What Do You Look For In A Guy/Girl?

Recommended Posts

Okay, now this is a roundtable of celebrities you're suggesting at this point!  That's badass! x3

But yeah, I get what you're saying!  The thing I really hate, and for those who are reading this, please don't take this the wrong way, because I'm not coupling every single religious person together, so yeah, don't hate me!  Anyways, where was I?  Oh yeah!  The thing I really hate is that there are people that go to church and they claim to be good and righteous and whatnot, and when they step outside church, they're hypocrites who live their lives seeking to make other people feel bad, and there are people who behave way differently on the outside than they do on church, ya know?  That's what I hate!  People pretending to be what they're not!  Mom has always said that I should go to church only if I feel it in my hear to, ya know?  Obviously, if my heart isn't in it, then that'd be disrespectful, ya know?  I'm just not a big fan of churches!  But, like I mentioned earlier, I am faithful to God and acknowledge his existence, and I know that he's a being that is mighty and can perform great miracles!  I prefer having a personal relationship with Him, because I don't have to go to a church to ask forgiveness.  All I have to do is talk with Him by myself, in the privacy of my own home!  He knows who I am, and what I do, and He knows how I live my life.  I have no regrets with the way I live, because I'm an honest person who lives life to the fullest and have faith in Him, ya know?

So yeah!  Fun conversation, eh? :3

Totally, dude. I went to this church once, I won't give the name of it for privacy reasons, and they did everything they could to make me feel unwelcome. I tried to be friendly and sociable, which is really hard for me to do, and they all looked at me like I was a wad of gum under their shoe. I kept trying to figure out what I did wrong, and finally someone told me that I had to wear a dress in order to go to that church. I didn't go back. They obviously cared more about outer appearances than they did about sharing Jesus with any newcomer. That's what I don't like about religion. No offence to anyone who likes religion, this is just my thoughts so please don't take it as fact, but I feel like it's all an outward show. You do all of these good deeds and it's all, "Oh, look at me. I'm such a good Christian." I really get more out of reading the Bible and pursuing God on my own, than I did at many of the churches I've been to.

I'm enjoying this conversation. It's nice to have someone who shares the same view on religion.  :)

Oh wow, that's messed up!  You see, that's something that really ticks me off!  It shouldn't matter the way you look or dress, if you want to seek God, God will welcome you, regardless of what you wear!  But since organized religion has their set of rules, they think that people not abiding by their dress code are strange, or, like in your case, they give you the glaring eye!  It's not fair, ya know?  And it's prejudice!  They don't know you, so why would they judge you for your appearance? Even if they knew you, they have no right to judge you, cuz judgment belongs only to God, ya know?  But welp, not everyone shares our mindset, and those that hear about our mindset most often think something's messed up with us, ya know?  They can think what they want, but I believe in God, and I have faith in him, and I don't care what I'm wearing, ya know? :)

I'm enjoying this conversation too!  Haha, looks like we do have the same views on religion, huh? :3

Again, to all others reading this, please don't be offended.  I'm not saying all you religious types are the same, cuz obviously, not everyone is the same, but, well, you get what I mean! :)

Churches nowadays remind me of the Pharisees back in Jesus's time. They put on a show for everyone, dressed in the proper attire, and pretty much paraded all of their good deeds. Jesus got onto them for that, and I think He shakes His head at the people that do this today. It's like they didn't read the New Testament at all. Jesus dined and associated Himself with the people that the Pharisees often looked down on, and spread love to those who needed it most. It fills me with a righteous anger when people go around claiming to do the work of God when they aren't even trying to follow Jesus's example. Church without God is just a place where people worship their own pride.

It's rare to have someone who shares our views, so this is really a treat.  :3

See?  Well that goes to show you that God loves everyone, no matter what!  When Jesus walked the Earth, he gave hope and spread his word to people of all kinds! It's like you said, people that don't dress the same way the religious people do are the ones that God often seeks the most, ya know?  As sad as it is to admit, what you say about church is true!  Without God, what's the use of going to church if the people going there just do it to boost their egos and rub it on people's faces!  It's messed up, ya know?  Like, in terms of myself, whenever there's a person who seems downtrodden or someone who's going through a situation, I offer them words of advice and encouragement, and seeing the people's smiles after I talk to them really makes me feel good about myself, ya know?  Because God put these people in my path so I could help them!  And that doesn't require a specific dress code!  You just follow your heart, and that's something God appreciates the most! :3

Indeed, a treat it is, madam! *Sips cup of tea and pours you some as well.* ^_^

Exactly my point! You don't need to go to a certain building or dress a certain way to follow God's will. Buildings and clothes are all outward things, and God doesn't care about the outward things. He cares about what's inside. He seeks those that call out to Him in earnest, and answers their prayers. He mends their broken hearts, and dries their tears because they invited Him to. God loves us so much, and He takes joy in people desperately seeking Him. That's why I do my own personal devotions. I feel like seeking Him out on my own, and Him responding does a world of difference from showing up at a building once a week. Not to put all church goers down, but I've grown more doing my own thing than I did going to church.

