Film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - First Official Teaser Trailer

I honestly don't have much more to say about it... Just that I'm excited to see this once it's out. The shot of the Star Destroyer and the Death Star... It's just like one of the movies from the original trilogy. The new girl looks cool, too. The Star Wars hype isn't slowing down at all.

The new girl, eh. I don't really like her for my first impressions but who knows. Maybe she's awesome.

I agree. She is giving me an "angsty" vibe.

Give Felicity Jones a chance. This was just a sneak preview. I'm more excited for this than Episode VIII (as it's its own thing).

If it's bad it wouldn't be her fault. But the fault of the writers who wrote the character.

Of course, but I'm going to hold my judgement till I've seen interviews about her character. Her supposed "angst" may be plot orientated.

This movie is essentially Star Wars' version of one of those heist movies where a rag tag group of different individuals have to put up with each other in order to reach a specific objective. At least that's what it feels like it is.

Still, it looks great so far. Glad to see they brought O'Reilly back for Mon Montha and Felicity Jones' character reminds me of Rei already.

Umm, that's what I mean. I wasn't talking about the actress, I was talking about the character.

Let's come up with clever video game names.

Death Star: The Heist

Grand Theft Death Star Plans

Rebel Mafia II

Felicity Jones: Raiders of the Death Star Plans

Side note: I don't know what was up with Mark Hamill in the endslate advert for the Star Wars: Force For Change thing, but he's either falling asleep, pissed off, or just does not give a shit about what is going on xD:

It's too soon to say that she's poorly written. We've just got a teaser trailer, and it looks like every scene with her speaking came from the beginning of the movie (I doubt the mission assignment would come too late in the movie). Characters can develop a lot over the course of one movie, especially in Star Wars. Luke wasn't exactly the cool heroic guy that we all know and love back at the beginning of A New Hope. I do think she looked cool in the trailer, but I feel it's too early to judge her personality off of a couple lines that likely come in early.

I'm definitely looking forward to this. I love Star Wars. Yet, I find my excitement for my movies greatly diminished. 11-year-old pre-internet me would have lost it if I had known a new trilogy and then some were coming out. (Yes, I was excited for and loved Episode I as a kid. Many of my friends back then were the same.) I enjoyed Episode 7, but it didn't have quite the same effect on me as it probably would have on 11-year old me.

Guess it's because I'm a grown up now. Seriously, being a grown up sucks. And the fact I hung out in Star Wars fan communities when I was in my teen years. You'll never find a more wretched hive of anger and pessimism.
