Joey_XIII 135 Posted March 20, 2016 We saw in a E3 2015 KH3 trailer that Sora has a new outfit and Keyblade. Here are my thoughts how is he going obtain it. Quick recap: In order to stop Xehanort we need 7 Guardians of Light. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Terra, Ventus, Aqua and Mickey + Lea (Will replace Terra I think.) So, again. In order to wake Ventus up we need his heart which is in Sora. And to get to Ventus we need Aqua. In Kingdom Hearts 1, during the storm Sora obtains the Keyblade because Riku's heart is too dark and because of Ventus' heart in Sora. I think, in KH3 once we find Ventus, they will have to extract Ventus' heart from Sora and that will result Sora losing his power to wield a Keyblade. Aqua (because she is a Master now) and Yen Sid will make Sora to wield Keyblade again but not Kingdom Key but the new one in KH3 trailer and getting this new outfit. Well, that's it. What are your thoughts about how Sora will get his new outfit? 1 The Key of the Brain reacted to this
Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted March 20, 2016 they will have to extract Ventus' heart from Sora and that will result Sora losing his power to wield a Keyblade actually if Sora loses Ven's heart it won't take away his ability to wield a Keyblade. i think Nomura has said this before in an interview. i could see him getting his new outfit as a way to show his growth through training or whatever he did in between DDD and KH3. maybe it's also got something to do with the Keyblade transformations and Yen Sid gives it to him because he feels it'll aid Sora better on the journey or whatever, sort of like how the Drive forms were tied to his KH2 outfit. maybe the Keyblade transformations are somehow tied to his new one? 1 KHUndertaleFan25 reacted to this
Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted March 20, 2016 Why does everybody keep ignoring all of the promotional art of him with both his outfit AND the Kingdom Key? Seriously, just cause you see him with a different Keyblade in each shot of the trailer doesn't mean that he's stuck with it and lost his old one. Anyway, if anything they likely just had different Keyblades equipped (there was more than one) just to show off the various transformations and attacks you could use with them. They didn't have the Kingdom Key equipped either because they didn't have anything in mind for it at the time or the abilities the other Keyblades had were a lot flashier and helped fit the mood of the trailer best. Also, removing Ven will NOT take away Sora's ability to wield the Keyblade. Everyone seems to forget that there was a period of time where Sora and Ven where separated, i.e. end of KH1, KH CoM, and KH 358/2 Days. Sora's body became Roxas but still carried Ven's heart inside it, which made Roxas look like Ventus, and Sora was able to use his Keyblade no problem. Ven's only role in Sora's Keyblade wielding abilities is in allowing Sora to wield a second Keyblade, Ven's Keyblade in a different form. If Ven had any further involvement, it would probably only go as far as a method to help Sora gain temporary possession of Riku's Keyblade on Destiny Islands, but Nomura seems to be heavily indicating that it was just Sora's desire to save his friend from the Darkness that allowed the Keyblade to be passed rather than Ven's involvement, so even then Ven probably didn't contribute to anything of that nature until Sora and Roxas where reunited. So if Ven ever does become fully restored in KH3, all that would do is take away Sora's ability to use Synch Blade, Sora had already proven himself worthy of the Keyblade on his own in KH1, so it's his to keep. So odds are, that was just one of many optional Keyblades you can use to try out various special moves, because Nomura confirmed that each Keyblade has different abilities and actions they can perform, so they just needed a good all-around Keyblade to show off some good ones. Sora is not "loosing" the Kingdom Key in this game. 5 KHUndertaleFan25, Elfdemon_, TheEightMelodies and 2 others reacted to this

Oli 1,679 Posted March 20, 2016 To make it simple: Sora's original keyblade was actually Riku's and he was able to weild it because Ven's heart is inside him BUT during the events at Hollow Bastion he was proved worthy and the Keyblade chose him. So even after waking Ven, Sora should be able to weild his Keyblade because it's his Keyblade, not Ven's or Riku's. 3 KHUndertaleFan25, Elfdemon_ and ladydualwieldin reacted to this

I know it's stupid to judge that Kingdom Key will not be in KH3 so soon and just from 2 trailers. I know it's stupid to judge that Kingdom Key will not be in KH3 so soon and just from 2 trailer's. Even IF it were to happen, yeah I doubt it would be that soon in the game. But that's a huge IF, I highly doubt we're going to go that route since it's been done to death too many times, with Sora in KH1, Xion in Days, and Data Sora in Coded. At this point it would be about as redundant as trying to tempt Riku into joining the dark side AGAIN. From a storytelling perspective, they could explore so many more interesting and creative ideas than just rehashing Sora loosing the Kingdom Key or Riku being tempted by the Dark. Gameplay wise, it just wouldn't make sense to have the Kingdom Key's wielder as the main character and NOT have the Kingdom Key available for most of the game. 1 Joey_XIII reacted to this