Why thank you, kind sir! *mixes some honey and lemon into the tea*  :)

Well, in the end, that's our way of seeing things when it comes to religion, ya know?  It's like this dude in a video on Youtube said once: "Salvation is individual.  The way you guarantee your salvation is having a personal, one to one relationship with God."  And I believe that's true!  Because in the end, our salvation is indeed individual, and our relationship and strengthened bond with God allows us to get closer to salvation, ya know?  But yeah, it's interesting how things work when it comes to religion, huh? Well I say, let 'em work how they want to!  I follow and love God the way I want, ya know? :D

You are quite welcome! *Bows courteously.* :)

Actually, I kinda have a few other things I might be looking for. :3

Someone who likes to approach others more than being approached. I'm probably not going to find too many girls like that on the internet or anything, but the thing is, I'm not all that brilliant when it comes to speaking up first. I'm shy, pretty shy. If I EVER approach anybody, I'm really worried that they will think I want something from them, whether it be a simple handshake or a huge favor. It's hard not to be paranoid around girls especially! (No offense, girls.)

A girl who likes to hear about others. I have this imaginary scrapbook in my mind that I'm dying to share with someone. And I'm getting tired of telling my dreams and mini adventures to my family. They already know all that. If there's a girl who likes to hear stories, I have plenty to share if you want to send me a PM! :)

Veemon Fan. Veemon fan, Veemon fan, Veemon fan. Any single girl who fits THIS description, I will hug them a lot more than if it were another girl who wasn't. Dead. Serious.

Didn't want to intimidate anybody, just wanted to throw that out there. (And if I ended up repeating anything, please disregard that. Thanks.)

Rock on!

So true. The phrase "live and let live" comes to mind. Let them live their personal lives with God as they want to, and we can do the same. It's God's job to handle other people, not ours. All we have to do is pray for them if we feel convicted to do so, and focus on our own relationship with him. And, of course, help others should the need arise. :)

*sips tea* I love earl gray tea.  :3

Haha, dude, like I said, don't fear!  You're just expressing what you look for in a woman, and that's just fine!  The fact you want someone to talk to and tell your stories and have fun is awesome!  And being a Veemon fan is also a plus, too! :D

But... Doh, what's the use in arguing? You always seem to stay positive! I am quite surprised a girl hasn't confronted you yet. You're a chillaxed guy. xD Well, I just hope to meet the right girl some day. It'd be super wonderful to meet her during my Spring Break! <3 All I gotta do is pray and make an effort.

Ain't that the truth. We live in such a fast paced world, that all we really see is the bad. "The economy is down!" "Unemployment rates are up!" "ISIS is attacking again!" It's so easy to get caught up in the negative, and the positive gets washed away. Sometimes you need to stop and smell the roses, and remember who is in charge of it all. I like to unglue myself from my phone when it rains, and just watch the raindrops fall to the ground. I find it soothing and refreshing, but that may be because it rarely rains where I live.  :)

Cheers! *clinks cup*  xD

Ah yes.  I mean, when you think about it, the world is seriously screwed up nowadays, but this has been something that has been building out from decades past, ya know?  It's just that now things are taking a turn for the worse!  But, we carry on and try to live our lives to the best of our abilities, and enjoy everything that happens in life, ya know?  I agree, one has to admire nature and creation in and of itself!  Reveling in these things is truly a treat!  And then there's also video games, anime, movies, comics, manga, books and the like to suck us into a world of wonderment! :D

(Well, I've reached my Quota already...how I did not miss that. xD)

What do I look for in a Girl or a Guy? ...hmm...

Considering I literally have no idea how dating works, how relationships work and how Girls/Women work in general, yet I've somehow had two relationships in my life, I...don't have much of a handle on these things. However, I shall try to elaborate and explain:

Honesty and being true to their personality are certainly big things I look for. With the latter, I mean, no "Fake People" that we see FAR too often in this day and age. :/ And honesty, well, that's obvious. :P

Fun-loving and optimistic. Seriously. There's enough negativity and misery in this world, no need for more of it to seep into something that's supposed to be filled with love. :3 That and having fun is just...well, fun. xD (Redundant much, redundant?)

