Voice actor Quinton Flynn claims he has not started recording for Kingdom Hearts III

Not to worry, voice overs are usually the last element in a game's production cycle.

In a recent tweet, Axel/Lea voice actor Quinton Flynn claims that he has not begun recording for Kingdom Hearts III. This comes just a few months after other voice actors in the series, namely Jim Cummings (Pete, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh) and Bill Farmer (Goofy), claim they have finished their recording process, or at least some of it. You can view the tweet made by Quinton Flynn below:

Flynn confirms that he is referencing Kingdom Hearts III and not Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue in another tweet:

With the information given to us by these voice actors, how far along do you believe Kingdom Hearts III is? Feel free to discuss in the comments!

Seems to me that most voice actors are called in one at a time as needed when their scenes are ready, and they likely aren't told that much about the game beyond the scenes they record. So it would make sense if Flynn doesn't know that much about KH3's development progress since he hasn't been brought in to voice yet. His scenes for Lea/Axel will likely be ready for him to voice later on for one reason or another.

I am not surprised he has not started. I think they are getting the lesser roles out of the way first and then move on to the larger ones with voice acting.

Which could explains why the voice actor for pooh claims to have finished voice acting

Precisely. Plus, Pete might not have a humongous role so they got that out of the way along with getting other smaller roles out of the way, thus, the path is clear for recording the major roles. Also, Bill Farmer has also finished his stuff a while ago so it makes you wonder just how big a role Sora and the other lights will have. Also, what does this mean for Master Xehanort with no Leonard Nimoy? Edited by KingdomHearts3

I read the same thing a while back. Can't exactly remember who it was being interviewed, but he said that they kinda just brought him and and gave him his lines, and didn't explain much of the story. Maybe it was Bill Farmer?

Hmm, well, it could be as many members here have said!  It could be that different voice actors are called in at different times to voice certain scenes that are already done, so that they can be able to dub said scenes and get them into the game!  If that's the case, then maybe Nomura's waiting to get all the other voice actors lines done before bringing in the main guns!

Gahhh, I hope Quinton updates us if he starts recording his KHIII lines!!! X_X

Thank you for the news, Master Toom and khdude as well! :3
