated like mist, and my face fell, and I struggled to cling to the little bits of smoke drifting away.

"No, Roxas. I can't tell you that." Now everything was an empty black as she spoke. I guessed I'd ruined the image of her smiling, and was furious with myself for it. "All I can tell you for now it goodbye."

"WAIT!" I screamed, but the voice was gone. The black-cloaked man walked over. I wanted no one that was part of that place of horror near me. I flinched away.

"Roxas," He said softly. "Don't worry. I know where she is."

I didn't think the detail was all too great xD But thanks you guys

I stared at Axel for a second, weighing my lack of trust in him against the possibility of finding Xion. Common sense ended up not winning. Suspiciously I asked, "How do you know for sure?" My face hardened. "Why should I trust you after that? I shouldn't even be TALKING to you anymore!"

He sighed, his face remorseful. "Roxas, I didn't want to do it. I didn't have much of a choice." Before I could protest, he raised his hands. "Hear me out, here, Roxas. She's alive--when she fell, I made a dark corridor right before she hit the ground. She's in another world, being smart enough to lay low for a while."

I hesitated, not sure whether to believe him or not. "Alright," I agreed carefully. "Prove it. Take me to her now."

Axel bit his lip. "Roxas, you know that I can't do that." I folded my arms, my nails digging into my skin in fury.

"Then I don't believe you!" I exploded. "I don't trust you! You're the one who pushed her off of the edge, and stopped me from helping her! You don't understand!" More of those wet things on my cheeks. That was starting to get on my nerves.

I turned an ran, hearing him yell behind me. I had an entire world to search for her without his interferance. Axel didn't need to "help" me anymore than he already had.

I sprinted towards the old mansion--the most likely place to look for her if she was laying low, and the least likely place for Axel to follow me. That last thought made me run faster than I knew I could. I never wanted to see him again.

Someone stepped in front of me, and arm raised, blocking my path. I glanced up, glaring in fury. They donned an Organization cloak, but I knew they weren't a member immediately.

They were just a little smaller than me, looking calm, but still ready for a fight. Their face was shaded, but I could make out the faint shimmer of lip gloss.

"No," The girl's voice said. "Xion and you have seperate paths. Seperate DESTINIES." I clenched my fists furiously.

"That's none of your buissiness!" I yelled angrily. I didn't even know who this girl was--she shouldn't know much about us, either.

"Roxas," She warned, voice a little higher. "Xion and you shouldn't have even met. Your path may change because of her. And now that she exists, she has a destiny, too--one you are NOT part of. You can't interfere. She will soon know what's going on. She'll soon know her part."

I glared at the girl. "What do you know about it!? What do you know about us--I mean, about me and Xion!? Who ARE you!?"

She smiled softly. "All in good time, Roxas." I gritted my teeth.

"Out of my way," I grumbled, and started around her.

A Keyblade appeared in her grip, and I paused for a moment. "No," She insisted firmly. "You can't beat someone like me in a fight, Roxas."

I could feel myself shaking I was so angry. "I can beat anyone who gets in my way! What about you!? Don't you have some destiny to fulfill!?"

"Yes," She nodded. "My destiny is to save someone. Two people, actually. And for me to do that, I need to keep the two of you apart. Xion needs to learn what's going on. You're not ready yet."

"Not. Ready. Yet." I drew my Keyblade. "If you don't move I'll--"

"Fight me?" She taunted. "Well, I'm not letting you in there." I raised up my Keyblade.

I blinked, admittedly a little surprised. She was really willing to fight me? My face hardened. "Get out of my way!" I snapped angrily. "I don't care about any of this destiny stuff. Let me figure out what it is myself! Get out of my way!" I demanded, stomping my foot like a little kid.

She smiled slightly. "You can't Roxas. You wouldn't know how to find that path yourself. Xion would mess it up for you, and you would mess it up for her. Therefore, I can't let you two interfere with each other."

I sighed. "Seriously, what do you WANT? To-to keep us apart?" My eyes narrowed. "Who put you up to this? You aren't a member of the Organization."

The girl pulled back her hood. Blonde hair tumbled out, which she pulled over one shoulder. I stared into her blue eyes, looking for any fear. I came up with nothing. Now that I was looking closer, she resembled Xion. My eyes widened--she looked like her almost a little TOO much.

"Who..." I started almost inaudibly, and then shook my head. "Who are you?" My breath caught in my throat. "Are-are you Xion's Somebody?" I couldn't breathe. If this girl was her Somebody, she'd try to make Xion join her again. She'd try to take her away.

"No!" I yelled. "You can't force her to help you!"

The girl smiled faintly. "I'm not Xion's Somebody, Roxas. In fact," She shrugged, and carefully brushed her Keyblade. "I've got practically nothing to do with her. That's all you need to know."

I could hardly believe her. They looked like they could be siblings, besides their hair color. "What's your name?" Was the only question of all the ones bouncing around in my mind I could manage to voice.

Her fake smile turned real, growing a little, and her blue eyes crinkled. "My name's Namin