Common interests, such as Kingdom Hearts. Of course. :P

Open and willing, as in willing to talk to me about anything as I would be for them, plus having little inhibitions so, that way, anything could happen, but in a very, very good way. X3 Plus, it allows for interesting, and "interesting" conversation.

Commitment. You cheat and you're dead to me.

Not sure about my stance with religious people in relationships. :/ They're awesome as friends, but in relationships, it goes downhill in two seconds.

Looks wise...they can be any ethnicity honestly, being as my previous and longest lasting girlfriend was of African-American decent, loved her to bits. <3 *ahem* And, hey, not too much to ask they be pretty, but that doesn't mean that absolutely HAVE to be Models or something, just...nice~ (And yes, have good "assets". ;)xD Thanks, Shinji. xD)

Well, that's my piece.... anyoneupforadate? xD

Honestly can't type a full response since I'm on the phone but in short:

I look for everything in a guy. From personality to looks. Honestly both are equally important to me, I'd like a guy to keeping himself looking good as well as having a great personality. I'd love to have a few common interests but to be honest if a guy and me hook up then they don't have to basically be another me when it comes to interests. I'll get into what he is into and he'll get into what I'm into. It's more fun that way.

Indeed, I think that's it's wonderful how this video game series has managed to touch the hearts of so many!  That is definitely one of the strongest points Kingdom Hearts earns for itself, ya know?  It just draws people in like a magnet! :D

Ooh, wow, that sounds like a great summer indeed!  Did your final 7 days include going through strange events and then realizing that you were in a fake town and you are really the Nobody of someone else?  If so, I am sorry!  Diz was cruel to you! D:

This has been a fun and interesting thread to read. It started off as 'Forum Lounge', sorta blurred around 'Random' and 'Video Games' afterwards lololol

Haha, well, I'm glad this thread has been able to give you entertainment!  And well, I'm just happy that people here just talk about what they want with their honest feelings, ya know?  And well hey, in the end, this thread is meant to unify people, ya know? :D  So I'm glad you've found it to your enjoyment! ^_^

Haha, awesome dude, your requirements for your dream girl/guy are great!  You're just looking for an honest person you can talk to about anything, and I do mean ANYTHING! ;)  And I agree, it's awesome to have a partner who's fun loving and shares common interests, ya know?  It serves to strengthen the bond between partners even more, am I right? :D  But yeah, being honest to oneself and being loyal are also chief things to do, especially if one wants to retain a relationship for many, many years!  (Lol, and yes, assets are quite the plus, if you ask me! X3  I mean, don't get me wrong, I'll accept a girl the way she is, but ya know, a guy's gotta have preferences, ya know?  I like big assets! xD)

Ooh, you're also right about the person being a ray of sunshine!  Because with all the negativity in the world, we could sure use some nice rays of warm sunshine to brighten up our days, ya know? :D

Ah, that's quite the simple and clean response! (Har har, see what I did there? X3)  But yeah, that's a pretty good mindset to have when looking for someone! Because obviously, taking care of oneself is of the utmost priority, cuz being anti-hygienic is a big no no! X_X  And it's always good to have differences, because it's as you said, it gives you the opportunity to get into what he's into, and for him to get into what you're into, ya know?  That's definitely a good mindset you've got there! :D

I know right? Kingdom Hearts has one of the most soul-touching story lines I have ever come across. I dare anyone to pay attention to the story without tearing up even just a little. I bawled when I reached the ending of the first game, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Haha, no, none of that happened. Although, I almost wished it did when school started. I went through withdrawal pains for like a month! -.-

Oh yeah, definitely!  The series has so many goosebump inducing moments, and tear-jerkers as well!  And something I love about the series is that none of the games have had an actual "happy" ending, ya know?  I mean, don't get me wrong, happy endings are great, but tragic and sad endings are a dime a dozen! And I just love how each KH game has a sad ending to it!  (The most tragic ones being Birth By Sleep and Days!)  I guess you could say the only happy ending we got was in Kingdom Hearts II!  And that's just one game! :3  But yeah, the story gets us all riled up with the feels! :')

Lol, well, at least you weren't pulled into a plot by the Organization! X3

Agreement! I like happy endings, don't get me wrong, but I have great respect for a story that makes me feel the feels. Kingdom Hearts has gone above and beyond the feels train, and that's one of the many things I love about it. Well, that and the fact that it incorporates many of my favorite Disney movies into awesome worlds I get to explore!(Although I could do without Atlantica. Just saying.)

Yeah, at least that didn't happen. That would suck!  :P
