Exiblade7 1,917 Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) I remember them by remembering the music and simply listening to the music the game has to offer. The tracktrack helps me visualize the area in which that nostalgic moments happen. Did that ever since I've played Paper Mario: the thousand year door. AzureAce 544 Posted March 5, 2016 If I look in the mirror and I'm crying, then it's a nostalgic moment, if I look in the mirror and I'm not crying, then It ain't nostalgic to me.

EternalReckoning 1,135 Posted March 6, 2016 Its a very specific process, it starts with a nawing, an inexplicable longing to play a specific game. Gradually as time proceeds my mind is haunted by various key musical scores from said game, pressure gradually builds and memories of the game flood and disorientate my mind so much I have to go back and relive the memories that have come to life in my mind once again. 2 Exiblade7 and Philip Ellwell reacted to this
Rob 5,571 Posted March 6, 2016 The scene has to have an impact on Rob for him to remember. Like facing Red in Gold/Silver. The theme alone gave Rob chills that he remembers it even now.
KHUndertaleFan25 2,858 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) The music and the quotes. Plus the story, characters, backgrounds/scenery, and the gameplay. Edited March 6, 2016 by KHUndertaleFan25 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
mag77 405 Posted March 6, 2016 A lot contributes to video game nostalgia for me. The music is definitely the biggest and most important, followed by the backgrounds and scenery. Story and characters are very nostalgic for me as well. Also, what time of month and day play parts too; I find games much more nostalgic when I'm playing them at nighttime during Christmas season. Just playing a game (particularly Kirby games and Star Ocean 4 for some reason) and seeing all the Christmas lights and the Christmas Tree around me make me feel very nostalgic and happy. Veemon 1,540 Posted March 6, 2016 My way of remembering moments in video games? I make them. True, the music in games is awesome, but that very rarely actually gives me a reminder of any moments in video games. What I tend to do is build my own favorite moments, and the more epicness I felt during that moment of action, the more easily I can remember it. Some of you may have heard my incredible story of how my Dewott in Pokemon White 1 evolved to Samurott when I defeated the Electric Gym. THAT was surprisingly more memorable than fighting the Champion. Why? Because I played the game my way. And how about when I cleared Classic 9.0 in Super Smash Bros. For Wii U as Greninja ON MY FIRST TRY? The tension was filling my body will enough focus to survive all the way through. And to do it with my main, Greninja, gave me the more accomplishing feeling. It was a moment that I can say to myself that: "I did that. My achievement to remember Greninja by." Basically, if you're a person like me who wishes to make memories manually, the best way to get that kind of nostalgia in your games is to play it YOUR way, and not entirely how the Game Designers want you to play. And who knows? Maybe some of the designers actually DO want players to enjoy their games in unique and fun ways. That's all me. Have a blast making memories, players! Rock on! Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted March 6, 2016 Usually the soundtracks and what happens in the game. Like take Speed Highway in Sonic Adventure. That moment where Sonic runs down that skyscraper is forever ingrained into my memory, and the music from that section certainly helps me visualize it and the sensation of that moment every time I hear it. Really makes me wish I had super speed so I could do stuff like that without getting hurt. X3" 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Gwynbleidd 551 Posted March 6, 2016 Soundtracks are a definite factor, for sure. I think boss fights are actually quite a large factor too. But either way,if a game is as good as Kingdom Hearts, then I shall remember it for ever. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
