Satisfying Video Game Moments

Recommended Posts

What are some of the most satisfying video game memories that you have? Moments when you just feel accomplished for getting past a certain boss, doing something tricky, or things that just made you feel good and stand out after how many years.

One of my big ones was beating King K.Rool for the first time. Donkey Kong Country was a huge part of my childhood, and I loved playing it, even though I was atrocious at platformers and never came close to beating it. Fast forward to years later, when I got my Wii and the Virtual Console with it, and picked up the old favorite, with more gaming experience under my belt. At long last, I managed to get to the Gangplank Galleon, and at long last, finally managed to trounce K.Rool. It was a great moment and a good memory to have.

Another moment of accomplishment, though with far less feel good behind it, is beating Necron in FFIX. I hated fighting Necron, because he kicked my monkey tail every which way with his status effects and counters and hitting like a tank. Beating him took forever, and when he finally went down, it was one of the only times I've jumped up off my couch to do a victory dance.

Also, beating Kalameet in Dark Souls with a weapon that broke one minute into the fight is up there. It wasn't by design, but the fact that I pulled it off is something I'm proud of.

Ooh, this is a neat little thread you've set up here!  Damn, I've got quite a few satisfying moments when it comes to things I've doing in video games, but if I type them all, I'll take the whole page! xD  So I'll just mention a few moments that popped into my head just now!

Obviously, whenever I beat a Kingdom Hearts game, I feel immensely satisfied, especially when I play through them in Critical Mode!  I also loved the feeling of gaining the Platinum Trophies for 1.5 and 2.5!  I always told myself that if there ever was a Kingdom Hearts game for PS3, I'd get all the trophies and hit Platinum status!  And that's exactly what I did!  Also, defeating the secret bosses, forging all the synthesis items, and overall just playing through the games is a joy!

I remember this really badass moment that happened to me not too long ago while playing Star Wars: Battlefront!  If I'm not mistaken, I was playing through Supremacy on the Sorosuub Centroplex, and I was using Luke Skywalker!  I remember that I was running through the battlefield and taking out stormtroopers as I went, but then, when I ran up a few flights of stairs, about five stormtroopers were running inside and just happened to run towards me!  Instinctively, I used Luke's Force Push ability, and I killed those five stormtroopers with just one Force Push!  I was playing with my best friend/soul brother Jonathan, and when those five kills registered in a row, he was like: "Holy shit man, what did you do!?" And I was like: "DUDE, I KILLED FIVE STORMTROOPERS AT THE SAME TIME!!!"  The Force was strong with me that day!  Like, seriously, it's like a one in a million moment! xD

Another immensely satisfying moment is beating Dark Souls for the first time!  The fact that I poured 90 hours of my life into the game and managed to beat it gave me such an intense and powerful feeling of accomplishment!  For those who are wondering, Dark Souls is not for the faint of heart!  Master Dave can attest to that! But, for those looking for a challenge, you'll definitely find one!  Dark Souls is a game worth playing, and I can't wait to play II and III! :D

So yeah, those are just a few of my epic moments in gaming! :3

The moment I kicked little Arietta's butt in Tales of the Abyss (on the 3ds)

Tales of the Abyss was the third game I ever got on my 3DS and every single time I played the game I was so infuriated by little. whiny. Areitta. I started on new files so many times before eventually giving up. A few-ish years later I didn't just kick her butt, I handed it to her. When she came up later on in the game, I beat her like a boss. That was the most satisfaction I ever got from a game ^-^

Before getting my butt kicked again by Master Van... and getting stuck again :(

Beating Castlevania 1 was so sytisfying. This is by far the hardest game I've ever played, completing a level in that game is such an accomplishment,I spent hours redoing the same levels over and over until I could memorise them perfectly, take as little dammage as possible until I reach the boss and do my best to not get my ass kicked by the boss at the end of the stage.

breaking my final fantasy curse by beating x

more like a "team" moment than a "me" moment. i was playing transformers war for cybertron online on my team were people that had "megatron" and "soundwave" something with numbers or what have you well they had mic's and were telling people what to, and i, being the starscream ignored all their "advice" and died to a optimus style truck over and over untill i placed bombs all around and flew straight into him and blew up as nobly scarified myself, megatron told soundwave to play me off and he sang "ANNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDD IIIIII WIIIIILLLLL ALLLLLWWWWAAAAYYYYSSSS LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVVEEEE YYYYOOOOUUUUUUUUU" needless to say i was laughing pretty much the rest of the day

Beating

Airy in Bravely Default and watching her get eaten.

I'll admit that i was creeped out at first, but i got use to it and now it has become more satisfying for me xD

Finally beating Spyro Enter the Dragonfly (It was one of my first GameCube games) in 2008 it took me and my sister 5 YEARS TO BEAT IT! I remember there was this one Dragonfly that we couldn't get at all, we get angry and leave it. Then in 2008 we looked up it up and found out how to get that Dragonfly. I'll admit getting that Dragonfly is more satisfying then beating the game.

Finally beating BBS MF as Ventus. Before I got on the internet and found out about the thunder/fire surge method I used a deck of random commands I thought were cool like faith and triple firaga which made MF pretty difficult. I actually got all the way to level 99 then beat him and I think I actually cried from happiness. I think I had like 70 hours just on that file at that point. I put too much time in that game as a 14 year old