Elfdemon_ 695 Posted March 21, 2016 Sora still has the Kingdom Key and always will. It is the most iconic thing out of the entire series and one of the most iconic weapons in gaming. I highly doubt they will get rid of it, I don't see why they would too. Sora didn't gain the ability to wield a Keyblade from Riku, he gained it from Ventus. When Ventus and Sora's hearts touched, Sora gained the ability to wield a Keyblade. When Sora and Riku's hearts touched on Destiny Islands, Sora just simply got Riku's Keyblade, the Kingdom Key. The Kingdom Key passed down to Sora because it saw Sora as more worthy of it's ownership, because Riku's heart was becoming clouded with darkness and jealousy. The Kingdom Key belongs to Sora. There is absolutely no reason to why it would disappear from Sora's grasp or go to another wielder. It's Sora's Keyblade. It's not Ventus', it's not Roxas', it's not Xion's. It's his. The Keyblade that we have been seeing lately is most likely just a Keychain, just like the other Keyblade we see in the trailers as well. I really don't understand why people think that this is Sora's new base form of his Keyblade. I never got that impression at all. I just got the impression that it is simply a Keychain that we receive. actually if Sora loses Ven's heart it won't take away his ability to wield a Keyblade. i think Nomura has said this before in an interview. i could see him getting his new outfit as a way to show his growth through training or whatever he did in between DDD and KH3. maybe it's also got something to do with the Keyblade transformations and Yen Sid gives it to him because he feels it'll aid Sora better on the journey or whatever, sort of like how the Drive forms were tied to his KH2 outfit. maybe the Keyblade transformations are somehow tied to his new one? No, it would not get rid of Sora's ability to wield a Keyblade. The reason Sora can wield a Keyblade is not because Ventus' heart is inside of him. It's because when his heart and Ventus hearts touched, Ventus subconsciously gave Sora the ability to wield a Keyblade. He did not give him his ability to wield a Keyblade, he just gave him an ability to wield a Keyblade. When Ventus is awakened, they will both still have the ability to wield a Keyblade. Nah, the Keyblade he's going to get in Mt. Olympus is obviously the other Keyblade we see Sora wielding in the KH3 trailers. The one that transforms into the Pegasus Carriage. 1 KHUndertaleFan25 reacted to this

Elfdemon_ 695 Posted March 21, 2016 There can be two reasons. 1. We can change Sora's outfit 2. That video was already created before. Two reasons for what? I'm not really sure what you're saying. Also, no we can't change Sora's costume. There has been no confirmation on that, and it is just simply not likely at all. We see Sora in his KH2 costume sometimes because that's near the beginning of the game. I'm guessing that Sora gets a new costume sometime 1/4 of the way into the game. What video. I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Please give me some context.

Yes he does have connections with Ventus' heart, among others, but he hasn't inherited anything from them. http://www.khinsider.com/news/Full-Nomura-Interview-20-KH-Mysteries-Solved-1366 Yes, Sora was always planned to wield a Keyblade. It is completely impossible though to spawn a Keyblade without being bequeathed. To get the ability to wield a Keyblade, you must be bequeathed. There's no other way to get that ability. The bequeathing ceremony can happen a few ways. The first and primary way is that a Keyblade Master, or a Keyblade wielder as powerful and skilled as a Keyblade Master, willingly passes down the power to wield a Keyblade to someone by having them hold the hilt of their Keyblade. This can also happen accidentally if someone touches the hilt of your Keyblade, but this can only happen if you are subconsciously willing to pass down that power. Another way that someone can be bequeathed is if a Keyblade wielder of a strong heart's heart comes in contact with someone else's heart. This person doesn't necessarily have to be as powerful or as skilled as a Keyblade Master. For example, how Sora and Ven's hearts pretty much merged together. The bequeathing doesn't get rid of the person's ability to wield a Keyblade, it just simply gives someone else the power to wield a Keyblade as well. It does not give them a Keyblade though, just the power to wield one. This is why the Kingdom Key was able to pass on to Sora. It was because Sora already had the power to wield a Keyblade. Remember though, the Kingdom Key and the Kingdom Key D are unique Keyblades that choose their wielders. Only one of each of them exist and the owner of it is supposed to protect the realm that corresponds to the Kingdom Key. I'm not sure if any other Keyblade would've been able to pass on to Sora like that. Who knows though. Ventus has nothing to do with sora being able to wield a keyblade. The only thing Ventus made possible for Sora is being able to dual wield, that's it. Ventus has everything to do with Sora being able to wield a Keyblade. When Sora and Ventus' hearts merged, Sora was given the ability to wield a Keyblade from Ventus subconsciously. This is another way that a Keyblade can be bequeathed. As for the moment on Destiny Islands with Riku, that just simply gave Sora a Keyblade. The Kingdom Key passed down to Sora. Ventus gave Sora the ability to wield a Keyblade and that moment on Destiny Islands with Riku gave Sora an actual Keyblade. Also, yeah, having two hearts inside of himself at once gives him the ability to dual wield.

Elfdemon_ 695 Posted March 21, 2016 just out of curiosity, where does Axel and his keyblade fit into this? We don't quite know yet. He says "I came here to learn how to wield one", not "I came here to learn how to spawn one" or something like that, which most likely means that he did not have the ability to wield one before he arrived, so I think either Yen Sid or Mickey most likely bequeathed him and then he went into training with Yen Sid or something to try and get it to materialize. But yeah, as of currently, we don't know much about it. It was sort of meant to be a cliffhanger for the next game.
